Established in the 1950s, Art Mart emerged at a time when female entrepreneurship in Illinois was rare, with only one other similar venture in the state. Over the years, it has become a cherished part of the local landscape, moving across various locations within the community.

Art Mart began its journey in a building nestled between Fifth and Sixth Streets. It later moved to Green Street, then settled in Lincoln Square Mall, and has now found its home on Prospect Avenue. Throughout these transitions, the dedication to the business has remained steadfast.

US Army Probes Kid Rock’s Daring Helicopter Move

The US Army is investigating after a helicopter was filmed performing a low-altitude manoeuvre outside the home of musician Kid Rock while he saluted.

A well-known singer recently shared a video capturing an Apache attack helicopter soaring above his Nashville residence, as he stood by in salute.

He accompanied the Instagram post with a caption criticizing California’s governor, stating, “This is a level of respect that the so-called governor of California will never understand.” He concluded with a patriotic note, “God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

In response, the U.S. Army has launched an investigation to determine why the helicopter was flying so near the musician’s home.

A statement from Fort Campbell officials acknowledged the situation: “Fort Campbell leadership is aware of a video circulating on social media depicting AH-64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence associated with Mr. Robert Ritchie, also known as ‘Kid Rock’.”

“The command has initiated an investigation to review the circumstances surrounding this activity.”

The singer has become one of the few celebrities to still associate himself with Donald Trump.

“Our pilots do regularly fly routes outside the Fort Campbell area,” the Army spokesperson said.

“We just don’t know if it was incidental or if it was deliberate.”

Exploring Birthright Citizenship: Global Perspectives Ahead of Key Supreme Court Decision


The Supreme Court is set to deliberate once more on a significant issue: whether President Donald Trump has the authority to revoke citizenship rights for children born in the United States to parents who are either undocumented or in the country on a temporary basis.

This legal battle arises from an executive order that Trump enacted at the onset of his second term, which aimed to terminate the policy known as birthright citizenship. This policy traditionally grants U.S. citizenship to virtually anyone born on American soil.

Although birthright citizenship has been a cornerstone of U.S. law for over a hundred years, it remains a relatively uncommon practice in other parts of the world.

So, what exactly is birthright citizenship?

Birthright citizenship is anchored in the legal doctrine known as jus soli, which translates to the “right of the soil.”

In the U.S., the right was enshrined in the Constitution after the Civil War, in part to ensure that former slaves would be citizens.

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States,” the 14th Amendment states.

In the late 1800s, birthright citizenship was legally expanded to the children of immigrants.

Wong Kim Ark, who was born in the U.S. to Chinese parents, sued after traveling overseas and being denied reentry into the U.S. The Supreme Court eventually ruled that the amendment gives citizenship to everyone born in the U.S., no matter their parents’ legal status.

Today there are only a handful of birthright exceptions, such as for children born in the U.S. to foreign diplomats.

How is birthright citizenship seen around the world?

Only about three dozen countries, nearly all of them in the Americas, guarantee citizenship to children born on their territory.

Most countries follow the principle of jus sanguinis, or “right of blood,” with a child’s citizenship based on the citizenship of their parents, no matter where they are born.

None of the 27 member states of the European Union, for example, grant automatic, unconditional citizenship to children born on their territories to foreign citizens. The situation is similar across much of Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Some countries take a mixed approach

Some countries use a combination of principles, such as parenthood, residency and ethnicity, to decide a child’s citizenship.

Australia, for example, allowed birthright citizenship until 1986. But starting that August, children born there could only become citizens if at least one parent was an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.

Things shifted the other way in Germany, which changed its citizenship laws in 2024.

Until then, citizenship by birth required that at least one parent was German. Starting in 2024, though, children born in Germany to non-German parents are automatically granted German citizenship if one parent has been legally living in the country for more than five years with unlimited residency status.

Citizenship laws were liberalized because “studies have shown that the education prospects of children and teenagers with a migration background are better, the sooner they were granted German citizenship,” the government wrote at the time.

What is the Trump administration’s argument?

Supporters of birthright restrictions in the U.S. focus on a handful of words in the constitutional amendment: “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”

That phrase, they argue, means the U.S. can deny citizenship to children born to women who are in the country illegally.

A series of judges have ruled against the administration and the order has been repeatedly put on hold by lower courts.

Wednesday’s case originated in New Hampshire, where a U.S. district judge ruled the order “likely violates” both the Constitution and federal law.

California Sheriffs Unveil Revolutionary ‘Bat-Tech’ to Safely End High-Speed Car Chases

In a unique twist on crime-fighting, a sheriff’s department in California is taking inspiration from a renowned vigilante, famous for his high-tech gadgets, to aid in apprehending criminals.

This summer, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department plans to outfit 16 of its patrol cars with a device known as the “Grappler.” Inspired by Batman, this innovative tool is designed to stop vehicles attempting to evade law enforcement.

Leonard Stock, the creative mind behind the Grappler, shared with the LA Daily News that the concept came to him during a sudden moment of inspiration late one night.

As an avid viewer of police reality shows, Stock was often distressed by the injuries sustained by innocent people during high-speed chases, prompting him to take action.

The result was the Grappler—an apparatus that attaches to the front of a police car, resembling a net. When officers close in on a suspect, they can deploy the device to ensnare the rear tire of the fleeing vehicle, effectively bringing it to a halt.

A net then wraps around a single tire of the suspect’s vehicle, and then the patrol car can slow down, bringing the suspect’s vehicle to screeching stop with a long-tether.

Each Grappler costs $5,270, which doesn’t include installation and training. The net is not for sale to the public, Stock says.

The device found its first usage with the Phoenix Police Department in 2018, and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department became the first law enforcement agency in California to use it last year.

Stock says some officers say it looks like something that belongs on the Batmobile, Batman’s high-tech vehicle. “I talk to police officers constantly,” Stock said. “Almost every time, someone comes up to me and tells me they thought it was just a gimmick.”

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officers say the device is a “game-changer.”

“It’s a game-changer,” Lt. Jason Santistevan told the LA Daily News. “Being in law enforcement for about 22 years, this is probably the best technology we have right now at stopping pursuits … preventing them, as well.”

Riverside officers say the device could save lives. In one instance, a suspect entered the freeway driving the wrong direction, and cops halted him with the device.

“If you think of that scenario,” the lieutenant told the LA Daily News, “and you think about all these preemptive grapples that we’re doing now, preventing pursuits, one of the things that we can’t put a value on … what did we just prevent?

“If we didn’t have a Grappler system, that car went on the freeway, we could add a fatality.”

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office in Northern California has also deployed the device, along with a third law enforcement agency in California.

Joseph Duggar’s Controversial Mugshot: Not Guilty Plea Sparks Public Debate

Reality TV personality Joseph Duggar, known for his role in “Counting On,” appeared with a smirk in a recently released mugshot after pleading not guilty to grave accusations made by an underage accuser.

The 31-year-old, who is a father of four, was taken into custody on March 25 in Tontitown, Arkansas. The arrest followed allegations that he inappropriately touched a nine-year-old girl in Florida. Duggar formally entered a not guilty plea and has requested a jury trial, which was submitted in writing on March 29.

Following his arrest, Duggar was extradited to Florida and arrived in Bay County on Tuesday morning, shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to records from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. His new mugshot was taken upon his arrival.

In a related development, Duggar’s wife, Kendra, 27, was arrested in Tontitown on Friday. She faces four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. Joseph Duggar now also faces these same charges.

Meanwhile, his wife Kendra, 27, was taken into custody Friday in Tontitown and charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four charges of second-degree false imprisonment. Joseph is now also facing the same charges.

Kendra was released on bond about an hour and a half after her booking, while Joseph had signed an extradition waiver to face charges in Florida, according to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Days ago, it emerged that Joseph’s accuser, who is currently 14, alleged she suffered ‘several incidents of sexual abuse’ when she was nine years old on a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, according to the affidavit obtained by the Daily Mail. 

She made the claims in a forensic interview she gave to a detective with the Tontitown Police Department, per an affidavit written by Deputy Sheriff Darrell Norris of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Lynn Haven, Florida.

At the time of the Florida vacation described in the document, Joseph and Kendra had two children and she was pregnant with their third. 

Joseph’s accuser told a detective that during the Florida vacation, she ‘would sit on the defendant’s lap’ and he would ‘cradle [her] with his arms,’ the affidavit states.

As the holiday progressed, Joseph’s behavior is said to have evolved, according to the underage girl’s account of events as relayed in the legal document.

Joseph is claimed to have requested that she ‘sit on the couch beside [him],’ whereupon he supposedly ‘covered the parties with a blanket,’ per the affidavit.

The document adds: ‘Once the parties were covered, the defendant would pull the victim’s dress up and touch the victim’s thighs.’

The accuser also asserted that ‘during these incidents [Joseph’s] hand grazed [her] vagina’ and his ‘hand was outside of her underwear’ – an occurrence she said took place ‘several times,’ leaving her ‘confused’ and ‘uncomfortable.’

Joseph’s accuser also said he ‘eventually approached the victim and apologized for his actions’ and then ‘the incidents stopped occurring,’ the affidavit claims.

After the underage girl gave her forensic interview to the Arkansas detective, Deputy Sheriff Darrell Norris in Florida – the officer who wrote the affidavit – ‘requested the detective and victim’s father call Joseph’ in order to obtain a confession from him.

The affidavit claims that during the call, Joseph ‘admitted his actions, stating he touched the victim over her clothing’ and ‘admitted his intentions were not pure.’ 

According to the authorities, a judge signed off on an affidavit that included the contents of that phone conversation, whereupon an arrest warrant was issued to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office then apparently sent the warrant to the police in Arkansas, leading to Joseph’s arrest in Tontitown.

He was taken into custody last week in connection with lewd and lascivious behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a statement from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Lynn Haven, Florida announced.

An investigator with the Tontitown Police Department in Tontitown, Arkansas reached out to the BCSO ‘regarding a report of past sexual abuse.’

An alleged victim, identified as a 14-year-old girl, told law enforcement about a series of inappropriate incidents Duggar was involved in around five years back, police said.

Duggar and Kendra’s new charges in Arkansas are reportedly not related to his case in the state of Florida. 

Family members have since broken silence on his arrest, such as brother Josh – who is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for possessing child pornography. 

His attorney told the Daily Mail: ‘Josh understands the stigma of being accused.

‘He lives with the painful reality of how false accusations can destroy a life. He understands how the targeting of a person for publicity can twist the truth into sensationalized fiction.’ 

The attorney said that the brothers ‘are not in frequent communication’ but Josh ‘hopes and prays for his brother’s well being in this difficult time.’ 

His sister Jill has also spoken out by uploading a post to her family blog which she shares with husband Derick Dillard.

‘We first learned of anything related to his charges yesterday via a text from a friend who messaged us about the recent media reports of Joseph’s arrest and his alleged confession to molesting a juvenile female in 2020. We are shocked and heartbroken.’ 

They added, ‘We strongly condemn abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved. Our hearts go out to the innocent juvenile victim of this unspeakable crime and her family.

‘We pray God gives her strength, comfort and hope, and that she is able to get all the help and support she needs and deserves in the days ahead.’ 

Jill and Derick also sent love to Kendra and her four children while praying ‘that they feel loved and supported during this time as we cannot imagine the indescribable pain they feel as they process and grieve everything.’

The post was uploaded on Thursday, just one day before Kendra’s arrest for allegedly endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment. 

Duggar’s mugshot was released on Wednesday evening by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Fayetteville, Arkansas. 

The former reality star sported a thick beard, and he gazed forward with a stony expression, which notably contrasted the grinning 2021 mugshot of his brother Josh, which had also been snapped in Washington County. 

The alleged victim told investigators that the family had been staying at a home located on Danny Drive at the time of the illegal incidents.

‘During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals.’

Duggar subsequently told the alleged victim he was sorry, and the incidents ceased, according to officials with the BCSO.

The father of the alleged victim confronted Joseph Duggar about what happened on Tuesday, at which time he admitted to his actions to the father and a detective in Tontitown, the BCSO said. 

Joseph Duggar was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with Lewd and Lascivious Behavior – Molestation of a Victim Less Than 12-years-old; and Lewd and Lascivious Behavior Conducted By A Person 18 Years or Older.

Duggar’s confession to the girl’s father and a detective was included in an affidavit filed by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, which was obtained by People.

During the phone call, Duggar ‘admitted his actions’ and confessed that he ‘touched the victim over her clothing,’ per the affidavit. 

At the time, the TV personality had ‘admitted his intentions were not pure.’ 

His cousin Amy Duggar also recently broke her silence to share she was ‘utterly shocked’ but ‘not surprised’ over his arrest. 

She said in a statement to People on Friday: ‘In light of the recent allegations involving my cousin, Joseph Duggar, I am sickened, heartbroken and deeply angry.’ 

Amy added, ‘My first thoughts are with the victim, a child who deserved to be safe, protected and surrounded by people she could trust.

‘The courage it took for her to come forward, especially after years of carrying something so heavy, cannot be overstated. That bravery deserves to be honored above all else.’

‘I’m praying for eyes to be opened and above all, I pray that justice will be served to the fullest.’

Dave Portnoy has made a bold statement regarding Tiger Woods’ recent DUI arrest, suggesting that the golfing icon deserves to be “behind bars.”

In the latest installment of his sports talk show, “Wake Up Barstool,” the Barstool Sports founder shared his thoughts on Woods’ car crash and subsequent arrest in Jupiter Island, Florida, which occurred last Friday. The episode, released on Monday, saw Portnoy addressing his audience with a critical question.

“What is wrong with Tiger Woods?” Portnoy, 49, asked listeners, emphasizing the need for the legendary golfer to have a dedicated driver. “You can have somebody drive you. He should have a driver with him wherever he goes. There is no excuse.” His remarks were underscored by a concern for road safety.

Portnoy elaborated on the dangers of impaired driving, stating, “When you get behind the wheel impaired, you’re not just putting yourself at risk, you’re putting anybody else on the road and innocent people at risk.” These comments reflect a broader issue of responsibility and the potential consequences of such actions.

In a decisive conclusion, Portnoy asserted that Woods, who is 50, should face incarceration as a means of learning from this incident and understanding the gravity of driving under the influence.

“You can’t make light of it, and I have no sympathy for the guy,” he charged. “Put him behind bars. Put him in jail for a little bit and make him wake up.”

Portnoy then told Woods once again to “just get a driver.”

“It’s not hard,” he concluded. “Seriously, you cannot have sympathy for the guy right now. Get a driver, you’re going to kill somebody innocent.”

A rep for Woods did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The golf icon’s DUI arrest last week came moments after Woods was involved in a rollover car crash just blocks from his home.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed during a press conference that the five-time Masters champion “showed signs of impairment” and “refused a urinalysis test” following his scary car crash.

A police report obtained by Page Six revealed that “two white pills” later “revealed to be hydrocodone” were found inside the troubled golfer’s “left side pant pocket.”

While Woods claimed he had not consumed any alcohol or illegal substances before the crash, the affidavit said that he admitted to taking “a few” prescription medications.

As for why the golf great hasn’t hired a professional driver to chauffeur him around, an insider told People over the weekend that Woods “doesn’t want anyone to watch over him or know what he is doing.”

The source also said that Woods, who was previously busted for a DUI in Jupiter, Florida, in May 2017, “thinks he is fine to drive.”

Portnoy isn’t the first critic who has called out the 82-time PGA Tour winner over his latest crash and DUI arrest.

Former NFL star Emmanuel Acho told Woods to grow up during his own sports talk show over the weekend.

“Tiger, you got too many responsibilities, too much money, too much wisdom, and too many gray hairs to, at this big age, in this big year of 2026, be going to jail for DUIs,” Acho, 35, said during “Speakeasy.”

“How many times are we going to see this happen?” the retired linebacker added. “And I’m tired of making exceptions for famous celebrities.”

Meanwhile, an insider suggested that Woods’ latest DUI arrest could mark the beginning of the end of his relationship with Vanessa Trump.

“If he can’t fix this, she will 100 percent walk,” a source told the Daily Mail of Vanessa, 48, on Monday.

Progress and success are not always linear. Lewis-Skelly has had to take a step backwards at both Arsenal and with England. His mental toughness has been put to the test for the first time in years.

To this point Lewis-Skelly’s trajectory had been an improbably steep incline.

He made just five appearances for England’s Under 16s before being pushed into the Under-17s. He has just four caps at Under-18s level, and only five for the Under 19s before bypassing the Under 21s completely to get six caps under Tuchel’s watch with the seniors, starting five of them.

But now he is, finally, in with the Under 21s with his club future up in the air and his prospects of making England’s World Cup squad seen as slim-to-none with Lewis Hall and Nico O’Reilly surpassing him in the pecking order.

He finds himself at a crossroads with Arsenal – Daily Mail Sport understands he is under consideration at Manchester United having been offered up to United by intermediaries – and is on the outside looking in with England.

The question inside the FA was, how would Lewis-Skelly respond to it all? Would he embrace the challenges that come with leading a youth team? Would he fancy it in minus-four degrees on an Astroturf in Andorra in front of thousands of empty seats?

‘He’s not had a lot of minutes recently so for your first game for the Under-21s, on artificial turf, against Andorra, it would have been a bit of an eye opener for him.

‘But he played in the right spirit, and he was a good example for the rest of the players, considering he’s a senior international. He applied himself very well.’

Staff at the FA are big on the idiosyncrasies that come with an international call-up. How players behave around team-mates, how they interact with staff, whether they are, in the eyes of staff, a good ‘tourist’ or ‘leader’ are all things that get fed back. Both Hall and Tino Livramento got glowing references when it came to this side of it.

‘I noticed how enthusiastic he is,’ Carsley added. ‘That’s always in the back of your mind, when you go from the seniors back to the Under-21s, that the motivation may not be there.

‘But we’ve never had that from any player since I’ve been doing the 21s, so that’s a real positive. He’s been really good around the group, showing his qualities.’

In Andorra, Lewis-Skelly will likely have come away from it frustrated at his limited opportunities to show what he can do. After all, if World Cup hopes are still in play, opportunities to make a case are running out.

On the night he made just 16 pass attempts in Andorra’s half and only made and completed one dribble across 90 minutes.

Often he looked to invert into midfield, routinely finding himself in a No 10 position up alongside, or even ahead of, captain Jobe Bellingham.

In Carsley’s mind, Lewis-Skelly is firmly a midfielder playing at left back and not a left back drifting into midfield.

But when the players’ debrief arrived the following day, there was also a lot to take from a game that is the type of battle testing that stands players in good stead when elevated to the seniors.

Hall and Newcastle team-mate Livramento both benefitted immensely from time in the Under-21s to hone their game before being catapulted back into the spotlight with Tuchel’s seniors.

Rarely do young, high-potential players get the time to develop back. For Lewis-Skelly, this is a golden opportunity that Hall, Livramento and others such as Elliot Anderson have shown can set you up for senior success.

He will get a second opportunity, in what is hoped to be more mild climates down in Norwich against Moldova on Tuesday night, to show what he is all about while 122 miles away his competitors for the left back spot face Japan at Wembley.

Frustration is normal, if bottled up the right way.

Having made his senior Arsenal debut away against Manchester City and getting a taste of the UEFA Champions League in that same month of October 2024, Lewis-Skelly dropped back down to Arsenal’s Under 21s to face MK Dons in front of 2,427 people.

Things looked easy for him that night – and he often looked frustrated. Then he exploded with the first team, England recognition arrived, and he is still only 19. This moment in time is so similar to back then.

A Tennessee man is facing a potential prison sentence of over ten years following his conviction for stabbing his pregnant ex-girlfriend ten times, an incident marking his third alleged assault on her during a single summer.

Deandre Wilkins, 36, was found guilty of aggravated assault on Monday, according to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office. Wilkins is now facing a 15-year prison term, with sentencing slated for May 1. Initially arrested on charges of attempted murder and domestic assault, a grand jury later indicted Wilkins for aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping, though he was acquitted of the latter charge.

The case dates back to an incident on the evening of September 20, 2024, when Memphis police were dispatched to a parking lot on Havana Street, located on the city’s south side. Upon arrival, paramedics discovered the victim with multiple stab wounds and swiftly transported her to a hospital. She later recounted to detectives that while she was walking with friends, Wilkins approached her, struck her in the face, and then launched his brutal attack, according to a criminal complaint.

During the assault, Wilkins allegedly brandished a kitchen knife, stabbing the woman repeatedly while uttering, “I told you I was going to get you.” She survived the harrowing ordeal and subsequently identified Wilkins from a photo lineup. The pair had dated for roughly a year before ending their relationship a few months prior to the attack, during which time the woman was pregnant with his child.

This violent episode was reportedly the third instance of Wilkins assaulting the woman within a span of three months. On July 24, 2024, he allegedly struck her in the face multiple times and stole her purse. The victim did not report this earlier incident immediately.

On Aug. 5, 2024, Wilkins allegedly held the victim and her four kids captive in their apartment. A criminal complaint said Wilkins punched her in the mouth and threatened to kill her if she tried to leave. He also allegedly picked up a kettlebell weight and said “I will smash your face in if you try to leave!”

Cops arrested Wilkins on charges of aggravated assault, domestic violence and four counts of false imprisonment. The victim also told detectives about the July 2024 incident, and they tacked on charges of robbery and domestic violence, records show.

Wilkins paid the $60,000 bond to get out of jail, but a judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest on Aug. 20, 2024, after he failed to show up for a court appearance in another case, records show. He was arrested after the stabbing and has been in the Shelby County Jail ever since. Prosecutors say he has previous convictions for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, aggravated robbery and burglary. Wilkins is on probation, according to the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

The Financial Times cited “three people familiar with the matter” in making their reporting, all anonymous.
