Key Witness in Jerry Sandusky Case Set to Recant Testimony, Shattering Decade-Old Conviction

0

An unexpected twist has emerged in the high-profile case of Jerry Sandusky, as one of the former Penn State football coach’s accusers is reportedly set to withdraw his previous testimony more than a decade after Sandusky’s conviction for child sex abuse.

Sandusky, now 82 years old, is scheduled for a court appearance on September 8, during an evidentiary hearing that promises to bring new revelations. One of his accusers, a key witness during the trial, reportedly intends to inform the court that Sandusky, the erstwhile defensive coordinator for the Nittany Lions, did not actually abuse him. The accuser alleges that his initial testimony was influenced by prosecutorial tactics, ABC News disclosed.

In a dramatic turn, the accuser, who goes by Victim 10, claims in a sworn affidavit acquired by the news outlet that prosecutors guided his testimony. They supposedly encouraged him to reconsider and reconstruct his statements, casting doubt on his prior allegations.

Victim 10 further asserts that throughout the pretrial phase, prosecutors suggested that any inconsistencies in his memory could be attributed to trauma, a claim meant to justify memory gaps.

“Throughout the pretrial process, I was informed—both overtly and subtly—that trauma might have fragmented my memory,” the affidavit states, according to ABC News. “I was told I could confidently affirm details I did not fully remember, and assured that this was a common, anticipated occurrence.”

Prosecutors are expected to address allegations at the hearing.

Sandusky’s defense team said in a motion seeking a new trial that Victim 10’s now-estranged wife was able to testify that he was not sexually abused by the ex-coach.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, however, said that the woman’s opinion on what she thinks may have happened to Victim 10 when he was 10 years old, or any other Sandusky child victim, was “irrelevant and inadmissible,” the outlet reported.

Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse in 2012 for sexually abusing 10 boys over the span of a decade. In 2019, his 30-to 60-year prison sentence was reaffirmed by a judge.

During his trial in 2012, victims testified that Sandusky subjected them to a spectrum of abuse, from grooming to violent attacks.

The abuse, which took place from 1994 to 2009, involved young men he met with his Second Mile Charity, an organization he founded for at-risk youth that he used to find and groom child victims.

Letters written by the victims described the effect of their abuse as boys and in the years since, detailing their anxiety, difficulty with family and social relationships, and anger about what occurred.

One of them, described as Victim 4 in court records, said he does not forgive Sandusky and spoke of efforts to “attack us as if we had done something wrong.”

Sandusky’s arrest in 2011 — he retired from coaching at Penn State in 1999 — also prompted the firing of Hall of Fame head coach Joe Paterno, who died of lung cancer less than three months later.

Penn State has also paid more than $100 million to people who said they had been abused by Sandusky.

Former Penn State President Graham Spanier was previously convicted of child endangerment for failing to report the former coach’s abuse in 2001.

A federal judge tossed out Spanier’s conviction in 2019, a day before he was set to report to a two-month prison stint.

In 2024, Sandusky maintained his innocence from prison, insisting to the Daily Mail that his accusers were “coached and led” in their testimony and driven by money to lie.

“I never ever in my life ever thought about molesting anybody,” Sandusky told the outlet from Laurel Highlands State Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania.

“I was accused of heinous crimes, which I’ve never committed,” he added. “My wife was my only partner in sex and that was after marriage.”

Emotional Revelation: Shelley Fabares’s Cause of Death Unveiled After Co-Starring with Elvis Presley

0

Just days after her passing, the cause of death for beloved actress Shelley Fabares has been made public.

Fabares, aged 82, succumbed to a bout with pneumonia on August 22, as confirmed by a representative for her husband, M*A*S*H actor Mike Farrell, who spoke to the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Fabares, who captivated audiences with her performances alongside Elvis Presley in three films during her early career, had faced significant health challenges over the years.

In 2000, she was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis, a condition that eventually necessitated a liver transplant for her survival.

Her family announced her peaceful passing in Los Angeles earlier this week, sharing that she was surrounded by those she loved most.

In the statement announcing the news, they highlighted her decades-long career and the positive impact she had on her loved ones.

In addition to her husband, Fabares is survived by her stepchildren and the rest of their family.

‘To her family and friends, Shelley was a source of love, strength, laughter, and comfort,’ Fabares’s family said in its statement.

‘She was a devoted wife, cherished stepmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, family member, and loyal friend whose warmth, generosity, humor, and grace made an enduring difference in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.’

‘For millions, Shelley was a beloved actress whose work became part of the fabric of American television and film,’ the family of the late star continued.

‘From her memorable role as Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show, where she also launched a successful recording career with her number one hit, Johnny Angel, to her appearances opposite Elvis Presley in three films, her beloved role on Coach, and her many other television and film performances, she brought talent, intelligence, and warmth to every performance.’

‘But to those closest to her, her greatest legacy was personal: the love she gave so freely, the friendships she treasured, and the family bonds she held dear,’ they added.

Gushing about Fabares, her husband and her family also said they ‘will remember Shelley for her kindness, loyalty, wit, courage and beautiful spirit.’

‘We will miss her deeply — not only as a celebrated performer, but as the loving and extraordinary person she was in our everyday lives,’ her family continued.

‘We are heartbroken by her loss, yet profoundly grateful for the years we shared with her and for the joy, compassion, and love she brought to so many,’ they added.

‘We ask that our family’s privacy be respected as we grieve. We take comfort in knowing that Shelley’s work and the memories she created with those who loved her will continue to live on.’

She famously starred opposite Presley in the 1967 musical comedy Clambake and was known for her television role as Mary on The Donna Reed Show.

Fabares was also remembered for a guest appearance she made on the hit sitcom Mork & Mindy, starring the late Robin Williams.

Fabares was born in Santa Monica, and her career in entertainment kicked off when she was still a toddler.

Fabares’s mother got her started modeling at the age of three, and she later made her television debut at just age 10 in 1954 as part of Letter to Loretta.

Fabares, who also had an aunt working as an actress, previously discussed growing up and working as a child actress.

‘It’s hard to know who you are and what you are,’ she told The Roanoke Times in 1994.

‘The things that go into the making of a child — you’re not totally disciplined, you don’t always behave, you have a sense of freedom — those things are not allowed on a set.’

In 1958, she first played the part of Mary Stone, the teenage daughter of the titular star Donna and Dr Alex (Carl Betz) on The Donna Reed Show.

She later started her singing career after Reed’s husband, producer Tony Owen, encouraged her and her onscreen brother Paul Peterson to incorporate singing into the show.

Fabares’s song Johnny Angel debuted in 1962 and quickly became No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Throughout her career, Fabares released a total of four albums.

She was also previously married to music producer Lou Adler. Fabares and Adler were married for two years before they called it quits in 1966 but only later filed for divorce in 1978 and finalized their legal separation in 1980.

In 1965, she starred in her first movie with Presley in Girl Happy.

They would also work together again in the 1966 film Spinout and Clambake the following year.

Watch Maine Meteorologist’s Hilarious On-Air Giggle Outburst

    0

A meteorologist from Maine has skyrocketed to internet fame after an unexpected outbreak of giggles during a live broadcast sent viewers into fits of laughter. The moment occurred when he couldn’t contain his amusement during a weather segment and his attempts to regain composure only made the situation more hilarious.

Patrick Osborn was delivering his routine weather forecast on WABI, a Maine news station, when he startled Sunday morning viewers. Despite trying repeatedly, Osborn found himself unable to stifle his laughter, creating an unforgettable live television moment.

In the amusing footage, Osborn struggled to catch his breath while humorously announcing the day’s temperatures. His laughter overtook him to such an extent that his words became unintelligible, all while he kept apologizing between chuckles.

The unexpected giggle fest went on for nearly a minute. Osborn momentarily stepped out of view, only to return and eventually pass the spotlight to a colleague, leaving the studio and audience in stitches.

Recalling the moment with WABI co-anchor Brian Sullivan, Osborn said, “I got a fit of laughter that I was not able to control on air, unfortunately. A lot of times, something funny happens, and I’m able to contain myself, but this one, it was just a little too overwhelming.”

He revealed that the laughter was triggered by a prank he had attempted to play on fellow anchor Josh Gabbard, only for the joke to backfire on him.

During a commercial break, Osborn said he played a short Charlie Brown video for its sound effects but failed to realize the clip was actually an hour-long compilation that periodically replayed the sound every few minutes.

He said the audio then unexpectedly played again while he was starting his weather segment, almost instantly sending him into hysterical laughter.

“It’s the Charlie Brown phone call noise. It’s one where his mom or teacher calls him, and it’s the ‘Wa, wa, wa,’” Osborn told his station. “Something as silly and light-hearted as a Charlie Brown sound made me completely lose my composure.”

“I was just trying to keep it together but I couldn’t. Like, when you’re not supposed to laugh, you’re in an environment when you can’t laugh, and you’re trying to hold it back, that just makes it 10 times worse,” he said.

Osborn added: “I tried to get through it,” but “Josh had to leave the studio.”

“Thats the hardest I’ve heard … really anyone laugh,” Sullivan said, laughing along.

Donald Trump’s Fiery Reaction to Fox News and Allies’ Tensions Revealed

    0

“To all my dear friends on The Five, I still hold you in my thoughts. However, I’m in Washington, truly committed to doing God’s work,” said with an unmistakable tone of nostalgia.

From the back seat of her car, Judge Jeanine Pirro recorded a heartfelt video message, extending her best wishes to her successor as Fox News announced Emily Compagno would be filling her former role on the beloved show.

This message also carried a pointed note for Washington.

At 75, the seasoned U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia has no plans of returning to the small screen, nor is she seeking new pastures anytime soon.

According to sources close to her shared with the Daily Mail, Pirro is committed for the long haul, acutely aware of the uphill battles after an eventful 15 months in her role, all while conscious of President Donald Trump’s watchful eye on her performance.

Trump has long admired Pirro’s toughness on camera and her appetite for taking on her critics. That friendship will not save her if she fails to deliver results.

‘The President certainly has fired his friends, but her fuse is longer than most,’ a former Trump administration official told the Daily Mail.

She was out in force at the Freedom 250 IndyCar race through the streets of Washington, DC, on Sunday, posing with a host of administration officials.

Trump appointed her in part to see the daily law-and-order toughness she performed on Fox News put into practice in Washington.

‘There are expectations of her that are higher than most people,’ one source familiar with their relationship told the Daily Mail.

The first real strike against her came over the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Prosecutors in her office moved to dismiss the vandalism charges against ex-Olympian David Hearn. But Pirro did not tell the President first, another source said, and Trump was reportedly enraged by a fold he found wildly out of character for a prosecutor who built her career on never backing down.

Trump said at the time Pirro was ‘totally wrong,’ and said, ‘I told her I was not happy.’ But he didn’t engage with a reporter when asked if she would be fired.

After the public scolding, he appeared to move on following a frank discussion with Pirro at the White House.

During the closed-door Oval Office meeting, she personally detailed the Reflecting Pool case evidence to him. The President was angry but understanding, a source familiar with the meeting previously told the Daily Mail.

‘The reason Trump went ballistic is that he didn’t know about it. It didn’t get by him,’ another Washington insider told the Daily Mail after the Oval Office showdown.

Weeks later, another source said Trump has cooled off.

‘I don’t think that she’s on thin ice now, I just think Trump was p***ed off about the case,’ another source told the Daily Mail. ‘It was kind of a dumb case. It wasn’t going to go anywhere and she was fully honest with the President about it.’

The bigger problem now is that her office has struggled to land seemingly airtight cases, with Washington’s jury pool deeply skeptical of the administration’s prosecutions, say sources.

Juries have twice deadlocked over two suspected MS-13 ringleaders, sending both trials to mistrials this week.

Trump was livid when he learned that Pirro’s office was dropping charges against people arrested for vandalizing the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall

The deadlocked juries are a sign that there is deep skepticism surrounding Pirro and the Trump administration among DC citizens.

Those defeats will likely continue, sources tell the Daily Mail, despite her willingness to take cases to trial.

‘Jury nullification is a serious problem in DC,’ a legal source following proceedings in the city said.

Jury nullification is when jurors deliver a not guilty verdict even though they believe the defendant has broken the law.

Pirro is also up against unprecedented internal resistance from what other sources described as ‘unruly’ career prosecutors inside the US Attorney’s Office.

‘She’s got her hands full over there,’ one source told the Daily Mail.

Her predecessor, interim US Attorney Ed Martin, went to war with the office’s more liberal prosecutors and never got confirmed in the job.

Trump with Pirro at Mar-a-Lago, where they used to be seen together regularly

Pirro has taken the opposite approach and kept working with them.

‘If she wants to have any credibility in front of these judges, she’s got to work with the professionals in the office,’ a source said.

Her detractors point to the low conviction rate as proof she is not delivering. Her office measures success differently.

‘US Attorney Jeanine Pirro is prosecuting cases with one clear goal: Making Washington, DC safer for everyone,’ a spokesman told the Daily Mail.

‘Under the previous administration, 67 percent of arrests were simply not prosecuted. Under Pirro, just 5 percent go unprosecuted. The message is clear: Criminals can’t escape accountability.’

The White House did not return a request for comment.

Pirro’s office has also chalked up a win with the successful prosecution and sentencing of a would-be assassin who targeted Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Pirro continues struggling to conclude successful cases in Washington, DC

Pirro continues struggling to conclude successful cases in Washington, DC

She also has a good relationship with newly sworn-in Attorney General Todd Blanche, sources close to him told the Daily Mail, and her allies were grateful when he backed her publicly on NBC’s Meet the Press.

‘I absolutely support US Attorney Pirro, as does President Trump,’ Blanche said, adding that she was doing ‘a phenomenal job.’

For now she is probably safe, one source said, because Trump has no appetite for another bruising confirmation fight over a successor.

‘The question is, what’s the alternative?’ the source said.

She will not walk away either, sources told the Daily Mail, citing her determination to finish what she started. And there is no queue forming behind her.

‘Who is going to want that f***ing job? It’s the worst one in the DOJ,’ one source close to the White House said.

Joe Espada, the team’s manager, praised Strom, calling him “a foundational figure in our pitching strategy.” He expressed his enthusiasm for Strom’s return, eager to “gain insights from his vast experience and perspective.”

Espada emphasized Strom’s significance, noting, “His presence is vital as we aim to clinch the division,” according to MLB.com.

Strom is set to reunite with the team in New York this weekend during their three-game face-off against the Mets at Citi Field, where he’ll be assisting from the dugout.

Houston’s pitching has been one of the worst in the majors this year, with a 4.65 ERA ranking 25th among all 30 MLB franchises.

The Astros are sitting with a one-game lead in the AL West even though the club is at an even .500.

Espada viewed Strom as someone who can help the team right now, especially with his extensive experience.

“This is someone who’s had some of our guys — experience with young pitchers, veteran pitchers,” Espada said. “He’s been in the World Series with different organizations, and I felt like this is the right time to bring someone who can help us continue to move things forward and help us get our guys better and finish strong.”

Strom had been a major league pitching coach for Houston in 1996 and the Royals from 2000 to 2001. He spent five seasons as the minor league pitching coordinator for the Expos/Nationals organization and then later went to the Cardinals.

He joined the Astros again as pitching coach in 2014 and was there through 2021.

Jake Reiner Speaks Out: Exclusive Insight into Family Tragedy and the Path Ahead

    0

LOS ANGELES — In an emotional interview, Jake Reiner opened up about the harrowing experience of losing his parents just eight months ago, describing the period since their death as a “living nightmare.”

At 34, Jake stands as the eldest child of the famed director Rob Reiner and his wife, noted photographer Michele Reiner. The couple was brutally murdered in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025. Facing charges of double murder is Jake’s younger brother, Nick Reiner, who is 32.

“You can’t truly grasp the reality of such an ordeal until it becomes your life,” Jake shared with heartfelt candor. “Eight months have passed, yet it feels like an eternity while somehow also feeling like it’s all happened in just a fleeting moment. Each morning I wake up to face the shocking truth anew.”

A grand jury has indicted Nick Reiner on murder charges in the killings of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, and adds the allegation that he was lying in wait.

On the tragic day they were taken, Jake Reiner was attending a memorial event for a high school friend at Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles. Meanwhile, his sister Romy was trying to get in touch with him.

“Romy called, but I ignored it initially, figuring I could return her call later since I was busy at the time,” Jake recounted. “However, when she immediately called again, I knew right then that something terrible had happened.”

“Romy told me our dad was dead, and then she said, ‘I can’t find mom,'” he said.

Discover a power-packed, 12-minute strength routine curated by a certified CSCS trainer, specifically crafted for individuals over the age of 60.

    >

Many conventional hour-long workouts often fall flat, bogged down by complex machines and long wait times. In contrast, a focused 12-minute session can transform your exercise experience. Choosing the right exercises means directly targeting muscles that enhance your ability to stand taller, lift more effortlessly, and move with newfound confidence.

This efficient workout plan is tailored for those over 60 who seek to make each minute count without sacrificing progress. This is why I design concise workouts for my seasoned clients. Incorporating goblet squats delivers a robust challenge to the legs, rows strengthen the upper back and arms, and loaded marching ties together core stability, hip strength, and improved posture. The simplicity of these moves maximizes the session’s impact, ensuring it’s neither too complex nor overwhelming.

The routine consists of three exercises repeated over four rounds, striking a balance between simplicity and full-body engagement. Begin with a manageable dumbbell to maintain control and gradually increase weight as you gain strength with each round.

Outlined below is the entire 12-minute workout, complete with timing instructions for each round and essential tips to maximize the effectiveness of each exercise.

    The 12-Minute Total-Body Strength Routine

What you need: One dumbbell or kettlebell and enough space to stand, squat, march, and row comfortably.

    The Routine:

    1. Goblet Squat: 4 rounds of 40 seconds
    2. Staggered-Stance Single-Arm Dumbbell Row: 4 rounds of 40 seconds
    3. Goblet Hold Marching: 4 rounds of 40 seconds

    Directions

Set a timer for 12 minutes. Perform each exercise for 40 seconds, then rest for 20 seconds and switch positions. Move through all three exercises, then repeat the same sequence until you complete four total rounds.

5 Morning Exercises That Trim Upper Arms Faster Than Gym Machines After 65

    Goblet Squat

The goblet squat earns its place first because it gets the biggest muscles working right away. Holding the weight at your chest helps you stay upright while your hips and thighs drive the rep. For clients over 60, I like this version because the dumbbell gives the movement a clear center point. Sit between your feet, stand tall, and keep the rep smooth.

Muscles Trained: Quads, glutes, hamstrings, core, upper back.

    How to Do It

    1. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart.
    2. Hold one dumbbell or kettlebell at your chest.
    3. Brace your core lightly.
    4. Push your hips back and bend your knees.
    5. Lower to a comfortable depth.
    6. Press through your feet to stand tall.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 4 rounds of 40 seconds.

Best Variations: Bodyweight squat, box squat, lighter goblet squat.

Form Tip: Keep the weight close to your chest to keep your torso tall.

    Staggered-Stance Single-Arm Dumbbell Row

A good row can change how your whole upper body feels. This version uses a staggered stance so you can brace through your legs, hinge forward, and pull with control. The working arm trains your back and biceps while the rest of your body stays steady. Keep the dumbbell close to your ribs and avoid turning the rep into a twist.

Muscles Trained: Upper back, lats, rear delts, biceps, core.

    How to Do It

    1. Hold one dumbbell in your right hand.
    2. Step your left foot forward and your right foot back.
    3. Hinge forward slightly and place your left hand on your front thigh for support.
    4. Let the dumbbell hang under your right shoulder.
    5. Pull your elbow back toward your ribs.
    6. Lower the dumbbell with control and switch sides halfway through the interval.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 4 rounds of 40 seconds.

Best Variations: Chair-supported single-arm row, lighter dumbbell row, paused dumbbell row.

Form Tip: Drive your elbow back instead of shrugging your shoulder toward your ear.

4 Chair Exercises That Shrink Your Waistline Faster Than Gym Workouts After 60

    Goblet Hold Marching

By the time you reach the march, your legs and upper back have already done plenty of work. Now keep the dumbbell at your chest while your hips and core control each knee lift. This exercise looks simple, which is exactly why it works well here. Stay tall, move with purpose, and make each step feel balanced.

Muscles Trained: Abs, hip flexors, glutes, quads, upper back.

    How to Do It

    1. Stand tall and hold one dumbbell or kettlebell at your chest.
    2. Set your feet under your hips.
    3. Brace your core.
    4. Lift your right knee toward waist height.
    5. Lower your foot with control.
    6. Switch sides and continue alternating.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 4 rounds of 40 seconds.

Best Variations: Bodyweight march, lighter goblet hold march, supported march.

Form Tip: Keep your ribs stacked over your hips as each knee lifts.

4 Home Exercises That Rebuild Shoulder Strength Faster Than Gym Machines After 60

How to Make 12 Minutes Build More Strength After 60

A short routine works best when you keep the effort focused. Use this workout two to four days per week, depending on how your body feels between sessions. Pick a weight that lets you finish all four rounds with clean reps, then add load or a few extra reps once the final round feels steady. Twelve minutes can go a long way when the exercises are strong, and the pace stays honest.

    • Choose the right dumbbell: Use a weight that feels challenging but still lets you control every rep.
    • Keep transitions simple: Set the dumbbell down only when you need to reset or switch positions safely.
    • Own the last round: The final round should still look clean, even when your muscles feel tired.
    • Use support when needed: A chair, bench, or front thigh can help keep rows steady.
    • Rest between workout days: Give your muscles time to recover so the next session feels productive.
    • Build gradually: Add weight, time, or another weekly session once the routine feels strong.
