Typhoon Dolphin Forces One Million to Evacuate in China: Flight Cancellations Surge

0

China’s eastern coast was battered on Sunday by the most powerful tropical cyclone to hit the country this year, bringing with it relentless rain and intense winds.

Before reaching China, Typhoon Dolphin had already caused havoc in Japan’s southern Okinawa prefecture, where it injured six individuals and led to power outages affecting over 50,000 buildings.

The typhoon made its landfall near Yuhuan in eastern Zhejiang province on Sunday evening, according to reports from China’s meteorological officials.

At the time of landfall, the storm’s maximum sustained winds reached 151 km/h near its core, categorizing it as a Category 1 hurricane under the Saffir-Simpson scale.

In preparation, authorities had evacuated offshore workers, commanded ships to return to port, and heightened inspections of reservoirs, mountain streams, and landslide-prone zones, along with construction sites and tourist areas.

One million people evacuated, others left stranded

Torrential rain is forecast through 10 August across Zhejiang, Shanghai, northern Fujian, northeastern Jiangxi, central and southern Anhui, and much of Jiangsu. Parts of central and eastern Zhejiang could receive 250-500 mm of rain, according to forecasters.

After landfall, Dolphin is forecast to track westward before slowing over central and southwestern China and gradually losing strength, Wang Haiping, chief forecaster at the National Meteorological Centre, told state broadcaster CCTV.

That could prolong heavy rain and raise the risk of flooding and landslides, especially in mountainous areas and along smaller rivers.

Transport was widely disrupted across the east of the country, and more than one million people were evacuated from their homes.

In addition to evacuating at least 30,300 people, Shanghai has cancelled about 1,500 flights, according to flight-tracking data provider VariFlight.

A 42-year-old tourist from Guangdong said he was stranded in Shanghai after his family’s flight, scheduled to depart on Sunday, was cancelled due to Typhoon Dolphin.

He said the family had been rebooked on a flight at 10pm on Monday, although they were unsure whether it would be able to take off.

“To us Guangdong people, this typhoon is as ordinary as having a meal and feeling the wind. It’s just part of everyday life,” he said, adding that the storm did not appear particularly strong by the standards of China’s southern coast.

In neighbouring Zhejiang province, the city of Wenzhou relocated more than 900,000 residents and opened more than 1,000 emergency shelters.

In Fujian province, authorities evacuated 98,900 people from high-risk areas after raising the typhoon emergency response to Level 3, according to Xinhua. Zhejiang, Shanghai and Jiangsu have also activated Level 3 emergency responses.

Fujian maritime authorities said 55 coastal passenger ferry routes had been suspended, all 115 offshore construction projects had been halted, and 290 construction vessels had been moved to sheltered waters.

The water resources ministry said the Qiantang, Yong, Jiao and Shuiyang rivers could see major flooding, while smaller rivers in the hardest-hit areas could rise above warning levels.

Authorities warned of a high risk of geological disasters in parts of Zhejiang, while residents in areas covered by a red mountain-torrent warning were told to follow local evacuation orders.

Shanghai’s Yangshan port cleared ships from its berths and moved more than 500 small and medium-sized vessels to shelter ahead of Dolphin, the city’s maritime safety administration said.

Scientists say global warming has made extreme weather more likely, including stronger typhoons.

Wildfire Explosion Forces 20,000 Canadians to Evacuate Urgently

0

In a dramatic turn of events, a ferocious wildfire described as exploding “like a bomb” has compelled tens of thousands of Canadians to flee their homes.

As the Bald Range fire wreaked havoc, aircraft were called in to rescue dozens of residents, while countless others faced gridlocked roads in a desperate bid to outrun the inferno.

Since it ignited on Friday, the blaze has scorched an area spanning at least 53 square miles across British Columbia.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire has doubled in size, now threatening the communities of Summerland, Peachland, and additional regions within the province.

In response to the escalating crisis, Premier David Eby declared a state of emergency on Saturday as the province grappled with over 100 wildfires blazing across the area.

He described the Bald Range blaze as ‘like a bomb going off in the Summerland region’ which tore across 2,000 acres in roughly an hour.

The fire created its own weather system sparking lightning strikes and sending flames up to 200 feet high.

Officials said the blaze began around 5.30pm on Friday but have yet to determine its cause.

All 12,000 residents of Summerland and another 8,000 people in and around Peachland were ordered to evacuate. The communities are about 250 miles east of Vancouver.

Eby’s office said there had been ‘significant structure loss’ but said officials had not assessed the damage because the area remained an active fire zone.

‘Conditions are extremely dangerous and changing minute by minute,’ Eby said. ‘The fires are moving incredibly quickly.’

The premier added that some residents had become trapped as the fire grew and that search-and-rescue crews continued searching for others who may have been caught in its path.

BC Forests Minister Ravi Parmar said more than 50 people were rescued by 18 aircraft.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police also said they were investigating a possible wildfire-related death near Summerland but were unable to confirm a fatality because of the dangerous conditions.

The BC Wildfire Service said on Sunday morning that the blaze was showing signs of possibly rank six behavior which is the highest level a fire can reach.

Erick Thompson, an emergency official with the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, had been providing updates on the fire from an emergency operations center before he was forced to evacuate his own family.

The devastating fire comes weeks after President Donald Trump threatened to impose tariffs on Canada over wildfire smoke that choked US cities in July.

‘We are holding Canada responsible for the fact that they are not properly maintaining their forests and brush,’ the president wrote on Truth Social.

The US is being ‘invaded by filthy, polluted, and unhealthy air, the quality of which is dangerous and totally unacceptable,’ Trump added.

Fires that have been blazing in Canada’s Ontario province have caused massive plumes of smoke to blanket much of the eastern United States.

Those plumes reached major US cities, including Washington, DC, and New York City, on Thursday evening.

Trump has repeatedly sought to put pressure on Canada through tariffs during his second term.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the BC Wildfire Service, the RCMP, the BC Ministry of Forests, and Premier David Eby’s office for comment.

Sean Hannity Dismisses Fox News Poll Predicting Texas Democrat’s Senate Victory

0

During a dynamic exchange on Tuesday night, Sean Hannity seemed to dismiss the credibility of his own network’s polling data while interviewing Bill de Blasio, the former mayor of New York known for his far-left views.

Hannity, now 64, expressed skepticism regarding a July 30 poll that appeared to give a slight lead to a progressive Texas Senate contender over Republican Ken Paxton. He remarked on his primetime broadcast that he couldn’t take the poll results seriously, even for a moment.

Currently, Congressman James Talarico from the Austin area is engaged in a heated battle against Paxton, as the campaign intensifies on both sides.

As Hannity criticized the stance of Democratic socialists, de Blasio, 65, interjected with a query about the Fox News poll. This came after Hannity pointedly brought up Talarico’s previous remarks on topics like gender and religion.

Hannity initiated his critique by asking, “Do you really think ‘Six-Gender Talarico,’ who holds the belief that God is non-binary, supports biological men in women’s sports, and advocates for their access to abortion…”

He was almost immediately interrupted by de Blasio, who flagged the poll putting Talarico ahead by three percentage points.

‘Did you read your own poll today where Talarico is beating Paxton?’ the former mayor asked, causing Hannity to express hesitance.

Talarico, meanwhile, is not a Democratic socialist.

Hannity, 64, said he 'didn't believe' a July 30 poll from the outfit that put Texas Senate candidate slightly in front of Republican Ken Paxton 'for two seconds' on his primetime show, where he was joined by former New York Mayor and Defund the Police supporter Bill De Blasio

Hannity continued the conversation by bringing up another Democrat who is not, oyster farmer-turned-Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner.

Platner called off his campaign last month in the wake of rape allegations that he denies and having a tattoo recognized as a Nazi SS symbol earlier this year – things Hannity was sure to point out.

De Blasio countered that people like Talarico were at least gaining momentum for touting ‘common-sense, kitchen-table issues,’ in contrast to people like Paxton.

‘This is the worst nightmare for Republicans, if Democrats get their act together and talk about the kitchen table,’ de Blasio asserted, referring to the prospective lay of the land in 2028.

Hannity, one of Fox News’ original cohosts circa 1996, was still not convinced.

He pointed out how progressives like James Carville, Bill Maher and John Fetterman have expressed frustrations with their party over more radical candidates and policies.

Hannity said pushback from those early advocates was tantamount to ‘a canary in the coal mine.’

Nope,’ de Blasio answered, as the two talked over each other. ‘You’re going to see whole generations of young voters. Young voters are gonna change these elections. You’re gonna be surprised, and they’re gonna be with the Democrats.’

Talarico’s opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, is considered a hardline conservative. The Fox poll put him three percentage points behind Talarico, despite his years of experience

Both men were so convinced in their correctness that they repeatedly proposed making ‘a bet.’

Talarico, 37, turned heads in 2021 during committee debate on a bill regarding transgender student athlete bans by saying that ‘modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes – in fact, there are six.’

He also claimed ‘God is non-binary’ during the same speech.

He appeared to walk back the latter during a May interview with ABC Live, saying it was ‘meant to be deliberately provocative.’

“Ken Paxton is clipping my past cringey comments to distract from his career of corruption,” he said at the time.

He also said that he believes ‘you can’t use human categories to define God.’ He added that Republicans were seizing on the comments ‘to try and distract from the corrupt system that Ken Paxton embodies.’

The Texas Senate race has commanded national attention, largely due to the pair’s differing political views. Paxton, Texas’s attorney general for a decade, is a hardline conservative.

His campaign website warns the ‘election will determine whether Texas remains the conservative stronghold that leads America or becomes another state controlled by the radical left.’

Micanopy Break-In Drama: Woman Caught Red-Handed During Home Burglary

Reported by Staff

MICANOPY, Fla. – Estephania Andrea Lucado, a Gainesville resident aged 38, found herself in handcuffs yesterday after being accused of breaking into an occupied home in Micanopy and making off with stolen goods.

Around 5:31 p.m. on August 7, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE CR 234. The homeowner reported catching Lucado red-handed while pilfering items from a screened porch. The victim further alleged that this wasn’t Lucado’s first time taking things from their home.

A responding deputy reportedly witnessed Lucado exiting the premises with food items, notably cold as if fresh from the refrigerator. Despite this, Lucado purportedly attempted to hand over the goods to the deputy, claiming innocence on the grounds that the items had not left the property.

Lucado is said to have been uncooperative with authorities, opting not to reveal her identity or respond to their inquiries.

Lucado, whose address is listed as Gainesville, has been charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling, theft, and resisting an officer without violence. She has no local criminal history, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $54,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The vibrant whirlwind of the transfer window has officially begun, extending until September 1. Clubs are gearing up to secure game-changing signings with next season’s ambitions on the line.

Here’s a roundup of today’s latest buzz, expertly curated by Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

Everton and Palace advance in swap deal talks

However, talks between the two clubs are now progressing over a compromise.

Johnson has been a long-term target for Everton and David Moyes, dating back to his spell at Nottingham Forest. He joined Palace for a then-club record transfer fee, in the winter window but has struggled badly to find any form and there is a growing sense a move would suit all parties.

McNeil was upset when he failed to get his move away in January but regained his place under Moyes. If all goes well a deal both players could be given permission to undergo medicals early this week.

Meanwhile, Palace are keen to offer a new contract for Jefferson Lerma while Club Brugge are pushing to agree a £10m deal plus sell-on for Pakace’s Romain Esse.

Israel Enhances Iran Deterrence with New $634M German-Built Submarine

0

Israel has bolstered its naval capabilities with the recent arrival of its cutting-edge submarine, the most sophisticated and costly vessel it has acquired from Germany. This strategic addition comes as regional tensions continue to rise, as per reported sources.

The introduction of the INS Drakon is poised to dramatically enhance Israel’s naval warfare and intelligence-gathering potential under the sea, according to a report by The Algemeiner. Initially slated for delivery by 2025, the advanced warship’s arrival ahead of schedule marks a significant strategic step for the nation’s defense forces.

During its christening ceremony in Kiel in 2024, a statement highlighted that the INS Drakon belongs to the Dolphin AIP class and is outfitted with cutting-edge technologies. These innovations greatly extend the Israeli Defense Forces’ operational reach across multiple theaters of conflict.

Constructed by Germany’s ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) for the Israeli Navy, the submarine plays a crucial role in fortifying a sea-based defense strategy. In the current geopolitical climate involving the conflict with Iran, defense experts underscore its importance for deterrence and retaliatory measures.

Dr. Ehud Eilam, a renowned Israeli national security specialist and former defense ministry researcher, stressed to News Media the critical nature of sustaining a relentless underwater presence for Israel’s continued security and autonomy.

“Some of them would have to be at sea, on high alert, around the clock, if Iran suddenly attacked Israel in such a way that would cripple the IDF, including its strategic capabilities,” Eilam said.

“In such a drastic scenario, Israel’s submarine/s that would be at sea could respond,” he added.

“Israel’s other submarines might be in Haifa harbor at the time. They might be attacked and unable to operate. This demonstrates how important it is to always have submarines at sea.”

TKMS reportedly handed over the INS Drakon—the sixth Dolphin-class vessel and third modified Dolphin II-class submarine in Israel’s fleet—at its shipyard in Kiel, Germany, in late July.

Measuring more than 70 meters (230 feet) in length with a displacement exceeding 2,000 tons, the vessel is reported to be the largest submarine constructed in Germany since World War II, carrying an estimated price tag of $634 million, according to The Algemeiner.

According to Israeli outlet Ynet , Israel’s Dolphin-class fleet also provides the nation with a critical sea-based second-strike capability in its defense program.

“Everything is going according to plan with the new program for Israel,” TKMS CEO Oliver Burkhard told Ynet Global.

“That also applies to the handover of the last boat of the previous series, including the homecoming in Israel,” he said of the expansive submarine program.

The INS Drakon’s arrival comes as Israel projects increasing military power across distant operational theaters, Eilam said.

“Israel has been acquiring submarines for several purposes. One of them is for deterrence and retribution, such as if Iran manages to develop nuclear weapons,” Eilam said before adding that “Israel has to be ready.”

While submarines on active deployment carry out intelligence and reconnaissance missions across the Mediterranean Sea, their primary objective remains readiness for “doomsday scenarios,” Eilam noted.

“Israel’s new submarine is bigger than others, which suggests Israel wants to have more options, such as increasing the range of the submarine’s missiles so they can reach every target in Iran, even if the Israeli submarine is in the Mediterranean Sea,” Eilam said.

“That way the submarine does not have to get closer to Iran, which requires crossing the Suez Canal, and this could be very risky, if not impossible in some situations,” he added. “The other alternative is to bypass all of Africa, which would take a long time.”

The new submarine was named INS Drakon (Dragon) — a mythical sea creature symbolizing strength, uniqueness and power — was chosen because it contains the Hebrew letters ד׳, ק׳, ר׳ (Dakar), thus commemorating the legacy of the submarine INS Dakar and its crew, the Ministry of Defense said.

News Media has reached out to the Israeli Navy, the Ministry of Defense, TKMS and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for comment.

Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott Welcome First Baby, Announcing Joyful New Chapter

0

Aubrey Plaza is embracing motherhood!

The beloved “Parks and Recreation” star recently welcomed her first child with partner Christopher Abbott.

Paparazzi caught a glimpse of the new mom cradling her newborn in New York City last Sunday. The outing came after what was reportedly Abbott’s final appearance in Broadway’s acclaimed production, “Death of a Salesman.” According to TMZ, insiders revealed that Plaza gave birth to a baby girl in the final days of July.

Plaza first shared her pregnancy with the world in April, just a day after People magazine announced she was expecting and scheduled to welcome her baby in the fall.

“They feel very blessed,” an insider mentioned at the time, describing the addition to their family as “a beautiful surprise after an emotional year.”

Plaza, notably, lost estranged husband Jeff Baena in January 2025.

The former couple had been separated for four months when the director died by suicide at age 47.

Plaza and Baena’s family released a joint statement in the wake of the “unimaginable tragedy,” reading, “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.”

The comedian opened up about her “daily struggle” on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast seven months later.

“Right in this very very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,” she told the host in August 2025. “Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning.”

Plaza went on to compare her grief to a “giant ocean of just awfulness.”

She explained, “Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it. And sometimes I look at it and sometimes I just try to get away from it, but it’s always there.”

The Emmy nominee credited her “funny friends” with still being able to make her “laugh really, really hard” while navigating the tragedy.

The “White Lotus” alum married Baena in May 2021, with the duo spontaneously tying the knot in tie-dye pajamas after a decade together.

It is unclear when she began dating Abbott.

Plaza and the “Girls” alum, 40, have acted together in the “Black Bear” film and the “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea” Off-Broadway production in 2020 and 2023, respectively.

Abbott broke his silence on his girlfriend’s pregnancy in a May “Today” show interview, calling it a “very exciting” development.

Prior to Plaza, the actor dated his “Katie Says Goodbye” co-star Olivia Cooke between 2015 and 2020.

Marvel Fans Torn Apart as The Punisher Roils Spider-Man: Brand New Day Debates

0

Though “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” marks the fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man saga, its scope stretches far beyond just another superhero film. This ambitious project also intertwines with the larger MCU through several beloved characters. It serves as a “New Avengers” connection, featuring Florence Pugh’s compelling portrayal of Black Widow and integrates a Hulk narrative led by the ever-charming Mark Ruffalo. In a twist, it also hints at the coming of the MCU’s X-Men, highlighted by Sadie Sink’s take on Jean Grey. Add a layer of the vigilante edge with Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, and it almost feels like a Punisher movie. The dynamics between Castle and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man have sparked varied fan reactions. For an in-depth analysis, watch our detailed video above.

For those unfamiliar with the movie, the contrast could be immediately noticeable. The Punisher, synonymous with being one of Marvel’s grimmest characters, pursues a relentless quest against evil without compassion. On the other hand, Peter Parker, portrayed by Holland, brings a lighter, more hopeful energy even amidst challenging narratives, as is evident in “Brand New Day.” While many appreciate the film’s lighter, comedic tone with Castle, some fans argue that this shift marks a misstep for Marvel in their portrayal of the Punisher.

Opinions may differ based on what one expects from the character, yet this nuanced version of Frank Castle aligns creatively with the film’s overall narrative. Though it diverges from his depiction in “Daredevil” and other series, his portrayal in this context feels purposeful.

The Punisher is less brutal in Spider-Man Brand New Day

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” explores two pivotal themes: the constant of change and the universal need for companionship. These themes cleverly justify this reimagined version of Frank Castle—a vigilante who, showing a softer side, stays by Spider-Man’s hospital bed after an accidental shooting and is visibly moved when Peter regains consciousness. This portrayal contrasts sharply with the ruthless assassin from Bernthal’s previous outings. However, within the film’s storyline, does it really seem so implausible?

People can change, and this Punisher isn’t wildly different from the one we’ve seen on the Netflix and Disney+ series. His friendship with the endlessly optimistic Spidey might just be the thing he needed to let a tiny bit more light into his life. “You look just like I thought you would,” Frank tells Peter after he wakes up from his coma in the hospital. “A nice kid. I never had a friend like that.”

Is it a bit much for the character? Sure. But at the same time, this has long been part of the Marvel Comics universe. Characters behave differently under the pen of different writers, in different series and crossovers, by the very nature of the medium. The MCU has garnered plenty of guff over the years for its extensive “homework,” but the bright side of that is a roster of characters who can be pulled out of the box and mixed up at any time. Of course Punisher is going to act a little different in Spider-Man’s latest movie. That hasn’t stopped “Brand New Day” from blowing everyone away at the box office.

Aubrey Plaza Spotted with Newborn Baby for the First Time at 42

Aubrey Plaza recently made her first public appearance with her newborn, catching the attention of onlookers as she tenderly held the baby close.

On a sunny Sunday, the 42-year-old actress was seen embracing her little one during a family outing in New York City. It marks a new chapter in her life with partner Christopher Abbott, aged 40, as they welcomed their first child together.

Dressed for the warm weather, Plaza opted for a casual look, sporting a black tank top and sunglasses, as she ventured out into the bustling Manhattan streets with their child.

Her day included a stop at the Winter Garden Theatre, where she supported Abbott during the last show of his Broadway, “Death of a Salesman.”

Just two weeks earlier, Plaza was photographed showcasing her baby bump as she enjoyed a leisurely stroll in New York City on July 26.

It is the first child for both Plaza and Abbott. The White Lotus star first confirmed her pregnancy in April.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Plaza’s reps for comment.

In the days since she welcomed her baby, she dressed for comfort, wearing baggy jeans and black, slip-on sneakers.

Plaza had a smile on her face and was a doting, new mom as she attentively watched a family member, who also took turns holding her baby.

The Parks and Recreation alum showed off her natural beauty and radiant glow as she stepped out sans makeup and with her dark tresses pulled back in carefree, high ponytail.

At the time, she spoke about becoming a first-time mother over a year since she became estranged from her late husband Jeff Baena.

Baena died by suicide in January 2025. Plaza and the screenwriter had been separated since September 2024, an LA County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report obtained by DailyMail.com revealed.

When asked if she was ‘excited’ about taking on motherhood on The View in April, she gushed: ‘I am. Yeah, I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?’

People first confirmed Plaza was pregnant with her first child in April and said she was due to give birth in the fall.

‘It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,’ a source told the publication at the time.

The couple, who previously starred on Broadway together before falling in love, are said to be feeling ‘very blessed.’

Plaza’s partner Abbott is best known for playing the on-off boyfriend of Allison Williams’s character Marnie on Lena Dunham’s influential HBO comedy Girls.

Plaza and Abbott worked together in 2019 on the indie psychological drama Black Bear, in which both actors played dual roles as actors and directors trying to shoot a film in an eerie, isolated lake house.

The low-budget thriller premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 to critical acclaim, with several reviewers singling it out as one of Plaza’s best performances to date.

In 2023, the pair collaborated together again — this time on stage — in the Off Broadway revival of John Patrick Shanley’s play Danny And The Deep Blue Sea, which ran until January 2024.

Indiana Father Charged with Severe Abuse After Allegedly Biting Newborn

0

A tragic incident in Indiana has captured attention after a father allegedly bit his newborn daughter when her cries couldn’t be soothed. The baby, left bruised in a manner described vividly as resembling a “busted up egg,” is at the center of a court case revealed in a probable cause affidavit sent to Oxygen

Eighteen-year-old Kaden Manuel Lewis Shrum is facing serious charges of battery causing injury to a person under 14, categorized as a level 5 felony. The charge, documented in a Monroe County court filing obtained by Oxygen, highlights the severity of the allegations.

Although Shrum has entered a not guilty plea as documented in court records, the affidavit notes that he reportedly admitted to both relatives and social workers from the Department of Child Services that he was indeed responsible for biting the infant.

Concerns escalated on July 15 when a pediatrician alerted the Department of Child Services to a suspicious mark on a 9-day-old baby’s face. According to the affidavit, the bruise — alarming and unusual — was described as “suspicious” and suspected to be from a bite, with ring-like markings encompassing her entire left cheek indicative of dental impressions.

Initially, Shrum explained to authorities that the mark might have been caused by his daughter sleeping on her pacifier. He mentioned that he and the child’s mother were planning to have the infant examined at a scheduled weigh-in appointment the next day.

However, police noted in the affidavit that it was “highly improbable” that a pacifier caused the injury based on the pattern and force.

Shrum eventually admitted that his daughter had been fussing and crying and would not sleep, so in trying to calm her down, he “nibbled” on her cheek.

“He demonstrated how he took the skin of her cheek into his mouth,” according to the affidavit, “and repeatedly bit down on it in a chomping motion.”

Shrum said that he regularly “nibbles” the baby and that while he intentionally bit her, he did not intend to harm her, according to the affidavit. He explained that he accidentally bit down too hard after taking too much of her skin between his teeth and that this was the first time he had caused an injury.

“She’s so small and delicate,” Shrum told police, as written in the affidavit. “She’s like a busted-up egg.”

Shrum was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail. He has since been released after posting bond, a spokesperson from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department told Oxygen

He will next appear in court on September 1, court records show. Oxygen could not locate his attorney
