Angelina Jolie celebrated her 51st birthday on Thursday, surrounded by her family, following the news that her son Maddox has officially dropped Brad Pitt’s surname.

The actress kept it casual in a grey sweater and trousers, complemented by a pair of spectacles, as she was spotted in Los Angeles with her sons Knox, 17, and Pax, 22.

Knox showed off his vibrant new hair, dyed in shades of orange and red, while wearing a cream shirt and white joggers. He was seen assisting his mother with unloading items from their car.

Meanwhile, Pax engaged in conversation with Jolie as they geared up to celebrate her birthday.

This family outing follows reports confirming that Maddox, Jolie’s eldest son at 24, recently took legal steps to remove ‘Pitt’ from his surname. He now goes by Maddox Chivan Jolie, citing ‘personal’ reasons for the change.

Maddox informally dropped the surname in February, when he was listed in the end credits of his mother’s movie, Couture, as Maddox Jolie, rather than Maddox Jolie-Pitt.

In a heartbreaking blow to the Oscar winner, who has been estranged from his children, Maddox has joined several of his siblings in distancing themselves from the Pitt name, following his sister Shiloh’s legal name change last year. 

His other sisters, Zahara, 21, and Vivienne, 17, have also informally dropped the name. 

Pitt, 62, and Jolie were married from 2014 to 2019, but their relationship came to a tumultuous end years before their divorce was finalized. 

The Daily Mail reached out to Pitt’s representatives for comment at the time.

The sighting comes after Knox, Pax, and Maddox were seen at sister Zahara’s graduation from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia  – but there was no sign of Pitt, whose last name Zahara ditched again at the ceremony.

Knox, his twin Vivienne and Shiloh, 20, were welcomed during Jolie’s relationship with Pitt, which ended in divorce in 2016.

Zahara appeared to publicly remove Pitt’s last name for the first time in her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority initiation ceremony in late 2023.

In their divorce, Jolie cited irreconcilable differences and later accused Pitt of abusing both her and their children, which he has denied. 

Their lengthy, contentious divorce battle was finalized in late 2024, and since then, many of their kids have dropped Pitt’s surname amid their ongoing estrangement. 

Shiloh now also goes by Shiloh Nouvel Jolie as she filed paperwork to legally remove her estranged dad’s surname from her own when she turned 18 in the summer of 2024. 

Then, in February, Maddox dropped Pitt from his professional credits as he appeared as Maddox Jolie in the production notes for the film Couture and screenings of the movie Maria. 

In May 2024, Vivienne was credited as Vivienne Jolie, not Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, on the playbill for The Outsiders, the Broadway musical. 

Pitt made a shocking remark about his family after his bitter divorce from Jolie officially came to an end, but his fractured relationship with their six children remains unresolved. 

Pitt, who believes his relationship with two of his children is ‘unfixable,’ opened up about how important family is to him amid his ongoing and escalating estrangement from his kids. 

‘No matter the mistake, you just learn from [it] and move on,’ he told ET. ‘It’ll lead to the next success,’ the actor said at the F1 premiere in Mexico City.

The Oscar winner continued, ‘When you get to my age, you realize how important it is to surround yourself with the people you love, the people that love you back.’ 

‘Friends, family, and that’s it,’ he added. ‘From there, we get to go make things. It’s a pretty simple, I think, equation.’ 

The interview comes after a source exclusively told the Daily Mail how Pitt felt after Pax was pictured last month stumbling out of the Chateau Marmont, propped up by several friends.

‘He has zero concern with what Pax does or doesn’t do. [Pax’s] actions reflect who he is,’ the insider said. 

The renowned Macy’s “shopping bag” billboard, a staple of Herald Square’s skyline for over six decades, is set to be dismantled and taken down this weekend, according to information obtained by The Post.

This towering red-and-white advertisement, nestled into the corner of the flagship store at Broadway and West 34th Street, rises above a 2,200-square-foot retail area owned by Kaufman Realty. This space has long been occupied by a Sunglass Hut store under lease agreements.

Discussions regarding the future of this prime advertising spot have been ongoing between Macy’s and Kaufman Realty, as shared by a source familiar with the talks. Although details remain under wraps, it has been indicated that the space will undergo a “modernization,” suggesting a possible transformation or upgrade of the billboard.

This change aligns with a trend observed in the advertising landscape, where vibrant, LED-lit billboards, akin to those dominating Times Square, are attracting higher advertising revenues, as noted by real estate experts.

While Macy’s has confirmed the billboard’s removal slated for this weekend, they have refrained from commenting on what might take its place or whether they will attempt to retain the advertising space moving forward.

“As the neighborhood continues to evolve, the current sign – while beloved – is outdated and will be removed as part of broader updates by the billboard owner to modernize the space,” Macy’s said in a statement to The Post.

The company also said it will “soon announce refreshed and dynamic branding for Macy’s Herald Square that honors our heritage while reflecting the future of our flagship.”

Kaufman’s chief executive Edward Hart told The Post he was out of town on Friday and declined to comment.

Macy’s sued Kaufman in 2021 over the billboard, alleging that the real estate firm was planning to lease the space to online retail rival Amazon after the Macy’s lease expired.

“To the naked eye, the Billboard is on Macy’s department store and in its own right iconic,” according to Macy’s complaint.

Macy’s argued that an agreement it signed with the building’s owner in 1963 prevents the landlord from leasing the billboard to a competitor of Macy’s – a prohibition that lasts “forever,” according to the lawsuit.

Kaufman allegedly disagreed with Macy’s interpretation of the agreement, according to the lawsuit.

The real estate firm’s lawyer allegedly said that Kaufman has “the right to license the sign space to any off-site advertisers” and will “proceed with alternative advertisers,” according to Macy’s complaint.

The companies appear to have settled that lawsuit.

“I was fearing for my life,” recounted Jheyco Borda, a Marine veteran who found himself in a harrowing encounter with a group of teenagers. The incident, caught on surveillance footage, unfolded in Oxon Hill, Maryland, where Borda bravely defended himself against the group, one of whom had allegedly aimed a gun at his face.

The video captures the tense moments as Borda, exhibiting quick reflexes and courage, tackled the armed teen to the ground. The confrontation occurred on a Wednesday afternoon, culminating in a gunshot heard towards the end of the footage, underscoring the danger of the situation.

In an interview with News Media, Borda described the terrifying encounter. “I was just fixing my car—a normal day for me,” he shared, recalling how the teens suddenly approached him. “The guy took a pistol up to my head and started asking me for the car keys, phone, everything, all the valuables basically that I had.”

Borda said a total of six teens attacked him, four of them were male and two of them female.

During the scuffle, he said, the teen’s gun went off with the gunshot fired through the back of his truck. Miraculously, no one was hit.

As for how he was able to stop the attack before things got more violent, he said, “I just got prepared and adrenaline kicked in and some training.”

Borda served in the Marine Corps and credits his combat training for saving his life.

He said his brother also stepped in to stop the attack by confronting the teens, which was also seen on that video.

Borda said this is not the first time a crime like this happened on his street. He said two years ago a group of teens or possibly young adults stole a vehicle — in the identical location.

“It was right where my car was as well,” he said.

Prince George’s County Police Department confirmed to News Media that two of the teens, both males, have been arrested and they are still investigating the involvement of the other four teens in relation to the crime.

The grieving parents of a 17-year-old girl, who was tragically killed while on her way to meet a groomer involved in her abuse, are speaking out as the final suspect in her murder approaches trial.

KayLee Dutton’s life was cut short on a desolate road near Cedar City, Utah, in January of last year, when a group of strangers unleashed 12 bullets into her red pickup truck.

Hit seven times, KayLee lost control of her vehicle, crashing into a fence. She succumbed to her injuries later that night at Cedar City Hospital.

Authorities charged four men with pursuing and fatally shooting KayLee. These individuals were unknown to her and allegedly mistook her for someone stalking them.

As the last suspect in her case is set to stand trial this summer, KayLee’s mother, Kimberlee, has shared the poignant final words her daughter penned to her.

‘I got a text from her at 9:45 that night, saying, “Just checking in”,’ Kimberlee told KSL-TV in an interview earlier this week.

Less than an hour later, Kimberlee received a panicked call from the teen’s best friend telling her that KayLee was being taken away in an ambulance.

Kimberlee and her husband Waylon rushed to the crash site and found the truck in a wooded area, smashed through a fence.

Waylon was in a state of shock and disbelief, while his wife says she was so overwhelmed by grief that she collapsed to the ground.

‘I just remember falling to the dirt and begging God, “Please don’t take my baby. Not my baby”,’ Kimberlee recalled.

Seventeen months later, the Duttons say the pain of losing their daughter has not even begun to ease.

The couple, hailing her as a ‘wild child’ and ‘daredevil,’ remember how she loved being outdoors, bull riding and dirt biking. 

Four men, all of whom were roommates, were arrested and charged in connection to KayLee’s killing.

Ethan Andrew Galloway, the shooter, and Michael Hess-Witucki, the driver, were both sentenced to 15 years to life after pleading guilty to killing her.

The pair believed she had been stalking them, court documents state.

Galloway and Hess-Witucki saw KayLee’s car at their home block and chased after it in a black 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, flashing their high beam headlights.

KayLee and her 18-year-old friend saw the pickup truck pursuing them and drove almost six miles north and then west out of town.

Hess-Witucki then pulled alongside them and Galloway sprayed the car with bullets.

KayLee’s friend survived with only a leg injury and called 911 at around 10.32pm. Dispatch audio indicates that first responders arrived at the scene 20 minutes later.

A local SWAT team arrested Galloway and Hess-Witucki outside their home at about 5.45pm the following day.

Their roommates Aldric Felipe and Matthew Sorber-Petrie were also taken into custody.

Felipe last year pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and possession or transfer of a firearm by a restricted person charges. He was sentenced to three years probation.

Sorber-Petrie is expected to stand trial on murder and multiple firearm charges this summer. He has pleaded not guilty.

Although he stayed behind on the night of the attack, prosecutors allege that he had knowledge of his friends’ plan to chase and gun down KayLee’s truck. 

He is also accused of supplying the AR-15 gun used in the killing.

KayLee was shot while driving near the home of Justin Driffill, a 27-year-old man who was convicted of sexually abusing her.

He was arrested in October 2024 and pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a 16-17-year-old in July last year. A judge sentenced him to one year behind bars.

Driffill was not charged in connection to Dutton’s death. 

Kimberlee previously told KTVK that she believed that her daughter might still be alive today if the relationship with Driffill had never started.

‘If it weren’t for that, I just, we all just truly believe that she wouldn’t have been in that neighborhood that night, and she would still be here,’ she said. 

She also said she believed that KayLee had been in love with him.
