A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from New York to Tel Aviv was evacuated shortly after landing in Israel on Tuesday morning following a reported bomb threat, according to local media.

The aircraft was moved to an isolated runway while security teams conducted inspections, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Early assessments indicated that the threat was likely a false alarm, the newspaper said.

Passengers were taken off the plane and escorted to the terminal. Authorities said there was no immediate threat to the public.

Officials had not yet formally closed the incident as investigations remained under way.

Delta restored its New York–Tel Aviv service in September after suspending the route for more than six months following the outbreak of the war with Iran.

Security authorities have remained on heightened alert since an attempted hijacking last month involving a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

According to the UAE attorney general, the Omani co-pilot planned to seize the aircraft and crash it into a terminal at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport in a suicide attack on September 30. The captain managed to stop him.

UAE public prosecutors believe the alleged plan was influenced by the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, according to findings from a criminal investigation launched on October 1.

The investigation found that the suspect had previously taken two flights to Tel Aviv to “familiarise himself with the flight route and the airport,” state news agency WAM reported.

It marked the first public confirmation that prosecutors believed the co-pilot had drawn inspiration from the September 11 attacks.

The aircraft was flying through Saudi airspace when the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain with a crash axe, equipment normally stored in the cockpit for emergencies.

The attack sent the plane plunging 16,000 feet, or about 4,900 metres, in just 30 seconds. The suspect was eventually subdued, allowing two other pilots aboard to land the aircraft safely in Saudi Arabia.

The suspect was later transferred to the United Arab Emirates, Flydubai’s home country.

A statement from Attorney General Hamad Saif al Shamsi did not suggest that Flydubai had committed any wrongdoing. It provided prosecutors’ most detailed account so far of the events.

Investigators reviewed Flydubai’s recruitment process and determined that the suspect had satisfied the airline’s professional and security standards. He held a pilot’s licence and had submitted a certificate confirming his good conduct.

“However, none of the procedures revealed any indications of his extremist views or his intention to carry out a terrorist plot,” Al Shamsi said.

He said the 29-year-old ​had worked for airlines ⁠in different countries including Oman Air before joining Flydubai in January 2026. 

The investigation found there were signs of the suspect drifting towards ‘extremism and terrorism’ as early as 2017, ​while he was studying in Australia.

Royal Air Maroc has said that he underwent ​three months of training ⁠there in 2025, but that his application to work for the airline afterwards was rejected.

UAE officials have not identified the suspect; however, a person with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters he had been identified as Hammam al-Hammami, an ⁠Omani ​national.

Al Shamsi said the suspect had told investigators he had prepared ​psychologically and physically for the attack by viewing material promoting terrorism and taking boxing lessons.

Saudi Arabia has launched a separate safety investigation into flight ​FZ1073, sources told Reuters.

Before his unexpected death on Monday at the age of 34, RJ Mitte made a striking revelation about how much he earned from Breaking Bad.

Mitte was best known for playing Walter White Jr., the onscreen son of Bryan Cranston’s character, across 56 episodes of the acclaimed series.

Twelve years after the show’s five-season run ended in 2013, the actor said he had “paid more in taxes than [he] got from Breaking Bad.”

He made the revelation in early November 2025, less than a year before his tragic death at 34 on Monday.

A county official confirmed to TMZ that Mitte died in Brownsville, Texas. The publication also reported that he had allegedly died by suicide.

The comments resurfaced after his death from an interview filmed and released 11 months earlier for the financial podcast The Iced Coffee Hour.

Mitte, who had mild cerebral palsy and advocated publicly for disability rights, recalled securing his first major role on Breaking Bad and working on the series as a teenager.

Although the AMC drama became a mainstream success and a cultural phenomenon after gaining a wider audience on Netflix, he said he was “not even [close]” to becoming a millionaire.

Discussing his compensation, Mitte said he had “paid more in taxes” than he earned from the show. He also said he received no residuals after the series became a major streaming success.

The actor noted that he had a Coogan Account, a trust designed to safeguard a child performer’s earnings. Under the arrangement, 15 percent of a minor’s income is set aside until they reach the age of majority.

At one stage, Mitte said, he was effectively “paying to keep my career going,” as he explained in the resurfaced interview.

“Just the name of the game with it, you know,” he said. “I was paying to keep pushing forward and to keep doing that … and everything went back into the business.”

He shook his head when asked whether starring in the show had ultimately produced a profit or left him with any “excess” money after his bills were paid.

Asked whether he understood the cultural impact Breaking Bad would have when he joined the cast, Mitte said he did. He also praised the people he worked with, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

“You know, we knew we had something special,” he said. Mitte added that he “[recommends] to people all the time [to] read the pilot” because, in his opinion, it is “one of the best written episodes.”

He said he was paid the “minimum” and described the role as his “first speaking job ever.”

‘Breaking Bad was not, like, very lucrative as far as like across the board,’ Mitte shared. 

‘Every season we were told that we were canceled. We just did not have the viewership until streaming,’ he continued.

‘You know that was our big moment, when streaming came in and people binge-viewed Breaking Bad,’ he added. ‘But up until that point, it was a struggle every year. It wasn’t much.’

When the cohosts of the podcast asked him about rumors online that claimed he was worth $3 to $5 million, he denied the speculation.

‘I think it’s what I’ve earned in my entire life,’ he said. 

Mitte also shared in the interview: ‘One thing that did put a damper on me, I did have a bad business manager.’

On Monday, representatives for the beloved actor confirmed he had died, saying in a statement: ‘It is with profound sadness we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte. 

‘RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter “Flynn” White Jr. on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad,’ the statement continued.

‘Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion. 

‘Beyond entertaining friends and family around the world, he served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s.’

Prince William is widely understood to share a particularly warm relationship with his in-laws, enjoying a close bond with both of Kate Middleton’s parents.

Royal biographer Robert Jobson has now offered a deeper insight into the future King’s relationship with his mother-in-law, Carole Middleton, 71. Their connection reportedly grew even stronger as Carole supported William during Kate’s cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, the journalist said Carole would sometimes take her son-in-law to the pub, where the pair could sit together and talk. For William, it offered a welcome escape during what he later described as an exceptionally “brutal” period.

“[Carole] was there to support William and was there all the time for the grandchildren. She’s been as solid as a rock,” Robert said.

“When everything was falling apart and he needed someone to talk to, she was the one. She took him out to the pub and they would sit and talk. She’s been a good sounding-board, a wise head.”

Although the easy rapport between William and Carole has long been noted, their genuine affection became especially visible when they attended Royal Ascot together in 2024.

During the event, Carole’s heel became caught in the grass. William immediately stepped in to help his “second mum” regain her balance, after which they continued chatting and laughing with fellow guests.

The spontaneous exchange, captured in a series of photographs, offered a touching glimpse of the close relationship Prince William has built with the Middleton family, particularly its matriarch.

The appearance marked Carole’s first public outing after news of her daughter Kate’s cancer diagnosis. She attended Royal Ascot alongside her husband, Michael Middleton.

William is believed to have embraced the Middleton family soon after beginning his relationship with Kate in the early 2000s. Today, Carole is considered an important part of the close-knit family life shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Carole is even known to prepare some of William’s favourite treats, including cheese on toast, while keeping a supply of the sea-salt chocolates he enjoys.

In her 2022 book The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – the Truth and the Turmoil, royal commentator Tina Brown wrote that William had effectively “adopted” the Middleton family after only a year of dating Kate.

One acquaintance told Brown: “Not only did he fall for her but them. A warm nest with a complete nuclear family and seemingly wonderfully uncomplicated.

“The dad played the dad, the mum the county’s tiger mum, but he also saw the daughters and James getting along – and wanting to get along – with their parents. What a contrast.”

Despite having access to royal residences across the country, William reportedly preferred spending weekends at the Middleton home, enjoying “tennis, TV and Carole’s creature comforts at the Middleton manse”, according to Brown.

His affection for the family was also apparent in 2011, when he chose to spend Christmas at the Middletons’ home in Bucklebury, West Berkshire, instead of celebrating with the wider Royal Family.

William became such a familiar visitor at the Middleton family home that he moved his quad bike there from Highgrove.

He also joined the family on holidays, including trips to Mustique, the Caribbean island that was once a favourite destination of Princess Margaret.

And his closeness to Carole was evidenced by the fact that she joined Kate when she made her first official public appearance at William’s passing-out parade at Sandhurst in December 2006.

After Kate’s cancer diagnosis, it was the continued support of Carole and Michael that allowed William to continue undertaking some royal duties. 

In April 2024, William was spotted at a Norfolk pub with his mother-in-law. It was another sign of how close they are. 

During the Easter school holidays that year, Carole stayed with the Wales’, according to the Mail’s Richard Eden.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, previously said: ‘Carole and Michael are just as much family to William as they are to Catherine.

‘He loves Carole being around to help as she has been with the children from the beginning and it is easy and reassuring having her invaluable help. Both with the children and keeping Catherine’s spirits up. She is a strong woman!’

Carole and Michael have also formed a very tight bond with their grandchildren.

They were the first members of the family to visit Prince George when he was born in 2013 and have been a constant presence in his life ever since.  

A month after the young royal’s birth, Michael volunteered to take the first picture of his new grandson so that William and Kate would not have to bring in an external photographer.

In 2014, Carole joined William and Kate on their tour of Australia and New Zealand so she could help look after George alongside the couple’s nanny, Maria Borrallo.  

The Middletons’ support has no doubt meant so much to the Prince of Wales that he may ‘rewrite the fabric of the monarchy’ to give Kate’s parents a greater role, royal experts claimed earlier this year. 

The Daily Mail’s Sarah Vine said: ‘In the 21st century, royalty is about how you behave. It’s not a given. And if the royal family is anything in this day and age, it’s to set an example. 

‘It’s to uphold certain standards… It means that a door is open to other people becoming royal through their behaviour.’

To make Carole and Michael working royals, William would have to ‘completely rewrite the entire fabric of the monarchy’, said Newsweek’s chief royal correspondent, Jack Royston.

‘But the guy does say he wants change. Anything is possible,’ he added on Channel 5’s The Middletons: Should They Be Working Royals?.

One of the most telling clues about the Middletons’ importance in Kate and William’s family life came from their daughter’s emotional video message about her cancer journey in 2024.

Kate announced she had completed chemotherapy treatment in a three-minute-long clip that was unprecedented for the Royal Family. Footage showed William and Kate spending quality time in Norfolk with their three children, and Carole and Michael. 

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis could be seen cuddling their grandparents and playing card games around the dinner table, but no other family members appeared in the clip. 

‘It just goes to show the influence that that family has on William, and how much he loves and respects them, that he doesn’t want them to be out of the loop in his family unit,’ said Jo Elvin, former host of Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential, in the documentary. 

“Breaking Bad” actor RJ Mitte revisited his defining role as Walter White Jr. in what became his final interview, recorded two weeks before his death by suicide at age 34.

Mitte, who died Monday in Texas, appeared on The Joe Vulpis Podcast on October 5. During the conversation, he recalled working with Bryan Cranston, 70, on the acclaimed series, explained why watching his own performances could make him “spiral” and offered his view of where Walter Jr. and the White family might be today.

“Breaking Bad” ran for five seasons and followed Walter White, played by Cranston, a high school chemistry teacher who begins producing methamphetamine after receiving a cancer diagnosis.

Mitte portrayed Walter’s teenage son, a character with cerebral palsy. The actor also lived with the condition in real life.

Looking back on the series, Mitte said the most challenging sequence he filmed was a pivotal phone conversation with his fictional father.

“I really think for me one of the most complicated scenes that I’ve had to do was that final phone call… It’s the last time he talks to him. In reality, I didn’t understand it as much as I do now,” he said.

“But I still had a lot of pressure and felt a lot of pressure in trying to make sure that was right. And where it set, and the tones, and the confusion, and the different levels of that,” Mitte continued.

He explained that Walter Jr. was learning about his father’s criminal identity through rumors at school and from others around him: “He’s now hearing this in his school. He’s hearing it from people. He’s been stained by this reputation of Heisenberg. And it’s like, I don’t know who Heisenberg is. Wait, that’s my dad. That’s my father, and he killed my uncle. Like he’s a murderer.”

“And so that realization for him was something that I really wanted to make sure that I met those criteria,” Mitte said. “And you know, listening to the directors, listening to Vince [Gilligan], and really Bryan [Cranston] was there that day as well.”

“He was in the room when we did that scene. So really kind of figuring out how to do that scene justice,” he added.

Mitte also admitted that he avoided watching himself on screen because even small mistakes could trigger an intense cycle of self-criticism.

“I find for me it doesn’t help me. I dwell in it. I’m someone that when I mess up or like something happens, I dwell and I spiral. Where it’s like, what could I have done differently? How could I have done that differently?” he said.

He revealed that he had watched only the first episode of each season, along with the final episode of the show’s last season.

Vulpis also asked Mitte to imagine what Walter Jr. and the rest of Walter White’s family might be doing in the present day.

“I don’t think it’s a good place,” Mitte replied. “I really don’t see Skyler, Walt Jr. and Holly are in the best position now. I would like to think what everyone wants: Walt Jr. got the money and Walt Jr. is following in the footsteps and all these things.”

‘In reality, I see it more like a sadness and a despair, and that they don’t get the money. Because you know when DEA comes in, especially to a man like Walter White, like Heisenberg, who isn’t just some small nobody but a global distributor destroying millions of lives, they don’t just let the family go. They don’t just go, “Okay, well he’s dead, or he’s gone. Y’all have a great life now.”‘

‘It’s like, no, you’re under lock and key. They’re watching you. They’re making sure that none of his aliases come back.’

He said his audition for Breaking Bad was ‘one of the longest auditions of my life’ adding that it lasted ‘over six months.’ 

Mitte also said that playing Walt Jr was ‘unbelievable’ and that the role was ‘truly a life-changing.’ 

‘You know, back then we really didn’t realize how impactful the show was going to be. And you know, I spent my teenage life in Breaking Bad.’ 

Elsewhere in the interview, Mitte said that he believed that wasn’t the end of the story for his character and White’s family: ‘I don’t think it was the end. That was really the end of Heisenberg’s journey but I don’t think that was the end of Skyler, Walt, and Holly’s journey.’

‘I think there’s a lot of unanswered questions there that for them, will probably never be answered. And so I think there’s still a big step for the White family.’

‘There’s more to be told,’ the interviewer said.

‘There’s always more to be told,’ he added. ‘But you got to tell it right!’ he said. ‘Again, if something happens in the future with the show… the fans control that, really, truly, like, the fans control what continues to get made.’

‘I think it’d go right to the top,’ the interviewer said. ‘Top of Netflix, top of wherever it’s streaming.’

‘I want to top Breaking Bad,’ he said. ‘That’s the hardest… I set a bar for myself as a young man that is kind of unobtainable. And I tell people, I say, look, it’s a long way down from the top of the mountain.’

He also gave advice to other aspiring young actors, stating: ‘Make sure you like it, because in this industry, everyone sees the final product. Everyone sees the final like, “oh it’s amazing.” But like no one realizes how strenuous it is and how much actually goes into it, and the long hours, and especially when you’re not doing anything.’ 

Vulpis told TMZ on Monday that he was stunned to learn about Mitte’s death, as he was making plans for the future when he last saw him to film the podcast two weeks prior.

He described the actor as ‘so positive’ and ‘one of the most kind and genuine people [he] got to speak with.’

‘His passing is super surprising because he was so grounded and down to earth,’ he added.

Vulpis said the two spent more time together after filming the podcast and that Mitte talked about what was coming next and was focused on his charitable efforts and future projects. He told the podcast host that he had just signed on for another film and was promoting his project Talking to Strangers.

A county official confirmed to TMZ that Mitte died on Monday in Texas – and that a death investigation is ongoing. The publication reported that Mitte died by suicide.  

Mitte appeared in 56 episodes of Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013 and had also appeared in The Recall and The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You.).

He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy aged three and advocated for actors and those working in the entertainment industry with disabilities.

His representative told the publication: ‘It is with profound sadness we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte.

‘RJ Mitte was best known for his role as Walter ‘Flynn’ White Jr. on AMC’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series Breaking Bad.’

‘Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion. Beyond entertaining friends and family around the world, he served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Mitte and the Brownsville Police Department for further comment.

Emmy-winning Breaking Bad – which also starred Aaron Paul as White’s former inept student turned collaborator Jesse Pinkman – ran from 2008 to 2013 and garnered widespread acclaim from both fans and critics around the world.

Mitte’s shock death comes a year after the actor got engaged to his girlfriend Kennedy Suarez on her 30th birthday.

‘I’m thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we’re doing,’ Mitte told People.

He gushed: ‘Kennedy is my everything and I can’t wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next.’

Mitte proposed at the 56th annual Dia del Sol 2025 benefit in Carlsbad, California. The fundraising event benefitted United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of San Diego, for which he is an ambassador.

Following the engagement, Suarez took to Instagram to write: ‘My 30th felt like a fairytale…. I have the man of my dreams by my side & we are doing what we love most — helping others.’

The pair lived in Brownsville, Texas, and the actor was president of The Mitte Foundation, his family’s Austin-based charity.

The Foundation rejuvenates and funds South Texas-based marginalized communities.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of disorders affecting movement, posture and balance due to abnormal brain development or damage.

Symptoms range from muscle stiffness and poor motor control to difficulties with balance and coordination.

During his life, Mitte called for larger representation of disabled actors on television and said he ‘utilized everything’ he knew about his disability for Breaking Bad.

‘I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today without my disability,’ he told the Irish Examiner in 2016. ‘I utilized everything I know about living with cerebral palsy for my role in Breaking Bad.’

‘We know lots of progress is being made but the industry must do more to help disabled people work both in front of and behind the camera,’ he said. ‘During the Paralympics there will be more disabled people than ever before on TV but this shouldn’t be something that just happens every four years.’

‘I would love to switch on my TV and see a disabled person talking about something they are genuinely interested in or acting out a part that doesn’t just focus on their impairment.’

In 2019, five years after Breaking Bad, Mitte admitted he still missed being a part of the show’s cast.

‘That’s going to follow me ’til the day I die,’ he told The Sydney Morning Herald as he reflected on his time on the hit AMC series.

The role took Mitte’s career to a whole new level and ‘opened a lot of doors’ for him.

‘Breaking Bad put me on the map,’ he told The Independent in 2021. ‘You’re only talking to me today because of it. None of my projects would exist without that show and the opportunity it gave me. It really opened a lot of doors for me. I wouldn’t have the media profile and the following that I have today without Walter White Jr. I would just be some kid who lives in Texas.’

Mitte hails from Mississippi and was six years old when he found out he was adopted.

‘I was about six when I was told that I was adopted.,’ he told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2019. ‘My stepbrother heard my mom and my then-stepdad talking and said to me, “You are adopted. They don’t love you.” I didn’t believe him but my parents confirmed that I was. I was like, “Okay.”’

‘I’ve never felt the need to track my birth mother,’ he said. ‘Medically, I’d like to know my family history, but until I feel that need, I have enough family and friends. I don’t need any more.’

Mitte’s mother chose to adopt him as she believed she would be unable to have her own children due to an ovarian cancer diagnosis.

‘The reason Mom adopted me was because she’d had ovarian cancer and was told she couldn’t have children. Then, magically, 11 years later, my sister Lacianne came along.’
