Teacher’s Self-Inflicted Stabbing Sparks School Shutdown Hoax: Arrest Shocks Community

0

A Texas educator is facing legal trouble after allegedly staging a stabbing incident that led to a school lockdown.

Nicole Truelove, a teacher at Splendora High School, has been charged with tampering with evidence and making a false report to provoke an emergency response. These charges were announced during a press briefing by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and reported by Fox 26.

Currently, it remains unclear if the 53-year-old teacher has entered a plea, and efforts to contact her legal representation have been unsuccessful.

The incident unfolded on April 9 when a panic alarm was activated following claims that a student assaulted a teacher. This alarm triggered a campus lockdown and drew the attention of around 100 officers from various law enforcement agencies, according to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

During the lockdown, students were required to remain in their classrooms, as detailed in a statement from the Splendora Independent School District shared with Oxygen. Additionally, parents were notified to collect their children from the school.

However, after reviewing surveillance video, interviewing witnesses and collecting physical evidence, police determined Truelove’s injuries were self-inflicted and, per the press release, “the entire incident was a hoax.”

Truelove had scratch-like marks on her chest, according to a probable cause statement per KHOU, however, when a razor blade fell out from her shirt, she attempted to pick it up and conceal it.

Truelove’s bond was set at $20,000 ($5,000 for the misdemeanor and $15,000 for the felony), per the news station

“What a waste of resources,” the judge said in the footage, adding that if Truelove is released, she must wear a GPS tracking monitor and stay away from all Splendora Independent School District properties.

Truelove will next appear in court on May 6, a Montgomery County District Clerk spokesperson told Oxygen.

Police Investigate Katy Perry Following Ruby Rose’s Allegation of Misconduct

0

Ruby Rose has officially filed a police report concerning her explosive allegations involving pop sensation Katy Perry. According to Rose, this legal step signifies a pivotal moment that now restricts her from discussing the case publicly.

The actress asserted that the alleged incident took place nearly two decades ago at the Spice Market nightclub located in Melbourne, Australia.

On the social media platform Threads, the 40-year-old shared that the police’s involvement now prevents her from making further public comments on the issue.

“Detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are looking into a historical sexual assault reported to have happened in Melbourne in 2010,” stated Acting Sergeant Paul Hogan from Victoria Police, as reported by The California Post. “Authorities have been informed that the incident occurred at a licensed venue in Melbourne’s Central Business District.”

Rose posted on Threads, “As of today, I have completed all my reports. This means I am no longer permitted to comment, repost, or publicly discuss any of these cases or the people involved.”

She added that the restriction may give her some emotional breathing room despite the public attention surrounding the claims.

“It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people’s experiences, but I’m not,” the “Orange Is the New Black” star said. “This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief.”

Rose continued, “I can start the healing process now. And temporarily move forward. I love you all so much.”

The development comes after Rose made a series of allegations over the weekend, responding online to a Katy Perry clip involving Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance.

In a post on Threads, Rose wrote: “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s— what she thinks.”

When pressed by a user for more details, she described a disturbing incident and also said she initially reframed it as a joke to cope.

“After it I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it.”

She also alleged there were professional ties that kept her silent at the time.

“Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by… everyone.”

A representative for Perry strongly rejected the accusations, calling them completely untrue.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” the statement read. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Rose also said the alleged incident happened when she was in her early 20s and claimed she is now 40, saying it has taken nearly two decades to speak out publicly.

“I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” she wrote. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”

She also commented on what she described as the difficulty of speaking about alleged women-on-women violence.

Rose further claimed she is not seeking to avoid legal consequences and even welcomed a lawsuit.

“[Katy] is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people). Plus there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want me discussing. The psychological manipulation was strong with that one,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Perry appeared to respond indirectly on Instagram Stories by sharing a clip of her song “By the Grace of God” along with the message, “I love you.”

Lyrics from the 2013 album “Prism” track include: “It was not about me / Now I have to rise above / Let the universe call the bluff / Yeah the truth will set you free.”

As questions about Perry’s past behavior emerge, an old 2014 interview has resurfaced where Anna Kendrick is seen playfully describing a similar incident while appearing on Conan O’Brien’s late-night show.

Revitalize Your Stair-Climbing Strength with These 5 Walking Exercises for Those Over 55

0

Stair climbing often highlights fitness deficiencies more quickly than most activities, especially for those aged 55 and older. When individuals in this age group start avoiding stairs or holding onto the handrail for dear life, it typically signals multiple underlying issues. As a seasoned personal trainer and fitness educator at TRAINFITNESS, I’ve been assisting older adults with their fitness for nearly four decades. Fortunately, there are a few simple exercises you can incorporate into your daily walks to significantly enhance your stair-climbing abilities—no gym equipment required. Here are the top five exercises I suggest.

Climbing stairs requires a combination of strength, power, balance, and cardiovascular health. If any of these components begin to wane, the task becomes more challenging. When several of these decline simultaneously, conquering stairs can seem nearly impossible.

After the age of 50, our leg strength tends to decrease by about 1% per year if not actively countered. While this decline might appear minor at first glance, it can accumulate significantly over five to ten years. The quadriceps, in particular, are highly impacted. These muscles are responsible for lifting your body weight with each step, so when they weaken, climbing stairs demands even more effort.

Why Stairs Get Harder After 55

Stairs demand strength, power, balance, and cardiovascular fitness all at the same time. When any one of these systems starts to decline, the stairs become harder. When multiple systems decline together, stairs can feel impossible.

Our leg strength drops by around 1% per year after 50 if we’re not working against it. That might not sound like much, but over five or ten years, it adds up. The quadriceps are particularly affected. These muscles are what lift your body weight up each step, and when they weaken, every step requires more effort.

Power declines even faster than strength. Power is your ability to generate force quickly, and we lose it at roughly double the rate of strength. This is why getting up from a low chair becomes difficult and why pushing yourself up a step starts to feel like hard work.

Balance plays a bigger role than most people realize. Climbing stairs requires you to shift your entire body weight onto one leg while the other leg moves to the next step. If your balance is shaky, your brain compensates by slowing you down and making you grip the handrail. This creates a feedback loop; the less you challenge your balance, the worse it gets.

Cardiovascular fitness is the fourth piece. Even if your legs are strong enough, if your heart and lungs can’t deliver oxygen efficiently, you’ll be out of breath halfway up.

Most people don’t realize how much they’ve declined until the stairs force the issue. You start taking the lift more often, or you slow down and use the handrail without thinking about it. These small compensations mask the problem until one day you realize that stairs have become genuinely difficult.

Step-Ups on a Low Step

This is the single most effective movement for rebuilding the strength and power you need to climb stairs. It mimics the exact motion of stair climbing but in a controlled way that lets you focus on quality and gradually build up.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, calves

How to Do It:

  • Find a step that’s around 15-20cm high. A kerb works perfectly, or the bottom step of your stairs at home.
  • Stand facing the step with your feet hip-width apart.
  • Place your right foot fully on the step, making sure your entire foot is in contact with the surface.
  • Push through your right heel to lift your body up until your right leg is straight and your left foot is off the ground.
  • Step back down slowly and under control. That’s one rep.

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t push off with your back foot. All the work should come from your front leg.
  • Don’t lean forward too much. Keep your torso upright and drive through your heel.
  • Don’t rush the movement. Lower yourself back down slowly; the controlled descent builds as much strength as the push up.

Recommended Sets and Reps: 8-10 reps on each leg, twice a day. As you get stronger, increase to 12-15 reps or use a slightly higher step.

Form Tip: Make sure all the work comes from your front leg. If your back foot is helping push you up, you’re not getting the full benefit.

I worked with a client in her early 60s who had started avoiding the stairs in her house entirely. She was using step-ups on her bottom stair twice a day, 10 reps each leg. Within three weeks, she was climbing the full flight without stopping. Within six weeks, she wasn’t even thinking about it anymore.

Sit-to-Stand From a Dining Chair

This builds the power you need to push yourself up each stair step.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, core

How to Do It:

  • Sit in a standard dining chair with your feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart.
  • Cross your arms over your chest or hold them out in front of you.
  • Lean forward slightly from your hips, then push through your heels to stand up without using your hands.
  • Sit back down slowly and under control.

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t rock forward to generate momentum.
  • Don’t use your hands to push off the chair or your thighs.
  • Don’t sit down too quickly. Control the descent.

Recommended Sets and Reps: 10 reps, 2-3 times per day. As it gets easier, slow down the sit-back-down phase to 3-4 seconds.

Form Tip: Slowing down the lowering phase makes this significantly harder and builds more strength.

One of my clients, in his late 50s, couldn’t get out of a low sofa without using his hands. After four weeks of sit-to-stands twice a day, he was standing up from any chair without thinking about it.

Calf Raises

Your calves push you off each step, and when they’re weak, stair climbing becomes exhausting.

Muscles Trained: Gastrocnemius, soleus (calf muscles)

How to Do It:

  • Stand with your feet hip-width apart, holding onto a wall or sturdy surface for balance.
  • Rise up onto the balls of your feet as high as you can.
  • Hold for a second at the top, then lower back down slowly.

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t cut the range short. Rise as high as you can so your calf muscles are working hard.
  • Don’t bounce through the movement. Slow and controlled is what builds strength.

Recommended Sets and Reps: 12-15 reps, twice a day. Once this becomes easy, do them one leg at a time.

Form Tip: Get the full range of motion on every rep. If you’re not feeling your calves working hard, you’re probably not rising high enough.

Single-Leg Balance Holds

Balance is half the battle with stairs.

Muscles Trained: Ankle stabilizers, hip stabilizers, core

How to Do It:

  • Stand next to a wall or sturdy surface for safety.
  • Lift one foot slightly off the ground and hold the position for 20-30 seconds.
  • Switch legs.

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t shift your weight around constantly. Find a stable position and hold it.
  • Don’t hold your breath. Keep breathing normally throughout.

Recommended Sets and Reps: 20-30 seconds per leg, twice a day on each leg. As you improve, try it with your eyes closed or without holding onto anything.

Form Tip: Closing your eyes is a simple way to make this dramatically harder once the basic version feels easy.

I had a client in her mid-60s who was terrified of stairs because she felt unsteady. After two weeks of daily balance holds, her confidence improved noticeably, and she stopped gripping the handrail on every step.

Walking With an Exaggerated Knee Lift

This trains your hip flexors and quads to lift your leg higher, which is exactly what stair climbing demands.

Muscles Trained: Hip flexors, quadriceps

How to Do It:

  • During your normal daily walk, spend 2-3 minutes lifting your knees higher than usual with each step.
  • Aim to bring your knee up to hip height if possible.
  • You can break it into shorter bursts if needed.

Avoid These Mistakes:

  • Don’t lean back when you lift your knees. Keep your torso upright so the work stays in your hip flexors.
  • Don’t rush. Lift your knees deliberately and under control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: 2-3 minutes during your regular walk. Break into shorter bursts if needed.

Form Tip: Keep your torso upright throughout. Leaning back takes the work away from exactly the muscles you’re trying to train.

How Quickly You’ll Notice a Difference

If you’re doing these movements daily, you’ll notice changes faster than you probably expect.

Within the first week, you’ll feel less fatigued during the day. Your legs won’t feel as heavy or tired. This is your nervous system getting better at activating your muscles; early strength gains happen in the brain, not the muscles.

By week two or three, you’ll notice that climbing a single flight of stairs doesn’t leave you as out of breath. You might still need the handrail, but you won’t be gripping it as tightly. Everyday movements like getting out of your car or standing up from a chair will feel easier.

By week four to six, most people can climb a full flight of stairs without stopping or needing the handrail for balance. You’ll still be aware that you’re working, but it won’t feel like a struggle.

By eight weeks, stairs should feel routine again. You won’t be thinking about them before you climb them, and you won’t be avoiding them when you have the option of a lift.

The timeline depends on how weak you’ve become and how consistently you practice. Daily practice is non-negotiable; doing these movements three times a week won’t get you there.

Nutrition, Sleep, and Habits That Speed Up Recovery

The most important piece of the puzzle is getting enough protein. After the age of 50, the body gets worse at both digesting protein and turning it into muscle, so try to aim for an intake of 1.2-1.6 grams per kilo of bodyweight every day, broken up throughout the day with each meal. You don’t need protein shakes. You simply need enough from the meat, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, and pulses in your daily meals.

Sleep is where your muscles actually recover and build themselves. If you’re not sleeping well, you’re not going to see the results you should be from your workouts. Aim for seven to eight hours, and just like with workouts, quality is just as important as quantity.

Walking more is also helpful. The targeted exercises above should sit on top of a good level of general activity. If you’re able to do so, aim for 6,000-8,000 steps daily. This keeps your cardiovascular system working for you and supports recovery.

Something I’ve noticed people rarely think about is hydration. Not enough water is going to negatively impact both muscle function and recovery. You should be drinking enough so that your urine is a pale yellow color. If you’re not drinking water until you’re feeling thirsty, you’ve already missed the boat.

Finally, consistency will beat intensity every time. Doing these exercises correctly, day in, day out, will give you a better result than sporadic days of greater effort. The body adapts to regular and repeated stresses, so give it that stress on a regular basis and it will change in response.

Chicago Parents Unite: Innovative Gathering Counters Hyde Park Teen Trend

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — Residents and business owners in Hyde Park were on alert Tuesday evening, anticipating a rumored “teen takeover” that ultimately did not materialize.

The event was expected to kick off around 5:30 p.m., with law enforcement officers deployed across the area to keep an eye on various parts of the community. By 10 p.m., no incidents had been reported.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

“Having more people out can help de-escalate situations and potentially prevent some of the activities we’ve seen in the past,” said Hyde Park local Bennie Currie. “This is just the beginning of our efforts. With summer approaching, we aim to maintain this strategy.”

To counter the planned gathering, some business owners initiated their own community event, engaging with young people to dissuade them from participating in disruptive activities.

“Enjoy yourselves, come out and have fun, but don’t cause destruction,” advised Marquinn McDonald, a member of the 2nd District Community Council. “You can have a good time without damaging property. It’s often just a small group causing issues, so spread the message that such behavior isn’t welcome here.”

People started seeing social media posts last week that advertised a Hyde Park takeover planned for Tuesday. The flyer encouraged participants to bring their own beer and weed. But on Tuesday night, some concerned business owners encouraged adults to bring their own selves as a deterrent.

Trez Pugh has operated his Sip and Savor coffee shop in Hyde Park for the last 14 years. He cares about this community, and what he saw during last month’s teen takeover left him feeling more than frustrated.

“It was heartbreaking, to be honest, man. I mean, it was total chaos. It was no control, no law and order, and I just felt as though something needed to be done,” Pugh said.

At his shop, Pugh hosted a parent takeover in response.

“What we plan on doing is bringing awareness to the community. People need to know where their kids are, where their nephews or their cousins, when they out here, you know, wreaking havoc throughout the community and all that. It’s fun for them until it’s not,” Pugh said.

The parent takeover was an idea from businessman and philanthropist Early Walker, who is calling this an amber alert, if you will, for parents, with the mindset it takes a village to respond to problems like this.

“So, I’m calling for the village to come out and try to combat, you know, this whole teen trend era that we have going on. There’s no way in the world we should have a situation where kids are taking over our communities. They’re taking over our businesses. They’re damaging our property,. They’re damaging our communities,” Walker said.

Jason Hale fully supports the parent response. During the March 30 teen trend, kids ran across the top of cars, including his, causing $3,000 in damage, and his car is still in the shop. He hopes kids get the message that this kind of behavior has to stop.

“You really can’t tell them anything. You could tell them, ‘Do this, do that.’ It all comes up to their upbringing and how they were parented. If they never had accountability, and they weren’t raised right, and they weren’t raised with structure, then you telling them isn’t going to do anything,” Hale said. “I just think it’s completely out of control. It’s one thing to come and hang out, right? But it’s another thing to destroy people’s property, jump people, shooting people, all these different things. This is this is a problem. This is a crisis. And it bothers me that this is happening again, because now I’m worried about my wife’s car.”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson posted a plea to parents on X, saying, “Parents, be aware of where your children are going this evening. DO NOT allow your children to attend one of these gatherings; they are dangerous and can often turn violent.”

A number of adults from Kenwood Academy were part of the adult group on Tuesday night.

“Hyde Park is an amazing area, and it’s not odd that people want to come and walk,” said Kenwood Academy High School Principal Karen Calloway. “There’s nothing wrong with that. We just want to make sure that everybody is safe.”

Some of them walked south from their initial location to meet with some of the teens who were in the neighborhood for the takeover.

“Let’s stand together. You know, if they’ve got 100 kids out here, we need to have 100 parents. If there’s 500 kids out here, we need to have 500 parents, right? Whatever it takes to combat this, and we don’t need it to be where it’s a police issue, because that’s when things go left, right?” Walker said.

Historic Israel-Lebanon Peace Talks Conclude in D.C.: United Front Against Hezbollah

0

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio referred to it as a “historic opportunity” as Israel and Lebanon initiated their first direct talks in over 40 years on Tuesday. The discussions, aimed at countering the influence of Iran-backed Hezbollah, have been met with cautious optimism as they could potentially pave the path to a lasting peace.

The meeting, which lasted around two hours, brought together Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter and Lebanese Ambassador Nada Hamadeh Moawad. This high-level engagement, facilitated by U.S. officials, marked the first direct dialogue since 1993, aiming to establish a formal negotiation pathway between the two nations.

Since Israel’s establishment in 1948, the two countries have technically been at war, making this meeting a major diplomatic milestone after decades without direct talks.

Following the discussions, Israel, Lebanon, and the United States released a joint statement highlighting “productive discussions” and agreeing to initiate direct negotiations “at a mutually agreed time and venue.” This sets the stage for a broader diplomatic endeavor that could potentially lead to a peace agreement.

Rubio emphasized that this initiative will be a gradual process, not a single event, expressing hope that the dialogues will create a foundation for a “permanent and lasting peace.”

Rubio cautioned the effort would unfold gradually, describing it as “a process, not an event,” while expressing hope the talks could establish a framework for a “permanent and lasting peace.”

The talks unfolded against an active conflict backdrop, with Hezbollah — an Iran-backed terrorist organization designated by the United States and others — launching attacks on Israel as the meeting began and triggering warning sirens in the north.

Israeli officials have made clear the talks will proceed alongside continued military operations against Hezbollah, maintaining pressure on the group while testing a diplomatic path forward.

Washington emphasized that any agreement to cease hostilities must be negotiated directly between Jerusalem and Beirut, rejecting efforts to link the track to separate U.S.-Iran negotiations and reiterating support for Israel’s right to defend itself against Hezbollah’s continued attacks.

Israeli officials used the meeting to press for the disarmament of Hezbollah and the dismantling of its infrastructure, with the joint statement noting Israel’s commitment to eliminating “all non-state terror groups” in Lebanon while pursuing a “durable peace” through direct negotiations.

Lebanon, for its part, reiterated what officials described as an “urgent need” to fully implement the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, calling for a cessation of hostilities alongside measures to address the country’s worsening humanitarian crisis.

Lebanese officials have emphasized the crisis facing civilians, while U.S. and Israeli officials have pointed to Hezbollah’s continued entrenchment and attacks as a central driver of the instability.

Despite the differences in emphasis, Leiter struck an optimistic tone following the talks, telling reporters, “We discovered today that we are both on the same side of the equation,” adding that both countries are “united to liberate Lebanon from the occupying power dominated by Iran called Hezbollah.”

He described the meeting as laying out a “long-term vision” for clearly defined borders and eventual normalization, arguing that Hezbollah’s weakening — alongside broader pressure on Iran — has created a rare opening for diplomacy.

“This is not a pipe dream, it’s a reality,” Leiter said in separate remarks, adding that recent developments have created an opportunity to degrade Iran’s regional proxies and advance peace.

Officials indicated the talks could ultimately pave the way for normalization and potential expansion of the Abraham Accords framework, though they cautioned the process remains in its early stages.

The terror group has rejected the negotiations outright, with Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem opposing talks with Israel and warning of further escalation, underscoring the challenges facing the diplomatic track.

Rubio acknowledged the complexity, noting that decades of conflict and Hezbollah’s entrenched presence would not be resolved quickly, but insisted the current moment presents a rare opportunity to reset the trajectory.

“This is a historic gathering that we hope to build on,” Rubio said, adding that the goal is to ensure Israelis can live free from rocket attacks, while Lebanese citizens can achieve “peace, prosperity, and security.”

No date for a follow-up round has been announced, though officials indicated talks are expected to resume in the coming weeks as both sides consult their respective governments.

Ex-UCLA Gynecologist Receives Prison Sentence for Sexual Assaults on Patients

0

A former University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) physician has been sentenced to 11 years in prison on charges of sexually assaulting his patients while serving as an obstetrician-gynecologist at the institution.

James Heaps, aged 69, admitted guilt to 13 charges, as reported by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. These charges include six felony counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious person, five felony counts of sexual battery by fraud, and two felony counts of sexual exploitation of a patient.

During his 35-year tenure at UCLA, the university faced significant legal repercussions, paying nearly $700 million to resolve civil claims filed against him.

In addition to his prison sentence, Heaps will be mandated to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Heaps’ sentencing marks the conclusion of a lengthy legal battle that has profoundly impacted many of his former patients and the university community.

Heaps’s plea comes after an appeals court in California determined he was denied a fair trial in 2023 due to concerns that one juror did not speak enough English to adequately carry out their responsibilities.

At the time, his attorney, Leonard Levine, told The Associated Press that, “justice is slow, but it’s finally been done.”

“I believe it’s just a matter of time before he is totally exonerated,” he added.

Levine did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Prosecutors, however, framed the outcome differently.

“Today marks the second time that we’re holding James Heaps responsible for the unconscionable crimes he committed while being entrusted with the safety of his patients,” Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said, according to the release.

“For years, Heaps exploited the sacred trust between a doctor and patient to prey on vulnerable victims during medical procedures. This sentence ensures that Heaps will finally be held accountable for the harm he inflicted under the guise of care. To the survivors: I hope today brings you closure knowing that the individual who violated your trust has been definitively brought to justice. To all survivors, please know that we believe you and we will fight for you.”

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

In 2023, the doctor’s former patients claimed he groped them, made suggestive comments, or conducted unnecessarily invasive exams at the college’s student health center, the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, or in his campus office.

The women who filed lawsuits against Heaps claimed the school ignored their comments and allowed the abuse to continue.

Tragic Crash: Girl’s Life Claimed After Being Forced to Share Seatbelt – Legal Action Ensues

An Arizona woman is accused of causing her 9-year-old daughter’s death in a rollover accident by making her share a seat belt with a sibling. The crash involved her 1-year-old daughter and two sons, aged 3 and 11. Authorities report that the mother drove erratically, and there was a noticeable scent of marijuana in the vehicle.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety informed Law&Crime that 30-year-old Brenda Liliana Rivera Estrada faces charges including manslaughter and child abuse after the Sunday morning incident, which also resulted in her hospitalization due to injuries.

Following her discharge from the hospital, Estrada was taken into custody at the Maricopa County Jail, officials stated. Her daughter, Alexa Cortez Rivera, was mourned on Facebook by family members and through a GoFundMe campaign started by her grandmother.

The GoFundMe page describes Alexa as “a deeply affectionate young girl with a promising future,” tragically cut short in the accident.

According to DPS, the crash occurred as Estrada traveled north on Interstate 17 in Phoenix, near Peoria Avenue. The SUV overturned, leading to severe injuries for all occupants. Officials noted Alexa was forced to share a seat belt with a sibling while Estrada drove recklessly.

“Multiple witnesses stated that she was driving above the posted speed limit, which was 65,” a prosecutor told a Maricopa County judge on Monday during Estrada’s first court appearance, according to local NBC affiliate KPNX.

“They said that she was passing vehicles,” the prosecutor alleged. “She was driving recklessly.”

Authorities who arrived at the crash scene after the SUV flipped over reported smelling marijuana in Estrada’s car. “The suspect chose to get in a vehicle where she was allegedly under the influence of marijuana,” the prosecutor said in court.

“I was not high,” Estrada insisted while speaking to the judge overseeing her case. She allegedly told police she had smoked the morning before but not on the day of the crash.

“I think that it’s just a tragedy,” the judge said.

Estrada is being held on a $100,000 bond.

“Alexa, no words can describe the pain you’ve left us,” a loved one wrote on Facebook, noting how the girl’s father had died several years ago.

“I can’t believe you’re gone,” the person said. “You’ll be deeply missed and always in our hearts. Keep being the sweet, lovely and funny girl you were always. All I can think of right now is you’re with your dad hugging each other in heaven.”

Expert Panel to Evaluate Trump’s Fitness for Office: A Groundbreaking Proposal

0
A top member of Congress has proposed a team of experts that would determine whether Donald Trump is fit to remain as president.
The commission would be tasked with deciding whether to activate the 25th Amendment, a law that allows for a president to be removed from office if they are no longer up to the job.

The proposed commission, intended to apply to all future presidents, was particularly inspired by concerns over Donald Trump’s conduct, according to Raskin.

“Public confidence in Donald Trump’s capacity to fulfill his presidential duties has plummeted to unprecedented levels,” Raskin stated. “This comes as he makes reckless threats to annihilate entire civilizations, stirs turmoil in the Middle East while disregarding Congressional authority on war powers, openly criticizes the Pope, and posts images online suggesting a likeness to Jesus Christ.”

“We stand at a perilous threshold,” Raskin continued. “It is now a critical national security issue for Congress to uphold its obligations under the 25th Amendment, safeguarding the American public from an increasingly erratic and unstable scenario.”

The commission would be a bipartisan effort, comprising eight retired statespersons, including former presidents, vice presidents, and cabinet officials, appointed by both political parties.

The bipartisan commission would consist of eight retired statespersons including former presidents, vice presidents and cabinet members, selected by both parties.

And party leaders would also select four doctors and four psychiatrists to serve on the body.

The commission would then select a 17th member themselves.

With the consent of the vice president, the commission could decide whether to activate the 25th amendment.

Raskin’s legislation is likely not to pass into law because Democrats are in the minority in both chambers.

But fifty Democrats are cosponsoring the legislation nevertheless.

In recent weeks many prominent conservatives have begun publicly expressing concern about Trump’s mental state.”He’s clearly not well,” his former press secretary Stephanie Grisham said last week.

“This isn’t ‘just Trump being Trump’.”

And Trump’s former lawyer Ty Cobb said the president was “clearly insane”.

“It highlights the level of his insanity and his depravity,” Cobb said.

Last week Raskin wrote to the White House doctor demanding Trump take a dementia test.

Raskin requested a comprehensive cognitive test, with the results to be shared with Congress.

But the president’s behaviour has become a talking point in American media in his second term.

In a cabinet meeting he spoke for several minutes about a conversation he had with the CEO of the company that makes Sharpies, which the company said never took place.

He spoke for eight minutes about poisonous snakes in Peru during a Christmas event.

He claimed to have ended a non-existent war between Cambodia and Armenia.

He also apparently concocted a long anecdote about his uncle’s interactions at college with the Unabomber, even though his uncle died before the terrorist was identified.

And after posting an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ this week, he later claimed he thought it showed him as a doctor.

The 25th Amendment has never been invoked to permanently remove a president from power.

Clavicular Admitted to Hospital Following Suspected Overdose Incident

Social media influencer Clavicular has been admitted to the hospital following a suspected overdose incident that abruptly halted his livestream.

Known within the ‘looksmaxxing’ community, Clavicular was visibly struggling during the livestream, displaying slurred speech and clutching his head as those around him tried to assist.

Emergency services were alerted at approximately 8:45 PM ET on Tuesday, reporting a 20-year-old male experiencing an overdose on South Miami Avenue, Miami. Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, matches this description.

TMZ broke the news that Peters may have overdosed and is currently under medical care in a hospital.

The incident unfolded during a livestream on the platform Kick, where Clavicular and two companions were seated in a bar booth. At one point, a friend inquired, “How messed up are you?”

Clavicular responded by laughing and saying a few unintelligible phrases. A glass of water was placed in front of him before he appeared to slump over.

His friend asked him if he wanted an Addy, short for Adderall, three times before Clavicular appeared to slump over on the table in front of him. Shortly after that, the livestream cut out.

Videos circulated on social media appear to show a limp Clavicular being carried out to an ambulance by two men.

There have been rumors that Clavicular uses methamphetamine to suppress his appetite and achieve his desired body proportions.

Clavicular is known online for his ‘looksmaxxing’ content, urging young men to upgrade their looks through extreme and controversial methods such as facial ‘bone smashing’, which he claims makes the bones heal stronger after they’re broken.

He also advocates for steroid use, admitting that he has taken testoterone since he was 14.

He believes being attractive is crucial to a man’s success, especially in getting attention from women.

This philosophy from the looksmaxxing community overlaps with beliefs espoused by incels, or involuntary celibates. These are men who have strong animosity toward women because they can’t find someone who wants to have sex with them.

In a recent interview on 60 Minutes Australia, Clavicular was asked about what incels had in common with his looksmaxxers and got defensive.

‘I’m not linked to that group in any way,’ Peters said of incels. ‘Looksmaxxing is self-improvement, right? So it’s about potentially ascending out of that category and so that would be one of the goals is to disassociate from being an incel and overcome that.’

The interviewer then asked him about his relationship with Andrew Tate, a social media personality who is under criminal investigation in the United Kingdom and Romania for allegedly running human trafficking operation.

Clavicular was spotted at a nightclub in Miami with Tate and white nationalist commentator Nick Fuentes in January.

‘You’ve obviously shared company with Andrew Tate and other, dare I say, rather controversial figures,’ the interviewer said. ‘Why do you spend time with people like that?’

Clavicular immediately disengaged, saying ‘all right, have a nice day’ before standing up and walking off.

On March 26, Clavicular was arrested in connection to a misdemeanor assault. Reporter Taylor Lorenz was the first to confirm this, saying that the arrest near Fort Lauderdale stemmed from an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office warrant from March 9.

Lorenz speculated the charge may be connected to a physical altercation involving his girlfriend, known as Violet, and influencer Jenny Popach.

The altercation between Violet and Popach unfolded during a Kick livestream earlier this year that racked up hundreds of thousands of views online, with the pair seen hitting and pulling each other’s hair inside a house before being separated.

Clavicular was taken into custody after he was filmed unloading a gun on a dead alligator in a Florida Everglades swamp. His arrest had nothing to do with this video.
