Probation Violator Arrested for Chilling Threats Against Ex-Girlfriend and Her Children

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a disturbing turn of events, 32-year-old Nathail Eugene Harrington Jr. from Hawthorne found himself under arrest following accusations of stalking and making death threats against a former girlfriend and her children, according to police reports.
Allegations surfaced when the woman, whose name has not been disclosed, contacted the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department. She described receiving a barrage of calls and texts from Harrington on August 10, despite their recent breakup. The messages, charged with disturbing emotions, allegedly suggested he was unwilling to let go. Alarmingly, he threatened to murder her, her children, and himself if she maintained the breakup. Even more chilling, he purportedly threatened to broadcast these acts live on Facebook.
The woman, sensing the gravity of the threat, began to record their calls. From these recordings, a deputy noted Harrington’s voice saying ominously, “If I can’t have you, I don’t want nobody, and you ain’t gonna have nobody. Imma do it, bruh, then imma do it to myself,” reinforcing the seriousness of his threats.
Given their intimate history, Harrington knew where she lived and her daily routine. On the early morning of August 11, at roughly 3:15 a.m., the victim noticed Harrington lurking near her apartment. Disturbed by his presence on the sidewalk, she immediately called law enforcement, but he vanished from sight before deputies could arrive.
The victim told a deputy that she received over 200 missed phone calls from Harrington over 12 hours, and at one point, he threatened to “stay watching your house.” Referring to his threats to harm the victim, he allegedly wrote, “I have to do it.” The victim believed that Harrington had both the will and capability to kill her and her children.
Harrington, a designated violent felony offender of special concern, has been charged with aggravated stalking. He has 11 felony convictions (three violent) and nine misdemeanor convictions (non-violent), and he has served six state prison sentences, with his most recent release in April 2026. He was arrested in March 2025 for backing a stolen car into a patrol vehicle and then fleeing from deputies and is still on drug offender probation in that case after serving a 15-month prison sentence.
Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Luigi Mangione Set to Plead Guilty in Federal Case: Implications and Repercussions Explored
Luigi Mangione, accused of killing a health insurance executive in Manhattan, is reportedly poised to admit guilt in a federal stalking charge, as per a report by the New York Times on Thursday.
A guilty plea could sidestep a widely followed trial concerning the death of UnitedHealth Group CEO Brian Thompson—a shocking incident decried by public authorities but also a reflection of the widespread discontent against health insurance practices in America. This plea may also postpone Mangione’s upcoming trial for state murder charges set for next month.
Neither Mangione’s representatives nor the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office have provided comments on the matter.
Ahead of his federal court appearance on Friday, called for by both his defense team and prosecutors—who have not specified the reason—a guilty plea remains uncertain as Mangione retains the option to alter his decision even during the hearing. The New York Times mentioned the lack of clarity on the specific charges Mangione might accept responsibility for, noting the ongoing nature of negotiation talks could lead to fluctuations in the deal’s details.
Back in April 2025, Mangione professed his innocence to murder, weapons, and stalking charges imposed by federal authorities in Manhattan.
US District Judge Margaret Garnett threw out the murder and weapons charges over legal technicalities in a surprise ruling in January. The decision eliminated the possibility that Mangione would face the death penalty, though he still faces a possible sentence of life without parole if convicted on the remaining stalking charges.
His federal trial was most recently set for January.
Mangione separately pleaded not guilty in December 2024 to state terrorism, murder, weapons and forgery charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The terrorism charges were thrown out by a judge in September 2025.
A trial in that case is scheduled for September 8 before Justice Gregory Carro in Manhattan.
If he pleads guilty in the federal case, Mangione is likely to seek dismissal of the murder charge under New York’s double jeopardy law, which protects people from being prosecuted twice for the same conduct. Bragg’s office would oppose the move, arguing that the murder charge is legally distinct from the federal charges. Whoever loses would likely seek an emergency appeal.

The victim suspected the employee of stealing money from her real estate business, she told investigators.
The warrant says text messages between this fired employee and Barias-Florimon revealed his alleged enraged reaction to the firing; it is unclear what the nature of the relationship between the pair was.
CT Insider reported the fired employee texted Barias-Florimon that her boss is “going to make my life hell,” the woman texted.
Barias-Florimon responded and said “I’ll make her life hell,” the warrant said.
More texts reveal he also allegedly texted the woman, “[just] say the word” and “[I’ll] **** her lifee OVERRRRRR,” the warrant said.
As for the other suspect, Lopez-Reyes, the victim reportedly told investigators that she was fearful of him and was able to identify him as the other suspect seen inside the home, as captured on video surveillance, according to the warrant.
Both suspects are facing charges including murder and assault on an elderly person in connection with the incident. Both await upcoming court appearances as they sit in jail.
DHS previously confirmed to News Media that the agency is seeking to revoke the green cards of the two suspects.
Jury Chosen for Trial of Ex-Gang Leader Charged with Orchestrating Tupac Shakur’s Murder
LAS VEGAS — A group of six men and ten women were chosen on Thursday to deliberate over the case of a former gang leader accused of orchestrating the murder of Tupac Shakur nearly three decades ago, a case that remains a defining moment in hip-hop history.
The murder trial, set in Las Vegas, is expected to begin with opening statements on Monday.
For years, the family and fans of the iconic rapper have awaited answers about the tragic 1996 drive-by shooting that claimed Shakur’s life while he was at the zenith of his career.
At just 25, Shakur was gunned down near the bustling Las Vegas Strip during a turbulent period marked by heated rivalries in a music industry heavily influenced by gang tensions.
Three years ago, authorities charged Duane “Keffe D” Davis with murder, labeling him as the mastermind behind the assassination. Davis, who has denied the charges, faces a potential life sentence if convicted.
Sixteen jurors were picked for the trial, which is expected to last about a month. During the selection process, potential jurors were asked about their favorite books and movies, if they had any strong feelings about gangs, and whether they had listened to Shakur’s music.
Shakur still is considered one of the most influential rappers of all time. With hits like “California Love” and “Dear Mama,” more than 75 million of his records have been sold worldwide, including seven albums released after his death.
He was in the passenger seat of a BMW driven by Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight on Sept. 7, 1996, when shots were fired from a Cadillac at a red light. Knight survived but Shakur died six days later.
Prosecutors have not accused Davis, now 63, of pulling the trigger that night, instead saying that he made the calls that led to Shakur’s death and provided the gun.
In Nevada, a person can be convicted of murder for helping another person commit the crime.
Davis is the only person still alive who was in the car where prosecutors said the fatal shots originated.
The case against Davis was revived when Davis published the book “Compton Street Legend,” about the shooting and his time in the Crips, in 2019 as well as his statements during police and media interviews.
Davis’ attorneys unsuccessfully fought to block from the trial details written in the book and said during a 2008 police interview. They argued the book was fictionalized and had a co-author, making it impossible to know which parts Davis wrote.
They also argued Davis’ previous interview with a federal task force was supposed to be confidential and not used against him.
Among those who could be called to testify in the trial is Knight, the rap music mogul whose label represented Shakur. He continually has said that he wants no part in the trial.
Knight, who is serving a 28-year sentence for running over and killing a Compton businessman in 2015, is the only surviving person who was in the car with Shakur at the time of the shooting.
Prosecutors expect to call between 35 and 45 witnesses, ranging from people who saw Shakur moments before he was shot to those who were associates of both Shakur and Davis at the time. Sean “Diddy” Combs, who Davis claimed wanted Shakur and Knight dead, will not be one of those witnesses, attorneys said.
