A man long sought by the FBI, who was apprehended in Mexico last year for allegedly murdering his newlywed wife, has been extradited to Chicago, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The tragic incident occurred in 2012 when the victim was discovered fatally stabbed in a bathtub, still clad in her wedding dress, in the suburb of Burbank.

Authorities reported that Estrella Carrera, 26, was found dead on May 13, 2012, in the bathtub of her apartment located in the 7800 block of South Rutherford in Burbank.

Just days after the discovery, an arrest warrant was issued for Carrera’s husband, Arnoldo Jimenez, who had recently married her.

Jimenez, who had been placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, was captured in Monterrey, Mexico, in January 2025, according to a statement from the FBI’s Chicago office.

FBI Chicago confirms arrested Jimenez with help from authorities in Mexico. The FBI also credits Burbank police in the tracking and capture of Jimenez.

“Jimenez was wanted in connection with the murder of Estrella Carrera who was found deceased less than 48 hours after their wedding,” the FBI said in a news release Thursday. “No matter how much time has passed or where a criminal may be in the world, the FBI will never stop in our pursuit of justice.”

Officials shared an image of Jimenez, on Thursday, over a year after his arrest in Mexico, confirming he has now been captured and brough to Chicago.

No further information about the next steps for Jimenez was available.

Bunnie XO Speaks Out: The Truth Behind Her Unexpected Divorce from Jelly Roll

0

Bunnie XO, the wife of Jelly Roll, has publicly addressed their unexpected divorce, shedding light on the argument that ultimately marked the end of their decade-long relationship.

The blonde bombshell, 46, addressed the split news for the first time in the new episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, which was released Thursday.

In a recent podcast episode, Bunnie opened up just days after it became known that Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, filed for divorce in May from her, Alisa DeFord.

Throughout the discussion, Bunnie became emotional, reflecting on the underlying tensions in their marriage and explaining why their relationship dynamics were ultimately unsustainable.

She candidly shared, “Jelly Roll and I have never really been good at handling disagreements,” highlighting a significant aspect of their partnership.

Despite being known as a couple that rarely argued, Bunnie acknowledged that this characteristic, while seemingly positive, contributed to their marriage becoming a “recipe for disaster.”

‘So, he would be holding things in. I would be holding things in, and that’s a recipe for disaster.’

Things between the couple came to a head on Mother’s Day of this year, with Bunnie detailing her and Jelly Roll’s final explosive argument before he filed for divorce.

‘On Mother’s Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don’t think the details are necessary,’ Bunnie revealed.

‘And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, ‘Well, then file the f**king divorce papers.”

She claimed the heated argument ended with her packing up her belongings and leaving her husband of over 10 years.

‘In our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say, even though my husband has said it numerous times ’cause he’s the runner,’ Bunnie said of her ‘divorce papers’ taunt.

‘But, when I say it, it really holds weight because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.’

Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie last month in Tennessee, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

He cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ in the filing, which was lodged on May 18 and lists May 9 as the couple’s date of separation.

Sources told TMZ the split was a ‘mutual decision’ and remains a ‘private family matter.’

The singer is being represented by Rose Palermo, who has handled some of the most difficult and complex divorces in Nashville and was retained by Kristin Cavallari in her divorce from Jay Cutler.

The news broke on Monday night, sending shocked fans into a frenzy as they tried to pinpoint signs of trouble in past social media posts.

That same day, a moving truck was pictured in front of the couple’s $6.5 million home near Nashville and boxes were seen leaving, though it is unclear which of the two was moving out.

They bought the five-bedroom, seven-bath mansion in late 2023.

Bunnie first fueled speculation hours before Monday’s split news broke as she posted a lip-syncing video to the 2001 Nickelback breakup song How You Remind Me.

Then on Wednesday night, two days after the news broke, she followed up by mouthing the lyrics to Jelly Roll’s 2018 song No Limit (Freestyle).

She also hinted that she would be discussing the divorce news on her podcast as she captioned, ‘Podcast coming..’

The last time they were seen together in public was Bunnie’s book tour stop on February 24 where he made a surprise appearance and performed for the sold-out crowd.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie were married in 2016 and their relationship wasn’t always smooth sailing.

The three-time Grammy winner publicly admitted that he cheated on his wife in 2018. He called the affair ‘one of the worst moments’ of his adult life, attributing the infidelity to substance abuse and a toxic circle of friends at the time.

Bunnie recently opened up about the ups and downs of the couple’s marriage revealing it’s important to love someone even when they are ‘at their lowest’ because ‘everybody deserves a second chance.’

‘When you are with somebody for a long time, you are going to have to love them at their lowest. And I truly believe that true love is not about so much as accepting things that you shouldn’t, but I do think that everybody deserves a second chance,’ she told People earlier this year.

‘Loving somebody at their lowest is one of the most beautiful things you can do, especially if they bloom and they blossom like my husband has.’

Back in February, Jelly Roll made a moving speech at the 2026 Grammy Awards as he accepted the prize for Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, and crediting his wife with saving his life.

‘I would have never changed my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail. I’d have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus,’ he said.

Jelly Roll has also changed his life over the last few years by embarking on a weight loss journey and he recently confessed he has ‘lost [his] way’ but vowed to get back on track.

The father-of-two weighed over 500lbs in 2023 but had slimmed down to 265lbs on the day he shot a Men’s Health magazine cover last November.

He admitted he had been ‘avoiding the scale’ over the last few months after deciding to ‘enjoy the holidays’ and indulge in ‘big meals,’ as well as being less active due to an injury.

He was scared to have a new weigh in ahead of returning to his diet.

Speaking in a YouTube video, Jelly Roll said: ‘We hit the goal and it was right before the holidays, so I was like, ‘You know what man, I’ve been working hard for the last three years losing this weight, I’m going to enjoy the holidays.’

‘I had a big Thanksgiving meal, I had a big birthday meal, I ate a big Christmas meal. Kinda got off the rails and I broke my collarbone… a few days before Christmas.’

Jelly Roll and Bunnie have been very candid about how his former size and weight made intimacy extremely difficult, with Jelly Roll once describing their sex life as ‘horrible’ on The Joe Rogan Experience.

His transformation, however, made him feel like he had ‘the sex drive of a 17-year-old’ again, as he told Men’s Health.

News of the divorce comes on the heels of Bunnie’s admission that they’d found a potential surrogate in their quest to expand their family.

Jelly Roll is already dad to two children from previous relationships, daughter Bailey Ann, 18, and son Noah Buddy, nine.

‘Now that we’re finally stable financially and somewhat emotionally after all the healing we’ve done over this decade together, we’re talking about the future – including growing our family,’ Bunnie wrote in her memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, which was released on February 17.

‘J and I have a surrogate, the sweetest woman ever, and soon I’ll be starting my IVF stims,’ she said, adding that she waited a long time ‘to have kids with someone I knew would be a great father.’

Inside Bunnie Xo’s Explosive Revelation: The Fight That Triggered Jelly Roll Divorce Filing

Bunnie Xo has finally spoken out about her surprising split from Jelly Roll after a decade together.

“J and I were never great at handling conflicts. We were the kind of couple who avoided arguments altogether. As a result, both of us kept our feelings bottled up, which is a surefire way to court disaster,” Bunnie explained during Thursday’s episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast.

“We often preached the importance of being open to difficult conversations, and for the first eight years, we stuck to that. However, over the last year and a half, we drifted from this practice because our lives had shifted significantly.”

Reflecting on their last disagreement, which took place on Mother’s Day, Bunnie shared how she reached a breaking point and told Jelly Roll to “file the f–king divorce papers.”

“On Mother’s Day, we had a bit of a spat, and while the specifics aren’t important, I was so exhausted and frustrated that I just turned to him and said, ‘Well, then file the f–king divorce papers,’” she recounted.

“In our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say, even though my husband has said it numerous times,” she noted. “But, when I say it, it really holds weight because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.”

The conversation ended with Bunnie packing a bag and leaving the Grammy winner, she said.

The “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic” host added that their IVF journey had also taken a toll on their marriage.

“In the last two years when we decided to have a baby, I had to do IVF. My hat goes off to any woman, family, couple who is going through IVF because let me tell you something dude that is one of the loneliest, darkest journeys you will be on,” she said, noting that process “completely wrecked” her.

“Yes, everybody gets to see the reward at the end, but it is not all bells and whistles. It is not a beautiful journey,” Bunnie continued. “It wrecked me emotionally, spiritually, physically. It was so hard on me that for the past year and a half, I became a shell of the person I was because I’m doing this IVF journey. I’m fighting hard just to you know be able to produce enough eggs to make a baby with my husband, especially at my age.”

The process became more difficult as she revealed that Jelly Roll “had low sperm count” so “he had to get on a bunch of hormones and a whole bunch of medication which turned him into a freaking nightmare to be around.”

Bunnie continued, revealing that the couple has “lost four embryos” throughout their experience.

“We’ve had three transfers but we lost the the two twins that we were going to try to have and then we lost the other two. And anybody that’s going through that and has to deal with these miscarriages, it’s gut-wrenching. It is so heartbreaking,” she confessed.

On Monday, news broke that Jelly Roll, 41, quietly pulled the plug on his and Bunnie Xo’s marriage on May 18, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, Page Six confirmed.

The country singer filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, where he and the “Dumb Blonde” podcast host, 46, lived together.

The exes agreed to divide their assets and debts.

Movers were photographed outside of the estranged couple’s Tennessee home on Monday, though it’s unclear whose items were being packed up.

The “Wild Ones” crooner, born Jason Bradley DeFord, hinted at trouble in paradise when he opted out of wearing his wedding ring while performing at the 2026 CMA Fest in Nashville earlier this month.

Eagle-eyed fans on social media also noticed that he has ditched his ring since around February or March.

As for Bunnie, born Alisa DeFord, she compared exes to trash cans in a cheeky video of herself wearing a revenge outfit, captioning it, “Intuition when that s–t don’t add up.”

Additionally, the internet personality shared a photo of herself posing in lingerie shortly before news of their split broke.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2016, but they briefly split in 2018.

They later reconciled and renewed their vows in 2023.

The “Somebody Save Me” singer has previously admitted to having cheated on his estranged wife ahead of getting sober from hard drugs.

5 Bodyweight Exercises to Improve Posture Quickly for Those Over 50

0

Five bodyweight exercises to enhance posture and fortify your upper back after 50.

>

Developing poor posture is typically a gradual process. Years spent seated, driving, peering at screens, working on computers, and being less active subtly lead the shoulders to hunch forward, weaken the upper back, and diminish core strength. After reaching 50, these shifts become more pronounced due to the natural decline in muscle mass and increased joint stiffness. This often results in rounded shoulders, a protruding head posture, back pain, and a pervasive sense of stiffness during daily movements.

Many individuals turn to external solutions in search of a quick remedy, but genuine posture improvement stems from fortifying the muscles that maintain proper alignment. A strong upper back, stable shoulders, flexible hips, and an engaged core collectively ensure an upright posture throughout the day. Without these muscular adjustments, posture is likely to revert to its former state despite temporary fixes.

The following five bodyweight exercises target the essential muscles needed for improved posture and enhanced mobility. By focusing on building strength and body awareness, rather than relying on passive corrections, these movements foster a more upright stance. Incorporate them into your routine consistently, and you’ll soon observe a more robust and aligned posture in your everyday activities.

Wall Angels

Wall angels strengthen the upper back and shoulders while teaching the body what proper alignment feels like. Many adults over 50 struggle to keep their shoulders back because the muscles between the shoulder blades have weakened over time. This exercise forces those muscles to engage while improving shoulder mobility and upper-spine positioning. The wall provides immediate feedback, helping you recognize posture habits that may be contributing to rounded shoulders. Few exercises restore upper-body posture awareness as effectively as wall angels. Consistent practice often leads to noticeable improvements in shoulder position and chest openness.

How to Do It

  • Stand with your back against a wall
  • Press your head, upper back, and hips gently into the wall
  • Raise your arms into a goalpost position
  • Keep your elbows and wrists near the wall
  • Slowly slide your arms upward
  • Pause briefly
  • Lower with control
  • Perform 10 to 12 repetitions.

Bird Dogs

Bird dogs strengthen the deep core muscles that stabilize the spine during movement. Many posture problems originate from weak stabilizers that fail to support the back throughout the day. This exercise teaches the body to maintain spinal alignment while the arms and legs move independently. The movement also strengthens the glutes and shoulders, creating better total-body support. Adults over 50 often notice improved posture and balance after adding bird dogs to their routines consistently. Controlled movement matters far more than speed during this exercise.

How to Do It

  • Start on all fours
  • Place your hands beneath your shoulders
  • Position your knees beneath your hips
  • Tighten your core gently
  • Extend one arm and the opposite leg
  • Hold briefly
  • Return with control
  • Alternate sides for 10 repetitions per side.

Glute Bridges

Strong glutes play a major role in posture because they help stabilize the pelvis and support proper spinal positioning. When the glutes weaken, the hips often tilt forward, increasing stress on the lower back and encouraging poor posture. Glute bridges restore strength through the hips while improving core engagement and lower-body stability. The exercise also promotes better alignment throughout the entire posterior chain. Many adults over 50 feel taller and more supported after strengthening their glutes consistently.

How to Do It

  • Lie on your back with knees bent
  • Place your feet flat on the floor
  • Press through your heels
  • Lift your hips upward
  • Tighten your glutes at the top
  • Hold briefly
  • Lower slowly
  • Perform 12 to 15 repetitions.

Standing Shoulder Blade Squeezes

The muscles between the shoulder blades serve as one of the body’s primary posture support systems. When they weaken, the shoulders drift forward and the upper back rounds. Shoulder blade squeezes directly strengthen these important muscles while improving posture awareness throughout the day. The movement feels simple, but many adults quickly discover how little they use these muscles during normal activity. Consistent practice helps retrain the upper back to support a more upright position naturally.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with your chest lifted
  • Relax your shoulders downward
  • Pull your shoulder blades backward
  • Squeeze gently between the shoulder blades
  • Hold for 2 to 3 seconds
  • Release slowly
  • Avoid shrugging your shoulders
  • Perform 12 to 15 repetitions.

Standing Marches

Posture depends heavily on core strength and pelvic stability during movement. Standing marches challenge both while improving balance and coordination. Every time one leg leaves the floor, the core must stabilize the torso to maintain alignment. Many adults lose this ability because prolonged sitting reduces core activation throughout the day. This exercise restores that stability while reinforcing upright posture during a functional movement pattern. Consistent practice helps improve walking mechanics and overall body control.

How to Do It

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart
  • Tighten your core gently
  • Lift one knee toward hip height
  • Lower slowly with control
  • Alternate sides continuously
  • Keep your chest lifted
  • Avoid leaning backward
  • Perform 20 total marches.

Viral Video Sparks Controversy: Man Loses Job After Confronting Father Over Restroom Use

Following the viral incident, a disgruntled customer who criticized Brodsky at a gas station’s women’s restroom has been dismissed by a Mississippi real estate company.

Overstreet Properties, based in Starkville, Mississippi, acknowledged the circulation of videos showing the man, who was an independent contractor for the company, on social media.

“The behavior exhibited in the video does not align with the values of Overstreet Properties or the expectations we have for those representing our organization,” the company stated in a social media update. “We continue to prioritize delivering excellent service to our clients, partners, and community.”

The firm further announced that it has severed ties with the man, as initially reported by TMZ.

The video was captured by Tyler Brodsky, an Oklahoma dad traveling with his two daughters. Brodsky had stopped at a QuikTrip gas station in Alabama and took his daughters into the women’s restroom. Moments later, the video shows a man yelling and demanding that Brodsky leave the facility.

“I knocked and announced that I’m coming in with two girls, which, at this time, the bathroom was empty,” Brodsky recounted on “Fox & Friends First.”

“This guy comes in, starts yelling, demanding that we need to leave, I should have taken them to the men’s restroom, which I disagreed with,” he added. “I’ve personally been in men’s restrooms. I just didn’t feel like it was a good place to take two little girls.”

The man was seen standing in the doorway of the bathroom, scolding Brodsky as he helped his girls wash their hands. The bystander was also seen speaking into his own phone, explaining that his wife and “very ill” mother-in-law had reported a man being inside the women’s restroom.

One of Brodsky’s young daughters was seen crying as the ordeal continued. A QuikTrip manager eventually closed the door on the shouting bystander and apologized to Brodsky and the girls.

A QuikTrip manager eventually stepped in to assist and apologized to Brodsky and the girls.

“It’s a scary thing for little girls, so I tried to just do the best I could in the moment and keep them calm. But they’re doing well now,” Brodsky told “Fox & Friends First” co-host Todd Piro.

In a separate TikTok video, Brodsky noted that three police officers eventually arrived at the scene and assured him he had done nothing wrong.

Tiago Splitter’s Mysterious Response on Leaving the Trail Blazers Sparks Curiosity

0

Tiago Splitter is steering clear of discussions about his exit from the Portland Trail Blazers.

During a media session in Chicago on Wednesday, just after being announced as the new head coach for the Bulls, Splitter addressed inquiries regarding his Portland departure with a straightforward and somewhat enigmatic reply.

“I really want to leave that behind,” Splitter stated. “I’m focusing on the Bulls; that’s my priority right now. The Blazers’ chapter is closed for me. I respect everyone’s opinions, but there has already been too much said. It’s time to move forward, and my focus is on the Chicago Bulls.”

Speculation within the league suggests that Splitter’s departure might have been influenced by the Blazers’ owner, Tom Dundon, allegedly not offering a satisfactory financial package, which Splitter supposedly wasn’t willing to accept.

Splitter takes the reins from Chauncey Billups, who is currently embroiled in federal charges related to a gambling scandal. Under Splitter’s leadership, the Blazers achieved a 42-40 season, marking their first playoff appearance since 2021.

The Blazers lost to the eventual Western Conference champion Spurs in the First Round.

Splitter was the first Blazers coach to have a winning record in his first season with the team since 2001-02, and led the team to a top-10 defense across their final 51 games.

Despite his cryptic answer Wednesday, Splitter still thanked the Blazers for his tenure.

“Thank you to everyone in the organization for your daily dedication and support from day (one),” Splitter wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to the fans for all the love and encouragement. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this journey.”

Splitter succeeds Billy Donovan, who spent six years in Chicago before resigning in April. Donovan went 226-256 with the Bulls, and made the playoffs just once, in 2022.

The new Bulls coach inherits a team that went 31-51 this season, led by guard Josh Giddey, who averaged 17 points per game.

The Bulls also have the fourth pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, giving them the opportunity to hand Splitter a franchise player to work with immediately.

Splitter also brings championship pedigree to Chicago as a former player, as he won the 2014 Finals with the Spurs.

The 2007 first-round pick averaged 7.9 points per game across his seven-year career, and now looks to catapult a middling Bulls team back to contention.

Heartbreaking IVF Mix-Up: Genetic Parents Break Silence on Emotional Journey

0

The biological parents of a baby girl, who was mistakenly implanted into another couple through an IVF error, express their deep sorrow over having to part with their child.

The parents, who have chosen to remain anonymous, conveyed through their lawyer that they faced an ‘unbearable dilemma’ upon discovering their embryo had been used in another woman’s pregnancy.

The mishap is believed to have occurred in March 2020 at the Fertility Center of Orlando. At that time, the biological parents were undergoing procedures simultaneously with Tiffany Score and Steven Mills, a couple from Florida.

Due to a medical mix-up, the wrong embryo was transferred to Score, who later gave birth to a baby girl named Shea in December. It became apparent that Shea was not the biological daughter of Score and Mills.

Driven by a ‘moral obligation,’ Score and Mills sought out Shea’s biological parents. Despite this, they expressed their deep affection for Shea and their desire to keep her.

Although their attorneys said they reached an agreement earlier this week to keep Shea, in an interview with NBC News the biological parents’ attorney said they had been left devastated by the ordeal.

‘They are heartbroken over what has happened… They had to make the heartbreaking decision to not fight for custody,’ their attorney Rob Marcereau said.

He added: ‘They also understand that the birth couple are also suffering.’

Tiffany Score and Steven Mills, a Florida couple who were implanted with another family's embryo in a shocking IVF mix-up, say they have reached an agreement to raise the baby girl as their own

Tiffany Score and Steven Mills welcomed their baby girl Shea in December, only to realize she was the result of a bizarre IVF mix-up that led to a complex legal case to keep her

Score gave birth to the girl in December, and said even though it was instantly apparent that a mistake had been made, she and Mills loved their baby girl Shea and wanted to keep her

Score gave birth to the girl in December, and said even though it was instantly apparent that a mistake had been made, she and Mills loved their baby girl Shea and wanted to keep her

The bizarre situation captured headlines in December when Mills and Score, who are white, welcomed the baby girl, who is non-Caucasian.

They described the search for Shea’s biological parents as a ‘heartbreaking journey’, but said they loved the baby girl as their own and formed an ‘intensely strong emotional bond’ with her.

In a court hearing this week in Seminole County, Florida, a judge approved a ‘mutually devised custody agreement’ between the parties, which will allow Score and Mills to keep custody of the baby girl.

But Marcereau said the agreement was reached primarily due to the complexity of the case, saying that ‘if it was up to my clients and if they had the choice, of course’ they would want to keep Shea.

The attorney said while they would have preferred custody, the legal hurdles in the case would have been too great to overcome and they did not wish to put Score and Mills through a lengthy court challenge.

‘The laws in this country, and in Florida, favor the parents who actually give birth to a child, so it would have been an incredibly uphill legal battle,’ he said.

In response to a request for comment on the situation from the Daily Mail, Score and Mills’ attorney Mara Hatfield said: ‘Tiffany and Steve recognize the public interest in the details of their IVF experience, and they appreciate the role the news media has played in bringing them and Shea to the point where Shea’s genetic parents were able to be identified and fears about Shea’s future have been settled.

‘However, Tiffany and Steve are committed to respect the privacy concerns of Shea’s genetic parents with whom they have begun and intend to continue to foster a relationship of friendship and trust.

‘They are also committed to protecting Shea from harmful intrusion on her privacy. For these reasons neither Tiffany and Steve nor their attorneys will be making any further public comments at this time.’

With custody of Shea settled in court, Score and Mills are undertaking a lawsuit against the Fertility Center of Orlando and doctor Milton McNichol for negligence.

The fertility clinic has admitted that they had implanted the wrong embryo, as testing showed Steven’s sperm was mixed with an egg from another woman and Shea is 100 percent South Asian.

In their recent court hearing, Score and Mills said they found another fertility center to send their remaining frozen embryos from the Fertility Center of Orlando.

Photos shared on Score’s Facebook page depict a seemingly happy family-of-three. The couple and Shea are seen smiling and enjoying each other’s embraces.

The new mother said in a post that although their situation is ‘impossible and deeply frustrating,’ she and Mills are not angry.

‘What we are feeling right now isn’t anger, it’s gratitude. Gratitude and joy for our healthy, beautiful baby girl. Gratitude that we get to hold her, kiss her, and love her,’ she wrote.

‘She is the light of our lives and the one beautiful thing that has come from all of this. No matter how or why this happened, she is ours in every way that matters. The moments we share with her are everything.

‘We are so overwhelmed by the support we have received as we continue to seek answers about our own embryos, if they still exist, or if we may have biological children somewhere in the world.’

Tiffany said despite the mix-up, she and Mills formed an 'intensely strong bond' with Shea

Tiffany said despite the mix-up, she and Mills formed an ‘intensely strong bond’ with Shea

Score had her eggs removed and joined with Mills’s sperm through in vitro fertilization six years ago. Their embryos were subsequently frozen, the lawsuit said.

She had an embryo transfer in February 2025, which failed, and a second one April 7 that same year, according to the complaint.

Embryos are stored in labelled straws before being slipped into a petri dish for rehydration and placed in an incubator to be monitored for one to two hours, the filing said. Afterwards, an embryo is implanted into the patient.

Jack Scarola, an attorney for the Mills, previously told the Daily Mail that despite finding the biological parents, there are still ‘remaining questions about the fate of Tiffany and Steven’s unaccounted for embryos.’

‘In addition, the safe transfer, confirmation of identity, and protection of the single remaining embryo the clinic attributes to our clients are still pending,’ he said.

The couple sued the clinic and their fertility doctor Milton McNichol for negligence in January

The couple sued the clinic and their fertility doctor Milton McNichol for negligence in January

Lawyers for McNichol filed a motion to dismiss their lawsuit which proved unsuccessful.

They said the case should be tossed because: ‘Plaintiffs (1) fail to set forth a valid cause of action against Defendant; and (2) fail to otherwise meet the requirements for emergency and/or preliminary injunctive relief against the Defendant.’

They claimed the couple’s request to locate Shea’s biological parents would result in a violation of other patients’ privacy.

‘Plaintiffs cite no basis in any rule, statute or case which would give this Court any authority to require Defendant to go into patient files and contact patients of his practice who had embryos in storage in the Defendant’s office, to send an unsolicited copy of the Plaintiffs Amended Complaint and a copy of a photograph of the infant Plaintiff, somehow, with no description of how, affording these patients the opportunity to determine whether the infant Plaintiff might be their child or whether these patients may have been the recipient of one of their embryos,’ the filing states.

McNichol still has an active medical license, according to the Florida Department of Health. It is set to expire in January 2028.

McNichol was reprimanded by Florida’s Board of Medicine in May 2024 after an inspection of the clinic in June 2023 revealed several issues.

These reportedly included equipment that ‘did not meet current performance standards,’ not complying with a risk-management agenda and missing medication.

He was fined $5,000 as a result of the offenses.

Forrest Kendall Pemberton, a 27-year-old resident of Gainesville, faces charges that include an attempted hate crime, using a firearm during a violent crime, and possessing a short-barreled rifle.

Prosecutors revealed that on December 23, 2024, Pemberton allegedly tried to execute an attack at the office of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in Plantation, South Florida. AIPAC is known for its lobbying efforts in the U.S. on behalf of Israel.

Authorities reported Pemberton was armed with a silencer-equipped, AR-15-style rifle during the incident. While court documents did not explicitly name the nonprofit, the Palm Beach Post identified AIPAC as the intended target.

AIPAC has faced criticism for its support of conservative Israeli policies, including settlement expansion in the West Bank and assertive military operations. Critics argue that the group opposes imposing conditions on U.S. military assistance to Israel.

If convicted, Pemberton faces up to life in prison on the attempted hate crime count, a mandatory consecutive sentence of up to 30 years in prison on the firearm count, and up to five years in prison on the possession count.

Investigators traced Pemberton using cellphone geolocation technology. He allegedly planned to volunteer for AIPAC in an effort to gain access to the group and carry out a deadly attack. Authorities said he left his home on Dec. 22, 2024, with two rifles and a pistol after leaving a note for his family.

However, when he arrived at the building he believed to be the AIPAC headquarters, the structure was empty, The Palm Beach Post previously reported.

Law enforcement initially became involved in the case when Pemberton’s father called the Gainesville Police Department out of concern over his son’s disappearance. The newspaper reported that Pemberton left a letter apologizing to his family and discussing his “adversity to authority” and the “flaws of modern day.”

“Living in a flawed system haunts me in ways I cannot describe,” he allegedly wrote. “I am breaking the loop.”

Pemberton was pulled over in Tallahassee on Christmas Day 2024 while driving a rideshare vehicle. His abandoned pickup truck was subsequently found by authorities on the side of a road. At the time, Pemberton allegedly told authorities that he was on his way to Alabama to deliver one of his guns to an acquaintance.

No arrest was made during that traffic stop. Pemberton’s father was notified, traveled to Tallahassee, and brought his son back to Gainesville.

On Dec. 26, 2024, Pemberton agreed to be interviewed by investigators, who asked if he had intended to commit an act of violence.

“Um, I really don’t know if I was gonna end it with my life or not,” he allegedly said. “I hadn’t gotten that far yet. It entirely depended if I ended up getting caught. If caught, that was the way out.”

Pemberton was arrested the following day. News Media has reached out to ZAIPAC.

Season 2 Premiere of ‘Sugar’: A Recap of Episode 1, “Alien Nation

“Sugar” defies initial expectations. At first glance, it follows John Sugar, a gentle and kind-hearted private investigator in Los Angeles, who dedicates his life to solving missing persons cases after the mysterious disappearance of his own sister, Djen. However, there’s a unique twist to this narrative—John is not your typical detective; he is, in fact, an alien with striking blue eyes and skin.

The first season concluded with a dramatic revelation: Henry, portrayed by Jason Butler Harner, is John’s closest ally among the alien community mingling with humans. However, Henry succumbs to the chaos of human violence, losing his sanity. He mentors an emerging serial killer, whom John ultimately kills, breaking his own species’ strict rule against violence. Before vanishing, Henry hints at his involvement in Djen’s disappearance. Despite their people’s forced departure from Earth due to being discovered by human authorities, Henry chooses to remain, intent on killing once more, while John stays to thwart him.

As the new season begins, the storyline takes an unexpected turn right from the opening credits. This is not the show you might have anticipated.

With Mark Protosevich and Simon Kinberg stepping down, new showrunner Sam Catlin reinvents the narrative direction that seemed pre-determined. In a surprising twist, Henry reappears in the first scene, only to be found dying by suicide, overwhelmed by his assimilation into human misdeeds. He expresses remorse for his actions and for his role in Djen’s fate, yet dies before divulging any details. This leaves John stranded on Earth with no leads on his sister’s whereabouts, stripping the show of its original driving force.

Nonetheless, “Sugar” pivots to explore new mysteries, particularly how John’s alien community was exposed. John suspects that the father of the young serial killer from the first season, a senator, is linked to the revelation. Quietly, John acquires a luxurious home in the Hills, strategically overlooking the senator’s residence to continue his investigation, a motive unveiled only at the episode’s conclusion.

Mostly, John just loves being in Los Angeles, which he returns to immediately after the debacle with Henry. (All he takes back with him is a hidden communicator unit he briefly uses to see if any other aliens stayed behind.) His bitchin’ vintage convertible, his posh hotel-suite digs, his endless collection of perfect suits, his sad-eyed love of Hollywood’s Golden Age — they’re all waiting for him upon his return. (He gave his dog to Amy Ryan’s character at the end of Season 1.)

As he reacclimates himself to the hotel, Sugar keeps making eye contact with a beautiful brunette who eventually introduces herself to him. Her name is Charlotte, “like the spider’s web.” I’m hoping we’ve got a femme fatale here, but on this show, looks can be deceiving.

Which is not to say no one is honest in Sugar’s Los Angeles. One of the episode’s funniest gags involves a young woman (Sasha Calle) who helps steal Sugar’s car, then charges him $300 bucks to get it back. (She’s got a credit card reader and everything.) Fortunately for Sugar, she turns out to be one of those trustworthy car thieves, and brings his wheels right back to him as agreed.

Sugar winds up taking his first new case on behalf of a human buddy, who’s concerned for a kid from the neighborhood, Ji Moon (Raymond Lee). Ji and his brother Danny (Jin Ha) are boxers, but Danny’s on the rise while Ji is struggling. After stealing some meds from a hospital, Ji disappears, and John spends time trying to retrace his steps through the hospital stairwell and out to the street based on the voicemail Ji left Danny while it was happening, saying something about how his pursuer “looked down on me with those fucking eyes, and I ran.” Glowing blue eyes are a hallmark of Sugar’s people, leading me to wonder if he’s already more involved in this case than he knows.

Other than the dramatic shift in the storyline away a Fugitive-style hunt for a killer, the big news here is simple: John Sugar’s Los Angeles is back. It’s a fantasy LA, a frictionless LA, an LA where you can cruise around in your perfect car in your perfect suits. It’s a place where clips from old movies help you wax philosophical about the human condition and your own place in it, as the the buildings and the neon glow in your windshield. It’s colorful place, with heavily saturated reds and blues in particular, an unusual color palette for a streaming show. (You do see it in Michael Mann films.)

It’s a place where nurses willingly incriminate themselves to help you after knowing you for all of two minutes, like you’re Sgt. Joe Friday on Dragnet. It’s a place where a middle-aged Irish guy like Colin Farrell can meet cute with a different beautiful middle-aged Irish (or Irish-American) lady every season and get a whole cool stylish sci-fi mystery out of it. It’s a city of immigrants, like Ji Moon, like John Sugar.

It is, in short, very much my kind of place. And if both the Season 1 twist and this Season 2 reshuffle are any indication, there’s no way to get a sense of its boundaries until you’ve been there. I’m ready to hop in.
