Ranking the Terrifier Horror Series: A Comprehensive Look at All Four Films

Creating iconic slasher characters isn’t as straightforward as it once was, given the decline in frequency of such films recently. Very few have managed to match the notoriety of legends like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Jason Voorhees, who are recognizable even to those unfamiliar with “Halloween” or “Friday the 13th.” In contemporary horror, the closest figure to achieve similar recognition is Art the Clown, portrayed by David Howard Thornton and Mike Giannelli.

Sporting a monochrome outfit, a sinister smile, and a small black hat, Art embodies a disturbing blend of chaos and mime, carving his victims with a visceral, almost comical intensity. If you find yourself ensnared by his gaze, consider yourself marked for demise. The collaborative performances of Giannelli and Thornton, alongside impressive makeup artistry, have elevated Damien Leone’s nightmarish vision from indie obscurity to a preeminent figure in the slasher genre. Art captivates audiences with his unique charm, reminiscent of a dark fusion between Bugs Bunny and Charlie Chaplin gone rogue.

Art’s chilling presence has dominated four films so far, including the anthology “All Hallows’ Eve” and the initial trio of “Terrifier” movies, with “Terrifier 4” slated for a 2027 release. As fans anticipate the clown’s next macabre escapades, let’s delve into a ranking of his current cinematic exploits.

Before David Howard Thornton’s portrayal, Art the Clown first emerged in Damien Leone’s 2008 short film “The 9th Circle,” with Mike Giannelli donning the character’s guise. This was followed by the 2011 short “Terrifier,” also featuring Giannelli. To bring these works to a broader audience, Leone compiled them into a direct-to-DVD anthology titled “All Hallows’ Eve.” While the anthology includes a less memorable segment about an alien home invasion, the narrative is anchored by a compelling wraparound story of two children and their babysitter watching a disturbing VHS tape, allowing Art to steal the spotlight.

4. All Hallows’ Eve

  • Cast: Katie Maguire, Catherine A. Callahan, Mike Giannelli
  • Director: Damien Leone
  • Rating: Unrated
  • Runtime: 83 minutes
  • Where to Watch: Shudder, Pluto TV, Tubi

Before David Howard Thornton stepped into the role, the first Art the Clown debuted way back in Damien Leone’s 2008 short “The 9th Circle,” followed by the 2011 short “Terrifier,” both times played by Mike Giannelli. In an effort to get the latter onto physical media, Leone included both within a direct-to-DVD anthology called “All Hallows’ Eve.” There’s a pretty forgettable middle segment about an alien home invasion, but the wraparound story involving two kids watching a disturbing VHS tape with their babysitter makes the film a showcase for Art.

It’s the “Terrifier” short where Art truly takes center stage in an appropriately disgusting ode to grindhouse era slasher flicks. Unfortunately, Giannelli’s depiction leaves much to be desired, especially knowing how far the character has evolved since. His Art is an abrasively mean killer that lacks the knowing gallows humor that makes the slasher villain so much fun to watch down the line.

A lot of the character’s worst tendencies arise here too, notably with his calculated evisceration of women’s bodies (complete with misogynistic language) that’s mostly just unpleasant. “All Hallows’ Eve” deserves some credit for giving Art a platform to grow, even if the anthology feature itself isn’t very good. Everyone needs to start somewhere.

3. Terrifier

  • Cast: David Howard Thornton, Jenna Kanell, Catherine Cochran
  • Director: Damien Leone
  • Rating: Unrated
  • Runtime: 85 minutes
  • Where to Watch: Prime Video, Pluto TV, Tubi

It’s Halloween night and two friends, Tara (Jenna Kanell) and Dawn (Catherine Corcoran), are wandering the streets of Miles County, only to garner the unwanted attention of a killer named Art. Despite their efforts to get home safely, the sadistic mime gives them a night they’ll never forget. That’s about all there is to 2016’s “Terrifier,” a relentlessly disturbing and sleazy grindhouse throwback that, for better or worse, barrels through its threadbare story with sickening moments of violence. For all of the criticisms you can lobby against “Terrifier,” you can’t say that it doesn’t go there.

As an effects showcase, it’s no wonder “Terrifier” took off. The gore is effectively brutal, with the most iconic kill being Dawn (i.e. one of the worst best friends in horror history) getting sawed down the middle while strung up naked upside down. The emphasis on shadows and creative lighting lends a foreboding atmosphere to the whole thing. Within moments of David Howard Thornton’s appearance, you can tell he was born to be Art. Here’s a slasher who doesn’t play by slasher conventions, such as pulling a gun from seemingly out of nowhere. However bold a narrative choice, it leaves “Terrifier” without a developed adversary for Art, which Leone himself has since expressed as a point of regret.

2. Terrifier 3

  • Cast: Laura LaVera, David Howard Thornton, Samantha Scaffidi
  • Director: Damien Leone
  • Rating: Unrated
  • Runtime: 125 minutes
  • Where to Watch: Prime Video, Pluto TV, Tubi

Picking up from the disgusting mid-credits cliffhanger from “Terrifier 2,” the third film sees the iconic slasher being reborn by way of Victoria Heyes (Samantha Scaffidi). The pair hibernate in an abandoned house for five years until two demolition workers accidentally awaken them. At the same time, Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) is invited to stay with her remaining family following her release from a mental health facility. Her younger brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam), meanwhile, is trying to have a normal college experience, but can’t shake the feeling that Art will return.

It’s difficult to follow up that second film, but “Terrifier 3” takes some bold new swings with the biggest, grossest Art attack yet. David Howard Thornton has mastered Art’s mannerisms, while still being full of surprises. His reaction to seeing “Santa” through a window leads to one of the film’s biggest laughs. Meanwhile, Leone’s deranged gore FX get better with each installment, and “Terrifier 3” is no exception.

It would have been easy to plant Sienna back in final girl mode, but it’s much more interesting to see her grapple with the emotional turmoil brought on by her first encounter with the clown. Where “Terrifier 3” stumbles is in its back-and-forth plotting that wants to expand the religious-adjacent mythology, while remaining true to the series’ gory roots.

1. Terrifier 2

  • Cast: Lauren LaVera, David Howard Thornton, Elliott Fullam
  • Director: Damien Leone
  • Rating: Unrated
  • Runtime: 138 minutes
  • Where to Watch: Prime Video, Pluto TV, Tubi

With an epic runtime bordering on two and a half hours, “Terrifier 2” is one of the best slasher flicks of the 21st century. The maximalist horror sequel wisely picks up after the events of the first film, with Art the Clown’s supernatural self-resurrection from the dead. We jump ahead one year later where teenager Sienna Shaw starts having surreal nightmares about the clown’s reign of terror (the Clown Cafe sequence is the best “Nightmare on Elm Street” movie we’ve gotten in decades). It becomes even more terrifying when Art appears in person, tormenting her loved ones in the lead up to Halloween.

The fact that a gnarly independent exploitation movie not only played in theaters, but was a box office success that had people losing their lunch is something to be celebrated. David Howard Thornton gives a masterclass horror performance, seamlessly switching from a mischievous little troublemaker to a demonic force of nature who revels in suffering, and then back again. He’s assisted by Damien Leone’s jaw-dropping gore effects that take full advantage of being unrated. The real standout, however, is LaVera’s Sienna, who proves herself as one of the best final girls in horror movie history. She’s a crucial component to the “Terrifier” sequels, providing Art with an adversary who gives him a taste of his own medicine.

Shocking Tokyo Incident: Mysterious Spray Attack Hospitalizes Over 24 Shoppers

IN BRIEF

  • More than 25 people were taken to the hospital after the alleged spraying incident.
  • Police are still investigating the cause, a fire department officer at the scene said.

In Tokyo’s posh Ginza district, a mysterious incident has left more than 20 individuals with sore throats near a high-end department store. This unsettling event occurred after someone reportedly dispersed an unidentified substance in the area, raising concerns among visitors and residents alike.

The Tokyo Fire Department reported that 26 people suddenly experienced throat discomfort and general malaise in the vicinity of the Ginza Six shopping complex. Among those affected, all but one were transported to a hospital for medical attention.

According to Yusuke Koide, a spokesperson for the Tokyo police, the incident involved a man who sprayed a substance at an ATM located on the building’s ground floor. This act prompted a swift response from emergency services.

In the aftermath, the street in front of the mall—a hub for tourists and luxury shoppers—was cordoned off, with fire trucks lining the road as a precautionary measure. Despite the disruption, patrons continued to access the building through alternative side entrances, demonstrating the resilience of the bustling shopping area.

However, shoppers continued to come and go from the building using side entrances.

Dozens of fire engines and ambulances were parked outside the complex, and the surrounding roads were temporarily closed.

Television footage showed firefighters and officials in hazmat suits assisting people, with some being brought out of the building.

Public broadcaster NHK said the injuries appeared to be light.

It said the spray was believed to have contained the irritant capsaicin, the active component of chilli peppers, according to unidentified investigative sources.

One 70-year-old woman who was at the mall told the broadcaster that her throat started “stinging and hurting” as she approached the ATM.

“By the time I arrived, the commotion had already started, and I thought there might have been a small fire or something.

“Once I went into the ATM corner, my throat felt scratchy, almost numb,” she said.

Police are investigating the cause, a fire department officer at the scene said.

Violent crime is relatively rare in Japan, which has a low murder rate and some of the world’s toughest gun laws.

However, there are occasional stabbing attacks and even shootings, including the assassination of former prime minister Shinzo Abe in 2022.

Fourteen people were injured in a stabbing attack in a factory in central Japan in December last year, during which an unspecified liquid was also sprayed.

Japan remains shaken by the memory of a major subway attack in 1995 when members of the Aum Shinrikyo cult released sarin gas on trains, killing 14 people and making more than 5,800 ill.

Five members of the Aum cult dropped bags of Nazi-developed sarin nerve agent inside morning commuter trains on 20 March 1995, piercing the pouches with sharpened umbrella tips before fleeing.

Tom Hardy Opens Up About His Struggles with Addiction in Candid Interview

0

Tom Hardy has established himself as one of the most captivating actors of his era.

Since his notable breakthrough in “Inception” to his Oscar-nominated role in “The Revenant,” the 48-year-old actor has been a consistent force at the box office.

Yet, beyond his cinematic achievements lies a powerful narrative of personal transformation—a journey from battling addiction to achieving enduring sobriety.

Despite his status as a Hollywood heartthrob, Hardy’s early life was shadowed by legal troubles and escalating struggles with alcohol and drug dependency.

“I went completely off the rails, and I’m fortunate I didn’t meet with some tragic accident or end up incarcerated or worse, because that was the path I was on,” he once revealed to Hello magazine.

Here, the Daily Mail takes a look at Tom’s ‘brutal’ past.

For a man from a background he describes as ‘painfully middle-class’, Tom has quite a colourful history.

He was born in East Sheen, Surrey, the only child of Cambridge-educated comedy and novel writer Edward Hardy and his artist wife Anne.

‘I grew up used to having lots of attention from my mother,’ he told The Daily Mail. The house was full of books and music; gifts and holidays abroad were plentiful; and an expensive private education was a given.

‘There was only one problem. I was a bit of a naughty boy when I was young. No, let me correct that: I was a lot of a naughty boy!’

When he was 11, he was warned by a policeman who visited his school about the dangers of sniffing glue.

His reaction, he says now, was to think: ‘Bang – I know where to find that now!’

By the age of 13, he was drinking and quickly became addicted to alcohol and crack cocaine.

A couple of years later, he was expelled from his boarding school, Reed’s, in Surrey, for stealing.

By age 16, he was a mess of alcohol and cocaine, continually in trouble with the law, including being arrested for joyriding.

So badly affected was he that he once reportedly said: ‘I would have sold my mother for a rock of crack.’

His drinking and drug-taking contributed to the breakdown of his marriage to Sarah Ward.

It continued to plague him, until he collapsed after a crack cocaine binge in London in 2003 and was found lying in a pool of blood and vomit in Soho.

‘I had to lose something,’ he told Hello! ‘Sometimes you have to lose something that is worth more to you than your drinking.’

With his parents’ help he checked himself into rehab and submitted to a regimen of psychotherapy.

Finally clean and sober, he landed a number of television and film roles and founded his own repertory company, Shotgun Theatre.

He told The Telegraph at the time: ‘I wanted my dad to be proud of me, and I fell into acting because there wasn’t anything else I could do, and in it I found a discipline that I wanted to keep coming back to, that I love and I learn about every day.’

Tom went on to receive a number of major accolades throughout his career, including a BAFTA Rising Star Award, an Oscar nomination, and being appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).

However, he was fired from MobLand ‘after enraging co-star Helen Mirren’ with his ‘arrogant on-set behaviour’.

On Friday it was reported the actor, who plays the role of fixer Harry Da Souza alongside Pierce Brosnan and Dame Helen, would not be returning for the upcoming third season following a number of clashes with producers.

Prior to news of his dismissal, The Daily Mail’s Katie Hind revealed Helen, 80, who plays Maeve Harrigan in the Paramount+ crime drama series, was less than pleased with Tom’s attitude on-set, claiming he ‘swaggers around like a king’.

Amid news of his dismissal, a source close to the MobLand project claimed Tom was late and had pushed to change lines during filming. He also apparently offered notes on the script without being asked.

One source claimed that he was frustrated that the series was becoming more about his co-stars Helen and Pierce while tensions with producer Jez Butterworth apparently led to threats from Jez to quit himself.

Helen’s frustrations echo those of Charlize Theron, with whom he had an almighty fall-out while shooting Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, during which his lateness and attitude led to a screaming match and Charlize refusing to be alone with the star.

Tom’s dismissal from MobLand was first reported in The Puck newsletter, with claims reading: ‘I’m told Paramount recently opted not to pick up Hardy for season three.’

The report blamed ‘clashes with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser, among others, during the recent production of season two’.

The Puck newsletter, written by former editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter Matthew Belloni, claims producers could not continue to deal with Tom’s alleged behaviour.

Daily Mail has contacted Tom’s representative for comment.

The report about the MobLand set comes in the wake of comments about Helen’s rage at the star’s behaviour – even coming down to him being found playing games on his phone while expected elsewhere.

Sources told The Mail on Sunday that she was getting increasingly frustrated’ at Tom’s attitude on set, leading to her struggling with working closely with him after they came together to make the second series in November.

An insider said: ‘Tom’s character is charming. He’s the calm one but it is quite the opposite when the cameras stop. Dame Helen is a joy, she is a total pro and she has worked with so many people over the years.

‘But she is getting increasingly frustrated with Tom and his attitude. He can be late to filming too and that is annoying for Dame Helen, who is extremely professional and disciplined. His tone is something Dame Helen doesn’t like, along with his lateness.

‘She expects better. She holds people to a high standard. She’s 80. She’s been there and seen it all.

‘The behind-the-scenes crew watch it all and believe that she no longer looks as happy working on scenes with him. It has all become quite personal between them.

‘It feels like Tom is winding her up. There is much chatter that he swaggers around like he’s the king. He is very, very arrogant. It’s a fantastic show and everyone loves working on it. It’s such a shame there is this undertone.’

Another source says Tom, who is married to Peaky Blinders actress Charlotte Riley, 44, has a tendency to get angry behind the scenes.

It was previously claimed Tom was set to take a sabbatical after filming finished on MobLand, due to ‘needing to have a rest’.

He told Esquire UK: ‘I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back. I’ve got sciatica as well. And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis?

‘Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better.’

Back in 2015, Charlize and Tom’s battle was well-documented and in 2022 Tom responded to reports that Charlize felt threatened by his behaviour on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road.

The pair worked together on the movie but had such an explosive relationship on set that they were often involved in intense shouting matches, with Charlize calling Tom a ‘f***ing c***’ after he made her wait on set for hours.

Charlize also had a female producer be with her at all times as ‘protection’ as she was ‘scared s***less’ by ‘aggressive’ Tom, according to Kyle Buchanan’s book Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Addressing the tension, Tom admitted to Kyle: ‘In hindsight, I was in over my head in many ways. The pressure on both of us was overwhelming at times.

‘What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced partner in me. That’s something that can’t be faked. I’d like to think that now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion.’

Washington County Tragedy: Woman Faces Vehicular Homicide Charges in Fatal 2025 Crash

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — Following an in-depth investigation lasting several months, a woman faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI stemming from a tragic accident in August 2025 that resulted in two fatalities in Jonesborough.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) released a statement revealing that 23-year-old Elizabeth Adiah-Anne Blevins allegedly had a blood alcohol level exceeding twice the legal limit at the time of the incident.

As detailed in the report, Blevins was heading west on Highway 11E near Grandview Elementary on August 30, 2025, when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle. This caused her to veer into the eastbound lane, colliding with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle carrying the victims.

The collision resulted in the deaths of David Doty and Donna Doty, both residents of Chuckey, according to the WCSO.

The sheriff’s office indicated that crash reconstruction experts promptly forwarded a blood sample from Blevins to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) for analysis on the day of the accident.

“Results showed Blevins had a blood alcohol content of 0.19, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 in Tennessee,” the release states.

The release said a grand jury returned a presentment on May 15, charging Blevins with two counts of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. She was served the presentment on Tuesday and taken into custody without incident, the WCSO said. Her bond was set at $100,000, which she posted, the release said.

Chicago Police: Rashad Johnson Accused of Striking Five Officers with Car During Teen Gathering Near Roosevelt and Loomis

0

An 18-year-old motorist is facing serious charges after allegedly colliding with five Chicago police officers who were trying to disperse a “teen takeover” on the Near West Side early Sunday morning.

Authorities revealed on Monday that Rashad Johnson, from Plainfield, has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and criminal damage to government property.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

The incident unfolded around 3:20 a.m. as officers attempted to control a chaotic post-prom event near the Brooks Homes at Roosevelt and Loomis.

Reports suggest Johnson was driving a blue vehicle westbound on an eastbound lane along the 1200 block of South Loomis Street. During the chaotic moment, he allegedly struck the officers, mounted a curb, and collided with a police vehicle, a pole, and a fence before the car halted.

Police arrested Johnson on-site. Although his connection to the teen gathering remains uncertain, a firearm was reportedly discovered in the vehicle.

Authorities said all five officers were taken to local hospitals and are expected to be OK. Three officers remained hospitalized on Sunday afternoon.

Ald. Jason Ervin said the gathering was not a traditional “teen-takeover” type event, like has been seen elsewhere around the city, but rather an after-prom party that got out of hand.

“Normally, we do not have problems in the Brooks Homes for Memorial Day, and so this caught a lot of people off-guard, what transpired last night,” Ervin said. “Hopefully the officers recover fully and be able to get back to work.”

Meanwhile, Ald. Jim Gardiner said police were addressing a so-called “teen takeover.”

About 30 minutes after the officers were hit, a 19-year-old man was shot in the nearby 1100-block of West Roosevelt Road, police said.

Chicago police did not say if that shooting was related to the large gathering.

South Korean Starbucks Executive Issues Apology Over Controversial Ad Campaign Referencing Historical Tragedy

SEOUL – On Tuesday, Chung Yong-jin, a prominent South Korean retail magnate, issued his second public apology within a fortnight due to a controversial marketing move by Starbucks Korea. This campaign has been criticized for seemingly trivializing the suffering of those affected by a violent military crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators in 1980.

Chung, who serves as the chairman of Shinsegae Group and holds a major 67.5% share in Starbucks Korea, appeared on television to express his remorse. He offered a deep, three-fold bow during his statement, seeking forgiveness from the families of the 1980s democracy advocates who suffered under the nation’s former military regime, as well as from the general public.

The uproar began when Starbucks attempted to advertise a large tumbler size, referred to as a “tank,” by designating May 18 as “Tank Day.” This date coincides with the anniversary of the Gwangju Uprising, a pro-democracy movement harshly quashed by military forces using tanks and helicopters, resulting in numerous casualties.

Adding fuel to the fire, the campaign employed the phrase “Thwack it on the table!,” which many interpreted as an allusion to a notorious 1987 police statement. This statement was part of an attempt to obscure the torture and death of student activist Park Jong-chol, with authorities initially claiming he died suddenly when an officer “hit the desk with a thwack.”

The public backlash was swift, prompting Shinsegae to swiftly retract the promotion and dismiss the CEO of Starbucks Korea. Furthermore, law enforcement has initiated an investigation following complaints from the relatives of those who perished in the Gwangju incident.

“I take it very seriously the fact that many people felt deep pain and anger because of Starbucks Korea’s inappropriate marketing campaign,” Chung said Tuesday.

He also asked people not to take out their frustration on staff at Starbucks shops, saying the responsibility lies with management. There were no immediate reports of major incidents at stores.

Chung issued his first apology on May 19, saying in a statement that the campaign caused “deep pain to the victims and bereaved families of the May 18 Democratization Movement as well as to the public.”

Jeon Sangjin, a senior Shinsegae Group executive, said the company has yet to find conclusive evidence that Starbucks Korea marketing employees intended to mock the pro-democracy movement, an accusation the employees have denied.

However, he said some employees refused management requests to hand over their smartphones during a weeklong internal review. Jeon said the company would look at results from the police inquiry and any employee found to have intended to ridicule protesters would be fired.

The anger over the campaign has triggered public calls for boycotts, amplified by government officials, including Interior and Safety Minister Yoon Ho-jung, who said Starbucks products will no longer be used at government events and lamented the chain’s “anti-historical behavior.”

President Lee Jae Myung said on X last week that the campaign displayed “inhumane and disgraceful behavior by cheap profiteers who deny the values of the South Korean community, basic human rights and democracy.”

The crackdown in Gwangju came months after General Chun Doo-hwan seized power in a coup in late 1979. Government records show about 200 people died in Gwangju, but activists say the true death toll was much higher. Chun’s government also imprisoned tens of thousands, saying it was rooting out social evils.

Public anger over Chun’s dictatorship led to massive nationwide protests in 1987, forcing him to accept a constitutional revision introducing direct presidential elections, which is widely seen as the start of South Korea’s transition to democracy.

Tragic Incident: Woman Accused of Fatally Stabbing Husband, Described as ‘Gentle,’ by Family

Inset: Alonzo McDaniel. Background: The Missouri home where Alonzo McDaniel was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife Evelyn McDaniel (KSDK/YouTube).

In a tragic incident in Missouri, a man described by family and police as “gentle” was fatally stabbed by his wife, who they say subjected him to years of “abusive” behavior. Alonzo McDaniel, aged 65, reportedly endured prolonged mistreatment by his wife Evelyn McDaniel, also 65, before she allegedly killed him in north St. Louis last month, according to legal documents.

Family members and friends of Alonzo McDaniel claim he suffered through years of domestic abuse, culminating in his tragic death. His sister, Tina-Marie McDaniel, spoke to NBC’s local affiliate KSDK, expressing their concerns, “We urged him to leave because we feared this would happen.”

Tina-Marie McDaniel detailed the troubling situation, noting, “She’s been abusive for a very long time. Despite her threats, he tolerated her. She warned him about her intentions, and ultimately, she acted on them.”

James Moton, a close friend of Alonzo, recounted a phone call with him shortly before the tragic event, during which he overheard Evelyn McDaniel yelling at Alonzo. According to the probable cause affidavit, Evelyn McDaniel confessed to stabbing Alonzo in the chest on April 23.

One of Alonzo McDaniel’s close friends, James Moton, says he heard Alonzo McDaniel being yelled at by Evelyn McDaniel while Moton was on the phone with him right before the slaying allegedly happened. According to a probable cause affidavit, Evelyn McDaniel “admitted to stabbing” Alonzo in the chest on April 23.

“All of a sudden I heard an altercation,” Moton recounted. “I heard him scream, ‘Ah, why you just stabbed me?! You stabbed me!’ Me being on the phone and hearing that and him taking his last breath or screaming and then it goes silent. It’s just, I’m lost. That’s like a brother to me.”

Tina-Marie McDaniel told local CBS affiliate KMOV that her brother was 6-foot-3 and Evelyn McDaniel was about 4-foot-7, but he refused to defend himself physically whenever Evelyn McDaniel would allegedly abuse him.

“He would not hit her. He would not fight her,” Tina-Marie McDaniel said. “If he wanted to really stop her, he could have. With physical force. But I believe she took advantage of that and just went for what she knew and just took my brother’s life.”

Tina-Marie McDaniel alleged that Evelyn McDaniel had been “really irate all day” and had been out “drinking.” The couple allegedly began arguing after they got back home.

“At that point, from what I was told, because I wasn’t here, she started trying to stab him,” Tina-Marie McDaniel told KMOV. “And he was like, ‘What are you doing?’ He said stop. And then they heard him scream.”

According to KSDK, neighbors and friends described Alonzo McDaniel as a truck driver who was known in the community for being a protector and provider. He reportedly mowed lawns for free, checked on elderly residents after storms, bought groceries for people in need, and mentored neighborhood teenagers.

“My brother is so gentle,” Tina-Marie McDaniel told KMOV. “The whole block loved him. He was caring. He was supportive. He would come and do anything for anybody.”

Referencing Evelyn McDaniel and the charges she is facing, the grieving sister told KSDK, “I’m depending on the justice system to do what they’re supposed to do. Not let this slide and not let her walk away.”

Evelyn McDaniel is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. She is being held without bond, with no court date yet scheduled.

Augusta Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes in Heartfelt Memorial Day Ceremony

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – On Monday, a heartfelt gathering took place at the All Wars Memorial in Olde Town Augusta as community members, veterans, military families, and local dignitaries came together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to the United States.

The event, known as the Augusta CRSA “America 250” Memorial Day Ceremony, featured an array of patriotic elements. Attendees were moved by stirring music, heartfelt prayers, and a roll call that honored local veterans organizations, with speeches delivered by city officials and military leaders.

Major General Ryan Janovic, representing the U.S. Army at Fort Gordon, emphasized the significance of Memorial Day as a moment to honor those service members who never made it back home.

“I have personally experienced deployments where not everyone in the brigade returned,” Janovic shared. “The memories of their faces, their families, and the ceremonies held in their honor remain vivid.”

For many veterans and military families, Janovic noted, Memorial Day resonates with a profound depth of meaning.

“Memorial Day is an American time to get quiet and remember those who didn’t come home from serving overseas and defending our way of life,” Janovic said.

Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson also spoke about the connection between Memorial Day and the Augusta CSRA’s “America 250” observance, which marks the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

“We have been involved in every major conflict since this nation even became a country,” Johnson said. “From the Revoluntionary War to the Vietnam War to the Korean conflict, to World War I and II, Augusta has been the fabric of America.”

The ceremony also focused on teaching younger generations about the sacrifices made be service members.

Janovic says be believes younger people understand the importance of the day.

“I have an 18-year-old son, so that question hits home well,” Janovic said. “He knows this is a special day and his friends do as well.”

Timothy Tyler, volunteer with the Augusta Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars, says he hopes people remember the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces.

“Here we have three great memorials to the different people from the CSRA who made the ultimate sacrifice,” Tyler said. “I just hope people remember all the sacrifices.”

Organizers say events like this help make sure the stories and sacrifices of fallen service members are never forgotten.

In the realm of tennis, Corentin Moutet might not be a household name outside of dedicated circles, yet he’s a player who consistently delivers excitement and drama on the court. Known for his fiery temper and entertaining antics, both on and off the court, Moutet has honed his skills over the past couple of years, transforming into a formidable opponent.

Currently sitting at 32nd in the global rankings, Moutet has earned the 30th seed in the forthcoming French Open, a testament to his recent improvements and growing reputation in the sport. His journey at the tournament begins with a first-round clash against Vit Kopriva.

This opening match promises to be a captivating duel of contrasting styles. Moutet, with his emotional playstyle and creative shot-making, compensates for a lack of physical prowess with cunning and flair. On the other hand, Kopriva presents a calm and collected demeanor, known for his baseline resilience and ability to outlast opponents through tenacity and consistent rallies.

Moutet vs. Kopriva odds, prediction

This is a battle of opposites.

While Moutet plays with emotion and relies on crafty shot-making to make up for his lack of physical tools, Kopriva is a level-headed journeyman who is happy to sit on the baseline and frustrate his opponents with his ability to absorb pressure and sustain rallies.

That approach should work against Moutet, as the Frenchman simply doesn’t have the power to overwhelm the Czech, especially on the dirt. Instead, Moutet will need to rely on his old tricks to get an advantage on Kopriva, but I don’t envision the underdog being susceptible to the dark arts.

Instead, I expect Kopriva to stick to the script and allow Moutet, an easily frustrated opponent, to become disengaged as he is forced into long rallies. He’ll have plenty of time to accomplish this, as this is a best-of-5 set encounter. That gives Moutet plenty of runway to lose his cool.

And while Moutet may have the French crowd backing him, he does come into the French Open riding a four-match losing streak, including two defeats to players ranked outside the top 100, and boasting a 3-6 record during the clay swing.

Kopriva is in better form, and he’s got the stylistic advantage for this match. This is a great price.
