Top 10 Anime Characters Capable of Defeating Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army

0

In the captivating series Solo Leveling, protagonist Sung Jin-Woo begins his journey as the weakest among hunters. However, his fortunes change dramatically when he acquires the Shadow Monarch’s Shadow Extraction ability. This power allows him to resurrect his vanquished foes as shadows who fight under his command. Over time, his Shadow Army becomes an indomitable force, bolstered by formidable fighters like Beru, Igris, and Bellion.

Despite the seemingly invincible nature of the Shadow Army in Solo Leveling, there are characters from other anime universes who could still pose a significant threat. These characters possess extraordinarily high power levels. Their abilities range from sorcery techniques that nullify physical attacks to cosmic powers capable of wielding entire galaxies as weapons.

Take Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King and primary antagonist of Demon Slayer, for example. If he were to face the Shadow Army, his ability to regenerate would be a formidable obstacle. Muzan’s biokinesis grants him the power to instantly restructure his body. With seven hearts and five brains scattered within, finding a weakness for the Shadow Army to exploit becomes nearly impossible.

Muzan’s Regeneration Makes Him Nearly Impossible for the Shadow Army to Kill

As the Demon King and main antagonist of Demon Slayer, if the Shadow Army ever tried to stop him, the biggest issue would be Muzan’s regeneration. His biokinesis allows him to restructure his body instantly, and with seven hearts and five brains spread throughout his body, there’s no single weak point the Shadow Army can reliably target.

Muzan can also fragment his body into thousands of pieces and still reform completely, meaning the Shadow Army cannot finish him even if they overwhelm him physically. His final form makes things even worse with near-instant regeneration, full cellular control, and extreme stamina that most S-Class hunters would struggle to deal with.

Gojo’s Cursed Techniques Are Powerful Enough to Solo Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army

Gojo Satoru, born with Six Eyes and the Limitless technique for the first time in four hundred years, is the strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen. The Shadow Army’s biggest problem with Gojo is that they cannot physically touch him. His Infinity passively divides the space between him and any incoming attack, meaning every strike from Beru, Igris, and Bellion slows down before it reaches him.

If Gojo decides to actually attack, the moment he activates Unlimited Void, his Domain Expansion traps everything inside a space of infinite information, where endless stimuli overwhelm any shadow soldier caught inside and paralyze their mind and body. On top of that, Gojo’s Six Eyes give him superhuman sensory perception, so the Shadow Army’s coordination advantage completely disappears against him.

Aizen’s Immortality and Kyoka Suigetsu Make Him One of the Shadow Army’s Worst Nightmares

Against Sung Jin-Woo’s Shadow Army, Aizen brings two abilities that the Shadow Army has no clear answer for: the Hogyoku’s near-immortality and Kyoka Suigetsu’s complete hypnosis. He is extremely skilled at using these abilities, and uses them masterfully as the main antagonist of Bleach, being a former Soul Society captain who spent centuries manipulating others before revealing his goal of overthrowing the gods themselves.

Moreover, the Hogyoku constantly regenerates Aizen’s injuries to the point where even Ichigo’s most powerful attack, Mugetsu, only managed to incapacitate him temporarily. The bigger issue is Kyoka Suigetsu, which controls all five senses plus spiritual perception, making it impossible for fighters like Beru or Igris to reliably trust what they perceive and breaking the Shadow Army’s coordination.

Ainz Has Too Many Instant Death Spells for Jin-woo’s Shadow Army to Handle

With over 700 abilities ranging from instant death to time manipulation. Ainz Ooal Gown is the Sorcerer King of Overlord and the most powerful magic caster in his world. Jin-woo’s Shadow Army has no answer to spells like Grasp Heart, which crushes an opponent’s heart and kills them instantly from a distance, and even when resisted, it still stuns the target.

Time Stop lets Ainz dismantle the Shadow Army by stopping time while he preloads spells that activate the instant it ends. His The Goal of All Life is Death takes things even further by allowing instant death spells to bypass all resistance and immunity for 12 seconds. The author of Overlord himself confirmed that both time stop, and instant death countermeasures are required to fight Ainz fairly, and the Shadow Army has neither.

Rimuru Goes From A Bottom-Tier Monster to a Literal God

Rimuru Tempest starts That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime as a seemingly weak slime, but his Gluttony ability makes him exponentially more dangerous with every fight, letting him absorb defeated enemies and inherit their abilities. By Season 2, he evolves into a True Demon Lord, a transformation that elevates his power and makes opponents who once posed a threat completely insignificant.

Later, Rimuru gains Raphael, an ability that lets him analyze opponents and figure out how to defeat them. He eventually evolves even further, combining his abilities into a power called Azathoth, a void-based power that can erase enemies from existence entirely. Since Jin-woo’s Shadow Army relies on resurrection, that kind of ability removes one of their biggest advantages.

Yhwach Can See Every Future the Shadow Army Has and Rewrite All of Them

As a result, Yhwach’s ability, the Almighty, lets him see every possible future at once and choose which one becomes reality. Yhwach would see all the Shadow Army’s efforts before they happen and solo Sung Jin-Woo’s Shadow Army by picking a future where none of it reaches him.

The Almighty goes beyond prediction, letting Yhwach rewrite futures where he dies and replace them with ones where he survives. Even if the Shadow Army somehow kills him, he can just pull a version of himself into the present where he’s still alive. There’s no real path to a permanent win against someone who can literally edit death out of his own timeline.

Anti-Spiral Plays With Entire Universes

Anti-Spiral is the most terrifying entity in Gurren Lagann, being a collective consciousness of an entire race that sealed away its own evolution and transcended normal existence. Anti-Spiral can reduce an enemy’s probability of winning to zero, literally manipulating the multidimensional laws of reality to make victory impossible for whoever it fights.

One of Anti-Spiral’s most insane feats is merging entire galaxies and firing them as a single attack known as the Infinity Big Bang Storm. Anti-Spiral can also trap enemies inside an infinite multiverse prison with no way out, and since the Shadow Army cannot fight something that exists beyond the dimensions they operate in, it can easily solo Sung Jin-Woo’s Shadow Army.

Goku Would Solo Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army Without Breaking a Sweat

Goku from Dragon Ball is one of the most iconic characters in anime. Over time, he has fought and defeated opponents capable of destroying entire universes and even multiverses. His strongest form, Ultra Instinct, lets his body move on its own, automatically dodging and countering attacks without any conscious effort.

Jin-woo’s continuous growth and regeneration are his biggest advantages in most fights, but both of them fall apart against Goku. A single Kamehameha from Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku carries enough destructive power to wipe out most of the Shadow Army, and even Jin-woo’s Ruler’s Authority wouldn’t be enough to turn the fight around.

Yogiri Only Needs One Word to Wipe Out the Shadow Army

Yogiri Takato from My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered looks like an ordinary high school student, but in reality, he is the embodiment of death itself. His ability allows him to instantly kill anything he targets with a single thought, with no way to dodge or survive it once it activates. If he decides something should die, it simply does.

The ability also activates automatically, meaning anything that directly threatens him can be erased before the attack even makes contact. In that sense, the Shadow Army wouldn’t really get a chance to overwhelm him. The moment Yogiri defines them as a threat, the fight effectively ends right there.

Saitama Would End Jin-woo’s Entire Shadow Army With a Single Punch

Saitama is one of the strongest characters in anime history, and One-Punch Man is built around the idea that he will always win. His Serious Punch alongside Cosmic Garou created an explosion that wiped out stars and left a massive void in space. He has survived multi-galaxy level attacks without a scratch and can destroy planets with the mere flick of the finger.

The Shadow Army’s only realistic shot at beating Saitama is a one-shot kill, because if the fight drags on, Saitama will only get stronger. Nothing in Jin-woo’s arsenal really scales close to the level of destruction Saitama casually tanks or produces, so the bald hero would easily solo Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army with a single punch.

Ceasefire Chaos: Ukraine and Russia Report Thousands of Violations During Putin’s Holiday Truce

0

On Sunday, tensions flared as Russia and Ukraine exchanged blame over numerous strikes, challenging the viability of a Kremlin-declared Easter truce that faltered shortly after its inception.

President Vladimir Putin of Russia announced a temporary ceasefire for the Orthodox Easter, instructing military forces to suspend hostilities from Saturday afternoon until the conclusion of Sunday. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accepted the ceasefire but cautioned that Kyiv would respond swiftly to any breaches.

Yet, the Easter truce seemed to unravel almost immediately.

According to Ukraine’s military, there were 2,299 reported breaches of the ceasefire by early Sunday morning. These included attacks, artillery fire, and minor drone operations, though there were no indications of deployment of long-range drones, missiles, or guided bombs.

A Ukrainian officer told The Associated Press that Russian troops continued attacking positions despite the declared truce.

Russia’s Defense Ministry fired back, accusing Ukrainian forces of 1,971 violations, including drone strikes in the border regions of Kursk and Belgorod that allegedly injured civilians.

The head of Russia’s Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said Sunday that the bodies of two civilians have been recovered following an alleged Ukrainian attack on Saturday.

The dueling claims highlight the deep mistrust between the two sides and underscore the difficulty of enforcing even temporary pauses in fighting.

Past ceasefire attempts have collapsed quickly, with both nations routinely blaming each other. A similar truce declared by Putin last Easter also unraveled amid accusations of violations from both sides.

Irena Bulhakova told The Associated Press at a holiday gathering outside Kyiv that she had her doubts about any ceasefires as Russia’s four-year war on Ukraine drags on.

“Every time a ceasefire is announced for a holiday, the shelling continues regardless,” she said.

Reflecting on the meaning of the Orthodox Easter holiday, she added: “Good triumphs over darkness, and we hope for that very much.”

FBI Foils Plot: Man Arrested for Attempted Sniper Attack on Trump with Anti-Materiel Rifle

A man from Illinois has allegedly vowed to assassinate President Donald Trump on the White House lawn using a “heavy caliber” anti-materiel sniper rifle. The Justice Department reports that he informed the CIA of his intentions, stating, “I am plotting to kill the president … in an ambush.”

Michael Kovco, a 29-year-old resident of Chicago, is accused of sending threatening messages via the official CIA and White House websites, expressing a desire to target not only Trump but also U.S. Secret Service agents and Trump’s son, Barron, in a coordinated series of attacks.

According to the DOJ’s federal complaint, Kovco wrote to the CIA on August 15, 2025, requesting a “clear line of fire from the White House to Marine One” for Trump’s next garden departure. The weapon mentioned, an anti-materiel rifle, is a large-caliber firearm typically used to destroy military assets.

Months later, on March 17, 2026, Kovco allegedly sent another message to the White House, threatening to “take a serrated knife and saw Barron Trump’s head off” after positioning a high-caliber sniper rifle to target the White House Lawn from a nearby spot.

In his messages, Kovco declared his “absolute intent” to plan and execute an assassination attempt on the President, emphasizing the seriousness of his threats, as stated in the complaint.

On March 19, Kovco referred to himself as an “admiral” and allegedly said, “I intend to purchase a high caliber assault rifle with a large magazine and assemble several improvised explosive devices within my home … and leave them in several key places around Washington DC until I get justice for my rape from the US government.”

The DOJ says Kovco threatened to “hunt” any Secret Service agent that comes to his door. “He better not tell me any identifying information at all like first or last name or pet name or address or place of work because im going to buy a small concealable firearm and go shoot up his place of work immediately if he tells me anything,” Kovco said in his March 19 messages to the White House, per the complaint.

The messages were allegedly sent just two hours after a federal agent and two Secret Service task force officers visited Kovco’s residence in Chicago to inquire about the threats he made on March 17.

While threatening Barron Trump, Kovco allegedly said, “I’m literally gonna find out how Barron Trump walks around in NYC or DC or wherever the f— he is and run at him with a serrated bread knife and saw that motherf—ers head off.”

Federal authorities linked Kovco to the threats after he included his personal contact information with the messages, including his phone number and email address.

Kovco was arrested on April 3 and charged with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce, according to a DOJ press release. He faces up to five years in federal prison, if convicted.

South Carolina’s Groundbreaking Coercive Control Bill: A Game-Changer for Domestic Abuse Victims

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Advocates against domestic violence are making significant strides in their long-standing campaign to criminalize coercive control, with a pivotal step occurring this week. A state Senate panel is poised to receive feedback on this crucial issue.

On Wednesday at 9 a.m., a subcommittee within the Senate Judiciary will review S. 702, a proposal backed by Republican Senators Stephen Goldfinch from Murrells Inlet and Larry Grooms from Bonneau.

This legislation, often referred to as “Mica’s Law” even before its official introduction, seeks to define coercive control in legal terms.

  • Isolating the person from friends, relatives, or other sources of support;
  • Depriving the other person of basic necessities;
  • Monitoring the person’s communications, movements, daily activities and behavior, finances, economic resources, or access to services;
  • Frequent name-calling, degrading and demeaning of the other person;
  • Threatening to harm or kill the person or a child or relative;
  • Threatening to publish private information or make reports of defamatory or false claims to police or authorities;
  • Compelling the other person by force, threat of force, or intimidation to engage in conduct from which the other person has a right to abstain or to abstain from conduct in which the other party has a right to engage; or
  • Engaging in reproductive coercion which consists of control over the reproductive autonomy of a person through force, threat of force, or intimidation.

Stephen Goldfinch, currently vying for the role of attorney general, has expressed his endorsement of naming the bill “Mica’s Law” as a tribute to Mica Miller.

The South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault has placed this proposal on its list of legislative priorities for 2026.

Police say Mica died by suicide in April 2024 at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County, North Carolina. Soon after, allegations from friends and family of hers surfaced accusing her husband at the time, Myrtle Beach pastor John-Paul Miller of coercive control gaining national attention.

Mica’s story has rippled across South Carolina and the country when it comes to raising awareness about domestic violence and coercive control.

The committee hearing will be livestreamed on the General Assembly’s website.

A recently published report in the Richmond Journal of Law and Technology suggests that stronger coercive control laws are even more necessary as methods of contact become more sophisticated.

“As technology evolves, domestic violence law must adapt accordingly. Abuse is no longer confined to physical injury or shared spaces but is increasingly carried out through devices, networks, and digital surveillance. Recognizing coercive control, including its technological forms, is essential to providing meaningful protection to survivors,” the report says.

Several states including California, Connecticut and Hawaii have adopted “coercive control” laws, while similar efforts are pending in Florida, Maryland, New York and Washington, according to the group Americas Conference to End Coercive Control.

Update: Firefighters Continue Efforts at Vacant Champaign Park Apartments Blaze

Update at 4:50 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A single crew from the Champaign Fire Department continues to address the situation at the Champaign Park Apartments. As of 4:27 p.m., officials have reopened South County Fair Drive, although the fire crew remains at the scene.

Update at 1:28 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Firefighters, police officers, and investigators are still on site after a fire erupted Saturday morning at the vacant Champaign Park Apartments. The complex, which was scheduled for demolition following a settlement last month, remains a focal point of ongoing emergency response efforts.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Fire and police crews and investigators remain on the scene of a blaze that started Saturday morning at the unoccupied Champaign Park Apartments, which were slated for demolition in a settlement last month.

Deputy Fire Marshal Jeremy Mitchell with Champaign Fire told WCIA 3 that at approximately 10:30 a.m., the department was dispatched to a working fire in the Champaign Park Apartments, which Mitchell said are in the process of being vacated and getting ready to be torn down.

Upon arrival, the first arriving engine company found that there was heavy smoke coming from a basement apartment. Crews decided to do an exterior attack, given that they did not know the condition of the buildings because they have been unoccupied and are not in great condition, according to Mitchell.

He said as the fire progressed, the department noticed that it extended up through the interior of the walls into the attic, which turned into a well-developed attic fire. A second alarm was then struck — which brought a ladder truck from the Urbana Fire Department.

Mitchell said they were helping Champaign Fire with flowing aerial master streams — using large amounts of water from the top of their ladder trucks. As the attic fire grew, conditions inside weren’t safe enough for firefighters to be inside.

He confirmed the building was empty at the time of the fire.

“We expect to be here for quite some time,” Mitchell said. “It’s shaping up to be kind of a long-term operation for us.”

Cornbelt Fire Protection District arrived on scene to help Champaign Fire respond to other calls happening elsewhere throughout the city during this incident.

Mitchell said six fire engine pumper trucks, two hook and ladder trucks, the Champaign Fire command vehicle and all staff chiefs are on scene. He also said that due to the large nature of the fire, three fire investigators are on scene.

He added that two ambulances are on standby, as well as the medical director from Carle Hospital in case there are any injuries. No injuries have been reported at this time.

The Champaign Police Department also closed off Country Fair Drive for the fire department, so they have room to work.

Mitchell said fire investigators were not initially able to make entry into the building because the fire department was trying to determine the stability of the building, meaning the cause of blaze is unknown at this time.

He added that Country Fair Drive is likely to be closed for the foreseeable future while fire crews fight the fire. Mitchell said the Champaign Park Apartments are close together, so the department is trying to make sure the fire doesn’t extend to the other buildings. He urged drivers to use alternate routes away from Country Fair Drive.

He said in 2022-23, Champaign Fire had issues with vagrancy — people wandering from place to place — at the property. This was even before the March 10, 2026, agreement that was reached upon by the city, the apartment complex owner, Champaign Apartments Owner, LLC and more.

WCIA 3 previously reported that on the Champaign Park Apartments property, there are 29 abandoned apartment budlings, with a total of 504 residential units.

In this settlement, on July 18, 2025, the Court found after a hearing where evidence was presented that the owner had abandoned this property, all buildings on the property were condemned, the property was to be vacated and no one was to rent, use, lease or occupy any buildings.

They also found that the property posed a life-threatening hazard in its current condition and that the city had no other remedy at law to abate the conditions. The Court then issued an injunction for the duration of this case that the property was to remain vacant, and authorized the city to vacate, board and secure the property.

With the passing of the city bill, the first deadline for the agreement was set to be a fully completed application for a demolition permit that must be received by the city no later than Oct. 13, 2026.

Mitchell added that the apartments are secured with plywood, so that it would be hard for someone to break into them. With that being said, he reiterated that the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

He said he is grateful for the help they have received during this incident.

“It’s proof that on a major operation like this, no one does it alone, so Champaign Fire appreciates Urbana Fire Rescue coming over, Corn Belt Fire District for helping us run calls in our town, Carle Arrow Ambulance coming out,” Mitchell said. “There’s more to it than just fighting the fire on something like this, so we like that we have some help from our friends.”

Other assisting agencies included:

  • METCAD 9-1-1
  • Champaign Public Works Department
  • Champaign Neighborhood Services Department
  • The Salvation Army
  • Illinois American Water Company
  • Savoy Fire Deaprtment

As a result of this fire, multiple CU Mass Transit routes have had to reroute. They said due to the fire, West Springfield Avenue is closed between Kenwood Road and Country Fair Drive. As a result, the 180 Lime route from Saturday during the day to Sunday during the day will be affected.

Another affected CU Mass Transit route is the 70 Grey route, which is expected to be affected from Saturday during the day through Saturday night.

This is an ongoing story. WCIA 3 will continue to provide updates as new information is received.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Fire and police crews are currently on the scene of a blaze that started Saturday morning at the abandoned Champaign Park Apartments property.

At approximately 10:24 a.m., the Champaign Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment building in the 300 block of South Country Fair Drive for the report of smoke showing. On scene, a WCIA 3 reporter observed heavy fire on the roof of the apartment building.

The Champaign Police Department is also currently on scene blocking off roads in the area to keep the public at a safe distance away and allow the fire department room to work. As of 11:47 a.m., crews remain on scene.

This fire is taking place at the Champaign Park Apartments, which is abandoned and condemned. WCIA 3 reported last month that Champaign City Council passed a settlement for the destruction of these apartments, which Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen said has been years in the making.

There is no further information at this time.

This is an ongoing story. WCIA 3 will continue to provide updates as new information is received.

Chilling 911 Recording Unveils Details of Chick-fil-A Incident

0

Alarming 911 calls have shed light on the terrifying scene that unfolded at a Chick-fil-A in New Jersey, as gunfire erupted within the establishment.

On Saturday, the fast-food venue on Route 22 in Union Township became the site of a violent attack, where masked assailants opened fire, resulting in six injuries and one fatality.

The specifics of the attack are still unclear, but authorities suspect it was a deliberate assault, assuring the public that there is currently no ongoing threat to the area.

A substantial emergency response was mobilized following the incident, and a distressing 911 recording captured a dispatcher relaying the grim details of the chaotic aftermath.

The dispatcher reported, “I have an unconscious witness, one individual shot in the face, and at least two others with leg injuries,” according to audio accessed by CBS News New York.

The victims and suspects have not yet been identified. The motive of the attack remains unclear.

A local who lives a block away from the location previously told the Daily Mail they heard ‘a ruckus’ as well as sirens blaring hours after the shooting ended.

The father of a Chick-fil-A worker said his son told him multiple armed suspects in masks burst into the fast food joint.

At least six people were injured and one was killed after masked suspects stormed into the Chick-fil-A on Route 22 in Union Township, New Jersey, on Saturday evening. Victims were seen being loaded into ambulances after witnesses said at least seven shots rang out

The unnamed parent described the busy eatery as a ‘warzone’, and said several of his son’s co-workers had been injured.

Union County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Lauren Farinas told NJ.com that it is conducting ‘an active and ongoing investigation.’

‘More information will be released as it becomes available,’ Farinas stated.

Another man whose girlfriend works at the restaurant told CBS that the group of suspects barged in and went directly behind the counter, firing multiple shots.

A Lyft driver told ABC that he was finishing a drop-off near the Chick-fil-A when he heard more than seven shots fired.

‘I finished my trip over there, in the return zone. I heard the shots. When I finished the trip, I go to Chick-fil-A to buy two burgers – I see the police, I heard the shots very close,’ he said.

Footage showed victims being loaded into ambulances after witnesses said at least seven shots rang out.

The Chick-fil-A is located at 2139 US 22 in Union, New Jersey. The town is located just over 15 miles outside of New York City.

A parking lot off of Route 22 was also completely closed off amidst the violence, and the location was sent into lockdown.

Former New Jersey Assemblyman Jamel Holley posted a statement about the shooting on social media.

‘Numerous people are injured & one confirmed dead as emergency crews are on the scene responding to a mass shooting after gunfire erupted inside a Chick-fil-A in Union, New Jersey,’ he wrote. ‘Keep everyone in your prayers.’

New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill also released a statement following the violent shooting.

‘I have been briefed on the shooting last night in Union Township. As local law enforcement continues their investigation, we remain in close contact with officials on the ground,’ she said.

‘My thoughts are with those who were injured in the shooting, and with their families.

‘I am grateful to our first responders for their swift action and continued efforts to keep the community safe.’

Union Township Mayor Patricia Guerra-Frazier shared on Sunday that the ‘community is heartbroken and shaken by the tragic act of violence’.

‘On behalf of the Township of Union, we are keeping all those affected in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

‘The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and we are working closely with all of our law enforcement partners as the investigation continues.

‘At this time, I urge anyone with information to come forward and assist authorities.

‘This tragedy is a painful reminder of the work that remains to ensure the safety of our communities.

‘Violence has no place in the Township of Union, and we will continue to stand together—stronger and more united—in the face of it.’

When contacted by the Daily Mail, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson said: ‘No statement to share at this point as it’s an ongoing investigation.’

Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said that this remains ‘an active and ongoing investigation’.

The agency is offering an award up to $10,000 for anyone who brings information to police that leads to an indictment or conviction of a suspect involved in the shooting, the statement continued.

Nancy Mace’s Impressive Physique Rivals Kristi Noem’s in Fitness Showdown

Displaying their conservative principles like the latest fashion trend, MAGA women aren’t shying away from showing a little skin. This includes Nancy Mace, South Carolina’s gubernatorial candidate, who gave Kristi Noem, the former DHS Secretary, some fashion competition during the first debate on April 2, 2026. While Mace often makes headlines for her more controversial actions, her choice of a burgundy pencil skirt at the debate sparked quite the conversation.

In a sea of male opponents clad in navy and black suits, Mace stood out not just for her bold color choice but also for how her skirt highlighted her well-toned legs. She completed her ensemble with nude stilettos, accentuating her calves, and setting a standard for Republican women on how to balance elegance with allure. Among those who could learn from Mace’s style is the former head of Homeland Security, Noem, known for her occasionally distracting fashion choices.

Mace stood out among her opponents, all men dressed in either navy or black suits, not only because of her color choice, but also because her skirt put her killer legs on full display. The gubernatorial candidate paired her outfit with nude stilettos that helped showcase her defined calves. Mace gave other Republican women a lesson in showing skin while keeping it classy. Among those who should take note is the ousted head of Homelandland Security. Noem has worn some pretty inappropriate outfits that were often too distracting.

Although Kristi Noem no longer serves in the Trump administration, her “ICE Barbie” persona remains memorable. Interestingly, South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace once emulated Noem’s signature look. Shortly after Noem’s confirmation hearing in January 2025, amid her controversial immigration raids, Mace expressed her support for Trump’s immigration policies on X.

To convey her message, Mace took inspiration from Noem’s fashion, donning a tactical vest while sitting in her car. “We’re not just talking about deporting illegal aliens — we’re out here seeing it in action for ourselves — firsthand,” she captioned. “South Carolina needs bold leadership to support President Trump’s America First agenda deporting the bad guys and putting our people first. It helps to have sheriffs who work with ICE too.” Although Mace’s immigration views remain steadfast, her support for Noem has shifted.

In March 2026, Mace demanded an investigation into Noem regarding the former DHS secretary’s controversial $220 million ad campaign, which featured her in cowboy attire on horseback. “I don’t think she walks away from this, and she shouldn’t, because as Republicans, we need to hold our own accountable because President Trump is trying to re-instill trust in our institutions, in Congress, in the White House,” Mace stated to Newsmax, supporting Trump’s decision to remove Noem from her position.

To send her message, Mace found it necessary to take a page from Noem’s fashion book and put on a tactical vest while sitting safely in her car (seen above). “We’re not just talking about deporting illegal aliens — we’re out here seeing it in action for ourselves — firsthand,” she captioned the post. “South Carolina needs bold leadership to support President Trump’s America First agenda deporting the bad guys and putting our people first. It helps to have sheriffs who work with ICE too.” Mace’s stance on immigration has remained unchanged, but her support of Noem has not.

In March 2026, Mace called for an investigation into Noem over the former DHS secretary’s controversial $220 million ads that featured her in cowboy attire on horseback. “I don’t think she walks away from this, and she shouldn’t, because as Republicans, we need to hold our own accountable because President Trump is trying to re-instill trust in our institutions, in Congress, in the White House,” Mace told Newsmax, adding that Trump made the right call in ousting Noem.

Isaac Fayose’s Claims on Military Salaries Ignite Debate: South African Earns ₦2m Monthly Compared to Nigerian’s Annual ₦2m

Renowned businessman and social commentator, Isaac Fayose, has ignited discussions online by drawing attention to the disparity in military salaries between South Africa and Nigeria. He pointed out what he perceives as a considerable wage gap between the two nations.

In a social media video that has gained traction, Fayose asserted that South African soldiers enjoy significantly higher monthly incomes compared to their Nigerian counterparts, who receive much lower annual compensation despite being part of the same continent.

“In South Africa, the minimum salary for a soldier is ₦2 million per month, while in Nigeria, soldiers, naval officers, and police earn ₦2 million per year. This is all within Africa. This discrepancy is why Nigerian soldiers act the way they do,” Fayose remarked.

He emphasized that this pay imbalance negatively impacts the morale and effectiveness of Nigeria’s security forces, suggesting that inadequate compensation contributes to undesirable behavior among the ranks.

Recently, these issues were highlighted by a former soldier known as ‘Soja Boy.’ He made headlines after being dismissed for urging politicians to deploy their children to the front lines, revealing startling insights into the military’s challenges.

He spoke about alleged unfair treatment within the Nigerian military, claiming personnel earn about ₦109,000 monthly, an amount he said was recently increased from ₦71,000.

Fayose’s comments have since reignited debates around military welfare, national security funding, and the treatment of security personnel across Africa, with many Nigerians sharing mixed reactions online.

‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Soars to $629 Million Global Box Office Triumph

“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” has continued its stellar performance in theaters, achieving remarkable box office success during its second weekend.

According to estimates released on Sunday, the sequel from Universal and Illumination raked in an additional $69 million from 4,284 theaters across the U.S. and Canada. This has propelled its domestic earnings to $308.1 million, while its worldwide haul has reached an impressive $629 million.

The sequel experienced a 48% drop in ticket sales compared to its opening weekend—a relatively modest decline for a blockbuster of this scale. However, the gap between this sequel and its predecessor appears to be widening. By its second weekend in 2023, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which garnered more favorable reviews, had already amassed over $353 million domestically. Despite this, the sequel is undeniably a success, especially considering its production budget was just $110 million.

Paul Dergarabedian, Comscore’s head of marketplace trends, commented on the film’s performance, describing it as “a very respectable” hold.

“The fact that the film has already surpassed $300 million is simply astonishing,” Dergarabedian remarked, highlighting that a significant portion of the sales likely came from discounted children’s tickets. “Reaching these box office milestones is even more impressive under these circumstances.”

The movie is also helping power up box office momentum before the summer movie season begins in May.

The weekend’s big new opener was also a Universal release: The travelogue romantic comedy “You, Me & Tuscany,” starring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page of “Bridgerton” fame. It debuted in fourth place with an estimated $8 million from 3,151 screens against a reported production budget of $18 million. Women made up an overwhelming 80% of the audience.

Directed by Kat Coiro, the movie arrived in theaters with mixed to positive reviews. According to a review by The Associated Press, it’s “a movie as frothy and insubstantial as the foam on a nice cappuccino.” It currently holds a 68% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Audiences seemed to enjoy it a bit more. According to PostTrak exit polls, 77% of ticket buyers said they would “definitely recommend” it to friends. It also got an A- on CinemaScore.

Jim Orr, Universal’s head of domestic distribution, said the audience reaction scores, “point to a very nice run at the box office.”

Second place at the box office this week went to Amazon MGM Studios’ “Project Hail Mary,” which is still drawing double-digit ticket sales in its fourth weekend. It added an estimated $24.6 million from Friday to Sunday, bringing its domestic total to $256.7 million. Worldwide, it has earned $510.6 million.

“The Drama” took third place in its second weekend, with $8.7 million. The buzzy A24 movie about an engaged couple played by Robert Pattinson and Zendaya fell only 38%, bringing its domestic total to $30.8 million and its worldwide total to $65 million.

Disney and Pixar’s “Hoppers” rounded out the top five in its sixth weekend with $4.1 million. The animated movie has made $354.4 million globally to date.

Another bright spot was the Japanese video game adaptation “Exit 8,” which made $1.4 million from only 490 theaters and landed in seventh place. Directed by Genki Kawamura, the Neon-distributed film is sitting at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.
