Parents Allegedly Confined Child in Playpen for 20 Hours, Police Say

Two Oklahoma parents allegedly confined one child in a wooden box and another in a playpen for extended periods, while failing to provide proper food, bathing or basic care, authorities said.

Sara Tudor, 46, and Michael Brown, 43, each face three counts of child neglect, according to the District 21 District Attorney’s Office in Oklahoma, which announced the charges. Both were booked into the Garvin County Jail.

The investigation began July 27, when a Garvin County schoolteacher contacted the Oklahoma Department of Human Services about three children, ages 9, 8 and 4. The teacher told officials she “was concerned for their well-being,” according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

The District Attorney’s Office was notified, and on July 31 requested that the OSBI investigate the children’s circumstances.

OSBI agents subsequently identified Tudor and Brown as the children’s parents and began examining the allegations.

Human Services officials “learned that one of the children was confined to a wooden box and the other was confined to a playpen for at least 20 hours,” authorities said. Officials also reported that the children were not properly fed and did not receive showers or baths.

The children were later removed from the home and placed with foster families. After undergoing medical evaluations, professionals determined that “each suffered from psychological abuse due to confinement and infantilization.”

Authorities also said the children experienced abuse linked to inadequate physical care and hazardous living conditions.

Tudor and Brown were arrested Oct. 8. It was not immediately clear when they would appear in court.

Garvin County is in south-central Oklahoma, roughly 60 miles south of Oklahoma City.

Cameras in a Delaware neighborhood captured at least two masked men knocking on homes late Friday night, including one who appeared to be carrying a rifle, according to police.

Images released by the New Castle County Police Department show one man wearing a tactical-style vest and holding what appears to be a rifle as he approached a home’s front door.

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Canvasback Drive in the Mallard Pointe neighborhood of New Castle at about 10:50 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a suspicious person, police said.

Residents told investigators that a man wearing a black hockey-style mask and tactical-style vest had approached several homes while carrying an object that appeared to be a rifle.

The man allegedly knocked on the doors and then ran away, authorities said.

Police said four men were later seen traveling east on Mallard Road. Two were riding bicycles, while the other two were on foot.

Officers searched the neighborhood and nearby properties with help from a K-9 unit but were unable to find the individuals.

Police have not determined whether the weapons were real firearms. However, investigators believe they may have been airsoft-style guns.

A California bride-to-be whose romantic proposal was disrupted by a woman’s racist outburst has received an unexpected gesture of kindness from a local bridal boutique owner.

Hayley Lugo was given a wedding gown by Lisa Clark, owner of Saint Clark Bridal Suite in Monrovia, after Clark saw the viral footage of Lugo’s proposal at Laguna Beach.

The video shows a woman confronting Lugo and her fiancé, Emmanuel Banuelos, as a mariachi band performed at Crescent Bay Point Park on October 2. During the interruption, the woman shouted, “Go back to Mexico.”

“I feel very blessed to be receiving the gown, and there are still a lot of kind people out there willing to help us despite what happened,” Lugo told CBS News.

The confrontation was recorded through Meta glasses worn by Trinity Lugo, Hayley’s sister, who was standing nearby as the proposal unfolded.

The woman initially objected to the engagement setup, claiming the park was intended for local residents to enjoy picnics and that events were not permitted on the grass.

Trinity Lugo calmly explained that the couple and the production crew would soon leave after the proposal. The woman, however, continued her tirade and threatened to involve police.

“I just called the police. They’re coming out here. They’re going to make you tear it down,” the woman said.

“It made me feel so sad that people still have so much hate and racism in them. When I saw it and heard it, my heart sank. It just left me distraught,” Lugo told the Los Angeles Times.

A spokesperson for the city of Laguna Beach said officials were aware of the viral video and emphasized that the city does not condone hateful language or conduct.

“Laguna Beach’s parks and beaches are open to everyone and are regularly the backdrop to celebrate milestones,” the spokesperson said.

Lugo has since discussed the emotional impact of the confrontation, while Banuelos called the incident deeply offensive.

“It hurts a lot because it’s not just us there. She’s being mean to the whole Mexican culture, the whole Hispanic culture, like everyone’s felt it,” Lugo told ABC 7.

The co-pilot accused of trying to hijack and crash an Israel-bound passenger plane began moving towards extremism while studying in Melbourne nearly a decade ago, according to the United Arab Emirates’ top prosecutor.

UAE Attorney-General Hamad Saif al Shamsi said Hamam al-Hammami provided a “detailed confession” after being arrested over the September 30 terror plot.

According to al Shamsi, al-Hammami came into contact with people linked to an Islamic centre during his time in Melbourne.

“The findings indicated that signs of his drift towards extremism and terrorism first emerged in 2017, while he was studying in Australia,” al Shamsi said.

“During that period, he was influenced by Takfiri ideology through reading extremist literature and following online content glorifying terrorist organisations and suicide attacks.

“This influence subsequently developed into the adoption of ideas advocating violence and terrorism.

“He also drew inspiration from the 11 September 2001 attacks, and the idea of carrying out a similar operation using an aircraft became firmly established in his thinking.”

Takfir refers to one Muslim declaring another a non-believer. The extremist doctrine has at times been used to justify violence.

The Emirates News Agency reported that al-Hammami admitted regularly attending a mosque affiliated with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

“Through these visits, he became acquainted with individuals associated with a centre known as ‘My Centre’,” the agency said on Saturday.

“He also said that he had prepared himself both psychologically and physically to carry out the plot by intensifying his exposure to material promoting terrorism and training in boxing under a private coach.”

Daily Mail has contacted My Centre for comment.

Al-Hammami allegedly planned to crash Flydubai flight 1073 into a terminal at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport.

He allegedly used an onboard crash axe to wound captain Smit Machchhar as he attempted to seize control of the aircraft during its flight to Tel Aviv.

Passengers and crew fought with the Omani national to regain control of the plane, which plunged 14,000ft in just 29 seconds.

Mr Machchhar was praised for saving the lives of the 172 passengers on board. While the aircraft was cruising, the captain confronted his co-pilot in the cockpit and stopped him from sabotaging the plane’s systems.

Distressing footage showed Mr Machchhar lying bloodied on the floor as passengers treated his injuries. Another pilot appeared to be lying nearby, seemingly unconscious.

Passengers can be heard telling one of the men: ‘You saved the plane.’ 

Al Shamsi said investigations had revealed al-Hammami used two previous flights to Tel Aviv to ‘familiarise himself with the flight route and the airport’.

The alleged hijacker attempted to take control of the plane ‘with the intention of causing the greatest possible number of human casualties’.

Al-Hammami ‘admitted that he had acted alone, without the involvement of others,’ Al Shamsi said, adding he ‘provided a detailed confession outlining his motives and the stages of planning and execution’ in the presence of his lawyer.

Investigators examined Flydubai’s recruiting procedures and found al-Hammami had met all professional and security requirements, including holding a pilot’s licence and providing a certificate of good conduct.

‘However, none of the procedures revealed any indications of his extremist views or his intention to carry out a terrorist plot,’ Al Shamsi said.

Al Shamsi said the suspect had told investigators he had prepared psychologically and physically for the attack by viewing material promoting terrorism and taking boxing lessons.

The co-pilot had previously worked with Oman’s national airline as a trainee in 2024 but was removed from flying because of concerns that he may have been influenced by radical groups. He was then moved to an administrative job at Oman Air.

Al Hammami was later hired by UAE-based airline Flydubai in January this year, but it was not immediately clear to what extent the co-pilot was vetted.

Royal Air Maroc confirmed that Al Hammami had undergone three months’ training with the airline in 2025, but his application to work there afterwards was rejected.

Al Hammami was born in the UAE, and his mother is Syrian. He obtained Omani nationality from his father.

As a mother of two, Williams took an active role in shaping the doll’s design. She wanted its appearance to reflect her own features, including her skin tone and natural hair texture.

“It was really important for me to have the right skin tone,” she explained. “It was really important for me also for them to have the right hair. I’ve recently gone more blonde and I wanted it to be a little bit lighter than when I actually wore that outfit—so I wanted to stick that modern element into it. It was also really important for me to have a really curly hair texture, nothing straight.”

In a statement released Thursday, Williams described the message she hopes girls will find in a Barbie created in her image.

“Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me being told there was no limit to who they could become. I want every girl who plays with this doll to see possibility—not just in me, but in herself. Fugitive Brian Anthony Williams was discovered living in San Diego under the name “Troy Williams,” where he worked as a chef and appeared in news interviews.

SAN DIEGO — A man wanted in Iowa was arrested after 14 years when federal authorities located him working as a chef in San Diego under an assumed identity.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested 50-year-old Brian Anthony Williams on Tuesday at the Mission Beach restaurant where he worked. Authorities allege that Williams and several others kidnapped, assaulted and shot a woman in Davenport, Iowa, in 2012.

The U.S. Marshals Service said law enforcement learned in September 2026 that Williams was living in San Diego as “Troy Williams.” He had been working as a chef and appearing under that name in local publications and on television.

Williams was charged in October 2012 with first-degree kidnapping, assault causing serious injury, conspiracy to commit a felony and first-degree arson. The following year, prosecutors also charged him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

According to authorities, Williams and a woman were bound with duct tape and abducted from their home in Davenport. The woman later told deputies that she and Williams were taken to a field, where they were assaulted and shot at before being abandoned in a ditch.

The victim told police she believed the suspects had taken Williams with them when they left her behind. Officers found Williams a short time later with duct tape still on him, but he did not appear to be injured. Investigators ultimately determined that Williams had allegedly conspired with three other men to stage the abduction because he wanted to end his relationship with the woman.

Police also alleged that Williams and the three other suspects went to the home of the victim’s new boyfriend, poured several gallons of gasoline around the property and set it ablaze. All five people inside escaped without injuries.

In February, Beach & Bay Press featured Williams under his assumed name in a Black History Month article. In the story, he said he grew up in New York City public housing “during the crack epidemic” and was largely raised by his aunt after his mother died when he was young. The article prominently displayed his photograph and identified the San Diego restaurant where he worked as a chef.

Williams will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service while he awaits extradition to Iowa, the agency said.

In August 2013, a jury convicted one of the other alleged conspirators, Jeremy Garvin, of kidnapping, arson, willful injury and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony.

The 33-year-old groom chose a timeless black suit with a white shirt for the occasion.

Chad made a tentative return to the public eye earlier this week after stepping away from the spotlight following his daughter’s death by suicide.

The actor returned to Instagram on Wednesday by reposting an Instagram Stories video featuring Irish writer Gerry Hussey.

His post came just days after his brother Rob Lowe’s son shared a poem honoring Fiona.

The excerpt, taken from a longer appearance on Olivia Hunt’s On Healing podcast, showed Hussey reflecting on the nature of the soul after death.

‘It is a frequency. It’s an energy field. And we possess it all the time within ourselves. We are all part of the frequency,’ Hussey said. ‘We all possess direct access to that.

The actor took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend and posted Emily Dickinson’s poem Hope Is the Thing With Feathers.

‘Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all,’ the poem reads.

‘And sweetest in the gale is heard; and sore must be the storm that could abash the little bird that kept so many warm,’ it goes on.

‘I’ve heard it in the chillest land, and on the strangest sea; yet, never, in extremity, it asked a crumb of me.’

Fiona was the middle daughter of Chad, 58, and his wife Kim Painter, 52. The couple also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

Emergency services responded to the family home at 12.10am on Tuesday, September 29, and the teen was transported to an area hospital, where the Medical Examiner said she was pronounced dead at 1.14am. 

In a statement to People, Lowe and his casting director wife remembered Fiona as ‘a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.’

‘We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona.

‘She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.

‘Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.’

They directed anyone struggling with mental health to reach out to the suicide prevention helpline: ‘If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide + Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.’

Trump Says He’d Love to See Sen. John Fetterman Join GOP

President Donald Trump called Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., a “great guy” on Saturday and said he would welcome the Pennsylvania Democrat into the Republican Party.

A reporter asked Trump, after he stepped off Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews, whether he had discussed a potential party switch with Fetterman and if he would support the senator becoming a Republican. Fetterman has repeatedly diverged from Democrats on several issues during the current session of Congress.

“I’d love to see it. I think he’s great,” Trump said.

“It’s going to be hard for him to get the nomination as a Democrat, but I’d love to have him as a Republican,” he added.

Trump praised Fetterman as a “great guy” and spoke favorably of the senator’s “magnificent parents,” saying he had previously talked with them.

“He’s a very solid person,” Trump said. “He’s smart and all that, but he’s got great common sense.”

The president also indicated that he believed a party switch could improve Fetterman’s political prospects.

“If you look at the polls, he does better as a Republican than he does as a Democrat,” Trump said.

Trump’s remarks come as Fetterman has broken with his party on high-profile issues, including the Iran war and immigration. Despite those differences, the senator still votes with Democrats the overwhelming majority of the time.

Since entering the Senate in 2023, Fetterman has voted with Senate Democrats nearly 90% of the time.

That percentage has dropped to just under 81% during the current session of Congress, according to Fox News Digital’s previous reporting.

Fetterman’s occasional departures from the Democratic position have prompted renewed speculation about whether he could eventually join the Republican Party.

He has reportedly used Republican fundraising platforms to seek donations and has maintained a close friendship with Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala.

Last month, Fetterman appeared in a video introducing Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa., at the Republican Midterm Convention.

He also mistakenly described himself as a lifelong Republican during an appearance at the Texas Tribune’s TribFest last month.

An attendee asked Fetterman why he had not run for office as an independent.

“Because I’m a lifelong Republican,” Fetterman replied before recognizing his mistake. “I guarantee you that will break through. That will get clipped.”

Presley, whose sister is Kaia Gerber, died Sept. 20 in what was suspected to be an overdose at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.

Isabella is among several of Presley’s former girlfriends who have publicly honored the model following his heartbreaking death.
