“Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie used the occasion of Easter to ponder themes of faith, doubt, and the unknown, as the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues after more than two months.
Her reflections were part of a digital Easter service hosted by Good Shepherd New York on YouTube. During the gathering, Guthrie shared her heartfelt thoughts on coping with sorrow and unanswered questions during this particularly challenging time.
Nancy Guthrie, who is 84, disappeared after reportedly being taken from her bedroom in northern Tucson, Arizona, at around 2 a.m. on February 1. When authorities arrived, they discovered a faint line of blood droplets leading from the front entrance to the driveway. The back doors were ajar, and a doorbell camera had been removed.
Police later uncovered security footage from the home, capturing an unidentified masked man at the doorstep. The evidence trail appears to have concluded at the driveway, leaving her current location a mystery.

Guthrie acknowledged that Easter’s promise of hope and new life can feel distant as she faces the uncertainty surrounding her mother’s disappearance.
“There are moments in which that promise seems irretrievably far away, when life itself seems far harder than death,” Guthrie said. “These moments of deep disappointment with God, the feeling of utter abandonment.”
Guthrie said that in her recent “season of trial,” she questioned whether Jesus experienced the same kind of uncertainty she now feels, particularly the pain of not knowing what comes next or why suffering is unfolding.

“I have wondered – I have questioned – whether Jesus really ever experienced this particular wound that I feel, this grievous and uniquely cruel injury of not knowing, of uncertainty and confusion and answers withheld,” she said. “In those darkest moments I have thought, bitterly and perhaps irreverently, that I have stumbled upon a feeling that Jesus did not know.”
She said her perspective began to shift as she reflected on the period between the crucifixion and resurrection, a span she described as often overlooked but central to understanding faith in moments of uncertainty.
“After Jesus died, after he breathed his last, what did he actually know?” Guthrie said. “Did he think his time in the grave would be a day or two or a thousand years? In the grave, does his agony seem indefinite to him? That torment of uncertainty? The way indefinite pain can feel eternal? Perhaps he did know this feeling after all.”

Guthrie said that realization helped her reframe her own experience, describing life as existing in a kind of “meantime” — a period marked by waiting, unanswered questions and the absence of clear resolution.
She said that in those moments, people can feel unsure, lost, abandoned, disappointed and forgotten, even as faith calls them to trust in a future they cannot yet see.
Despite that struggle, Guthrie said her faith remains rooted in the belief that God is present even without immediate answers, offering comfort not through certainty, but through presence.
“It is the darkness that makes this morning’s light so magnificent, so blindingly beautiful,” Guthrie said. “It is all the brighter because it is so desperately needed.”
“So I close my eyes this morning and I feel the sunshine,” she continued. “I see a bright vision of the day when heaven and earth pass away because they are one on earth as it is in heaven.”
“When we celebrate today, this is what we celebrate, and I celebrate, too,” she said. “I still believe. And so I say with conviction, happy Easter.”

Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, and her husband Rip Wheeler, portrayed by Cole Hauser, are about to take the spotlight in their own spin-off series, “Dutton Ranch.” However, this new venture faces a significant hurdle: neither character has ever truly faced the consequences of their actions. Although Beth has encountered her share of conflicts and setbacks on “Yellowstone,” the couple’s history is steeped in violence and evasion. As two individuals accustomed to disposing of bodies at a remote Wyoming location ominously known as the train station, they’ve consistently engaged in reckless behavior without repercussions.
Emerson Miller/Paramount+
Their violent escapades include Beth’s killing of her adopted brother, Jamie, played by Wes Bentley. Despite her long-standing resentment toward him—stemming from his role in an incident that left her sterilized—Beth seems to move on without much emotional turmoil. Rip, on the other hand, has a body count that spans dozens, some as a service to Beth’s father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), and others merely for interfering with ranch matters. The couple remains unchanged by these experiences, even as their actions have severely thinned the Dutton family tree. They have yet to face legal consequences or endure significant personal losses, which raises questions about the sustainability of this dynamic in “Dutton Ranch.”
The television world is filled with morally ambiguous characters, but Beth and Rip are unique in their portrayal as untouchable, frontier-style antiheroes. Unlike Walter White from “Breaking Bad,” played by Bryan Cranston, who faced severe consequences for his actions, Beth and Rip have been largely untouched. White’s journey included battling terminal cancer, losing his family’s respect, and meeting a violent end, even as he sought redemption. In contrast, Beth and Rip’s troubles are routinely resolved with deceit and destruction, sidestepping any real accountability.
Other protagonists in similar dramas have faced mixed fates, yet Beth and Rip have managed to escape such reckonings. While the specter of the law has loomed over the Dutton family, their issues are often swept under the rug with little more than a few lies and some cover-ups. Even John Dutton, with his complex mix of kindness and cruelty, faced the ultimate price for his arrogance.
Who wants to watch a show where there are no rules for the main characters?
Emerson Miller/Paramount+
As Beth and Rip step into the forefront of “Dutton Ranch,” it’s crucial for them to encounter significant consequences for their actions. With the spotlight squarely on them, expecting audiences to accept their continuous evasion of justice would undermine the show’s credibility and potential success.
Plenty of other heroes in comparable dramas have faced similar, mixed consequences, yet such punishment has eluded Beth and Rip. While the threat of the law coming down on them has always lingered over the Dutton family’s operations, their problems are disposed of via burned vehicles, scorched corpses, and plenty of bald-faced lies. One might point to “Yellowstone” and John’s seemingly-invincible ways, but John was afforded depth that has eluded Beth and Rip. He was allowed to be cruel and kind, and he ultimately paid for his hubris with his life.
Beth and Rip’s cartoonish invulnerability needs to go
Emerson Miller/Paramount+
Now that they’re heading their own show, Beth and Rip desperately need to face some sort of serious consequences for their behavior. “Dutton Ranch” is wholly centered on them, and asking viewers to watch them karma-Houdini their way out of situation after situation would be silly.
But that doesn’t mean the characters have to be nicer — just deeper. Beth definitely doesn’t need to be a goody-goody like her brother Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) to be the center of a show. But she can’t run around Texas setting the world on fire the way she did when she ruled Montana with the Dutton name behind her. In a world where Beth has no one in her back pocket and the Dutton name is as dead as her father, she ought to be struggling with more, dealing with more, and even going through the court system.
Unless audiences want to insert themselves into Beth’s high heels and pretend they’re invulnerable themselves, there’s no lasting appeal for either her or Rip as permanent series leads. They need to be allowed to express emotions deeper than lust, rage, and cold satisfaction. The warmth between them that pops up whenever they dance together or hang out on their porch has always been a nice change of pace, providing Beth with some of her best moments on “Yellowstone.” The spin-off should encourage these moments if it wants to survive — without forcing the characters to soften entirely or lose their edges.
Inset: Conor Hylton (Westhaven Funeral Home). Background: Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus in Connecticut where Conor Hylton died after being placed in a “fake ICU” and cared for by a remote doctor, his family says in a lawsuit (Google Maps).
A tragic incident involving a 26-year-old dental student in Connecticut has highlighted concerns over the use of remote healthcare services. Conor Hylton passed away in an intensive care unit managed by a telehealth physician who declared him deceased via a video link, amidst claims of poor communication regarding his medical needs, according to a lawsuit.
Hylton’s parents have initiated legal action against Yale New Haven Health, the entity responsible for the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus where their son tragically died in 2024, as well as Northeast Medical Group, a Yale New Haven Health affiliate. The lawsuit accuses them of negligence, which the family believes directly contributed to Hylton’s untimely death.
The legal documents, accessed by Law&Crime, contend that the ICU staff and management breached hospital protocols. Specifically, it notes that no in-person physician evaluated Mr. Hylton from his ICU admission until after he began showing seizure-like symptoms.
According to the lawsuit, Hylton was admitted to the emergency room on August 14, 2024, with conditions such as pancreatitis, dehydration, metabolic acidosis, and symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, which led to his subsequent hospitalization.
The legal filing details how Hylton’s health worsened, prompting his transfer to the ICU. His condition continued to decline throughout the night and early morning of August 15, 2024, marked by changes in mental status, restlessness, and agitation despite being administered Precedex, as reported in the complaint.
While in the ICU, the hospital allegedly utilized the service of a “tele-ICU,” with the complaint noting that there were no “ICU intensivists” present at the time.
“Instead, the hospitalist, in this case … never saw the patient,” the complaint alleges. “It also appears from the sparse ICU records that the ICU RN was only contacting the tele-ICU service for sedation orders as Mr. Hylton’s condition deteriorated in the ICU, and despite orders, there are no CIWA assessments, no intake/output monitoring, and no MD assessments for pain and/or change in mental status despite the RN’s non-contemporaneous note indicating mental status change in a patient diagnosed with alcohol withdrawal and a history of alcohol withdrawal seizures for which he had previously been given Keppra.”
Hylton, who was admitted around 11 a.m., became unresponsive early the next morning around 4:30 a.m., the complaint says.
“Mr. Hylton slid down in bed, his eyes rolled back and he … exhibited seizure-like activity, vomited, became bradycardic and code was called,” the complaint alleges. “He was intubated, but he could not be resuscitated, and he was pronounced dead.”
According to Hylton’s parents, “the pronouncement was done by a ‘tele-health’ provider on a video screen.” The family wasn’t even notified about what was going on or Hylton’s deteriorating health status, their complaint adds.
“[The defendants] allowed for extremely poor communication among the providers responsible for Conor’s life which is especially dangerous to patient care when the hospital is relying on off-site tele-ICU providers to care for its patients,” the complaint concludes.
His parents’ attorney, Joel Faxon, told CT Insider that Hylton was treated at what he considers to be a “fake ICU,” per the local media outlet.
“It’s not real because no patient would ever consent if they told … they’re not going to have a doctor in here,” Faxon said. “They’re going to be on the tube.”
Faxon calls what happened to Hylton “a tragedy that definitely could have been avoided,” according to CT Insider. “The family is absolutely devastated,” Faxon said. “He was a good kid. He was a very good student. He was at UConn Dental School and parents are both dentists.”
The family’s lawsuit comes after a July 2025 investigation from the Connecticut Department of Public Health found that the “hospital failed to ensure quality medical care was provided” to Hylton, according to the complaint.
The agency determined that hospital staff “failed to ensure nursing assessments were conducted in accordance with the physician’s order” and “failed to effectively communicate the patient’s needs as documented,” per the complaint.
A Bridgeport Hospital spokesperson told the local Hartford Courant newspaper, “Yale New Haven Health is aware of this lawsuit and is committed to providing the safest and highest quality of care possible, however, we are unable to comment on pending litigation.”
Asked whether Yale New Haven uses the services of tele-health professionals in its hospitals and ICUs, the spokesperson reportedly said the model “enhances critically ill patients by pairing advanced virtual monitoring with expert bedside teams.”
“A dedicated virtual team collaborates closely with on‑site nurses, physicians and ICU intensivists to provide continuous monitoring, timely decisions and coordinated, high‑quality care throughout the ICU stay,” the spokesperson told the Courant.
On Sunday, Nicola Peltz appeared to send a subtle message to the Beckhams by posting a photo of her lavish Easter basket.
Earlier that day, Victoria Beckham, 51, had showcased a collection of personalized Easter hampers on Instagram. These were tailored for her family, including her husband David, daughter Harper, sons Romeo and Cruz, as well as their partners, Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel.
Conspicuously missing from the list were their estranged son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola, highlighting ongoing tensions.
In what seemed to be a response, Nicola offered a glimpse into her and Brooklyn’s own Easter festivities.
She shared an image of two vibrant Easter baskets brimming with chocolates, flowers, and various gifts—one in blue and the other in pink.
The two baskets were in stark comparison to Victoria’s meticulously laid out, personalised hampers – featuring Mini Eggs Easter eggs with each person’s name printed on them as well as a canvas shopping bag full of wrapped gifts.

Earlier in the day, Victoria shared a gushing tribute to her husband David after the stadium’s ribbon-cutting ceremony prior to the MLS match between Inter Miami CF and Austin FC at Nu Stadium.
Victoria shared a snap of the family all posing together at the stadium, and another of her and David holding hands, with the fashion designer gazing lovingly at her beaming husband.
His sons were also quick to show their support, with Romeo sharing a picture of his father at the stadium, while Cruz shared a number of snaps of the venue.
Meanwhile, over in West Hollywood, eldest child Brooklyn appeared tense during a phone call outside the Sunset Plaza Hotel on Friday evening, as he was spotted pacing and animatedly moving his arms during the lengthy conversation.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — On April 4, the Calvary Church warmly welcomed residents from the Tri-Cities area to their second annual Easter service at Freedom Hall.
Hundreds of attendees gathered eagerly around the venue for the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. Reflecting on the previous year’s turnout of approximately 6,000 worshippers, church officials anticipated an even larger crowd this year.
In a conversation with News Channel 11, Nathan Livingston, the Operations Pastor at Calvary Church, shared insights into the day’s message for the congregation.
“When you truly embrace what Christ has done for you and make it personal, it transforms everything,” Livingston expressed. “That’s the message we hope resonates with everyone today.”
Livingston also highlighted that Calvary Church is celebrating its 41st anniversary. He expressed gratitude for their collaboration with Freedom Hall, which allows such large gatherings to come together in worship.
Dorit Kemsley hinted at a possible envy from Sutton Stracke over her blossoming connection with Rachel Zoe following a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which showcased the group’s escapades in Italy.
During the episode, Dorit, 49, suggested that Sutton, 54, was stirring up trouble by encouraging Amanda Frances, 41, to find fault with her. Amanda also insinuated that she often felt the cast was speaking ill of her. Dorit criticized Sutton’s “bizarre” behavior, while Bozoma “Boz” Saint John, 49, questioned Sutton’s recurring irritation whenever Dorit formed new friendships.
“[Sutton gets] very annoyed. And yes, it’s just so bizarre [that Sutton gets jealous when I make new friends]. Bizarre woman behavior,” Dorit remarked on the March 26 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “It seems that she doesn’t like it if anyone wants to befriend me or form a relationship with me.”
Boz further inquired, “She doesn’t like you to have new friends, but she’s not going to be your friend? Why continue to be upset about Dorit’s friendships?”
Looking back on their trip, Rachel, 54, recalled Sutton insinuating that she and Dorit couldn’t be apart for an hour.
“I was not ready for that … I just didn’t think that was necessary,” she noted.
Dorit and Sutton have long been at odds on RHOBH. But, according to Dorit, they were starting to make “real inches forward” with one another before venturing to Europe.
“Over in Italy … behind my back first, Sutton was like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna room with Amanda,’ and then Rachel comes to me and says, you know, and said that Sutton was advising Amanda to have a problem with me,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Sutton insisted that she was simply trying to get Amanda to be honest with Dorit.
“I think Dorit respects when you’re very honest, and you stand your ground, and you say what you mean, and you mean it, and that’s what I was trying to get Amanda to do with her,” she stated.
Also on the After Show, Amanda accused Dorit of assuming the worst of her castmates.
“Why is that always Dorit’s thing? No matter what’s going on, she just decides everybody’s talking bad about her, and that’s the thing she’s gonna be mad about. Is there like, nothing else to talk about?” she wondered.

Starting your day with a few strategic movements before getting out of bed can be a powerful ritual. Morning exercises not only set a positive tone but also activate your muscles and prepare your body for the day ahead, leaving you feeling more agile and less stiff. These small, consistent movements may seem minor, but they quickly gain momentum, particularly when your aim is to restore strength and confidence in your legs.
For those over 60, the body responds exceptionally well to what are known as “minimal dose” workouts. Instead of depending on long, strenuous sessions, these shorter, more focused exercises provide the benefits of regularity and quality movement. Many clients have experienced significant improvements in strength and stability by incorporating these small, daily victories, especially when focusing on muscles that aid in standing, walking, and rising with ease.
The following five exercises are specifically designed to be done in bed, targeting your thighs while also engaging the hips and core. They are simple to perform, gentle on the joints, and effective in building strength that enhances everyday movement. By doing them routinely, you will notice improved leg function, quicker responses, and better support throughout your day.
After 60, your body responds incredibly well to these “minimal dose” sessions. Rather than relying solely on length workouts, you gain the benefits of consistency and quality of movement. I’ve seen clients make noticeable improvements in strength and stability just by stacking these small wins day after day, especially when those movements target the muscles that support standing, walking, and getting up with ease.
The five bed exercises below are designed to activate and strengthen your thighs while also engaging the hips and core. They’re simple to perform, easy on the joints, and effective at building strength in a way that carries over into everyday movement. Perform them regularly, and you’ll start to feel your legs working better, responding quicker, and supporting you throughout the day.
Glute Bridge
Glute bridges create a strong connection between the hips and thighs while encouraging the legs to produce force in a controlled position. As you press through your feet and lift your hips, the glutes and hamstrings engage while the quads assist in stabilizing the movement. This coordinated effort helps build strength across the entire lower body without placing unnecessary stress on the joints. Over time, it reinforces the same muscles you rely on when standing up and moving throughout the day.6254a4d1642c605c54bf1cab17d50f1e
Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, quads, and core stabilizers.
How to Do It:
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the bed.
Place your arms at your sides.
Press through your heels to lift your hips.
Pause briefly at the top.
Lower your hips back down with control.
Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.
Best Variations: Single-leg bridge, pause bridge, slow tempo bridge.
Form Tip: Drive through your heels and squeeze your glutes at the top.
Glute Bridge Marching
Glute bridge marching builds on the bridge’s foundation, adding a dynamic challenge that lights up the thighs and hips. As you lift one leg at a time, the supporting leg has to work harder to keep the hips level and stable. This creates a deeper level of engagement through the quads and glutes while also challenging balance and coordination. The alternating pattern closely mirrors how your body stabilizes while walking, making the carryover especially noticeable.
Muscles Trained: Glutes, quads, hamstrings, and core stabilizers.
How to Do It:
Start in a glute bridge position.
Lift one foot slightly off the bed.
Hold briefly while keeping your hips level.
Lower it back down.
Alternate sides in a controlled rhythm.
Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.
Best Variations: Slow marching, pause marching, alternating holds.
Form Tip: Keep your hips steady and avoid letting them drop.
Squat-to-Stand
The squat-to-stand movement helps bridge the gap between lying down and standing up while reinforcing thigh strength. As you move from the bed to a standing position, your quads and glutes work together to produce force and control the transition. This makes the movement feel practical and directly tied to daily life. Over time, it builds confidence in your ability to stand up smoothly and without hesitation.
Muscles Trained: Quads, glutes, hamstrings, and core.
How to Do It:
Sit near the edge of your bed.
Place your feet flat on the floor.
Lean slightly forward.
Drive through your feet to stand up.
Slowly sit back down with control.
Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.
Best Variations: Slow tempo sit-to-stand, pause sit-to-stand, assisted sit-to-stand.
Form Tip: Keep your chest tall and push through your heels.
Side-Lying Leg Lifts
Side-lying leg lifts target the outer thighs and hips, which play a key role in stabilizing your body during movement. As you lift your top leg, the muscles along the side of your hip engage to control the motion and keep your pelvis steady. This support becomes especially important for balance and walking. With consistent practice, these muscles help create a more stable and controlled stride.
Muscles Trained: Outer thighs, hip abductors, and glutes.
How to Do It:
Lie on your side with your legs stacked.
Support your head with your arm.
Lift your top leg upward.
Pause briefly at the top.
Lower your leg back down with control.
Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.
Best Variations: Slow tempo lifts, pause lifts, forward-angled lifts.
Form Tip: Keep your hips stacked and avoid rolling backward.
Supported Split Squats
Supported split squats add a single-leg strength component to the routine while still allowing you to control the movement. With one foot grounded and the other supported, the working leg builds strength through the quads and glutes while the core helps stabilize your position. This creates a balanced challenge that improves both strength and coordination. Over time, it helps restore confidence in each leg’s ability to function independently.
Muscles Trained: Quads, glutes, hamstrings, and core stabilizers.
How to Do It:
Stand next to your bed and place one foot behind you on the mattress.
Keep your front foot flat on the floor.
Lower your body into a split squat.
Push through your front foot to stand back up.
Repeat and then switch sides.
Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.
Best Variations: Shallow range split squats, slow tempo split squats, assisted split squats.
Form Tip: Keep your front knee tracking over your toes.
Simple Habits That Help You Build Stronger Legs After 60

Building stronger thighs doesn’t require long, exhausting workouts. It comes from stacking small, effective efforts that reinforce the work you’re doing each morning. When these habits become part of your routine, your legs respond by getting stronger, more stable, and more reliable throughout the day.
Start your day with movement: A few minutes of targeted exercise in the morning helps wake up your muscles and sets the tone for better movement throughout the day.
Stay consistent with your routine: Repeating these exercises regularly builds momentum and reinforces strength gains.
Focus on controlled reps: Moving with intention helps activate more muscle and improve coordination.
Stay active throughout the day: Walking and light movement help maintain strength and endurance.
Progress gradually: Small increases in reps or difficulty keep your muscles challenged.
Support your training with proper nutrition: Eating enough protein helps your body rebuild and maintain muscle.
Listen to your body: Adjust intensity as needed while staying consistent with movement.
Stick with these exercises and habits, and you’ll build stronger, more capable legs that support you from the moment you get out of bed.

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling made a charming appearance with their royal blended family at the Easter Sunday service in Windsor, capturing attention as they arrived at St George’s Chapel.
As Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest grandchild, Peter walked side by side with his fiancée, Harriet, who works as an NHS nurse. The couple’s display of unity was a heartwarming sight, further emphasized by the presence of their children.
Following closely were Peter’s daughters, Savannah and Isla, alongside Harriet’s 13-year-old daughter, Georgina, marking her first public appearance with the family. This gathering underscored the harmonious merging of their families.
Harriet exuded elegance in her attire, opting for a sky-blue spotted peplum jacket and skirt, complemented by a Jane Taylor hat and Kiki McDonough earrings, adding a touch of sophistication to the occasion.
Their procession was led by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, who braved the blustery weather as they walked from Windsor Castle, setting the stage for this traditional event.
The large – and notably young – party chatted happily as they walked.
Kate wore an off-white ensemble of skirt, smart jacket and leafy hat, while William and the boys wore dark blue suits and ties.
Princess Charlotte, sporting a pretty dress under a warm camel-coloured coat with a brown velvet collar and cuffs, looked delighted and waved to the crowd. Louis walked proudly beside her.

Also in the group were The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, with The Duke of Edinburgh and his son James, Earl of Wessex, 18.
At the rear of the group were Lady Sarah Chatto and her husband, Daniel.
Peter, 19th in the line of succession, popped the question with a sparkling ring which boasts a subtle but touching tribute to his beloved grandmother, having been designed by the same jeweller behind her iconic 1946 ring.
Harriet herself boasts wealthy connections, sharing a relation to the Duke of Gloucester through her late father, Rupert Sperling.
After the hour-long service – during which prayers were said for the Royal Family and the National Anthem sung – the royal party moved from the chapel to the deanery for tea with the Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend Christopher Cocksworth.
After around 20 minutes, Charles appeared alongside Camilla, who was presented with a beautiful posy by Kit Bannan, 10, a member of the Windsor Castle community.
The King and Queen’s State Bentley had drawn up outside with no plans for a walkabout given how cold and windy it was, but the couple walked around it to undertake a shortened meet-and-greet, given the cheers of the public waiting patiently outside the chapel.
Among them was Frank Gates, seven, from Egremont in Cumbria, who was smartly dressed in the uniform of the Coldstream Guards and proudly saluted his Colonel-in-Chief, the King.
Before their arrival he said: ‘I really want to be in the Coldstream Guards when I am older.’ Asked why, he said sweetly: ‘Because they are second to none.’
Royal ‘superfan’ John Loughrey, from south London, said afterwards that His Majesty had spotted their flags: ‘He said he had seen our flags and wished us happy Easter.’
As the car drew away, the other members of the royal party came up the steps, led by the Waleses, who all – children included – waved happily to well-wishers wishing them ‘Happy Easter’.
As they walked back up the hill to the castle, Catherine could be seen giving her daughter, Charlotte, a proud hug, placing her arm around her shoulders and squeezing her.
Peter and Harriet held hands as they walked back to the castle. They were followed by Princess Anne and her husband, then her granddaughter, Savannah and Isla Phillips, along with her soon-to-be step-sister, Georgina.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold previously told the Daily Mail that he is almost certain the pair will not be restrained by traditional royal protocol.
Acknowledging that times are ‘very different’ now, he said: ‘Historically, yes, royal weddings, if you’re divorced and you got married again, it was always a much more low key affair.’
Yet, while Peter is seemingly unlikely to abide by all of the traditions of the Firm on the big day, Mr Harrold is confident that Peter and Harriet will likely enjoy an ‘all-white wedding’.
He adds: ‘I think he’ll still want to do things even though he’s the divorcee. I still think it will be a full-blown white wedding affair.’
Harriet herself is known for having strong religious roots – having previously shared how she took great strength from her Christian faith as she battled through the early years of single parenthood when ‘resources were scarce and the future was uncertain’.
In an interview in 2009, she revealed that her ‘faith was always in me, but it was kind of dormant’.
She added: ‘Somehow it didn’t seem relevant to my life in London. But the end of a seven-year relationship was the turning point for me. I went to church as I felt there was something missing.’
In a piece written for Christian magazine Woman Alive last year, she also admitted that she’d often found life as a single parent difficult, but found comfort after turning to her faith.

During her tenure leading the Civil Rights Division, Dhillon has initiated several significant legal actions. These include lawsuits against states that have refused to provide statewide voter registration lists, as well as cases related to Title IX violations, particularly focusing on the controversial issue of allowing male students to participate in female sports teams at schools.
Known for her assertive and proactive approach, Harmeet Dhillon is often described as a dynamic “go-getter.” Her reputation suggests she might be the ideal candidate to support President Trump’s ongoing efforts to address entrenched bureaucratic challenges.
The move marks a major move up the Justice Department ranks for Dhillon, who was sworn in as Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division in April 2025.
Dhillon has brought some high-profile actions while heading up the Civil Rights division, including suing states for refusing to hand over statewide voter registration lists, as well as for Title IX violations, including most notably allowing boys to compete on girls’ sports teams in the schools.
The news comes amid reshuffling of top DOJ officials following the president’s decision to remove Bondi. Trump met Bondi before his Wednesday evening speech and told her that she was being replaced, The Daily Wire reported earlier this week.
Todd Blanche is serving as the acting attorney general, and could remain in that role for quite some time, a source familiar with the president’s thinking shared on Saturday, noting that the president has no plans to nominate anyone else right at this time.
Harmeet Dhillon has something of a reputation for being a “go-get ’em” type, which may be just what is needed right now to help with President Trump’s swamp-draining efforts.
Matthew McConaughey recently expressed his gratitude to David Beckham for his significant role in elevating soccer’s profile in the United States. The celebrated actor made his way to Inter Miami to witness the unveiling of their new $1 billion stadium last Saturday.
Known for his unwavering loyalty to his beloved Texan Longhorns and as a supporter of Austin FC, the 56-year-old McConaughey attended the MLS match between Inter Miami CF and Austin FC at the newly opened Nu Stadium.
McConaughey was so moved by Beckham’s contributions to Major League Soccer in the U.S. that he took to social media platform X to compose a heartfelt letter of appreciation. In it, he acknowledged the former footballer’s pivotal influence on the sport.
Beckham, who serves as the co-owner and president of Inter Miami, has overseen the club’s impressive valuation growth, projected to reach approximately $1.35 billion by 2026, largely due to the “Messi effect.”
In his open letter, aptly titled “Mr Beckham young man,” McConaughey wrote, “As Austin visits Miami today for a little shindig on your new pitch, I want to first shout out a sincere ‘thank you’ – you didn’t create soccer over here in the US, but you damn sure supercharged it.”
‘When you came to the Galaxy you gave MLS fresh legitimacy, you turned games into events, and you essentially changed MLS from a proving ground to a premier destination – THANK YOU.

Matthew was so impressed by what David, who is the co-owner and president of Inter Miami, has done for Major League Soccer in America, he took to X to pen an open letter
‘Now, you’re out in Miami, on a similar mission just in a different position – I’ll top my hat to that. Now, I write you today, because my Austin FC club and a busload of verde and black fans are coming into your sea of pink and looking to upset your opening party, so I’m gonna need you and your buddy Leo to make some room for us this weekend.
‘And with the world’s eyes upon us as this summer draws near, we here in the capital of Texas look forward to stopping by to continue cementing one more cornerstone of American soccer for the world to witness.’
David addressed the fans alongside co-owners Jorge and Jose Mas to celebrate the stadium’s opening.
The stadium itself features a permanent tribute to the star, with a section on the east side officially dedicated as the ‘Leo Messi Stand.’
‘We believed in Miami,’ David said. ‘And Miami believed in us.’
Lionel scored Inter Miami’s first-ever goal and the game eventually ended 2-2 after Austin’s Jayden Nelson restored the visitors’ advantage, before Luis Suarez restored parity in the game with nine minutes left.
It marked the first time that Inter Miami played a game in its namesake city, having previously spent more than six years calling Fort Lauderdale home.
The stadium itself is reported to have cost around $350 million, however the entire Miami Freedom Park campus will cost approximately $1 billion to construct.
Titling it ‘Mr Beckham young man’, he wrote: ‘As Austin visits Miami today for a little shindig on your new pitch, I want to first shout out a sincere ‘thank you’
He captioned the post: ‘sent’

The complex will feature the 26,700-seater stadium, a 5,000 space parking lot, a 750-room hotel, a retail village, 58 acres of public parks and community football fields.
According to the club, the new stadium has been entirely privately funded and required no city money to complete construction. However, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis did allocate $8 million in public funding to complete a road around the stadium.
