GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 23-year-old woman, identified as Cortaisa Tranea Johnson, faces arrest following accusations of stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife.
The incident unfolded around 11:30 a.m. on July 5, prompting an officer from the Gainesville Police Department to visit UF Health Shands Hospital. According to the victim’s statement, he was asleep at Johnson’s Oak Glades Apartments residence when she began an argument, expressing hatred, crying, and kicking him in the head. As he tried to leave, she allegedly armed herself with a kitchen knife, swinging it at him and ultimately causing a stab wound on his arm while he attempted to defend himself.
The officer noted that the victim sustained a small puncture wound on his bicep along with a minor cut on his forearm.
Later that day, the officer located Johnson at her home, where she reportedly confessed to the stabbing after being read her Miranda rights. Johnson stated it was not her intention to inflict harm. She alleged the victim had cornered her in the kitchen, and she acted in self-defense while trying to escape his physical assaults, which included punching, pushing, and slapping her both indoors and outdoors. Johnson directed the officer to the location of the “steak” knife.
The officer reported that Johnson did not have any visible injuries to support her account of the incident.
Johnson has been charged with domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She has no criminal history, and Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $10,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Whispers: Unveiling the Exclusive Invitation
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce recently tied the knot in a highly secretive ceremony, and now details about their exclusive wedding invitation have come to light.
Ashish Ferguson, the brother of Kelce’s former personal chef and childhood pal Kumar Ferguson, unveiled the invitation on social media on Monday, July 6. Although Ashish later removed the post, images of the invitation quickly spread across the internet.
TMZ and Daily Mail secured screenshots showing the invitation, which beautifully depicted a nature-themed landscape, prominently marked with Ashish’s name at the top.
The invitation cryptically stated: “You’re Invited / July 3rd, 2026 / Manhattan / Love Taylor & Travis,” revealing details of a one-time event with an “Early Evening / Black Tie” dress code.
The invitation also included a monogram of the couple’s initials with a heart wrapped around the letters. The same “TT” monogram was also featured on a handkerchief Maren Morris shared a picture of during her recap of the event. The image was also used on the rehearsal dinner gift boxes that guests received.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot on Friday, July 3, in front of their loved ones at Madison Square Garden. In addition to Morris, Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoon, Kelsea Ballerini, Paul Rudd and more stars were in attendance.
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. The couple opted to not have a traditional wedding party and had their brothers, Jason Kelce and Austin Swift, serve as best man and “man of honor,” respectively.
Travis and Taylor’s wedding day attire were looks created by Christian Dior Haute Couture and designed by creative director Jonathan Anderson. The pair also wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes.
“The whole night felt really intimate and personal despite being in an arena and how star-studded the guest list was,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly following the event. “There were about 1,000 guests there, but it felt intimate.”
Since the wedding took place, no official photos have been publicly shared. However, multiple attendees have shared details from the star-studded event. Ashley Smith, who is sister of Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs’ teammate Trey Smith, revealed that she was the one who caught the “Life of a Showgirl” singer’s bouquet.
“Celebrated an Enchanting Love S(T&T)ory,” she wrote via Instagram on Sunday, July 5. “And somehow … I ended up catching Tay Tay’s bouquet.”
Ashley’s post included a selfie of her on a fluffy white bed as she posed while holding what appears to be several Queen Anne’s Lace wildflowers tied via a white ribbon.
This Weekend: Get Your Hands on the Latest Shohei Ohtani Christmas Ornament
This holiday season, Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way sensation, Shohei Ohtani, can add some sporting charm to your Christmas tree.
Hallmark is introducing a special Keepsake Ornament featuring the four-time MVP, capturing Ohtani in a dynamic swing pose, proudly wearing a Dodgers uniform.
Fans eager to add a touch of baseball magic to their holiday decor can purchase the ornament starting this weekend at Hallmark Gold Crown stores across the nation, or conveniently online at Hallmark.com.

Available from July 11-19, the Ohtani ornament will debut alongside over 250 other delightful ornaments at Hallmark’s Keepsake Ornament Premiere.
Celebrating his 32nd birthday this weekend, Ohtani missed Saturday’s game against the San Diego Padres due to a biceps strain. The Dodgers’ powerhouse was withdrawn from Friday’s opener after experiencing tightness in his right biceps, affecting his ability both at bat and on the mound.
The right-hander tossed six innings of three-run ball, but was replaced by Miguel Rojas in the lineup in the seventh inning. Ohtani went 0-for-3 at the plate Friday with a groundout and two fly outs.
While the Dodgers missed Ohtani Saturday, LA secured a second consecutive win over San Diego. The back-to-back World Series champions won the weekend series against the Padres, extending their lead in the NL West to a whopping 14 games.

Ohtani is set to be the National League’s designated hitter in the 2026 All-Star Game in Philadelphia next Tuesday. A handful of other Dodgers will also feature in the starting lineup, including outfielder Andy Pages, third baseman Max Muncy and first baseman Freddie Freeman.
Ohtani won’t take the mound for the Midsummer Classic, but fans have the chance to watch Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitch for the NL team.
Kylian Mbappe Condemns Paraguay Senator for ‘Brazen Racism’ in Public Statement
Kylian Mbappe has publicly condemned a Paraguayan senator, accusing her of “brazen racism” and calling her remarks “despicable” after she launched a scathing social media attack against him. This comes in the wake of Paraguay’s World Cup elimination.
The Real Madrid forward became the hero for France by netting a critical second-half penalty, securing a narrow 1-0 win over Paraguay in a tense match held in Philadelphia on Saturday. However, the game, part of the tournament’s round of 16, became overshadowed by the questionable tactics employed by the underdog team.
Facing off against the tournament’s favorites, Paraguay appeared to use all means necessary to disrupt their opponents. The team engaged in repeated fouls, feigned injuries, and played provocatively to unsettle Les Bleus with aggressive behavior.
The controversy surrounding Paraguay’s exit from the World Cup has escalated as Celeste Amarilla, a senator from the country, unleashed a vitriolic barrage directed at the French captain.
Following Mbappe’s refusal to shake hands with Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill, Amarilla criticized him harshly. She accused him of being a “brute” and claimed he “hasn’t even learned to write,” while also hurling racist comments at the football star.
‘You should’ve shown him the finger, Orlando Gill; I do it in the senate and nothing happens!!!’
France captain Kylian Mbappe has accused a Paraguayan senator of ‘brazen racism’
Paraguay senator Celeste Amarilla launched an extraordinary social media attack on Mbappe
She also wrote in a separate post, that Mbappe was ‘pretending hard to be French, resentful, newly rich, arrogant, and ugly.
‘He was nervous and scared to death the whole match, like his entire team; they couldn’t even score a goal, they won by a fluke…
‘The only thing many of us demanded of the Albirroja is not to have slapped him open-handed after the match ended. And that’s despite not being a soccer fan.’
Mbappe furiously responded to her astonishing tirade with his own statement on Monday, which read: ‘Madame Celeste Amarilla, You are a despicable woman and unworthy of your position. You do not represent Paraguay, that country which has sweated passion and honor throughout the competition.
‘Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup, making way for an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country.
‘I will never allow people like her the freedom to spread their hatred and racism across the world.’
French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo also threw his support behind Mbappe and posted: ‘The racist remarks by Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla targeting Kylian Mbappe are criminal and reprehensible.
‘They must be prosecuted here as elsewhere. The FFF is filing a report with the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of judicial proceedings.
Mbappe labelled her ‘despicable’ in a furious statement as he responsed on social media
Paraguay’s dirty tactics overshadowed France’s 1-0 win in the round of 16 on Saturday
Mbappe and Co were able to keep their cool in the face of relentless provocation
‘I offer my full support to our captain, to the players, and more generally to all the victims of such odious remarks. The players of the French national team represent France; it is our country that is insulted.’
Paraguay’s dirty tactics included various incidents during the match, from scuffing up the penalty spot, elbowing Dayot Upamecano in the ribs, palming Jules Kounde‘s face, trying to get Michael Olise sent off with outrageous play-acting and somehow ending up without a single booking from Uzbekistani referee Ilgiz Tantashev.
After the tempestuous match, BBC pundit Joe Hart branded Paraguay’s players ‘an absolute disgrace’, while French newspaper L’Equipe slapped Tantashev with a brutal 1/10 rating for failing to seize control of the occasion.
In a tense flashpoint of the match, goalkeeper Gill was left furious after Mbappe refused to shake his hands while celebrating in front of the French fans.
Gill reacted furiously, throwing the ball at Mbappe’s back before he walked over to the centre circle, where another melee took place.
Speaking after the match, Gill fumed: ‘Kylian Mbappe has p***ed me off. I stretched my hand to congratulate him, but he ignored me.
‘This is football, if they’re not used to this, what can we do? Paraguay is like that, it’s a tough team.
‘From the first moment we set out to make ourselves felt on the field, that if the ball gets through, the man doesn’t.’
Speaking about the controversial encounter, Mbappe hailed his side and said they are prepared to win via any method at this World Cup.
‘We knew what kind of game we were going to have. We showed that we were not just a team that knows how to play offensive football,’ he said.
‘They thought we’d come wearing tuxedos, doing great plays, one-twos and whatnot. It’s their way of playing.’

Survivor Shawna Scott Speaks Out After Surviving Frances Zaayer’s Deadly Attack That Killed Husband
Months of rising tensions culminated in a shocking act of violence when Frances Zaayer entered the residence of her neighbor, Shawna Scott, and shot her point-blank in the face.
Following the attack on Shawna, Zaayer proceeded to the back of the house where she fatally shot Shawna’s husband, David Scott, a respected deputy jailer in Montgomery County, on the porch. This harrowing event is detailed in Netflix’s series, Worst Neighbor Ever.
Recalling the traumatic experience in the docuseries, Shawna described, “I remember this awful bang and I was down. I can recall being able to look out the sliding glass door and see Dave laying there and I can remember hollering for somebody to help him.”
Although the situation ended tragically with a murder conviction for Frances, she had once been a welcomed member of Shawna’s family circle, even staying briefly at their home while she prepared to move into her own property across the street.
So, how did this relationship unravel into a fatal confrontation? Here’s a comprehensive look at the events leading to the brutal murder of David Scott:
How Did Frances Zaayer and Shawna Scott Know Each Other?
For years, Shawna and her husband Dave had an enviable set up in the small town of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, where they lived in a home surrounded by properties owned by Shawna’s family.
It became a family compound of sorts.
“It was good,” Shawna remembered in the docuseries. “I mean we was all close and spent time together and you know, I had a pool in my yard, so we had a lot of cookouts and dinners.”
It was that sense of community that first drew Frances back to the area. Frances was considered an honorary part of the family after befriending Shawna’s older cousin as a teenager and even living with Shawna’s grandmother at one time.
“Frances became part of our family when she was 15, 16 years old,” Shawna’s aunt Wanda Collingsworth recalled in Worst Neighbor Ever. “Frances didn’t really have a good home situation. She told us her mom wasn’t good to her, but I wasn’t ever sure. She enjoyed being with my family.”
After going through a divorce, Frances was eager to return to the place where she had always been accepted, and—much like before—Shawna’s family was more than happy to welcome her back.
“We all loved her,” Wanda said. “She was funny. She was fun to be with. I don’t know what happened to her.”
Tensions Between Frances Zaayer and Shawna Scott Begin
Frances bought the property right across the street from Shawna and had plans to put her double wide trailer there. However, she first had to knock down the existing house, according to Worst Neighbor Ever.
While she waited for the work to be done, Shawna offered her a place to stay.
“I could get along with pretty much anybody and I thought I’m gonna help her,” Shawna remembered. “My main goal was to just be there and treat her like family and that’s what I intended on doing.”
It didn’t take long, however, for tensions to begin to brew as Shawna’s family said Frances often wanted things her way, even telling Shawna how to care for her own home.
The final straw came in January 2017 when Frances allegedly tried to reprimand Shawna’s grandson and Shawna asked her to move out.
Shawna Scott Arrested For Assault
The heated relationship only grew after Frances moved into her own property three months later. Frances allegedly built her driveway on a portion of Shawna’s father’s property. Then Frances claimed Shawna—who was on disability and unable to work—was working at a friend’s tanning bed studio, per the documentary.
Shawna said she was just there visiting, but didn’t appreciate Frances trying to cause legal trouble and the two women got into a physical fight.
“I did ask her why she was doing it, and she just laughed and she said, ‘Because I can,’” Shawna recalled in the documentary. “And then we got into a fight. It wasn’t just pulling hair, slapping, it was a fight.”
Dave came home from work and pulled Shawna off of Frances, but Shawna was arrested and charged with assault. While they waited for the case to play out in court, Frances was enraged that Shawna—who was prevented from contacting Frances due to a restraining order—was out of jail.
“Frances had this idea in her head that Dave working at the jail made it impossible for my mom to face charges,” Shawna’s daughter Haley Boyd said, “which is absolutely absurd.”
For the next year, Frances made frequent calls to 911, complaining about everything from a missing bird feeder to her neighbors setting off fireworks near her house, according to the documentary.
“It doesn’t matter what we did,” Shawna explained. “She would call the cops on us.”
According to Shawna, Frances also allegedly began to mow her lawn naked and was topless whenever her grandchildren were visiting. Frances also allegedly followed Shawna around town stalking her.
“I was called to Washington Avenue almost daily. I mean, it was over and over, just all the time,” former Montgomery County Deputy Duane Kidd recalled in the docuseries. “We have to respond to every call, and that’s that’s hard in this small community, because most of the time we only had two deputies on duty at one time.”
What Happened to Shawna Scott and David Scott?
Throughout it all, David often tried to be the peacemaker, encouraging Shawna not to engage and trying to ignore the behavior.
“Dave was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met,” his former boss Steven Alley told WKYT. “Everyone loved him.”
Concerned that Frances may not make a sympathetic witness on the state, Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Reinhardt explained in the docuseries that he decided to offer Shawna a plea deal rather than go to trial. As part of the deal, Shawna was expected to receive anger management and probation for a year.
Frances was furious.
“This was her entire life,” Reinhardt recalled, “prosecuting this case and getting Shawna Scott in jail.”
Before the plea could play out in court, however, Frances called 911 one final time.
“I can’t get this court here to understand how dangerous this idiot is,” she told the 911 dispatcher in a call replayed on Worst Neighbor Ever. “I can’t take any more of this.”
Then, armed with a gun, she walked into Shawna’s front door, shot her in the face, then went to the back door, where David was outside hanging security cameras and shot him too, according to the docuseries and Lex 18. While Shawna was rushed to the hospital, David didn’t survive his injuries.
Frances was taken into custody after a standoff with police.
Where is Frances Zaayer Now?
As part of a plea deal, Frances pled guilty to murder, second-degree assault and wanton endangerment in 2022, according to jail records. She was sentenced to 35 years in prison and won’t be eligible for parole until 2038.
The 59-year-old is currently serving out her sentence in the Kentucky Correctional Institution For Women.
Where is Shawna Scott Today?
Since the shooting, Shawna said she has undergone 16 facial surgeries to try to repair the injuries to her face.
She misses Dave every day.
“Dave liked everybody,” she told Worst Neighbor Ever. “He was a good person. He was as good friend and he just had a smile that could just light up a room and he didn’t deserve this.”
Top 5 Must-See TV Series for Fans of Nemesis
Netflix’s latest crime drama sensation, “Nemesis,” premiered its first season on May 14. The series centers on LAPD lieutenant Isaiah Stiles, portrayed by Matthew Law, who becomes thoroughly consumed by his relentless pursuit of notorious thief Coltrane Wilder, played by Y’lan Noel. Throughout the eight episodes of Season 1, this gripping duel of intellects unfolds at a tantalizingly deliberate pace, earning both critical acclaim and an impressive milestone of over 1 billion total minutes streamed to date.
With “Nemesis” being co-created by Courtney A. Kemp, co-creator of the “Power” universe on Starz, it’s no surprise that fans of the show might gravitate toward similar crime dramas such as “Power.” However, those craving more should specifically seek out crime thrillers that skillfully balance suspense and intrigue through a cat-and-mouse narrative featuring its primary hero and villain. Here are five shows that encapsulate this thrilling dynamic perfectly.
The Endgame
Though “The Endgame” only graced NBC’s lineup for one season in 2022 before its untimely cancellation, it left audiences hanging with a dramatic cliffhanger, joining the ranks of unresolved television tales. Despite its abrupt conclusion, this meticulously crafted crime drama remains spellbinding, delivering intense storytelling that captivates viewers, even without closure.
Similar to “Nemesis,” “The Endgame” features a charismatic villain who masterminds a series of elaborate heists, drawing the attention of a tenacious law enforcement officer. Monica Baccarin plays Elena Federova, bringing a flair reminiscent of a classic Bond villain, while Ryan Michelle Bathé portrays FBI agent Val Turner, who becomes engrossed in the challenging task of outmaneuvering Federova and deciphering her enigmatic schemes. Alas, viewers were left wanting more of this enticing saga.
The Day of the Jackal
“The Day of the Jackal,” originally a 1971 novel and later a 1973 film, has been reinvented as a television series on Peacock. The modernized adaptation transplants the narrative into today’s world, incorporating technological advancements while delving deeper into character development and embracing more political undertones than the original versions.
Eddie Redmayne plays Alexander Duggan, an assassin known to clients only as The Jackal. When he’s offered a job with a lot more risks and complications than he usually accepts, he reluctantly takes the contract as it promises to pay him enough money to retire from the murdering business. But a complication he didn’t plan for is that it would get him wrapped up in a complex game of cat and mouse with an MI6 agent (Lashana Lynch, the first female 007) — a game that ends up getting more personal than either of them bargained for.
Killing Eve
Speaking of cat and mouse games that got way too personal, “Killing Eve” has entered the chat. While it starts off like most other crime thrillers do — an investigator’s investigation quickly takes over their entire life — it isn’t long before it’s made clear that the cat and mouse game in “Killing Eve” is going to go a whole other level. A sexy level, in fact.
Eve’s (Sandra Oh) career as an MI5 agent doesn’t pan out, but she’s soon secretly scooped up by MI6 when her proclivity for female agents makes her the perfect person to investigate a dangerous assassin known as Villanelle (Jodie Comer). As Eve tracks her, the two eventually meet in person — and it’s immediately obvious that they aren’t going to be able to avoid mixing business with pleasure, as it were. Even if you have already binged the show, there are things you only in “Killing Eve” on a rewatch, so it’s as good a time as any to run through it again.
Homeland
Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) sometimes struggles to keep her bipolar disorder from interfering with her job as a CIA officer. More to the point, it causes a lot of her colleagues and superiors to not always trust her judgment — which becomes a huge issue when Carrie becomes convinced that a former Marine was turned into a sleeper agent while he was captured by al-Qaeda.
So is Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) really a secret terrorist who poses a massive threat to the security of the United States, or is it just Carrie’s paranoia run amok? We won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t watched “Homeland,” Showtime’s eight-time Primetime Emmy winning series that will leave you utterly captivated from beginning to end. Even being stretched out to eight seasons, “Homeland” never experiences any major dips in quality — when ranking every “Homeland” season worst to best, the lowest ranked season is merely good instead of great.
Narcos
We end this list with a cat and mouse crime drama that depicts a real life cat and mouse game between an actual drug lord and DEA agent. Okay, so Netflix’s “Narcos” is obviously a highly dramatized depiction of the war between Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and federal agent Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook). It follows Escobar between the late ’70s and early ’90s, chronicling his rise as a drug kingpin to his eventual death — sorry, but it’s not really a spoiler alert when it’s about a real person who died over 30 years ago.
But the ways “Narcos” stretches the truth is in service of a thrilling, action-packed crime epic that sees Escobar and Agent Murphy go round and round in one of the most exciting cat and mouse games the genre has ever seen. Not only are all three seasons of “Narcos” excellent, there was also a great spin-off totally worth your time called “Narcos: Mexico” that digs into a little more of what went on within Escobar’s empire in the ’80s.
Ford’s $1.95 Cookie Conundrum: Wrongfully Accused Employee Rejects Return Offer

In an unexpected turn of events, Ford has extended an invitation to a long-time electrician, previously misaccused of stealing a $1.95 cookie, to resume his job. However, the employee has declined the offer, citing the absence of a formal apology following the incident.
The unusual incident unfolded at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant located in Louisville, Kentucky. During the early morning hours of May 9, Kurt Kromm attempted to purchase two Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies at an Aramark self-checkout kiosk, costing $1.95.
Kurt Kromm, who has dedicated 11 years to maintaining robots and automated equipment at the Louisville-based plant, revealed to The Post his experience at the kiosk. He initially swiped his debit card, but was met with a red notification, signaling a failed transaction.
Kromm, a 60-year-old diabetic who faced a blood sugar drop to 60 during his late-night shift, swiped his card again. This time, the machine neither confirmed with a green checkmark nor did it reject the payment, leaving him uncertain about the transaction’s status.
Assuming the purchase was successful, Kromm proceeded to return to his duties on the plant floor.
“I figured, well, it probably went through,” Kromm said. “And I might have went over to the other kiosk and paid. This was so inconsequential to me — $1.95. I figured I paid.”
A week later, on May 16, two supervisors summoned him to the labor office, where he was shown surveillance video and fired for allegedly stealing the cookie.
“The bargainer says, ‘This is bad,’” Kromm recalled.
“I said, ‘For what?’ They said, ‘They want to terminate you for taking a cookie.’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’”
Kromm told The Post that company officials showed him surveillance footage from an Aramark self-checkout kiosk that appeared to show a failed transaction after he swiped his debit card.
Ford immediately escorted him from the plant, refusing to let him retrieve his belongings, he said.
“They just terminated me, walked me out of the building,” Kromm recounted. “I had to get the union steward to even go get my personal laptop because they wouldn’t let me go get anything — ‘you are terminated, get out.’”
After being let go, Kromm went to work gathering evidence that he had indeed paid the $1.95 fare for the cookie.
Days later, he asked a former coworker to photograph the break-room kiosk showing the cookie’s actual price. He then checked his bank records again.
“The charge was there,” Kromm said. “It was on my credit card, the first charge of the day at 3:38 in the morning.”
He immediately emailed screenshots of the transaction to Ford labor executives and union officials.
According to Kromm, the company responded about 10 days later by demanding a notarized bank statement verifying the payment. Kromm supplied it, and weeks later, Ford informed him he would be reinstated with full back pay — roughly $33,000 — and invited him to return.
But by then, Kromm said, the damage had already been done. He refused.
“I emotionally couldn’t go back,” he said. “I worked with 8,500 people. I didn’t get to say goodbye to anybody. I’d been there 11 years.”
“There was no apology. There was no serious, ‘We’re sorry,’” Kromm told The Post. “There was just, ‘Oh, you’re not coming back?’ No, I am not interested in coming back.”
Instead, he said, the company lost an exemplary employee.
“I’m a pretty damn smart guy,” Kromm told The Post. “I fixed every piece of equipment you asked me to work on. And in the end, you did this to me.”
Despite receiving back pay and another chance to reclaim his old job, Kromm said his trust in the company is gone.
“I expected to work for Ford until I retired,” he said. “I loved working for Ford. I never thought it would end this way. It was a home away from home. This was tremendously difficult for me, but I couldn’t go back. I just couldn’t do it.”
The bizarre case was first reported by journalist Phoebe Wall Howard’s Substack newsletter Shifting Gears.
Ford, while declining to discuss Kromm’s individual case, previously acknowledged to Shifting Gears that “there are times when we look into things and realize it could have been handled differently. When that happens, we try to rectify it.”
Kromm also faulted both Ford and his union for failing to give him an opportunity to clear up what ultimately proved to be a simple payment error.
“Most companies would just ask you to pay for the cookie,” he said.
“I can’t come back to a company that just fired me like this and not give me any chance to show I paid,” Kromm told The Post. “It was just ridiculous. I can’t.”
A Ford spokesperson told The Post that the company’s “focus is on delivering top-quality vehicles.”
“We’re focused — especially as it relates to our manufacturing plants — on competing with the world’s best in quality,” the spokesperson said.
The Post has sought comment from United Auto Workers.
Kromm said he believes Aramark, which operates the self-checkout kiosks inside the plant, bears responsibility because it allegedly forwarded surveillance footage to Ford without confirming whether payment had ultimately been processed.
“They lied about me,” he said of Aramark, whom he accuses of being the first to raise the theft allegation.
“All they had to do was look for a transaction at that time, and they would’ve saw I bought a cookie.”
Aramark is the $15 billion Philadelphia-based food services giant that manages cafeterias and dining halls at businesses, sports stadiums, hospitals and colleges worldwide.
“We fully cooperate with investigations of this nature,” an Aramark spokesperson told The Post.
“At the same time, we remain focused on providing convenient, flexible snack options that support our hardworking customers every day.”
