Tragic Incident: Toddler Fatally Wounded by Accidental Gun Discharge

In Kentucky, a couple faced conviction after their 3-year-old son accessed a firearm from the dresser in his bedroom, resulting in the tragic accidental shooting of his 2-year-old brother.

Following a weeklong trial, Tashaun Adams, aged 23, and Selena Farrell, aged 25, were found guilty of reckless homicide in the death of Khalil Adams. The verdict was delivered on Friday, as reported by the Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney. The jury also found them guilty of child abandonment.

According to police, on a January afternoon in 2024, Adams and Farrell were asleep and not supervising their young children, who were left to play in their bedroom at the family’s Covington apartment. The older child was aware that his father kept a gun in the dresser of the room where he and his sibling slept.

“Daddy’s gun is in the drawer,” the young boy later explained to police officers, according to a criminal complaint cited by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The toddler took hold of the gun and began playing with it, leading to the accidental shooting of his brother. Khalil was immediately transported by paramedics to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.

Adams testified he was sleeping when he heard a gunshot. He ran to the bedroom where he saw Khalil on the floor.

“His eyes were closed,” he reportedly said. “It didn’t look like he was breathing.”

He has accepted responsibility for his actions.

“I blame myself for it every day,” he testified, the Enquirer stated.

While Adams stayed on scene, Farrell fled. She was arrested a few days later at a hotel where she told cops she “knew Khalil was going to die and wanted to attend his funeral,” local NBC affiliate WLWT reported.

Kenton County Commonwealth Prosecutor Rob Sanders told reporters at the time that the shooting, while tragic, was no accident.

“I really don’t like the term accident, because I think accidents, in my mind, are unavoidable,” he said. “This was not an unavoidable set of circumstances. This shooting death was caused by the fact that two adults left a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber within reach of a 3-year-old child that they did not supervise.”

Sanders delivered the closing argument to jurors where he reiterated the same point.

“This case is about the parents’ choices,” he said, per the Enquirer. “They made lots of mistakes, but they weren’t accidents.”

What’s worse is Adams had been warned before about the dangers of leaving an unsecured gun within reach of children. About two years before the shooting, cops reportedly found a gun — the same one used to kill Khalil — unsecured in a bedroom. A few months later authorities with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services once again discovered a gun within reach of the kids, prosecutors stated, according to the Enquirer.

Adams reportedly signed a prevention plan advising he would ensure a “safe and stable environment” where the kids were adequately supervised.

Per the Enquirer, jurors recommended Adams serve five years and Farrell seven years. A sentencing date has yet to be set.

Kyle Richards Holds Key Influence Over ‘RHOBH’ Cast Decisions, Insider Reveals

The trailer for the much-anticipated 15th season of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion has sparked intrigue, particularly with Dorit Kemsley’s candid remarks. When asked what it is about Kyle Richards that compels others to appease her, Dorit did not hold back.

EXCLUSIVE: Insider Says Dorit Kemsley's Claim That Kyle Richards Has 'Power to Get Anyone Off' of 'RHOBH' is 'True'

“She has the power to get anyone off the show,” Dorit boldly claimed, casting a spotlight on the dynamics within the group.

Following these comments, an insider provided exclusive insights to Reality Blurb, corroborating Dorit’s assertion about Kyle’s sway.

“What Dorit’s saying about Kyle having influence on people’s positions on the show is true,” the insider confirmed, adding further fuel to the ongoing drama surrounding the cast’s relationships.

“What Dorit’s saying about Kyle having influence on people’s positions on the show is true,” they stated.

They insisted viewers need only “look at how things have gone over the years.”

“People are finally starting to figure out that’s why Sutton and Erika are always kissing up to her,” they continued. “They don’t agree with her and everything she says. It’s more that they’re afraid of her.”

The insider noted that since Kyle was made an unofficial executive producer of RHOBH, this “has always been a thing.”

“While production didn’t think it would mean that much at first, it basically took on a life of its own and became a thing,” they elaborated. “It’s been talked about for years but is finally coming to the forefront because Dorit verbalized it and they aired it.”

On the season 15 finale, Dorit got into an explosive confrontation with Kyle and Erika after they skipped her book party.

The day after, Dorit explained that she had a “deep pain in her heart” about the Erika of it all, due to their friendship being a decade-long. While Dorit wondered what she did to get on Erika’s bad side, she surmised Kyle got into her ear. Dorit also noted her friendship with Erika must not have been as strong as she thought it was.

Later, at a party hosted by Kathy Hilton, Kyle wished Dorit well on her event, but stressed that even if things were great between them, it would have been a struggle for her to attend due to exhaustion. The pair continued to go back and forth, with Dorit insisting Kyle was getting a gang together to come after her.

Dorit then went off on Erika for not attending her event, but Erika kept cool, calm, and collected.

Based on the reunion trailer, things clearly have not gotten better between the trio since the show aired.

“She wants to play this villain now that everyone thought was cool,” Kyle is seen telling Erika. “She was smoking, so now she walks around puffing her cigarette, acting like an a**hole because people thought it was cool. You have fun with that.”

“This is about the three of us coming apart,” Erika then tells Kyle.

When on the reunion stage, Dorit also points a finger at Kyle, accusing her of going “into this season with a plan.”

“Are you kidding me?” Kyle asks her.

“Saying that I’m manic? Saying that I’m erratic?” Dorit responds.

Dorit also is seen apologizing to Erika, and Erika questions its sincerity.

“No, Erika. I’m a cold-hearted f*cking c*nt,” Dorit tells her.

The three-part RHOBH reunion begins airing Thursday, April 23, at 8/7c on Bravo.

Why Kerry Washington’s Kids Missed the ‘Scrappy Hustler’ Gene: A Revealing Insight

Kerry Washington is providing an uncommon peek into her role as a mother.

In a recent chat on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, the star of Imperfect Women candidly discussed her experiences raising her three children alongside husband Nnamdi Asomugha.

Reflecting on her own upbringing in the Bronx, the actress pondered how her children will develop the same ambitious spirit she acquired during her youth.

“I often think about this because they don’t have the experience of growing up in the Bronx like I did,” she explained. “They weren’t born in a place that naturally fosters that scrappy, hustler mentality I developed, so I wonder where they’ll find their own drive.”

Despite these musings, Washington noted that she already observes signs of resilience in her children, particularly in their athletic pursuits.

Still, Washington said she already sees signs of resilience, especially when it comes to athletics.

“My kids are really resilient, and I see it mostly in sports,” she explained. “That’s like their opportunity.”

The actress described herself as a very involved parent on game days, admitting she brings a lot of energy from the sidelines.

“I go to the games,” she said, adding with a laugh that she’s a “loud cheerer,” much to their embarrassment.

When it comes to handling wins and losses, Washington said she allows her children to process things in their own way.

“[I] try to figure out how they’re feeling about it, and ask a lot of questions,” she said. “I don’t try to make it better immediately.”

She continued, “If there was a visual metaphor for it, I try to sit on the bench with them and just look where they’re looking. Just give it some time.”

Washington also shared that her children—Isabelle, Caleb, and her stepdaughter—bring a sense of humor that keeps her grounded. She said she enjoys their quick wit, especially when they tease her in a playful way.

“I want to be really clear. I love when my kids get a good burn on me,” she said, noting that while respect is a priority in her home, playful jokes are welcome.

“I’m not saying that I want my kids to be disrespectful,” she added. “But a good, well-timed comedic burn—it just makes me love them more.”

For Washington, those moments show that “they feel safe with me. They feel comfortable flexing their own mental prowess. I just love that. I love also that it humbles me. My kids are so not impressed with me, which I love.”

Trump Warns Iran Over Ceasefire Violations in Strait of Hormuz

0

Donald Trump has once again issued a stern warning to Iran over its alleged violation of the ceasefire, accusing it of targeting European vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

The former president cautioned that he would instruct the U.S. military to dismantle “every single power plant and every single bridge” in Iran should they reject the forthcoming peace agreement.

At the age of 79, Trump has dispatched envoys to Pakistan to engage in talks concerning the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict. Tensions have been high since February 28 when the U.S. initiated military actions in Iran.

On Sunday, Trump took to Truth Social to claim that Iran had “fired bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz” at both a French vessel and a UK freighter.

He condemned the incident as “a total violation” of the ceasefire agreement, which had been in effect for two weeks after its announcement on April 8, and issued a renewed threat in response.

‘We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,’ Trump wrote.

‘NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They’ll come down fast, they’ll come down easy and, if they don’t take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years.

‘IT’S TIME FOR THE IRAN KILLING MACHINE TO END!’

JD Vance will lead the next round of peace talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, ahead of the ceasefire expiration date on Wednesday, according to ABC News.

Trump told Fox News that US Special Envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff would also be part of the American delegation.

According to Fox, the president warned that this will be Iran’s last chance to agree to a peace deal.

‘If Iran does not sign this deal, the whole country is getting blown up,’ he said, per the outlet.

Iran doubled down on its pledge to restrict ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz as long as the US blockade of Iranian ports remains in place, as mediators scrambled to extend the ceasefire.

The dueling blockades have complicated Pakistani-led mediation attempts and raised questions about whether the two-week truce can be extended.

‘It is impossible for others to pass through the Strait of Hormuz while we cannot,’ Iranian parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said in an interview aired on state television late Saturday.

Qalibaf, who is Iran’s chief negotiator in talks with the United States, slammed the US blockade as a ‘naive decision made out of ignorance’.

He said Iran still was seeking peace despite deep-seated distrust of the United States.

‘There will be no retreat in the field of diplomacy,’ he said, acknowledging that the gap between the two sides remained wide.

Iran had announced the strait’s reopening after a 10-day truce between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon took hold on Friday.

But after U.S. President Donald Trump said the U.S. blockade of Iran’s ports ‘will remain in full force’ until Tehran reaches a deal with the United States.

Iran said it would continue enforcing its restrictions in the strait.

After a brief uptick in transit attempts on Saturday, vessels in the Persian Gulf held their positions, wary after two India-flagged ships were fired on mid-transit and forced to turn around.

Their retreat returned the strait, through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil trade normally passes, to its pre-ceasefire status quo, threatening to deepen the global energy crisis and push the parties toward renewed conflict.

For Iran, the strait’s closure – imposed after the U.S. and Israel launched the war on Feb. 28 during talks over Tehran’s nuclear program – is perhaps its most powerful weapon, threatening the world economy and inflicting political pain on Trump.

For the United States, the blockade squeezes Iran’s already weakened economy and pressures its government by denying it long-term cash flow.

Cruise Ships Boldly Navigate Through the Strait of Hormuz, Challenging IRGC’s Presence

0

Recent events have highlighted a significant challenge in confronting Iran’s disruptive actions in the Strait of Hormuz: the reluctance of some nations to defend both justice and their economic interests, including the safety of their own ships. This hesitance has been glaringly evident, exposing a lack of resolve within the international community.

Bahrain attempted to address this issue with a resolution, but it faced obstruction at the United Nations. The vote against the resolution was particularly disheartening, revealing an inability to stand up to a state accused of sponsoring terrorism and underscoring a broader ineffectiveness on the global stage.

Instead of decisive action, there was an abundance of rhetoric about potential responses following any military engagements. Such discussions offered little in terms of immediate solutions.

Ironically, as reported, one vessel, the Celestyal Discovery, demonstrated more courage than many of these hesitant nations. The cruise ship boldly navigated the Strait on Friday, opting for the southern passage near Oman, setting an example of resilience and determination.

Thanks for nothing.

The funny thing was that, as we reported, one cruise ship, the Celestyal Discovery, was braver than any of these quivering states that don’t want to put anything on the line. The Discovery made it through the Strait on Friday, taking the southern route past Oman.

Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton Redefine Celebrity Relationship Announcements with Unconventional Launch

Lewis Hamilton wears a blue turtleneck with a blue suit jacket. He stands with Kim Kardashian, who wears a brown dress.

Famous Figures

This year, Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton made a joint appearance at Coachella, sparking conversations about their relationship. A brand manager has recently commented on the way their relationship has been introduced to the public.

Rumors have swirled around Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton for several months, suggesting a budding romance. Their presence together at Coachella, along with several other outings, has only fueled the speculation. Although neither has officially confirmed their relationship, an expert in branding believes they are handling the reveal of their romance masterfully. He pointed out how their approach contrasts with typical celebrity relationship unveilings.

A brand manager spoke about Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton’s relationship launch

According to a brand manager, the timing chosen by Kardashian and Hamilton to make their relationship known to the public is particularly intriguing.

“What nobody is talking about with Hamilton and Kardashian is the timing. We’re conditioned to see celebrity relationships go public during difficult periods, a career stumble, a reputational wobble, a stretch of bad press where a high-profile romance conveniently redirects the narrative,” said Colm Phelan, Brand Manager and PR Expert at Casinos.com. “This is the opposite.”

Hamilton and Kardashian are both at high points in their careers. He believes that the public receives this more openly.

“Hamilton has just broken a 16-month podium drought and publicly talked about rediscovering himself,” he said. “Kardashian has just made her Broadway debut and is starring in a Ryan Murphy series. These are two people going public at their absolute peaks, not to distract from something, but because there’s nothing to distract from. The public receives that completely differently.”

Kardashian and Hamilton made the transition from friends to something more in early 2026.

He said this could be a lesson for brands

While Hamilton and Kardashian’s relationship is interpersonal, Phelan believes that brands can learn something from them.

“For any brand thinking about when to make a big move, when to launch, when to announce, and when to go public, the Hamilton-Kardashian timing is the lesson. The best brand moments happen when you’ve already won something. Brand Hamilton-Kardashian are winning.”

Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton reportedly work well together

Kardashian and Hamilton have vacationed together several times. In March, they fueled dating rumors when they traveled to Arizona together.

“They both had a break in their schedules and decided to take another trip to spend more time together and really get to know each other,” a source told Us Weekly. “It’s going well, and Kim has been genuinely enjoying her time with Lewis.”

While Kardashian reportedly wanted to take things slow, she is happy with Hamilton.

“Lewis is such a great guy and has really been courting her and treating her right. He’s been making all the plans and making sure she is taken care of,” the source said. “Everyone around her thinks it’s really sweet and what she deserves. Kim has had such a relaxed aura recently in all aspects of her life. Her mindset has totally changed. She’s not forcing anything, just letting it unfold naturally.”

Most recently, the pair stepped out together at Coachella.

Convicted Florence County Officer Shooter from 2018 Ambush Found Dead in Prison

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. — Fred Hopkins, the man responsible for the 2018 deadly ambush that claimed the lives of two officers in Florence County, has passed away in prison.

The 81-year-old died at 1:17 a.m. on Saturday in the hospital wing of the state Department of Corrections at MUSC Chester, as confirmed by a spokeswoman to News13.

In 2023, Hopkins received a life sentence for the murders of two officers during the tragic incident outside his residence in the Vintage Place neighborhood. Additionally, he was sentenced to 30 years for each of the five attempted murder charges associated with the attack.
