Taylor Swift’s Wedding Drama Unfolds as Kelce’s Brother Squad Reportedly ‘Seethes

0

Sporting berets, sunglasses, gold chains, shorts, and Spider-Man Air Jordans, Travis Kelce’s entourage made a stylish entrance into New York City for what has been touted as the wedding of the year.

Sweeping in with their unique mix of NFL flair, these men, close to Kelce, attended Thursday night’s events with their own brand of charisma and confidence.

Beneath the surface of this fashionable display, however, a more nuanced narrative was playing out among the ranks of Kelce’s guests.

It appears that everyone on Team Travis received an invitation to his nuptials with Taylor Swift, but the invitations were not all identical.

Close confidants of Kelce, including his longtime friends from Cleveland, the branding twins, and fellow tight ends, found themselves ushered into the exclusive rehearsal dinner on Thursday. Meanwhile, a larger contingent from his wider NFL circle was directed to join the 1,000-guest celebration scheduled for Friday.

The sensitive, semi-snubbed bros left on the sidelines are believed to be quietly seething at being frozen out of the more star-studded dinner the night before, sources say.

For more than a decade, we’ve watched the hairline cracks in Swift’s famously tight Girl Squad become painful fractures.

This time, the friendship politics threatening to upstage the big day are playing out not among the bridesmaids, but the boys. Turns out 250lb tough guys who get hit for a living have feelings too.

‘There is a general invite to everyone on the team,’ a source told the Daily Mail. ‘But it doesn’t extend to some of the front office people, so there’s some feelings there. And also, not everyone on the team has the same invite.

‘A few who he’s closer to have more info and it sounds like there’s something smaller that they get to go to.’

The groom’s inner circle were among the first to appear outside an upscale NYC hotel – made up of the tight-knit Cleveland crew who knew Kelce long before his three Super Bowl rings and pop star girlfriend.

Aric Jones, Kelce’s oldest friend, suited up for the occasion. The two go all the way back to a Cleveland Heights hockey rink in 1995, when both were five.

Alongside him were Aaron and André Eanes, the twins who built the Kelce brand, cutting sharp figures in suits. The Cleveland-born founders of A&A Management have been the architects of his rise since 2013, turning him into one of America’s most marketable athletes long before Taylor Swift entered the picture.

Former NFL tight end Ross Travis, Kelce’s other right-hand man, had a look all his own: black beret, gold chain, dripping in confidence. Sarah Blackburn King dressed to impress alongside him, stunning in a gold dress with a matching bag.

George Kittle, the San Francisco 49ers tight end and one of Kelce’s closest friends in the NFL, made quite an entrance with wife Claire.

She stunned in a black dress with a slicked-back pony, while her husband wore a light suit with shorts, sunglasses and Spider-Man-inspired Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers.

Travis and Taylor were spending time with George and Claire Kittle in Nashville just last week

Kittle had already confirmed he was coming but admitted earlier this week he’d been given almost no details. ‘I genuinely don’t know where I’m going,’ he said.

The NFL couple only made it to New York on Thursday morning after being delayed by airport issues in Nashville on Wednesday night. They also spent time with Travis and Taylor last week at his ‘Tight End University’ NFL networking event.

Completing the groom’s contingent was Erin Andrews, the Fox Sports reporter who helped make the whole love story happen – stunning in a dress as she arrived on the arm of her husband, Jarret Stoll, the former NHL star and two-time Stanley Cup champion.

It was Andrews who, months before Swift and Kelce went public, urged the pop star on her podcast to give the tight end a chance. ‘Taylor, please try our friend Travis,’ she said. ‘He is fantastic.’ The two couples have since vacationed together in Montana.

And then there’s the outer ring. Several of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates and football friends – invited to Friday’s main event but pointedly left off the smaller dinner the night before – are said to be privately unhappy at being assigned to what insiders called the outer edge of the celebration: welcome at the party, but not at the table.

The contrast in wedding arrangements extends to the guest accommodations.

While some of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates are reportedly staying at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, his closest friends appear to be enjoying the VIP treatment at the considerably swankier hotel they were spotted leaving.

Among those spotted on Swift’s side of the wedding was close collaborator Jack Antonoff. The star producer and Bleachers frontman has been one of Swift’s best friends in the music business.

When he married actress Margaret Qualley in New Jersey in 2023, Swift flew in and delivered a 15-minute roast of the newlyweds.

Also in town were Shane and Paige Buechele. The former Chiefs quarterback and his wife – part of the extended Kelce-Swift inner circle since Taylor’s first season on the sidelines – were spotted earlier this week dining at Meduza Mediterrania, the restaurant Kelce co-owns with Patrick Mahomes.

Among the wider NFL and broadcasting set to arrive was Andrew Whitworth, the former offensive tackle turned Amazon Prime pundit, who won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 and has been a fixture in the league’s inner circle ever since. His Prime colleague Ryan Fitzpatrick, another former quarterback, was there too.

For now, everyone’s smiling. But with plenty of celebrations still to come – and lots of bruised egos under one roof – this party is only just getting started.

Shannon Beador Discusses Her Evolving Bond with Tamra and First Impressions of RHOC’s Fresh Face Carmella Garcia

RHOC's Shannon Beador Shares Update on Friendship With Tamra Judge, If Tres Amigas Are Back Together, and Thoughts on Newbie Carmella Garcia, Plus Teases Season 20 Tagline

Shannon Beador recently shared some insights into her relationship with Tamra Judge while attending the premiere of the Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 earlier this week.

At the event, Shannon not only discussed their evolving relationship but also addressed whether the famed Tres Amigas have reconciled. She shared her thoughts on new cast member Carmella Garcia, 44, and expressed her excitement about the much-anticipated return of Vicki Gunvalson, 64. Shannon even suggested a possible tagline for the season.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Shannon, who is 62, emphasized how her interactions with Tamra, 58, have transformed. “It’s an evolution this season, but we’re at a point where it’s not a yelling and screaming match, which was a shocker to me,” she remarked. “There’s good pluses and minuses. It’s an evolution this season, for sure.”

That said, Shannon is still keeping Tamra at a healthy distance.

“The thing is, and sometimes I would get a little bit frustrated, is the push that I was getting to kind of rekindle this historic friendship that I had with Tamra. I can go to a certain point, but for me, I needed to create this boundary, and it’s kind of mocked sometimes and all that, but it is what it is,” she stated.

Then speaking to Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea, Shannon revealed that the Tres Amigas is not back together.

“No. I mean, we’re, we’re okay,” she clarified. “You’ll watch as the season evolves, and there’s definitely — I’m in a much better place than I was last year. But for me right now, I just need to keep it at that place and, you know, I’m not being mean. I just know what’s best for me.”

According to Shannon, Tamra’s past behavior was the deciding factor for their future.

“I had to sit and analyze the history, and there were certain patterns that continued to repeat. And at some point, if you keep going back, the same thing is gonna happen, and you can only blame yourself,” she reasoned. “So I took a hard look at certain things, and for my happiness, I’ve never been in a happier place, so I want to keep things the way they are.”

During a third interview with Zachary Reality at the event, Shannon said that she was looking forward to the silliness of season 20.

“I get to do a lot of silly things, and I get to laugh, and it’s been a lot of fun,” she shared.

As for the new housewife, Shannon confirmed she liked her from the start.

“I was kind of a not-liking-new-girls person myself. I really like her, and we have a lot of things in common. Enjoyed her from day one,” she gushed.

Looking back at the fight she and Tamra were involved in amid Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, which reportedly led to them being banned from the finale, Shannon said that although it wasn’t their biggest fight, “the ramifications were.”

“It was upsetting to me,” she admitted.

Then, after stating that Vicki’s return was “so much fun,” Shannon teased her season 20 tagline.

“One has to do with the water, and one has to do with sucking it in,” she revealed.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 premieres on Thursday, July 9, at 8/7c on Bravo.

Country Music Star Battling Breast Cancer

Jillian Cardarelli was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma in May 2026 at age 33. Cardarelli received the breast cancer diagnosis on May 21, 2026. She was working on new music with acclaimed songwriter Jeffrey Steele and prepping to board a plane to Toronto to begin her second season on the show Crossroad Springs.

Cardarelli recalled feeling a lump in her breast, and “something in [her] gut” told her to see a doctor. A malignant tumor was found “in an area of very dense tissue.”

“I’ve had areas in my breasts that have been diagnosed with dense fibrous tissue since I was 25 years old that I’ve been getting looked at by ultrasound a couple of times, but nothing was ever seen,” she explained. “But then, I felt something a little different to me. I knew my body. I was a little more tired.”

Breast Cancer Journey

On July 26, 2026, Cardarelli shared a major milestone in her breast cancer journey. “The first big step is behind me,” Cardarelli wrote in an Instagram post. “Now it’s time to heal while we wait for the next step in my treatment plan.”

In her update, Cardarelli concluded, “Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, checked in, and lifted me up. One day at a time.”

Cardarelli has talked about her mother’s long battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Although members of Cardarelli’s family have faced their own cancer journeys, she admitted that it didn’t make her diagnosis any easier.

“I feel fear and sadness,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Why did this happen?’ I do not fit the profile of somebody that should get cancer at 33 years old. So yes, there’s a little bit of anger there. But I’m not angry at God. I’m leaning on Him more than ever.”

Jillian Cardarelli Religion

Jillian Cardarelli is a Christian. Following her breast cancer diagnosis, Cardarelli said she was leaning on her religion even more. She said, “I’m not angry at God. I’m leaning on Him more than ever.”

Taylor Swift’s Wedding Humble Moment: Billionaire Michael Rubin’s Unexpected Ego Check

Michael Rubin appears to entertain the notion that attendees might struggle to select between his renowned party and the anticipated wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce over the July Fourth weekend. As the mind behind Fanatics, Rubin hosts the annual star-filled White Party on this holiday. Yet, this year, the bustling atmosphere of New York City has prompted a change in his plans to accommodate a grander event. Although he has previously welcomed a roster of celebrities, the wedding seems poised to overshadow his gathering.

Rubin rescheduled his extravaganza to take place on Wednesday, July 1—coincidentally on the eve of Swift and Kelce’s nuptials slated to unfold in the Big Apple. He maintains, however, that this decision was not influenced by a need to dodge their celebration. “We considered various dates. We were certainly conscious of the wedding date, but it wasn’t the reason for our change,” he clarified in an interview with People. “Nevertheless, we didn’t want to put our guests in a position where they had to choose. The White Party has always drawn a crowd, regardless of when it’s held, and it promises to be an exceptional event.”

Many netizens found the notion laughable. “Laugh out loud funny he thinks people would have had a hard time choosing between the two events. Rule of thumb. When you move your event that tells you what event people were choosing,” Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy posted to X. “Hard choice between the two events? Apparently not. Moving your event is a pretty strong market survey,” another X user pointed out. While there are many far-fetched rumors about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding we’re not falling for, Rubin’s claims may need a spot on that list.

Michael Rubin named his among New York’s biggest July events

While the timing of Rubin’s White Party in the Hamptons had to be adjusted, he is still eagerly anticipating the excitement of July 2026 in New York City. “I’ll share this—New York will become a hub of stellar activity from July 1 through July 19. The city hasn’t experienced anything like what’s to come,” he remarked to People. Despite the reality of yielding to the prominence of Swift and Kelce’s wedding, Rubin still positions his event high on the list of major happenings across the metropolis.

“There’s the White Party, considered the top event of its kind, followed by [Swift’s] marriage celebrations shortly after, and then Fanatics Fest. Not to mention, the World Cup’s climax right here in New York,” he noted. Interestingly, Rubin omitted mention of America 250, where Times Square will host its grandest Fourth of July celebration, complete with the iconic ball drop occurring eight times.

Rubin anticipates a large turnout for Fanatics Fest, which runs from July 16-19, aligning with the World Cup Finals. “What will set this year apart is its synchronization with the World Cup Final. The globe’s biggest stars will flock to Fanatics Fest… it is destined to be simply unforgettable,” he expressed. Yet, prior to all this, Madison Square Garden will welcome a star-studded wedding, although Rubin, along with others, may not receive an invitation to Swift’s lavish affair. As for Blake Lively’s attendance, it’s still an open question.

Iranian General Ahmad Vahidi Reappears After Months in Hiding as Nation Prepares for Ali Khamenei’s Funeral

0

The elusive leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has made a rare public appearance after months away from the spotlight. The general appeared during a significant mourning event alongside the coffin of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader who was assassinated.

General Ahmad Vahidi, a controversial figure under U.S. sanctions and suspected of international terrorist connections, was photographed on Thursday with his hands resting on Khamenei’s casket. This solemn image surfaced as Tehran braced for the beginning of a lengthy funeral observance for the deceased leader, illustrated by photos circulated by Iranian state-run media.

Vahidi’s appearance marked his break from obscurity as he attended a meeting about the funeral arrangements, followed by a smaller, intimate service. This comes ahead of Iran’s scheduled 40-day period of national mourning, set to commence on Saturday.

His absence from public view dates back to February 8, weeks before the tragic events of February 28, which claimed the lives of Khamenei and several other high-ranking IRGC officials, including Vahidi’s predecessor, Mohammad Pakpour, at the onset of Operation Epic Fury.

Notably, Vahidi remains a critical figure behind the scenes, shaping the Islamic Republic’s stringent strategy in response to the ongoing four-month-long conflict. Despite being listed as wanted by Interpol over accusations tied to the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, his influence persists in the corridors of power.

In May, he claimed Iran had emerged victorious following the “terrorist attack of the Zionist-American enemy” and said Washington had turned to a cease-fire “in humiliation,” according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

“Any renewed aggression by the enemy will be met with a devastating and hellish response on regional and trans-regional scales,” he threatened.

Vahidi, who succeeded Pakpour as head of the IRGC, is said to be part of a small clique influencing the severely injured Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.

“He is influential but [he is] part of a system,” Ali Vaez, the Iran project director at the International Crisis Group, told CNN.

“Decisions are made in a consensual manner and undoubtedly Vahidi has a very loud voice in the room.”

“You cannot agree on something without passing him,” Danny Citrinowicz, the ex-head of the Iran branch of Israel’s military intelligence, told CNN.

Vahidi, 67, joined the IRGC after the 1979 Revolution before becoming commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force in the late 1980s, building up Iran’s influence across the Middle East before handing the reins to terror mastermind Qasem Soleimani.

He and Soleimani have often been credited with laying the groundwork for Iran’s terror proxies to bloom abroad, including the Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon.

Vahidi was among nine top Hezbollah and Iranian officials accused of helping orchestrate the bombing of the Jewish community center – that killed 85 people and injured over 300.

It marked the deadliest antisemitic attack in the Western Hemisphere since World War 2.

Interpol issued a red notice against Vahidi, urging law enforcement entities around the world to find and arrest him, making the IRGC commander an internationally wanted terrorist.

Along with the infamous 1994 bombing, Argentine investigators have linked Vahidi to the 1992 bombing of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires.

US investigators also suspect Vahidi helped organize the 1996 Khobar Tower bombing in Saudi Arabia, which saw 19 service members killed.

Vahidi was also hit by sanctions in the US for his links to Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.

He faced a second wave of sanctions in 2022 after Iran’s brutal crackdown on protesters over the death of Mahsa Amini.

The European Union also hit Vahidi with sanctions in 2022 for the regime’s use of live ammunition in the protests, which left nearly 500 people dead, according to human rights groups.

“He is a wanted man,” Citrinowicz said. “He’s a guy to be reckoned with.”

US Death Rate Hits Historic Low According to Latest CDC Report

0

In a historic milestone, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Thursday that the U.S. death rate plummeted to an all-time low in 2025. According to their provisional data, this marks a significant achievement in public health.

The latest Vital Statistics Rapid Release report highlights that the death rate stood at 689.2 per 100,000 people. This represents a remarkable 4.6 percent decrease from 2024, establishing a new record for the lowest death rate the nation has ever seen.

In examining the underlying causes of mortality, heart disease and cancer continue to top the list as the primary culprits. These are followed by unintentional injuries, strokes, chronic lower respiratory disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes, which remain as significant health challenges.

Although the first seven leading causes of death remained unchanged from the previous year, the list did see a shift in the final three. In 2024, Nephritis, chronic liver disease, and suicide were prominent. However, the 2025 data shows influenza and pneumonia, along with kidney disease, rising in prominence, while chronic liver disease continues to be a major concern.

The report also sheds light on demographic disparities, revealing that death rates were notably higher among males, older adults, and Black individuals. This underscores ongoing public health challenges and highlights areas needing targeted intervention.

“The death rate decreased from 2024 to 2025 for all demographic groups except American Indian and Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and Asian people. Although the death rate decreased for people age 85 and older during this period, rates for this group remained higher than those for all other age groups,” the report stated.

“Death rates also decreased for several race and ethnicity groups; however, rates for Black people remain higher than those for all other groups.”

The data used for this report was derived from the National Vital Statistics System and accounted for 99 percent of deaths that occurred in 2025.

The report identified four limitations to the findings: The data is provisional, the timeliness of death certificate submissions varies by jurisdiction, race categories may have been misclassified and the methodology of population estimates varied between 2024 and 2025.

“Despite these limitations, this report provides an overview of provisional mortality in the United States during 2025,” reads the report. “Provisional death estimates can give researchers and policymakers an early signal about shifts in mortality trends and provide actionable information sooner than final mortality data. These data can inform public health policies and interventions aimed at reducing mortality.”

Scores and Highlights from July 3 in the FIFA World Cup 2026

0

With a composed 2-0 victory over Algeria on Friday AEST, Switzerland secured their place in the World Cup’s last 16.

The Swiss national team is set to face the winner of the upcoming matchup between Colombia and Ghana on Saturday.

The dynamic 20-year-old Johan Manzambi was pivotal in the action in Vancouver, setting up the first goal by darting down the left wing and delivering a precise cross for Breel Embolo, who effortlessly scored.

This marked Manzambi’s second assist of the tournament. Impressively, he has also netted three goals across four World Cup games, even though he only started twice.

Dan Ndoye added the second goal, threading his shot through a crowd of defenders. Algeria’s goalkeeper, Luca Zidane, struggled to provide a sufficient save, rounding off a frustrating evening for the North African side.

Switzerland, who were eliminated in the round of 16 in 2006, 2014, 2018 and 2022, will hope this time to break that cycle of disappointment. The three-times World Cup quarter-finalists have not reached the last eight since 1954.

Algeria join Cote d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal as African teams to be knocked out so far at the last-32 stage. Only Morocco have progressed.

Ronaldo helps Portugal prevail against Croatia

Substitute Gonçalo Ramos’s headed goal edged Portugal into the Round of 16 at the World Cup on Friday after a gripping contest with Croatia.

The match had been something of a dead heat across the first half until Ivan Perišić stunned the Portuguese by slotting the ball under the advancing Portugal keeper Diogo Costa in the 53rd minute.

Within minutes, Ronaldo had the ball in the net after controlling a long pass, but his effort was disallowed for offside.

But Portugal got level when Renato Veiga was grabbed by Croatia’s Nikola Vlašić in the penalty area and after a VAR check, the referee pointed to the spot.

Ronaldo stepped up to convert the penalty with ease, hitting the ball straight down the middle of the goal and pumping his fists with joy afterwards.

In a pulsating game, Manchester City forward Mateo Kovačić’s low shot was pushed onto a post by ‘keeper Costa’s fingertips.

Ronaldo was withdrawn in the 81st minute to allow Rúben Neves to come on.

Then, Ramos connected with a superb pass from Rafael Leão in the fourth minute of stoppage time. The goal would snuff out a Croatia team which had created the lion’s share of the chances in sapping evening heat in Toronto, but the match wasn’t over yet.

Still Croatia pushed, and Peta Sučić had the ball in the net, but the assistant referee’s flag was up for a clear offside.

Croatia continued to create more chances than their opponents and Mario Pašalić came so close to winning the game with a header at the far post, but it bounced just wide.

In a dramatic ending, Croatia thought they had equalised in the dying seconds with the clock ticking well past the 10 added minutes of extra time, but Joško Gvardiol’s goal was chalked off for offside.

The Croatians were left stunned by the decision, while Portugal’s players celebrated.

It was a game that even contained a record. Ronaldo’s penalty was his first ever goal in the knockout phase of the World Cup. His remarkable international career will have another chapter when Portugal face Spain in Dallas on Tuesday.

Spain rain pain on Austria

Spain coasted past Austria and into the World Cup Round of 16 on Friday, thoroughly outclassing their opponents in a 3-0 knockout win with a brace from Mikel Oyarzabal and a Pedro Porro header.

The European champions controlled possession and sliced through the Austrian defence in a typically dominant performance in Los Angeles, as Hollywood stars Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem and singer Rosalía cheered on.

The win — which could have been by a greater margin, with a disallowed goal and a free kick off the woodwork — sets up a tantalising Round of 16 clash with either Portugal or Croatia.

The Los Angeles Stadium was a sea of red and excitement was sky-high over the first visit by a bona fide World Cup favourite to America’s second city.

Spain ratcheted up the pressure gradually through the first half, creating a string of chances after the first hydration break.

Marc Cucurella thought he had scored from a Lamine Yamal corner, but Pau Cubarsi was judged to have encroached on Austria’s goalkeeper.

Alexander Schlager then made a superb diving save, pushing Oyarzabal’s low shot around the post.

Austria’s defence finally buckled in the 36th minute. Pedri pinged a ball wide left to Cucurella, whose cross to Oyarzabal was calmly side-footed past the keeper.

Spain’s dominance grew further, with Yamal tormenting the Austrians, mainly from the right flank.

An Alex Baena free kick hit the crossbar, and Yamal’s close-range follow-up shot was well saved.

Austria spurned a rare chance at the other end. Romano Schmid played in a late-arriving and unmarked Stefan Posch, but a terrible first touch meant he lost the ball before even attempting a shot.

After the break, Spain continued knocking on the door without quite putting the game to rest.

Austria sent on two giant strikers — Saša Kalajdžić and Marko Arnautović — and immediately went long, with Kalajdžić putting a header over the bar.

But in the 66th minute, Spain struck again. Baena lifted a cross onto the head of Pedro Porro, who nodded in his first goal for Spain.

Some dogged defending kept the scoreline respectable, including a goalline clearance by David Alaba from Yamal, who was substituted off to rest moments later.

Spain sprayed passes around the pitch as the final minutes ticked down, eliciting “Oles” from the crowd, as attention turned to a sterner test on Tuesday in Dallas.

In the 89th minute, a pinpoint Cucurella cross found a completely unmarked Oyarzabal in the penalty area, who slotted the ball home.

Unveiled: The Secret Location Where Captain Kidd Buried His Treasure

0

Where did the infamous pirate Captain Kidd hide his considerable treasure?

Could it have been stashed away in the Caribbean, on the coast of Africa, or perhaps on a secluded island far from civilization?

In truth, Kidd selected an island setting, specifically nestled within the exclusive Hamptons on Long Island, New York. This region is renowned as a luxurious summer retreat for affluent Wall Street figures and A-list Hollywood personalities. Little do they know, buried beneath this opulent area are supposed riches of gold, silver, and invaluable gems, hidden away back in 1699.

If Captain Kidd and his wife Sarah were somehow alive today, they might be mingling with the elite, relishing gin and tonics, and partaking in rounds of golf. Indeed, Kidd was a married man, and they had two daughters together.

“They were New York’s power couple,” Daphne Palmer Geanacopoulos said. “He was a very, very stellar member of New York society. He owned a great deal of real estate. They had dinner parties. They had silver. They had china and fine linens.”

Captain Kidd’s surprising story is told in the new series, “Crazy American History with Eric Shawn,” now streaming on Fox Nation.

A pirate who was married with two kids and a big mansion. That’s crazy!

“It’s easy to believe the lore of pirates because people find it kind of sexy. You know, these are really hyper-masculine men who are out there, swinging swords and cutting people to pieces and coming around with bags of gold. And that’s kind of like, you know, dashing and dark and it’s all of that,” said Geanacopoulos, who wrote the biography, “A Pirate’s Wife: The Remarkable True Story of Sarah Kidd.” “He was a normal guy.”

And that treasure? 40 pounds of gold, silver, silk and precious rubies and stones?

“He hides the treasure on Gardiner’s Island,” said Samuel Marquis, author of “Captain Kidd: A True Story of Treasure and Betrayal.” He also is Kidd’s great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson. (That’s the ninth great-grandson.) Gardiner’s Island is a privately owned property on New York’s Long Island still in the hands of the same family as when Kidd buried his booty there. Marquis says Kidd also stashed valuables elsewhere, including Connecticut and Rhode Island. New Jersey is also a suspected spot.

We will show you the pirate’s secret spot where he buried his booty and go along with a man who still thinks more may be out there on the East Coast.

The American who you certainly do not know — the posh pirate — a crazy and curious story we tell in the third episode of “Crazy American History with Eric Shawn” now streaming on Fox Nation.

Tesla Driver Faces Manslaughter Charges in Tragic Death of Cherished Grandmother

In a tragic incident in Texas, a man delivering for DoorDash has been charged with manslaughter. This follows a harrowing event where he allegedly accelerated his Tesla shortly before crashing it into a home, leading to the death of a 76-year-old woman.

The driver, 44-year-old Michael David Butler, faces charges connected to the crash that occurred on June 19 in Katy. During the accident, his Model 3 Tesla veered off the road, hurdled a curb, and collided with the front of a family home in the suburbs.

The unfortunate collision struck the Barbour family residence, where two parents, three young children, and their cherished grandmother, Martha Avila, were inside at the time of the crash. Thus, Avila tragically lost her life.

The shock from the incident profoundly affected the family, who expressed their sorrow to KHOU, stating, “She (Avila) didn’t deserve to go this way.”

As detailed in the arrest affidavit, Butler emerged from the crash with no significant injuries. When law enforcement arrived on the scene shortly afterward, he was found alone inside the vehicle.

The criminal charge comes after investigators seized Tesla’s ‘black box’ and reviewed data from the vehicle and the dash camera footage, concluding that Butler overrode Tesla’s full Self-Driving system by pressing the accelerator to it’s maximum position, shortly before impact.

However, crucially, Butler had pressed the accelerator not just once on the drive but several times.

According to court documents, Butler initially told deputies he had been using the Tesla technology while making DoorDash deliveries and claimed to have been distracted while trying to change the music on the car’s touchscreen.

He claimed to have ‘passed out’ and conveniently had no memory of the moments before the crash.

But investigators say the Tesla’s own electronic data tells another story.

Authorities allege the car automatically slowed as it approached a residential intersection, before Butler suddenly pressed the accelerator all the way to the floor, overriding the automated driving system.

The vehicle then surged to about 73mph along a residential street before failing to negotiate a left turn.

Investigators say there was no evidence Butler attempted to brake before the Model 3 struck a curb, launched into the air and slammed into Avila’s home with devastating force.

Doorbell footage uploaded to X revealed the harrowing moment. The video also caught the loud screech the car emitted as it crashed into the home.

The 76-year-old grandmother was inside the property when the car crashed through the wall.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene where Life Flight airlifted Avila to hospital, and was later pronounced dead after life-saving measures were rendered unsuccessful.

Authorities said investigators found no indication that a mechanical fault, unintended acceleration or vehicle defect caused the collision.

Butler tested negative for alcohol and common recreational drugs, while medical examinations reportedly ruled out a heart attack, seizure or stroke that could explain his claim that he lost consciousness.

Authorities further allege that Butler’s cellphone contained condemning internet searches made before the crash expressing frustration that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software was not driving aggressively enough.

Tesla, who has faced mass scrutiny in the past over their self automated option has maintained that the company was not at fault.

Defensive executives took to social media to dispute Butler’s account, saying the car’s driver pressed the accelerator pedal down and adding the sadistic detail that Butler kept it pressed even after the crash.

Owner of Tesla, billionaire Elon Musk himself took to X to refute the matter, penning the words ‘This makes no sense.’

The automaker says that Full Self-Driving is designed to require continuous driver supervision and that drivers remain responsible for controlling the vehicle at all times.

However, the fatal crash has intensified scrutiny of Tesla’s driver-assistance technology as federal regulators from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration continue investigating incidents involving Autopilot and Full Self-Driving systems.

A year prior, NHTSA launched an investigation into roughly 2.9 million Tesla vehicles over ‘Full Self-Driving’ running red lights and driving the wrong way, and the agency upgraded that probe in March 2026 to an engineering analysis.

Meanwhile, Avila’s devastated family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against both Butler and Tesla, suing them for $1 million, alleging negligence and arguing the crash could have been prevented.

Butler remains in custody at the Harris County jail, according to court records.

Zohran Mamdani seeks to resolve ongoing tensions with rapper 50 Cent

Zohran Mamdani, the Mayor of New York City, openly expressed his desire on Wednesday to resolve his ongoing, albeit one-sided, dispute with rapper 50 Cent.

During an appearance on the “Complex” podcast, Mamdani faced an intriguing question from host Jillian Superstar. She posed, “If you were to host a dinner party — which I assume you’d invite me to after our chat — who would be your ultimate dream guest, whether alive or deceased?”

Without hesitation, Mamdani named former Mayor Fiorello La Guardia as his first pick, praising him as the greatest mayor New York City has ever witnessed.

He then mentioned, “I’d also invite 50 Cent to join us so we could discuss tax policy over dinner.”

The interviewer quickly agreed, noting, “That’s indeed a very much needed conversation.”

During an interview on “The Breakfast Club” last year, the mayor noted that while he was a fan of 50 Cent, the musician wasn’t a fan of his tax policy.

“I know if 50 Cent is listening, he’s not going to be happy about this. He tends to not like this tax policy, but I want to be very clear: This is about $20,000 a year. It’s a rounding error.

“And all of these things together, they make every New Yorker’s life better, including those who are actually getting taxed now,” Mamdani said during the June 2025 podcast.

The rapper responded shortly after by asking, “Where did he come from? Whose friend is this? I’m not feeling this plan. No. I will give him $258,750 and a first-class one-way ticket away from NY. I’m telling Trump what he said too!”

Mamdani noted during Wednesday’s interview that he was still a fan of 50 Cent, even if 50 Cent wasn’t a fan of his policies. Superstar showed this to be true, playing a clip of the mayor quoting the rapper’s song, “Get Rich or Die Tryin,’” during a recent commencement speech.

“So, it’s a one-sided beef?” the interviewer asked.

“It’s a one-sided beef,” Mamdani agreed.

“I think we’re always going to have a disagreement on that tax policy,” he added.

“I want to increase taxes on the wealthiest. He does not want that to happen. But I will still appreciate the song ‘Many Men,’ whatever our disagreements are.”

Representatives for 50 Cent did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
