Rodri Expresses Desire to Join Barcelona as Aston Villa Finalizes Deal with Atletico Star, Potentially Easing Cristian Romero’s Path to Spain

The excitement of the transfer season is upon us once more, with the window open until September 1. This period promises a whirlwind of activity as clubs scramble to secure key players for the upcoming season.

Get the latest updates right here from Simon Jones and the team at Daily Mail Sport.

Aston Villa agree move for Ruggeri

In a significant move, Atletico Madrid’s left-back Matteo Ruggeri has reached an agreement to join Aston Villa.

This transfer is set to facilitate Atletico’s ambitious plans to pursue Tottenham’s stalwart captain Cristian Romero.

West Ham back in for Solomon

West Ham have revived talks with Tottenham over a deal for winger Manor Solomon.

Talks initially broke down over bonuses due if West Ham were promoted which the Championship side thought were unreasonable but the clubs are working towards a £10m agreement.

Hojbjerg is Newcastle’s surprise midfield target

Newcastle United are interested in former Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The experienced Danish international has been identified as someone who could help smooth the transition from losing Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali from their midfield.

Though far from the headline signing Newcastle fans would have been hoping for, the 31-year-old knows the Premier League well and could provide the steadying hand for their two young additions Sean Steur, 18, and Aladji Bamba, 20.

Hojbjerg has 97 caps for Denmark and has been performing consistently well for Marseille. Newcastle had previously tried to sign him in 2022 from Tottenham for £30m.

He joined Marseille permanently last year, after an initial loan, for £17m and worked under Spurs boss Roberto de Zerbi. He has gone on to make 75 appearances and score eight goals for the French side in all competitions.

Newcastle sport director Ross Wilson has been working through an extensive list of names but at least knows that Hojbjerg could hit the ground running and provide Matthias Jaissle with another experienced head in the dressing room.

Newcastle have previously enquired about Lucas Bergvall at Tottenham, Felix Nmecha at Dortmund and Angelo Stiller of Stuttgart as they try to find the right blend for their midfield.

Guimaraes, 28, has been sold for £75m this week and will be confirmed as an Arsenal player over the weekend.

Wilson said: ‘We didn’t want to sell him. It was a world record fee for a player his age.

‘What we had to weigh up was, very respectfully from Bruno with his behaviour towards us, very emotionally as well, effectively told us he wanted to leave and move on.

‘That doesn’t mean he can go but it certainly plays a part in what our thinking is when we hit a certain range of number. But there’s no part in saying it was part of our strategy and was in our thinking this summer — it wasn’t.

‘But we have got to be flexible and react to things that happen. It might have been in our plan to sign one player but we didn’t get him so we move on to another. We can only be honest about that.’

WITH CRAIG HOPE

United keeping tabs on Hall

Manchester United made a fresh enquiry for Newcastle left back Lewis Hall at the end of last month but were told he is not for sale.

As reported, Hall has been on United’s radar this summer as it is clear they need to strengthen that position with Luke Shaw, now 31, in the final year of his contract while youngster Harry Amass has been told he may be best leaving for first team football.

Newcastle want to strengthen in that position themselves and also want a right-back with Tino Livramento likely to move on.

They are among the clubs who have checked on 19-year-old Jorge Salinas at Racing Santander along with Aston Villa. But Newcastle see Salinas as one for the future rather than ready to go now.

Palace sign ex-Arsenal man

Crystal Palace have signed former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu on a free transfer.

Daily Mail Sport understands the 27-year-old has signed a one-year contract, with the option to extend it by a further two years.

Tomiyasu, who made 65 appearances for Arsenal from 2021-25, spent last season at Ajax but missed most of the campaign through injury.

The Japanese international will provide depth at centre-back and wing-back for Pierre Sage’s side.

BOBBY MANZI

Eagles swoop for Gozo

Crystal Palace have agreed an £11million deal to sign Real Salt Lake winger Zavier Gozo.

The 19-year-old has been given permission to have a medical.

Tigers pounce on Norwegian midfielder

Hull have signed midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso for a fee around £8million.

The 20-year-old has penned a five-year contract until the summer of 2031, becoming the Tigers’ sixth summer signing.

Lukic likes look of Ipswich

Fulham midfielder Sasa Lukic has completed his Ipswich medical ahead of a £9m move. He is expected to sign a four-year deal.

Atletico remain in pole position for Romero

Atletico Madrid remain in talks with Tottenham for Cristian Romero.

Numbers have been discussed between the two clubs, though Atletico have yet to make a formal offer.

Daily Mail Sport reported in July that Atletico had rekindled their long term interest in the Argentina centre back, who also has Inter Milan keen to sign him.

However, the Italians are struggling to meet his personal terms despite offering £34m to Spurs.

Arsenal had enquired to Romero’s representatives but that is unlikely with Diego Simeone and Atletico in pole.

Rodri sets sights on Barca

Rodri has informed Real Madrid that he wishes to join Barcelona.

The Spanish champions are now in official contact with Manchester City to try and agree a fee though their initial proposal is understood to be closer to £40million, well below their £68million valuation.

His representatives say out of respect to Madrid who were ‘class in their approach’, they were informed that the 30-year-old’s preference is to link up with Hansi Flick’s squad.

Wrexham target Ipswich keeper

Wrexham have asked about Ipswich Town’s Alex Palmer as an alternative solution to find a new goalkeeper for the Championship season.

The 29-year-old is valued around £3.5million.

Wrexham have also been talking to Sunderland about Anthony Patterson though he is priced around £8m.

Leicester City’s Harry Souttar remains a target too though Sheffield United are also in the mix for the Australia centre back.

Emotional Demi Schweers Responds to MS Misinformation and ‘Fake’ Health Accusations

Demi Schweers has opened up about her ongoing fight with multiple sclerosis, addressing a recent cruel accusation that her health issues are not genuine.

In a TikTok post on Thursday, August 7, Schweers, 32, responded to the unfounded comment with a powerful message about living with an often “invisible illness.” Her post included a screenshot of the comment questioning, “What happened to Demi’s fake MS journey?” Schweers shared, “I wanted to show what enduring such vile remarks reveals about coping with such conditions.”

Schweers, an influencer known for courageously discussing her struggles with both her autoimmune disorder and polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), disclosed that she recently received distressing news following an MRI conducted a few weeks ago.

“From 2020 until now, my MS had been stable with no new lesions,” Schweers stated in an emotional video. “Unfortunately, I recently found out there’s a new lesion, which is demoralizing news.”

Selma Blair also offered an update on her journey with multiple sclerosis, more than seven years after she first disclosed her diagnosis. In an interview with Stellar on Saturday, November 22, the 53-year-old actress expressed relief that she had been free from relapses for a “couple of years,” and conveyed gratitude that her condition remained unchanged. “This stability is incredibly important to me,” she shared, emphasizing the significance of her health not deteriorating.

As her new reality sunk in, Schweers started to get tears in her eyes.

“F***. I don’t even know what to say,” she confessed. “I just hope that insurance approves this new medication and I’m able to get stable again and everything stays the same. OK, I need to process this.”

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the brain and spinal cord where the body’s immune system “attacks the protective cover of nerve cells,” according to Mayo Clinic. The illness can lead to scars or lesions and blocked signals from the brain can create issues with movement, vision and balance.

Demi, who shares two children with husband Tom Schweers, expanded upon her health issues in the TikTok caption, calling out the troll who claimed she was making it all up.

“I’ve been really in my head the past few days and trying to stay as positive as possible,” she wrote, noting once again that she was diagnosed with MS in 2020.

Demi recalled that at her “worst” she couldn’t walk, lost her vision in her right eye and had “chronic fatigue and brain fog.”

The content creator explained that since 2021, she’s been “stable” and found a medication that was “working” and made her feel “good” during her back-to-back pregnancies. (Demi welcomed daughter Nora in May 2023 and son Theodore in June 2024.)

“That all changed this past Sunday. I had an MRI two and a half weeks ago and as this has become standard for me I wasn’t too worried about my results,” Demi shared. “I logged and and saw the words ‘NEW LESION: present, upper vertical cord’ & ‘T1characteristics: T1 hypointensity.’”

Ned Fulmer Reveals His ‘Life Changing’ 12-Year Health Battle for the 1st Time: ‘Completely Overwhelming’

Former Try Guys YouTuber Ned Fulmer has been facing a private health battle for more than a decade — and has now decided to share his story. “I have MS,” Fulmer, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly before the release of his Sunday, November 23, YouTube video, where he revealed his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. “I […]

She recalled feeling “upset, numb, sad, scared” and countless other emotions while trying to process the news.

Demi revealed that she later received a message from a neurologist she’d “never spoken to before,” which upped her anxiety about the new lesion.

After a few days, Demi was told she needed another MRI on her brain, cervical spine and thoracic spine but all tests are being scheduled out at least four to five months in advance.

“I’m hoping that with this new finding I’m able to get in sooner,” she added. “As of right now, I don’t really know what this means for me in my health and I’m honestly a little bit scared.”

The Iris Nutrition founder noted, “The only thing I can do right now is wait to find out when my MRI will be scheduled and go from there. I’m gonna continue to live my life as normally as I can without getting in my head.”

She concluded by saying that she chose to share her story so that “someone else in their health journey feels less alone.”

“Having chronic illness and one that’s typically invisible is so difficult — but we’re in this journey together. 🧡 #multiplesclerosis #ms #update,” Demi wrote.

Celebs with MS

Christina Applegate, Selma Blair, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Jack Osbourne and many other celebrities have opened up about dealing with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease. Applegate revealed in August 2021 that she was diagnosed with the condition. “Hi friends. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with MS,” the Married … With Children alum wrote via X […]

Despite the one hater claiming Demi was “faking” her illness for years, the majority of the comments on her TikTok were full of hope and support.

“I found your page when I was diagnosed and you have been such a light in my life,” one social media user wrote in the comments section. “I call my lesions brain glitter. You just got new glitter. ✨ I hope that helps 💕.”

Another person replied, “Demi I’m so sorry to hear things have flared up again. It’s so messed up someone would comment this.”

Demi’s husband, 37, also commented on the clip, writing, “I love you.”

Discover Hallmark’s Unexpectedly Great Hit on ‘The Odyssey

0

Debate persists in cinematic circles about the ultimate adaptation of Homer’s iconic epic. While Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” released in 2026, firmly asserts itself as the quintessential take, it’s essential to recognize that it isn’t the sole commendable rendition. Decades earlier, in 1997, audiences were treated to a captivating miniseries by Hallmark Entertainment and American Zoetrope. Despite its age, this version remains a standout in the realm of live-action adaptations.

Crafted by the talented Andrei Konchalovsky, renowned for “Maria’s Lovers,” Hallmark’s miniseries earned a well-deserved Primetime Emmy for outstanding direction. It also clinched an Emmy for its stunning visual effects and garnered nominations for several technical categories. While its critical success isn’t on par with Nolan’s film—boasting an impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes—the miniseries holds its own with a respectable 79% rating, affirming its status as a remarkable viewing experience.

Hallmark’s The Odyssey has a cast for the ages

With Francis Ford Coppola as its co-executive producer, this TV adaptation graced NBC with an ensemble cast that leaves a lasting impression. Armand Assante stars as Odysseus alongside Greta Scacchi as Penelope, Christopher Lee as Tiresias, Isabella Rossellini as Athena, and Vanessa Williams as Calypso. Their performances are nothing short of stellar, earning Assante and Scacchi Golden Globe nominations for their captivating portrayals.

The miniseries unfolds over two parts, beginning with the summons to the Trojan War and culminating in Odysseus’s return to Ithaca years later. While it traverses familiar territory seen in Nolan’s rendition, the storytelling and depiction of mythological creatures and deities offer a distinct perspective. These variations in interpretation provide viewers with unique insights into Odysseus’s fabled journey.

Take, for example, Circe’s portrayal. Nolan’s version presents a surprising take through Samantha Morton, which starkly contrasts with Bernadette Peters’s portrayal in the miniseries. This divergence in narrative and characterization ensures both adaptations offer fresh experiences, retaining their charm without repetitive overlap. It’s like discovering a Trojan horse painted in a new hue—equally enthralling, yet distinct.

San Francisco Father Interrogated by Park Rangers for Coaching His Kids at Public Tennis Court

0

In what was meant to be a leisurely day of sports, a California father found himself in an unexpected encounter with park authorities who suspected him of conducting unauthorized tennis lessons.

Sam Dogen, a dad from San Francisco, recounted to News Media how his simple plan of hitting the tennis court with his young daughter, aged six, and son, aged nine, after a Hawaiian vacation quickly took a surprising turn at Golden Gate Heights Park.

“I just wanted to help the kids shake off some jet lag with some outdoor fun and tennis—it’s an activity we’ve enjoyed countless times before,” Dogen explained, reflecting on his intentions for the day.

However, roughly 20 minutes into their game, Dogen recounted that two rangers from the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department approached them, questioning whether he had the necessary permit for teaching tennis.

“I was immediately thinking to myself, ‘What are you talking about? These are my kids,'” he recalled.

According to Dogen, the confusion ended only after one of his children spoke up.

“He’s my daddy,” his son told the rangers, Dogen said.

The family was never cited, but Dogen said one ranger told him the penalty for teaching without a permit could have been $192.

Dogen emphasized that the encounter ended with what he described as an educational warning, not a citation. Still, he questioned why the interaction happened at all.

“There was nobody waiting,” he said. “It was just a surprise to me. Why even bother trying to disrupt a perfectly nice afternoon, father with his children?”

The Recreation and Parks Department previously told The San Francisco Standard that rangers routinely check whether people providing instruction on public courts are operating commercially, since paid tennis instruction requires a permit.

“This was a routine interaction,” department spokesperson Tamara Aparton told the outlet. “Because paid instruction is not allowed on public courts without a permit, rangers will sometimes ask questions to determine whether someone is providing commercial instruction or simply using the courts for personal recreation or coaching their kids.”

Dogen said he understands why the city regulates commercial instruction but added that he believes parents teaching their own children should be treated differently.

“Raising children in a city as expensive as San Francisco is hard enough,” Dogen told News Media. “When you add law enforcement officers who aren’t friendly, it gets even tougher.”

He said his immediate concern during the interaction was making sure the situation stayed calm with his children standing nearby.

“My only instinct was to de-escalate and keep my 6-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son safe,” Dogen said.

Looking ahead, Dogen joked that he may carry documentation with him the next time he takes his children to the public courts.

“I’m going to get their birth certificates and carry them with me in my tennis bag just to prove they’re my children,” he said. “I’m not going to get a permit to teach my children.”

Dogen said he hopes the incident prompts city officials to take a more family-friendly approach to enforcing park rules.

“My hope is that San Francisco becomes a more welcoming place for children and families, not a place where a father teaching his own kids tennis on an empty court gets threatened with a $192 fine,” he said.

California Murder Suspect Nabbed Posing as His Victim

0

In a shocking turn of events, a California man is accused of murdering his roommate, concealing his body in a shallow grave in their backyard, and then fleeing in the victim’s truck. The suspect was apprehended over 1,100 miles away, authorities claim, while he was pretending to be the deceased roommate.

Last week, authorities in Oregon stumbled upon the unexpected while patrolling the Mt. Hood National Forest. They found a camper who introduced himself as 61-year-old Daniel Joslin, the rightful owner of a parked black Ford F-150 nearby.

Although the vehicle’s paperwork and license plate appeared in order, there was a significant issue: Joslin had been reported as missing.

Further investigation revealed that the individual in the forest was not Joslin but was allegedly his 60-year-old roommate and killer, Cris Jones.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office informed Oregon counterparts that they were on the lookout for Jones following the unexplained disappearance of Joslin, who had not been seen or heard from in 10 days.

Then came the grisly discovery.

One day before Oregon cops encountered Jones — and more than a month after Joslin was reported missing — California investigators executing a search warrant at the roommates’ home in Yucca Valley found Joslin’s body buried in “a shallow grave,” authorities said.

Jones had apparently fled the California home and made his way north, ending up more than 1,100 miles away in Oregon’s Mt. Hood National Forest.

Oregon authorities finally swooped in Aug. 2, deploying a SWAT team and air unit to arrest Jones near Harriet Lake, where cops had first encountered him.

Aerial footage captured the dramatic arrest, with officers surrounding Jones at gunpoint.

Cops also allegedly found a knife and sheath tucked into Jones’ front pants pocket. He also had outstanding warrants in Clackamas and Washington counties, officials said.

Jones was being held Friday in the Clackamas County Jail on the murder case and is awaiting extradition to California.

According to Jones’ Facebook profile, he attended Portland State University.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Revitalized Englewood Homes Offer First-Time Buyer Opportunities

0

CHICAGO (WLS) — A transformative project has breathed new life into a century-old home in Englewood, offering a fresh path to homeownership for newcomers while laying the groundwork for lasting financial growth.

Recent homeowner Abria Williams has embarked on this exciting journey, having acquired her beautifully renovated home even before the final touches were put in place.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

“It’s a testament that luxury living is possible in any Chicago neighborhood,” Williams expressed with enthusiasm.

Williams candidly shared that the experience demanded considerable patience and reliance on those involved.

“It was all about trust. Trust in the developer, trust in my realtor; it was about believing in the process,” she reflected.

The home was one of two properties renovated by developer Alejandro Sotello. According to Sotello, the work required extensive reconstruction.

“There’s nothing in here that stayed. Both buildings were gutted to the brand, so there’s nothing that stayed except the shell of it,” Sotello said.

Williams is among a growing number of homeowners supported through the City of Chicago’s Rebuild program. The initiative, working alongside the Chicago Community Loan Fund, focuses on redeveloping vacant properties in neighborhoods that have experienced disinvestment.

More than 70 homes throughout Chicago have already been developed through the program. The effort aims to preserve housing stock, reduce blight, return properties to productive use, and create pathways to homeownership.

“The program brings together the resources and expertise needed to preserve existing housing, to turn vacant properties to productive use,” said Wendell Harris of the Chicago Community Loan Fund.

For Sotello, the rehabilitation of the two Englewood homes carries personal significance.

“It’s a feeling of fulfillment, right? To be able to do something else for somebody else, not just the people who can afford it,” Sotello said.

The renovated homes feature hardwood floors, balconies, fireplaces, and fresh paint. During the event, Mayor Brandon Johnson joked about a future visit to Williams’ home.

“You are hosting Thanksgiving in your new career. I’ve been working on my mac and cheese. I got you,” Johnson said.

The City of Chicago’s Rebuild program said it currently has 45 additional homes under development as it continues its effort to expand homeownership opportunities across the city.

NY Doctor’s Affair with Stripper Takes Dramatic Turn: Calls Police After Pledge to Leave Wife

0

In a sensational legal battle unfolding in New York, a prominent married physician finds himself embroiled in allegations of a turbulent affair with a stripper. Court documents claim that after promising to leave his family for her, the doctor reneged and sought police intervention once the affair was revealed to his wife.

Rosana Kissoon, a 39-year-old performer, has filed a lawsuit in Suffolk County Supreme Court against Dr. Keith Hoerning, a well-to-do 51-year-old family doctor and father of two. According to Kissoon, their romantic involvement began after they crossed paths at a Long Island gentlemen’s club in the latter part of 2024.

The lawsuit lays out a timeline in which Hoerning allegedly bombarded Kissoon with calls and messages, professing deep affection and offering lavish gifts totaling tens of thousands of dollars. He allegedly made repeated promises to end his marriage to be with her.

However, this clandestine relationship reportedly fell apart earlier this year when Kissoon took the bold step of informing Hoerning’s wife about their affair. This revelation has since spiraled into a contentious legal struggle, with Hoerning purportedly attempting to have Kissoon detained and seeking protective measures from the court.

Dr. Hoerning alleged to authorities that Kissoon had threatened his family, claiming she would ‘hire goons’ to harm them. He substantiated his fear by referencing a framed Scarface poster owned by Kissoon, arguing it symbolized her capacity for danger, as per the court documents.

Kissoon’s attorney, Michael Treanor, told the Daily Mail the fallout has cost Kissoon her day job at a healthcare facility, forced her to seek counseling and left her emotionally devastated.

She is seeking damages that could exceed $1 million.

‘It’s not just that she thought she was going to have a better life,’ Treanor said.

‘She found out she wasn’t going to have that, and then Keith brought the whole legal system and judicial and police force on her. She’s done nothing wrong but have a relationship with Mr Hoerning.’

Dr Keith Hoerning, a 51-year-old father of two, and his wife, Nicole, 34, were accused in a lawsuit of mounting a coordinated campaign against Rosana Kassoon after she came forward about their alleged affair. Through their attorney, they denied her claims

Rosana Kissoon, 39, alleged in a lawsuit filed last month that she met Hoerning while working at a strip club in Long Island, New York

Kissoon’s lawsuit accuses Hoerning and his glamorous younger wife, Nicole, 34, of mounting a coordinated campaign to punish, silence and discredit her after she exposed the alleged affair.

The Hoernings have not yet filed a response to the allegations in court. But their attorney, Bruce Barket, claimed to the Daily Mail that Kissoon’s lawsuit is ‘filled with lies’ and accused her of orchestrating an illegal blackmail and extortion plot that he hedges will end with criminal charges.

‘This is an issue that I have run across several times. A man makes an error and is blackmailed,’ Barket said. ‘This stripper is different because she had the audacity to file a lawsuit, pushing the blackmail to another level.

‘The suit is filled with lies, provable lies. Nearly every allegation in the suit is false,’ he added.

‘We will file an answer and counterclaims. We have her text messages and voice recordings proving the extortion plot.’

Hoerning is a family physician with 25 years of experience who owns Doctors Care, which operates clinics in Lindenhurst and Long Beach, and is also co-founder and chief medical officer of the wellness and aesthetics center Modern Dose.

He and Nicole live with their two young children in a $900,000 three-bedroom home in Greenlawn, records show.

In her filing, Kissoon claimed the doctor promised he’d leave his family and find a way for them to be together

According to Kissoon’s complaint, Hoerning introduced himself to her at her workplace in November or December 2024 and then pursued her persistently through calls and text messages.

The relationship became intimate in February 2025, and by late October the pair were allegedly seeing each other two or three times a week and communicating every day.

Hoerning allegedly sent messages reading ‘I love you,’ ‘I will give you what you want’ and ‘I will find a way,’ while providing what Treanor described as ‘substantial’ financial support through electronic transfers over the course of their relationship.

Treanor declined to specify how much money Hoerning allegedly sent Kissoon but reiterated the sum was ‘significant’.

The attorney added that Hoerning remained at home with Nicole and their children throughout the relationship, but repeatedly told Kissoon he intended to leave his wife, as noted in the complaint.

‘He had made promises to her that he was leaving her, and that they would have a happy life together,’ Treanor claimed, reiterating what the complaint set forth.

The relationship began to unravel in May 2026 when a lawyer retained by Hoerning sent Kissoon a cease-and-desist letter demanding that she stop contacting him and his family.

The letter also threatened her with federal criminal prosecution and demanded that she destroy records and other evidence of their relationship.

Yet Hoerning allegedly resumed contact almost immediately, the lawsuit says.

Two days after the May 15 letter, he sent Kissoon a personal family photograph through WhatsApp, the complaint says.

Then, on May 24, he allegedly sent her messages reading: ‘So hot! See u soon’ and ‘Miss u already.’

The lawsuit says the messages show Hoerning was still initiating affectionate contact after a lawyer acting on his behalf had demanded that Kissoon stay away and destroy their communications.

Treanor described the letter as ‘intimidating’ and said he doesn’t know why it was sent while the relationship was allegedly continuing, as claimed in the complaint.

Two days after Hoerning’s final messages, on May 26, Kissoon telephoned Nicole and told her about their alleged affair, according to the lawsuit.

Hoerning repeatedly tried to reach Kissoon after she spoke to his wife, the lawsuit says, with telephone records showing approximately 18 outgoing calls from his number that same day.

The following evening, however, he went to police and portrayed Kissoon as a threat, accusing her of aggravated harassment, the suit says.

Hoerning allegedly arrived at Suffolk County Police Department’s Second Precinct and announced: ‘I spoke to my lawyer and I need to have her arrested,’ per the complaint.

He accused Kissoon of threatening him and his family and of ‘destroying his business,’ according to her complaint.

The following day, Hoerning filed a sworn Family Court petition claiming Kissoon had threatened during a phone call to hire ‘goons’ to ‘beat you and your family’ and to ‘rip your wife’s … face off.’

According to Kissoon’s complaint, Hoerning introduced himself to her at her workplace in November or December 2024 and then pursued her persistently through calls and texts

Treanor said Nicole then ‘doubled down’ by making her own allegations and joining her husband’s effort to obtain a restraining order against Kissoon.

He said Kissoon, rather than Hoerning, became the target after revealing the relationship.

Hoerning’s allegation that Kissoon had ‘destroyed his business’ is not explained in the complaint.

Treanor said Kissoon has never worked for, participated in or taken action against any of Hoerning’s medical businesses.

‘How does my client, who is of modest means and works really hard – she worked two jobs – destroy his business?’ he said. ‘There’s no connection whatsoever.’

Hoerning’s sworn Family Court petition also accused Kissoon of sending him a ‘picture of a handgun’ and telling him she had a license to use one, per the complaint.

But her lawsuit says the image showed a framed Scarface display featuring Al Pacino holding a prop firearm, along with a tiny model gun and other pieces of movie memorabilia.

Kissoon says she has never held a firearms license nor owned any gun.

Nevertheless, the Family Court issued a temporary order of protection against her on the strength of Hoerning’s petition, including a firearms-surrender provision.

In his petition, Hoerning also accused Kissoon of grand larceny and attempted assault, despite allegedly describing neither a theft nor any physical attack. The complaint says all money she received had been transferred voluntarily by Hoerning.

The dates in Hoerning’s police complaint and Family Court petition also differed, according to the lawsuit.

His petition placed the alleged threatening call at around 6am on May 25, while the police report recorded it at noon the following day – the same day she told Nicole about the affair and Hoerning allegedly called her around 18 times, per Kissoon’s suit.

Hoerning provided significant financial support over the course of their relationship, Kissoon claimed in the filing

Hoerning provided significant financial support over the course of their relationship, Kissoon claimed in the filing

Kissoon argues in the complaint that his repeated efforts to contact her are inconsistent with his subsequent claim that he feared she was armed and intended to harm his family.

Treanor also said the allegations of violent threats were difficult to reconcile with the trove of messages and recordings he claims to be in possession of, documenting a serious, loving relationship between Kissoon and Hoerning.

‘It speaks to two people who were in a pretty committed relationship,’ he said. ‘My client thought it meant exactly what was told to her – that he was going to build a life with her.’

Five days after her husband’s petition, Nicole Hoerning filed a separate Family Court case against Kissoon, according to Kissoon’s lawsuit.

Nicole described Kissoon under oath as ‘a woman my husband had an intimate relationship with’ and claimed the alleged threat came after Keith ended their relationship, the complaint states.

But Nicole’s filing allegedly contradicted her husband’s account of the supposed weapon he alleged Kissoon possessed.

While Keith had claimed that Kissoon sent a photograph of a handgun, Nicole instead said Kissoon had told Keith she had sent a ‘gun emoji’, according to the filing.

Nicole’s petition did not accuse Kissoon of larceny and did not provide a date or time for the alleged threat that matched Keith’s version, according to the complaint.

Although Nicole claimed to be the principal target of the alleged violence, she did not file a separate criminal complaint with police.

Treanor accused Keith of exploiting the speed and one-sided nature of the emergency Family Court process to secure an immediate order against Kissoon before she could contest his account.

‘He took advantage of that,’ Treanor claimed. ‘He was able to slap the restraining order on her immediately… and it’s completely unjustified.’

Treanor said Kissoon could have sought protective orders against both Keith and Nicole, but chose not to respond in kind.

‘She’s decided not to use the process – not to abuse the process, as I would term it,’ he added.

Kissoon has complied with the temporary order, which remained in effect when she filed her civil lawsuit in late July. No criminal charges were ever brought against her as a result of Hoerning’s police complaint, according to the filing.

Kissoon is suing Keith and Nicole for abuse of process and intentional infliction of emotional distress and financial harm.

She has also accused Keith of defamation over the claims he made to police, including that she had threatened his family and destroyed his business.

The complaint seeks damages of at least $250,000 on each of four causes of action, as well as punitive damages on three of them.

Kissoon says she has incurred $17,875 in legal fees defending herself, in addition to losing her healthcare job, receiving psychological treatment and suffering reputational and emotional harm.

In 2024, Kissoon was involved in a lawsuit against her employer, Queens strip club Gallagher’s 2000, in which she was awarded $17,000 for unpaid minimum wage and unlawful wage deductions.

While Treanor acknowledges that a future with the successful Dr Hoerning could have transformed Kissoon’s personal circumstances, he insists her civil action against him isn’t motivated by money.

‘When I took on this case, it didn’t strike me as a gold-digger situation,’ he said. ‘It struck me that she cared for him… and she really has been victimized in all this.’

Barket, Hoerning’s attorney, meanwhile likened Kissoon’s lawsuit to ‘a burglar suing the homeowner of a house she broke into.’

‘It’s frivolous and insane,’ he claimed. ‘I can’t believe she found a lawyer to bring it, but it certainly explains in part why our profession is not always held in high esteem.’

4 Dynamic Standing Moves for Sculpting Outer Thighs Over 60, Faster Than Traditional Leg Presses

Strong thighs are fundamental to maintaining smooth, everyday movement.

>

The outer thighs play a pivotal yet often overlooked role in our daily mobility. These muscles are critical for stabilizing the hips, offering knee support, and maintaining a level pelvis, which makes walking, running, and stair climbing more seamless. Enhancing the strength of your outer thighs not only bolsters these functions but also significantly decreases the risk of injury.

That being said, toning and fortifying your outer thighs can be a daunting task. But fear not, as we are here to guide you! We consulted with Domenic Angelino, MS, MPH, CSCS, CPT, Chief Exercise Scientist at FitCraft. He offers insight into four standing exercises that can be seamlessly integrated into your fitness routine for tangible improvements.

Standing Hip Abductions

“The key is to maintain a rigid and straight torso while lifting one leg laterally,” advises Angelino. “This technique focuses directly on training the hip abductor muscles, such as the gluteus medius and tensor fascia latae. This exercise is versatile enough to be performed with just body weight, or with added resistance from cables or bands. For added safety and stability, you can perform this standing next to a wall.”

  1. Begin by standing tall with your feet hip-width apart and hands on your hips.
  2. Activate your core and shift your weight onto your left leg.
  3. Keep your right leg straight and toes pointed forward as you lift it out to the side as high as you’re comfortably able to.
  4. Hold at the top for a moment before lowering for 3 seconds.
  5. Repeat on the other side.

4 Bed Exercises That Restore Thigh Strength Faster Than Squats After 65

Lateral Lunges

Lateral lunges activate the vastus lateralis (the outer-side part of the front thigh) and the gluteus medius.

“This exercise is particularly helpful for training the outer thighs because it allows you to work in a very deep range of motion, essentially going as far as your mobility allows you to lunge down, and doing so with weight,” Angelino says. “When you press off the ground with your foot to stand back up, you’ll be engaging outer thigh muscles that work at your knee joint, and outer butt muscles that work at your hip joint.”

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Take a big step out to the side with your left foot, press your hips back, and lower into a lateral lunge.
  3. Press through your left heel to rise back up.
  4. Repeat on the other side.

Side Step-Ups

This exercise engages similar hip abductor muscles as the lateral lunge.

“It is also highly effective at improving iliotibial band strength. It’s another part of your outer thigh that is responsible for stabilization. It can’t be trained directly in a meaningful way in the same way that other muscles can, but it improves when it is forced to stabilize your legs during certain types of movements. Laterally stepping up and off of a box or raised platform will increase its activation and role in stabilization, compared to other exercises,” Angelino adds.

  1. Begin standing sideways next to a sturdy step or plyometric box.
  2. Place the foot closest to the step firmly on top of the surface.
  3. Activate your core and maintain a tall chest.
  4. Press through the heel of the foot on the step to lift your body up until both legs are straight.
  5. Use control to lower.
  6. Repeat on the other side.

Sumo Squats

The sumo squat trains many muscles outside the outer hip, helping you produce greater force with each rep and utilize more weight.

“Using more weight means you’ll be able to provide a stronger stimulus to your muscles and improve faster,” Angelino says. “The sumo squat’s wide stance, with your feet very far apart, is what makes it better at targeting the outer thigh muscles than a normal squat.”

  1. Stand tall with your feet outside shoulder-width, toes slightly pointing outward.
  2. Extend your arms ahead of you, place your hands on your hips, or hold a dumbbell or kettlebell with both hands.
  3. Bend at the knees and hips to lower into a squat.
  4. Descend until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
  5. Press through your heels to return to standing.

Heroic Acts Unfold as Armed Civilians and Off-Duty Trooper Face Down In-N-Out Gunman in Chilling Video

Newly unveiled footage reveals the harrowing route taken by a gunman during a tragic shooting last week in Twin Falls, Idaho. The incident unfolded at an In-N-Out Burger, leaving three people dead and seven others injured.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks provided a comprehensive timeline along with a censored video, detailing the events of the August 1st attack. The footage illustrates the chilling moment as an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper, accompanied by a former law enforcement officer and an armed bystander, engaged the shooter amidst chaos, as patrons and staff scrambled to safety.

The shooter has been identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who authorities suspect operated alone. Currently, investigators have yet to determine a motive behind the assault.

In a statement on Friday, Chief Hicks expressed a conscious decision to omit Williams’ name during their briefing. This decision reflects a commitment to honoring the victims and shifting the narrative to focus on their experiences and lives.

Dispatchers received the first 911 call reporting an active shooter at the In-N-Out restaurant at 2:29 p.m., according to police.

The video begins with the gunman pulling into the restaurant’s drive-thru, where police said he shot and killed restaurant employee Ashley Garibay. He then pulled forward, got out of his car and shot and killed restaurant patron Christopher Claunch with a handgun in the drive-thru.

Former Twin Falls police officer and Idaho State Police trooper Austin James Scott, known as AJ, ran toward the gunfire and confronted the gunman, according to police. Scott drew his handgun but was pulled into a car by others and given aid because of severe blood loss.

Police clarified Friday that Scott was not the off-duty Idaho State Police trooper who also responded to the attack, addressing misinformation that had circulated online.

The gunman then retrieved a rifle from his Honda Civic as an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper inside the restaurant helped evacuate employees and customers while searching for the shooter.

Video released by police shows the trooper and gunman exchanging fire. A bystander who tried to assist the trooper and provide aid to a victim inside the restaurant was also shot, police said.

The gunman then moved toward Blue Lakes Boulevard, where police said he shot three people who were stopped at a red light.

An armed bystander opened fire on the gunman, who ran toward a nearby Tesla charging station, according to police.

Previous News Media reporting identified the armed citizen as Jordan Salinas, 35, of Kimberly, Idaho. Police have said the actions of the armed citizen and off-duty trooper helped drive the gunman away from the restaurant and prevent further casualties.

At the charging station, police said the gunman shot a person inside one Tesla before shooting Dale Schultz, who died, and wounding Schultz’s passenger in a second Tesla.

The gunman continued toward the Twin Falls Visitors Center and a nearby trail as officers closed in, police said. People evacuated the visitors center, while three others sheltered inside as he entered the building.

Police said an employee later confronted the gunman on the trail, giving others time to escape.

Officers pursued him toward the canyon, where an officer found him near the edge behind a shopping center. Police said the gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and his body fell into the canyon.

Officers then returned to help victims as firefighters, paramedics and other emergency personnel provided aid.

Police said the actions of bystanders, employees and first responders helped save lives during the attack.

Investigators are still working to determine what prompted the shooting.

Liberty’s Tough Schedule Looms After Impressive Winning Streak

Few players know the grind of a season quite like Breanna Stewart.

The star athlete has been a constant presence on the court, sitting out just a single game this year.

She’s not just playing; she’s excelling, consistently ranking among the top in the league for minutes per game.

Yet, even seasoned professionals can be caught off guard. When reminded of the Liberty’s recent 10-game slump, where they lost eight matches, the two-time MVP expressed genuine surprise, as if the news were breaking for the first time.

“Dang,” Stewart remarked with surprise following Wednesday’s victory over Seattle. “2-8? Wow.”

It was easy to forget after the Liberty (19-13) won for the sixth time in seven games, while setting a franchise record by scoring at least 90 points for the seventh straight game.

But the Liberty are still not playing to the potential of the preseason title favorite, recovering from its mid-season tailspin after facing five sub-.500 teams — including the past two games at home against the league-worst Storm — in its past six games.

Despite the soft schedule, the Liberty’s past six wins have come by an average of less than five points per game.

Monday’s win against Seattle (6-27) is the Liberty’s only double-digit win since July 3 and its only wire-to-wire victory since May 29.

“I think what we’ve been talking about is just embracing where we are as a team,” Jonquel Jones said. “I think at the beginning of the season we were so used to being that team that would come out, blow people out, have a certain type of win, that I think sometimes it would cost us — not to have a negative vibe, but the expectations of, ‘Wow, we should be up by more.’ So there were times that we would even be winning and it would kind of feel like we were down because we had such a high level of expectation for ourselves.

“Right now, it’s about us embracing it. We’ve been on the other side and there’ve been close games that we lost, so right now we’re taking the ‘W’s, we’re gonna learn from it, we’re gonna continue to get better.”

They must, if they are to make a run at their second title in the past three years.

The Liberty — who host the defending champion Aces (22-9) on Sunday, then travel to Indiana (19-12) — have the league’s third-hardest remaining strength of schedule (.535 opponents’ winning percentage) and are 1-4 in their past five games against winning teams.

The Liberty — who suffered its most recent loss at Las Vegas on July 30 — entered Friday in seventh-place, but could still secure home-court advantage in the first round, with just 1.5 games separating the current No. 4 seed from the No. 8 seed.

The Liberty may need to climb higher, though, to contend for another championship.

The franchise won its only title as a No. 1 seed in 2024.

The previous year, the Liberty reached the WNBA Finals as a No. 2 seed.

Since Stewart and Jones’ arrival to New York, the Liberty are 5-0 as the higher-seed in the postseason, but 0-2 as the lower-seed, including last year’s first-round exit to Phoenix.

And there has only been one champion in league history that wasn’t a top-two seed.

“It’s just understanding we’ve been put in so many situations when we’re down and digging ourselves out of a hole,” Sabrina Ionescu said this week. “They’re all just experiences that we’re able to have in the regular season that should set us up for the postseason.”
