ANAHEIM, Calif. — As Earth Month unfolds, Disney and National Geographic are inviting families to dive into the marvels of our planet with a celebration that spans the entire month. This event is designed to captivate audiences with compelling stories and engaging experiences.
The festivities kick off with the global premieres of National Geographic’s “Secrets of the Bees” and Disneynature’s “Orangutan.” This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund, complemented by special programming across Disney’s broadcast and streaming services.
In a collaborative effort, Disneyland Resort and National Geographic are offering visitors the chance to partake in Earth Month through a variety of interactive events and activities.
During the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, On The Red Carpet met with National Geographic Explorer Dr. Sammy Ramsey. He was there to lead a unique “Secrets of the Bees” activation weekend.
Dr. Ramsey shared, “Being here at the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is fantastic. The foods featured are all linked to the efforts of bees, from pistachios to a variety of nuts. It’s amazing to see how these elements are seamlessly integrated into the dishes, and the taste is incredible.”
Dr. Sammy Ramsey is featured in the “Secrets of the Bees” special, which hails from executive producer James Cameron, adding an un-bee-lievabale new installment of the Emmy-winning “Secrets of” series.
“The entire ‘Secrets of’ series, you’ll notice that we chose animals that people feel like they already know a lot about already. They’re all recognizable. The elephants, the whales, the penguins, the octopus, the bees. But then we take that opportunity to show you a whole new world, see what I did there? Very Disney. A whole new world in those organisms. All of the incredible things they do that you can easily miss, and then we remind you how important it is to care for and steward those organisms. There is no better time to remind of you of this than Earth Month, when we all need to have this on our minds,” he explains.
Across Disneyland Resort hotels, guests will encounter a National Geographic-themed experiential pop-up, complete with an iconic Nat Geo Yellow Border photo opportunity, lawn games and more.
In Disney California Adventure, celebrate the series with the “Secrets of the Bees” photo-op at the Brownstones in Hollywood Land. Then, for guests 21+, check out the Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo Food & Wine Booth for the National Geographic Hot Honey White Sangria.
Guests visiting Disneyland Resort may also receive the April issue of National Geographic magazine, offering another way to engage with the wonder of the natural world throughout Earth Month.
The Food & Wine Festival will continue until April 27, so guests still have time to explore all of the fun food options.
“Secrets of the Bees” is streaming now on Disney+ and Hulu.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of National Geographic, Disney+, Hulu, Disney Parks and this ABC station.
The second U.S. airman, previously reported missing in Iran, has been successfully rescued by U.S. forces in a bold operation, according to President Trump.
Trump lauded the mission on Saturday night, describing it as “one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History.” The operation involved the extraction of a colonel from deep within hostile territory.
In a nod to former President Obama’s iconic announcement after the 2011 Navy SEAL operation that resulted in Osama bin Laden’s death, Trump opened his statement with a triumphant “WE GOT HIM!”
Trump detailed the colonel’s ordeal, explaining that the soldier was stranded behind enemy lines in Iran’s perilous mountains, narrowly evading capture by adversaries closing in rapidly. This update was shared on Trump’s Truth Social account.
Despite sustaining injuries during an intense firefight with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the colonel is reported to be “safe and sound,” Trump confirmed.
The airman ejected from an F-15E fighter jet along with the aircraft’s pilot in the early hours of Friday, sparking a frantic two-day search operation that culminated in a fierce firefight.
Trump said the aircraft’s pilot was secretly rescued hours after the crash, but that operation was kept quiet to not ‘jeopardize our second rescue operation.’
The F-15E jet was downed on Friday soon after a US A-10 Warthog was also shot down by Iranian forces in a chaotic day of fighting, marking the first US aircraft downed since the start of the conflict.
A second US airman shot down over Iran has been rescued in a daring rescue mission following a fierce firefight with the IRGC, reports say. The wreckage of the pilot’s F-15E fighter jet is pictured
Pictured: The ejected seat from the US aircraft as published in Iranian media
Trump touted the success of the rescue mission on Saturday evening. In a playful echo of President Obama’s famous words after US Navy Seals killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, Trump began his statement announcing the news: ‘WE GOT HIM’
It came after Trump said earlier on Truth Social that US forces had ‘terminated’ several of Iran’s military leaders, sharing footage appearing to show an airstrike taking out top IRGC commanders.
Trump’s social media posts praising the rescue operations came hours after the White House furiously shut down rumors the president was hospitalized on Saturday, saying he has not made public appearances in three days because he is focusing on the conflict with Iran.
Following the downing of two US aircrafts on Friday, Iran placed a large bounty on the heads of the US airmen, vowing to seek revenge on US military forces for the conflict.
Before the rescue mission took place, the official X account for the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, released harrowing new images of the destroyed F-15E jet, accompanied by a taunting caption.
‘The stealth fighter that now has no escape but to lie under the feet of aerospace warriors,’ the embassy wrote.
‘That same stealth giant, for which they wove legends for years, is today a pile of scrap metal fallen to the ground – this is the very technology they claimed was invisible and untouchable,’ it added. ‘But now it has been seen and brought down.’
While the pilot was rescued quickly, the second member of the crew, a Weapons Systems Officer, used specialized survival techniques to evade capture long enough to be saved, Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin said in an X post on Saturday night.
The soldier used SERE – survival, evasion, resistance and escape – training to evade capture, hiking up an elevated ridge away from the wreckage and putting out an emergency beacon in hopes of being located.
Griffin said a number of Iranian military forces were killed and injured in the operation, but no US soldiers were killed.
Trump said earlier on Truth Social that US forces had ‘terminated’ several of Iran’s military leaders, sharing footage appearing to show an airstrike taking out top IRGC commanders
The Iranian military previously shared footage appearing to show the F-15E fighter jet being blown out of the sky
A US official told Fox News the mission was ‘very complex’, and involved several branches of the US military to find and rescue the airman.
During search and rescue operations on Friday, two rescue helicopters were hit by Iranian forces and crew members on board were injured.
As Iranian forces closed in on the stranded airman, footage circulating on social media appeared to show members of Iran’s Bakhtiari tribes in Khuzestan heading into the mountains, rifles in hand, to search for the American soldier.
Iranians have been offered a $60,000 bounty for the pilot’s ‘head,’ while Trump declined to comment on how he would respond if the airman were to have been harmed.
Broadcasters urged locals near the crash site to seize the American, telling viewers, ‘If you capture the enemy pilot or pilots alive and hand them over to the police you will receive a precious prize.’
News channels also flashed messages on screen of ‘shoot them if you see them’ and showed footage of villagers scouring a rocky hillside.
In a gloating online statement, Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf taunted the US and Trump over his repeated claims of winning the war.
‘After defeating Iran 37 times in a row, this brilliant no-strategy war they started has now been downgraded from “regime change” to “Hey! Can anyone find our pilots? Please?”’ Ghalibaf wrote.
EXCLUSIVE: Sara Netanyahu, the spouse of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has issued a warning about the escalating threat of antisemitism and efforts to weaken the bond between Christian and Jewish communities.
Her comments came after a four-day trip to the United States, where she attended the “Be Best” First Ladies’ Summit at the invitation of First Lady Melania Trump.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Sara Netanyahu expressed concern that extremist factions on both the far left and right are perpetuating antisemitism despite historical lessons. She noted that these groups are trying to undermine Israel and fracture the alliance with the Christian community.
“Israel has never seen a prime minister like my husband, who prioritizes meeting with Christian leaders during every U.S. visit,” she remarked to Fox News Digital. “He values embracing these leaders, listening to their concerns, and fostering a close, genuine partnership as true friends.”
Sara Netanyahu delivered a speech at the State Department in Washington, D.C., in March 2026.(GPO)
“Their courage in standing firm against the enemies of Israel is worthy of appreciation. They are our [unofficial] ambassadors, and I hope our partnership will continue to grow and strengthen,” she added.
Netanyahu said that in July, Israel hosted the president’s close adviser and White House Faith Office head, Paula White-Cain, for a special event attended by both her and the prime minister, which was broadcast to millions of Christian viewers worldwide.
Following Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, killing of 1,200 people in Israel, antisemitism surged globally, including in the U.S.
Sara Netanyahu was raised in Israel by her parents, Shmuel and Hava Ben-Artzi. Her father, a Bible scholar and educator, instilled in her an appreciation for the Jewish people’s historical connection to the land of Israel.
Pastor Paula White-Cain, spiritual adviser to President Donald Trump, meets Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara at Daystar’s “Together As One” event in Jerusalem, as part of a visit organized by Niv Jacobi, President of The Meaning Channel.(Felipe Volokita, The Meaning Channel.)
“The Holocaust was a moment in history that cannot and will not be repeated,” Netanyahu told Fox News Digital, against the backdrop of the ongoing U.S.-Israel military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose leaders have repeatedly threatened to commit genocide against the Jewish state.
Post-Oct. 7 attacks include the May 2025 killing of two Israeli Embassy staff in Washington by Elias Rodriguez, who allegedly shouted “Free Palestine!” upon arrest, and a June attack by Mohamed Sabry Soliman that wounded 12 at a pro-Israel rally, later killing one victim.
Incidents also rose after Operation Epic Fury began Feb. 28, described by Netanyahu as a preemptive move against Iran and its terror proxies.

Investigators said Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, accused of attempting a March 12 attack on a Michigan synagogue, was radicalized by Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, a federal probe last month found some faculty members “legitimized and amplified antisemitism” during protests against Israel’s war in Gaza. Encampments spread on campuses, often demanding divestment from Israel-linked institutions and Jewish organizations.
On March 20, the Trump administration sued Harvard, alleging it failed to protect Jewish and Israeli students and enabled antisemitism.
“We are in an existential war — a war of good versus evil — against a force that seeks to destroy Israel and the world,” she said.
“Leaders of the Iranian regime have publicly burned the flags of Israel and the United States. They have called Israel the ‘Little Satan’ and America the ‘Great Satan.’”
She continued, “Israel has never had a better friend than Donald Trump. Together with the [Israeli] prime minister, they are reshaping the Middle East and creating an opportunity for a new future for the entire free world,” she added.

During her U.S. visit, Netanyahu met with multiple first ladies, delivered a speech at the U.S. State Department, held talks with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., engaged with technology and AI companies and hosted a large meeting with parents of children serving in the Israel Defense Forces.
Netanyahu attended the “Be Best” First Ladies’ Summit, a global technology conference of first ladies hosted by Melania Trump, focused on expanding access to distance-learning technologies for children and teenagers.
Netanyahu, a child psychologist who works three times a week at the Jerusalem municipality, has immersed herself in the issue.

The visit also carried economic implications, leading to expanded dialogue with Microsoft and Meta at the global level.
Netanyahu told Fox News Digital that companies expressed interest in advancing investments worth tens of millions of dollars to implement advanced AI models for remote learning among children and youth — particularly in Israel, where educational continuity has been disrupted by the security situation.
“Israel is a leading country among advanced Western nations — in morality, values and certainly technology. Israeli innovation impacts people around the world every day in fields such as cybersecurity, fintech and agriculture. We contribute our knowledge and build strategic partnerships that bring Israel closer to its allies,” she said.
“There is strong appreciation for Israel worldwide, and when countries recognize our contributions, they choose partnership over extremism and hatred,” Netanyahu concluded.

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. — The Tybee Island Police Department (TIPD) is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place during an unauthorized, spontaneous gathering on Saturday evening.
TIPD reported that around 6:30 p.m., a large crowd had assembled near the pier and pavilion. Officers present heard multiple gunshots, which caused the attendees to flee the scene.
In response, off-duty TIPD officers quickly arrived to provide support. They were soon joined by officers from the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD), Chatham County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), and Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
“Once the event was dispersed, our officers began coordinating the investigation and ensuring public safety,” stated a press release from TIPD. “As of now, no suspects have been identified, and there have been no reports of injuries.”
The investigation is ongoing, and residents may notice a heightened police presence in the area. TIPD is urging anyone with information to reach out to them.
Now more than halfway to the moon, the Artemis II astronauts prepared for their historic lunar fly-around to push deeper into space than even the Apollo astronauts.
Unfortunately, the crew is facing a recurring issue with their spacecraft’s toilet, which has gone on the fritz once more.
The three Americans and one Canadian are set to reach their destination on Monday, photographing the mysterious lunar far side as they zoom around.

This mission marks the first time a team is heading to the moon in over 53 years, picking up the torch from NASA’s storied Apollo program.
Pilot Victor Glover shared a vivid update from space, noting, “The Earth is quite small, and the moon is definitely getting bigger.”
Due to the ongoing issues with the Orion capsule’s bathroom, Mission Control has instructed the astronauts to rely on additional backup urine collection bags until repairs can be made.
The problem, dubbed the “lunar loo” malfunction, has plagued the mission since Wednesday’s launch, causing intermittent issues ever since.
A version of the Artemis II toilet was tested on the International Space Station several years ago.

Engineers suspect ice may be blocking the line that is preventing urine from completely flushing overboard. The toilet is still open for No. 2 business.
Debbie Korth, NASA’s Orion program deputy manager, said the astronauts have also reported a smell coming from the bathroom, which is buried in the floor of the capsule with a door and curtain for privacy.
“Space toilets and bathrooms are something everybody can really understand .. it’s always a challenge,” she said, noting that the space shuttle toilet was also often on the fritz.

John Honeycutt, chair of the mission management team, said it is human nature to be interested in the space commode, and even though it is “in a good state right now,” he’d like it to be working at 100 per cent.
“They’re OK,” he said of the astronauts. “They trained to manage through the situation.”
Artemis II is poised to set a distance record for humans, traveling more than 400,000 kilometers from Earth before hanging a U-turn behind the moon and heading home without stopping or entering lunar orbit.
The record is currently held by Apollo 13.

The Canadian Space Agency celebrated the country’s role in the mission, speaking from Quebec with astronaut Jeremy Hansen as he headed toward his lunar rendezvous. Hansen is the first non-US citizen to fly to the moon.

“Today he is making history for Canada,” Canadian Space Agency President Lisa Campbell said. “As we watch him taking this bold step into the unknown, let his journey remind us that Canada’s future is written by those who dare to reach for more.”
In the live televised linkup, Hansen said he has already witnessed “extraordinary” views from NASA’s Orion capsule.

Hansen, Glover, Reid Wiseman and Christina Koch are the world’s first lunar astronauts since Apollo 17’s crew of three in 1972. Koch and Glover are the first female and first Black astronauts to the moon, respectively.
Their nearly 10-day mission — ending with a Pacific splashdown on April 10 — is the first step in NASA’s bold plans for a sustainable moon base.
The space agency is aiming for a landing by two astronauts near the lunar south pole in 2028.

MEMORISE: I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest. – Psalm 40:9 (KJV)
READ: 2 Kings 7:3-16 (KJV)
3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
6 For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
8 And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
10 So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.
11 And he called the porters; and they told it to the king’s house within.
12 And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
13 And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
14 They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
15 And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.
16 And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 14-16
Open Heaven 5 April 2026 MESSAGE
Today’s Bible reading tells us about how four leprous men rescued an entire city from its terrible economic situation. Before then, there had been a severe famine in Samaria for a prolonged time, and things got so bad that mothers began to eat their children (2 Kings 6:26-29). After a while, Elisha, God’s servant, proclaimed God’s word that things would change for good the very next day. Unaware of the prophetic word from the mouth of God’s servant, the four lepers, who lived outside the city gates, decided to take a bold step to go into the enemy’s camp. Their action paid off because God had caused the enemy soldiers to flee from their camp because they heard what sounded like a mighty army marching towards them. When the lepers entered the enemy’s camp, they found out that all the soldiers had fled and had left behind all their food and other supplies. They were amazed, and they ate, drank, gathered silver, gold, and other precious items. However, after a while, they stopped and questioned their selfishness:
Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household – 2 Kings 7:9
The lepers knew that it was a day of good tidings, so they refused to keep the good news to themselves. They reported their discovery to the king’s household, and that was how God’s word about a miraculous turnaround in the economic situation of the city came to pass the very next day. If you are a Christian, then you know that today is a day of good tidings. Jesus died and resurrected to bring us into a new day. Jeremiah 31:31 tells us about the days when God will make a new covenant with His people. These are the days of that new covenant; the days of God’s grace and victory over the nature of sin. If you are not sharing this good news and telling others about the wonderful works of God, you are denying them the opportunity of enjoying God’s blessings.
Beloved, God has saved you from satan’s bondage and freed you from his burdens. One way to appreciate Him for this is to become a habitual testifier of His goodness. Don’t keep the good news of Christ’s redemption to yourself.
Happy Easter!

TOPIC: From Fear To Faith (DCLM Daily Manna 5 April 2026)
KEY VERSE: And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him – Mark 16:5,6
TEXT: Mark 16:1-8 (KJV)
1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
As Vice President, George Bush represented the US at the funeral of former Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev. Bush was deeply moved by a silent protest carried out by Brezhnev’s widow. She stood motionless by the coffin until seconds before it was closed. Then, just as the soldiers touched the lid, Brezhnev’s wife performed an act of great courage and hope, a gesture that must surely rank as one of the most profound acts of civil disobedience ever committed: She reached down and made the sign of the cross on her husband’s chest. There in the citadel of secular, atheistic power, the wife of the man who had run it all hoped that her husband was wrong. She hoped that there was another life, and that that life was best represented by Jesus who died on the cross, and that the same Jesus might yet have mercy on her husband.”
Our passage narrates the powerful story of the resurrection from the perspective of the women – Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome – who came to anoint Jesus’ body. They were grieving, confused, and unsure of how they would roll the large stone away from the tomb’s entrance. But when they arrived, the stone was already rolled back, God had gone ahead of them. Inside, they found not Jesus’ body, but an angel who declared to them messages of: PEACE (“Be not affrighted”); POWER (“He is risen!”); POTENTIAL (“He is not here!”); PREACHING (“go your way, tell his disciples and Peter”); and PROMISE (“Ye shall see Him”). Jesus’ resurrection is the heart of the Christian faith. It implies that death has been defeated and new life is available to all who believe. On this strength, the angel instructed them to go and tell the disciples which they eventually obeyed and shared the good news.
This passage challenges us to live with faith over fear, to trust that God is already at work ahead of us, and to be willing to share the message of the risen Christ. Like the women at the tomb, we’re also called to respond to the resurrection with both awe and action, and walk in faith even when we don’t understand. what God is doing. He may have removed whatever “stone” we are worried about today.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY The tomb is empty. Go and tell the world, Jesus is alive!

Rhapsody Of Realities 5 April 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): He Is Lord Jesus
TOPIC: He Is Lord Jesus (Rhapsody of Realities 5 April 2026)
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last (Revelation 1:17).
Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:
To walk with the Lord Jesus and truly serve Him, you must know who He really is. You can’t honour Him if you don’t know Him. You can’t love Him if you don’t know Him. Oftentimes, the way some call His Name reveals whether or not they truly recognise His divine identity and supreme lordship.
For example, after His resurrection and ascension, no one who addressed Him called Him Jesus; they called Him Lord Jesus. He’s Lord Jesus! That’s what those who truly encountered Him called Him. Consider Saul of Tarsus; he was knocked down by divine power on the road to Damascus and said, “Who are you, Lord?”
The moment he heard the answer, “I am Jesus”, his reverence changed because he had a real encounter. Read it as Luke puts it: “And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 9:4-5).
Many say they have seen Him, yet continue to address Him without reverence. A true encounter with the glorified Christ transforms how you speak to Him or about Him. You recognise His majesty. You honour His lordship. John the Apostle saw Him in glory on the Isle of Patmos, and his response was recorded in Revelation 1:17: “…When I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead….” He fell under the power, because of the manifestation of divine glory. Then the Master laid His hand upon him and spoke a blessing: “Fear not; I am the first and the last.” This is the glorified Christ.
Your worship, your words, and your life should reflect the greatest honour, the deepest awe, and the utmost reverence for Him. He is “…the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:13-14). Lionel Messi reached another significant milestone in his illustrious career on Saturday night by scoring Inter Miami’s inaugural goal at their newly unveiled Nu Stadium.
This landmark moment occurred in the 10th minute during a match against Austin FC, just shortly after the visitors had nearly dampened the stadium’s grand debut.
Austin FC’s Guilherme Biro made history by netting the first-ever goal in the stadium with a header in the sixth minute, much to the dismay of the local fans.
However, Messi swiftly responded by connecting with an Ian Fray cross, expertly heading the ball to equalize the score and electrify the Inter Miami supporters.
This goal marked Messi’s fifth in the MLS season over just six appearances, showcasing his continued dominance since the start of the 2026 campaign.
Before kickoff, the atmosphere was electric as David Beckham addressed the fans alongside co-owners Jorge and Jose Mas to celebrate the stadium’s opening.

Beckham praised the Argentine icon, calling him the ‘best player in the history of the game’ while thanking him for his impact on Inter Miami.
The stadium itself features a permanent tribute to the star, with a section on the east side officially dedicated as the ‘Leo Messi Stand.’
‘We believed in Miami,’ Beckham said. ‘And Miami believed in us.’
The game eventually ended 2-2 after Austin’s Jayden Nelson restored the visitors’ advantage, before Luis Suarez restored parity in the game with nine minutes left.
It marked the first time that Inter Miami played a game in its namesake city, having previously spent more than six years calling Fort Lauderdale home.
The stadium itself is reported to have cost around $350 million, however the entire Miami Freedom Park campus will cost approximately $1 billion to construct.
The complex will feature the 26,700-seater stadium, a 5,000 space parking lot, a 750-room hotel, a retail village, 58 acres of public parks and community soccer fields.
According to the club, the new stadium has been entirely privately funded and required no city money to complete construction. However, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis did allocate $8 million in public funding to complete a road around the stadium.
Beckham was joined by his Spice Girl wife Victoria, 51, and two of their children – Cruz and Romeo – as he opened his Inter Miami team’s new stadium.

Cruz, 21, took to Instagram with snaps as he toured the venue, after estranged brother Brooklyn was spotted taking a ‘tense’ phone call amid their ongoing family feud.
He said he ‘couldn’t be more proud’ of his father as he took in the huge new state-of-the-art stadium before sitting in Lionel Messi’s pitchside seat.
Cruz penned: ‘Dad I really couldn’t be more proud of you, you have inspired me every day to be a better human and have consistently proved that as long as you work as hard as you can you can achieve your dreams.’
Before adding: ‘And today you have made history once again, Vamos Miami, see ya tonight’.
David shared a first look at Inter Miami’s new $750million (£566.5m) stadium on Friday ahead of its official unveiling.
The England legend announced the beginning of construction on the project, then called Miami Freedom Park, in 2023, three years on from the club’s founding.
Beckham posted a picture to Instagram during Inter Miami’s first training session at the Nu Stadium, with the caption ‘Our new home (two pink heart emojis)’ adorning the video of the gleaming pink and white ground.
The 50-year-old also shared a post with pictures of the ground – and himself testing out the turf – to his main grid, which was celebrated by a slew of well-wishers.
