Liev Schreiber was caught on camera angrily confronting a red-carpet reporter at the New York premiere of his new Apple TV+ series, Nocturne.

The journalist, who was also working for Apple TV, appeared to have asked a question that did not sit well with the 59-year-old actor.

“Talk to people like you value what they do,” Schreiber said sharply. “It’s not a f***ing sound bite, especially when we’re doing this in house for our own people.”

He continued: “We’re trying to make the show compelling, so engage with the person like they’re an artist or they’re an actor.”

Apparently referring to the reporter’s question, he added: “Three words. Three words, like… three words isn’t gonna do anything for anybody, and the monkey that f***ing thought of that is shooting themselves in the foot.”

The reporter then looked toward the camera and joked, “I hope you’re rolling on this,” prompting a chuckle from Schreiber and easing some of the tension.

Speaking more calmly, Schreiber told her: “If you wanna give them something that they can use, talk to people like they’re humans, not like it’s social media.”

Despite the tense start, Schreiber and the Apple TV reporter reportedly went on to have a cordial discussion about Nocturne.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Schreiber and Apple TV seeking comment.

Schreiber arrived at the premiere with his wife, Taylor Neisen, 34. The couple share a three-year-old daughter, Hazel.

He is also father to Sasha, 21, and Kai, 17, whom he shares with his former partner Naomi Watts. The pair were together from 2005 until 2016.

Nocturne is adapted from Lazarus and The Sandman, two novels by Lars Kepler—the pen name used by married authors Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho.

Schreiber plays Jonah, a homicide detective who leaves the dangers of Philadelphia behind for what he hopes will be a peaceful life in the countryside of Western Pennsylvania.

Those plans unravel when his new town is targeted by serial killer Jurek Walter, portrayed by Adolescence co-creator Stephen Graham.

Zazie Beetz also stars as Saga, an FBI agent who views Jonah as a father figure and is assigned to investigate the Jurek Walter case.

The cast of Nocturne includes Rory Kulkin, a brother of Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and Succession breakout Kieran Culkin.

This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz is also featured, as is character actor Bill Camp, whose resume includes Lincoln, The Night Of, The Leftovers and Sound of Freedom.

Created by Rowan Jaffe – the son of English stage actress Jane Lapotaire and The Mission director Roland Jaffe – Nocturne will air its first two episodes October 30. 

Investigators are waiting for the results of mechanical and engineering tests before determining whether to file charges against a teenage driver accused of killing renowned Malibu chef Ryo Uchimiya while behind the wheel of a luxury SUV leased to Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams, a law enforcement source said.

Uchimiya, 51, a chef at Nobu Malibu, was sleeping in a parked car along Pacific Coast Highway on the morning of Oct. 4 when a 2026 Range Rover driven by a 16-year-old boy veered onto the shoulder and slammed into the stationary vehicle. The chef was killed instantly.

Authorities said the teenager, who has been identified by police but not publicly named because he is a minor, was speeding in the Range Rover leased to Gregson-Williams, one of Hollywood’s best-known film composers.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Scott Shean told the California Post that investigators are awaiting the results of engineering and mechanical examinations before deciding whether to pursue criminal charges. Authorities do not believe the teen was intoxicated when the crash occurred.

“We have to wait for a certain couple things to come back to me that I’ve been sent out as far as getting investigated,” Shean said. “Once I get that information back, then I can go forward with whether or not I’m able to press charges and file with the DA’s office.”

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Uchimiya was found dead in the backseat of his vehicle after the collision, which happened at about 7 a.m. near Carbon Canyon Road.

Sources familiar with the circumstances said the chef had arrived early for work and fallen asleep in his car while preparing for a catering assignment in Santa Monica.

Disturbing video appears to show Gregson-Williams’ SUV traveling at high speed along PCH before crossing the road’s fog line and striking Uchimiya’s car. The force of the impact pushed the chef’s vehicle into another car, leaving all three vehicles involved in the crash.

“This family is grieving just as the other family,” Gregson-Williams said during a brief call with the California Post. It is still unclear how the teenage driver is connected to the composer or why he was using the vehicle.

Gregson-Williams, 64, is among Hollywood’s most prolific film composers. The British-born musician moved to Los Angeles in the 1990s and has spent decades composing scores for major blockbuster films.

His credits include the “Shrek” franchise, “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” “The Martian,” “Man on Fire,” “Chicken Run” and “Gladiator II.”

Gregson-Williams also composed the score for the 2026 Jacob Elordi film “The Dog Stars.” More recently, he worked with Ben Affleck on “Animals,” a Netflix thriller directed by and starring Affleck.

Uchimiya had spent approximately 25 years working for the renowned Japanese restaurant Nobu when he died.

Authorities said the chef died at the scene from multiple blunt-force injuries. Friends remembered Uchimiya not only as a talented chef, but also as a devoted family man and friend.

Steven Zaw, a friend of Uchimiya’s, said the two families were close and that their children attended the same school.

“He’s an amazing human being, great skier. Taught his kids how to ski. We went on a lot of ski trips together,” Zaw said.

Shean said the investigation into the fatal Malibu crash remains ongoing.

Pope Leo XIV will not require additional lung cancer treatment after final tests showed that the disease was confined to the tumor, his doctors said Wednesday.

Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora shared the results slightly more than a week after surgeons removed a tumor from the pope’s right lung.

“The final histopathology and molecular testing reports on the tissue removed during the Holy Father’s surgery were issued today,” the doctors said in a statement.

“The results confirmed that the tumor was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized. A subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that no further treatment is necessary.”

The pope underwent the operation Oct. 13 at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. The surgery lasted about 90 minutes, while Leo spent roughly three hours in the operating room, according to the Holy See.

“The doctors said it was successful and there were no complications,” the Holy See press office said following the procedure.

Leo awoke normally and returned to his hospital room after a short observation period, Vatican News reported.

He left the hospital Saturday after blood tests and a chest X-ray determined that he was well enough to return to the Vatican. Thousands of supporters gathered outside, calling out “Papa!” as he departed.

Before his discharge, Leo visited the children’s oncology ward, where young patients had written to him during his stay.

“Pope Leo, our prayers are for you,” a girl named Eleonora wrote in a letter published by Vatican News.

“May God, the Most Holy Virgin, and the guardian angels always protect you,” she added.

According to the Vatican, Eleonora’s mother told the pope that her daughter had recovered.

“Faith moves mountains,” Eleonora wrote. “God has heard our prayers.”

A Utah parking garage has become an unlikely family destination after installing slides that allow visitors to leave the four-story structure without taking the stairs.

St. George City Hall completed nearly three years of construction on two towering slides extending from the top of its four-story municipal building earlier this September. Since opening, the unusual attraction has drawn families from across Utah to Washington County for a very different kind of city visit.

‘I can’t keep track. I’ve ridden it a lot of times! When I go down, there’s a little turn, and it kind of makes your body go a little round, and it’s really fun,’ Cobain told the outlet.

City Hall officials have monitored use of the slides since they opened. Their records show the attraction has averaged as many as 2,400 rides a day. Its busiest day came on September 19, when the slides were used 4,700 times.

‘We knew that they would be popular. Maybe we didn’t quite realize how popular they would be,’ David Cordero, director of communications and marketing for the City of St. George, told the outlet.

‘We’re seeing kids of all ages, from the smaller kids that you might see at a normal playground, to older kids, teenagers, young adults, fully-fledged adults that come and see it and want to take part in it.’

According to city officials, the slides are made from stainless steel and cost more than $575,000. The project was funded through the City Recreation Art and Parks, or RAP, tax.

The Washington County government website says the tax was created in 2014 to ‘help fund initiatives such as upgrading parks, improving community recreation facilities and supporting the arts.’

City officials told KUTV that the slides are only one part of the attraction. The area also features tunnels, trampolines and swinging benches, creating a small park space at the bottom of the garage.

The project has also sparked a debate among Utah residents. Some have raised safety concerns about the metal panels becoming dangerously hot, while others have questioned whether tax revenue should have been used to finance the slides.

Supporters, however, say the slides provide a space where residents can gather and help bring more activity to downtown St. George.

‘If it’s about having fun, you should have put a community rec center there to really draw the community to that area. Nobody comes down to the city offices to have “fun” and then go to Town Square. Those of us who grew up getting burned by hot metal slides in the 60’s and 70’s can testify to that,’ one social media user wrote.

Another social media user offered a different view: ‘Having had the privilege of serving as the Deputy Director of Recreation right here for 13 years, I watched our downtown transform firsthand… Whether you plan to slide down them or not, this project is a strategic investment in keeping our downtown alive, vibrant, and economically strong!’

St. George City Councilwoman Michelle Tanner has also addressed the criticism surrounding the City Hall slides.

‘I can completely understand the shock value of seeing slides coming off a parking garage. I can sympathize with the argument that this portion of RAP tax could have been used for another park, but I also see the benefit of helping City Hall fulfill its goal of being a true community gathering place,’ she wrote in a Facebook statement.

Tanner jokingly stated she will be sliding from the top of the parking garage to all her City Council meetings from now on.  

Director Cordero told KUTV that St. George City Hall has now become a go-to destination spot, with Utah residents often supporting restaurants and shops in the downtown area after visiting. 

‘It definitely was worth it in my mind, having a place in our downtown… that’s what we want to see. We want to see our downtown businesses thrive, and this certainly helps,’ Cordero told the outlet. 

Despite safety concerns, the City of St. George has not reported any slide-related injuries. Officials recommend riders go down the slide one person at a time, using their feet first and making sure the landing area is clear.  

The Daily Mail has reached out to Director David Cordero and Councilwoman Michelle Tanner for comment.

A Long Island nonprofit hosted and promoted a fundraiser for a Democratic state lawmaker’s campaign in what appears to be a violation of federal rules governing tax-exempt organizations, according to findings reviewed by The Post.

Long Island Youth Development Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, held an Oct. 3 event for Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay (D-Suffolk County). A social media post promoting the gathering urged followers to “do all we can to support her and care for our communities.”

“Join us as we hold a reception to celebrate the contributions Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay has had to the Long Island Youth Development organization and the Asian community on Long Island,” the post stated.

The nonprofit is led by Dr. Yanping Yu, who published the post as Kassay secured a substantial state grant for the organization.

The accompanying flyer featured Kassay’s campaign logo and said that “donations [were] appreciated but not required.” Ticket prices ranged from $50 to $500, and the flyer included a link to Kassay’s campaign donation page along with a campaign email address.

“Thanks to New York State’s public financing program, in-district donations can be matched up to 12 times!” the flyer said.

Kassay is participating in the state’s campaign-matching program, under which donations of less than $250 can generate a matching contribution of up to $250 from state funds.

The flyer invited attendees to a reception featuring Yu and Suffolk County lawmaker Jonathan Kornreich.

Federal law strictly bars 501(c)(3) nonprofits from engaging in political activity, including soliciting contributions for or on behalf of a political candidate. Violations can lead to fines or the loss of an organization’s tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code.

“It’s clearly participating in a campaign, which is prohibited activity for a 501(c)(3),” Patrick Sternal, counsel at Holtzman-Vogel, told The Post.

Yu has donated $2,500 to Kassay since September 2025, while Kassay has appeared at several events for Yu’s nonprofit, according to posts on Yu’s social media accounts.

Kassay has also honored Yu with official proclamations and recognitions, including a “Women of Distinction” award and a designation as a “Women’s History Month honoree.” Social media posts show the pair together in Albany earlier this year.

Kassay’s office and the nonprofit did not respond to requests for comment.

The Instagram post was deleted Tuesday after The Post contacted Kassay’s office seeking comment.

Kassay is seeking a second two-year term representing the Assembly’s Third District in Suffolk County. She faces Republican Will Sussman in the Nov. 3 election.

Sussman said he welcomed a “full investigation” by the state attorney general, whose office oversees nonprofits.

“Even in Albany, most people know that you don’t give out taxpayer money in exchange for donations to your campaign,” Sussman said.

“Rebecca Kassay either doesn’t know the law, or she doesn’t think it applies to her,” Sussman said. “I look forward to a full investigation by the attorney general.”

State lawmakers earn $142,000 annually.

A newly released autopsy report has shed additional light on the killing of a new mother who was found fatally stabbed inside her home in an affluent New Jersey community, deepening the mystery surrounding the case.

Investigators say Brooke Hanlon, 35, was killed at her home on Pottersville Road in Chester, New Jersey. She is survived by her 1-year-old daughter. Her husband, Conor Hanlon, has publicly denied any role in her death.

Morris County Medical Examiner Dr. Di Wang performed the autopsy on June 7, one day after Hanlon was discovered dead. The examination identified “sharp force injuries” as the cause of death.

The report, which is heavily redacted, states that representatives of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Chester Police Department were “present” during the examination.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has not announced any arrests or identified a person of interest as the investigation continues.

Jennifer Payne, who met Hanlon in graduate school and once shared a home with her, previously told News Media, “Honestly, it’s been confusing, heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating,” as investigators have provided few updates.

Payne also gave News Media exclusive photographs showing the two friends during their years in Boston and afterward.

According to a 911 call obtained by News Media, Hanlon’s husband was the first to find her unresponsive. During the distressed call, he told the operator there was “a laceration” on his wife’s body while being instructed to perform CPR.

Months after the killing, neighbors on Pottersville Road told News Media that Hanlon had been regularly returning to the Chester property and staying there overnight. He had previously been dividing his time between New Jersey and the Boston area, where his family lives.

Authorities have not said whether investigators found or recovered a weapon at the home.

Hanlon’s family previously told News Media, “We have full and unwavering confidence in the investigative efforts of law enforcement.”
