When Will ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Be Available for Streaming on Disney+?

0

Following a lukewarm performance at the box office, the latest Star Wars installment, The Mandalorian and Grogu, is set to make its digital debut. Starting tomorrow, fans can purchase or rent this film on various platforms.

Directed by Jon Favreau, who gained fame with his work on the Iron Man series, this film continues the saga initiated by the hit Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. Running for three successful seasons from 2019 to 2023, the series followed the adventures of a lone bounty hunter, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, as he safeguards a Force-sensitive creature named Grogu—endearingly known as Baby Yoda—against the lingering threat of Imperial forces. The movie picks up where the series concluded, charting the continued adventures of Din Djarin (Pascal) and his young protégé Grogu. Together, they team up with the New Republic to undertake a daring mission to rescue Rotta the Hutt, played by Jeremy Allen White of The Bear.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Brendan Wayne, Lateef Crowder, and Sigourney Weaver, The Mandalorian and Grogu—retitled to Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu post-release—amassed around $342 million globally. Despite turning a profit against its estimated $165 million production budget, it stands as the lowest-grossing live-action Star Wars film to date. However, there is hope that its availability for home viewing will entice more fans to experience the film.

Before deciding on the $30 rental fee for the digital release of Mando and Grogu’s escapades, it’s worth noting that The Mandalorian and Grogu is expected to stream for free on Disney+ before the year concludes.

Where to watch The Mandalorian and Grogu movie on streaming:

Starting at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (or 9 p.m. Pacific Time on July 20), viewers can buy The Mandalorian and Grogu digitally on platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home. Pricing might differ across services—on Amazon Prime, the purchase is set at $29.99, while renting costs $24.99.

The Mandalorian and Grogu will also be released on DVD, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray on August 26, 2026. The physical and digital release will come with bonus features including behind-the-scenes featurettes and an audio commentary with director Jon Favreau.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but because it is a Disney movie, we do expect to see The Mandalorian and Grogu streaming on Disney+ before the end of the year.

Disney+ offers a number of subscription options, so you can find the one that works for you. With ads, a subscription costs $11.99/month; without ads, it’s $18.99/month or $189.99/year.

There are also Disney+ bundles with Hulu, HBO Max, and ESPN+, so you can subscribe to up to three services at once and save over 40% every month. The bundles are available in a few different configurations, starting at $11.99/month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, and going up to $32.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max ad-free.

When will The Mandalorian and Grogu be streaming free on Disney Plus?

The Mandalorian and Grogu will likely stream on Disney+ in the next two-to-four months, because it is a Disney movie. All the new Disney theatrical movies end up streaming on Disney+, often about three to six months after opening in theaters.

While The Mandalorian and Grogu Disney+ release date has not yet been announced, we can make an educated guess as to when the movie will be streaming based on previous Disney releases.

Another recent big Disney movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash was released on premium video-on-demand about three months after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Disney+ a little over six months after opening in theaters. If The Mandalorian and Grogu follows a similar release strategy, you may see The Mandalorian and Grogu streaming on Disney+ around November 2026. That said, The Mandalorian and Grogu came to digital a full month faster than the last Avatar film did, so maybe you’ll see The Mandalorian and Grogu on Disney+ sooner, too, around October 2026.

That said, The Mandalorian and Grogu movie Disney+ release date has not yet officially been announced. This is all guesswork, so take it with a grain of salt. For now, if you want to watch The Mandalorian and Grogu at home, you can buy or rent a digital copy of the movie.

Massive Surge in Injured US Troops from Covert Iran Attacks Revealed

0

In a series of attacks last week, dozens of U.S. military personnel sustained injuries following three Iranian strikes on Jordan. This preceded a separate incident on Friday, which tragically resulted in the deaths of two American soldiers and the disappearance of another.

Though these strikes also resulted in damage to several U.S. helicopters, the Pentagon chose not to disclose the incidents publicly. However, multiple officials later confirmed the attacks to the New York Times on Monday.

Last week, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it was responding to Iranian aggression targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Notably, this announcement omitted any reference to the strikes against American forces stationed in Jordan.

This situation highlights a delicate balance for the Pentagon between maintaining the secrecy required for operational security and fulfilling its duty to keep the public informed about military engagements.

It should be noted that CENTCOM is under no obligation to release details about injuries sustained by U.S. troops.

Pentagon officials told the Times that many of the injuries were not severe and that revealing details about the wounded could help to serve Iran as it carries out other attacks on bases which house thousands of US troops.

More than 400 troops have been injured in the conflict since the US and Israel launched strikes against Iran on February 28. The Pentagon has not updated the total wounded in several weeks.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell rejected the suggestion it was covering up injuries as ‘baseless and malicious accusations’ and slammed the ‘partisan hacks at the New York Times who are desperate to smear America’s military.’

‘Claims of concealment are fabrications meant to further distress the American people in the wake of three service members killed in action. Disgusting behavior, even for the New York Times,’ said Parnell.

‘In fact, US military casualty information is publicly available and regularly updated online on the Defense Casualty Analysis System for everyone, including the media, to review.

‘Injuries in the military encompass everything from minor sprained ankles during routine training to incidents entirely unrelated to combat operations. Cherry-picking raw numbers without context paints a deliberately misleading and incomplete picture.’

First Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, and Private Isabella Gonzales, 19, were killed after an attack on an American air base in Jordan on Friday – the first US troops killed in the conflict with Iran since March, bringing the death toll to 17.

Central Command is also working to establish whether remains found close to the devastated Jordan base belong to a fourth service member who had been listed as missing.

A third US soldier was killed in northern Iraq on Saturday during the controlled detonation of an unexploded Iranian drone. The Pentagon has not released the soldier’s identity.

As American deaths continue climbing, Trump’s confrontation with Iran is spiraling toward a far wider conflict, with the US unleashing its ninth consecutive wave of strikes.

The President, speaking at Joint Base Andrews on Sunday night after attending the World Cup final, said the US had ‘hit them very hard again’ in a fresh barrage launched to avenge the fallen soldiers.

Iran hit back on Monday morning, launching explosive-laden suicide drones at critical infrastructure in Kuwait, according to the Kuwaiti military.

Previously, Trump said the deaths of the two troops are ‘a very sad thing.’

The President also told NewsNation on Sunday that he ‘couldn’t care less’ if Iran no longer abides by the peace agreement signed last month.

The overnight bombardment pounded Iranian command centers, air defenses, naval assets, coastal surveillance posts and missile, drone and communications sites.

The US is trying to cripple Tehran’s ability to menace commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway responsible for carrying one-fifth of all global oil.

Fighting resumed last week after America accused Iran of violating the Memorandum of Understanding by attacking oil tankers passing through the Persian Gulf.

The US Navy has also hit back at Iranian aggression, reimposing a blockade on all of the regime’s ports and seizing several of its ships.

‘The US is planning for a wider war,’ said one American official familiar to the Washington Post. The source noted that the Pentagon was boosting the number of aircraft in the region.

The official cautioned that the expanded operation would be limited because US stocks of air-defense and long-range weapons are running low, and battle damage was restricting how many extra troops and warplanes can be funneled into the region.

Prince Harry Debunks Soccer Snobbery Myths

Prince Harry recently refuted claims suggesting he was “too posh” to play soccer.

Prince Harry has given his verdict on soccer

Prince Harry shares his thoughts on soccer

The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex expressed his appreciation for soccer during a chat on James Corden’s Fox Sports show. While reminiscing, he mentioned his skills in “football” during his junior school days. However, upon entering the prestigious Eton College, he found himself relegated to the “E team.”

Show host James teased his pal by saying: “I thought you went to a school that was too posh to play soccer?”

Harry then hit back at his fellow Brit by joking: “Well, I played football. Why are you calling it soccer? … It was such a posh school that everything was an option. There was a football team.”

Mel C Ties the Knot with Chris Dingwall in Stunning Victoria Beckham Designs

Mel C and Dingwall’s romantic journey began three years ago after connecting through the exclusive dating app Raya. Their first encounter wasn’t just anywhere—it happened in Australia, also fondly known as The Land Down Under, setting the stage for a blossoming relationship.

“There was an electric spark from the very start,” Mel C shared enthusiastically. “Meeting Chris at 49 came at a time when I felt truly at peace with myself. Our initial date in Australia was the beginning, and since then, keeping us apart has been quite the challenge.”

This undeniable connection paved the way for a monumental moment last July. While savoring a serene getaway in Mallorca, the producer seized the perfect opportunity to propose. For Mel C, the decision to say yes was effortless.

“The proposal was intimate and perfect, just the two of us,” she fondly recalled. “Chris was amazed that I was surprised, but I truly was left astonished.”

Even though she hadn’t anticipated it, the moment Chris proposed, Mel C felt an overwhelming certainty. “Right away, I knew it was the right choice,” she reflected. “Entering my 50s has been an enlightening journey—I’m more comfortable in my own skin than ever. I realized this chapter is part of my story. At this stage of life, there’s a desire to embrace every experience fully.”

Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez Reignite Romance at Electrifying NYC Concert

Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez have reignited their romance, proudly showcasing their relationship for all to see.

Over the weekend, Alvarez made a special appearance at Grande’s New York City concert, which is part of her much-anticipated “Eternal Sunshine” tour.

In a video that quickly gained traction on TikTok, the 35-year-old dancer was captured joining in on the atmosphere, lighting up the arena with his phone as he swayed rhythmically to the tune of “Imperfect for You” on Saturday evening.

Alvarez opted for a low-key approach, donning a blue flannel and a black hat to blend in with the crowd.

The heartwarming display of support did not go unnoticed by fans on social media, who flooded the comments with praise for both Alvarez’s loyalty and his dance moves.

“I be forgetting that he was her BACKUP DANCER. he has rhythm,” one fan wrote, while many praised him for seemingly recording some of his partner’s performance.

Alvarez’s surprise concert appearance came two days after he and Grande, 33, engaged in Central Park PDA.

The pair cozied up on Thursday, putting their arms around each other on a stroll.

The Grammy winner initially dated Alvarez between 2015 and 2016 — going on to get engaged to Pete Davidson, marry Dalton Gomez and date Ethan Slater.

Page Six confirmed last week that Grande and her ex have “rekindled things” but aren’t “rushing back into the relationship.”

Instead, we hear they are “enjoying spending time together again and seeing where things go without putting too much pressure on the relationship.”

A source told us, “She has a lot on her plate at the moment and is still incredibly busy with her tour schedule, so they’re taking things one step at a time.

“Ricky has remained close with Ariana’s family over the years,” the insider added. “That’s something she really appreciates. He has also made an effort to show up and support her while she’s on tour, which hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

Alvarez, notably, made headlines for his presence at a Texas show in June, which coincided with Grande changing “Thank U, Next” lyrics about him.

Instead of saying their relationship makes her “laugh,” the “Victorious” alum sang that he has “still got [her] back.”

They were subsequently spotted out and about on the Fourth of July.

News broke last month that Grande and Slater, 34, are over — and the Broadway star reportedly found out through mutual friends that his “Wicked” co-star is back with Alvarez.

While Poppy admitted that she would have been happy with any gender of baby, as she comes from a family of girls, the news was particularly welcome.

She added: ‘Obviously, I would have been fine with either and when I was younger I always thought when I get pregnant, I wouldn’t find out, but the second we got told we could find out, we did.

‘I’m so excited. I come from all girls, we’re very girl heavy. Girls are great.’

The impending arrival will have more than just her mum for style inspiration, but her aunt, Cara, who is just as excited to meet the baby.

Poppy said of their Christmas family time: ‘We were all in New York, with each other and with the bump and there was a lot of talking to the bump, stroking the bump. They’re just elated.’

The model admitted that becoming a mum a little later in life has also made the experience all the more special.

Poppy said: ‘It just feels like such an extraordinary privilege to be able to do this, to be able to have a baby at this age and at this time.’

The star did not consider the possibility that she was pregnant until London Fashion Week when she realised her clothes were tighter than usual.

A pregnancy test shortly after confirmed the happy news.

Discover the Most Popular Dog Names in Tennessee & Beyond

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — In a fascinating revelation from 2025 research by the American Veterinary Medical Association, it is noted that over 56 million homes across the United States welcome at least one furry friend. It may come as no surprise that a recent study from U.S. News & World Report has found numerous dogs across various states sharing common names.

In a survey of dog names most frequently heard in vet clinics nationwide, the top contenders were none other than Bella, Luna, and Max.

Bella and Luna have dominated the list, persistently taking turns at the number one and two spots since 2023, according to U.S. News & World Report. These names resonate in multilingual households as “luna” translates to moon, and “bella” means beautiful or pretty in numerous major languages. Meanwhile, Max—a name made famous by canine characters in beloved animated films—nudged its way up from last year’s fourth place to claim the third spot this year.

Completing the top five are the timeless picks Coco and Daisy. The study notes that Coco’s charm has been immortalized by poodles in popular media for years, while the name Daisy has graced many a dog on the silver screen since the 1930s.

U.S. News & World Report shared more nationwide naming trends in its top 100, from characters and classics to foods and mythological figures. However, Bella still took the No. 1 spot in 25 states and tied for first in two others.

“In fact, only five states have a most popular name (or a tie for the most popular name) that doesn’t make the nationwide top 10: Hawaii, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota and Vermont,” the report said. “Furthermore, only three states have a top-three name that is unique enough not to appear in the national top 100: Hawaii, Montana and Wyoming.”

Not only did Tennessee share the same top three dog names as the U.S. overall, but they were ranked in the same exact order: Bella at No. 1, Luna at No. 2, and Max at No. 3.

Kentucky also had the same trio of dog names, but Luna and Max swapped places with regard to their popularity.

Life-Changing Diagnosis After 10kg Loss Transforms Diet Choices

0

Ultra-processed foods (UPFs) have become a staple in our meals, accounting for up to half of our calorie intake. While some of these foods offer essential nutrients necessary for a well-rounded diet, others may pose risks to major organs throughout the body. So, what exactly are UPFs, and do they deserve their bad reputation?

Life was simpler before I discovered I had coeliac disease.

I never had to meticulously examine food labels or stock up on snacks for extended outings. Questions about food handling and contamination never crossed my mind when dining out.

In essence, my life was filled with more impromptu decisions and freedom.

Now, whenever food is involved—whether it’s traveling, social gatherings, or casual visits to friends and family—things have become much more intricate.

Coeliac disease is a chronic autoimmune disease triggered by eating gluten. When someone with coeliac disease eats gluten, their immune system mistakes it for a threat and attacks their own body in response, causing damage over time.

The only known way to manage this is a lifelong gluten-free diet.

My symptoms started in early 2020 when I was 31 and caught a gastro bug, which I believe acted as a trigger for my genetic susceptibility to the disease.

I started developing extreme pain after eating certain foods. Then I experienced rapid weight loss, losing around 10kg in under 12 months without changing my diet or my exercise routines.

I had other debilitating symptoms too, including headaches, migraines, stomach cramps, mouth ulcers, brain fog, constipation, diarrhoea, joint inflammation, back pain, anxiety and depression — the list goes on.

A search for answers

I was sent for every possible test: a stool sample, ultrasound, MRI, CT and full blood work — almost all returning normal results.

Despite all these symptoms, nobody could find the cause.

I felt completely exhausted, both mentally and physically.

With all the test results returning as normal, my wife and I considered the possibility that all these symptoms might be in my head.

a smiling man wearing a hospital gown and cap lies in a hospital bed giving a 'thumbs-up' sign with his right hand.

Eventually, a friend suggested I undergo a test for coeliac disease, as she’d had similar symptoms and been diagnosed with it the year prior.

I ran it by my doctor, who agreed.

I got the test, and my results were off the chart. I then had a biopsy via endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis.

And finally, after a year of unrelenting sickness and pain, I had an answer.

A new way of living

It’s been a serious learning process; not worrying about what I put into my body for three decades and then suddenly having an extreme dietary restriction is a massive adjustment.

One consequence of always checking the ingredients on labels for gluten is that you quickly learn what’s in processed and ultra-processed foods.

Ultra-processed foods are rife in the gluten-free category, and there are often a lot of processed additives to make gluten-free alternatives sweeter and give them a more appealing texture and sensation when eaten.

My family and I sometimes eat processed and ultra-processed foods (gluten-free or gluten-containing) because they’re convenient.

As two full-time working parents, we don’t have time to cook every day for the family. We also can’t afford to buy and make everything from scratch, but we do when we’re able to.

I also need safe, on-the-go snacks, which means we often buy processed or ultra-processed foods to get me to the next meal.

But with everything, moderation is key, and I know I should have a whole-food diet most of the time.

The way I see it, if you’re offsetting the occasional processed food with an otherwise healthy diet and keeping active, that’s okay.

‘Good or bad’ food?

My wife and I share the cooking load and have both learned how to cook gluten-free alternatives at home. She is my biggest advocate, has been so supportive in this journey, and often asks about cross-contamination protocols when we dine out together.

She and our two daughters still eat gluten, but dinners are always gluten-free when we eat together. And it’s important our daughters still eat gluten regularly so we can have them accurately tested for coeliac disease in the future.

a man and woman both wearing glasses smiling in front of the sydney harbour

Both our girls are starting to ask: “Is this food good or bad for us?”

I believe having the language “a naughty treat” or “bad food” can instil both fear and anxiety around food, which is something people with dietary restrictions like coeliac disease experience daily.

This type of language can also set kids up to become overly focused on body image and weight and can even lead to the beginnings of disordered eating.

So, my wife and I are doing our best to encourage a broader view of how our girls think about food.

Food anxiety

Coeliac disease has been a tricky diagnosis for me to get my head around.

The gluten-free diet itself is not difficult — there are now gluten-free substitutes for many things.

For me, the hard part stems from society’s lack of awareness of what the disease really is.

I now have anxiety around food when eating out at cafes, restaurants and even at family and friends’ places — partly because ‘gluten-free’ often gets classed within fad diet culture, and that we coeliacs are often just seen as being fussy eaters.

But it’s not a choice for us — eating gluten damages our gut and puts us at greater risk of things like osteoporosis and gastrointestinal cancers; there may even be a link with recurrent miscarriage and fertility issues.

The silver linings

However, there are a lot of positive things to come out of my coeliac disease diagnosis.

For one, I have an answer to all those horrible symptoms I was experiencing pre-diagnosis. A gluten-free diet manages this disease, and I’m glad I don’t have to take medications for it.

I’ve also become a decent cook, and it’s expanded my knowledge and passion for food.

Going on this health journey has also led me to adopt better lifestyle habits, which have helped my mental and physical health.

I’ve also connected with the awesome gluten-free community, which I’ll be forever grateful for.

Texas Democratic House Candidate Faces Backlash Over Disturbing Spanish-Language Social Media Messages

0

WASHINGTON — In a development stirring the political scene, Bobby Pulido, a candidate representing Texas House Democrats, has come under scrutiny for his controversial social media activity. According to a review by The Post, Pulido solicited explicit photos from women and discussed themes related to pornography online.

The 55-year-old Pulido, who holds the accolade of a Latin Grammy and once captivated audiences with a bold music video portrayal of a public masturbator, is ambitiously trying to dethrone Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-Texas) in Texas’s contentious 15th Congressional District.

“I want a photo of your tit signed by @grupo_pesado,” Pulido wrote in response to a since-deleted post on Twitter (now X) in 2014, referencing a Mexico-based band with whom he has collaborated in the past.

In an eyebrow-raising exchange, Pulido responded to being tagged in a social media post filled with cheeky banter: “f—ing idiot, I love you little buddy,” highlighting his approachable, albeit controversial, online persona.

That exchange followed a shirtless image Pulido posted of himself with the English-translated caption, “I read you guys with this face, friends…”

Pulido’s engaging social media presence can be traced back further. About a year before, he sparked attention by responding to a post where a user complimented a “sexy” photo of him, demonstrating his willingness to court the limelight.

The user wrote, “I liked your photo, it looks really hot, but what the f—, or rather too sexy for my taste alone, just shove it in me, my love,” according to Pulido’s quoting of them in a 2013 tweet, per a translation.

The user, “@AlieenLugo,” has since deleted their account. Ten days later, Pulido replied with “gracias! Besos,” or, “Thanks! Kisses.”

Amidst the swirling controversy, Pulido’s campaign team has remained tight-lipped. They have neither confirmed nor clarified any additional interactions that might have occurred as a result of these exchanges, leaving room for speculation as his congressional campaign heats up.

The candidate has found himself in hot water over other suggestive social media posts to and about women.

In 2016, for example, he remarked on a photo of Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton standing next to actress Chloë Grace Moretz, both of whom were holding donuts.

“Girl, this is what happens to you after a natural childbirth…,” Pulido wrote, according to a Mediate report from February.

The Democrat deleted that tweet after the outlet contacted his campaign about it.

Pulido also mused that “It’s impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn,” and informed his followers that “there’s a website called youporn [sic] and that it’s cool.”

The Tejano music star also shared a link to the porn site XVideos, riffing on “homemade porn while sleep-deprived.”

Those posts were scrubbed by his team after his campaign was asked about them. But The Post found another tweet about explicit content that is still up.

“We all have that friend who’s always sending porn via WhatsApp. Thanks, but an occasional photo or video is enough for me,” Pulido tweeted on July 4, 2018, per a translation.

Beyond his suggestive tweets, Pulido has faced controversy over his ties to his longtime former bandmate Frankie Caballero, who was convicted of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in 2014.

During an appearance on a YouTube show with comedian Jose Luis Zagar in 2019, Pulido boasted about how he went to get Caballero “out of jail,” while skipping over details of the alleged offenses.

As The Post previously reported, Pulido continued to tour with Caballero after his release from prison following a four-year sentence.

Pulido’s spokesperson previously told The Post that the congressional hopeful didn’t post “Caballero’s bail or pick him up from jail or prison” and was just riffing to Zagar about how he gave Caballero a chance to perform.

Court records also indicate that Caballero’s son, Frankie Jr., pleaded guilty in 2002 to sexually abusing a 14-year-old. Like his father, Caballero Jr., had ties to Pulido, describing himself as having “grown up touring” with the aspiring congressman.

In response to inquiries from The Post about his recently unearthed social media comments, Pulido put out a video message to his fans, calling questions about his past remarks “recycled tabloid nonsense.”

“Years ago, I joked around with my fans on Twitter, mostly in Spanish. Look, I’m from South Texas, and Mexican humor is sarcastic, brutal, and full of slang that doesn’t necessarily survive the Google Translate test,” he said.

“Some of these old tweets, they went too far, that’s my bad, and I’ve apologized.”

Parasite Outbreak Puzzle Intensifies: Unraveling the Elusive Source

0

The quest to identify the cause of a widespread diarrhea-inducing parasite outbreak that has spanned multiple states continues, as official sources reveal that the suspected origin has tested negative for the pathogen in question.

On Sunday, the FDA confirmed that lettuce from Taylor Farms, previously believed to be the culprit of the cyclosporiasis outbreak, showed a false-positive result for cyclospora, the parasite responsible for this infection.

Last Friday, Taylor Farms proactively announced a recall of its lettuce cultivated in Mexico. This move came amid growing concerns as the CDC and FDA scrutinized the shredded lettuce that the company delivered to Taco Bell outlets across the U.S. as a potential source of the health scare.

The company stated that none of its products were linked to the outbreak. Nevertheless, ‘based on information provided yesterday by the FDA, Taylor Farms de Mexico is voluntarily withdrawing all iceberg lettuce originating from central Mexico.’

In an update released on Sunday, the FDA noted that a sample examination of the lettuce supplied by the company had initially detected a positive result for cyclospora on July 18.

However, ‘due to the complexity in detection of cyclospora, FDA laboratory experts re-reviewed the sample results and have concluded that the finding does not represent true amplification and should be considered a false positive.’

The statement continued: ‘FDA has notified Taylor Farms and continues working with the firm to ensure product implicated in this outbreak has been removed from the market. FDA and state partners continue to collect and analyze product samples.

‘As of July 19, 2026, there are no confirmed positive sample results for product testing for cyclospora.’

Following the FDA’s announcement, Taylor Farms said in a statement on Sunday: ‘Yesterday, FDA informed Taylor Fresh Foods that one of its iceberg lettuce products from central Mexico had a “confirmed positive” test for cyclospora.

‘Today, we were informed that FDA made a mistake, and this was a false positive. To be clear, at this moment, FDA has not identified a single positive product test result for cyclospora.’

No update was given on Taco Bell’s potential role in the outbreak.

On Thursday, the CDC had posted an update to the cyclosporiasis outbreak investigation, stating tracing had linked the illnesses to shredded iceberg lettuce from a single supplier that had been used at Taco Bell restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia.

Taco Bell issued a statement the same day: ‘Based on ongoing conversations with public health officials, and out of an abundance of caution, Taco Bell has taken immediate action to voluntarily remove potentially impacted lettuce from a supplier in select states.

‘The affected ingredient from our supplier is being indefinitely removed from our supply chain nationwide and will be replaced within 24 hours in select states.

‘While no official advisory has been issued, we believe public health is a shared responsibility among restaurants, their suppliers, and authorities, and we are proud to have consistently acted quickly and proactively to protect our guests.

‘Taco Bell has taken precautionary action, and we encourage all relevant restaurants, retailers, and foodservice operators to do the same.’

Nationwide, cases of cyclosporiasis are estimated to have climbed near 7,000 across more than 40 states.

Not all cases are related to this outbreak and the CDC previously said it is ‘also investigating other outbreaks and illnesses of cyclosporiasis nationally that are unrelated to this outbreak.’

People become infected with cyclosporiasis by eating food or drinking water contaminated with the cyclospora parasite, most commonly through fresh produce such as leafy greens, herbs and berries.

In the US, most cases are typically linked to international travel or imported produce from regions where the parasite is common, including Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

Fresh produce can become contaminated if it is washed or irrigated with water contaminated by human sewage.

Previous outbreaks have been linked to bagged salad kits, cilantro, basil and other leafy greens.

Cyclosporiasis typically causes explosive diarrhea, abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting and fatigue.

Unlike norovirus or routine food poisoning, however, symptoms often come and go rather than resolving after a few days.

Without treatment, experts say the illness can persist for weeks or repeatedly return.

Anyone with diarrhea lasting more than a few days should seek medical care and specifically ask for a cyclospora test, as it is not routinely ordered, Dr Swapnil Patel, vice chair of medicine at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center, told the Daily Mail.

The test detects cyclospora DNA in stool samples and typically requires one to three samples.

Treatment for the infection consists of the antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, sold under the brand names Bactrim, Septra and Cotrim.
