Illinois America 250 Commission Kicks Off Celebrations for America’s 250th Birthday

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — Although the grand celebration has concluded, the commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary of independence continues with enthusiasm and pride.

In this spirit, we spotlight the remarkable individuals of Illinois, acknowledging their remarkable achievements, captivating stories, and significant contributions that have shaped the nation.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

At the forefront of this initiative is the Illinois America 250 Commission, championing this cause.

“Our mission is to ensure that every resident of Illinois feels a part of our nation’s narrative and that they have the opportunity to engage with it,” explains Gabrielle Lyon, who is the Chair of the Commission and also the Executive Director of Illinois Humanities. “Additionally, we want to guarantee that our efforts are inclusive and reach every corner of the state.”

Lyon highlights that one of the most rewarding aspects of her role with the commission is “the daily discovery of how intricately Illinois’ history is woven into the broader tapestry of our country’s past.”

“That’s everything from before we were a state. We weren’t a state until 1818. All the way up until now, I mean, the organizers, the labor movements, the artists, the musicians. You can’t really tell the story of America without the influence of Illinoisans,” Lyon said.

The Illinois America 250 Commission is highlighting the people of Illinois and their contributions to this country.

One of the commission’s major initiatives was to create a passport.

“This passport has a collection of 60 people, places, sites, scenic highways, all of which have ties to making good on the ideals of the Declaration of Independence,” Lyon said.

Lyon says there are a couple of ways that families can tackle the passport as they hit the road to visit some of the landmarks this summer.

“You can be like kids get in the car and just pick something you like. Or you can find an interest that one of your kids has. If they’re young, go to the John Deere Historic Museum. That innovation changed the entire nature of agriculture,” Lyons said. “The truth is, the sweep of American history complex, fraught, amazing; it’s all right here in Illinois.”

And the initiative that Lyon says she’s probably most excited about is Illinois Voices 250 led by Illinois Humanities, “which is an invitation to record a story about this moment with someone you care about.”

“And those conversations are being preserved at the Library of Congress,” she added. “The idea that we’re just celebrating something that happened 250 years ago, to me, misses the point of this moment. The Declaration of Independence is a promise. But it’s a promise you have to actively make good on. And part of that is thinking about, what kind of place do you want to live in, what do you want for your children, what does equality, pursuit of happiness mean to you? And making a conversation that’s going to make a memory is kind of the best way to both imagine it and crystalize that.”

Governor Shapiro Criticizes NY Democrat Darializa Avila Chevalier

0

WASHINGTON — Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro recently issued a severe critique of Darializa Avila Chevalier, a socialist congressional nominee from New York, signaling that a contentious debate might soon unfold within the Democratic Party.

In an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, Shapiro (D) did not hold back his reservations. “Her district voted for her, but I have profound differences from that particular candidate,” he stated candidly. There is a clear disparity in values and ideals between Shapiro and Chevalier that he made evident in his comments.

Shapiro elaborated further, suggesting that Chevalier’s views and campaign platform are not aligned with his own. “She’s not someone who seemingly I would agree with on many things or that we share similar values,” he continued. While acknowledging her victory, he pointed out her association with socialism, which he sharply contrasted with his perspectives.

Chevalier’s recent triumph over Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chairman Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) sent shockwaves through New York’s political landscape. Her victory in the deep blue 13th Congressional District, which includes parts of Upper Manhattan and the West Bronx, marks a significant shift in political sentiment in the area.

Known as a self-described democratic socialist, Chevalier has been vocal about a spectrum of far-left positions. Among these are calls to abolish prisons and eliminate Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Her controversial statements extend to labeling former President Joe Biden a rapist and making inflammatory remarks with national symbols, like her disdainful comment about wiping dirty hands on the American flag.

“I think what our party has to go through that will be very healthy, and something we’ve not really done since the 1992 election cycle, is to have a battle over what we believe in,” Shapiro contended.

Shapiro is widely seen as a comparatively moderate figure within the Democratic Party, though unlike Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), the Pennsylvania governor is careful about picking fights with the far left.

Chevalier campaigned heavily against Israel, an issue that will likely become a problem for Shapiro if he runs for the Democratic presidential nod in 2028.

Shapiro sidestepped a question about how his Jewish identity would impact his prospects of becoming the Democrats’ presidential standard-bearer in two years, given where the party is on Israel.

“I think Pennsylvania is the ultimate swing state,” Shapiro replied when asked. “What I have found in my years of service in government is that the public wants you to be who you are. Be authentic.

“My faith teaches me that no one’s required to complete the task, but neither are we free to refrain from it,” he added. “That’s what my faith teaches me. That’s how my family raised me. That is who I am, and I’m not going to apologize for it.”

Mexican Fans Use Fireworks and Car Horns to Distract England Team

0

In a spirited attempt to unsettle the England players ahead of their crucial World Cup knockout match, Mexican fans have assembled outside the team’s hotel, filling the air with the sounds of blaring horns, booming music, and thundering drums.

Amid a strong police presence and occasional rain showers, the enthusiastic supporters congregated outside the luxurious hotel situated in the southwestern suburbs of Mexico City. The gathering started around midnight local time, corresponding to 7 a.m. BST on Sunday.

Chanting “Mexico, Mexico, Mexico,” the crowd of approximately 50 fans was held at a distance by a sizeable security force, ensuring the complex remained secure under a rigorous police watch.

Outfitted with riot gear, including shields and helmets, about 300 officers were deployed, substantially outnumbering the gathered fans to maintain order and safety.

Despite their efforts to create a ruckus, the fans were positioned roughly 500 meters from the hotel, limiting their ability to disrupt the England squad’s rest. Additionally, the players were provided with earplugs as a preventative measure.

England’s security team exclusively told Daily Mail Sport that Mexican fans’ attempts to disturb the Three Lions’ sleep had little to no impact on the squad.

Insiders said the team had also been given rooms facing away from the street where the Mexican fans had gathered to try and disrupt England’s preparation.

An England security official dismissed suggestions the squad’s preparations had been disrupted when speaking to Daily Mail Sport outside the hotel at midnight local time.

Instead, he insisted the players found the whole spectacle amusing rather than intimidating and suggested they were well used to it.

By Saturday evening in Mexico, barriers surrounded the hotel perimeter while security personnel lined the railings keeping watch over the growing crowds outside.

Riot police and local authorities eventually intervened, moving around 200 fans approximately 300 metres away from the hotel entrance, allowing the area to calm considerably.

The England security official, who spent the evening monitoring the situation from outside the hotel, said the noise could initially be heard from inside the building but stressed it was never particularly loud or problematic.

Once the supporters had been pushed further down the street, he said the players could no longer hear the commotion from their rooms.

The official praised the efforts of the Mexican authorities, saying the government, local police and security services had been ‘incredibly helpful’ throughout England’s stay and had gone out of their way to ensure the team’s preparations remained unaffected.

He also insisted the players’ mentality had not changed despite the attempts to create an intimidating atmosphere.

‘They’re used to playing for Real Madrid, Barcelona and the biggest Premier League clubs,’ he said. ‘This isn’t their first experience of something like this.’

He added that some players regularly experience more hostile atmospheres in domestic football, joking that ‘sometimes the atmosphere at Everton is worse.’

According to the security official, England’s experienced squad have taken everything in their stride and, if anything, the reception has only sharpened their focus ahead of the knockout tie, which takes place at 1am on Monday UK time.

The official also played down reports surrounding England’s arrival at the hotel earlier this week, which attracted large crowds of supporters and widespread attention on social media.

He described the team’s arrival as ‘very smooth’ and said there was ‘nothing of note’ from the perspective of those responsible for security as it was all a bit of ‘fun’.

He added that members of England’s travelling party were surprised by the scale of the media coverage afterwards because they did not view the scenes as anything out of the ordinary.

The scenes were an echo of what happened earlier this week when Ecuador played Mexico in a round of 32 game.

Before the match Mexican fans gathered in large numbers outside their hotel, the Westin palace, playing loud music and revving car engines in order to stop the players getting a good night’s sleep.

Pictures on social media showed players gathered windows and balconies looking at the fans who were not immediately moved on by police.

It led to the Ecuador FA launching an official complaint against Mexico for ‘unsupporting conduct’ and as a result FIFA moved England into another hotel.

Some fans used loud hailers to chant ‘Mexico, Mexico’ and at one point they were pushed back by police but there were no real violent scenes.

Roads around the hotel had also been closed off and only people who worked or lived in the area were allowed to approach the hotel.

Despite the noisy scenes outside on Saturday night and Sunday morning, England remain confident their preparations have not been compromised as they look to book their place in the World Cup quarter-finals at the Azteca on Monday.

Antonio Nusa: Norway’s Rising Football Sensation Poised to Challenge Brazil and Capture Europe’s Elite Clubs’ Attention

Antonio Nusa’s exuberant celebration was a clear giveaway of his youthful enthusiasm and rising confidence.

Most players are usually swept away with emotion when they net their first goal at a World Cup finals, especially when the goal is as spectacular as Norway’s opening strike against the Ivory Coast.

Not so with Nusa. As his precisely aimed shot curled into the top corner, he immediately sprang into action, celebration plan in place. With a hand to his ear, he made a ‘who’s talking now?’ motion, sprinting toward his cheering teammates on the sidelines.

Nusa is gearing up for the most significant match of his budding career as Norway prepares to face Brazil in New Jersey on Sunday, with a quarter-final spot at stake. The Brazilian squad shows vulnerability at full-back, providing Nusa with an opportunity to shine. Daily Mail Sport takes a closer look at this promising Norwegian talent.

The Nordic talent pipeline

Nusa was spotted playing for Langhus, a club to the south of Oslo that specialises in developing potential. The best players are then funnelled into local professional clubs and when he was 13, Nusa joined Stabaek.

Stabaek are not one of the country’s giants and have not won a league title since 2008, yet they were big news among scouts when Nusa started to make his mark in the club’s reserve team. By the time he made his first-team debut in May 2021, Nusa had barely turned 16 but already it was clear that his future would not be in Norway.

Sure enough, Nusa had played barely 10 hours’ football for Stabaek, scoring three goals in his 11 appearances, before he was on his way to Club Brugge.

While at Stabaek, Nusa worked with coach Gaute Larsen, who also oversaw Erling Haaland’s development Bryne, another Norwegian club.

If you follow the main European football calendar, it is easy to overlook the Nordic leagues. Many of them run across the summer months when fans’ attention is on the transfer market.

Yet several established talents in Europe’s top five leagues cut their teeth in the Nordic countries – not just global stars like Haaland and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but current Premier League players like Simon Adingra, Mohammed Kudus and Yankuba Minteh.

These clubs are only as good as their scouting networks. The more gems they discover, the more they can invest in their recruitment programmes – a self-sustaining cycle. In Nusa, Stabaek had one of the best, and the £5m they received from Club Brugge in 2021 should ensure their production line operates smoothly for many years.

The tell-tale signs

To understand how high is Nusa’s ceiling, you don’t even need to watch him play. Instead, look at the list of clubs he’s played for, and which others have tried to sign him.

Club Brugge, RB Leipzig and Brentford are three of the world’s leading clubs for Talent ID. Brugge’s top 10 sales have brought in more than £220million – a huge sum for a club in one of Europe’s middle-ranking leagues.

Leipzig are also brilliant and buying low and selling high and are set to bank £100m for Nusa’s fellow winger Yan Diomande, just a year after signing him for £15m. Before moving to Germany two years ago, Nusa nearly joined Brentford – who are also experts at player trading. Most of Europe would love access to these clubs’ recruitment data so if Nusa is appearing on all their radars, it is a very promising sign.

Nusa’s move to Brentford collapsed in the winter of 2024 due to complications with his medical – but that did not stop Leipzig signing him the following summer.

‘I was 18 at the time, and it was difficult,’ Nusa told website transfermarkt in March 2025. ‘t took some time; I can’t say it was easy. My family and friends were very important in that process.’

In two seasons at Leipzig, Nusa has relatively modest returns. He has 10 goals and 11 assists in 71 appearances in all competitions and Berlin-based Bundesliga expert Mark Meadows believes playing for Norway brings the best from Nusa.

‘Sometimes he looks a world beater but can often go missing in games,’ he said. ‘Having a target like Haaland to aim for from the wing is helping his game.

‘Last season he was eclipsed at RB Leipzig by Diomande’s stunning season. Four Bundesliga goals from Nusa weren’t quite enough but they still made the Champions League.’ In his first campaign alone, Diomande delivered 13 goals and 10 assists – the kind of numbers that move the dial for top clubs, and the kind they will be looking for from Nusa.

‘If you look at his first professional goal against Bodo Glimt (in June 2021), it was very similar to the one he scored against Ivory Coast,’ recalls Markus Fjortoft, host of the excellent Bundesliga programme ‘The Fussball Channel’.

‘He has always had talent and an X Factor. Then it’s a matter of taking the next step and I’d always been curious about whether he can do that from a physical perspective. I think he’s better prepared now than he’s ever been.

‘I predicted before the tournament that Nusa would be our breakout player. There is a difference between his club form and his national team form and he’s gone to another level with Norway.’

Nusa will play again in the Champions League next season and that’s the perfect place for him to show what he can do

Premier League bound?

This is the signature move Fjortoft refers to: drifting in from the left, Nusa works the ball on to his right foot and aims for the top corner.

Juventus and Italy great Alessandro Del Piero had an identical trick, as did Dutch winger Arjen Robben, albeit from the opposite side.

Data from respected platform FBref has Nusa tracking along similar lines to Jarrod Bowen, relegated last season with West Ham but an excellent Premier League operator for some time, and Fjortoft – the son of former Norway forward Jan Age Fjortoft – is optimistic about what might come next.

‘Clubs are looking for players who can take on defenders one-on-one and he is willing and able to do that,’ he argues. ‘He can hit these inswinging crosses that create a different angle for Haaland and Alexander Sorloth and they are very difficult to defend.

‘For a long time there was a battle between him and Oscar Bobb for the left-wing spot but he’s won that battle now. He’s special and he has a nice swagger about him, but he needs to reproduce his national team form more regularly at club level.

‘He’ll play again in the Champions League next season and that’s the perfect place for him to show what he can do.’

Stages don’t come much grander than a World Cup last-16 tie against the most successful nation is history. If Nusa can deliver his trademark goal once more, you can be sure he’ll have another celebration up his sleeve.

Brooks Nader Stuns in Daring Dress During Yacht Outing, Impressively Dodging Wardrobe Mishap

Brooks Nader continues to dazzle with her bold fashion choices, even as she occasionally grapples with wardrobe malfunctions that threaten to steal the show.

On Tuesday, June 30, the 28-year-old model took to Instagram Stories to flaunt a daring ensemble during a luxurious yacht getaway. In a bathroom selfie, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum showcased a sultry black dress with a daringly deep neckline, accentuating her cleavage. This striking outfit also featured a halter design, open back, and intriguingly low sides, offering her fans an unexpected glimpse of sideboob.

Ever the quick thinker, Nader skillfully adjusted her dress as she turned, avoiding any fashion faux pas. A playful moment ensued when one of her sisters playfully pushed her aside to steal the spotlight. Brooks, in a lighthearted display of sisterly camaraderie, grabbed the front of her dress for modesty and then gently nudged her sister right back.

The Love Thy Nader star completed her daring look with statement accessories: oversized black sunglasses, a chunky cross necklace, and matching earrings, all adding to her striking outfit.

For her beauty choices, she opted for a natural glam, showcasing a sun-kissed complexion and glossy lips. Her blonde locks were elegantly swept back into an updo, and she captured attention with a pout for the camera.

This isn’t the first time Nader nearly had a nip slip. Last month, she ended up topless during Miami Swim Week while swimming in a little red dress featuring off-the-shoulder straps. She ended up sitting on a man’s shoulders, causing her strap to fall down her chest. Nader handled it like a pro, quickly covering up by placing her hand over her chest. She attempted to fix the dress, but the number, which was then drenched with water, clung to the model’s body.

Nader previously opened up to Us Weekly about her nip slips, laughing, “You said it, not me! This is true. I have been known to have a nip slip every now and then. That’s why it’s so shocking I’m getting this [Breakthrough Fashion Talent] award, but I’m honored.”

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes Spotted at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Star-Studded Wedding Extravaganza

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes enjoyed an unforgettable evening on their latest date.

The dynamic duo—Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his wife—attended the much-anticipated wedding of his teammate Travis Kelce and pop sensation Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

Embracing the occasion, Brittany dazzled in a stunning baby blue gown adorned with eye-catching diamonds, as proudly shown by her husband in a July 4 Instagram post. Her beauty look featured icy eyeshadow, perfectly complementing her flowing, wavy blonde hair.

Brittany also took the chance to switch up her ensemble, changing into an elegant off-the-shoulder chartreuse gown later in the night. Her sophisticated attire was completed with a chic, regal up-do.

Meanwhile, Patrick exuded style in a sleek, high-sheen brown suit. His polished look was rounded off with black dress shoes and coordinating sunglasses.

Of course, since Taylor and Travis began dating in 2023, the couple has built a close bond with the Mahomes family, even going on trips together like the US Open tennis tournament in 2024 and Taylor attending Brittany’s birthday in Nashville this past fall.

Inside the Turmoil of ‘Call Her Daddy’: Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn’s Relentless Quest for Wealth and Fame

Dave Portnoy seems determined to keep the saga of “Call Her Daddy” alive.

In his newly released memoir, “Cancel Me If You Can,” the vocal and wealthy founder of Barstool Sports suggests a controversial twist: he accuses Alex Cooper and her once-co-host Sofia Franklyn of scheming to levy false allegations of sexual harassment against him as a means to escape their contracts with his company.

Portnoy does not hold back in his criticism, labeling Franklyn as a “f–king liar,” and he openly confesses to retaliating by attempting to dissolve their professional partnership.

Although Portnoy refrains from criticizing Cooper, he offers an insightful look into her tenacious character.

He recounts how, in 2020, Cooper managed to edge out Franklyn from the show they originally launched together at Barstool two years before. Cooper effectively took control of the “Call Her Daddy” brand, and as a result, her earnings soared to an impressive estimate of $32 million annually, as reported by Forbes.

“Dave is an axe-to-grind person and he’ll never give it up,” a source in the know told Page Six, while admitting that Cooper and Franklyn were “extremely difficult from the jump” and reportedly “really hard to manage.”

“They were very shrewd,” the source added. “They wanted what they wanted — money and fame — and they would stop at nothing to get it. it was a really dark time [at Barstool].

“This just all played out in a mean girl way, I never understood why Sofia didn’t fight for a share of the IP.”

Page Six has reached out to the two women for comment on Portnoy’s allegations.

Cooper, 31, and Franklyn, 33, were roommates in NYC when debuted their first episode of “Daddy” in October 2018 on Barstool.

They became a huge hit among 20somethings with their raucous tales of sex and dating. But behind the scenes, things were rocky.

“It was the classic [example of] you think you see something online and people genuinely believe you’re like sisters, but our relationship was so awful,’” Cooper later revealed on her Hulu docu-series, “Call Her Alex.”

Things went downhill in April 2019, when Logan Paul planted some “rather poisonous seeds” in Cooper and Franklyn’s minds during a discussion about pay on his podcast, Portnoy said.

In 2020, Portnoy says, he offered each of them a massive deal to stay at Barstool: $500,000 in annual salary and 3.5% of all merchandising they sold; at the end of their stint with the company, all merch money and the “Call Her Daddy” IP would revert to them, along with 10-20% of future sales for any alcohol brand started under the brand name.

When Cooper met Portnoy on the rooftop of his building, he claims, she told him, ‘I love the deal you proposed, and I want to take it. But Sofia is never going to take it’.”

“‘Okay,’ I said. ‘You guys realize I’ll sue you if you take the podcast to another network before your contract is out, right?’ Alex claimed to me that they had a plan to say they were both sexually harassed at Barstool,” he alleged.

“That was it. That was their game plan to get out of their contractual obligation to Barstool Sports in the event that I did not relinquish their IP to them and wish them well on their merry way as they jumped ship to a rival podcast network.”

Cooper then allegedly decided to cut out Franklyn and take the money herself.

“I don’t want Sofia, even if she decides to take the deal,” Portnoy recalls her asking him. “Can I get the entire IP by myself if I honor the deal?”

Privately, Cooper also alleged that Franklyn had substance issues, Portnoy writes.

Portnoy, already annoyed by what he considered the overbearing interference by Franklyn’s then-boyfriend, former HBO exec Peter Nelson — whom he call “this Lord Farquaad-looking, factory-reject Ken doll” and “in my eyes quite possibly a human incarnation of Satan” — agreed. (We have reached out to Nelson for comment.)

But, ever the businessman, he offered Franklyn a rival podcast.

“I knew at that point the dirty little secret that nobody knew about ‘CHD;’ the girls hated each other,” he writes, admitting he wanted them to launch two “warring podcasts.”

“Let’s squeeze every last drop out of this fracture for as long as possible. People will pick sides, we’ll make merch about it,” Portnoy adds. “For me, the worst thing that could happen was for these two girls to see eye to eye again.”

Portnoy even confesses to leaking the story of Cooper and Franklyn’s bitter feud to The Post to stop them from ganging up against him.

“It worked perfectly, Alex and Sofia completely severed all communication,” he said, “They each believed the other had leaked the story. The friendship, and the podcast, as we knew it, would never exist again. They hated each other.”

A year later, Cooper signed a $60 million three-year stint with Spotify, then moved “Call Her Daddy” to radio giant Sirius XM for a whopping $125 million multi-year contract.

She founded her own media empire, Unwell, in 2023. The podcast network has grown to seven shows in addition to “Call Her Daddy.” Her Unwell Hydration, which sells sports drinks, can be found at Target, Meijer and Sprouts, and is an official partner of the National Women’s Soccer League. She’s also produced a Hulu reality show, “Overboard For Love.”

In her Hulu docu-series, “Call Her Alex,” Cooper admits that Portnoy “said, ‘If you stay at Barstool for one more year, you can own ‘Call Her Daddy.’ Sofia didn’t want to take the deal, but I did, so I stayed.”

Cooper has said she has not spoken to Franklyn since their spit.

Franklyn, meanwhile, has not had the same level of success. She launched her own podcast, “Sofia With An F,” and is engaged and planning a wedding in Italy this summer to a man whose name she has yet to reveal.

She is set to release her own memoir, “Daddy Issues,” in November — and savagely cut Cooper from a photo on the cover.

Portnoy is expecting the worst. He writes in his book: “Women are going to believe her just because she’s a woman, because they feel bad for her or they don’t like Alex or they hate my guts or whatever. That’s fine.”

He has publicly stated he believes Franklyn helped orchestrate a 2021 Business Insider exposé that contained sexual misconduct allegations against him.

“You can say whatever you want about me, but literally nobody has ever said I don’t tell the truth 100% of the time. So to all the women who think Sofia is some feminist icon, just remember you are propping up a woman who I believe was willing to lie at the drop of a hat about sexual harassment, which sets all women back,” he writes.

Franklyn’s book “tackles her explosive exit from ‘Call Her Daddy,’ the severe emotional toll of her fallout with Alex Cooper, and her path to reinvention,” according to a press release.

“The decision [to write the book] was one I came to on my own,” she told Rolling Stone in February. “Six years ago, I was reeling from an experience I didn’t understand. I needed to grow up and be free of ego as much as humanly possible.”

According to another insider who has worked within Cooper’s orbit: “Alex always maintains ‘Call Her Daddy’ was her idea and she did the work. She did edit it, and it always seemed like Alex was the engine and the driver, but Sofia maintained it was a lot of her ideas.”

Legally, Franklyn has no rights to “Call Her Daddy”.

A cursory check of the United States Patent and Trademark Office shows that Barstool Sports, which owned the “Call Her Daddy” trademark, officially signed over the brand to Cooper’s production company, Bulldozer Productions, in November 2021. Cooper merged that company in March 2025 into TRNDG IP, LLC, for which she served as president and which remains the current owner of the brand.

Asked whether she has any legal way to fight Portnoy’s accusations that she and Cooper planned to make fake sexual harassment claims against him, trademark lawyer Matthew Asbell of Lippes Mathias replied she would have to “somehow prove that to be false and damaging. A public response may also give more life to the story and just help Portnoy sell more books.”

Cooper is now expecting her first baby with husband and business partner Matt Kaplan, who found himself at the center of a Vanity Fair expose last month, which alleged he had created “the most toxic work environment.”

In April, Bloomberg News alleged that Kaplan “frequently” yelled at staff members, citing people familiar with the company’s operations.

The Vanity Fair piece claimed sources also said that Kaplan used words like “stupid” or “retarded” to refer to employees and threatened to ruin their careers. One source claimed Cooper had witnessed her husband lose his temper and scream “the nastiest things” at people but did not intervene to defend anyone involved.

Some female staffers said that Kaplan asked about their sex lives and commented on their physical appearances.

Cooper has also been embroiled in a feud with Alix Earle after Unwell dropped Earle’s “Hot Mess” podcast in February 2025. The women stayed largely silent on their reported beef until early April 2026, when Earle reposted a Tiktok video of another content creator calling Cooper “so awful” and comparing her to “an ambulance chaser” for “profiting” from women’s vulnerable moments.

Cooper retaliated by telling Earle to stop being “passive aggressive” and “get specific and just say what you’ve got to say about me. There’s no NDA. No one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself” Earle replied: “On it!”

However, Earle refused to discuss the fallout on the “Today” show in May, saying  “Let’s keep the positive vibes going.”

Still, said the source in the know, “This mean girl thing is going to plague Alex Cooper forever.”

Dutton Ranch Season 2: Top 10 Questions Fans Are Asking After Dramatic Season 1 Finale

0

As the credits fade on the Season 1 finale of Dutton Ranch, viewers are left to grapple with the shockwaves of a major character’s death. The complex dynamics between Beth Dutton, portrayed by Kelly Reilly, and Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser, now include the daunting challenge of outsmarting their formidable new adversary, Mariano Reyes, performed by Raoul Max Trujillo. Meanwhile, fans are on edge about the uncertain future of a beloved character, Carter, played by Finn Little, who is caught in a tense cliffhanger.

This gripping conclusion to the successful Yellowstone spin-off’s debut season leaves fans not just thrilled but also pondering numerous unresolved storylines. These lingering mysteries are sure to fuel speculation and anticipation until the series makes its much-awaited return.

As the countdown to Dutton Ranch Season 2 begins, viewers are left with a host of burning questions that will occupy their minds in the coming months. While we can only cover so much, these pressing questions will keep discussions alive long after the finale. We invite you to share any queries you have in the comments, but for now, let’s dive into the speculation.

  1. How Hellish Will The Fallout From Rob-Will’s Death Be?

Rob-Will and Joaquin on 'Dutton Ranch'

    Photo: Paramount+

The Season 1 finale delivers a significant plot twist with the unexpected death of Rob-Will. Although Joaquin isn’t shown pulling the trigger, the clues are hard to ignore. Early scenes of him with a loaded gun, a motive driven by orders from his father, and the emotional aftermath hint at his involvement. His frantic departure from the scene and subsequent breakdown, with the weapon by his side, strongly suggest he killed his brother. The question remains—what comes next?

Will Joaquin be consumed by guilt, or will he become even more resolved to follow his father’s path? The looming tension is palpable as we wonder how he will confront Oreana and Beulah, especially if—or perhaps more accurately, when—they uncover the truth.

  2. Will Sheriff Wade Do His Dang Job?

    Wade on 'Dutton Ranch'

    Photo: Paramount+

Speaking of Joaquin’s future, we have a lot of questions about Sheriff Handy Wade, who knows so much about this town and the people in it, yet has said and done so little. (Not very handy if you ask me!) Hours before Rob-Will’s death, Joaquin went to the station with the gun his brother used to kill Wes and tried to get him arrested. So if Beulah calls on Wade to solve her son’s murder, will he keep Joaquin’s motive to himself? And then there’s Carter…

When Beth first went to the station to enlist Wade’s help in finding her son, she couldn’t present proof that Carter’s life was in danger, so Wade refused to assist. But now that Carter’s life is indisputably at risk because he’s been kidnapped by the cartel will she seek Wade’s help again? And will step up? And please fill her in on Dwight?!

  3. What Happens To Business?

    Zane Nash on 'Dutton Ranch'

    Photo: Paramount+

Not to be that person, but what about Business?! The 10-Petal’s successor is down, so presumably Joaquin will step up to fill his shoes — provided Beulah doesn’t know he took her son’s life. But there’s no way that Beth and Rip — or even Beulah for that matter now that Mariano’s in town — will be paying any mind to Business, ranching, or earning money with Carter kidnapped! On top of the fact that the core characters need to make a living somehow, I’m sure Zane Nash will have some questions in Season 2!

  4. Is Everett’s Wife Still Alive?

Dutton Ranch, Annette Bening and Ed Harris

    Paramount+

As Beulah and Everett started rekindling their old flame in Season 1 we learned that Everett was married to someone who wasn’t Beulah, though her identity and status is currently Unknown. When B asked why Everett wore his wedding ring, he replied, “I’m still married — not that I want to be with her, if you’re asking.” So who’s Everett’s wife? Is she still alive? And if so, why aren’t aren’t they together anymore? Does it have anything to do with his late son’s death? And why did Beulah and Everett split in the first place? We need much more Dutton Ranch lore in Season 2!

  5. Have We Seen The Last Of Wes’ Wife?

    Whitney on 'Dutton Ranch'

    Photo: Paramount+

Speaking of wives, have we seen the last of Wes’ wife, Whitney Ayers, who fled earlier this season before the Jacksons could silence her? What happened to her after she left? Did she go to the cops or decide to lay low? And has she put her husband’s disappearance and burning desire to make the Jacksons pay behind her? Or will she return with a vengeance? There’s a chance that her role on the show is over, but then again, Dutton Ranch has delivered its fair share of surprises thus far, so we’ll have to wait and see!

  6. Is The Texas Train Station As Secure As Montana’s Was?

    Dutton Ranch, Rip Wheeler

    Paramount+

The body count in Rip’s makeshift Texas train station is rising, as are the number of people who know about the dumping ground. But is the site really as secure as Rip hopes? Or could those bodies be found in the future?

  7. What Happened To Oreana’s Mom?

Rob-Will and Oreana on 'Dutton Ranch'

    Photo: Paramount+

As we saw when we met Mariano and Rob-Will’s dad via flashback, Dutton Ranch has a knack for keeping characters’ whereabouts and backstories secret until a reveal fits into the story. So in wake of Rob-Will’s death, could we be meeting — or at least learning more about — Oreana’s mom? Why isn’t she in her life? What’s her history with Beulah? Is she alive? And if so and Dutton Ranch hasn’t cast her yet, can they please consider Natalie Alyn Lynd’s iconic real-life mom Barbara Alyn Woods? Thank you!

  8. Would Dutton Ranch Actually Kill Carter?

    Dutton Ranch, Carter

    Paramount+

Dutton Ranch entered its darkest timeline yet when Carter was kidnapped by the cartel. But there’s no way this actually ends with him dead, right?! The Sheridan-verse has certainly featured its fair share of ruthless, downright shocking deaths, but we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: There’s no indication that Finn Little is leaving this series, and we can’t imagine it without him! That said, we also can’t see how Beth and Rip take down Mariano and the freaking Cartel. Sure, they have one of his godsons hostage, and potential help from Beulah and Sheriff Wade. But we have a better idea…

  9. Will We Get The Dutton Ranch And Marshals Crossover Episode Of Our Dreams?

Luke Grimes as Kacey Dutton and Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton

    Photo: Paramount Network

Dutton Ranch and Marshals had two very different debut seasons, but they essentially ended the same. Both Carter and Tate were taken by bad guys! And Tate was allegedly being taken to Texas! When Marshals aired its Season 1 finale in May, fans felt that the Texas twist would be a perfect opening for a Marshals/Dutton Ranch crossover episode. Surely Beth and Rip would know the lay of the land in Texas and could help Kayce rescue Tate, with or without the rest of his team, right? But now that Beth and Rip also have a kid in danger and seemingly need some serious backup, could Kayce and the Marshals crew lend a hand to get Carter back and take down Mariano’s drug operation??? Please! We need this epic Dutton reunion!

  10. Beth and Rip on 'Dutton Ranch'

    Photo: Paramount+

A list of burning Dutton Ranch questions wouldn’t be complete without one of the most pressing: When is Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiering? Since Dutton Ranch Season 1 just wrapped, there’s no official Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiere date on the books yet. And we still have a little PTSD from the almost two-year gap between Yellowstone Season 5, Part 1 and Part 2. We know Sheridan-verse show turnaround times vary depending on a number of factors, but the fact that Dutton Ranch already found a new showrunner in Benjamin Cavell is a promising sign. If the writers get back to work and production commences in a timely fashion, we could hopefully get new episodes of Dutton Ranch in 2027. We’ll learn more about Dutton Ranch‘s Season 2 timeline in the coming months, so stay tuned for more updates!

In her latest health update, Tiffany disclosed that she suffered an adverse reaction to the antibiotics prescribed for her flu condition.

Turning to her Instagram Stories, Tiffany shared a picture of her shoulder from her bed, expressing, ‘I was prescribed antibiotics for my flu yesterday, and I’ve been vomiting all night.’

It comes just days after Tiffany revealed that doctors grew concerned during a routine check-up when they noticed signs of gestational diabetes and dehydration.

She was admitted for treatment to stabilise her condition and monitor the baby’s health.

Sharing an update with fans, Tiffany said: ‘Went in this morning to get tested again for gestational diabetes because the baby is measuring so big and ended up on a drip due to being so dehydrated and baby heart rate high.

She added: ‘I just can’t shake this flu I’ve got. It’s been about ten days now. My whole pregnancy has been so smooth and now right at the end it’s proving so hard. Hope I’ll be better soon.’

Tiffany and her footballer husband Cameron McGeehan, 29, confirmed they were expecting at the beginning of the year and have already picked out a name – although they’re keeping it private for now.

Tiffany told fans during a Instagram Q&A: ‘We decided it on New Years Day! Hoping we stick with it I think we will.’

The reality star and Cameron are already parents to a son Jude, who the couple welcomed in June 2023.

Tiffany announced the news by debuting her bump and sharing a sweet snap with her partner alongside the caption: ‘A best friend for Jude. Blessed to say we are growing our family.’

‘But it also revealed how many weeks it had been since conception (displayed as 1-2, 2-3, or 3+ weeks). #AD #ClearbluePartner.’

In February, the mother-of-one took to her Instagram to announce that she was expecting another baby boy.

The sweet clip saw her holding her 20-month-old, while she and her and footballer husband, 29, cut into an iced cake with two wineglasses.

Tiffany could be seen gasping in shock and bursting into delighted laughter as she and Cameron raised their glasses to reveal the inside of the cake was a bright blue.

In April 2022, Tiffany revealed that she suffered a devastating miscarriage at eight weeks.

While the pregnancy hadn’t been planned, the TV star explained how she became ‘very attached to the baby’ before being told during an early scan that the unborn baby hadn’t grown.

She went on to tell co-star Olivia how she endured further trauma as she underwent a failed operation to remove the foetus, before being given pills to induce a miscarriage.

Sitting together, Tiffany told Olivia: ‘It’s been such a big high, but I also feel like I had a massive low at the end of last year.’

As she began to cry, Tiffany said: ‘So basically at the end of last year, I found out I was pregnant, which came as a massive surprise, because we weren’t trying or anything.’

‘It was a few weeks after we got engaged when we found out, which was such a shock, and then…’ with Olivia asking: ‘And then you lost it?’ to which Tiffany nodded.

Explaining why she hadn’t told anyone but her family about her heartbreaking loss, Tiffany insisted: ‘I hate people feeling sorry for me and I hate people making a fuss over me.

‘It was nice to hang out with people and not talk about it. But I do want to talk about it because it’s such a massive thing.’

‘Yes, I wasn’t trying. Yes, it’s not ideal timing. But at the same time, I was like, “I’m in a committed relationship, this is a surprise earlier than we would have liked it to be, but that’s fine.”

‘And then I had really, really bad morning sickness, like awful morning sickness. And then I woke up one day and the morning sickness was completely gone and I was like, “this is weird”. Then I started feeling really normal.’

‘I hadn’t had any scans because you don’t have a scan until you’re further along.’
