Nine individuals, among them rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big 30, have been detained in relation to a scheme involving robbery and kidnapping targeting the celebrated rapper Gucci Mane.

On Thursday, the Department of Justice revealed that this group had forcibly abducted and robbed several people, including the 46-year-old Gucci Mane, at a Dallas music studio in early January.

The authorities stated that eight of these suspects were apprehended on Wednesday across Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville.

According to a complaint filed on January 10, the DoJ reported that three music industry figures, which included Pooh Shiesty (real name Lontrell Denell Williams Jr.), convened a meeting to discuss the terms of a recording contract with one of the victims.

The 26-year-old rapper, known for his track ‘Back in Blood,’ along with his alleged accomplices, is accused of orchestrating an armed takeover. The DoJ documents suggest that Shiesty brandished an AK-style firearm to coerce a victim into signing a release from the recording contract under duress.

The remaining members of the group then proceeded to rob the other victims at the meeting of their Rolex watches, jewelry, cash and other high-value items. 

Shiesty has been signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label since April 2020.  

The document also alleges that one of the victims was choked close to the point of unconsciousness during the assault. Memphis rapper Big 30 then reportedly barricaded the door of the meeting room to prevent victims from escaping.

Shiesty’s father Lontrell Denell Williams Sr. reportedly also had a hand in helping to orchestrate and execute the kidnapping. 

Within hours of the January 10 robbery, the Memphis rapper and multiple of the suspects reportedly posted pictures of the items they stole on social media. 

Local Memphis outlet WATN reported on Wednesday that the FBI executed a warrant at Pooh Shiesty’s Tennessee home, where he was arrested shortly thereafter.  

Shiesty is less than a year out of his recent jail stint in October 2025 where he served three years for a gun charge.

He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of violent crimes and drug trafficking. Following his release, he was placed on house arrest and, as part of the conditions, was prohibited from possessing firearms.

The rapper is no stranger to run-ins with the law. He was arrested in June 2020 for armed robbery, aggravated assault, battery, and criminal theft, and then, in June 2021, he was taken into custody again in connection to a shooting at a strip club in Miami. 

Gucci Mane’s 1017 label has been cursed with tragedy after at least seven artists on his label have either died or gone to jail over the years.

Back in December 2022, rapper Big Scarr died tragically from an accidental prescription drug overdose at age 22.  

One month later, Hotboy Wes was arrested for numerous charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, and endangering children.

He was ultimately sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty.

Foogiano, who served three years in jail for burglary and robbery charges before he joined 1017, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in December 2020, and he received a five-year sentence for it.

And in June 2024, it was revealed that a young 1017 musician known as Enchanting had passed away after an overdose reportedly left her on life support.

The scrutiny against Gucci Mane, real name Radric Delantic Davis, became so intense after the string of misfortune at his label that his wife Keshia Ka’oir Davis was forced to intervene and defend him.

‘Leave my husband alone!’, she said on Instagram in response to the flurry of criticism. ‘He signs these artists to help them and give them a better life! I wish it wasn’t like this!’ 

The Atlanta rapper revealed in October 2025 that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in his book ‘Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man.’

He said that he was hospitalized by his wife in 2020 after a bad mental heath episode that forced her to step in.

‘I called his attorney, I called some bodyguards and I planned a whole kidnap and we kidnapped him and took him to the hospital,’ she shared on The Breakfast Club radio show.

‘He was trying to fight them and everything, but it was six of them and he couldn’t handle it. We threw him in the car and he would try to jump out of the car so we put him in the center of the car.’

The Guwop rapper admitted on the show that he had to ‘hold himself accountable’ in order to ‘never have an episode again.’ 

He added that he sought help from a therapist and was open to taking medication in order to heal.

‘I kinda threw the towel in. [Whatever] I need to do to get better. I just didn’t ever want to have that happen again.’ 

A girl from Arizona, who disappeared at the tender age of 13 under circumstances once deemed “suspicious” by authorities, has been discovered alive after more than thirty years. This development not only brings closure to a long-standing cold case but also stirs fresh inquiries about her whereabouts and the true nature of her disappearance.

This week, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Christina “Tina” Marie Plante, who went missing from Star Valley, Arizona, in 1994, has been found and positively identified after 32 years. Officials confirm that she is alive, marking the official resolution of her case.

However, details from investigators remain scarce beyond this announcement.

Per the original missing person report, Plante was last observed around 12:30 p.m. on May 15, 1994, departing her residence on Moonlight Drive in Star Valley on foot. She mentioned to others that she intended to visit a nearby stable where her horse was kept, but she never reached her destination.

At the time, authorities classified her case as “missing/endangered” under suspicious circumstances, signaling concern that she may have been in danger or the victim of foul play.

She was described as having blue eyes and dark blonde hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, multicolored shorts and black tennis shoes.

Despite extensive searches involving law enforcement, volunteers and regional resources, no viable leads emerged.

For years, Plante’s case remained open, periodically reviewed by investigators and preserved in national missing persons databases.

The sheriff’s office credits the eventual breakthrough to the formation of a Cold Case Unit and advances in modern investigative techniques.

“Utilizing advances in technology, modern investigative techniques, and detailed case review, detectives developed new leads that ultimately led to a breakthrough,” the agency said.

After more than three decades, authorities confirmed Plante’s identity and location. She is now approximately 44 years old.

While the outcome is rare and remarkable, officials are withholding nearly all details about what happened during the decades she was missing. The sheriff’s office has not said where Plante has been since 1994, whether her disappearance involved a crime or how investigators ultimately located her.

“Out of respect for Christina’s privacy and well-being, additional details will not be released at this time,” the agency said.

Authorities emphasized that the case’s resolution underscores the importance of cold case investigations and evolving technology in generating new leads, even decades later. Officials are encouraging anyone with information about other unresolved cases to come forward.

Kirk Cousins is set to command significant financial attention this season with the Raiders. The seasoned quarterback has agreed to terms with Las Vegas that will see him pocket a guaranteed $20 million for this year alone. This agreement, which includes a club option extending for two additional years at a potential $80 million, could see the deal balloon to as much as $172 million over the course of five years.

This substantial guarantee is a marked increase from the $10 million Cousins was set to receive from the Falcons before they decided to part ways in March. The decision came after two seasons that failed to meet expectations in their $180 million commitment.

Under the terms of Cousins’ deal with the Raiders, the franchise will provide a minimum base salary of $1.3 million. Meanwhile, the Falcons, who had previously secured Cousins with a four-year contract worth $100 million guaranteed in 2024, will still owe him $8.7 million in 2026. This financial arrangement was detailed by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Additionally, as part of this lucrative package, Cousins is set to receive a fully guaranteed $10 million roster bonus, payable on the third day of the new league year in 2027. This commitment underscores the Raiders’ belief in Cousins as a cornerstone for their offensive strategy moving forward.

Cousins’ marriage with the Raiders marks the 11th straight season his contract will be fully guaranteed.

Through 2026, Cousins ranks in the top five of NFL career earnings, according to Spotrac, which placed his earnings at $331.1 million.

The quarterback — who also played for Washington and Minnesota — is in elite company with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford ($448.3 million), Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott ($337.8 million) and future Hall of Famer Tom Brady ($332.9 million), a minority owner of Cousins’ new team.

The Raiders have their eyes on the future with the No. 1 overall pick in this month’s draft, with the team largely expected to select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

If Mendoza joins Cousins, it’s likely the 37-year-old veteran will start, as first-year coach Klint Kubiak has been vocal about not wanting to throw a young signal caller into the lions’ den immediately.

“Ideally, you don’t want him to start day one. You’d love him to be able to learn behind somebody. That’s in a perfect world,” Kubiak said Tuesday, according to ESPN. “It doesn’t always work out that way. Sometimes they have to play from day one, and it’s our job as a coach to get them ready to go. I think it does help the player, though, if they can sit behind a mature adult and watch how they run the show.”

That plan was enacted in Cousins’ previous stop, when the Falcons stunningly drafted Michael Penix Jr. eighth overall after signing Cousins in free agency months prior.

In New Hampshire, a persistent public health issue has emerged involving a homeless man who has been living with active tuberculosis for over eight months. Despite ongoing efforts, state authorities have been unable to persuade him to comply with isolation protocols.

Forty-one-year-old Nearro F. Forbes has been wandering the streets of Manchester and Nashua, turning down numerous offers for medical assistance, according to a report by the Boston Globe. Forbes’s refusal to accept treatment has placed him at the center of a growing public health challenge.

In response, state officials have attempted to enforce isolation by directing him to three different hospitals, all of which he has managed to evade. The situation has reached a critical point, prompting the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to seek judicial intervention.

Last week, DHHS petitioned a judge to authorize Forbes’s isolation in a male prison located in Concord. This facility was specifically selected because it houses a state-of-the-art negative pressure room, designed to securely isolate individuals and prevent the spread of infectious diseases during treatment.

The prison was chosen as the site to hold him because it has an airtight negative pressure room that would keep him away from others as he is treated.

Despite the state attorney general’s office raising legal concerns about having the New Hampshire Department of Corrections detain him, Merrimack County Superior Court Judge Martin P. Honigberg issued an order on Tuesday agreeing that DHHS’s isolation order was justified.

Honigberg’s order directed Forbes to ‘immediately isolate at a fixed place of his choosing’ and also submit to medical treatment and observation for 30 days.

If he does not comply, he could be held in contempt of court, which would land him in jail.

This comes after the state announced in October that more than 650 people were potentially exposed to someone with active tuberculosis at homeless clinics and correctional facilities in Nashua and Manchester during the first half of 2025.

Officials declined to say whether Forbes was the originator of the bacterial infection.

After 100 of the potentially exposed people were tested, two more cases of active tuberculosis were discovered.

New Hampshire typically has about 12 cases of tuberculosis per year and has not released its official tally for last year.

Elizabeth Maynard, a DHHS attorney, told the Globe that the state has provided tuberculosis testing clinics and contract-tracing services to anyone who believes they may have been exposed.

Maynard also hinted that this will be the strategy going forward, rather than expending overwhelming resources toward trying to detain Forbes, who will likely remain uncompliant.

Honigberg said in his order that officials have tried getting Forbes to isolate at less restrictive places than a prison. This included an outpatient treatment facility for substance abuse, a transitional housing unit or even a motel.

In October, officials ordered Forbes into isolation at Elliot Hospital in Manchester but he did not comply.

In November, they ordered him to isolate at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, but he left after a few hours.

Authorities lost touch with him for the next three months until he was spotted showing symptoms at a warming station in Nashua.

Tuberculosis spreads through the air and most people don’t start showing symptoms immediately. The bacteria that causes TB disease can live dormant in a person’s body for months.

As the bacteria grows, infected people can experience a range of symptoms, including chest pain, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, chills and night sweats, according to the CDC. In extreme cases, sufferers can cough up blood.

It’s not clear what symptoms Forbes has, but it is possible for someone to have tuberculosis for months if they forego treatment. If the infection continues without any medical intervention, Forbes could die.

Forbes was intercepted by authorities last week while he showed up for a court hearing on unrelated charges. He was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua and was ordered to stay there.

He left and the hospital said they would only accept him back if the state provides a 24/7 security detail.

Maynard told the Globe that her department does not have the money to hire security.

Her last hope is that Forbes is brought in and charged with a misdemeanor for disobeying the DHHS isolation order. In that scenario, she would not want the state to detain him in a county facility and expose other inmates. 

Steven Bowen faces serious accusations, including premeditated murder and evidence tampering, following the discovery of his wife’s death, as indicated by jail records.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that Nancy Metayer Bowen’s body was discovered at approximately 10 a.m. during a welfare check, confirming her unfortunate passing.

Limited information has been provided regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, including the specific cause.

On Thursday morning, Stephen Bowen stood before a judge during a bond hearing, resulting in a decision to hold him without bond.

“I have reviewed the probable cause affidavit. The court does find probable cause for the charges,” the judge said.

Bowen was first elected to the Coral Springs City Commission in 2020 and was re-elected in 2024. She was appointed by the commission last November to serve a second, one-year term as vice mayor, according to her bio on the city’s website. 

Before being elected to the commission, Bowen worked as an environmental scientist who formerly served on the Broward County Soil and Water Conservation District, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Bowen’s family confirmed her death on her social media accounts. 

“Throughout her years in public office, she led with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering sense of purpose,” the family’s statement said. 

“She believed in bringing people together, listening to those she served, and working tirelessly to create positive change in her community. To us, she was a source of strength, wisdom, and love — someone who always put others before herself.

“While many knew her as a leader and advocate, we knew her as a sister, a daughter, and a friend whose warmth and laughter filled every room. Her legacy will live on not only in the policies she helped shape, but in the countless lives she touched.”

The Coral Springs government Facebook page paid tribute to Bowen, calling her “leadership grounded in compassion, strength, and an unwavering commitment to others.”

U.S. Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost, D-Fla., said he was saddened to hear of Bowen’s death, remembering her as a “tireless advocate, a dedicated progressive leader, and a powerful voice for her community.”

Rep. Jared Moskowitz posted on X: “I’m in shock. I was just with her on Saturday. She just buried her brother. She was about to announce she was running for Congress.” 

“Nancy was one of the nicest people I worked with,” he said. “Always fighting for her community, always pushing to help. She had such a future. This is terrible.”

Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried said she spoke with Bowen a few days ago.

“I held her in a hug at our party’s leadership summit, never imagining it would be one of our last moments together,” Fried said in a statement. 

“Nancy was my friend and a friend to everyone who has ever believed that democracy was worth fighting for. The world is less bright without her in it.”
