Matt Leinart Shares How ‘Lack of Confidence’ Ended His Date with Rihanna

0

While he was known for holding tight to the football during his college days, Matt Leinart recounts a different kind of fumble—a date with pop sensation Rihanna.

In a candid conversation on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Leinart revealed how a lack of confidence led to a less-than-stellar encounter with the future Grammy powerhouse, Rihanna.

When reminded of the encounter, Leinart could only lower his head, expressing with a wry smile, “Oh God, are we really diving into that topic?”

Patrick pressed for details on how things went awry on this high-profile date, to which Leinart confessed he simply wasn’t at the top of his game.

“Back then, I was just a young Matt, not brimming with confidence,” Leinart admitted during the show. “You might have assumed I had it all together, but in truth, I didn’t.”

In July, 2025, Leinart shocked the world when he revealed on his podcast, “Throwbacks,” that he took Rihanna on a date and blew it.

Leinart, 43, admitted that the reason he wasn’t feeling confident in himself was because of a blister that emerged on his lip the day of their date.

The former two-time national champion and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback told Patrick that prior to their brief time dating each other, the two were actually friends and met each other through a mutual friend.

“Her assistant, and sort of still right-hand girl, still to this day, I was friends with; she grew up with one of my best friends,” Leinart said.

While it’s been years since Leinart and Rihanna’s paths crossed in the dating scene, the pop star has moved on from the former USC legend, as she has three kids now with rapper A$AP Rocky.

Leinart is also happily married to former actress and attorney Josie Loren, and they have four children together, including their oldest son, Cole, who is on scholarship as a freshman quarterback at SMU.

Tragedy in Oregon: Family Seeks Answers After Shocking Murder-Suicide Unveiled

0

In the aftermath of a tragic murder-suicide in Oregon, the shattered families of the victims remember their loved ones, cherishing their passions for art, animals, and the natural world. Meanwhile, investigators remain at a loss as to why these lives were abruptly ended.

The deceased include Mary Elizabeth Kimsey, aged 85, her daughter Rowan Karla Kimsey, 60, granddaughter Stella Jade Kimsey, 26, Stella’s close friend Linsey Mae Haraldsen, 26, and Linsey’s partner Alvin Raymond Chu, 27. Authorities discovered their bodies early Saturday at a secluded property near Forest Grove.

Law enforcement officials suspect that Stella’s boyfriend, 36-year-old Benjamin Charles Parker, was responsible for these heinous acts. He allegedly fled to Washington state, where he died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound the next day.

Before his own death, Parker reportedly admitted to his mother that he had orchestrated the killings. His original plan was to target three individuals, but when two more people unexpectedly appeared at the scene, they too became victims of his violent spree.

Despite this confession, Parker never disclosed his reason for such brutality, leaving those closest to the victims grappling with unanswered questions and struggling to make sense of this unthinkable tragedy.

‘Our family is still trying to even come to terms with what has happened, and there are a lot of feelings of various kinds, predominantly profound loss and sadness,’ Stella’s sister Alexis Callen told The Oregonian.

Three generations of her family were wiped out.

Mary, the oldest victim, was remembered as the family’s beloved ‘matriarch,’ a deeply spiritual woman who cared passionately about people and the environment.

Linsey Mae Haraldsen, 26, was Stella’s best friend and was considered part of the Kimsey family after the pair spent years virtually inseparable

‘Mary was the matriarch of our wide and close knit family,’ relatives said.

‘She was a caring person to her family and her community. She was also a spiritual person who was an activist for people, nature and the earth.’

Her daughter Rowan was a talented artist who worked in both tattooing and traditional mediums and taught her skills to aspiring artists across the Pacific Northwest.

The family described her as ‘an incredibly talented and dedicated artist, traditional and tattoo,’ who ‘had a delightfully sharp wit and loved every new adventure.’

Stella, meanwhile, had found happiness living on the rural property alongside her mother.

She ‘was incredibly passionate and fiercely loving,’ Callen said.

‘Farm life was what she was born to do and she was never happier than when she was living out on the land,’ relatives added.

Haraldsen was Stella’s best friend but had become so close to the Kimseys that she was considered part of their family.

‘She was sweet and funny and she was the kind of friend to Stella and others that everyone deserves to have,’ Callen said.

Haraldsen’s relatives remembered her as a creative and colorful young woman.

‘Linsey was a beloved cousin, niece, sister, daughter and friend,’ they said.

‘She loved art and did mosaics with her mother. She had the best outfits – she was always wearing extravagant colors and patterns. She was full of life, and she will be dearly missed.’

Callen said she did not know Chu as well but added: ‘He must have been a very special person for Linsey to have loved him.’

Investigators believe the horrifying sequence of events began after Stella and Parker had a ‘horrible fight’ sometime Thursday night or early Friday.

Authorities said Mary later told an out-of-state friend that Stella had ordered Parker to leave.

Haraldsen was speaking with Stella on the phone when the call suddenly disconnected. Unable to reach her again, she called Rowan, who said she would check on her daughter, but Rowan never called back.

Haraldsen then traveled to the property herself.

When Mary could not reach any of the three women, she told her friend she would collect Chu and drive there too.

Investigators now believe Parker killed Stella first, then Rowan when she came to check on her daughter.

They believe Haraldsen was killed when she arrived looking for them, followed by Mary and Chu.

Mary, Rowan, Stella and Haraldsen were each shot multiple times, investigators said, while authorities believe Chu was killed in the same manner.

The massacre was only discovered after a neighbor spotted a fire shortly after 5am Saturday.

Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames and soon discovered two bodies, prompting them to retreat and summon law enforcement.

‘We do have a deceased victim here. We are going to need law enforcement,’ one firefighter said in dispatch audio obtained by KATU.

Deputies ultimately found all five victims in or around the driveway.

Chu was inside the burning vehicle, while Mary was found outside it. Stella was inside another car, Haraldsen was nearby and Rowan was found on a walkway close to the home.

Authorities allege Parker attempted to burn other bodies and tried unsuccessfully to set fire to the main house and a carport.

The killings also extended to the family’s animals.

Investigators said two dogs and two cats were shot dead, while another badly injured cat later had to be euthanized. Surviving livestock were rehomed.

‘They all adored animals, being out in nature and above all each other and their family,’ the Kimseys said.

Investigators managed to track Parker through cellphone records.

His phone left the property at 4:42am on Saturday and was switched off about half an hour later.

It resurfaced that evening near Enumclaw, Washington, where investigators say Parker called his mother.

During that conversation, he confessed to the killings, admitted shooting the animals and attempting to burn the property, and said the crime had been premeditated.

He told his mother he planned to kill himself rather than face the consequences.

On Sunday afternoon, police found the Toyota Tacoma Parker was driving in Enumclaw.

Parker was dead inside from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators recovered a .22-caliber handgun they believe was used in the killings.

His death means the families may never get the full explanation they desperately want.

‘Although we will not have the opportunity to hold the suspect accountable through the criminal justice process, we remain committed to providing Mary, Rowan, Stella, Linsey and Alvin’s families with a thorough investigation to provide them with any answers we can possibly learn,’ Detective Mark Povolny said.

Amid her grief, Callen also issued an extraordinary plea for compassion toward Parker’s family.

‘I am holding them very close in my heart, and I know that they are struggling with an unimaginable loss and trying to come to terms with something no one should ever have had to know about someone that they loved,’ she said.

She believes her sister, mother and grandmother would have wanted the same response.

‘They would want people to be, to be kind and respectful to his family,’ Callen said, ‘and they would want me to say that.’

Other pictures in the carousel show how close Parton and Seaver were as adults.

The pair not only shared a professional bond, in addition to a personal one.

Seaver is the executive director of the Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum and established the Dolly Archive.

The archive features iconic costumes, awards and personal treasures to help make sure her cultural impact endures.

‘Today, I embark on a new journey: a life without my most trusted confidant,’ Seaver went on. ‘My best friend, my favorite adventurer, my name-giver, my godmother, my precious Aunt Granny.’

Parton’s representatives confirmed the superstar’s death in a statement to People, sharing that the singer died following a ‘brief battle with cancer.’ They did not disclose what type of cancer it was.

Her death came following her husband of 60 years, Carl Dean’s death in 2025.

How should Dolly Parton’s legacy be honored and preserved for future generations?

On Wednesday, Parton’s goddaughter Miley Cyrus took to Instagram to share her pain with her 205 million followers, writing: ‘The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.’

Parton did a guest role on the pop star’s Disney Channel series Hannah Montana back in 2006.

Cyrus recently made a Disney+ concert special for the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana based on her life and career advice.

Despite keeping some of their most personal moments to herself, she continued the heartfelt caption by saying Parton’s presence will always be felt.

Cyrus continued: ‘What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis.

‘I will always love her and want to make her proud,’ she added. ‘My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things.’

ATF Probes Significant Cybersecurity Breach Amid Ransomware Group’s Attack Claim

0

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced on Wednesday that it is probing a cybersecurity breach involving a standalone system. Distinguished as a “major incident” under federal standards, this development has captured the attention of senior Justice Department officials.

This revelation surfaces as the Qilin ransomware group claims responsibility for targeting the ATF, according to cybersecurity analysts monitoring the group’s online activity. Although Qilin has yet to furnish evidence to back up its assertion, the ATF has not attributed the breach to this particular group.

The ATF has clarified that the compromised system functions independently of its main network. Investigations suggest that neither the agency’s broader network, its eForms system, nor any other ATF platforms have been impacted by this breach.

Upon uncovering the incident, the ATF swiftly isolated the affected environment and initiated thorough forensic and incident-response procedures. The bureau is working in conjunction with the Justice Department to dissect the details of this security lapse.

The agency did not identify the affected system, say when the incident was discovered or disclose whether any data was accessed or stolen.

Cybernews reported Wednesday that Qilin claimed ATF as its latest victim but had provided no evidence or details supporting the claim.

GalaxyWarden, a breach-monitoring service, separately reported that ATF appeared on Qilin’s leak site and that the group claimed it obtained files from the agency. GalaxyWarden said it had not independently verified the group’s assertions.

News Media reached out to ATF and the Justice Department for additional information, including whether officials believe Qilin was responsible for the incident, whether any data was accessed or stolen and what prompted officials to designate the event a “major incident.”

ATF said senior Justice Department officials designated the cybersecurity event a “major incident” under applicable federal guidelines and that required notifications have been completed.

FDA Grants Approval to Game-Changing Rasonque for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

0

In a significant medical breakthrough, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted approval to a new drug poised to enhance survival rates for individuals battling metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Revolution Medicines will market the drug as Rasonque, with its scientific designation of daraxonrasib. This innovative daily medication is designed to target the RAS protein family, notorious for its role in fueling tumor growth.

In an extensive clinical trial involving 500 participants, results were compelling. The median overall survival time for patients nearly doubled, reaching over 13 months, compared to about 6.7 months with traditional chemotherapy.

Dr. Brian Wolpin, head of the Hale Family Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, expressed the significance of this approval in a statement to ABC News, highlighting it as a landmark achievement born from years of dedication to targeting the KRAS pathway.

“This approval presents a novel treatment avenue and renewed hope for those suffering from metastatic pancreatic cancer,” Dr. Wolpin remarked, emphasizing that the breakthrough forms a vital foundation for further advances against one of the most challenging cancers known today.

About 95% of exocrine pancreatic cancers in the U.S. are pancreatic adenocarcinoma, according to the American Cancer Society.

Although pancreatic adenocarcinoma represents only about 3.2% of all cancer diagnoses, it accounts for a disproportionately high share of cancer deaths, according to the FDA.

This is due to several factors including late detection, aggressive disease course and historically limited treatment options, the federal health agency said.

In June 2025, the FDA granted the drug a “Breakthrough Therapy” designation. This allows for expedited development and review of drugs that treat serious conditions and have preliminary evidence showing substantial improvement over available treatments.

The application was reviewed under the Commissioner’s National Priority Voucher Program, initiated by former FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary. The review time was accelerated from 12 months to 10 months.

There is hope that this new type of targeted treatment will show benefits for other hard-to-treat cancers.

“This drug showed unprecedented results in an area of high unmet need,” Dr. Angelo de Claro, director of the FDA’s Oncology Center of Excellence, said in a press release. “The approval was granted 6.5 months before the user fee deadline, demonstrating the FDA’s commitment to accelerating the approval of new cancer treatments for patients with serious and life-threatening conditions.”

The FDA approval was granted for adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who have received at least one prior systemic therapy, or cancer treatments that target the entire body. Other drug candidates also include those getting multiagent systemic therapy, meaning two or more treatments.

Patients who participated in the clinical trial told “Good Morning America” in June that the drug renewed optimism about their prognoses.

One patient named Jim said that after beginning treatment with daraxonrasib, a tumor in his liver that had spread from his pancreas shrank significantly.

“The tumor that I had in my liver, which had spread from the pancreas, got reduced by 50%, which was incredible news,” he told “GMA.”

Warriors’ Tribute to Late NBA Coach Don Nelson for 2026-27 Season

0

This season, the Golden State Warriors will pay tribute to legendary NBA coach Don Nelson by wearing a commemorative patch on their uniforms. The patch will feature the word “NELLIE” across the shoulder, a heartfelt nod to their former coach.

On Wednesday, Golden State revealed plans for the tribute patch to honor Nelson, who passed away on August 9.

Nelson’s coaching legacy with the Warriors is notable, encompassing two distinct periods from 1988-1995 and 2006-2010, during which he secured 422 regular-season wins with the team.

Under his leadership, the Warriors made significant strides, reaching the playoffs six times and advancing to the Western Conference finals on three occasions.

Before his successful time with Golden State, Nelson had a remarkable career with the Milwaukee Bucks, achieving a 540-344 record from November 1976 through May 1987.

More From Thomas L. Murray

In 2010, Nelson became the NBA’s all-time winningest coach and eventually fell to second on that list in 2022, when Gregg Popovich surpassed him. Nelson had 1,335 regular-season victories, and Popovich had 1,390.

Although Nelson never won an NBA Finals, one of his most iconic moments as a coach came in 2007 when he sparked his Golden State team with “We believe.” The Warriors eliminated a 67-win Mavericks team from the playoffs and became the first eighth-seeded team to eliminate a top-seeded team in a seven-game playoff series.

The game differential of the Warriors over the Mavericks went on to become the largest by a team to do so in a playoff series.

Nelson’s final major contribution to the Warriors came in 2009, when he laid the foundation for the franchise’s dynasty.

At the time, it was viewed as a “long shot,” but the Warriors selected Steph Curry with the seventh overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft based on Nelson’s recommendation. The franchise went on to win four NBA titles in 2015, 2018, 2018 and 2022 behind the game’s greatest shooter.

Russian Tennis Star’s Viral Rant Exposes US Open Flight Ordeal

0

Tennis sensation Anastasia Potapova, originally from Russia, recently unleashed her frustration on social media, taking aim at a United Airlines flight attendant due to a reportedly distressing experience ahead of the US Open.

Ranked 28th globally, Potapova turned to social platforms to voice her grievances regarding the service she claims to have encountered on her journey from Houston to New York, accompanied by her loyal canine companion.

At 25, Potapova has opted to represent Austria in her tennis endeavors, transitioning her nationality just as the women’s singles competition at Flushing Meadows approaches.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Potapova confessed, ‘I’ve never been compelled to make such a public statement before, but this time, silence isn’t an option.’

As an athlete who frequently globetrots, Potapova expressed disbelief over the unprecedented level of disrespect, impoliteness, and perceived bias she faced during this particular flight.

‘To me, flight attendants are supposed to be there to help passengers, not create problems for them.

‘Today, on my flight from Houston to New York, flight UA678, I encountered a flight attendant who repeatedly seemed to go out of her way to cause problems for me for no apparent reason.

‘She was extremely rude both to me personally and in the way she treated my dog. She also repeatedly brought up my status and threatened to remove me from the flight because of it.

‘Her name is Mary. I truly hope that your airline will look into this situation and take it seriously, because no passenger — and no animal — deserves to be treated in such a humiliating and disrespectful way, especially by a member of the cabin crew.’

Potapova also shared a photo of the flight attendant she was complaining about, then shared a reply from a follower claiming she ‘had the same problem with that same woman’ and alleging the message was ‘one of many’.

The tennis star, who knocked American Coco Gauff out of the French Open earlier this year, revealed she was ‘in conversation’ with United Airlines and added: ‘I really appreciate quick reaction to OUR problem.’

Potapova reached the second round of the US Open singles draw last year, losing to Mirra Andreeva. She reached a career-best third round in New York in 2024.

It has been a strong year so far, reaching the fourth round at Roland Garros after beating Gauff and becoming the first lucky loser to reach a WTA 1000 semifinal before losing to Marta Kostyuk at the Madrid Open.

She was previously married to fellow tennis star Alexander Shevchenko, but they divorced after the 2024 US Open.

Opening up on their split in an interview with Bolshe in 2025, she said:  ‘I made some shockingly big decisions at the end of the year. But like I mentioned, that’s life.

Unfortunately, things like that happen and you have to accept it. Of course, I’m very disappointed it all went the way it did.’

‘I really wish Sasha – I can say it on camera, I’m not ashamed of these words – I really wish him all the best, and he deserves all the best. I wish him all the best with his career, as well, because he’s very talented and he has to keep working and developing as a player. But I guess we had problems; some couples get over these problems, and some don’t. Unfortunately, we were one of the couples that didn’t.’

‘My team, my close ones, even me, we were all shocked by how mentally strong I could be.

‘Every other person came to me and asked, ‘So what, you two broke up?’ On tour, outside the tour. Of course, it’s not really polite, but it’s life and people are curious. It’s like a TV show for them.

‘I think I needed to put an end to it, to end things officially, so I wouldn’t get those questions anymore. I think that was the last step I needed to finally set myself free.’

Brooklyn Beckham Stands Up for Nicola Against Body-Shamers

Brooklyn Beckham has stepped up to defend his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, against online criticism.

At 27, Brooklyn took to Instagram on Tuesday, August 25, sharing a video of himself crafting a cottage pie. However, the wholesome post was met with an unkind comment about Nicola’s appearance, stating, “Do you comment on everyone who is concerned about your wife and how sickly she looks? She puts herself out there; feed her.”

Not one to hold back, Brooklyn addressed the unnecessary critique, firmly responding, “Don’t ever talk about my wife. She’s absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman’s body.” He further condemned the comment as “disgraceful.”

Brooklyn and Nicola, 31, began their romantic journey in 2019. Just after six months of dating, Brooklyn proposed to the model. Their love story led them to a beautiful wedding ceremony in Florida, April 2022, with a vow renewal following in August 2025.

Earlier this year, it was reported by People that Nicola underwent a “physical transformation and intense workout regimen” for her upcoming role as Margo in the film Prima. In this role, she portrays a ballerina raised by her grandmother.

She later opened up to Elle about the role in March, saying, “I’m a huge fan of [director] Ryan [Murphy] and his worlds. I dreamed of working with him.”

Nicola Peltz Beckham is looking forward — not back — amid her husband Brooklyn Beckham’s ongoing family drama. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, March 5, Nicola, 31, was asked how she’s “navigated” the attention on the familial estrangement. “I’ve been editing my next film [Prima] for the past two and a half […]

She continued, “When he called and explained that I was going to play the younger version of Isabella Rossellini, I was incredibly excited. I received the script, but I only got to read my episode. So Brooklyn and I watched the series at home when it premiered. And we were blown away!” (A release date for the film has not yet been announced.)

She also got candid about being in the spotlight and trying to brush off the negative comments about herself. “I’m very sensitive, and I need to work on not reading everything: online news, social media comments,” she explained. “I try not to pay attention to what people say, but it affects me. I need to learn to distance myself.”

Engaging in exercises on your bed can be a fantastic solution for those experiencing limited mobility or stiffness. These exercises offer numerous advantages, such as enhancing muscle strength, boosting circulation, and providing a thorough stretch for your joints. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or just beginning your fitness journey, bed-based workouts can be an effective and accessible option to get you on the right track.

As we age, it becomes increasingly important to focus on strengthening the thighs. These muscles play a vital role in activities such as walking, maintaining balance, and transitioning from sitting to standing.

To provide guidance, we reached out to Meera Watts, Founder and CEO of Siddhi Yoga. She specializes in empowering individuals to build strength without the necessity of a comprehensive gym setup.

“Bed exercises provide a gentle yet effective way to strengthen the thighs while honing control and body awareness—especially beneficial for those over 60,” Meera explains. “These exercises are not mere watered-down versions of gym routines. They serve as an excellent beginning for anyone focused on regaining strength, recovering from periods of inactivity, or cautiously reintroducing movement. The objective is to foster strength while honoring your current physical state.”

Here with five bed exercises that can restore thigh strength faster than squats after 60. Together, these moves work the front, back, inner, and outer thigh muscles while training flexibility and control.

  3. Lift your right leg off the mattress and bring that knee in toward your chest.
  4. Slowly extend your right leg, reaching that heel away from your body.
  5. Bring it back in.
