Surprising Travel Essential King Charles Never Leaves Behind (Hint: It’s Not a Toilet Seat)

For a long time now, rumors have been swirling about King Charles and his peculiar travel accessory, a custom toilet seat that supposedly accompanies him wherever he goes.

These intriguing tales first surfaced in Tom Bower’s unauthorized biography, Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, published in 2018. According to Bower’s account, the king’s entourage fills a truck with an assortment of personal items, including his orthopedic bed, select furniture, specially chosen toilet paper, and the infamous personal toilet seat, especially when spending time at the country homes of friends.

Authors such as Tina Brown of The Palace Papers and Christopher Andersen, who penned The King: The Life of Charles III, have either echoed or elaborated on the monarch’s reputed travel desires, particularly the special provisions taken to ensure his comfort.

Additionally, royal historian Robert Jobson has provided insights into situations, such as stays at isolated lodges in Scotland, where Charles’ favored wooden seat was discreetly exchanged for his comfort, often igniting a flurry of activity to revert these changes before Prince Philip needed to use those same facilities.

According to Jobson, that happened at “Craigowan Lodge, a rustic stone cottage about a mile from Balmoral Castle.” King Charles, who was still the Prince of Wales at the time, “couldn’t stand” the “cheap plastic loo seat” at the property, so servants would bring “a wooden one whenever he came to stay.”

This has had royal fans wondering just what else members of the family absolutely must have packed when they travel. Here’s what someone who used to work for the king shared about that.

Grant Harrold was King Charles’ butler for seven years. Harrold’s duties also included valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He looked after Prince William, Catherine, and Prince Harry as well whenever they stayed at Highgrove House. Since leaving the royal household, Harrold has become one of the U.K.’s leading etiquette experts. In 2025, he published his first book, The Royal Butler, which became an Amazon bestseller. He regularly appears on TV offering royal commentary on both current and historic news stories.

Speaking on behalf of Betway, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “The royal family tend to pack for every eventuality. They look at where they’re travelling and prepare for all scenarios, whether that’s warmer weather overseas or the cooler conditions you can get in Scotland.

“One thing King Charles is known to take with him is his watercolour painting set. Painting is a real passion of his, particularly when he’s in Scotland, and it’s something he enjoys doing during his downtime … [Another] item that is always packed is a black tie, just in case there is a death or an occasion requiring mourning attire while they are away. The royal family have always followed the approach of being overdressed rather than underdressed.”

As for those reports that the king travels with his personal toilet seat, Harrold said, “The idea that King Charles travels with his own toilet seat is completely untrue. He packs like anyone else would, taking the essentials he needs for the destination and making sure he is prepared for different situations.”

King Charles also denied the toilet seat allegation when asked about it directly while in Australia.

“Is it true that you carry your own toilet seat when you travel?” a Hit105 host asked the royal at an event in Brisbane.

“My own what?” Charles replied, before adding: “Oh, don’t believe all that crap.”

Infantino Gains Crucial Support Amid Ongoing FIFA Controversy

0

Amidst a storm of criticism over a now-abandoned private investment plan, FIFA president Gianni Infantino finds himself with crucial backing, yet calls for his resignation persistently echo.

At 56, the Italian-Swiss lawyer, who has held his position for a decade, is facing an uncertain future. Despite standout support from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and significant figures within South American football, his tenure remains precarious.

In a bold move, FIFA had projected an opportunity to generate up to US$4.2 billion, hinging on a US$20 billion valuation for a proposed new commercial entity dubbed the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE). This subsidiary was intended to manage prestigious events such as the World Cup and the Club World Cup.

However, past alliances have dissolved.

Once a trusted ally, UEFA, where Infantino fulfilled the role of secretary-general from 2009 to 2016, is now openly clashing with FIFA. Reiterating their stance this past Thursday, UEFA emphasized last Saturday’s declaration, stating they can no longer place their “confidence” in Infantino.

UEFA repeated its threat of boycotting the World Cups and one of its member associations, the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) called for Infantino to go immediately.

“We (NFF) are going to ask the FIFA president to resign now,” said its straight-talking president Lise Klaveness on Friday.

Infantino is nigh on certain not to heed such a call and carry on his campaign to be elected for a fourth and final term in Rabat next March.

Infantino, who had spent the past turbulent week amongst friends in Morocco who are co-hosting the 2030 World Cup, is for the moment the only candidate.

The deadline for nominations is 18 November.

There is also a mechanism whereby an extraordinary FIFA congress can be called and a vote of no confidence in Infantino held.

Klaveness, also a lawyer, would be many people’s choice as a successor, and also the first woman to be head of world football.

However, Klaveness told AFP her personal ambitions had not played a role in demanding Infantino’s resignation.

“We’re not there yet,” said Klaveness.

“For us, it’s now about the issues I just mentioned, and not about particular individuals.

“It would be strange for me to start answering questions about myself, and that goes for everyone,” the 45-year-old added.

‘Public lynching’

North and Central America’s governing body CONCACAF’s president Victor Montagliani has been the most oft-cited name in terms of challenging Infantino.

CONCACAF — which includes the three co-hosts of the recent World Cup — had been, along with UEFA, the most brutal in their criticism of Infantino and called for “a comprehensive reckoning with this presidency”.

However, there has been radio silence from CONCACAF since the latest FIFA statement backing Infantino was issued on Thursday following an emergency meeting of senior directors in Morocco.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) had also been critical of the manner in which the plan had been handled but, like CONCACAF, kept its own counsel following the FIFA statement.

However, Infantino, who has moved on to Colombia where he attended Friday’s inauguration of the country’s hard-right president Abelardo de la Espriella in Cali, is not without support.

Photos released by the Colombian Football Federation show a smiling Infantino standing alongside South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) president Alejandro Dominguez and the president of the Colombian federation, Ramon Jesurun.

CONMEBOL, which includes iconic federations such as Argentina and Brazil, had on Thursday expressed its “concern regarding the repeated unilateral actions taken” by FIFA.

However, on Friday, the CONMEBOL president told journalists “one cannot ignore the great work” done by Infantino.

“We must continue working for football through dialogue; it is not necessary to always agree,” Dominguez added.

Following the powerful Argentine Football Association (AFA) and the Paraguayan federation on Thursday, Infantino also received support Friday from the federations of Venezuela and Ecuador.

Mexico — one of the World Cup co-hosts — also swung behind him.

“The FMF (Mexican Football Federation) supports president Infantino’s leadership,” it said in a statement.

CAF’s executive committee “unanimously reconfirmed its support” for the FIFA president in a statement on Thursday.

The body’s decision will have pleased South Africa’s sports minister Gayton McKenzie, who had urged African football to resist what he called the “public lynching” of Infantino.

Elderly Victim Saved: Two Impersonators Caught in $200K Gold Scheme Targeting Vulnerable Senior

Two men have been taken into custody after allegedly duping an 85-year-old man from Washington, D.C., into surrendering over $200,000 in gold bars. Authorities revealed this during a Friday announcement.

Identified as Chu Lin, 50, from Fresh Meadows, New York, and Xiean Cheng, 42, from Cornelius, North Carolina, the suspects were apprehended when they reportedly arrived at the elderly man’s residence to retrieve the gold, said the Metropolitan Police Department.

The pair are facing charges of second-degree financial fraud.

The fraudulent activity commenced on July 8 when the scammers first reached out to the victim through email, followed by phone calls, all while masquerading as officials from a federal agency, the police detailed.

The scammers allegedly told the victim that funds in his bank account were “in jeopardy of being lost” unless he secured the money by purchasing gold bars and turning them over.

Believing the scheme was legitimate, the victim attempted to purchase more than $200,000 worth of gold bars before the gold dealer recognized the apparent scam and alerted him, police said.

“Thinking that the scam was legitimate, the victim attempted to purchase over $200,000 worth of gold bars and was alerted by the gold dealer that he was being scammed,” police said.

The gold dealer then alerted MPD’s Financial and Cyber Crimes Unit and the FBI, according to authorities.

TikTok Food Critic Christina Hart Opens Up About Unexpected Health Battle with Intestinal Parasite

0

In a candid revelation, a food critic from Tennessee disclosed that she recently endured a grueling battle with cyclosporiasis. This intestinal illness plagued her for nearly a month, tying her to the bathroom out of sheer necessity.

Christina Hart, 29, well-known as the host of “The Locally Owned Series” on TikTok, shared her troubling experience with her sizable audience of almost 160,000. Initially, Hart thought she was dealing with a typical case of food poisoning or perhaps a stomach virus, only to discover that she was indeed infected by the parasite notorious for causing “explosive diarrhea.”

“If I had to describe the experience in one word, it would be ‘miserable’,” Hart confessed in an interview with USA Today.

Enduring a week filled with unsettling stomach issues, Hart finally sought medical attention to identify the root cause.

“I went for tests,” she explained. “I had seen reports about cyclosporiasis, and recognized my symptoms. It made me insist on being tested for it. Sure enough, the results came back positive,” she recounted.

“I was sick for three weeks with it. And then around the three-and-a-half-week mark, I started feeling better.”

Despite seeing the headlines about the “diarrhea parasite” exploding across the US, sickening over 22,000 people, Hart was unaware of how severe the illness could be.

“The timestamps in between having to go (to the bathroom) was just a little extreme for me,” she said.

“That kind of stopped me from just living my everyday life because I was scared to go out in public.”

Hart explained that during her bout of the parasitic illness, she was “scared to go out in public,” because “you lose complete control” over your bodily functions.

“It’s not a fun experience…you will need to be near a restroom if you have it,” she quipped.

After battling with cyclosporiasis for almost a month, Hart now feels “fantastic” and “completely normal,” but stressed that the food-borne illness that is believed to have stemmed from tainted iceberg lettuce is “very uncomfortable.”

She explained that despite not eating much throughout the ordeal, she dealt with severe bloating and lost 17 pounds.

The TikTok food critic initially thought her “explosive diarrhea” diagnosis would impact her social-media career as she had to put her social media show on pause, which was “kind of depressing.”

However, the cyclosporiasis battle ended up launching her toward more “success,” she said.

The “whole parasite thing flipped everything upside down and then launched it into even more success,” the influencer said, adding that a lot of her viewers initially reached out wondering where she went when she stopped posting.

“It’s not the most pleasant thing to be like, ‘Well, I’m stuck in the bathroom,” she told the outlet.

But “a lot of doors kind of opened unexpectedly through this miserable experience, so I’m grateful for it,” Hart added.

“I hated the whole experience, but now I’m finding the blessing in (it).”

The Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed more than 10,000 lab-tested cases of cyclosporiasis across the US, which has claimed the lives of two Michigan residents.

The total number of cases throughout the US, however, is much higher — with many states, including the hardest-hit Wolverine State, using different testing protocols that have indicated much higher figures of the foodborne illness.

Abdul El-Sayed’s Controversial Remarks on Midwest Island

0

Leftist Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed finds himself under fire after comments resurfaced hinting at his disdain for Mackinac Island, a treasured vacation destination in Michigan.

Following his victory over moderate Congresswoman Haley Stevens in Tuesday’s primary, El-Sayed has become a rising star in liberal circles, amassing over $2.3 million in just 48 hours post-win.

Yet, the candidate, who enjoys backing from Bernie Sanders, is engulfed in controversy over a 2018 video that recently went viral, where he expresses dislike for the picturesque island, nestled nearly 300 miles north of Detroit, close to the Canadian frontier.

The video, dating back to his gubernatorial campaign, features El-Sayed lamenting the prospect of spending time on Mackinac Island, where the state governor traditionally gets a seasonal residence.

‘It’s funny,’ he remarked, ‘because, like, if we win, this will be, like, the summer home. I’m just standing here thinking, every time I’ve ever come here, I’ve hated it. Why am I here?’

El-Sayed’s Republican opponent, Mike Rogers, has pounced on the resurfaced gaffe, posting multiple photos of himself and his wife enjoying time on the island.

‘There’s no place like Mackinac,’ wrote Rogers, captioning a photo of himself and his wife enjoying ice cream on the island.

El-Sayed, who Donald Trump has already referred to as a ‘communist loser’ – has clumsily doubled down on the statement, having responded to a social media account that referred to Mackinac as ‘the most American place in Michigan.’

Should a politician’s personal dislike for a state landmark impact their fitness to lead?

‘Not sure about “End Wokeness,” but I don’t think the most “American place in MI” can be a place that…bans cars,’ he said in an apparent reference to Michigan’s history as an auto production powerhouse.

Cars have been banned from the island since the 1890s, with the only option for travel by foot, bicycle or horse-drawn carriage.

El-Sayed lost Mackinac County in the primary to Stevens by four points, though only around 1,400 people voted.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the El-Sayed campaign for comment.

Conservative strategists have long wanted El-Sayed as the opponent for Rogers, who ran unopposed after an early Trump endorsement cleared the GOP field.

El-Sayed is wasting no time, challenging Rogers to five debates.

‘We took on a machine,’ he told supporters in Detroit. ‘The power of our many is greater than the power of their money.’

Stevens telephoned him on Wednesday morning to concede and pledged her support.

Vice President JD Vance also jabbed at El-Sayed while giving remarks at the White House on Wednesday, saying that you never know what a future administration could look like, adding: ‘God forbid you’re gonna have President El-Sayed in three years.’

Michigan’s Senate seat, open because two-term Democrat Gary Peters is retiring, could decide control of the Senate. Republicans have not won a Michigan Senate race since 1994, though Rogers came within a whisker of beating Elissa Slotkin in 2024.

Jessica Anderson, president of the Sentinel Action Fund, which is backing Rogers, said the result ‘should make the choice easy in November,’ pitting ‘a far-Left socialist’ against ‘an America First leader.’

‘This election is no longer just Democrat versus Republican. It is socialism versus solutions,’ she added. Sentinel and its sister group Right Vote have committed a combined $15million to Michigan.

What polling forecasted to be a double-digit thumping turned out to be a squeaker of a result that left nail-biting Democrats anxious and angry. The New York Times estimated El-Sayed would ultimately win by 1.5 percentage points, based on more than 90 percent of the vote that’s been counted.

Even before the primary night call, Republicans signaled they were savoring a fight with El-Sayed, a 41-year-old doctor, born and raised in Michigan.

Rogers was caught on tape saying he would be ‘in good shape’ in a general election against El-Sayed.

And even Democrats impressed with El-Sayed’s raw talent are raising concerns he can pull together a broad enough coalition to win in November.

‘He enters the general election trailing his Republican opponent in the gold standard MI poll, in a state Biden won in 2020 while other Democrats are posting leads over Republicans in states Trump won by double digits,’ wrote Adam Jentleson, a Democratic strategist, forecasting what soon awaits El-Sayed.

‘I believe Abdul can win because he is so talented. But it is also not irrational to worry,’ he added.

El-Sayed’s lead had shriveled through the night as votes crawled in from Wayne County, home to Detroit and the state’s biggest prize.

Rogers is not a novelty opponent. He came within 19,000 votes of Elissa Slotkin in 2024, losing 48.6 to 48.3 – just three-tenths of a point – in the same cycle Trump carried Michigan.

Idaho In-N-Out Shooting: Identifying the 3 Victims and What We Know

0

An Idaho community remains shrouded in grief following a devastating mass shooting that claimed three lives on Saturday. As the days pass, more information emerges about the victims and the tragic events.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — In a recent press conference held on Friday, August 7, authorities disclosed the identities of the three victims gunned down at the newly-opened In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls. The briefing shed light on the shooter’s path through the bustling town and highlighted the actions of courageous bystanders who prevented further tragedy.

The victims were identified as Ashley Garibay, aged 23, from Stockton, California; Dale Schultz, 66, hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah; and Christopher Claunch, 59, a resident of Hagerman, Idaho. All three lost their lives in the August 1st attack that began at the popular In-N-Out restaurant.

Ashley Garibay

Garibay, at 23, was working at the restaurant and is believed to have been the first victim. The assailant reportedly shot her through the drive-thru window, according to investigators.

Soon after the tragic event unfolded, the owner of In-N-Out confirmed through a statement that one of their employees had been killed, adding to the solemnity enveloping the community.

“She was taking care of our most important asset – our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own,” the statement from owner Lynsi Snyder read. “In-N-Out will be mourning with the families and praying for them as they tread through a very painful season.”

A family passing through the town posted a now-viral tribute to Garibay after learning of her death, saying that she brought joy even through their short interaction with her.

“I remembered her smile. I remembered she positively glowed with just kindness and sweetness, and you could tell she genuinely cared about making it just the best experience,” Tiffany Greager said.

The Greagers said Garibay checked on them multiple times during their visit, even bringing their two children In-N-Out hats and stickers. She also took a family photo of them.

“She cared about my family’s experience,” Greager said. “She saw us trying to take a selfie because it’s hard with kids. And she’s like, ‘Oh wait!’ And she put her broom down … and took the time to take a picture for us.”

Dale Schultz

Dale and his wife, Reinette, left Utah for a family reunion in Idaho, making the trip they had made countless times before. But the high school sweethearts never made it to their destination.

Dale, 66, was killed, and his wife was seriously injured in the shooting. The couple was stopped at a Tesla charging station near the restaurant when the gunman approached and fired several rounds directly into the couple’s car, killing Dale and leaving Reinette with severe injuries.

Dale’s family now remembers him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. They described him as the “rock” of their family, someone who cared deeply about his loved ones.

“We couldn’t even see my brother,” Jackson Shultz said. “It’s still hard to wrap my head around that he’s gone.”

Jackson and his wife, Brenda, described Dale as humble, hardworking and always willing to help others.

“I would have said that he was the best of the Schultzes,” Jackson said. “He was a man’s man and the best father that I know to his kids.”

Dale’s family said he was a hero to his daughters and a role model for his grandsons. An Air Force veteran, sculptor, gardener and beekeeper, he was a man of many talents — someone who showed up whenever help was needed.

Christopher Claunch

Claunch, who went by “Toph,” worked in admissions at Renaissance Ranch, a recovery center in Rupert, Idaho, helping people get into treatment.

Clayton Hall, a close friend and former coworker at the ranch, said he learned Claunch, 59, was among the victims Sunday morning, Aug. 2, when a mutual friend called to share the news.

“It was hard. I went into my room with my wife and shed some tears. Still can’t believe that he’s gone,” Hall told KTVB, becoming emotional.

“He was an all-star. He was a rock star, and just there are so many men today that have him to thank for their sobriety, and that’s going to be missed because we need a lot more of that,” Hall said.

Hall said Claunch’s dedication to helping others in recovery came from his own experience. Claunch had lost his first wife in a car accident three months into their marriage, and he battled drugs and alcohol for years before recently celebrating two years of sobriety.

“Once you find that for yourself to help others, that’s pretty selfless,” Hall said. “That’s the most noble thing you can do is help people and achieve long-term sobriety from those vices.”

What we know about the shooting

Twin Falls police previously identified the suspected shooter as 24-year-old Chad Williams, but at the press conference Friday, authorities said they would not use his name going forward, instead referring to him only as the suspect or the gunman in order to avoid increasing his notoriety.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said at the press conference that investigators have not determined a motive for the attack.

Authorities said Williams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being confronted by police officers on the trail.

Hicks said the incident was “by far the most extreme, complex dangerous situation” his officers had ever dealt with.

“Completely unprecedented in our community,” Hicks said.

At the press conference, video was shown providing a timeline of how the incident unfolded. Officials confirmed that numerous good Samaritans jumped into the way of danger to protect others while the shooting was happening, saving the lives of those around them.

One of the good Samaritans was an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper, who was at the restaurant where the shooting began. He fired back at the suspect before helping secure the scene for on-duty officers, Hicks said.

Another person, a civilian, confronted the gunman on the walking trail in one of the video clips shown Friday, allowing others nearby to reach safety.

“In moments like this, courage can take many forms. Sometimes it can be an officer moving toward gunfire,” Hicks said. “Sometimes it can be a citizen distracting a gunman long enough for others to escape.”

US Intel Warns: Russia May Target NATO Ally to Sow Division

0

According to emerging insights from U.S. intelligence, Russian President Vladimir Putin may contemplate an offensive against a NATO ally in the foreseeable future. This potential move is seen as an attempt to dismantle the alliance’s structure formed after World War II and to challenge the core of its collective defense principle, Article 5.

In previous analyses, U.S. intelligence believed Putin would refrain from targeting a NATO member while engaged in the Ukraine conflict. However, with Ukraine gaining ground, indications are emerging from the U.S. and Europe that the Russian leader is looking to test NATO’s resolve. This shift in strategy was highlighted in a report by The Wall Street Journal.

Recent incidents adding to these concerns include a drone striking an apartment building in Romania and cruise missiles landing in Polish territory, both of which are NATO countries.

NATO’s Article 5 is foundational, declaring that an attack against one ally is considered an assault on all member nations.

The assessment said it would likely be a limited attack that could range anywhere from a cyberattack to a small-scale land incursion and would likely be focused on the Baltics or Poland.

The attack could happen any time between this fall and 2029, the assessment said.

“The question mark is how the United States would respond in that case,” Heather Conley, senior fellow with the American Enterprise Institute, told the Journal. “It has always been a goal [of Russia’s] to challenge the credibility of NATO and to separate the United States from its allies.”

The assessment also comes amid claims the United States’ munitions stockpile has been depleted by arms sent to support Ukraine and due to the war in Iran.

Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, however, called those claims false.

Police and forensic investigators examine damage at an apartment building struck by a Russian drone.

“We have everything required to strike at the time and place of the president’s choosing,” Parnell told the Journal. “Across multiple combatant commands, we have already executed successful operations while maintaining a deep, ready arsenal to defend our people and our interests. Any adversary who confuses media noise with American weakness will discover the truth the hard way.”

A land incursion was deemed the least likely because it would trigger Article 5, but it’s unclear what the response would be to something like a cyberattack.

“This has always been NATO’s challenge to respond to a sub-Article 5 attack, and it’s been very true that to this point, NATO allies have preferred not to escalate,” Conley told the Journal.

News Media has reached out to NATO for comment.

Col. Martin O’Donnell, a NATO spokesman, told the Journal, “We are always thinking through and preparing for any number of scenarios. NATO is watching, and we are ready to deter and defend as necessary, which we continue to demonstrate.”

Brewers Prospect Executes Stunning Home Run Robbery, Earning Catch of the Year Honors

0

In a thrilling display of athleticism seen in the Double-A Southern League, one of the most stunning catches of the year in professional baseball unfolded on Friday night.

Mark Coley II, a promising talent in the Brewers’ lineup, dazzled fans by robbing a home run with remarkable flair, thwarting a homer by one of baseball’s top-100 prospects, in what may be one of the most outstanding plays of the 2026 season.

In his fourth Double-A appearance, Eric Hartman—a celebrated Braves outfielder ranked 73rd overall and the second-highest prospect on MLB Pipeline—brought his impressive record from High-A, where he belted 24 homers, and launched a powerful drive deep into right-center field at Synovus Park in Columbus, Georgia.

Stationed at center field, Coley pursued the soaring ball until it neared the wall. Timing his leap perfectly, he reached for the descending shot, making contact with his glove at the critical moment.

However, Coley’s initial attempt wasn’t enough to secure the catch, as he inadvertently knocked the ball onto the warning track in a heart-stopping moment.

As he fell to the dirt, though, Coley caught the ball with his glove while on his backside for what was an incredible F8 putout in the scorebook.

Coley helped save his starter, Manuel Rodriguez, who would have served up back-to-back-to-back home runs had the catch not been made.

It harkened back to Nationals center fielder Jacob Young, who made a circus catch at the wall — using his foot to catch a rebound — last September against the Mets’ Brett Baty.

Dewayne Wise, notably in 2009, saved White Sox hurler Mark Buehrle’s perfect game with a near-identical catch as Coley, though Wise caught his second effort with the bare hand.

Hartman later did get a measure of revenge, doubling to center on a play Coley was unable to catch.

Coley didn’t factor in at the plate for Double-A Biloxi in an 0-for-3 night during a 4-2 loss, but his defense turned plenty of heads.

Ex-NBA Player and Aspiring Senator Shakes Up Sports World with Bold WNBA Draft Bid

Royce White has announced his intent to enter next year’s WNBA Draft, marking him as the second former NBA player to make such a declaration amidst the ongoing debate around transgender athletes in sports.

This development follows Enes Kanter Freedom’s similar announcement. Standing at 6ft 10in, Freedom played in the NBA for 11 seasons and revealed his plans to join the WNBA just last Friday.

White, currently pursuing the Republican Senate nomination in Minnesota, shared with Fox News Digital his new transgender identity and expressed his eagerness to compete alongside talents such as Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham in the upcoming season.

He declared, “I’m transgender. I’m a woman. I identify as sometimes identifying as a woman for the purpose of basketball, professional basketball, so I’ll be declaring for the WNBA draft in 2027 as well.”

Expressing confidence in his abilities, White said, “I think I’d be unstoppable. But I’m a team-first guy. I’m a pass-first kind of player. I do the little things. I led my team in all five major stat categories at Iowa State University, so I do a little bit of everything.”

‘I’ll do whatever the coach needs me to do. I’ll do whatever the girls need me to do.’

‘I don’t want to be discriminated against,’ he continued. ‘I want fair treatment. I’m a young black, hopefully United States Senator, that would like a fair chance to participate as a sometimes-identifying-as-a-transgender-woman athlete.’

He also vowed to wear a wig while he’s playing and said WNBA players will have ‘nightmares… and they should’ about him potentially competing against them.

‘I am 260 pounds, 6ft 8, can palm a men’s basketball probably as easily as any player in history,’ White, 35, continued. ‘I think I had the third biggest hands in the history of the modern NBA Draft combine. I really feel like I’m going to be dominant.’

When asked if he would use the women’s locker room in the WNBA, he replied: ‘Of course. I don’t want to be discriminated against. Why wouldn’t I use the women’s locker room?

‘I have great respect for the skill of women’s basketball. They have to play a much more skilled game because they don’t have some of the physical God-given abilities as the men.

‘So I have great respect for the women’s game but there is a significant difference between biological men and women and we’ve blurred that line, like we’ve blurred many other lines unnecessarily, and I plan to exploit that for my economic and athletic benefit.’

White’s declaration comes amid an ongoing culture war within the WNBA, sparked by Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham after she said in an interview with ESPN that she wants to ‘protect young girls’ from ‘biological men’ in sports.

Freedom’s announcement comes amid the WNBA’s bitter culture war after Sophie Cunningham advocated for restrictions to ‘protect young girls’ from ‘biological men’ in sports

Cunningham’s comments have left fans, players and coaches in the WNBA divided recently

Since making the comments, the sports world has been left divided.

While some, such as Riley Gaines and Stephen A. Smith, have seemingly sided with the Fever star, others have openly criticized her and booed her on the court.

WNBA star Gabby Williams recently claimed she would ‘welcome’ a transgender teammate

Recently, the bitter culture war deepened after Golden State Valkyries star Gabby Williams claimed she would happily welcome a trans player to her team.

‘I think trans rights, right now, is our new battle,’ Williams said in a recent interview, adding: ‘We see people’s trans rights being stripped away from them; there’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in.

‘I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team, anytime,’ Williams added. ‘I don’t think it’s a problem in the world.’

In the wake of Cunningham’s comments, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve made her feelings on the topic extremely clear on Sunday – after opting to wear a ‘Trans Kids Belong’ t-shirt on the sidelines of their game against the Fever.

Freedom shared his own declaration for the WNBA Draft with his fans through a post on social media on Friday afternoon.

In a video, the former New York Knicks and Boston Celtics star said: ‘After careful consideration and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines, I’m officially declaring myself a @WNBA prospect.

‘If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.

A number of political commentators were quick to praise Freedom for his announcement

Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve recently wore a ‘Trans Kids Belong’ t-shirt

‘My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027.

‘I know my presence on the court will stir up strong opinions. I am definitely not here to mock, make fun of, or disrespect any community or personal choices.

‘I’m simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone – the rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for.

‘My team and I are prepared to ensure these guidelines are applied equally, consistently, and without exception, and I look forward to the #WNBA honoring its stated principles. See you at training camp.’

The 34-year-old was previously picked third overall at the 2011 NBA Draft, before enjoying a career that took him to the Jazz, Thunder, Knicks, Trail Blazers and Celtics. He has not played a professional game since 2022.

Freedom’s post quickly went viral on social media as a number of political commentators threw their support behind the NBA veteran and his decision.

Riley Gaines was among those to respond to the post, writing: ‘Genius. Perfect. Waiting to see which WNBA team recruits’.

Similarly, Piers Morgan wrote on X: ‘Brilliant… now let’s see how keen the @WNBA stars are for men to play in their League.’

Clay Travis, meanwhile, who recently offered to pay $10 million to WNBA champions the Las Vegas Aces if they can beat a high school boys basketball team of his choosing, wrote: ‘Amazing. Well done.’

Open Heaven 8 August 2026 TOPIC – Your Salvation Is Not For Sale

MEMORISE: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? – Mark 8:36 (KJV)

READ: Matthew 26:15, 27:3-5 (KJV)

Matthew 26:15
15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

Matthew 27:3-5
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 15-17

Open Heaven 8 August 2026 MESSAGE

In today’s world, many people are selling their salvation for all kinds of mundane things. Some have sold their salvation for money, while others have sold it for fame or positions. There is, however, nothing in this world that is worth trading your salvation for. Anything that a person wants to acquire that will require the person to commit a sin is a trap of the enemy to get the fellow to sell his or her salvation and end up in hell. In Matthew 16:26, Jesus asked His disciples, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” These questions still apply to us today. There is no gain in trading the salvation of your soul for anything because nothing in this world is as precious as your soul.

Esau is an example of someone who traded something precious for something mundane and temporary. In Genesis 25:29-34, he chose to despise his privileged position in his father’s house for just a bowl of pottage. He sold his birthright so cheaply just because he was hungry, and in Hebrews 12:17, the Bible says that he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. In like manner, Judas sold his salvation for money in today’s Bible reading. He threw everything he had learnt from Jesus down the drain for 30 pieces of silver. Whatever lures a person to trade his or her salvation only wants to destroy the fellow. It might offer immediate pleasure and instant gratification, but the devil ultimately aims to use it to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

One way the devil tries to lure believers into trading their salvation is by making them believe that some sins are not as important as others and telling them that such sins do not matter. However, there is no act of sin that is not significant; every sinful act matters in God’s sight. Every little compromise is a step out of His protective and merciful covering. Ecclesiastes 10:8 says that a serpent will bite whoever breaks a hedge. In other words, sin exposes a fellow to the attack of the enemy.

Beloved, do not toy with sin because it only offers a one-way ticket to hell. I pray that you will not trade the salvation of your soul for anything in the world, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 8 August 2026 KEY POINT

Nothing is worth losing the salvation of your soul over.

Open Heaven 8 August 2026 HYMN 14 – O What A Wonderful, Wonderful Day

1 O what a wonderful, wonderful day
Day I will never forget;
After I’d wandered in darkness away
Jesus my Saviour I met
O what a tender, compassionate friend
He met the need of my heart;
Shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling,
He made all the darkness depart!

Refrain:
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul
When at the cross my Saviour made me whole
My sins were washed away, and my night was turned to day
Heaven came down and glory tilled my soul

2 Born of the Spirit with life from above
Into God’s fam’ly divine
Justified fully thru Calvary’s love
O what a standing is mine
And the transaction so quickly was made
When as a sinner I came
Took of the offer of grace He did proffer
He saved me, O praise His dear name

3 Now I’ve hope that will surely endure
After the passing of time;
I have a future in Heaven for sure
There in those mansions sublime
And it’s because of that wonderful day
When at the cross I believed;
Riches eternal and blessings supernal
From His precious hand received.
