Is Najee Harris’ Long Hair Real? The Truth Behind the Former Steelers RB’s Iconic Dreadlocks

0

Najee Harris has stood out on NFL fields for years—not just for his powerful running style, but for the long, distinctive dreadlocks that spill out from under his helmet. Fans have long wondered: Is Pittsburgh Steelers (now New York Giants) running back Najee Harris’ hair real? How did he grow that signature long hairstyle, and has it changed over time?

The short answer, as of 2026: Yes, Najee Harris’ long hair is real. Those dreadlocks are his natural hair, carefully maintained and grown over many years. There are no credible reports, photos, or statements suggesting wigs, weaves, or extensions as the foundation of his look. His locs have been a consistent part of his identity since high school.

Who Is Najee Harris and Why Does His Hair Stand Out?

Najee Mzee Harris, born March 9, 1998, in Martinez, California, rose from a challenging childhood in the Bay Area—including periods of homelessness—to become a standout at Antioch High School, a national champion at Alabama, a first-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021, and later a player for the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Giants.

At 6-foot-1 and around 232 pounds, Harris is a physical, between-the-tackles runner known for vision, power, and receiving skills. His hair has always been part of the visual package. Descriptions from his high school days repeatedly call out the “distinctive dreadlocks spilling beneath his helmet.” Opponents even targeted them—one high school defender once pulled out a strand during a play.

That consistency across more than a decade is one of the strongest indicators the hair is real and grown naturally.

How Did Najee Harris Grow His Long Hair and Dreadlocks?

Harris has worn dreadlocks since at least his early high school years (around 2014–2015). Growing and maintaining locs is a long-term commitment that typically involves:

  • Starting with natural hair and allowing it to form twists or coils.
  • Regular washing, moisturizing, and retwisting or interlocking to keep the locs neat and healthy.
  • Patience—locs can take years to reach significant length and maturity.
  • Protection under a helmet, which many NFL players with long hair manage carefully.

By the time he was a top national recruit and Alabama commit, the locs were already a signature feature. They continued through his dominant 2020 college season (Doak Walker Award winner, national champion) and into his NFL career with the Steelers, where he earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie and posted multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

No public interviews detail an exact “how-to” routine from Harris himself, but the visual timeline is clear: the same style appears in high school practice photos, Alabama game footage, Steelers action shots, and later Chargers and Giants appearances. The length and density have remained substantial, consistent with well-maintained natural growth rather than sudden additions.

Has Najee Harris Ever Changed His Hairstyle?

Harris has largely stuck with the dreadlocks look throughout his public career. Unlike some athletes who experiment with cuts, fades, or completely different styles, his locs have remained a constant. Occasional variations in how they are styled or tied for games exist, but the foundation stays the same.

In the NFL, long hair (including locs and dreadlocks) is relatively common among running backs and other skill-position players. Players manage it with headbands, skull caps, or careful helmet fitting. Harris has never publicly addressed rumors about the authenticity of his hair—likely because none of substance have circulated in mainstream coverage.

Current Status and Latest Updates (as of September 2026)

As of 2026, Harris is with the New York Giants after stints with the Steelers (2021–2024) and Chargers (2025). His 2025 season was limited by a superficial eye injury from a Fourth of July fireworks accident and a later Achilles injury. He has been working his way back, appearing in preseason action and focusing on recovery.

Photos and video from recent periods continue to show the same long dreadlocks. There has been no reported big chop, major restyle, or any suggestion the hair is anything other than his own.

Why the Curiosity About Whether It’s Real?

Long, well-maintained natural hair on high-profile athletes often sparks questions. Protective styles like locs require time, care, and cultural familiarity that not every fan shares. Combined with the physical demands of football and helmet use, some people simply wonder how players keep it looking so full and lengthy. In Harris’ case, the answer is straightforward growth and maintenance over many years.

FAQs

  1. Is Najee Harris’ hair real?
Yes. Multiple years of consistent photos and game footage from high school through the NFL show natural dreadlocks with no evidence of wigs or major extensions.
  2. How long has Najee Harris had dreadlocks?
At least since his high school days at Antioch (visible in 2015 coverage and earlier). That puts the style at over a decade old as of 2026.
  3. Did Najee Harris ever cut his hair short?
Public images do not show a major big-chop or short style during his rise. The locs have been continuous.
  4. How does he maintain his hair under a football helmet?
Like other players with long hair, he manages it with proper securing, moisture care, and protective practices common in the NFL.
  5. Has Najee Harris talked about his hairstyle?
He has not made it a frequent interview topic. Coverage focuses more on his background, running style, and community work.
  6. What team does Najee Harris play for in 2026?
The New York Giants, after previous stops with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers.
  7. Are there before-and-after photos of his hair growth?
High school images already show developed locs. The “before” would predate widely available public photos from his teenage years.
  8. Does the length of his hair affect his play?
There is no indication it has been a problem. He has been a high-volume, durable runner throughout his career.

Najee Harris’ long hair is real—authentic dreadlocks grown and maintained since his high school days in Antioch, California. The style has been a consistent part of his look through Alabama national championships, a productive Steelers tenure, a stop in Los Angeles, and his current chapter with the Giants. As of 2026, fans can expect to keep seeing those familiar locs flying as he continues his NFL journey. The curiosity is understandable, but the evidence points clearly to natural growth rather than any artificial alternative.

Woman Arrested After Filming Lindsay Clancy Jurors in Court

0

The woman arrested outside the courthouse where jurors are weighing the case of Lindsay Clancy has been identified as Dawn Light, a self-described “true crime junkie” who said she was trying to record the accused killer mother as she left the building.

Light, 56, of Sutton, was arrested outside Plymouth District Court at about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday and charged with intimidation of a witness, jurors or a person providing information in connection with criminal proceedings, Massachusetts State Police said.

She returned to the same courthouse Wednesday for her own arraignment, while the jury continued deliberating Clancy’s fate.

During the hearing, Light was formally charged with aggravated intimidation, and prosecutors requested that bail be set at $50,000 cash.

Prosecutors said state police discovered Light inside her car in a restricted section of the parking lot. When questioned, she allegedly denied that she had been filming or taking photographs.

However, police said when they confiscated Light’s phone they found a file containing a video of the jurors leaving the courthouse in the deleted folder.

‘Court officers were able to confirm she was filming the jurors,’ the prosecutor said.

Light pleaded not guilty and her defense attorney argued she was not intending to get pictures of the jury.

‘This is a complete misunderstanding – [she] was seeking a picture of Ms Clancy,’ the lawyer said.

The judge ruled she will not be held on bail, but ordered her to stay away from the courthouse, the jury and any witnesses, as well as instructed her to not share any photos or videos related to the incident.

She is due back in court for a pretrial hearing on October 15.

As she left the courthouse on Wednesday, Light was swarmed by the media.

She was very defensive, claiming she wanted to see Clancy and wasn’t filming the jury.

When asked why she was filming, she said ‘I wasn’t.’ Then she said, ‘I just wanted to see Lindsay.’

At one point she said, ‘Leave me alone.’

Light, who described herself as a ‘true crime junkie,’ has insisted she was not trying to intimidate anyone, but only wanted to film Clancy as she left the courthouse.

‘That’s the long and the short of it. I don’t know how I intimidated anyone,’ Light told CT Insider.

She claimed that when she realized she was not filming Clancy, she quickly lowered her phone and then was approached by a court employee.

According to Light, the employee asked her if she worked at the courthouse, and when she said no, the staffer as for her driver’s license and phone.

When she refused to hand over her phone, the employee called over a state trooper who confiscated the device and arrested her.

Light told the newspaper that she has attended several days of Clancy’s trial, as well as other high-profile cases such as Karen Read and Alex Murdaugh’s trial.

Light’s arrest came on the same day that the Clancy jury told the judge they were at a standstill.

Tuesday morning, the panel of 12, nine women and three men, told Judge William Sullivan they could not reach a unanimous verdict, but he ordered them to keep deliberating.

‘Members of the jury, I’ve got your question, and the question is, “After many hours of deliberation we are unable to come to a unanimous decision,”‘ Sullivan said.

He acknowledged the length of the trial, but ordered the jury to continue deliberations and sent them back.

At the end of the day, the jury asked to be excused, and the judge agreed.

The jury must reach a unanimous decision on whether Clancy is guilty of murder, manslaughter or not criminally responsible for her actions.

If the jury cannot reach a verdict, the judge will eventually be forced to declare a mistrial.

Travis Kelce Bought Mansion Months Before Swift Wedding

0

Travis Kelce bought a waterfront Ohio mansion for $5.35 million in March, securing the Lake Erie estate months before marrying Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden in July.

The newly renovated Bratenahl property had first hit the market with a $5.99 million asking price, and the sale officially closed on March 2, according to listing records reviewed by the Wall Street Journal.

Dating back to 1895, the expansive 21,140-square-foot compound sits on 3.5 acres of lakefront land and includes eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, three half baths and a five-car garage.

For Kelce, a Cuyahoga County native who grew up only a short drive away in Cleveland Heights, the location carries a personal connection. Its proximity to a private airstrip may also prove practical for a high-profile couple managing a real estate portfolio that has already grown into the double digits.

Swift entered the marriage with an impressive property collection of her own, including a Manhattan condo and homes in Rhode Island, Nashville and California, while Kelce already owned a residence in Kansas City.

David Ayers, who brokered the deal alongside Nick Zawitz of The Agency Cleveland, said the Gilded Age property blends old world charm with a serious glow-up.

“Meticulously restored original details paired with its exceptional modern amenities has created a truly rare Great Lakes estate,” Ayers told The Post in a statement. “We’re thrilled for the new owners and so excited for Cleveland.”

The mansion buy wasn’t the only headline out of Kelce’s world this week. He and Swift also introduced the world to their new Samoyed puppy Wendy, who made her modeling debut in a Tommy Hilfiger campaign shoot on the roof of the Plaza Hotel.

Kelce told Vogue the brand needed a dog for the shoot and he didn’t hesitate to volunteer his own.

“We figured, why not her? She crushed it and actually really fit into that Tommy aesthetic, too,” he said. “Those are some of my favorite shots.”

Of his new pup, he added simply, “She lights up my day.”

Man Pleads Guilty to Attacking JD Vance’s $1.4M Ohio Home

0

A man accused of approaching Vice President JD Vance’s Ohio residence while armed with a hammer has pleaded guilty, after defense attorneys pointed to a long record of mental health challenges, including a schizophrenia diagnosis.

Federal prosecutors in Ohio said Tuesday that 26-year-old William D. DeFoor admitted to charges of engaging in acts of physical violence against government officials and willfully damaging U.S. government property.

DeFoor, previously reported by the Daily Mail to be the child of two affluent physicians and possibly transgender, drew national attention earlier this year after authorities said he entered the grounds of Vance’s Cincinnati property.

Secret Service agents took DeFoor into custody in the early morning hours of January 5 after he ran along the front fence of Vance’s $1.4 million home. Vance and his family were in Washington, D.C., when the incident unfolded.

According to officials, DeFoor then tried to smash the driver’s side window of an unmarked federal law enforcement vehicle, hitting it repeatedly with the hammer.

DeFoor continued to strike the windows of Vance’s home with his hammer and refused demands from law enforcement to drop his weapon, according to charging documents.

Prosecutors estimated that he damaged about $28,000 worth of US government-owned property.

‘Acts of violence directed against our political leaders, their families, or property, have no place in our society and will not be tolerated. Our elected leaders, at all levels of government, must be permitted to carry out their duties free from threats, vandalism, and other forms of violence,’ US Attorney Dominick S Gerace II said of the guilty plea.

‘Perpetrators like DeFoor, who put that freedom at risk, particularly through violent, destructive actions, will, like here, be vigorously prosecuted.’

DeFoor’s attorneys previously said that his actions had ‘nothing to do with the specifics of the vice president’ and were not politically motivated.

His mother, Catherine DeFoor, said in a media statement in January that mental illness was a ‘terrible thing.’

‘It is a struggle which can take over the life of a beautiful person and the people who love and support them,’ she said.

‘Unfortunately for our child, it has taken over his life in a way that we can never have imagined.’

Defense attorneys cited a history of crimes associated with DeFoor’s mental illness. In 2023, he was charged with trespassing at the University of Cincinnati Health Psychiatric Emergency Services.

The court ruled DeFoor incompetent to stand trial, and the case was dismissed. A year later, he was charged with two counts of vandalism after breaking windows at a local business. A court ordered him to receive treatment.

His mother was later granted legal guardianship over him after he was found incompetent by reason of mental illness.

DeFoor’s lawyers previously claimed that he should be released from custody pending trial due to his mental health struggles.

‘Mr. DeFoor’s alleged offense conduct was using a hammer to damage two windows and a car and refusing to listen to the orders of Secret Service Agents,’ defense attorneys argued in a motion to release DeFoor.

‘Put more succinctly, while in the midst of an ongoing mental health crisis a young person damaged property and did not listen to someone shouting at him.’

‘These circumstances are only noteworthy for one reason; it just so happens that this occurred at the home of the Vice President,’ his legal reps added.

Defense attorneys argued that detention would normally never be considered in a vandalism case, adding that prosecutors acknowledged there was no evidence the attack was political.

‘While in the midst of a mental health crisis, Mr. DeFoor used a hammer to damage a home and a car. This is not the behavior of an inherently violent person, merely a person in crisis,’ defense attorneys argued.

DeFoor’s attorneys detailed his diagnosis of schizophrenia and his past history in and out of medical facilities.

The Daily Mail previously reported that DeFoor attended an elite $27,000-a-year Catholic high school and appeared to have transitioned to female, now going by the name Julia.

A Facebook profile under the name Julia DeFoor was created a month before the incident.

The Cincinnati native grew up in the affluent Hyde Park neighborhood in a $1.3 million home with his surgeon father, William, and pediatrician mother, Catherine, and two younger siblings, Libby and Alex.

William is a pediatric urologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. His wife is a general pediatrician at a St Elizabeth Physicians primary care facility in Kentucky.

DeFoor does not appear to have graduated from a traditional four-year university, despite excelling as a high schooler at The Summit Country Day School, a prestigious private school in Cincinnati.

His attorneys noted in a motion that he spent time in a locked-door mental health facility after his 2024 arrest and found a successful treatment regimen.

DeFoor managed his symptoms and started working on his bachelor’s degree until they returned in December 2025.

Judge Douglas R Cole denied DeFoor’s request to await trial at his parents’ home, and he has remained in detention.

The US Attorney’s Office said a sentencing hearing will come at a later date. He faces up to 10 years in prison for the crimes.

The Daily Mail has reached out to DeFoor’s representation for comment.

Austria Plans Political Islam Ban to Counter Muslim Brotherhood

0

Austria’s government says it is preparing a ban on “political Islam,” a move that could also prevent organisations including the Muslim Brotherhood from operating in the country.

In an interview with Vienna’s Heute newspaper, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker said his administration intends to put forward a constitutional law targeting political Islam. “If religion is used politically, we must oppose it with all severity,” he said.

Stocker also reinforced the message on social media, writing: “Let me be clear: I do not want our children and grandchildren to grow up in an Islamic State.”

“In Austria, everyone can believe what they want and what they want. This freedom of faith is protected by our constitution. But where believers and non-believers are distinguished, where men and women are not equal, where our institutions, authorities and courts are not respected, that freedom ends. Just as we protect the practice of religion, we must protect our democracy.”

The proposal has drawn support from Integration Minister Claudia Bauer, who pledged to combat political Islam in Austria and across Europe “with all means possible, because radical Islam is the greatest danger of our time, for our Western democracy, for the freedom of girls and women and for everyone who wants to live their religion peacefully and freely.”

Austria’s Directorate of State Security and Intelligence (DSN) has specifically pointed to the Muslim Brotherhood as an example of political Islam, which it describes as efforts to inculcate Muslim practices in social and political structures with the long-term aim of establishing Sharia law or a Caliphate throughout the West.

It comes as the DSN has warned that the Muslim Brotherhood allegedly infiltrated the ranks of the DERAD association, which is supposedly intended to serve as a deradicalisation network. As a result of the apparent infiltration, the Interior Ministry has removed the DERAD from the government’s network of extremist prevention and deradicalisation groups.

A report last year from French intelligence found that the Muslim Brotherhood was engaged in a decades-long “Western conquest strategy” stemming back to the 1950s.

The report claimed that the group had designed a “matrix of political Islamism adapted to be established” in Western nations, primarily through the infiltration of government and other societally significant institutions.

The intel paper specifically pointed to Germany and Austria as being other major hotspots for Muslim Brotherhood activity, given that they were “historically the first lands of establishment of the movement” in Europe.

In addition to institutional entryism, the Brotherhood was also said to be focused on enforcing strict Muslim practices within Islamic communities in the West, such as fasting during Ramadan and the veiling of women and girls. Last year, the Austrian government banned veils in schools for girls under the age of 14.

Austria, which has seen a major growth in its Muslim population in recent years, has unsurprisingly seen an increase in Islamism, with the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution revealing 306 acts of Islamic extremism being recorded last year, in addition to 129 house raids and 40 arrests.

Lindsay Clancy Jury Enters Fifth Day Deadlocked on Verdict

0

Deliberations in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial were expected to continue Wednesday, following a day in which jurors informed the judge they remained divided over whether the Massachusetts mother should be held criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children.

The panel, then in its fourth day of weighing the case, sent a note Tuesday morning to Judge William Sullivan saying it had not been able to reach the unanimous agreement required for either a guilty verdict or an acquittal. Sullivan instructed the jurors to continue deliberating, a standard step in criminal trials when a jury signals it is struggling to come to a decision.

Jurors returned to the deliberation room and continued their discussions behind closed doors for the remainder of the day. Around 3:30 p.m., they asked to be dismissed for the evening and to pick up their deliberations again the next morning.

Clancy, 36, a former labor and delivery nurse, has not disputed that she strangled her children. Her defense has argued that postpartum psychosis drove her actions, while prosecutors maintain she understood what she was doing at the time. She has pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility.

Throughout the trial, jurors heard from family members and medical professionals about Clancy’s deteriorating mental health in the months leading up to the killings, including her use of multiple medications and a brief stay at a psychiatric facility. Psychiatric experts for the prosecution and defense offered sharply conflicting opinions about her mental state when her children died.

If jurors ultimately can’t agree on a verdict, the judge could declare a mistrial. Prosecutors would then have to decide whether to put Clancy on trial again, drop the charges or try to negotiate a plea deal with her lawyer.

After court ended Tuesday, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, said he saw it as a good sign that the jury kept working.

“The fact that they have not said that they’re done is very, very heartening,” he said. “Obviously, they’re working very hard.”

If the jury decides Clancy was criminally responsible for her actions, it could convict her of either murder or manslaughter. If she is acquitted, a judge could still order her confined to a mental health facility if an evaluation determines that she poses a danger to the public.

Adam Hyde’s Ex-Girlfriend Sends Blunt Message to Abbie Chatfield

Abbie Chatfield’s boyfriend, Adam Hyde, has been publicly challenged by an ex-partner over a story he told about Leonardo DiCaprio allegedly making a move on her at a star-studded Los Angeles party.

The woman, who claims she lived with the 35-year-old Peking Duk musician in the United States for around five years, alleges Hyde “stole” the anecdote from her and has since been retelling it as though it were his own experience.

She has also issued a warning to Chatfield, claiming the Dancing2 hitmaker enjoys the “spectacle” that comes with dating someone as high-profile as the media personality.

Hyde, who also performs under the stage name Keli Holiday, made headlines several weeks ago after claiming DiCaprio once asked him for a cigarette before brazenly hitting on his then-girlfriend.

He shared the tale during an appearance on Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy, saying the encounter took place at NBA star Ben Simmons’ birthday party, where Drake was also among the guests.

‘This is my story. I think he’s a loser for stealing it,’ the ex, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells the Mail.

She went on to explain that the birthday party was a joint event hosted by the company she had just started working for.

‘It was my first week there. It was Ben Simmons’ birthday… Me and Adam, we would go to parties and we would separate,’ she explains.

‘I was there standing and I was smoking a cigarette. I remember getting tapped on the shoulder and I was scared because we weren’t allowed to smoke inside.’

She was worried she was about to get kicked out, but was surprised when she turned to see it was DiCaprio.

‘He asked me if he could have a cigarette as well. I was like, “Oh, my god, yeah, sure.” I was a little bit shell-shocked. I was like, “You enjoying yourself?”

‘He was like, “Yeah, it’s fun,” whatever. Then he puts his hood on and he goes back into the crowd. That was it.’

The ex says Hyde saw the interaction and approached her then asked what was said. She claims he assumed DiCaprio must have been hitting on her.

She also hosed down Hyde’s claim about meeting Drake at the party.

‘When he got together with Abbie – nothing against her, I think she’s great – but there is something about the spectacle she holds that I feel like is very appealing to Adam,’ his ex says

‘Drake came. Drake was there. But he was in the room. It was one of those things where he was just there. He [Hyde] didn’t talk to Drake at all,’ she claims.

Hyde first recalled his surreal encounter with DiCaprio while chatting with radio hosts Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little last month.

‘I remember at the party, there was this big, bald, shiny head – and it was Drake!’ he said during the interview.

‘He had his shaved head, I was like, “Oh, s***!” So, I said hi to Drake and then I got a tap on the shoulder and it was Leonardo DiCaprio and his mate asking for a smoke.’

He admitted that coming face-to-face with the Oscar winner left him stunned.

‘I was like, “Oh my God!” That’s as famous as it gets!’ he said.

Little, 41, was amused to discover that even one of Hollywood’s biggest stars occasionally needed to scrounge a cigarette.

‘I can’t believe Leo is bumming cigs,’ the comedian joked.

However, Hyde soon realised the request may have been less about smoking and more about the woman accompanying him.

‘I was like, “What’s going on with that?” But then I realised he was hitting on my girlfriend at the time,’ he said. ‘That was his move.’

Hyde did not name the ex or reveal when the star-studded party took place.

But his former partner now tells us: ‘I lived the life in LA and a lot of times it was Adam tagging along with my cool s***, not the other way around.

‘Adam is a classic exaggerator. Adam likes to be the main person in the story, even if it’s not his story. He loves to be the centre of attention.

‘When he got together with Abbie – nothing against her, I think she’s great – but there is something about the spectacle she holds that I feel like is very appealing to Adam.’

She believes Hyde ‘secretly loves’ the controversy and media attention he gets from being with someone as famous and divisive as Chatfield.

‘He’s secretly loving it and being able to speak about things like this,’ she says.

'I would just say, keep your own personality, girl. You're way cooler than him,' says the ex

‘I would just say, keep your own personality, girl. You’re way cooler than him,’ says the ex

‘I think internally he hates it [the controversy]… but I do feel like it’s an addicting thing when you’re getting attention… I think it’s a dopamine hit.

‘He loves the performance of it… I will never be able to love him enough the way that a crowd makes him feel, or the way an article written about him makes him feel. I could never love him that much.

‘I think him and Abbie are perfect together. That’s no shade. I genuinely think they are perfect for each other. I think it’s a great relationship.’

However, despite thinking that Chatfield, 31, and Hyde are a perfect match, the ex warned that every relationship has its downsides.

‘I don’t know what her personality is like. Maybe they have the exact same personality… When I met Adam, I had this spark about me. I had this shine,’ she says.

‘And I just made myself smaller… I shrunk myself down to be with him. I really had to work years trying to find my light again.’

‘[Abbie] seems like a confident, strong woman. I don’t think she has any issues [with that]. But I do feel like, look after yourself.

‘Don’t make things work just because you want to make it work. Adam has a great personality. I do have to say that. Everybody loves him.

‘There is something about him that is magnetic. I do have to give him that. You do feel like you need to fit into that. And he makes you feel that way, too.

‘I would just say, keep your own personality, girl. You’re way cooler than him. This is what he does… He wants to be a cool girl.’

Adam rose to fame as one half of electronic music duo Peking Duk alongside Reuben Styles.

He later launched his solo alter ego Keli Holiday in 2021 as an outlet for more personal music exploring romance and heartbreak.

He and Chatfield went public with their romance in 2024.

Storm Marie Forecast to Become Hurricane as Rare Track Puts California on Alert

0

A developing storm in the Pacific is drawing fresh attention as forecast models suggest it could track unusually close to the California coast — with some projections even raising the possibility of a direct impact.

Tropical Storm Marie is forecast to intensify into a Category 1 hurricane on Wednesday, bringing sustained winds of more than 75 mph.

The system is currently moving along Mexico’s coastline and is expected to approach the Baja California Peninsula, the narrow 775-mile stretch of land that sits just south of California and the US-Mexico border.

The National Hurricane Center has cautioned that Marie is likely to remain at hurricane strength through Sunday as it moves northward along the West Coast.

New spaghetti models, which show a range of possible storm tracks, indicate Marie has a significant chance of curving toward Southern California, potentially putting areas such as Los Angeles or San Diego in the path of landfall.

The National Weather Service has already warned beachgoers in Los Angeles that there is a high risk for large waves and dangerous rip currents throughout the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Coastal flooding is also predicted to be a concern along beaches and shorelines facing the south this weekend.

A Pacific cyclone has never made landfall in California at hurricane strength. The last tropical storm to make landfall was in September 1997 when Nora crossed from Mexico into the US.

Two major forecasting models, the so-called American and European models, both show multiple tracks which could take Marie towards a historic landfall in Southern California.

Meteorologist Levi Cowan aggregated dozens of these potential routes from the National Weather Service’s Global Forecast System and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts to build the latest spaghetti models.

Those models, seen on Cowan’s website Tropical Tidbits, largely agree that the Pacific Cyclone will continue rolling along the Baja Peninsula through the weekend, but its path after that becomes unclear.

Roughly half of the predictions show Marie turning east and spiraling into multiple California cities, including San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Santa Clara and Santa Barbara.

The other half of the current predictions favor Marie continuing to head straight and remaining in the Pacific until it fades.

It is important to note that forecast models can shift dramatically once storms form and get closer to making landfall. The farther into the future a forecast model tries to predict, the weaker the certainty of it being correct gets.

Meteorologist Sebastian Westerink from the National Weather Service expressed skepticism that Marie would maintain its strength all the way to California, predicting it would weaken in the colder waters closer to the West Coast.

Westerink told the Los Angeles Times: ‘By the time this storm reaches Southern California, it will very likely be below hurricane status and even tropical storm status.’

A tropical storm has not taken such a path, from the Pacific Ocean straight into the California Coast, in nearly a century, when the Long Beach Tropical Storm landed in 1939.

Meanwhile, hurricanes in California have never been regarded as a real threat due to the California Current bringing much colder water closer to the coast, depriving major storms of the warm ocean water they need for fuel.

At the same time, storms have been regularly blocked from reaching California by prevailing northeast trade winds, which steer eastern Pacific cyclones to the west – towards Hawaii or open water.

Despite their rarity, meteorologists have feared that 2026 could be a historic year for Pacific storms, thanks to the emergence of a potentially record-setting El Niño.

This is a breaking story. More details to follow.

Newborn baby stabbed 15 times at Sheffield home, court told

A newborn baby was stabbed 15 times before her body was concealed in an outhouse in Sheffield, a court has been told.

The infant, who can be identified only as Baby S, was found with fatal injuries at a property in the Wincobank area of the city at about 6am on Sunday.

Police officers and paramedics tried to save the baby at the address in Holywell Heights, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination later established that the newborn had suffered stab wounds.

The Crown Prosecution Service has now confirmed that two men, two women and a teenage girl have been charged in connection with the baby’s death.

The newborn was the daughter of Andrea Skopova, 20, who is charged with her murder.

Peter Horvath, 19, Peter Horvath, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, have also been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice by taking steps to conceal the killing of an infant.

A 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to her age, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

The defendants – who are all Slovakian nationals – were remanded in custody after appearing today at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard the baby suffered 33 injuries including 15 stab wounds.

She was then allegedly dumped in an outhouse while the bathroom where she had been killed was cleaned.

Police continue to guard a house in Wincobank, Sheffield

One neighbour said the house in Wincobank had been rented by a family who moved in around eight months ago.

She claimed there could sometimes be as many as 12 people inside the relatively small home, including children and adults.

The neighbour said she had never noticed a woman who appeared to be pregnant living at the address.

‘There are loads of them in the house, they are always in and out,’ she said.

Another neighbour said knew the family that lived there only casually.

‘I only knew the family to say ”hello” to,’ they said.

‘I’m not aware of any of them working, and they would come and go all through the day and night, every day of the week.

‘It is dreadful what has happened, that a poor little girl has died. It has really traumatised my daughter.’

Police remained at the property yesterday as forensic officers examined the scene, with cordons put in place around the smart end-of-the-mews home.

A South Yorkshire Police dog handler was also seen searching surrounding gardens and bins with a sniffer dog.

Lauren Costello, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor at CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, said: ‘The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute four individuals with murder following a police investigation into the death of a newborn baby girl in the Wincobank area. A fifth person has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

‘Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.

‘We have worked carefully with South Yorkshire Police as they carried out their investigation.’

‘We remind all concerned that proceedings against the defendants are active and they have the right to a fair trial.

‘It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in anyway prejudice these proceedings.’

Detective Chief Inspector Tom Woodward said: ‘We recognise this is deeply distressing for those who would have loved to have a chance to love this baby girl, for the emergency services who responded and for the community who will inevitably be shocked by this incident.

‘Everyone involved in responding to this tragedy – from the first officers and paramedics on the scene to the detectives now leading the investigation – has felt the profound impact of this investigation.

‘Our commitment to this little girl is unwavering. We will confront every difficult and distressing challenge and pursue every line of inquiry with determination and care to secure justice for her.

‘We know the local community will hold her in their thoughts and support us as we work through this complex investigation.’

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight previously urged residents not to speculate while officers continued their work.

She said: ‘We are aware news of this will be deeply concerning and I want to reassure our local communities that we have a dedicated team of detectives and officers hard at work to ensure justice is secured for the baby girl at the heart of this investigation.’

Report: Intact Iranian Bunker May Hide Ongoing Nuclear Work

0

A prominent think tank says it has identified what appears to be a partly submerged Iranian uranium facility inside the Natanz nuclear complex, one of Iran’s most closely watched nuclear sites.

The reported discovery of the covert facility is fueling fresh questions about whether Iran’s nuclear weapons infrastructure was fully eliminated during the two U.S.-Israeli-launched wars against the regime in 2025 and 2026.

The Washington, D.C.-based Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) announced in late August that it had located an underground Iranian site likely connected to uranium enrichment, which could potentially be used in the production of atomic weapons.

In its report, the institute wrote that “The facility does not appear to have been targeted in the military actions of either 2025 or 2026. Since the June 2025 war no vehicle activity has been observed at the facility in available satellite imagery.”

According to the institute, “The Institute has identified a separately enclosed, partially below-ground, bunkered building at the Natanz Nuclear Complex that was likely intended to serve as uranium hexafluoride… storage facility to support large-scale uranium enrichment at the Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant. The bunkered structure was constructed between 2010 and 2017, with the bulk of construction occurring between 2015 and 2017.”

It further added that “The lesson for today is that any temporary enrichment ban must include a dismantlement and dissolution of remaining capabilities and must not allow for any type of preparatory activity for the end of a ban.”

Uranium is the crucial material to produce atomic weapons. Iran’s regime is vehemently opposed to the Trump administration’s demands that it stop enriching uranium and hand over its already enriched uranium.

According to another report by the Institute for Science and International Security in April,” From December 2024 to June 2025, a half-year period, Iran almost doubled its stock of 60% enriched uranium to 440 kilograms. This action dramatically increased suspicion that Iran was moving toward a decision to build nuclear weapons, significantly shortening timelines to be able to create a nuclear arsenal with up to ten nuclear weapons.”

The U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran’s vast nuclear weapons facility during Operation Midnight Hammer in June 2025 significantly set back Iran’s ability to produce atomic weapons and enrich uranium.

Jason Brodsky, policy director at United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), told News Media that “The report assesses the structure at the Natanz nuclear facility was not targeted during Operations Midnight Hammer and Epic Fury. This raises questions as to why the U.S. and Israel did not target the site. Given that Iran is not allowing IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] inspections of bombed facilities, in contravention of its NPT [Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons]obligations, this will require Washington and Jerusalem to rely on their own intelligence estimates as to this bunkered building.”

Brodsky added, “If it is still intact and can accommodate this kind of enrichment activity, the site should be destroyed in any future strikes. The allowance of such a facility under the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] demonstrates the flaws of the agreement — permitting Iran to retain an industrial scale enrichment program following the sunsets of various provisions — and underscores why zero enrichment in Iran has to continue to be the international demand.”

When asked about the facility and if the IAEA plans to inspect it, Fredrik Dahl, a spokesman for the IAEA, told News Media, that “The building you are referring to is well-known to the Agency as part of the Natanz site that the IAEA regularly inspected prior to mid-2025.”

Asked about the report, Anna Kelly, a White House spokeswoman, told News Media that “First, Iran’s nuclear facilities were totally obliterated during Operation Midnight Hammer. Now, Operation Economic Outcast is severing every remaining economic lifeline sustaining the Islamic Republic of Iran. President Trump has been clear that Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon, and America is entering the endgame with the single greatest financial offensive ever mounted against an adversary.”

Successive U.S. administrations have repeatedly designated the Islamic Republic of Iran since the 1980s as a leading state-sponsor of terrorism.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s announcement last week that the U.S. imposed the economic equivalent of the military campaign that defeated Nazi Germany on the Islamic Republic of Iran could set off a series of events leading to the dissolution of the nearly 47-year-old dictatorship in Tehran, according to experts.

Bessent’s declaration of economic warfare — formally designated Operation Economic Outcast — follows President Trump’s commitment to launch an “economic D-Day” against the clerical regime. The comprehensive U.S. economic pressure point campaign also aims to isolate the regime with respect to its efforts to rebuild its nuclear weapons facility.
