Family Breaks Silence After Man’s Arrest for Allegedly Terrorizing Women on Streets

0

The sister of a man infamous for his violent antics in North Carolina has stepped forward, revealing her family’s desperate attempts to have him institutionalized after a series of troubling incidents. Her brother’s aggressive behavior has created chaos across their community.

Di-Quan Hunt, aged 32, found himself in legal trouble once again on Thursday, when he was apprehended for assault with a deadly weapon. Videos that have since gone viral on social media revealed him aggressively pursuing women, subjecting them to harassment, and allegedly engaging in physical violence, including slapping and punching a woman.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed that they had been actively investigating these incidents. Hunt’s arrest took place later that same day, bringing a temporary halt to his spree of fear.

Speculation has mounted regarding Hunt’s criminal history and the reasons behind his continued presence on Charlotte’s streets, despite his dangerous past.

Before this recent arrest, Hunt had already been jailed at least nine times in the last few years. His previous charges include assault with a deadly weapon, making threats, and violating restraining orders linked to domestic violence, as reported by WBTV.

His sister told ABC affiliate WSOC that Hunt has exhibited violent behavior with family members and they have been attempting to get him off the streets.

She explained that she believes he has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, PTSD and bipolar disorder, but has refused to take medication.

His sister, who declined to show her face on television or provide her name, told the outlet that he had a history of violence and recently started attacking random people in the Dilworth neighborhood.

Distressing videos on social media appeared to show Hunt harming women on the streets. Police said they had already been investigating his social media activity when he was reported

‘He completely just flipped, and that turned into violence. And we had to call the cops then,’ she said.

Hunt’s sister detailed violent experiences where both she and her mother were victims.

She added that they reported video evidence to police last Monday and contacted officers on Thursday to provide his location.

She said that her family has struggled to get help for her brother, but has been stuck in a vicious cycle where he continues to be released after his arrests.

His sister expressed concern that if Hunt is released back onto the streets without medication, his or someone else’s life may be at stake.

She added that she hopes her brother’s victims see justice and that her brother’s actions have put her and her family’s lives at risk, citing instances of harassment from the public.

One of the videos handed over to police depicted an assault on July 30 when a victim was punched on the sidewalk and later transported to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The video showed a woman lying on the sidewalk as she was repeatedly punched, nearly knocked unconscious, on East Boulevard in Charlotte.

In the footage, a man was seen walking down the street as the victim walked in the opposite direction. The video began with the suspect fuming, ‘That July 21st is the real issue n****.’

As the woman walked closer, the suspect struck her and she fell to the floor. He was then heard yelling, ‘You still talking?’ before he struck her face again and continued screaming.

Another viral video saw a man, alleged to be Hunt, confronting and harassing another woman walking down the street.

‘B***. You wanna run b***? You wanna run motherf***er,’ the man was heard saying, as the woman was videoed escaping onto the road behind a car.

‘Huh? I bet you run again motherf***er. You said something else? You said something… You Donald Trump motherf***er and that other motherf***er who (unintelligible) my son Elijah. I’m gonna f***ing kill you.’

A man who said Hunt threatened him last year at a Charlotte light rail station told WBTV that he had taken a plea deal and was sentenced to time served – a total of 89 days in the Mecklenburg County Jail.

‘And he lifts the shirt up to show me what he’s got and he said, “Are you ready to die today?” I saw my life flash in front of my eyes. I didn’t know what to think. I was frozen, it felt like an eternity.’

When the victim went to court for a hearing, he said prosecutors told him he had been punished enough.

Hunt was taken to a local medical facility for treatment after his arrest and will be transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the investigation remains active and ongoing.

ICE to Equip All Field Officers with Body Cameras by August Deadline: A Transformative Step Towards Transparency

0

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Saturday its plan to equip every field officer and agent with a body camera by the end of August. This swift expansion aims to deliver an unparalleled visual account of the government’s immigration enforcement activities.

However, the decision to make this footage available to the public largely rests in the hands of ICE.

The agency justified its policy on body-worn cameras, responding to concerns regarding clauses that permit ICE executives to either withhold or indefinitely postpone the release of footage following incidents involving significant injuries or deaths in custody.

Acting Director David J. Venturella explained that these restrictions are designed to safeguard investigations and privacy, aligning with federal laws and the practices of other federal law enforcement agencies.

Venturella’s remarks were a response to an Associated Press report, highlighting ICE’s policy that includes a clause for the prompt release of footage if it is deemed to serve the “best interests of the agency” following serious injuries or custodial deaths.

Venturella said the AP “mischaracterized” the policy by conflating that provision with ICE’s broader authority to release body-camera footage. He said the policy clarifies that footage should not be released when doing so could compromise investigations or privacy.

The AP report did not say the provision governs every release of body-camera footage. It focused on ICE’s policy for releasing footage after some of the most consequential encounters with the public: those involving serious injury or death.

The AP sought comment from ICE before its initial story on Friday. The agency provided partial responses, without addressing the provision that footage would be released when in its “best interests.”

ICE has been under heightened scrutiny since the fatal shooting in July of a 25-year-old motorist in Maine by an ICE officer with a history of violent behavior. Days earlier, another ICE officer shot and killed a Houston homebuilder driving to work. Neither shooting was recorded with body cameras.

Venturella said ICE was “committed to transparency and accountability” and was “on track to equip every officer and agent in the field with body-worn cameras by the end of August.”

The AP quoted Christopher Schneider, a sociology professor at Brandon University in Canada, who said that selective releases are routine in some law enforcement agencies but usually not so clearly contemplated in policy. “In some ways, ICE is saying the quiet part out loud,” he said.

The story noted that ICE’s sister agency, Customs and Border Protection, has not released footage of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in January. CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott told lawmakers that it was part of an investigation and would be made public “when it’s appropriate.”

Sculpt Upper Arms Fast: 5 At-Home Exercises for Over 60s

0

Need to tone up your upper arms without leaving the comfort of your home? Here are some easy exercises that can help sculpt and strengthen them.

>

Whether you’re gearing up for a beach vacation or want to feel more confident in a sleeveless dress, we have the solution. As you age, upper arm flab can often make an unwelcome appearance due to muscle loss, diminished elasticity, hormonal changes, and reduced physical activity. While targeting fat loss in one specific area isn’t possible, adopting the right workout routine to firm and define these muscles can significantly enhance their appearance.

We reached out to Melissa Leach, a Certified Yoga Instructor and Strength & Conditioning Coach at Yoga-Go, who reveals five exercises you can perform daily to tone your upper arms more effectively than gym machines, especially for those over 60.

According to Leach, “Developing upper-body strength offers more benefits than aesthetics. It’s a vital sign of overall health and practical capability. Routine training not only boosts muscle mass but also promotes joint stability, enhances metabolic function, and makes everyday activities easier and safer.” She adds, “These exercises can be done with small dumbbells, wrist weights, or simply your body weight. It’s wise to start light, gradually increasing resistance as your form and posture improve.”

Arm Circles

“Keep your shoulders relaxed and avoid shrugging them toward your ears. Focus on smooth, controlled circles rather than speed. The goal is mobility and endurance, not momentum,” Leach recommends.

  1. Begin standing tall with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Extend both arms straight out to the sides at shoulder level.
  3. Make tiny, controlled forward circles with your arms for 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. Then, reverse the direction.

Single-Arm Lat Pull-Downs

“This exercise is better performed with small weights or a resistance band. The resistance should come from muscle engagement, not momentum, so focus on your form and squeezing the muscles along the sides of your back with every repetition,” Leach says.

  1. Begin standing tall with your arms extended overhead—holding a small dumbbell in each hand—and your palms facing forward.
  2. Pull one elbow down toward your ribcage, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
  3. Use control to slowly extend your arm back overhead.
  4. Repeat with the opposite arm.
  5. Perform 12 to 15 reps.

4 Moves That Build Arms Faster Than Bicep Curls After 40, According to US Army Coach

Side-Body Reach Pulses

“Keep the pulses small and controlled, with both feet firmly planted on the floor. The goal is to create length from your hip all the way to your fingertips,” Leach says.

  1. Begin standing tall with your feet hip-distance apart.
  2. Raise one arm overhead.
  3. Gently lean toward the opposite side to feel a solid stretch through the side of your torso.
  4. From there, perform tiny pulses deeper into the stretch for 10 to 15 reps.
  5. Switch sides.

5 Standing Exercises To Shrink Your ‘Armpit Pooch’ For Good

Steering Wheels

“The further your arms are from your body, the harder your shoulders have to work. Keep your core engaged, your spine tall, and move slowly to maximize muscle activation,” Leach explains.

  1. Start by holding a light dumbbell with both hands. Alternatively, clasp your hands together and extend your arms ahead of you.
  2. Gradually rotate your hands from one side to the other as if turning a steering wheel.
  3. Perform 15 to 20 rotations in each direction.

Bulgaria Summons Ukrainian Ambassador Over Drone Incident Near Romanian Border

0

Ukraine has firmly refuted allegations that it targeted Bulgaria, following an incident where a drone detonated near the critical Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, which runs from Turkey to Ukraine near Romania’s border.

The Bulgarian defense ministry reported that the drone resembled models commonly used by the Ukrainian military, prompting the foreign minister to call in the Ukrainian ambassador for discussions on Monday, as confirmed by her office to the Agence France-Presse (AFP) news outlet.

In response, Ukraine expressed its commitment to “work closely with Bulgarian authorities to investigate the matter,” marking this as another incident where a drone has breached NATO airspace amid Ukraine’s ongoing resistance against the Russian invasion.

Georgiy Tykhyi, a spokesman for Ukraine’s foreign ministry, assured that Ukraine’s Armed Forces did not deliberately aim any devices toward Bulgaria, attributing the mishap to the ongoing Russian aggression.

Although the explosion resulted in no injuries, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that the drone carried a “significant” amount of explosives.

“The drone exploded in the immediate vicinity of the Kardam border-crossing with Romania,” near the Black Sea in the country’s northeast, “1,000 metres from the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline’s compressor station,” he said in a video released by the government.

After analysing the debris from the crash, Bulgaria’s defence ministry, however, said that “currently, nothing suggests that this was a deliberate incident”.

The drone eventually crashed into a sunflower field, Radev said.

A ‘loud explosion’

Romania border police recorded the sound of the drone, then a Bulgarian border police patrol spotted “a loud explosion accompanied by black smoke”, Radev added, speaking after an extraordinary meeting of his cabinet’s security council.

“One thing is certain: the drone was carrying a significant amount of explosives, given that it could be heard from a distance and produced such black smoke,” he said.

The drone had not been detected by either of the two neighbouring countries, he said, adding: “As you know, identifying and neutralising these drones poses a major challenge.”

Incidents involving drones have become increasingly frequent in recent months across eastern European countries that are NATO members and supporters of Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

Romania has faced frequent drone incursions since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, including some crashes on its territory. It ordered the expulsion of a Russian embassy staff member in late July.

Radev said that, following the latest incident, Bulgaria had boosted its surveillance and would redeploy troops and soldiers to the borders to detect drones and employ anti-drone measures.

Several recent incidents

Bulgaria, Romania and Türkiye all front onto the Black Sea, an arena of drone combat by both Ukraine and Russia which has seen attacks on civilian ships.

Türkiye’s foreign minister on Saturday called for a “moratorium” on attacks by Russia and Ukraine in the body of water in an interview with Türkiye’s state news agency Anadolu.

“To begin with, they targeted the ports and the military ships,” said Hakan Fidan. “Now, they are attacking all commercial shipping without distinction.”

Türkiye had already on Wednesday denounced Black Sea drone attacks on two Turkish civilian vessels the previous day, in which some crew members were injured.

Bulgaria in June halted its military aid to Ukraine. Radev said the country did not belong in the coalition of Kyiv’s allies supplying arms and that he preferred to see diplomatic efforts to end the war.

Further west, a German military operational command spokesman told AFP on Saturday that drones were detected this week above an army installation in western Germany known to house a large underground depot.

Among other armaments, the Mechernich special site is home to parts for US-made Patriot air-defence systems long coveted by Kyiv.

Those sightings came days after an explosives-laden drone was found near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig-Halle airport, which plays a key role in the transport of military goods by the German military and NATO allies.

Teen Girls Left Dangling: Jersey Shore Ride Malfunction Caught in Shocking Detail

0

Just a day after Independence Day, an exhilarating day turned into a nightmare for over a dozen thrill-seekers along the Ocean City boardwalk in New Jersey when they found themselves hanging upside down on a broken amusement ride.

Among those caught in the thrill turned fiasco were 13-year-olds Charlotte Hacker and Emilia Gordon. The pair had innocently embarked on the new Wipe Out ride at Playland’s Castaway Cove that evening, only to end up part of an unexpected adventure.

After obtaining permission from their parents, the two shared their harrowing story with News Media, recalling the chilling moments of suspense as they swayed helplessly in the air, unclear when their ordeal would end.

“We were inverted for what felt like an eternity,” Hacker revealed on Saturday. “It might have been just five to seven minutes to those watching from below, but for us hanging there, time crawled to a standstill, stretching into what felt like an hour.”

The trip to the boardwalk was a special occasion for the friends, a prelude to Gordon’s 13th birthday celebration. They were no strangers to the attractions there but decided to try their luck on the new Wipe Out ride, seeking the thrill of something different.

The ride swings like a pendulum, repeatedly turning thrill-seekers upside down while its passenger compartment spins. Only this time, the ride inexplicably stopped with everyone suspended upside down.

“I seriously thought I was going to pass out,” Gordon said. “You try to put your head up, but you literally can’t. You can barely get it up at all.”

The girls, seated next to each other, tried to carry on mundane conversations to distract themselves while blood rushed to their heads.

“I remember thinking that the lap bars were going to open and that we were just going to fall,” Gordon said.

Family members on the ground waiting for their kids to get off the ride were terrified as well, the girls said.

“My uncle was there too, because we were all with my cousins, so he was also freaking out,” Hacker said.

Eventually, the ride’s operators managed to get it moving again, but to the girls’ dismay, it kept on going. Once the ride finished, they said they weren’t let off for another few minutes.

It is unclear what caused the apparent malfunction, and if any injuries were reported.

Hacker said the ride did not close, adding that there were some people who stayed in line and rode it after they got off.

“When we came off, people were literally clapping,” Gordon said.

The amusement park offered ticket refunds to the girls, which they didn’t think was sufficient after what they went through.

“That ride is five tickets, so they just gave back our ticket but [Hacker] only got three back. I got five. But still, after all that, I feel like you expect more,” Gordon said.

News Media has reached out to the Ocean City Fire Department, Ocean City Police Department, the ride’s operator and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for comment.

Israeli Embassy in US Remembers 6 Hostages Murdered by Hamas in Gaza: A Heartfelt Tribute

0

(Aug. 8, 2026 / JNS) In Washington, the Israeli embassy solemnly commemorated the second Hebrew yahrzeit on Saturday. This date marks the anniversary of the brutal murder of six hostages by Hamas militants in a tunnel located in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, back in August 2024.

The victims who lost their lives in this tragic event are Master Sgt. Ori Danino, Carmel Gat, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Eden Yerushalmi.

“As we light the Shabbat candles, we illuminate their memories, keeping their light alive. May the recollection of their lives always be a blessing, and may their light continue to guide us,” was the heartfelt message shared by the embassy on Twitter.

These six individuals were abducted during a Hamas-coordinated onslaught on the northwestern Negev on October 7, 2023.

Tragically, the hostages were discovered within a tunnel 65 feet below ground, sustaining gunshot wounds to both their heads and bodies.

One of the hostages showed signs of being tied up, and they all showed evidence of neglect and not having bathed for a long time.

In addition, there was evidence that they sustained injuries during their kidnapping that were treated over time.

The hostages are believed to have been transported from the northern Gaza Strip to the south, where they were murdered.

Their bodies were recovered by the Israel Defense Forces on Sept. 1, 2024.

Perez Hilton Experiences Severe Blood Loss Following Self-Harm Incident

0

Perez Hilton’s representatives have come forward to disclose the serious nature of his injuries following a shocking livestream where he inflicted harm on himself using a knife.

A statement shared on Hilton’s official website detailed that he experienced ‘significant blood loss’ during this distressing event, along with several other ‘additional injuries’ that were not specified.

The update further explains that the 48-year-old celebrity blogger is scheduled to undergo surgery in the upcoming days to address his injuries.

Additionally, the statement confirmed that Hilton is currently ‘hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act,’ a statute allowing for involuntary psychiatric commitment.

Because of these circumstances and the implications of the Baker Act, his team noted that Hilton’s ‘communication has been severely restricted to only immediate family, healthcare providers, and those directly involved in his treatment.’

It emphasized that his ‘condition remains serious but stable,’ and Hilton’s team said his ‘treatment and recovery’ would be a ‘long process.’

They also shared that he had been able to spend time with his mother and sister on Friday.

Hilton’s team confirmed that his ‘children remain safe and are being cared for by immediate family.’

‘Please allow them and the rest of the family the peace and privacy they desperately need during this incredibly difficult time,’ the statement concluded. ‘Thank you for your continued support, compassion, and understanding.’

The latest update from Hilton’s camp comes after the Daily Mail exclusively revealed his first words from his hospital bed.

The Baker Act – officially the Florida Mental Health Act – allows medical and mental health professionals, as well as judges and law enforcement officers, to involuntarily commit individuals for up to 72 hours if they are believed to be at risk of harming themselves or others.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, Hilton was transported to a hospital in an ambulance after a distressing TikTok livestream which saw him self-harm with a knife.

Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s house captured the moment when law enforcement arrived to the star’s residence in Miami after fans reached out to 911 over concern for his welfare.

Police cars could be seen puling up to the home not long after 7pm on Tuesday evening.

Law enforcement was seen trying to get Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., out of his home in the video.

A deputy was heard calling out: ‘Mario, it’s the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, please step out of the house.’

Clips taken from the footage, which the Daily Mail will not publish, appeared to show the media personality covered in blood while brandishing a knife.

The livestream video has since been taken down by TikTok, and his account has also been suspended.

Made in the Cade

Cade Klubnik demonstrated impressive skills as he concluded Saturday’s scrimmage with a bang. Operating the second-team offense, he orchestrated a touchdown drive in a high-pressure two-minute drill, highlighted by a spectacular 66-yard pass to Isaiah Williams.

The rookie quarterback is currently competing against veteran Bailey Zappe for the crucial role of backing up Geno Smith.

Stumbling blockers

Challenges emerged for the offensive line, struggling not only with blocking rookie edge rusher David Bailey but also with managing the blitz strategies designed by Aaron Glenn, the head coach and defensive play-caller.

In a pivotal moment, Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick executed a well-timed blitz, storming through the middle to secure a sack.

Caught my eye

With John Simpson previously assuming the role of enforcer on the Jets’ offensive line, speculation arises this season about whether Joe Tippmann might step into those shoes.

The offensive guard got in cornerback Azareye’h Thomas’ face after he was called for a personal foul for taking down wideout Omar Cooper Jr. with a horse collar.

Injury report

Bailey limped off late in practice with an ankle injury. Glenn doesn’t believe it is serious, and Bailey was jogging on the sideline after being checked out. Safety VJ Payne (bone bruise) is expected to miss three to four weeks, according to Glenn.

Defensive end Kingsley Jonathan is dealing with a thigh bruise, but Glenn expects him to be fine.

Heartbreaking Signs of Betrayal: Unmasking Infidelity in Relationships

0

When someone who cheats is discovered, their reaction can illuminate whether the infidelity was a one-time lapse or hints at a recurring, damaging motif that might persist, according to specialists.

Contrary to the common belief that serial infidels are driven by a sheer obsession with sex, New York-based psychotherapist and sex therapist Chamin Ajjan explains that such conduct usually springs from more profound issues.

In a conversation with the Daily Mail, Ajjan revealed that persistent unfaithfulness is frequently linked to compulsions, unresolved past traumas, and contrary to conventional wisdom, might be a way of managing difficult emotions instead of an endless chase for indulgence.

“There could be deep-seated trauma,” Ajjan shared, “and they may turn to sexual encounters to anesthetize old childhood wounds or previous emotional pain.”

“It’s essentially a mechanism for self-regulation, helping to soothe their nervous system, and is far less about seeking pleasure,” she added.

Ajjan said one of the clearest differences between someone who has a one-time affair and a serial cheater is how they respond after betraying their partner.

While a person responsible for an isolated affair will often immediately express remorse, a serial cheater may minimize the pain they caused, blame their partner and feel worse about being caught than the betrayal itself.

Serial cheaters can also feel entitled to the experience or become addicted to the excitement and risk that comes with getting away with an affair.

Chamin Ajjan (Pictured) is a psychotherapist in New York who has practiced couples and sex therapy for over 20 years. She said serial cheaters may be suffering from underlying trauma

In some cases, the forbidden nature of the act itself becomes part of the appeal. Ajjan said there can also be a neurochemical component driving the behavior.

‘They have a higher reward sensitivity, meaning that they’re chasing dopamine, and the behavior – the sexual indiscretion is more like a neurobiological itch that they were struggling to inhibit,’ she explained. ‘They’re just really having a difficult time managing.’

Ajjan, who has practiced couples and sex therapy for more than 20 years, said one of the first clues someone may be cheating is a dramatic change in their behavior.

But contrary to popular belief, that shift is not always negative.

While some people become distant, critical or argumentative, others suddenly become unusually attentive, showering their partner with gifts, compliments and affection in what can appear to be an effort to compensate for their guilt, she explained.

‘It’s a complete shift in the level of affection. So, all of a sudden, they are showering you with gifts. Or they’re intensely, overly affectionate, or giving you strange or unusual compliments,’ Ajjan said.

Years of working with couples have also taught her to recognize another ‘clear indication’ that someone may be cheating: an unexpected change in the couple’s sex life.

Someone who cheats once may show immediate regret, while a serial offender often feels little remorse for the hurt they caused, shifts the blame onto their partner and regrets only being caught

Someone who cheats once may show immediate regret, while a serial offender often feels little remorse for the hurt they caused, shifts the blame onto their partner and regrets only being caught

Sometimes that means a partner suddenly loses interest in intimacy. In other cases, the opposite happens.

‘Your therapy senses are activated when a couple who has had a pretty regular, sexual, or intimate routine [and] there’s a sharp change in that.’

‘They, all of a sudden, have intense sexual energy out of nowhere, or they’re using new sexual moves or techniques. Or showing preferences in things that they never were interested in before, without it being a conversation that you’re having.’

Another subtle warning sign is an unexplained personality shift.

A partner who once seemed easygoing may suddenly become overly critical, picking fights over insignificant issues or constantly pointing out flaws.

Ajjan said this behavior can create emotional distance while allowing the unfaithful partner to justify their own actions by convincing themselves their significant other is somehow to blame.

Infidelity remains one of the most common reasons people seek therapy, according to Ajjan.

However, she said she more often works with individuals trying to understand why they were betrayed than with couples attempting to repair the relationship together.

She added that every relationship defines cheating differently.

While many people view physical affairs as the ultimate betrayal, others are more troubled by what has become known as ‘micro-cheating,’ where someone develops an intimate emotional connection online without ever becoming physically involved.

Ajjan said some clients have even told her they would be less upset if their partner had a one-time sexual encounter than if they discovered months of secret emotional conversations.

‘It’s not for me to tell the client what is and what is not cheating. It’s for me to help them understand how the behavior has impacted them,’ the therapist explained.

‘I could see how each one of those behaviors can be damaging. Damaging to a sense of self, damaging to the relationship. And there are some people who have a partner who’s cheating physically, and to them, it doesn’t impact them,’ she continued.

‘So, in therapy, we often have a saying, if it’s not a problem, it’s not a problem.’

Although discovering an affair can devastate a relationship, Ajjan said it does not always have to signal the end.

In some cases, she has seen couples emerge stronger after confronting the underlying issues that contributed to the betrayal.

A once-easygoing partner may suddenly criticize you or pick petty fights, creating distance while convincing themselves that you are to blame for their betrayal

A once-easygoing partner may suddenly criticize you or pick petty fights, creating distance while convincing themselves that you are to blame for their betrayal

One of the first steps she recommends is what her practice calls ‘temporary transparency.’

That can include open-device policies, sharing locations and being more forthcoming about daily routines while trust is gradually rebuilt.

But she warned against allowing those measures to become permanent surveillance.

‘People do it on their Snapchat, which can be problematic if a partner is on Snapchat, because often that serves as a way to have those quick, inappropriate conversations,’ she explained.

Instead, she said something as simple as leaving phones face-up can help demonstrate there is nothing to hide without creating an unhealthy dependence on constant monitoring.

Ultimately, rebuilding a relationship requires understanding what drove the affair in the first place rather than focusing solely on the act of cheating itself.

‘The indiscretion didn’t come out of nowhere, and it’s not necessarily about the partner, it’s about some kind of internal struggle that the client is dealing with, so spending time to understand what that connection gave the partner, what needs were being felt [and] filled by it.’

Ajjan believes infidelity is far more common than many people realize because those affected often suffer in silence rather than discussing it openly with friends or family.

‘As somebody who sees this happen all the time, don’t suffer in silence. It can feel very shameful to have your partner cheat on you, but it’s happened to more people than we know about, because people aren’t talking about it, so look for your support,’ she said.

‘Get the support you need, whether that’s individual therapy, or whether it’s just you’re within your community. Talk to people, and be open to the possibility, if you want, to repair your relationship, and your partner wants to repair your relationship. It is possible, it’s not easy, but it is possible.’

MEMORISE: Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. – Matthew 10:8 (KJV)

READ: 1 Peter 5:2-4 (KJV)

2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock.

4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 18-21

Open Heaven 9 August 2026 MESSAGE

When God anoints a person, He expects him or her to use the anointing to edify His people and spread the gospel. As we see in today’s Bible reading, God does not want the anointing to be used for personal gain.

I often tell the pastors under my supervision that when God uses them to perform a miracle, they must never demand or expect any reward from the person who received the miracle. In today’s memory verse, Jesus told his disciples that they had received the anointing freely and they should also give it out freely. The One who performs miracles is God, not the people He has anointed. Therefore, you should never feel entitled to anything from anyone who gets a miracle from God through His anointing upon you. Some self-professing ministers of God even go as far as selling olive oil, water, handkerchiefs, and other similar items that they claim have been anointed to those who come to them for prayers. Such conduct reveals that they are hirelings who are looking to exploit God’s sheep rather than being shepherds who should nurture and feed them.

Beloved, you are not to use the anointing that God bestowed on you to manipulate people. Some people demand that they should be called ‘Father in the Lord’ just because God has used them to heal headaches. Being anointed does not qualify anyone to become a lord over others; rather, the anointing ought to be used to serve people. Peter knew that such temptations would arise, which was why he told some church leaders in today’s Bible reading to feed the flock of God willingly and with a ready mind. He also warned them not to use God’s anointing upon their lives for selfish gain.

Jesus Christ, our perfect example, exemplified how to use the anointing God bestows upon a person. He went about doing good and healing those who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38), and also served His followers (John 13:3-15). Beloved, like Jesus, use the anointing you have received from God to bless those He has sent you to; do not use it to exploit or victimise others. Jesus is the Chief Shepherd, and you will give an account of all the things He has given to you one day. Always remember that the anointing you have received from God is a tool to serve Him, edify His people, cater to their needs, and spread the gospel to the ends of the earth.

The anointing is not meant to be used for personal gain but to serve the will and purpose of the One who gave it.

Open Heaven 9 August 2026 HYMN 24 – I Want To Be Like Jesus

1 I want to be like Jesus,
So lowly and so meek;
For no one marked an angry word,
That ever heard Him speak.

2 I want to be like Jesus,
So frequently in prayer;
Alone upon the mountain top,
He met His Father there.

3 I want to be like Jesus,
I never, never find
That He, though persecuted was
To anyone unkind.

4 I want to be like Jesus,
Engaged in doing good;
So that of me it may be said,
“He hath done what he could.”

5 I want to be like Jesus,
Who sweetly said to all,
“Let little children come to Me,”
I would obey the call.

6 But oh, I’m not like Jesus,
As anyone may see;
O gentle Savior, send Thy grace,
And make me like to thee.
