In 2026, navigating the digital dating scene is no easy feat, yet one 35-year-old woman is resolutely maintaining her standards, particularly when it comes to preserving her virginity.
Lauren Harkins, who has never been in a romantic relationship or shared an intimate moment with someone, also hasn’t experienced a traditional date.
However, this hasn’t deterred the content creator. She staunchly defends her lifestyle choices, identifying herself as a “late bloomer” and asserting that remaining a virgin as an adult is more prevalent than commonly realized.
Lauren Hirkins says many don’t believe her when she says she’s never had sex, claiming she’s a “liar.” Jam Press
“There’s no need to label it as ‘late’—people should progress at their own pace. Everyone follows their own unique timeline,” Harkins, who frequently shares her journey on social media, explained to creatorzine.com.
“It’s something I’ve been comfortable sharing, and I see being set apart as a strength,” she said.
Harkins admits that a stigma around being a virgin still exists. The content creator points out that society still “clings to these outdated assumptions around virginity – especially adult virginity – as if it automatically signals something fragile, sheltered, or socially stunted.”
Although many adult virgins don’t openly talk about it, based on the volume of comments and messages I receive, it’s clear there are far more people in that position than most would expect,” she admitted.
Contrary to what most would assume, Harkins isn’t saving herself for marriage or for religious reasons. “There is nothing I love more than being able to shatter these stereotypes, as someone who is continually told I don’t ‘look’ or ‘act’ like a virgin,” she said.
The 35-year-old refuses to settle and knows what is meant to be will be. Jam Press
Harkins explained that judgey people usually “claim that I’m lying, ‘expired,’ attention-seeking, narcissistic, you name it.” And at this point, the 35-year-old insists none of it fazes her.
Despite it all, Harkins is hopeful that she will find her happily ever after one day, but isn’t in a rush. “I don’t feel the need to force anything; I’d rather wait for the relationship – and the man – that feels genuinely meant for me.”
To further validate her decision, Harkins said that she found comfort in the fact that singer Lizzo recently admitted to losing her virginity in 2020 after promising herself she wouldn’t have sex until she won a Grammy award.
The 37-year-old singer admitted to originally lying about it, implying she already had sex — but when Harkins learned this, she was relieved. “It’s refreshing when someone is honest about something that’s usually kept hidden,” she said.
“What stood out most to me wasn’t the timeline, but the fact that she made a personal decision and stood by it,” she added.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Caleb James Martin, 20, who had been evading law enforcement since May due to a probation violation and faced additional warrants for domestic battery and stalking issued in March, was apprehended last night in a neighborhood near the University of Florida campus.
Late in the evening, around 11:53 p.m. on April 10, officers from the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) were called to the 1400 block of West University Avenue. They came to assist colleagues from the University of Florida Police Department (UFPD) and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) after Martin reportedly fled from a UFPD officer and entered a nearby residential area.
A UFPD officer eventually located and detained Martin, with GPD officers proceeding to formally arrest him. During the arrest, a search reportedly uncovered a bag containing approximately 3.2 grams of fentanyl.
In April 2025, Martin pleaded nolo contendere to charges of possessing a firearm as an adjudicated delinquent and resisting an officer without violence. Judge James Colaw opted to withhold a formal adjudication of guilt, instead sentencing Martin to one year of community control (house arrest), followed by two years of probation.
One month later, on May 11, 2025, he allegedly fled from a traffic stop, crashed the car, and then fled on foot. A sworn complaint was filed, but no warrant has been issued, and Martin has not been booked on the charges from that incident.
However, Martin was instructed to report to the community control officer at least once a week, and on May 13, 2025, he failed to report; a violation affidavit was filed, alleging that he had moved from the address he gave the community control officer, committed new criminal offenses, failed to report, and was not at his residence when an officer checked on him on May 14. A warrant for his arrest was issued on May 20, 2025.
On February 19, 2026, Martin allegedly punched his girlfriend and choked her until she was unconscious, preventing her from talking to deputies who arrived in response to her 911 call, which was abruptly ended. The same victim told an ASO deputy on March 15 that Martin was stalking her and had threatened to kill her, and the deputy reported that Martin called the victim multiple times from a blocked number while he was taking the victim’s report. Warrants for both of those incidents were issued on March 16.
Martin has been charged with violating probation, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, hindering communication with law enforcement, aggravated stalking, possession of fentanyl, and resisting an officer without violence. Judge David Kreider ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
SEFFNER, Fla. (WFLA) — Tragedy struck Saturday night in Seffner when a teenage boy lost his life in a car accident, and authorities are actively seeking one of the drivers who escaped on foot after the incident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 17-year-old was behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Passat, traveling west on MLK Jr. Boulevard just before 11 p.m. on April 11. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man from Mulberry was driving a Nissan Versa from the opposite direction.
After a hiatus of four years, Euphoria makes its much-anticipated return this evening on HBO, marking the start of its third and concluding season.
Since the intense and emotional finale of its second season, where fans experienced heartbreak over Ashtray (Javon Walton) and enjoyed the quirky Oklahoma! references, the series’ cast has seen their careers soar to incredible heights. Zendaya has become a global sensation, while both Colman Domingo and Jacob Elordi have received Oscar nominations. Sydney Sweeney has emerged as a formidable presence in both the box office and pop culture. However, the journey has not been without sorrow; in 2023, the cast mourned the loss of Angus Cloud, who tragically passed away due to a drug overdose. With so many changes, this new season promises to reflect these significant shifts.
Set approximately five years after the events of Season 2, the latest season of Euphoria finds its characters navigating intertwined lives in Los Angeles. Rue (Zendaya) remains caught in the relentless cycle of addiction, now working for Laurie (Martha Kelly) in roles that involve running errands and transporting drugs. Jules (Hunter Schafer) has taken on the role of a sugar baby to financially support her artistic endeavors. Meanwhile, Lexi (Maude Apatow) has found her footing as a production assistant on a popular soap opera, and Maddy (Alexa Demie) has ventured into talent management. Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) continue their relationship, planning an extravagant wedding, with Cassie considering joining OnlyFans to contribute financially.
Curious about the future paths of these characters? You’ll need to tune in to Euphoria to discover what lies ahead. Here’s everything you need to catch the premiere of Season 3…

UNION, New Jersey — A tragic shooting at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in New Jersey has left one person dead and several others injured.
The incident unfolded around 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Chick-fil-A located on Route 22 in Union, sparking chaos and concern among patrons and nearby residents.
When police arrived on the scene, they discovered seven individuals had been shot. Tragically, one victim succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining six sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
Authorities have yet to make any arrests. However, initial investigations suggest that this shooting was not a random act of violence, and officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to community safety.
While no arrests have been made at this time, a preliminary investigation reveals the incident does not appear to be a random act of violence and that there is no immediate ongoing threat to the general public.
On Sunday morning, New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill issued a statement responding to the shooting, saying in part, “I have been briefed on the shooting last night in Union Township. As local law enforcement continues their investigation, we remain in close contact with officials on the ground.”
“My thoughts are with those who were injured in the shooting, and with their families.”
All Chick-fil-A locations are closed on Sundays.
ABC New York affiliate WABC spoke to a father of one of the Chick-fil-A workers on Saturday night. He says that his son called him in a panic, saying that multiple suspects wearing masks entered the establishment. He also says several of his co-workers were injured in a shooting.
The father says he drove to the eatery and described what he called a “warzone.”
A Lyft driver named Martin said he was finishing a trip nearby and heard more than seven shots.
“I finished my trip over there, in the return zone. I heard the shots. When I finished the trip I go to Chick-fil-A to buy two burgers — I see the police, I heard the shots very close,” he says.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office says it is an ongoing investigation. Authorities are also trying to determine a motive for the shooting as part of their investigation.
Haotong Li nearly pulled out of The Masters on Friday morning. As he approaches the first tee on Sunday, trailing by just four strokes, he’ll be relieved he decided to stay in the competition.
The Chinese golfer confessed that he spent Thursday night battling illness, unsure if he could manage a full round at Augusta National. His goal was merely to “survive the day,” which he thankfully accomplished.
Fast forward 24 hours, and Li did more than just endure. Despite still feeling unwell on Saturday, he propelled himself into contention. Whatever ailment plagued him, The Masters proved to be a rejuvenating force.
Clad entirely in white—a daring outfit for someone who had been glued to the bathroom the day before—Li delivered an impressive three-under-par 69 during Saturday’s play, bringing his total to seven-under.
As he enters his third Masters tournament and first since 2019, the 30-year-old finds himself a mere four shots from the lead. Adding to the excitement, he’ll be playing alongside world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in the final round.
To look at Li’s scorecard on Saturday, no one would have been any the wiser that he was battling anything other than arduous Augusta. While he may not be, it was a clean bill of health.
Haotong Li shot a three-under 69 on moving day to put himself in Masters contention
The impressive display at Augusta came after Li admitted he had been battling illness
If three birdies through the opening five holes weren’t enough evidence of Li’s recovery, then the eagle three at the eighth certainly was. Splitting the fairway with his drive, Li dialled in his second to a foot of the pin.
Suddenly, a full-strength Li found himself among the challengers and fighting fit to hunt down Rory McIlroy.
Perhaps the toll of the past 48 hours and the repeated bathroom trips began to set in on the back nine, the battle against illness and Augusta ultimately too much. For that’s where the only blemishes in Li’s round could be found.
Li found treacherous Rae’s Creek winding in front of the raised 13th green with his second shot. He suffered a similar watery fate on 15. His second shot into the green at the par-five barely left the ground. It shockingly scuttled along the fairway before trundling into the water.
This time, Li reprimanded himself for taking a splash, clipping himself around the ear. As if his body needed any further punishment this week.
‘Just some negative thoughts between my backswing. Somehow something clicked, I don’t know. Yeah, very disappointed,’ he said of the moment following his round.
Li may be disappointed. But he shouldn’t be.
Heading into Sunday, most of the names atop The Masters leaderboard are familiar. McIlroy, Scheffler, Young, Lowry, Burns; they’re the headliners. And, despite his bathroom battles, Li finds himself among them.
The Chinese star will tee it up alongside world No 1 in the final round at Augusta National
Li found treacherous Rae’s Creek winding in front of the raised 13th green on Saturday
He may be a surprise contender, but Li certainly adds an entertaining element to Sunday.
Even without his digestive issues, Li’s journey back to The Masters has been resilient. He delivered a breakout performance at the 2017 Open Championship, shooting a blistering 63 on the final day to finish third behind Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar.
Li nearly retired from golf in 2021 after missing 13 of 16 cuts on the DP World Tour. After winning a tournament in Dubai over none other than Masters co-leader McIlroy in 2018, he went over four years without carding a win.
As a result, Li hadn’t appeared at The Masters since 2019, when he played the first two rounds with none other than eventual winner and legend Tiger Woods.
But he has proved himself on golf’s greatest stages. He found himself in contention at last year’s Open Championship where he was also paired alongside Scheffler.
At Royal Portrush, Li and Scheffler headed out in the final pairing. Most people would expect stoicism from the duo dueling for the Claret Jug. But nothing is ever stoic when Li is around.
Scheffler went on to win and Li finished fourth, unlocking his spot at this year’s Masters, but to look at the pair, it resembled any other knockaround round between friends.
They were captured chatting and laughing throughout the round. And, when later asked about the hilarity, Li shared one of Scheffler’s punchlines.
Li and Scheffler played together in the final pairing of the 2025 Open Championship
Li said he learned to speak English from watching Kevin Hart, who caddied for Bryson DeChambeau in the Masters Par-Three contest on Wednesday
‘I just said, is there any time I can practice with you when I go to the PGA Tour, and he said yes,’ Li said. ‘But I said, when I text you, you better reply to me.’
‘And he goes, “Haotong Who?”,’ Li said. ‘That was actually funny. Just a lovely guy to play with, and I enjoyed.’
On Sunday, Li heads out with his old pal Scheffler once again. They sit four shots back of Rory McIlroy and Cam Young’s lead., but no doubt they’ll exchange a crack or two in between their hunt of the leaders.
Li’s outsized personality and eccentric character are great assets to the game of golf, which is often viewed as buttoned-up.
For most golfers, making it to The Masters alone is a dream come true, but for Li this week at Augusta has fulfilled fantasies.
He revealed to the ‘Smylie Show’ in February that he learned English from watching Kevin Hart. On Wednesday, he got to meet his idol.
‘You’re my hero!’ he yelled, then exclaimed, ‘Let’s f***ing go!’ on live television when he saw the comedian caddying for Bryson DeChambeau during the Par-Three contest.
‘Obviously met Kevin Hart in person,’ he said of the moment following Saturday’s round. ‘Feel like [Wednesday was more important] than a golf tournament.’
Many would disagree. Heading into Masters Sunday alongside the world No. 1 and the green jacket on the line may just hold some importance.
In the captivating series Solo Leveling, protagonist Sung Jin-Woo begins his journey as the weakest among hunters. However, his fortunes change dramatically when he acquires the Shadow Monarch’s Shadow Extraction ability. This power allows him to resurrect his vanquished foes as shadows who fight under his command. Over time, his Shadow Army becomes an indomitable force, bolstered by formidable fighters like Beru, Igris, and Bellion.
Despite the seemingly invincible nature of the Shadow Army in Solo Leveling, there are characters from other anime universes who could still pose a significant threat. These characters possess extraordinarily high power levels. Their abilities range from sorcery techniques that nullify physical attacks to cosmic powers capable of wielding entire galaxies as weapons.
Take Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King and primary antagonist of Demon Slayer, for example. If he were to face the Shadow Army, his ability to regenerate would be a formidable obstacle. Muzan’s biokinesis grants him the power to instantly restructure his body. With seven hearts and five brains scattered within, finding a weakness for the Shadow Army to exploit becomes nearly impossible.
Muzan’s Regeneration Makes Him Nearly Impossible for the Shadow Army to Kill

As the Demon King and main antagonist of Demon Slayer, if the Shadow Army ever tried to stop him, the biggest issue would be Muzan’s regeneration. His biokinesis allows him to restructure his body instantly, and with seven hearts and five brains spread throughout his body, there’s no single weak point the Shadow Army can reliably target.
Muzan can also fragment his body into thousands of pieces and still reform completely, meaning the Shadow Army cannot finish him even if they overwhelm him physically. His final form makes things even worse with near-instant regeneration, full cellular control, and extreme stamina that most S-Class hunters would struggle to deal with.
Gojo’s Cursed Techniques Are Powerful Enough to Solo Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army
Gojo Satoru, born with Six Eyes and the Limitless technique for the first time in four hundred years, is the strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen. The Shadow Army’s biggest problem with Gojo is that they cannot physically touch him. His Infinity passively divides the space between him and any incoming attack, meaning every strike from Beru, Igris, and Bellion slows down before it reaches him.
If Gojo decides to actually attack, the moment he activates Unlimited Void, his Domain Expansion traps everything inside a space of infinite information, where endless stimuli overwhelm any shadow soldier caught inside and paralyze their mind and body. On top of that, Gojo’s Six Eyes give him superhuman sensory perception, so the Shadow Army’s coordination advantage completely disappears against him.
Aizen’s Immortality and Kyoka Suigetsu Make Him One of the Shadow Army’s Worst Nightmares
Against Sung Jin-Woo’s Shadow Army, Aizen brings two abilities that the Shadow Army has no clear answer for: the Hogyoku’s near-immortality and Kyoka Suigetsu’s complete hypnosis. He is extremely skilled at using these abilities, and uses them masterfully as the main antagonist of Bleach, being a former Soul Society captain who spent centuries manipulating others before revealing his goal of overthrowing the gods themselves.
Moreover, the Hogyoku constantly regenerates Aizen’s injuries to the point where even Ichigo’s most powerful attack, Mugetsu, only managed to incapacitate him temporarily. The bigger issue is Kyoka Suigetsu, which controls all five senses plus spiritual perception, making it impossible for fighters like Beru or Igris to reliably trust what they perceive and breaking the Shadow Army’s coordination.
Ainz Has Too Many Instant Death Spells for Jin-woo’s Shadow Army to Handle
Ainz Ooal Gown with arms spread wide in the Overlord dark fantasy anime series.Image via Madhouse
With over 700 abilities ranging from instant death to time manipulation. Ainz Ooal Gown is the Sorcerer King of Overlord and the most powerful magic caster in his world. Jin-woo’s Shadow Army has no answer to spells like Grasp Heart, which crushes an opponent’s heart and kills them instantly from a distance, and even when resisted, it still stuns the target.
Time Stop lets Ainz dismantle the Shadow Army by stopping time while he preloads spells that activate the instant it ends. His The Goal of All Life is Death takes things even further by allowing instant death spells to bypass all resistance and immunity for 12 seconds. The author of Overlord himself confirmed that both time stop, and instant death countermeasures are required to fight Ainz fairly, and the Shadow Army has neither.
Rimuru Goes From A Bottom-Tier Monster to a Literal God
Rimuru Tempest starts That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime as a seemingly weak slime, but his Gluttony ability makes him exponentially more dangerous with every fight, letting him absorb defeated enemies and inherit their abilities. By Season 2, he evolves into a True Demon Lord, a transformation that elevates his power and makes opponents who once posed a threat completely insignificant.
Later, Rimuru gains Raphael, an ability that lets him analyze opponents and figure out how to defeat them. He eventually evolves even further, combining his abilities into a power called Azathoth, a void-based power that can erase enemies from existence entirely. Since Jin-woo’s Shadow Army relies on resurrection, that kind of ability removes one of their biggest advantages.
Yhwach Can See Every Future the Shadow Army Has and Rewrite All of Them
Yhwach holds his hand out toward the viewer in BleachImage via Studio Pierrot
As a result, Yhwach’s ability, the Almighty, lets him see every possible future at once and choose which one becomes reality. Yhwach would see all the Shadow Army’s efforts before they happen and solo Sung Jin-Woo’s Shadow Army by picking a future where none of it reaches him.
The Almighty goes beyond prediction, letting Yhwach rewrite futures where he dies and replace them with ones where he survives. Even if the Shadow Army somehow kills him, he can just pull a version of himself into the present where he’s still alive. There’s no real path to a permanent win against someone who can literally edit death out of his own timeline.
Anti-Spiral Plays With Entire Universes
Gurren Lagann’s Antispiral peeks up over the fabric of the cosmos.Image by Studio Gainax
Anti-Spiral is the most terrifying entity in Gurren Lagann, being a collective consciousness of an entire race that sealed away its own evolution and transcended normal existence. Anti-Spiral can reduce an enemy’s probability of winning to zero, literally manipulating the multidimensional laws of reality to make victory impossible for whoever it fights.
One of Anti-Spiral’s most insane feats is merging entire galaxies and firing them as a single attack known as the Infinity Big Bang Storm. Anti-Spiral can also trap enemies inside an infinite multiverse prison with no way out, and since the Shadow Army cannot fight something that exists beyond the dimensions they operate in, it can easily solo Sung Jin-Woo’s Shadow Army.
Goku Would Solo Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army Without Breaking a Sweat
Super Saiyan Goku scowls in Dragon Ball Z Kai Episode 47 Awaken, Legendary Warrior! Goku the Super Saiyan!Image via Toei Animation
Goku from Dragon Ball is one of the most iconic characters in anime. Over time, he has fought and defeated opponents capable of destroying entire universes and even multiverses. His strongest form, Ultra Instinct, lets his body move on its own, automatically dodging and countering attacks without any conscious effort.
Jin-woo’s continuous growth and regeneration are his biggest advantages in most fights, but both of them fall apart against Goku. A single Kamehameha from Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku carries enough destructive power to wipe out most of the Shadow Army, and even Jin-woo’s Ruler’s Authority wouldn’t be enough to turn the fight around.
Yogiri Only Needs One Word to Wipe Out the Shadow Army
Yogiri looks uninterested in My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered.Image via studio Okuruto Noboru
Yogiri Takato from My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered looks like an ordinary high school student, but in reality, he is the embodiment of death itself. His ability allows him to instantly kill anything he targets with a single thought, with no way to dodge or survive it once it activates. If he decides something should die, it simply does.
The ability also activates automatically, meaning anything that directly threatens him can be erased before the attack even makes contact. In that sense, the Shadow Army wouldn’t really get a chance to overwhelm him. The moment Yogiri defines them as a threat, the fight effectively ends right there.
Saitama Would End Jin-woo’s Entire Shadow Army With a Single Punch
Saitama raging with a bulging vein on his forehead in One-Punch Man Season 3Image via J.C.Staff
Saitama is one of the strongest characters in anime history, and One-Punch Man is built around the idea that he will always win. His Serious Punch alongside Cosmic Garou created an explosion that wiped out stars and left a massive void in space. He has survived multi-galaxy level attacks without a scratch and can destroy planets with the mere flick of the finger.
The Shadow Army’s only realistic shot at beating Saitama is a one-shot kill, because if the fight drags on, Saitama will only get stronger. Nothing in Jin-woo’s arsenal really scales close to the level of destruction Saitama casually tanks or produces, so the bald hero would easily solo Sung Jin-woo’s Shadow Army with a single punch.
On Sunday, tensions flared as Russia and Ukraine exchanged blame over numerous strikes, challenging the viability of a Kremlin-declared Easter truce that faltered shortly after its inception.
President Vladimir Putin of Russia announced a temporary ceasefire for the Orthodox Easter, instructing military forces to suspend hostilities from Saturday afternoon until the conclusion of Sunday. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accepted the ceasefire but cautioned that Kyiv would respond swiftly to any breaches.
Yet, the Easter truce seemed to unravel almost immediately.
According to Ukraine’s military, there were 2,299 reported breaches of the ceasefire by early Sunday morning. These included attacks, artillery fire, and minor drone operations, though there were no indications of deployment of long-range drones, missiles, or guided bombs.

A Ukrainian officer told The Associated Press that Russian troops continued attacking positions despite the declared truce.
Russia’s Defense Ministry fired back, accusing Ukrainian forces of 1,971 violations, including drone strikes in the border regions of Kursk and Belgorod that allegedly injured civilians.

The head of Russia’s Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said Sunday that the bodies of two civilians have been recovered following an alleged Ukrainian attack on Saturday.
The dueling claims highlight the deep mistrust between the two sides and underscore the difficulty of enforcing even temporary pauses in fighting.
Past ceasefire attempts have collapsed quickly, with both nations routinely blaming each other. A similar truce declared by Putin last Easter also unraveled amid accusations of violations from both sides.

Irena Bulhakova told The Associated Press at a holiday gathering outside Kyiv that she had her doubts about any ceasefires as Russia’s four-year war on Ukraine drags on.
“Every time a ceasefire is announced for a holiday, the shelling continues regardless,” she said.
Reflecting on the meaning of the Orthodox Easter holiday, she added: “Good triumphs over darkness, and we hope for that very much.”
In St. Augustine, an impressive turnout marked the 29th annual Taste of St. Augustine, a cherished event bringing together food enthusiasts and local culinary talents, all in support of EPIC Behavioral Healthcare.
On Sunday, the picturesque setting of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre became a bustling hub of flavors, as over 20 local restaurants and food trucks presented an array of delectable offerings. The event offered a chance for attendees to savor a diverse range of dishes, from savory entrees to indulgent desserts, all within a single venue.
Participants eagerly sampled some of the region’s beloved culinary creations, immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of St. Augustine’s gastronomy. For the local dining establishments, this gathering was more than just a showcase; it was an invaluable opportunity to connect with the community and present their signature dishes to eager palates.
The Taste of St. Augustine remains a vibrant tradition, blending the joy of food with the spirit of community support. As diners explored the various offerings, they contributed to a noble cause, reinforcing the event’s significance as both a culinary celebration and a charitable endeavor.
For local restaurants, the event also served as an opportunity to showcase their signature dishes while connecting directly with the community.
All proceeds from the event benefited EPIC Behavioral Healthcare, supporting addiction and mental health services in the community.
“We’ve been serving the St. Johns County community since 1973, so for a while, and we provide mental health and substance use prevention programs and treatment, both outpatient and inpatient,” said Teresa Andrews, director of development at EPIC Behavioral Healthcare.
She said the funds raised make a direct impact.
“So, all the proceeds for St. Augustine go to allow us to serve people who ordinarily wouldn’t get service cause they can’t pay, they don’t have insurance,” said Andrews. “We don’t turn people away for lack of ability to pay.”
President Donald Trump boards Air Force One to depart Joint Base Andrews, Md., Friday, May 23, 2025 (AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta).
A man from Illinois has allegedly vowed to assassinate President Donald Trump on the White House lawn using a “heavy caliber” anti-materiel sniper rifle. The Justice Department reports that he informed the CIA of his intentions, stating, “I am plotting to kill the president … in an ambush.”
Michael Kovco, a 29-year-old resident of Chicago, is accused of sending threatening messages via the official CIA and White House websites, expressing a desire to target not only Trump but also U.S. Secret Service agents and Trump’s son, Barron, in a coordinated series of attacks.
According to the DOJ’s federal complaint, Kovco wrote to the CIA on August 15, 2025, requesting a “clear line of fire from the White House to Marine One” for Trump’s next garden departure. The weapon mentioned, an anti-materiel rifle, is a large-caliber firearm typically used to destroy military assets.
Months later, on March 17, 2026, Kovco allegedly sent another message to the White House, threatening to “take a serrated knife and saw Barron Trump’s head off” after positioning a high-caliber sniper rifle to target the White House Lawn from a nearby spot.
In his messages, Kovco declared his “absolute intent” to plan and execute an assassination attempt on the President, emphasizing the seriousness of his threats, as stated in the complaint.
On March 19, Kovco referred to himself as an “admiral” and allegedly said, “I intend to purchase a high caliber assault rifle with a large magazine and assemble several improvised explosive devices within my home … and leave them in several key places around Washington DC until I get justice for my rape from the US government.”
The DOJ says Kovco threatened to “hunt” any Secret Service agent that comes to his door. “He better not tell me any identifying information at all like first or last name or pet name or address or place of work because im going to buy a small concealable firearm and go shoot up his place of work immediately if he tells me anything,” Kovco said in his March 19 messages to the White House, per the complaint.
The messages were allegedly sent just two hours after a federal agent and two Secret Service task force officers visited Kovco’s residence in Chicago to inquire about the threats he made on March 17.
While threatening Barron Trump, Kovco allegedly said, “I’m literally gonna find out how Barron Trump walks around in NYC or DC or wherever the f— he is and run at him with a serrated bread knife and saw that motherf—ers head off.”
Federal authorities linked Kovco to the threats after he included his personal contact information with the messages, including his phone number and email address.
Kovco was arrested on April 3 and charged with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce, according to a DOJ press release. He faces up to five years in federal prison, if convicted.
