Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson Flaunted Romance Amid Split Rumors

0

Questions continue to surround Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson’s reported private split after the high-profile pair appeared to keep presenting themselves as a couple months after allegedly ending their romance.

A bombshell TMZ report published Friday night claimed that the age-gap relationship ended ‘late last year,’ yet Belichick and Hudson apparently managed to keep the breakup hidden for nearly 12 months.

Later that night, a separate report from USA Today said staff members at UNC had been ‘caught off-guard’ by news of the split. Two anonymous employees reportedly said they were ‘not aware’ that the relationship had ended.

Hudson has remained a familiar presence at North Carolina football games this season, standing alongside Belichick both at Chapel Hill and during away fixtures – including appearances as recently as this month.

Reports have described the pair as still being ‘close friends’ who ‘remain committed to their business partnerships,’ with Hudson listed as a director of several companies. That is despite claims that she has since moved on romantically and dated multiple men this year.

That raises an obvious question: why are there so many affectionate photos of the pair from 2026 if their romantic relationship supposedly ended during the final months of 2025?

At major sporting events and in more private settings, a series of photos obtained by the Daily Mail suggests that the situation between the legendary coach, 74, and his former girlfriend, who is 49 years younger, may be more complicated than it first appeared.

One of the most puzzling public displays of affection took place in May at the Kentucky Derby, reportedly as many as six months after the couple had ended their romance.

Belichick flew Hudson to the historic race at Churchill Downs on a private jet. Once there, the sharply dressed coach was photographed holding her hand as they walked around the course.

Hudson later shared two images from the event on social media, writing: ‘Not the first time we’ve trudged through the mud together,’ alongside a pink heart.

The photos showed the pair smiling broadly, with Belichick’s shirt and tie appearing to coordinate closely with Hudson’s dress.

A social media post from the previous month added to the speculation after Belichick stepped away from his demanding football schedule to support Hudson at her own sporting event.

Appearing every bit the supportive boyfriend, Belichick watched Hudson compete at the US Worlds Trials, where she and her ‘Cheer Extreme Code Black’ team were crowned champions.

Afterward, Hudson posted a selfie with Belichick and called him ‘Bill the WAG’ while he wore a T-shirt featuring the name of her cheer squad. The phrase WAG – short for ‘wife and girlfriend’ – appeared to suggest that their relationship was still going strong.

Shortly before that April adventure, Belichick and Hudson had spent time in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, attending a basketball game one night on campus.

While nothing was posted on social media by either of them, photographers captured the pair with their arms intertwined as they sat in the bleachers to watch the action.

This, it should be noted, occurred two months into 2026 and long after they had apparently ended their high-profile relationship.

In recent months, Hudson’s Instagram account has been dormant, with no new posts in 25 weeks and the most recent photo dump being the loved-up Kentucky Derby appearance.

Despite no images from the source, Hudson has still been closely involved in Belichick’s life, appearing in photos taken at at least three of UNC’s games just this month.

Last time out, the Tar Heels lost in overtime to Syracuse, and Hudson was seen in multiple fan photos taking selfies on the sideline in a stylish pink suit.

In one post, she was labeled the ‘First Lady of UNC Football’ as she grinned for snaps with young supporters.

Seven days earlier, she traveled to Durham, North Carolina with the team for the rivalry game against Duke, which ended with a huge win for Belichick and his players.

At the end of the game, Hudson appeared to cozy up to Belichick as they laughed and walked down the tunnel together.

On October 3, meanwhile, she was again on the sideline again as UNC suffered a loss to No 5 ranked Notre Dame, also at Chapel Hill.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the pair for comment.

Kim Kardashian’s $3,300 Beauty Treatment Has a Surprising Celebrity Connection

Kim Kardashian has offered followers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the skin-tightening treatments she relies on for her beauty routine. The reality star and entrepreneur regularly discusses the procedures she uses, and this time she highlighted a non-surgical treatment also recently tried by actor Barry Keoghan.

In a social media video, Kardashian documented herself receiving the treatment while preparing for the press tour for All’s Fair 2. “I leave tonight for Rome, and I wanna feel snatched,” she said before introducing fans to XERF. The 46-year-old described the procedure as part of her pre-event beauty preparation.

According to Tyla, XERF is a non-invasive skin-tightening treatment designed to lift and firm the face without surgery. Kardashian called it her “favorite skin tightening” treatment, then talked viewers through the process as a technician began working on her skin.

Kardashian said one of the biggest benefits is that the procedure requires no needles, making it “completely tolerable.” She explained that she first learned about XERF from a TikTok creator who discusses the cosmetic procedures celebrities have undergone, though she was unsure whether he was a plastic surgeon or simply a commentator.

Addressing speculation about plastic surgery, Kardashian suggested that the noticeable changes in her face are connected to the XERF treatment. She also pointed to a familiar hairstyling technique—her hair being pulled tightly back—as another reason her features may appear more lifted.

Dr. Medi Spa describes XERF as a treatment that uses advanced radiofrequency technology to enhance firmness, facial definition, and overall skin quality. The procedure originated in South Korea and has since attracted a growing celebrity following. Kardashian’s session came only days after Keoghan received a similar treatment from Nilam Holmes.

The Saltburn actor said he had heard plenty about the treatment before deciding to try it. He described the appointment as “relaxing and therapeutic” and said he noticed a difference in his skin immediately afterward. “I feel better about myself; I look better. I think it’s important to look after yourself inside and outside,” the Irish star shared.

XERF’s popularity among celebrities may also be tied to its steep price. Reports indicate that one full-face session can cost more than $3,300, while two treatments may run slightly above $6,000. Because multiple appointments can be necessary, the procedure remains out of reach for many people.

It has not been disclosed whether Kardashian or Keoghan paid for their respective treatments. Still, fans appeared impressed by Kardashian’s results. Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton praised the procedure in the comments, writing, “Love a XERF! Your the best sharing your secrets to get snatched.”

Kardashian and her sisters have consistently been candid about cosmetic procedures and beauty enhancements. In a recent discussion, Khloe Kardashian also revealed that openness to plastic surgery would be important in a potential partner.

According to TMZ, Khloe spoke with her sister about her dating history and the qualities she expects from her next boyfriend. “I’m no sugar mama,” the 42-year-old said before outlining one of her requirements. Kardashian then summarized it on her checklist: “Must be okay with plastic surgery.”

Trucker, 51, Gets 22 Years as Family Killing Fuels Attack Ad

0

An Ohio truck driver has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for a devastating highway crash that killed a married couple and their one-year-old son. The family’s deaths were later featured in a controversial political attack ad.

Modou Ngom, 51, received the maximum sentence after his Freightliner caused a fiery nine-vehicle pileup that claimed the lives of Luke Soposki, 37, his 36-year-old wife, Lynnea, and their baby son, Logan.

Ngom became a U.S. citizen in 2015. Ohio investigators, however, allege that he secured citizenship through a fraudulent identity after arriving in the United States during the 1990s.

Thursday’s sentencing prompted an emotional courtroom confrontation. Relatives of the victims accused Ngom of failing to show remorse, while the judge condemned him for destroying an entire family.

‘You wiped out an entire family,’ Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge Marianne Hemmeter told Ngom. ‘And this court can’t make it better.’

The crash occurred on April 11, when Ngom was driving his Freightliner semitruck north along Interstate 71, just outside Columbus. Traffic had slowed in a construction zone, but investigators said he failed to reduce his speed.

The truck slammed into the vehicles ahead, setting off a chain-reaction collision involving nine cars and trucks.

Disturbing surveillance video captured the white semitruck plowing into the backed-up traffic. At least one vehicle erupted in flames upon impact.

Ngom’s truck then crossed the median, forcing two additional vehicles from its path.

Lynnea Soposki, 36, her husband Luke, 37, and their one-year-old son Logan were killed when Ngom’s semitruck plowed into traffic on Interstate 71 north of Columbus on April 11

The Soposkis were traveling together in their pickup truck when they were killed. Five other people sustained serious injuries in the pileup.

Lynnea worked as a veterinarian at Muirfield Animal Hospital in Dublin, Ohio. Luke was an analytical chemist.

Their deaths left relatives grieving the loss of three members of a young family in a single afternoon.

During the sentencing hearing, Lynnea’s brother, Jesse Mallen, confronted Ngom and accused him of being distracted by a tablet before the crash.

‘You were playing with a damn tablet while aiming a 40-ton weapon straight at the family’, he told the court.

Mallen also challenged what he described as the truck driver’s apparent lack of remorse.

‘Your poor family is pouring their hearts out, awash with remorse and I haven’t seen an ounce from you – have you no shame for what you did?’ he demanded.

Ohio State Highway Patrol investigators had previously stated that Ngom was not using a phone or tablet when the crash occurred.

Ngom was convicted in September following a four-day trial on three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and five counts of vehicular assault.

The consequences of the crash have extended far beyond the three deaths.

One surviving woman has filed a civil lawsuit claiming she suffered permanent injuries so severe that she can no longer independently care for herself or carry out basic daily activities.

The Soposki family estate has also brought a wrongful-death lawsuit against Ngom.

But the family’s suffering took another turn when photographs of Luke, Lynnea and Logan appeared in a Republican campaign advertisement attacking former Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown.

The commercial, titled ‘Dangerous for Ohio,’ was paid for by the National Republican Senatorial Committee and authorized by Republican Senator Jon Husted’s campaign ahead of their closely fought Senate race.

‘Sherrod Brown opened our borders to dangerous illegals – the consequences were deadly,’ the narrator declared.

The advertisement then displayed photographs of Ngom and the Soposki family alongside disturbing footage of the fatal crash.

Mallen said he was horrified to discover that his sister, brother-in-law and nephew had become part of a political campaign without the family’s permission.

‘Our grief is not raw material for a campaign,’ he wrote after the advertisement began appearing across Ohio.

Mallen said he contacted Husted’s campaign by email and certified mail, asking for the family’s photograph to be removed.

‘What we all want is to be able to grieve in peace and privacy,’ he said. ‘For our family to be used in such a classless way by a politician, especially without being consulted.’

The advertisement aired for at least 16 days, with an estimated $1 million spent on the campaign, before being pulled.

Footage of it remained online attracting more than five million views.

For the Soposki family, the political arguments only added to their distress.

‘Just unbelievable what these politicians will do,’ Luke’s father, Joseph Soposki, wrote after learning about the commercial. ‘Absolutely no compassion for the family.’

The political row centered on Ngom’s immigration history.

Ohio officials said he entered the United States in the 1990s and later used different names and birth dates to obtain identification and driving licenses.

The Department of Homeland Security subsequently confirmed that Ngom became a naturalized American citizen in 2015.

He had not been charged with any immigration-related offense, and independent fact-checkers found no evidence directly linking Brown’s voting record to the deadly crash.

NYC Mogul Linked to Designer Martha Nolan’s Yacht Death Served Papers

0

Insurance mogul and yacht owner Christopher Durnan was reportedly stunned when legal papers were finally served on him after he allegedly spent two months evading attorneys seeking to notify him of a lawsuit over the death of NYC fashion entrepreneur Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra.

Durnan allegedly sent lawyers on a frantic search across the East Coast before they located him in October — roughly one year after Nolan-O’Slatarra was found dead aboard his yacht at the upscale Montauk Yacht Club.

“Was surprised it took you so long,” Durnan reportedly told the process server after being handed the papers on Oct. 1, according to court documents filed Oct. 15 and reviewed by The Post.

Attorneys said Durnan was spotted leaving a residence in Lantana, Florida, then followed to a home in Jupiter. He was served outside that property at 12:07 p.m.

Durnan, believed to be the last person to see Nolan-O’Slatarra alive, is the target of a $50 million wrongful-death lawsuit filed by her estate.

The 33-year-old fashion designer, who was based in New York City, was found unresponsive, cold and bloodied by EMTs aboard Durnan’s vessel, which was docked at the Montauk Yacht Club on Aug. 5, 2025.

Her death was initially thought to have resulted from an accidental drug overdose. However, an independent autopsy detected only trace amounts of cocaine in her system.

A lawsuit first reported by The Post and filed in New York County Court on Aug. 4 — the anniversary of Nolan-O’Slatarra’s death — accuses Durnan of assault, negligence and gross negligence that allegedly contributed to her death.

The estate’s attorneys made repeated efforts to contact Durnan and serve him with a Summons of Notice, beginning Aug. 5, before finally locating him in South Florida three months later.

Lawyers attempted to reach Durnan at three addresses linked to him: two on Long Island and another in the Catskills.

Beginning Aug. 26, attorneys and hired process servers made multiple visits but were unable to find and serve Durnan.

At a Garden City, Long Island, property whose deed has been held by Durnan since 2023, a process server encountered a star Ivy League lacrosse player. The individual refused to accept the summons and said it would only be lost if it were left on the stoop.

Investigators eventually traced Durnan to the Lantana residence, where two vehicles registered in his name were seen outside.

Two process servers and a private investigator tried at least 10 times to reach Durnan at the Florida property between Sept. 2 and Sept. 30. Each attempt ended without the insurance mogul being served.

According to the affidavit, Durnan mocked the length of the search when the summons was finally handed to him. The statement was first reported by the Irish Independent.

Nolan-O’Slatarra’s family has also created a tip line as part of a private investigation into her death, which remains an open case.

“The family of Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra and their legal team are seeking information that may help their investigation into her death in Montauk,” says MarthaTipline.com, a website established by attorney Michael Bowe of Brithem LLP.

“Brithem’s legal team continues to investigate and is asking anyone with information to come forward,” the site states.

Criminal Minds Ends After 20 Seasons as Cast Reacts to Cancellation

“Criminal Minds: Evolution” is set to end after a 20-season run, and the news appears to have caught several cast members off guard.

The long-running crime drama premiered on CBS in 2005 before moving to Paramount+ in 2022. The streaming service announced Friday that its final episodes will be released in 2027.

Joe Mantegna, AJ Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, RJ Hatanaka, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster are all expected to return for the concluding season.

Vangsness, who has portrayed beloved technical analyst Penelope Garcia throughout the series’ 20-season history, addressed the announcement online just hours after it became public.

“Social media is sort of like getting to do your own press conference, I guess. This has happened. It’s being cancelled, but then it says right there it’s ending ‘for now,’” she said in an Instagram video, with the cancellation report displayed behind her.

Vangsness compared her reaction to the moment in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” when Charlie receives the chocolate but realizes the experience is bittersweet. “Thank you so much for the chocolate. Look at how long [20 seasons], that doesn’t happen ever,” she said.

In replies to fans on Instagram, Vangsness said she found out about the decision only 90 minutes before it was announced publicly.

Her video also made clear that she is not yet prepared to say goodbye to the series.

“But I love my job, and my boss Erica Messer says there’s so many more stories to tell. So if we get to keep telling them somewhere, that would be amazing. I know all of us feel the same way.”

“Everything’s OK. Aren’t we all in a death and rebirth cycle? Yes, so maybe this goes somewhere else? What an adventure,” she added.

Hatanaka, who plays FBI agent Tyler Green, posted a group photo of the cast on Instagram with the caption, “Just the finest group of people,” followed by a heart emoji.

Tyler, who portrays Dr. Tara Lewis, reshared Hatanaka’s photo and wrote, “Family for life.” She later posted an article listing the most-streamed titles of 2026, placing “Criminal Minds” at No. 11 with 13.15 billion minutes viewed.

Cook, who has played Jennifer “JJ” Jareau since the show’s first season, also shared Hatanaka’s post. “These people own my heart forever and always,” she wrote, adding heart and broken-heart emojis.

“Criminal Minds” premiered on CBS in September 2005. The series follows FBI profilers in the Behavioral Analysis Unit as they investigate criminals by studying their psychology.

The original series concluded in early 2020, but the franchise returned to Paramount+ in November 2022 under the title “Criminal Minds: Evolution.”

The franchise also produced two short-lived spinoffs: “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior,” which starred Forest Whitaker in 2011, and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” led by Gary Sinise from 2016 to 2017.

The announcement follows Brewster’s clash earlier this year with ScreenRant critic Shealynn Scott over a negative review of the series. Brewster accused the review of potentially threatening 350 people’s jobs and told Scott to “do something better than what you do now.”

Michigan Democrats Face Internal Feud Days Before Midterm Elections

0

Abdul El-Sayed and his former Democratic primary rival, Haley Stevens, have revived their intra-party dispute just four days before a pivotal Senate election in the swing state of Michigan.

El-Sayed, a progressive candidate who previously campaigned alongside controversial streamer Hasan Piker, narrowly defeated the more moderate Stevens in August, surprising many observers.

Now running against Republican Mike Rogers, El-Sayed is once again locked in a dispute with Stevens as Democrats prepare for a high-stakes contest in a purple state that Donald Trump won two years ago.

The tensions returned to the spotlight Wednesday when Stevens’ fiancé, Jason Turkish, told The Detroit News that he planned to vote for Rogers.

Later that day, Stevens appeared on CNN and confirmed that she would support El-Sayed, while urging his campaign to “shut out the hate and call it out.”

She said El-Sayed must also reach out to voters who supported her during the primary and “make them feel comfortable about coming to the polls.”

The two Democrats appeared to patch things up Thursday, scheduling a Sunday campaign event in Detroit alongside South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn, an influential Democrat widely credited with helping Joe Biden secure victory in the 2020 primary.

However, Stevens issued a lengthy social media statement Friday criticizing her former opponent. She called on El-Sayed to denounce an advertisement tying US support for Israel to rising grocery costs and to address concerns about his previous rhetoric.

The advertisement, produced by left-wing commentator Cenk Uygur, Piker’s uncle, features startling exchanges in a grocery store. In one scene, a woman tells a man she cannot afford eggs because her money had to be spent “killing Palestinians.”

El-Sayed’s campaign has emphasized that it neither created nor endorsed the advertisement, saying it “has always been focused on addressing the most critical challenges Michiganders are facing.”

“Abdul promises to get money out of politics,” Stevens wrote in her lengthy statement early Friday.

“He can begin by getting Israel out of his explanation for everything Michigan cannot afford.”

El-Sayed has apologized for some of his past remarks as he seeks to bring Democrats together ahead of the election.

In a statement Friday, however, El-Sayed highlighted his primary victory over Stevens and said that while she “seems intent on relitigating a primary… let’s all focus on the task at hand: beating Mike Rogers.”

A source within El-Sayed’s campaign is now asking Stevens not to attend future campaign events, saying her presence could “distract from the central issues of the campaign,” according to Politico.

Mallory McMorrow, who also sought the nomination before withdrawing and endorsing El-Sayed, reacted sharply. “I have no idea what the hell Haley Stevens is doing. This is a moment where we have to recognize the stakes,” she said.

Then on Friday, Stevens released a lengthy statement on social media criticizing her former rival and demanding he condemn an advertisement linking US support for Israel to rising grocery prices and address concerns about his past rhetoric

Stevens’ lengthy Friday statement criticized her former rival and called on him to denounce an advertisement linking US support for Israel to higher grocery prices while addressing concerns about his past rhetoric

“Every Democrat was singing the same tune but now, because one person is tone deaf, the whole choir is thrown off,” said a source not affiliated with El-Sayed’s campaign.

Rogers – who has been working to court Jewish Democratic voters – later applauded Stevens, calling her ‘a courageous leader who deserves the respect of every Michigan voter.’

He said Stevens was ‘absolutely right to call’ on El-Sayed to denounce the ad. ‘It is as shameful as it is disappointing that his response to her clearly shows that he does not care about those concerns,’ Rogers wrote on X.

President Donald Trump was much more blunt in a statement at a rally in Daytona Beach, Florida Friday.

‘If you’re Black, or if you’re Jewish, and you vote for Abdul, you’re not smart,’ he said.

The RealClearPolitics polling averages currently shows El-Sayed leading Rogers by five points.

Michigan hasn’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1994, but Donald Trump won the state in 2016 and 2024.

Republicans face political challenges of their own, particularly voter dissatisfaction with Trump, the Iran war and high costs.

El-Sayed is facing off with former Congressman Mike Rogers (pictured) for the open Michigan Senate seat

El-Sayed is facing off with former Congressman Mike Rogers (pictured) for the open Michigan Senate seat

Rogers has remained closely aligned with the president on most issues, appearing alongside him at a Michigan rally Sunday where he credited Trump with bringing manufacturing jobs back to the state.

The rally took place in Port Huron, just across the river from Canada, a country with deep economic ties to Michigan that Trump has targeted with tariffs.

El-Sayed has held campaign events in heavily Republican areas, including Michigan´s Upper Peninsula.

His team also released an ad featuring clips of prominent conservative figures praising him, including former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who has faced accusations of antisemitism that he denies.

But the ad created another source of friction with some Jewish voters.

Rabbi Aaron Starr of Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield criticized both the Rebellion PAC ad and El-Sayed´s campaign ad during a call with reporters.

‘We are one week away from the election, and it feels like the temperature has turned way up,’ Starr said.

‘Instead of things getting better over the last seven weeks, they´ve actually gotten worse.’

President Donald Trump was much more blunt about El-Sayed in a statement at a rally in Daytona Beach, Florida Friday. 'If you're Black, or if you're Jewish, and you vote for Abdul, you're not smart,' he said

President Donald Trump was much more blunt about El-Sayed in a statement at a rally in Daytona Beach, Florida Friday. ‘If you’re Black, or if you’re Jewish, and you vote for Abdul, you’re not smart,’ he said

Trump has repeatedly attacked El-Sayed´s Muslim faith, calling him a ‘jihadist’ and saying Sunday that he was ‘on the side of terrorists.’

Both candidates are trying to win over Black voters, particularly in Detroit’s Wayne County, where Stevens defeated El-Sayed in the Democratic primary.

El-Sayed’s event with  Clyburn is part of an effort to shore up support among Black voters.

Much of El-Sayed’s final campaign stretch has included appearances in Detroit.

Rogers has also sought to make inroads with Black voters. He visited a reading remediation program at a Detroit high school and discussed housing costs with residents in Pontiac, north of the city.

Earlier this month, his wife handed out $10 gift cards at a gas station.

El-Sayed and Stevens last appeared together on Aug. 6, two days after the primary. Stevens pledged to support El-Sayed, telling CBS News she would do ‘whatever he wants me to do’ on the campaign trail.

But divisions from the contentious primary have persisted. Nearly $60 million was spent on advertising attacking El-Sayed, including $30 million from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC.

Stevens is a staunch supporter of Israel who represents a district with a large Jewish community in Detroit´s suburbs.

The church visit on Sunday is intended to further that elusive unity, although its impact is uncertain, given that it comes just two days before the election.

Michigan early voting started Octobert 24.

Seattle Cop Suspended After Video Shows Him Punching Shirtless Suspect

0

A police officer in the Seattle area has been taken off active duty after video appeared to show him repeatedly punching a shirtless suspect in the head while holding him down in the middle of a busy roadway.

Andrew Bryant, an officer with the Auburn Police Department, was placed on administrative leave after footage captured the confrontation during a violent arrest Wednesday afternoon.

The video shows Bryant straddling the suspect and striking his head and face for more than 20 seconds as motorists remained stopped nearby and watched the incident unfold.

The force of the blows left the officer with significant injuries to his hands, according to police.

The encounter has triggered an independent criminal investigation by the neighboring Renton Police Department, in addition to an internal review by Auburn police.

Relatives identified the suspect as Mauro Alberto Felix Valles. Police said he had been moving through traffic and trying to enter passing vehicles before officers arrived.

An 18-minute police video shows the shirtless man crossing multiple lanes while drivers slow down and maneuver around him.

Bryant is then seen walking toward Valles in the roadway while repeatedly ordering him to stop and get on the ground.

‘Hey, you’re under arrest. Get on the ground! Do it now! Get on the ground! Hey!’ the officer shouts.

When Valles keeps moving, Bryant issues another warning.

‘Hey, get on the ground right now! Are you going to get tased?’

Valles does not comply, and Bryant deploys his Taser, causing him to fall to the ground.

Instead of ending the encounter, however, the arrest quickly turns into a physical struggle.

Bryant climbs onto Valles and tries to pull his arms behind his back so he can apply handcuffs.

Valles appears to twist and resist as the officer attempts to restrain him. Bryant then begins striking the suspect repeatedly in the head and face.

A nearby traffic camera captures Bryant seated on top of Valles as he repeatedly drives his fists toward the man’s head.

At one stage, the officer’s body-worn camera falls off although it continues recording audio and the exertion with which Bryant is raining down blows upon Valles can be heard.

Another camera captures the violent confrontation from above, showing the officer continuing to strike the man as he lies on the road.

The suspect can be heard shouting as the struggle continues, with Bryant staying  on top of him until additional officers arrive.

Bodycam footage shows it ultimately took four officers to bring the man under control and secure him in handcuffs.

Even after being restrained, the man continued screaming and resisting, prompting firefighters to attend the scene to help calm him.

Both the suspect and Bryant were subsequently taken to local hospitals for evaluations.

Bryant required medical attention for his hands following the confrontation.

Police initially said the man did not appear to have suffered serious injuries, although his relatives have since claimed he sustained a concussion and other physical injuries.

Valles’ family has said he was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the confrontation.

Police booked him on allegations of non-felony drug possession, disorderly conduct, obstruction and attempted assault.

He subsequently posted bond and was released from custody on Thursday. As of Friday, prosecutors had not filed formal criminal charges against him.

The Auburn Police Department released body-worn camera, dashboard camera and traffic surveillance recordings following the encounter.

‘We understand the concern surrounding the October 28 incident,’ the department said in a statement.

‘The officer involved in the incident on Auburn Way North and 37th ST NE was placed on administrative leave yesterday pending a full investigation.’

Police insisted they were treating the allegations seriously.

Aboard a Spanish High-Speed Train After the System’s Latest Disaster

0

ZAMORA – For generations, Spaniards have embraced the country’s celebrated high-speed rail network, regularly choosing the Ave—Spanish for “bird”—instead of cars or planes for business journeys and vacations.

That confidence has been badly shaken after two deadly train crashes in the space of nine months claimed more than 100 lives and raised fresh questions about a railway system long associated with speed and safety.

Two days after a collision in central Spain left 69 people dead, the country was still absorbing images of mangled train cars and injured survivors. An Associated Press journalist spoke with passengers who nevertheless chose to continue traveling by rail.

“I need to travel for work, so I’m taking the train because I don’t have another choice,” said Carla Fuentes, a 37-year-old economist, before departing Madrid for Alicante in southern Spain. “But some of my colleagues are driving and say they won’t board another train until there are meaningful changes.”

Her Thursday service was later canceled as rail workers went on strike, calling for stronger safety measures across the network.

“It’s understandable,” Fuentes said of the walkout. “So many people died, and there is a great deal of anger.”

The tragedy remained in passengers’ minds on Friday as they boarded the Madrid-to-Zamora train. Still, most appeared prepared to accept the risks of traveling at speeds approaching 300 kph (186 mph).

After a 50-minute wait, the train finally departed. Over the public-address system, the conductor thanked the passengers who had chosen to remain loyal to the Ave.

“I can only thank you for your patience and admire your decision to continue traveling by train at a time like this,” he said.

Authorities admit trust in the railways is shattered

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who is facing an election in four weeks, acknowledged the scale of the challenge during a Friday visit to the crash site. He said authorities would have to work to rebuild faith in Spain’s rail service.

“Confidence in our high-speed railway has been broken,” Sánchez said. “This government must determine not only what went wrong, but also what solutions are needed to ensure a tragedy of this scale never happens again.”

The Toledo province crash occurred only nine months after a separate collision farther south on the Madrid-Seville route. That incident killed 49 people when one train derailed and hit another traveling in the opposite direction.

“I’ve used high-speed trains for many years, but my confidence has been damaged,” said María Rodríguez, 56, while traveling to Zamora. “Two crashes in a year, with so many deaths, is a serious matter.”

The train rules in Spain

High-speed rail has reshaped travel across Spain, dramatically shortening journeys from Madrid to major cities, including destinations along the country’s coast.

Spain began operating its first high-speed route in 1992 and has since built 3,900 kilometers (2,400 miles) of high-speed track for a population of 49 million. Only China has a larger network, with 45,000 kilometers (28,000 miles) serving 1.4 billion people, according to the International Union of Railways, which classifies trains traveling above 250 kph (155 mph) as high-speed services.

For both work and leisure, high-speed rail has become Spain’s preferred way to travel.

Of the 13 million journeys between Madrid and Barcelona in 2024, nine million were made by high-speed train, figures from Spain’s National Markets and Competition Commission show. Rail demand has continued to climb, with high-speed passenger numbers doubling between 2019 and 2025.

Before high-speed service, the 600-kilometer (385-mile) trip from Madrid to Barcelona took roughly seven hours on older trains, prompting many business travelers to fly. Today, the same journey can be completed in about 2 ½ hours.

Shorter travel times have made day trips between many Spanish cities possible.

But Spain’s enormous investment in building high-speed rail has come at the expense of slower commuter services, while train workers’ unions argue that the administration has not spent enough on maintaining the network.

Adrián Blaya, a 29-year-old data analyst traveling on the Zamora-Madrid line, echoed the common complaint that the service has worsened in recent years with delays and breakdowns becoming habitual.

Ironically, he felt safer than usual following the deadly crash.

“The safest time to travel in Ave is after a tragedy because this is when they are extra careful,” he said. “Today I feel safer traveling because I know they will be focused.”

Two Arrested in Case of Missing SNL Writer’s Sister

Police have arrested two people on suspicion of murder nearly a year after Christina Downer, the sister of a Saturday Night Live writer, disappeared.

Delorean Bijon Brandon and Kaylee Nicole Markowski were taken into custody Thursday in connection with Downer’s alleged killing, the Los Angeles Police Department announced Friday.

Downer, whose brother is SNL writer Jimmy Fowlie, vanished late last year. She was reported missing on December 15, 2025, after her ex-husband requested a welfare check when he could no longer reach her, authorities said.

At the time, Downer’s boyfriend, Brandon, told authorities she had moved out months earlier. However, her belongings remained at the property, including her car and dog.

Her cellphone was later discovered washed ashore at Santa Monica Beach. Police said Brandon and Markowski were identified as the people allegedly responsible for Downer’s death.

The LAPD also alleges that Brandon, 41, and Markowski, 34, disposed of Downer’s body and took steps to conceal their involvement.

Earlier this month, investigators searched an Airbnb in Joshua Tree as part of the ongoing effort to locate Downer, NBC Los Angeles previously reported.

According to the LAPD, investigators deployed K-9 units and carried out an extensive search across the California desert. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the operation.

Police have not said whether anything connected to the case was found during the search. The investigation remains ongoing.

Brandon and Markowski are being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. Each is being held on $2 million bail.

Downer’s disappearance followed an unusual social media post in which she appeared in a tight red top inside her Los Angeles apartment, pouting at the camera.

“Living at peace. If you wanna send me a Christmas treat, I’ll be waiting. Happy holidays, everyone,” she wrote on December 14, 2025.

She also listed her Cash App and Venmo usernames in her Instagram bio, allowing her roughly 700 followers to send her money.

Friends and relatives later told the Daily Mail in May that the playful post seemed unusual because they had not heard from Christina for weeks beforehand.

Her brother Jimmy said he believed she was dead. In a heartbreaking post shared in April, he wrote: “Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayer for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable.”

Despite the murder arrests, police continue to classify Downer’s case as a disappearance. The LAPD also declined to confirm to NBC whether investigators were searching for human remains in Joshua Tree.

Downer also had a tumultuous relationship with Brandon, a face-tattooed R&B singer,  and filed a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, whom she accused of stalking and harassing her.

Her ex-husband, Ryan Downer, told the Daily Mail in May that he phoned in a wellness check in December after not hearing from her for weeks.

Ryan and Christina married in 2015 in their hometown of Woburn, Massachusetts, not too far from where Christina danced at a local gentlemen’s club after giving up a career in adult entertainment. She went by the name ‘Chavon Taylor.’

The pair separated in November 2023, citing ‘irreconcilable differences,’ according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail. But it was amicable.

Ryan called authorities when she didn’t respond to him for weeks.

‘It just doesn’t make any sense why she would leave without telling anyone. That’s not like her. We just want to know what happened because none of it makes any sense.’

When cops did a welfare check at her apartment in Koreatown, the place was clean and tidy with nothing out of the ordinary, Ryan told the Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail also learned in May that Christina had an on-and-off relationship with Brandon.

Ryan said that Christina and Brandon had a toxic relationship and she often left him voice messages complaining about their dynamic.

In September 2024, Christina filed a temporary restraining order against Brandon’s ex-girlfriend, claiming she had been harassing them for years.

The Daily Mail contacted the LAPD for comment.
