Karen Read Files Bombshell Lawsuit Against State and Canton Police, Court Documents Reveal

0

Karen Read, a Boston resident recently acquitted of murder charges in the death of her police officer boyfriend, is making headlines again as she heads back to court. Read has initiated a new lawsuit against the Town of Canton and the Massachusetts State Police, citing alleged failures in the investigation process.

The lawsuit, consisting of 87 pages and obtained by News Media, was filed in Bristol Superior Court on Thursday morning. It claims that both organizations suffer from “an entrenched culture of bigotry, misogyny, systemic failures, and institutional decay.”

Included in the court documents are a series of messages filled with expletives that were exchanged between the case’s former lead investigator, ex-Trooper Michael Proctor, and former Canton Police Sergeant Sean Goode. The lawsuit points to these messages as evidence of widespread misconduct and negligence in the investigation into John O’Keefe’s death in 2022.

One particularly concerning text from Goode, as revealed in the documents, stated, “[S]he’s a jew…so def puts out.”

The filing also points to messages allegedly sent by Proctor, in which he referred to Read as a “retarded,” “whack job c—,” with “no a–.”

The text messages also include a slew of alleged derogatory remarks toward Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, referring to Wu as a “little c—-” and Kraft as a “terrible c—– Jew.”

“Put simply, they were then and are now completely and unquestionably unfit to hold positions of authority with MSP and CPD, much less to play important roles — or in Ms. Read’s case, the primary role — in homicide investigations,” the court filing added.

In a statement released to the media, attorneys Alan Jackson, Damon Seligson and Aaron Rosenberg alleged the two law enforcement agencies fostered “a culture of bias and corruption that they built, tolerated, and hid from the public for years.”

“Michael Proctor and Sean Goode did not slip through the cracks; they are emblematic of the failure to responsibly exercise the trust and faith the public puts in these institutions,” the attorneys added.

Read was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges last year following a mistrial in the death of O’Keefe.

In a statement to News Media, MSP Col. Geoffrey Noble condemned the alleged comments made by Proctor.

“These disturbing messages are entirely inconsistent with any basic standard of decency and certainly with the expectations of a Massachusetts State Trooper,” Noble said. “These racist, sexist and abhorrent comments absolutely do not reflect the values of the Massachusetts State Police and are not tolerated within our ranks. They underscore and fully support my decision to terminate Michael Proctor.”

“We do so keenly aware of the ways in which this misconduct harmed the public trust on which our mission depends,” he added.

At the time, prosecutors alleged Read drunkenly struck O’Keefe with her SUV and left him to freeze to death in the snowy front yard of a friend’s home in nearby Canton. However, her defense team successfully argued that Read was not responsible for O’Keefe’s death.

The development comes just days after Goode, who responded to the scene of O’Keefe’s death and testified in Read’s first trial, resigned from the Canton Police Department following an investigation into alleged misconduct, according to Boston 25. Authorities have not revealed if the probe is connected to Read’s case.

In 2025, Proctor was fired from his position within the state police after his text messages sent about Read were read in her first trial.

Read is also facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by O’Keefe’s family, and has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against multiple witnesses who testified against her in both murder trials.

“Karen Read was acquitted of every charge related to John O’Keefe’s death — and now the agencies that negligently permitted virulent misogynists and bigots to target her will answer for what they built, what they concealed, and what they did to her,” Read’s attorneys wrote. “The days of hiding behind badges and promotions while peddling vile bigotry are over. The truth is coming, and with it an unflinching reckoning.”

News Media reached out to the Town of Canton, Massachusetts State Police and Read’s attorneys for comment.

Explosive Marine Drone Incident Triggers Evacuation at Romanian NATO Port

0

A marine drone, typically deployed in the conflict involving Ukraine, has triggered a significant explosion after striking Constanța’s main port in Romania, a NATO member.

Although the incident was contained, video footage captured thick smoke billowing from the unmanned vessel in the Black Sea port. The drone reportedly “self-detonated” near an oil terminal at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time.

Ukraine has acknowledged that the naval drone was theirs, explaining that it was diverted off course by Russian interference. Russian forces allegedly disrupted its communications, causing it to drift into Romanian waters.

The Ukrainian navy stated, “During operations in the Black Sea, one of our unmanned surface vessels came under the enemy’s electronic warfare systems, lost control, and ended up near Romania’s coast.”

In response, they informed the Romanian Navy about the errant drone to prevent any harm to civilians.

The Russian Embassy had initially suggested the drone belonged to Ukraine, adding that ‘any attempts to directly or indirectly associate these drones with Russia and to attribute responsibility for the incident to it are groundless’.

But Romania’s president Nicușor Dan called the incident a ‘direct consequence of the war of aggression unleashed by Russia against Ukraine’.

The Black Sea port was urgently evacuated as well as local beaches amid fears of three more sea drones approaching, with as many as a thousand people being moved to safety outside the one kilometre exclusion zone around the explosion.

A marine drone – similar to the ones used in the Ukraine war – has caused a major explosion after hitting the main port of Constanța in NATO state Romania

No casualties have been confirmed and authorities said this was ‘strictly preventive in nature and being adopted exclusively to eliminate any potential risk to the population’.

It is believed there may be further drones floating out at sea, with potentially two explosions spotted on the water by a commercial crew, per local outlet G4Media.

Restrictions have reportedly since eased, with the evacuation of nearby beaches being lifted and the country’s ‘Red Intervention Plan’ being deactivated.

Staff in local hospitals were also temporarily alerted to prepare for an emergency, bringing in extra staff.

President Dan said that authorities ‘acted quickly and preventively’, adding that ‘with a military conflict on the border, it is obvious that the security environment we are in is a sensitive one, which is why we will maintain a high level of vigilance’.

Romania shares a shares a 400-mile border with Ukraine, with the civilian and naval port around 100 miles south of this boundary.

‘The maritime drone is of the type used in the war in Ukraine,’ said the NATO state’s defence ministry this morning.

‘The situation is dynamic and we will return with information and official data as they become available.’

The explosion is believed to have been triggered by a self timer after the sea drone had been ‘secured and isolated’ by forces of the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Coast Guard and the Ministry of National Defence. An investigation is now underway.

An ‘extreme’ RO Alert was then issued with an order to evacuate people within a one kilometre radius amid reports ‘three more maritime drones heading towards the port’.

The alert stated: ‘Evacuate the area within a radius of 1 km in the coastal area of the Port of Constanta.

‘Stay calm! Take shelter in cellars or civil protection shelters. In the absence of shelter, stay inside the house, away from windows and external walls.’

Head of the department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, told a press conference this afternoon that ‘there is a possibility that there may be other drones’, with helicopters deployed to search for the boats potentially lost at sea.

‘We are not panicking, the measures are purely preventative,’ he clarified earlier today.

An emergencies chief said: ‘There is a possibility that there may be other drones in the area, which is why the RO Alert message was issued for Constanţa and Tulcea counties.

‘We decided to preventatively evacuate the coastal area for one kilometre until we ensure that there is no risk of another explosion.’

President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said: ‘One week after a drone crashed into an apartment building in Galați, a maritime drone today reached the port of Constanța.

‘This is a direct consequence of Russia’s war against Ukraine. It is increasingly becoming a direct threat to countries on our Eastern border.

Our solidarity with every Member State exposed to these threats is absolute. And our response must match the urgency.

‘Europe is investing massively in anti-drone capabilities, air defence and early warning systems. SAFE will help build a stronger Romania. And a stronger Europe.’

The Russian embassy posted on their Facebook: ‘Given the intentionally incomplete information disseminated by the Romanian Ministry of National Defense regarding the maritime drone that exploded in the port of Constanta, as well as three other similar drones drifting towards Romanian territorial waters, the Russian Embassy in Romania informs the Romanian public that these are Ukrainian unmanned maritime vehicles, used by the Kiev regime to commit terrorist acts against civilian ships and to create threats to the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.

‘Any attempts to directly or indirectly associate these drones with Russia and to attribute responsibility for the incident to it are groundless.’

The explosion comes just days after a Russian drone crashed into an apartment block in Galati, a city in southeastern Romoania close to the border with Ukraine.

Two people were injured and it was the first time that a drone had struck a densely populated area in a NATO state during the conflict in Ukraine.

The 35-year-old Victoria’s Secret model and former One Direction member, who is now 31, began their romance in mid-2017, only to part ways a year later.

Although the exact cause of their breakup was never officially disclosed, it was widely speculated that their busy work schedules played a significant role in the separation.

Harry’s track “Cherry” from his 2019 album “Fine Line” is said to be inspired by their split, featuring a poignant voicemail from the French-American model herself.

Camille has now joyfully announced that she is expecting a child with her partner, Theo Niarchos, who is 34 years old.

Kate, 51, who had been with Nikolai since 2015, did not attend the event, and the outing sparked widespread gossip given the famously bohemian nature of the London-Paris fashion set in which all three move.

Tragic Farewell: ‘Jumanji’ Star James Handy’s Last Public Appearance Before Shocking Incident

James Handy, known for his role in “Jumanji,” was last seen publicly in 2017, nearly ten years before he tragically lost his life in a stabbing incident involving his girlfriend’s son.

Captured in a photograph dated September 24, 2017, Handy was seated alongside the cast of the mockumentary comedy “Senior Entourage,” released in 2021. The ensemble included notable figures such as David Lockhart, Ed Asner, Mark Rydell, and Helen Reddy, as well as the film’s director, Brian Connors.

This gathering took place at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California, during an early-stage concept event for the film, which eventually premiered four years later.

For his final public appearance, Handy was dressed in a stylish button-down shirt paired with black pants and matching shoes.

In “Senior Entourage,” the late actor portrayed the character Father MacGuffin, in a film often described as the “Seinfeld” for the senior crowd.

Connors directed the independent film, which did not have a wide theatrical release.

Nottingham Forest’s Ambitious £150m Transfer Strategy: Targeting Six Key Signings, Including a £40m Juventus Striker and Promising Young Talent

Nottingham Forest is aiming to secure a British-record transfer fee for Elliot Anderson, with the intention of using these funds to build a squad capable of competing for European spots once more.

Club owner Evangelos Marinakis is convinced that the current roster, which he has carefully assembled, should be far from relegation battles like last season. He is prepared to invest an additional £150 million or even more to prevent a repeat of such struggles after Anderson’s departure.

Last week, Manchester City initiated their long-awaited interest in the England midfielder. In response, Nottingham Forest has set the bar high, referencing Moises Caicedo’s record £115 million transfer from Brighton to Chelsea as a benchmark for Anderson’s valuation.

With Anderson’s exit on the horizon, Forest is not only looking to replace him with a younger, defensively-minded midfielder but is also keen on acquiring a versatile box-to-box player, a central defender, and a striker to strengthen their squad.

As much as £40 million might be allocated for securing a target man. The absence of Chris Wood, due to injury, disrupted their attack last season. Despite the efforts of Taiwo Awoniyi, Igor Jesus, and Lorenzo Lucca, the trio struggled to find the back of the net consistently in the Premier League. After Wood’s impressive 20 league goals in the previous year helped Forest achieve a seventh-place finish, the combined tally of Wood, Awoniyi, Jesus, and Lucca was a mere 14 in the 2025-26 season.

Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta has been discussed but the France striker would prefer a move to Italy. Juventus have revived their interest in Mateta, and in turn that could open the door for Forest to try for the Italian side’s Belgium striker Lois Openda.

Forest are also in discussions with Eintracht Frankfurt over terms on Arnaud Kalimuendo’s sale. Frankfurt have an option to buy the former Paris Saint-Germain and Rennes forward following his loan, but the Bundesliga club have been looking to pay a lower fee.

It is possible that the French 24-year-old returns to the City Ground but failing that, they would like another skilful, playmaker-type forward to play off the target man. Bologna’s Santiago Castro is one who has been suggested to them but other options are being considered.

With Everton looking to be in pole position for Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney, Forest have once again considered Celtic’s Arne Engels, who they bid £26m for in January.

Amadou Kone, who plays for Saudi Pro League side Neom, has been discussed as have Hibernian standout Josh Mulligan and Rangers youngster Bailey Rice. A move for Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi could be revived but his preference last time was to stay in Italy.

England Under 21s international James McAtee is expected to stay after a middling first season since joining from Manchester City.

And so too is Morgan Gibbs-White. The 26-year-old was put on a new deal after Tottenham triggered his release clause last year and has had another strong and influential season, despite the view of England coach Thomas Tuchel, scoring 15 Premier League goals.

Spurs, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester United are all among Gibbs-White’s admirers but they already have players in his favoured position. More could develop as the window progresses, particularly if Arsenal and Chelsea activate interest in Villa’s Morgan Rogers. However, Forest want him to give it at least one more year.

Belgium's Lois Openda could become available for Forest if his club, Juventus, can wrap up a deal for Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta

In defence, offers are expected for Murillo. Forest’s Brazilian was previously courted by Real Madrid, but has had a hamstring injury which has slowed interest.

Forest are actively looking for a left-sided centre back who could replace the 23-year-old, who did not make it into the Brazil World Cup squad.

Roma’s Poland international defender Jan Ziolkowski is one who has drawn enquiries, as have Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi and Arthur Theate at Frankfurt. A key characteristic that Forest are looking for is experience and a player who could come in and start straight away for them.

They also want goalkeeper cover, ideally a homegrown one under the age of 21, who could push the more experienced ones, and cover at right back. An attack-minded profile is desired who can impact off the bench for 15 minutes per game.

After a season of four managers, epic nights in Europe, boardroom tensions and a battle for survival, Forest could do without another roller-coaster campaign.

It may make for good television, but Marinakis would like to see more stability for his investment.

He still exerts influence even though he placed his shares into a blind trust for the second successive year in March, as Forest moved to avoid any conflict over multi-club ownership.

Forest were complying with UEFA regulations after Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos in his homeland, suspended his interest in the club before the March 1 deadline.

Marinakis bought Forest in May 2017 and remains committed but a blind trust is an arrangement where a trustor gives a third party control over their assets to avoid a conflict of interests.

This is particularly necessary to avoid a penalty from UEFA if Forest and Olympiacos were to qualify for the same European competition, which is not allowed if two teams are owned by the same person or group.

Global technical director George Syrianos will lead Forest’s recruitment strategy this summer alongside head of recruitment Pedro Ferreira and Marinakis, as they look to keep a core group together and kick on under the savvy Pereira.

Playing soothsayer, Pereira, with safety barely secured last month, warned: ‘The teams who commit mistakes in pre-season, usually, they pay the bill.’

Breaking News: GOP Proposal Aims to Gradually End U.S. Military Aid to Israel

0

Republican Representatives Marlin Stutzman from Indiana and Abe Hamadeh of Arizona have put forth a resolution proposing a gradual end to the $3.8 billion annual U.S. military aid to Israel. Instead, they aim to establish a new model emphasizing trade, joint technology ventures, and strategic collaboration. This initiative has received the backing of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Wednesday, the lawmakers introduced this nonbinding resolution, which calls for both nations to draft a new memorandum of understanding before the current ten-year deal concludes in 2028. The plan suggests a shift from direct military aid to a framework focusing on joint defense efforts, co-development projects, co-production, and shared investments.

This proposal has the endorsement of Netanyahu.

After meeting with Stutzman and Hamadeh in Jerusalem on May 27, Netanyahu expressed his support in a letter dated June 1. He highlighted his enthusiasm for transitioning the U.S.-Israel relationship from a dependency on aid to one of mutual partnership.

“Israel greatly values the financial support the United States has generously provided through military aid over the years,” Netanyahu stated in his letter.

“Israel deeply appreciates the financial component of the military aid the United States has generously provided us over the years,” Netanyahu wrote.

“The time has now arrived for us to move from aid recipient to partner.”

Netanyahu added that he was encouraged by the proposal’s call for a new framework of “joint defense cooperation, codevelopment, coproduction and mutual investment in areas including advanced missile defense, artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, cybersecurity and next generation military platforms.”

Stutzman said the proposal reflects both Israel’s growing economic strength and the evolving nature of the alliance between Jerusalem and Washington.

“The idea is to take the relationship between two great allies, the United States and Israel, to a more mature relationship with a trade agreement, a defense agreement, rather than supplemental aid from the United States to Israel,” Stutzman told the Jerusalem Post.

Recalling his recent meeting with Netanyahu, Stutzman said the prime minister emphasized that Israel’s economy is approaching $1 trillion in gross domestic product and that the country is increasingly capable of standing on its own.

“Israel is a superpower in the Middle East,” Stutzman said. “I can’t think of a greater ally to the United States than Israel.”

Netanyahu has publicly advocated reducing Israel’s reliance on American military aid for more than a year, arguing that Israel’s growing economic and technological strength makes a transition toward a more equal partnership both possible and desirable.

In a CBS News interview last month, Netanyahu said he wanted to “draw down to zero” the financial component of U.S. military assistance.

“It’s time that we wean ourselves from the remaining military support,” he said, adding that he wanted the process to begin immediately and unfold over the next decade.

Promoting the resolution on Wednesday, Hamadeh described the proposal as the next phase of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

“Thanks to President Trump and the Abraham Accords, America and Israel are shifting from aid to a true strategic partnership in economic cooperation and defense innovation,” Hamadeh wrote on X.

“The next chapter is here: Aid to Trade.”

The proposal aligns with broader discussions already underway regarding the next U.S.-Israel memorandum of understanding.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee indicated this week that a future agreement could move in that direction, writing on X that a new MOU with Israel “ends aid & will be based on trade.”

The current U.S.-Israel memorandum of understanding, signed in 2016, provides Israel with $38 billion in military assistance over a ten-year period and expires in 2028.

While Stutzman’s resolution would not alter that agreement, supporters argue it lays the groundwork for a future relationship built less on direct assistance and more on shared strategic interests, defense cooperation, technological innovation, and trade.

Jessica Treska Discusses Potential for ‘Euphoria’ Daisy Spinoff Following Rue’s Death

The third season of Euphoria has captivated audiences by introducing Daisy, a captivating new character and friend to Rue. This development raises the question: could the talented Jessica Treska, who plays Daisy, helm her own spinoff series?

“It’s incredibly surprising to me that I’ve made such an impression and that Daisy is generating so much discussion,” Treska, 23, shared in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. “While we were filming, we joked about a spinoff for the farm family, but I never actually expected anyone to seriously suggest it post-airing.”

Treska was genuinely astonished by the overwhelming online response to Daisy’s scenes.

“The fact that people are even mentioning it is so exciting and unexpected,” she continued. “I would absolutely love to pursue that, though I’m keeping my expectations in check. I think this might be the final chapter for Daisy and the rest of the show’s characters—though dreaming is always allowed.”

Jessica Treska

The third season of Euphoria not only brings back original stars like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi but also introduces fresh faces, including Toby Wallace, Anna Van Patten, and Jessica Treska. Since its debut in 2019, Euphoria has followed Rue, a troubled high school student played by Zendaya, as she navigates the challenges of staying sober post-rehab. […]

Season 3, which concluded late last month, began with Rue (Zendaya) staying at a homestead near the U.S. and Mexico border. The hit HBO series briefly touched on the bond Rue formed with the religious family that resided there — including their sheltered daughter Daisy.

“When I [auditioned] I was told who Daisy was in the sense that she lives on a farm and she doesn’t have any connection to the outside world. The backstory was there and the perspective was already there. It was easy to pull from that,” Treska recalled. “You always have to pull from yourself when you’re playing a character. What you bring to the table is you bring yourself if you had grown up how they grew up. So I just tried to portray what I would be like, which is a gentle, soft, kind and curious human.”

Jessica Treska Addresses Odds of Daisy Spinoff
HBO

Treska originally had no idea the role Daisy would ultimately play in Rue’s story line, adding, “It was a very under the wraps production. So when the audition came in, I actually had no idea that it was a role opposite Zendaya. … I had to film it a few times while trying to get my look down and I guess it finally worked.”

While discussing her experience on the show, Treska praised Zendaya as her scene partner.

“She was an incredible human being and an incredible actress. It took 10 seconds for her to be in between laughing with me to being in Rue’s head. She is so talented and was so great,” she recalled. “I feel like I got to know her relatively well when I would have to drive her in the scene all the way there and the entire drive back we would be talking. That helped us have that connection that Rue and Daisy would have.”

Sydney Sweeney 01 Euphoria Cast Then and Now

Euphoria fans have watched the cast change on and off screen since the series first debuted. Based on the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria follows troubled high school student Rue (Zendaya) as she struggled to remain sober after rehab. The series also explores topics including mental illness, toxic relationships, sexuality and more. After […]

It was that onscreen bond that ultimately contributed to Daisy’s emotional reaction when she found out Rue died. For Treska, the most difficult part was not spoiling the shocking ending amid the wait for season 3 to premiere on HBO.

“My friends constantly were theorizing and talking to me about it. They were trying to read my facial expressions but even to them, I stayed true. I didn’t tell anyone,” she shared. “Because I know how it works. One person knows and then it’s just a game of telephone. It was hard to keep it a secret though.”

Jessica Treska

For Daisy, meanwhile, the realization about Rue’s death will likely alter her world moving forward, with Treska adding, “It’s the first time that she’s experienced tragedy like that — especially for someone that she cared so much about. She’s waiting that whole time so it really, really hit her hard to hear that news. It’s the first time that she’s experienced that so she’s definitely going to mature from it. But I also think it’s interesting how she got to see a piece of that world.”

She continued: “There’s a lot that is probably going through Daisy’s mind. … I’m envisioning her having conversations with her dad and her mom afterwards and being like, ‘I thought you guys taught me about the world as being good and God is everywhere. How could something like this happen to someone who’s so beautiful and someone I love so much?’ I can see her having a conflict with her parents in that way and wanting to see what the real world is like. Obviously, it’s not this perfect picture that they’ve painted. I can totally see her being curious and wanting to go out there and see for herself.”

Looking back at that final scene with Daisy, Treska shared what she hoped viewers took away from it, telling Us, “Faith and hope and belief in something greater than yourself that is good and that there is something after this life can literally take you out of the deepest depths. With Rue and what she’s going through, it lifted her out of that. The biggest part of that is taking you out of your own guilt. That’s one of the worst sufferings is feeling like you’ve done wrong in this world. Rue was able to search for redemption and her story is so unique. But that same faith touches Daisy. It can just look so different in everyone’s lives.”

Euphoria is currently streaming on HBO Max.

Emily’s performance has been praised as ‘incredible’ as she stars alongside Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth , Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo in the David Koepp screenplay.

It was first reported in April 2024 that Spielberg’s next project would be a UFO movie, with filming taking place from February to May last year in New York, New Jersey and Atlanta.

After a press viewing, one senior entertainment reporter wrote on X: ‘I loved Disclosure Day. A dense roller-coaster ride blending chase film, love story, & mystery, all wrapped in sci-fi wonder.

‘It’s Spielberg’s best film in 20 years, filled w/ all the magic that makes his films so special, plus an all-time character/performance by Emily Blunt.’

Meanwhile, Collider’s Editor-in-Chief, Steven Weintraub, wrote: ‘In a shock to absolutely no one, Steven Spielberg has delivered another towering home run with Disclosure Day.

‘I could go on and on about what I loved, but I was lucky enough to see the movie knowing almost nothing, and I strongly recommend you do the same. Stop watching the trailers. The one thing I will say: Emily Blunt is incredible.

‘I know big summer movies aren’t usually the kinds of performances that get awards-season attention, but once people see what she does in this…’

Elsewhere, film reporter Bill Bria also praised Emily’s ‘accomplished performance’, and called the movie ‘riveting, moving stuff.’

Rotten Tomatoes, meanwhile, branded Disclosure Day ‘absolutely phenomenal’, with their reviewer penning: ‘I was hanging onto every word, captivated by the story as it all played out.

‘The score perfectly elevates every single scene. Part mystery, part Twilight Zone, something new entirely…WOW.’

Disclosure Day marks the 37th film that Spielberg has directed.

A synopsis for the film reads: ‘If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?

‘This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to… Disclosure Day.’

Spielberg’s fascination with UFOs and outer space began in childhood, when his father woke him one night to watch the Perseid meteor shower from a field near their home in Haddon Heights, New Jersey.

That early wonder inspired his first amateur film project at just 17, a 1964 feature-length sci-fi movie called Firelight, which he screened at a local Phoenix theatre for family and friends, charging $1 per ticket.

That film seemed to set the director on the path about the unknown, as his 1977 Close Encounters Of The Third Kind was released, followed by E.T. in 1982.

Both films were blockbuster hits, with E.T. becoming the highest-grossing film of all time for over a decade, surpassing Star Wars.

More recently, in 2005, Spielberg revamped the timeless War Of The Worlds, which was one of that year’s top films.

He has returned to his roots with Disclosure Day, which is based on his original story, but was penned by Koepp, who helped write Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, and War Of The Worlds.

In December, the first trailer offered a tantalizing glimpse into the story that promises to shake the world with revelations about alien life, while keeping much of the plot shrouded in mystery.

Clocking in at two minutes and seven seconds, the teaser opened with a haunting question: ‘If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?’

Viewers are then thrust into Emily’s world, as she portrays a meteorologist abruptly seized by a mysterious extraterrestrial force during a live broadcast.

While Josh plays a determined man on a mission to reveal the truth about alien life to the world.

The trailer is packed with cryptic crop circles, high-speed chases, eerie creatures and chilling hints that humanity may not be alone in the universe.

Adding to the buzz, cryptic billboards appeared in Times Square and Los Angeles on December 10, bearing the message: ‘All will be disclosed – Spielberg 06.12.26.’

Missing Couple’s Dinghy Found by Coast Guard Near Bahamas

0

HOPE TOWN, Bahamas – In a significant development in the search for Lynette Hooker, the U.S. Coast Guard has secured the dinghy that she and her husband, Brian Hooker, used on the night of her disappearance. This information was confirmed by a U.S. official familiar with the ongoing investigation.

The Coast Guard was able to bring the dinghy aboard their vessel as they intensify efforts to uncover new leads in Lynette’s mysterious disappearance.

According to Brian Hooker, Lynette fell from the dinghy as they were heading to their sailboat, named Soulmate, back in April. Since that night, there has been no trace of her.

“At this point they will leave no stone unturned. The investigators will backtrack into the last known moment that she was seen based on hard evidence. Then they’ll move forward from there,” said Nicole Parker, former FBI special agent and Fox News contributor.

Brian initially told police his wife went overboard from a dinghy boat and she was swept away by the currents, while he was able to paddle to shore.

As for why officials are also conducting a search for clues on land versus in the water? Parker said it all comes down to ruling out all possible scenarios.

“It would’ve been easy to get rid of her in a remote location at sea or if there are other theories popping up, they [investigators] won’t rule those out,” she said.

Approaching Super El Niño: Surge of Warm Pacific Waters Signals Imminent Climate Shift

0

A vast expanse of unusually warm water, stretching across hundreds of miles, has made its presence known in the Pacific Ocean, according to NASA’s latest findings.

Leveraging satellite observations, NASA pinpointed this warm water mass situated off the South American coastline.

Alarmingly, scientists caution that this development could herald the onset of a Super El Niño event ‘later in the year.’

NASA elaborated, “Before the emergence of an El Niño, waves of elevated, warmer water travel eastward across the Pacific. Several such instances have been identified in the 2026 satellite data.”

The El Niño phenomenon is a natural cycle that has been influencing global weather patterns for hundreds of thousands of years.

However, current signs point to this year being one of the strongest El Niño patterns ever recorded.

Experts predict extreme heat ‘nearly everywhere’, with the potential for global average temperatures to rise by as much as 3°C (5.4°F) this summer.

Meanwhile, Super El Niño is expected to wreak havoc on rainfall patterns around the world.

The new data comes from the Sentinel–6 Michael Freilich satellite, which was launched in 2020 by NASA.

This satellite measures and maps water height for the entire ocean every 10 days, down to fractions of an inch.

In the case of El Niño, the satellite tracks what are called ‘warm Kelvin waves’.

Nadya Vinogradova Shiffer, lead program scientist at NASA Headquarters in Washington, explained: ‘NASA’s observation of El Niño uses sea level satellites like Sentinel–6 Michael Freilich to track massive Kelvin waves as they cross the Pacific, capture changes in Earth’s ocean thermodynamics, improve forecasts of weather extremes, and help communities prepare for potential coastal hazards.’

Kelvin waves typically form after brief periods when winds over the far western equatorial Pacific Ocean moving from east to west change direction.

That effect, combined with a general weakening of easterly winds along the equator, causes water in the tropics of the western Pacific to get warmer and sea levels to rise.

The wave that forms then travels east for several weeks, eventually reaching South America and causing water off the coast to heat up and rise.

An El Niño develops as multiple Kelvin waves appear over the course of several months, and the warm water accumulates off the shores of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, according to NASA.

How will a Super El Niño impact global temperatures?

According to the WMO, we can expect above–normal temperatures in ‘nearly all parts of the globe’.

The strongest heat signals are forecast across southern and western North America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, North Africa, and much of Asia.

In the Southern Hemisphere, Northern South America is likely to see the strongest warming, while Southern Africa is forecast to experience widespread above–normal temperatures.

In Australia, warmer conditions are mainly expected along the western, southern, and eastern coasts, with no clear trend in the north.

Tropical regions are also forecast to be hotter than normal, especially Equatorial Africa and parts of Southeast Asia and the Maritime Continent.

In late January, a small Kelvin wave formed around Micronesia, before dissipating a few weeks later.

A new wave then emerged in early March, moving east over time.

Meanwhile, by mid–May, the seas around Peru were more than 5.9 inches (15 centimeters) higher than usual.

‘While this year’s event started a bit later than the big El Niños of 2015 and 1997, it’s beginning to catch up,’ said Josh Willis, a sea level researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

‘We’ll see how big it gets.’

When El Niño does arrive, the World Meteorological Organisation says we can expect above–normal temperatures in ‘nearly all parts of the globe’.

The strongest heat signals are forecast across southern and western North America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, North Africa, and much of Asia.

Northern parts of Asia may also be warmer than usual, although the forecast there is less certain.

In the Southern Hemisphere, warmer–than–normal conditions are also expected across many areas.

Northern South America is likely to see the strongest warming, while Southern Africa is forecast to experience widespread above–normal temperatures.

In Australia, warmer conditions are mainly expected along the western, southern, and eastern coasts, with no clear trend in the north.

Tropical regions around the world are also forecast to be hotter than normal, especially Equatorial Africa and parts of Southeast Asia and the Maritime Continent.

WHAT IS THE EL NINO PHENOMENON IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN?

El Niño and La Niña are the warm and cool phases (respectively) of a recurring climate phenomenon across the tropical Pacific – the El Niño-Southern Oscillation, or ‘ENSO’ for short.

The pattern can shift back and forth irregularly every two to seven years, and each phase triggers predictable disruptions of temperature, winds and precipitation.

These changes disrupt air movement and affect global climate.

ENSO has three phases it can be:

  • El Niño: A warming of the ocean surface, or above-average sea surface temperatures (SST), in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean. Over Indonesia, rainfall becomes reduced while rainfall increases over the tropical Pacific Ocean. The low-level surface winds, which normally blow from east to west along the equator, instead weaken or, in some cases, start blowing the other direction from west to east.
  • La Niña: A cooling of the ocean surface, or below-average sea surface temperatures (SST), in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean. Over Indonesia, rainfall tends to increase while rainfall decreases over the central tropical Pacific Ocean. The normal easterly winds along the equator become even stronger.
  • Neutral: Neither El Niño or La Niña. Often tropical Pacific SSTs are generally close to average.
