Trinity Rodman brought some winning energy to Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday, watching boyfriend Ben Shelton open his U.S. Open campaign with a four-set victory over Tallon Griekspoor.
The U.S. women’s national team forward arrived in New York fresh off her own success, having helped the Washington Spirit defeat Bay FC in NWSL action the day before.
Rodman, wearing a multi-colored shirt, was seen celebrating from Shelton’s player box throughout the match. At one point during the evening, she flashed a peace sign and posed for a photo while taking in the first-round win.
The couple went public with their relationship in March 2025, and they’ve become the darling couple of the sports world.

During an appearance on ESPN over the weekend, Rodman showed off her nails that featured a tennis ball, net and Shelton’s initials, “BS.”
“I’m definitely going to be able to go to his first match and we’ll go from there, because I kind of don’t know [if I can attend] until a day or two before,” she told the Worldwide Leader. “I’ll be at the first match and then we’ll see.”
Shelton took down Griekspoor 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7), 6-2 to move on to the second round and will face Hubert Hurkacz.
The former Florida Gator had to rebound after an ugly first set before turning things around in the second set.
“Obviously a lot of credit to Tallon, he’s a difficult player to play,” Shelton said following the match. “He doesn’t give you a lot of rhythm. He has an attacking game style and I found things really difficult for the first set tonight.”
Shelton later added: “I found my rhythm at some point through the second set.”
