Sir Paul McCartney Reveals the ‘Demon’ He Regretted Working With

Paul McCartney, the iconic member of The Beatles, has long been celebrated for his down-to-earth demeanor and amiable personality. Fans and fellow musicians alike often speak of his warm and genuine nature offstage, even as his public persona has evolved over the years to navigate the demands of extraordinary fame.

However, not everyone has witnessed McCartney’s genial side. Today, as the legendary British musician and songwriter marks his 84th birthday on June 18, he reflects candidly on his tumultuous disputes with The Beatles’ later manager, Allen Klein, whom he once described as a “sort of demon.”

While McCartney has had creative differences with other famous collaborators, his intense dislike for Klein stands out, primarily because it led to a rift with his fellow Beatles members.

In the late 1960s, as The Beatles found themselves without a manager, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr decided to hire American businessman Allen Klein. McCartney, however, was adamantly against this decision and refused to sign the contract with Klein.

McCartney has shared that his interactions with Klein were so troubling that the manager haunted his dreams, comparing the experience to that of a “dentist” visit.

By the mid-1970s, the remaining three Beatles had also fallen out with Klein, cut all ties, and pursued their own legal action against him. Yet Klein was not the only individual McCartney clashed with.

On a purely creative level, McCartney confessed he thoroughly detested working indirectly alongside legendary producer Phil Spector.

When Lennon handed the raw 1969 Get Back session tapes to Spector, who added his signature “Wall of Sound” orchestration, McCartney was furious about Spector’s heavy additions of lush choirs and sweeping strings to his song “The Long and Winding Road”.

Some decades later in 2003, McCartney ultimately released Let It Be… Naked, entirely stripped of Spector’s production choices.

McCartney also found himself at odds with notorious producer Quincy Jones after he branded The Beatles “the worst musicians in the world” back in 2018, singling out McCartney as the “worst bass player I ever heard”.

Nevertheless, McCartney subsequently disclosed that Jones contacted him personally to offer his apologies, attributing the outburst to a misunderstanding.

Don Jr. Accuses Ted Cruz of Deception Over Controversial Iran Deal: A Heated Political Clash

0

Donald Trump Jr. has sharply criticized Ted Cruz, accusing the Texas senator of deceit after Cruz condemned President Trump’s proposed arrangement with Iran.

On Wednesday evening, President Trump signed a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding with Iran during the G7 summit in France. This agreement aims to resolve ongoing tensions after a series of challenging negotiations.

Despite this diplomatic move, several Republicans express concern that the deal overwhelmingly favors Iran at the expense of U.S. interests.

A key issue is the establishment of a $300 billion fund for Iran’s reconstruction and development, prompting skepticism about whether the agreement is overly generous.

Cruz voiced his apprehension in an interview with the Daily Wire, stating, “Based on what’s been disclosed, it appears the president might be receiving misguided advice concerning this deal.”

‘History teaches that giving billions of dollars to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is a bad idea,’ he continued.

Cruz went on to complain that between ‘$10 billion and $30 billion will flow to the Ayatollah immediately’ before they make any single nuclear concession.

After reading the remarks, Trump Jr claimed on social media that Cruz ‘is lying thru his teeth’ about the deal.

‘We’re not giving them a cent and he knows that,’ the First Son said.

‘Using fake news about the deal to undermine @realDonaldTrump is the opposite of MAGA.’

Under the proposed deal, Iran’s ‘reconstruction and development fund’ would come from money the regime receives when sanctions are lifted and its assets are unfrozen.

The Trump administration insists American taxpayer dollars will not be used for the fund.

Yet that has not stopped some Republican lawmakers and pundits from slamming the proposed deal.

‘I think that’s ill-advised,’ said Cruz, who has been an ally of the president in the past.

‘That money, if it goes to the Ayatollah, will go to fund terrorists trying to kill Americans and weapons that will be used to kill Americans.’

Cruz also noted that the MOU allows Iran to maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20 percent of the world’s oil supply flows.

‘It is difficult to see what possible benefit to America could come from that.’

Cruz then went on to praise the president for launching the war with Iran’s brutal dictatorship.

He said Trump ‘was exactly right to initiate military action against Iran, because for 47 years the regime has been waging war against America.’

Cruz called Iran ‘the world’s leading funder of terrorism’ and said they’ve been ‘murdering Americans’ for since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

‘Nearly 1,000 Americans have been murdered by the Ayatollah and the mullahs,’ Cruz claimed. ‘That is why the president acted as a strong commander-in-chief to take out their military capacity.’

But, Cruz said, ‘It is not remotely in America’s interest for us to pay to rebuild that capacity that we just took out.’

He wasn’t the only Republican who cast doubt on the deal.

Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy, who lost in a primary last month after Trump targeted him for defeat, declared on social media that ‘Reagan is rolling over in his grave.’

He argued that Iran’s nuclear ambitions ‘were not curbed’ under the deal, which gives both sides a 60-day window to finalize an agreement on how to deal with Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, and that the Iranian regime learned it could leverage the Strait of Hormuz to extract concessions.

‘Before the war, the strait was open, Iran was being crushed by sanctions and 13 service members were still alive,’ Cassidy noted. ‘Now, 13 Americans are dead, families have paid billions at the pump, sanctions will be lifted and the bombing has stopped.

‘This is the worst foreign policy blunder in decades,’ he wrote.

Fox News’ Mark Levin also tore apart the deal in a lengthy post on X.

He had mused earlier in the day he found ‘much to be concerned about’ in the agreement, and expanded on his thoughts after the terms of the deal were formally released.

‘President Trump ordered this military operation to prevent Iran from getting and using nuclear weapons,’ he noted, saying the early days of the joint operation with Israel seemed to be a ‘spectacular success.’

‘Great damage has been done to Iran’s military. And the president deserves enormous credit for having the courage to do what no other president did before him,’ Levin wrote.

But he went on to say he had consistently warned that the Iranian regime would not honor any peace deal, and would instead use the negotiations as a way to further the regime’s goals.

The Trump administration, though, opted to abandon ‘the military destruction of Iran… due, in part, to polling and gas prices’ and seek a deal in an effort to avoid a ‘forever war.’

If the deal is now not ‘drastically altered during the 60-day negotiation period, a forever war – a continuation of Iran’s war on the West – is not in doubt.’

Levin also noted that the Memorandum of Understanding does not make any mention of Iran’s use of ballistic missiles, which he said are ‘the single most destructive weapon Iran has used and which have the capability of killing tens of thousands and destroying cities if launched in a wave.’

The proposed deal also fails to mention Iran’s ‘promoting and funding terrorism and terror groups,’ Levin said, adding there is ‘not a word about the Iranian people who we promised to help at the outset.

‘Apparently, they’ve been abandoned,’ he claimed.

Further, Levin said, the Memorandum of Understanding does not mention anything about the Iranian regime paying reparations to the US, Israel or Gulf countries ‘for the massive damage caused by their ballistic missiles and other missiles.’

‘AGAIN, DURING THE NEXT 60 DAYS THIS MOU REQUIRES SERIOUS CHANGES IF NOT OUTRIGHT ABANDONMENT,’ the Fox News host concluded.

His colleague on the network, contributor Leslie Marshall, went even further as she described the Memorandum of Understanding as ‘a great deal for Iran.’

‘Iran comes back richer,’ she said on Wednesday’s Special Report with Bret Baier. ‘When you look at items 6, 7, 11 in the 14 points, they get money – $300 billion.’

While she acknowledged that taxpayers are not footing that bill, Marshall questioned what the United States does get out of the deal.

‘We get a strait that was opened before reopened. We get a temporary hold in no tolls,’ she told Baier, noting that Iran is getting concessions despite not having a regime change.

‘And where is the verification – the specific verification within these 14 points of this MOU to make sure that Iran is more than just promising that they’re not going to have any nukes?’ Marshall asked, rhetorically.

‘And by the way, they can temporarily have nukes, and the president today said it’s OK for them to have missiles,’ she continued. ‘This is why you have bipartisan support against this.’

Marshall was referring to a news conference the president gave earlier in the day, in which he argued that a complete ban on conventional ballistic missiles is unrealistic because ‘they got to have some.’

‘What am I going to do? Am I going to let Saudi Arabia have missiles, but they can’t have them?’ Trump said during the briefing. ‘Missiles aren’t the problem. They hurt a little location, but they don’t blow up the planet.’

Trump conceded in a news conference on Wednesday that Iran will be able to keep its ballistic missiles

Trump conceded in a news conference on Wednesday that Iran will be able to keep its ballistic missiles

When a reporter then noted that one of the goals of Operation Epic Fury was to destroy Iran’s ballistic missiles, Trump doubled down.

‘What are they keeping? They have less than other nations now. The rest of them are underground. They can’t even get them out,’ Trump said in defense, adding that US forces have already knocked out about 85 percent of their missiles.

The president then half-jokingly suggested Vice President JD Vance could own the fallout if a deal were to go south.

‘I like that idea. This way, if it works out, I’m going to take the credit. If it doesn’t work out, I’m blaming JD. You better be careful, JD. He’s going to turn his plane around and get the hell out of here,’ Trump said menacingly.

But, he vowed that if Iran were to misbehave he would ‘go back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head.’

Strengthen Your Lower Back with These 4 Effective Wall Exercises for Seniors

0

Rebuilding lower back strength after the age of 60 can be effectively achieved through targeted exercises, with the wall serving as a valuable tool to guide your efforts.

A robust lower back is often supported by the surrounding muscles. These include your glutes, hamstrings, hips, core, and upper back, all of which play a crucial role in maintaining spinal support during daily activities like standing, walking, bending, lifting, or holding a posture for extended periods. Wall exercises offer a straightforward method to engage these muscle groups with enhanced control, making them particularly beneficial for those over 60.

While squats are excellent for leg development, building lower back strength demands more than simply bending and straightening your knees. It requires a strong hinge, stable hips, active glutes, and sufficient core engagement to support your spine. The wall acts as a feedback tool, helping you sense your hip movements, your back’s position, and your body’s alignment with each repetition.

In coaching for lower back strength, I emphasize mastering control over movement before introducing any additional weight. It’s important to determine whether the hips can move independently of the spine, if the glutes can fully engage at the end of a movement, and whether the core can remain engaged while the legs are in motion. With wall exercises, these key aspects are easier to monitor, as the wall provides a consistent point of reference while your muscles do the work.

When I coach lower back strength, I usually focus on how well someone can control the movement before adding load. Can the hips move without the spine doing all the work? Can the glutes finish the rep? Can the core stay lightly braced while the legs move? Wall exercises make those checkpoints easier to feel because the wall gives you a reference point while your muscles still do the work.

Use these four exercises as a simple lower-back support routine. Move slowly, keep your breathing steady, and focus on building strength through your hips, glutes, hamstrings, and core. A few controlled rounds can help your lower back feel stronger and better supported through daily movement.

Hip Hinge to Wall

The hip hinge to wall trains your glutes, hamstrings, core, and lower back while teaching your hips to move with control. Reaching your hips back toward the wall gives you a clear target, which helps you learn the hinge pattern more easily. This movement builds the strength you use when bending, lifting, picking things up, or standing back up from a forward position. Keep the range smooth and let your hips lead the rep.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, lower back, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand about a foot in front of a wall with your back facing it.
  2. Place your feet hip-width apart.
  3. Brace your core and soften your knees.
  4. Push your hips back toward the wall.
  5. Tap the wall lightly with your hips.
  6. Drive your hips forward to return to standing.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Bodyweight good mornings, banded good mornings, dumbbell RDLs.

Form Tip: Keep your spine long and move through your hips.

Wall Glute Bridge

Wall glute bridges train your glutes and hamstrings while your core helps keep your pelvis steady. Placing your feet on the wall creates a strong setup for pressing through your heels and feeling the work in the backside of your body. Stronger glutes give your lower back more support during walking, stairs, standing, and lifting. Pause at the top of each rep, letting the glutes finish the movement.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, core, lower back.

How to Do It:

  1. Lie on your back with your feet flat against a wall.
  2. Bend your knees to a comfortable angle.
  3. Brace your core and press your heels into the wall.
  4. Lift your hips until your body forms a straight line from shoulders to knees.
  5. Squeeze your glutes at the top.
  6. Lower your hips with control.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Wall bridge holds, single-leg wall glute bridges, mini-band wall glute bridges.

Form Tip: Press through your heels and keep your ribs down as your hips lift.

Wall Plank

Wall planks train your abs, shoulders, glutes, and deep core while keeping the position more approachable than a floor plank. Your midsection has to brace to keep your body aligned, and your glutes help support your pelvis. This kind of bracing strength helps your lower back because the core learns to hold steady while your body supports its own weight. Step farther from the wall to increase the challenge.

Muscles Trained: Core, shoulders, glutes, chest.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand facing a wall.
  2. Place your hands on the wall at shoulder height.
  3. Step your feet back until your body forms a straight line.
  4. Brace your core and squeeze your glutes.
  5. Hold the position while breathing steadily.
  6. Step forward to come out of the hold.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 to 40-second holds. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Wall plank with shoulder taps, lower-angle wall plank, wall plank with knee drives.

Form Tip: Keep your ribs stacked over your hips and your body in one long line.

Wall-Supported Hip Extension

Wall-supported hip extensions train your glutes and hamstrings while the wall gives you balance support. Extending one leg behind you strengthens hip extension, which helps power walking, stairs, and standing tall. This exercise also teaches your glutes to work without your lower back taking over the movement. Keep the lift small, squeeze at the top, and stay tall through your torso.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, core, hip stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand facing a wall with your hands lightly placed against it.
  2. Shift your weight onto one foot.
  3. Brace your core and keep your chest tall.
  4. Extend your opposite leg straight behind you.
  5. Squeeze your glute at the top.
  6. Lower your foot with control and switch sides after your reps.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps per side. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Banded hip extensions, paused hip extensions, slower tempo hip extensions.

Form Tip: Lift from your glute and keep your lower back quiet.

How to Build Lower Back Strength With Wall Exercises

Wall exercises work best when the wall helps you find better positions while your muscles still create the effort. Keep your movements smooth, brace lightly, and focus on making your hips, glutes, hamstrings, and core support the lower back from every angle.

  • Build your hinge pattern: Hip hinges teach your glutes and hamstrings to help with bending and lifting. Better hinge control gives your lower back a stronger support system.
  • Train your glutes with purpose: Wall glute bridges and hip extensions strengthen the muscles that help your hips drive movement. Stronger glutes can make standing, walking, and climbing stairs feel more supported.
  • Use your core as a brace: Wall planks help your abs support your spine. A steady core gives your lower back more help during daily movement.
  • Move with control: Slower reps make it easier to feel the right muscles working. Smooth movement also helps you build strength without rushing through positions.
  • Progress one step at a time: Add reps, longer holds, pauses, a light band, or a slightly harder angle once the exercises feel comfortable.

Stronger lower back support comes from building the team around your spine. Use the wall for feedback, keep the reps clean, and let your hips, glutes, hamstrings, and core build the strength that helps you move through the day with more confidence.

Shocking Twist: Man in Disguise Commits Unexpected Crime Against Young Mother

0

Eyewitnesses to the shocking murder of Heather Strube unanimously recounted a similar detail: a man approached her and fired a fatal shot in the bustling parking lot of a Target store in Snellville, Georgia.

After the shooting, the perpetrator casually walked away, leaving behind Heather’s 19-month-old son, Carson, who remained safely buckled in his car seat as his mother lay dying on the pavement.

As investigators delved into the harrowing case, later featured on Oxygen’s Dateline: Secrets Uncovered, they discovered that the truth was far more complex than it initially appeared.

Heather was known as a gifted florist and a devoted mom. Those who knew her described her as an extraordinary individual who had a knack for making everyone feel at home.

“She was always a ray of sunshine in everyone’s life,” recalled her father, Buddy Allen, in the episode titled “Deadly Swap.” He added, “If I had to sum up her personality in one word, it would be ‘bright,’ because she always brought light into any space or relationship she was part of.”

“She’d always been such a ray of sunshine in everyone’s lives,” her dad Buddy Allen recalled in the “Deadly Swap” episode. “I would describe her personality in one word, and that’s bright, because she always brought light into an area or into a relationship that she came into.”

By the age of 20, Heather and her high school sweetheart Steven Strube were married and welcomed Carson three years later. Heather opened her own floral shop, often keeping Carson in a play pen at the store, while Steven worked in construction. But under the strain juggling a new business and baby, the marriage began to crumble.

“There were absolutely times where I just held her as she cried,” friend Jennifer Bagby remembered. “Where it just became overwhelming and too much and too heavy. She was broken. She took her vows very seriously.”

At the time of her death, Heather was in the midst of a divorce and custody battle with Steven.

What Happened to Heather Strube?

She had been meeting Steven to do a custody exchange of their son just before 6 p.m. on April 26, 2009 in a busy Target parking lot.

But just moments after Steven’s car drove away, witnesses reported seeing a man approach Heather’s SUV on foot and shoot her in the forehead. The shooter then calmly walked back toward the store and around the building as frantic witnesses called 911.

As Snellville Police Chief Roy Whitehead noted, “It’s pretty brazen that you’re willing to walk up in daylight in an area that’s so densely populated and perpetrate this crime.”

When an officer arrived at the scene minutes later, he found Heather dead next to her SUV and Carson inside the vehicle.

“The child was still sitting in the back seat,” Whitehead explained. “The officer immediately took the child out of the car and put him in his patrol car.”

Witnesses Describe Heather Strube’s Shooter Wearing Fake Mustache, Wig

At the scene, detectives were struck by the fact that there were no signs of a struggle or evidence that anything had been taken from the vehicle, suggesting that Heather had not been killed in a kidnapping or robbery gone wrong.

The only blood at the scene belonged to Heather. A K-9 was able to track the suspect to a parking area of an extended stay hotel located behind the Target store, before losing the scent.

Investigators believed that’s likely where the suspect got into a vehicle and drove away. Surveillance footage also captured the suspect following that same path with a distinctive straight-legged gait, seemingly confirming their theory.

Witnesses to the shooting described the suspect as a thin, white male, who approached Heather as she was loading her son into the back seat of the car, then stood in front of the driver’s door to prevent her from entering the vehicle.

“I got the impression that they knew each other,” a female witness told investigators. “It seemed odd to me afterward…When I first saw it I thought it was a confrontation.”

The witness added that as she was driving by the car, she heard Heather say “help.”

Another 18-year-old witness driving by with her parents told detectives that she believed Heather knew it was a “dangerous situation.”

She also provided another telling clue: The suspect had been wearing what looked like a “really fake” mustache and what may have been a wig.

The central theme from the witnesses was it looked like the killer was wearing a disguise.

“It was certainly bizarre,” Detective Trey Downs remarked, “and so we’ve got to figure out why.”

Witnesses Described Distinctive Truck Belonging to Heather Strube’s Killer

Detectives believed Heather had likely been targeted by a killer lying in wait and focused their investigation on the 12 people who knew she was meeting Steven in the parking lot that day.

Authorities learned that Steven had an affair during the marriage and often had heated custody exchanges with his now-estranged wife, but they were able to rule him out after his vehicle was seen pulling out of the parking lot not long before the shooting.

Heather’s new boyfriend Michael Vickers had also been miles away at work, making it impossible for him to commit the crime.

Investigators caught the break they needed when a truck driver—who had been staying at the hotel behind the Target—called police to report that he had seen a person wearing a wig and mustache in the back of the parking lot a few hours before the shooting. The person was driving a white F-150 truck that was distinctive because of after-market black trim around the bottom of the vehicle.

Who Killed Heather Strobe?

The vehicle description matched the truck Steven’s mom Joanna Hayes drove. Joanna also looked eerily similar to a sketch created from witness descriptions.

Joanna claimed that she’d taken a three hour drive that night to visit her parents, stopping at a Wendy’s along the way. But the time stamp on the receipt showed that she still would have had time to kill Heather and still make it to the restaurant.

Detectives also learned from Heather’s friends that she had a difficult relationship with Joanna, who was often controlling and wanted to dictate how Carson was raised.

While Joanna insisted she had nothing to do with the murder, detectives turned their attention to her son Steven and called him in for questioning.

After showing him footage of the shooter walking through the parking lot and the artist sketch, Steven appeared to recognize the suspect as his mother and crumbled.

“Holy crap,” a visibly emotional Steven said in the interrogation room. “Oh my God.”

Though Steven agreed to help police by calling his mother and confronting her, she continued to insist during the call that she didn’t kill her daughter-in-law.

A defiant Joanna continued to stick to her story even after detectives brought her in for formal questioning.

In the months that followed, detectives found other circumstantial evidence to link her to the crime, like a single fiber in her truck that may have come from a wig. Some of the eye witnesses also identified her as the possible killer.

Was Joanna Hayes Convicted?

A grand jury ultimately indicted Joanna on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm. She was convicted in 2011 and sentenced to life in prison with the chance of parole after 30 years.

Heather’s parents gained custody of her son Carson—though Heather’s mom Mary died just three years after the trial. Her dad Buddy continues to honor Heather’s memory as he her son on his own.

“That’s what hurt more than anything,” Buddy remarked, “because to deprive that little boy of that wonderful woman changed the whole trajectory of his life.”

Tragic Accident: Horse-Drawn Carriage Overturns, Claims Life Near Iconic NYC Landmark

0

A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday when an 18-year-old lost his life after a horse-drawn carriage unexpectedly bolted through Central Park in New York City. The runaway carriage collided with another, resulting in an overturn, as reported by the Central Park Conservancy.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson informed the media that the “investigation is still ongoing.”

The victim, Romanch Mahajan, was an 18-year-old tourist from India enjoying a visit to NYC. He sustained fatal injuries after being thrown from the carriage during the afternoon mishap near Cherry Hill at the intersection of West 72nd Street and West Drive.

Officials detailed that the carriage, which was carrying passengers at the time, broke loose and sped down West Drive. It subsequently struck another carriage and overturned near the popular spot of Tavern on the Green.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene where the overturned carriage lay, following the tragic collision that led to the fatal injury of Romanch Mahajan. The incident has left many in shock and mourning. (WNYW)

PIX11 News previously reported that Mahajan was transported to a local hospital in critical condition following the crash.

“We are absolutely devastated to learn that Romanch Mahajan, the 18-year-old visitor injured in today’s carriage incident, has died,” a Central Park Conservancy spokesperson told News Media. “On behalf of everyone at the Central Park Conservancy, our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this unimaginable time.”

Officials have not said what caused the horse to become spooked.

The fatal crash prompted renewed scrutiny of New York City’s horse-drawn carriage industry, with both the union representing carriage drivers and the Central Park Conservancy calling for changes following the incident.

Alexander Kemp of TWU Local 100, the union representing horse-drawn carriage drivers and owners, said preliminary information alleges the driver may have stepped away from the horse to take a photo before the animal took off.

“It appears the driver was at least at arm’s length from his horse to take a photo of his passengers in the carriage,” Kemp told News Media in an earlier statement. “This is unacceptable. A driver is not supposed to leave the carriage to take photos – ever.”

The union said it supports a full investigation into the incident and called for enhanced driver training, tougher examinations and additional rules governing the introduction of new horses into the business.

The Central Park Conservancy, which has long opposed horse-drawn carriages in the park, said Mahajan’s death underscored its concerns about public safety.

“This is the tragedy we feared when we first called last year for horse carriages to be banned from Central Park due to the risks they pose to public safety and public health,” the spokesperson said.

“A young man came to enjoy our park and lost his life. That is not an acceptable cost of an antiquated industry operating in the middle of one of the most heavily used public spaces in America.”

The conservancy renewed its call for New York City officials to pass Ryder’s Law, which would ban horse-drawn carriages and provide transitional job placement services for drivers.

“Every day horse carriages are in the park is a day the safety of New Yorkers and visitors is in jeopardy,” the spokesperson said.

According to the conservancy, Wednesday’s crash was the eighth horse-related incident in and around Central Park during the past 13 months.

The incident came just days after a carriage horse named Deniz collapsed and died near West 72nd Street and West Drive while pulling tourists through the park.

Another carriage reportedly overturned in May after a horse became spooked and struck a second carriage.

News Media has reached to the NYPD and TWU Local 100 for additional comment.

City Officials Explore the Evolution and Future Plans for the MLK Corridor

SAVANNAH, Ga. — In a meeting held on Wednesday, city officials in Savannah delved into potential future modifications for Martin Luther King Boulevard, a street steeped in local history.

The city organized a community event dubbed the MLK Celebration Corridor Initiative to gather public opinion and discuss prospective alterations to the boulevard.

During the event, officials reflected on the boulevard’s past, recalling its days as West Broad Street. They emphasized that it was more than a mere thoroughfare; it was a vital piece of Savannah’s historical tapestry.

“During the 1860s and 70s, that community flourished into a significant African American commercial and cultural hub in the South,” remarked Edward Morrow, the Assistant Director of Planning and Economic Development. “It housed churches, barbershops, grocers, theaters, and a bank—a place for those who had just been emancipated to gather and thrive.”

Over recent years, city leaders have been contemplating changes aimed at enhancing both the visual appeal and structural layout of the roadway.

Some of the changes include adding trees, green space, signage and the removal of the I-16 flyover.

“It took away businesses, it took away homes, it destroyed city streets,” City of Savannah Mayor Van Johnson said. “These are things now that planners would never, ever do, because we’ve learned the lessons of those days”

City leaders said all the proposed changes are meant to revitalize the area’s economy and make it more walkable.

Alderwoman Alicia Blakely said she is curious to see what will happen to the corridor. She does not want the name or history to be lost with any future development.

“I am here because I am curious. I am curious to know what’s going to happen to our corridor. I want to know what’s going to take place,” Blakely said. “I want to make sure that this history of this phenomenal, awesome man is not lost, and the name is not lost either.

Chief of Planning and Economic Development Faye DiMassimo shared new information during Wednesday’s meeting. The city received an approval document from GDOT that stated removing the flyover will not affect traffic operations, DiMassimo said.

DiMassimo said this project still has a long way to go but they hit a turning point. However, they are still looking to gather feedback from the public before it is presented to city council.

Toronto Drugstore Tragedy: Woman Released After Stabbing Newlywed in Schizophrenic Episode

0

A woman diagnosed with schizophrenia, who brutally killed a newlywed in a Toronto drugstore, has been unexpectedly released over a decade after the horrific incident.

Rohinie Bisesar, now aged 51, was granted an “absolute discharge” by the Ontario Review Board on June 3. The board concluded that she no longer poses a danger to the public and has fully committed to her rehabilitation, according to a report by CBC.

This surprising decision comes more than ten years after Bisesar fatally stabbed 28-year-old Rosemarie Junor in the chest inside a downtown Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart on December 11, 2015.

Bisesar, who worked as a financial adviser and was dressed in professional attire at the time, fled the scene but was later apprehended by Toronto police.

Junor, who had recently celebrated her marriage, was rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries a few days later.

The unprovoked murder committed by a woman who held an MBA and several other business degrees shocked the city.

“While the tragedy cannot be undone and will always be on our minds, Ms. Bisesar no longer is a significant threat to the safety of the public, and the law requires that an absolute discharge must be imposed,” the board wrote in its decision this month.

“Ms. Bisesar’s commitment to her present health has substantially contributed to this result. The board acknowledges the effort Ms. Bisesar has put into her recovery and wishes her well in her next chapter.”

Bisesar, who has schizophrenia, was found not criminally responsible for Junor’s slaying during a one-day trial in November 2018.

A psychiatrist testified Bisesar had untreated schizophrenia and was experiencing a psychotic break when she attacked her victim, the outlet reported.

“I am satisfied on a balance of probabilities that Rohinie Bisesar suffered from a mental disorder, schizophrenia, when she took this woman’s life,” Justice John McMahon said during the 2018 hearing.

“Because of the schizophrenia, she was incapable of knowing the killing was morally and legally wrong.”

She was held in a mental health hospital until late 2021, when she was allowed to live in the community and released to an outpatient facility, CBC reported.

Junor’s family told Canadian outlet Global News that their daughter’s killer needs to comply with her treatment plan — and that they “pray to the Lord to help keep Bisesar safe.”

They added that they have “never gotten over the loss of their daughter,” who was taken too young and hoped that Bisesar “takes her medication so that the public remains safe and she can’t harm anyone else.”

Volunteer High School Football Team Sets Sights on a Promising Future

CHURCH HILL, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Volunteer High School’s football team has recently been thrust into the limelight due to scrutiny from both the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) and the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office. However, both Hawkins County Schools and the Falcons’ head coach, Jeremy Wagner, remain optimistic about the team’s future, expressing hope for better days ahead.

The TSSAA imposed probation on the Falcons after discovering that coach Wagner had inappropriately reached out to a player from Cherokee High School and his father, and even contacted a university on the player’s behalf.

In response to the ruling, both Wagner and Matt Hixson, the Director of Schools for Hawkins County, expressed their agreement with the decisions made by the TSSAA and the comptroller’s office. Despite the setback, they are confident that the Falcons’ football team is destined for a promising future with many achievements yet to come.

“This is a learning opportunity for me,” Wagner stated. “We’re committed to moving forward, growing, and strengthening our team together.”
