Savannah Guthrie’s heartfelt appeal on Monday may mark a fresh communication attempt, as she directly addressed the individual who abducted her mother over 25 weeks ago. Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, mysteriously disappeared from her residence in Arizona.

Through an emotional Instagram post, she revealed the family’s ongoing turmoil, expressing, “our family is in agony,” adding an assurance that they “will never stop looking for her.” NBC’s Erin McLaughlin noted on Tuesday that this new message might align with a prospective novel means of communication.

“It’s uncertain what prompted Savannah to release this message at this time, but it might correlate with a potential new connection. Language experts suggest that her words seem directed at the perpetrator, although law enforcement hasn’t shared any recent developments publicly,” McLaughlin reported.

In the video shared Monday, Savannah Guthrie implored the captors of her mother to “Do the right thing now.”

“Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her,” she said. “I’m coming on today with a very specific message. It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part, and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts. The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place,” Savannah Guthrie said. “I truly believe it is never too late to do right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end. For all of us. No matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”

Savannah Guthrie wasn’t on the “Today” show on Tuesday, as she’s filming for NBC’s new prime-time TV game show, “Wordle.” She previously said in June that “I’m not involved in our coverage, but I can’t pretend I’m not here.”

A federal source close to the Nancy Guthrie investigation told Fox News that Savannah Guthrie was in communication with law enforcement about the video, which was her first message in weeks.

The family is asking anyone with information to dial 1-800-CALL-FBI and claim a reward of over $1 million. 

A separate reward is available for information leading to an arrest, and tips can be submitted anonymously through Tucson’s Crime Stoppers affiliate at 520-88-CRIME.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was taken from her Catalina Foothills home in Tucson in the early morning hours of Feb. 1, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.

No suspects have been identified publicly.

Jason Pack, a retired FBI agent, told News Media Savannah Guthrie’s wording stood out to him, but cautioned that only investigators have the full picture:

1. For six months, the family asked for a person, in phrases like “bring her home” and “return her to us,” Pack said. This week, Savannah Guthrie said, “Tell us where to look for her.” According to Pack, “where to look is not the same as bring her back,” though he stressed he would not speculate on what the shift means.
2. In February, the family cast wide on purpose, addressing “whoever has her, or knows where she is,” Pack said. This week’s message reads as if written toward a single person, he said, pointing to the line, “I know that you have tried to do things the right way.” Six months in, Pack said, the family “may believe they know more about who is listening.”
3. Pack said he kept returning to the phrase “We have done our part,” calling it five words with no accusation in them. He described it as landing “like a receipt,” a statement that the family had held up its end.
4. Every prior appeal carried an action item, whether the reward or the anonymous tip line, Pack said. This one asks the public to “tell us,” meaning the family directly. “That is a departure,” he said, “and departures are worth marking.”

ESPN’s own Joe Buck let slip some juicy details about the star-studded wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce held on July 3, despite feeling like they were still under a non-disclosure agreement.

In his appearance on the “Starkville” podcast Saturday, Buck shared heartfelt memories of the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end tearing up at the sight of Swift — all while recalling rubbing shoulders with several celebrities at the grand affair set in Madison Square Garden.

“Their vows were lengthy,” noted Buck, who was in attendance with his wife, ESPN NFL reporter Michelle Beisner-Buck. “They were crafted beautifully — humorous, touching, and profoundly emotional.”

“Travis was overcome with emotion as he watched his nieces walk down the specially constructed ramp. When Taylor made her entrance, he was even more moved.”

“… Then, I think when they took everyone’s phone and everyone could relax .. and I’m standing next to [singer] Beck, who’s an artist I love … watching Paul McCartney sing ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ for the first time publicly since 1964. It was a pinch-yourself kind of night and I’m glad we got to go.”

Buck also recalled the “star quality” in the room and a conversation he had with actor Tom Cruise.

“I dont know. It feels like were supposed to still be in the NDA mode. I wouldn’t add much, other than I sat at the wedding … I’m sitting there in front of [actor] Brad Pitt, next to [actress] Scarlett Johansson, behind [actor] Hugh Grant and two rows behind Paul McCartney and [actor] Tom Hanks.”

“It was 1000 people, legitimately … It was pretty surreal and the star quality, obviously.

“When you walk in, and for me being 57-years-old, to get to talk to [actor] Tom Cruise for 20 minutes was better than any part of the entire night to me, other than watching them get married.”

Swift and Kelce kept their wedding under wraps, having yet to share photos of the nuptials.

The bride and groom both wore Christian Dior Haute Couture looks and worked in close collaboration with creative director Jonathan Anderson, who designed the pieces in Paris, Swift’s rep confirmed in a statement.

Kelce and Swift, both 36, nearly broke the internet last August when they announced their engagement.

In a peculiar incident in Georgia, a six-year-old boy with autism found himself suspended from school for shaping his sandwich into a gun and pretending to aim it at a peer, according to his family.

John Medina, who attends first grade at Sara Harp Minter Elementary in Fayette County, was expelled last March when school staff witnessed the lunchtime scene, his parents and school documentation confirm. The story was reported by Atlanta News First.

Recalling the day, Kristin Medina, the boy’s mother, remembered receiving a call from the school informing her that her son could no longer return following the playful incident with his lunch.

“It’s just baffling,” Kristin expressed to the news outlet, adding her concerns that the school may not have fully taken into account her son’s autism before reaching a decision to suspend him.

Despite the incident being over a year old, Kristin is determined to bring it back into the spotlight, hoping it might encourage school administrators to develop a more nuanced understanding of the behaviors of children with disabilities.

According to school records obtained by the outlet, more than two dozen disciplinary actions have been issued to John, including some that involved him kicking and punching other students during recess. 

The school disciplined John at least 33 times, including 14 suspensions, since 2023, the records stated. 

John was previously suspended for pointing a water bottle at someone else while making gun noises, and he was reprimanded for drawing a pilgrim shooting a turkey, records showed. 

Kristin said her son became fascinated with guns after meeting a police officer, she told the outlet. 

She and her husband have continued to fight for their son, and went on to hire Donna Reynolds, a former special education director who worked in a different school district in the state, to represent them during meetings with the Fayette County School District. 

According to Reynolds, John’s most recent incident could have happened even if he weren’t autistic. 

‘I don’t think a six-year-old without autism would understand that that’s not appropriate. 

‘They make their fingers into a gun. They pick up sticks and make them into guns,’ she told the publication. 

She strongly believes that school districts everywhere need to fully understand students before they make decisions. 

‘They need to look at the whole picture. You need to look at his age. You need to look at his disability,’ she said. 

‘You need to look at past behavior, and you need to determine whether this is more of a teaching moment or is this something that really needs discipline, and is that discipline then going to change the behavior?’ 

During a recent board of education meeting, several local parents took to the podium to share their frustrations about how they think their disabled children are not being treated fairly by district administrators. 

They spoke directly to Fayette County Schools Superintendent Jonathan Patterson and his colleagues before the meeting ended. 

After they did so, an Atlanta News First reporter approached Patterson, but a law enforcement officer stepped in and said that he needed to make an appointment to speak with him. 

Before that, the journalist reached out several times to Patterson but never got a response, the outlet stated. 

Eventually, Patterson shared a brief statement that read: ‘We’re committed to meeting parents to try to work through these challenging situations that maybe we agree on, that maybe we don’t agree on, but we’re committed to keep coming back to the table and trying to resolve those things.’ 

Meanwhile, since the suspension, Kristin said her young son has been struggling. 

‘I think he feels like he’s a bad kid. There were definitely times when he would come home and say “I’m a bad kid” and that’s really hard to hear as a mom,’ the worried mother said. 

When contacted by the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for Fayette County Public Schools made a statement on behalf of Paterson. 

‘After careful consideration, we have decided that we will not be providing a statement or responding to questions regarding this matter,’ they said.
