Ex-Police Chief’s Sudden Condo Move Sparks Buzz Amid Rumored Affair Scandal

0

A former Minneapolis Police chief, embroiled in scandal, was seen clearing out his condo amidst allegations of infidelity. Brian O’Hara, 46, is accused of having extramarital affairs with three women, prompting his hurried departure.

On Wednesday morning, O’Hara was observed hastily loading a U-Haul truck, according to a source who spoke with Liz Collin, a senior reporter for Alpha News. The source noted that O’Hara seemed eager to leave quickly.

Sporting a green V-neck t-shirt, jeans, black Nike high-top sneakers, and glasses, O’Hara was seen next to the truck, occasionally glancing at his phone. His appearance highlighted the casual nature of this abrupt move.

O’Hara had announced his resignation the previous day, expressing through his attorney that he felt honored to have served Minneapolis. He also conveyed his eagerness to reunite with his young family in New Jersey.

O’Hara is married to Lieutenant Wafiyyah O’Hara of the Newark Police Department, who is also 46. The couple shares two sons and resides in a nearly $1 million home in the upscale suburb of Mountainside, New Jersey.

It was earlier revealed that the officer, who took his post in Minnesota in November 2022, allegedly had a sexual relationship with three women on the force, a report by The Minnesota Star Tribune claimed.

An investigation into the former chief started in April 2025 after a formal complaint was filed, accusing him of being involved with the women and creating a hostile work environment at the Minnesota Police Department (MPD), sources with knowledge of the grievance told the outlet.

The complaint, which was filed by a recently retired MPD employee, also alleged that O’Hara once threatened ‘to punch’ former interim Police Chief Amelia Huffman after being annoyed by her at a meeting, the publication reported.

The women the disgraced officer is accused of being sexually involved with ranged from subordinates who were in training to a high-ranking supervisor, the complaint stated, per The Tribune.

After the complaint was filed, the city called on a local law firm, Forsgren Fisher McCalmont DeMarea Tysver, to look into the allegations.

As the firm did so, they called in a number of both current and retired MPD supervisors for interviews, and also spoke to the three women, who all denied any sexual contact with O’Hara, people close to the investigation said, according to the publication.

During the probe by the city-appointed lawyers, a second complaint came in against MPD officer Abdisamad Ahmed, who was described by the outlet as O’Hara’s ‘longtime driver.’

That formal notice accused Ahmed of trying to ‘intimidate’ the three women before their interviews, but he denied that claim when he sat down with lawyers, the Tribune revealed.

In July 2025, Forsgren Fisher submitted a report that stated there was not enough evidence to support the allegation brought against O’Hara. The complaint was closed by the Office of Community Safety and no disciplinary actions were taken, the report stated.

He later told attorneys that he was joking, but did not argue that it was his voice on the recording, The Tribune stated. Ahmed continues to serve as a police officer for the agency.

Despite new evidence coming to light, the law firm again determined that it could not ‘substantiate the allegations that Chief O’Hara had a sexually intimate relationship with any City employee,’ the report stated.

After hearing that investigators found that he had interfered with the investigation, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey told O’Hara he would be disciplined, which could result in his termination.

Instead, O’Hara chose to resign, Frey stated.

‘It was an extremely painful decision, obviously, but I concluded that that was necessary to maintain public trust, and this was the right way to move forward as a city,’ Frey said.

‘Trust is not secondary to the job. It is the job,’ he added.

Despite the allegations made against him, O’Hara and his wife appear to be happily married.

He shared a photograph of himself and Wafiyyah beaming during a vacation in New York City in the summer of 2025.

Writing on his LinkedIn page, O’Hara said the trip was for his wife’s birthday. ‘Happy Birthday, Wafiyyah!!!’ the chief wrote. ‘Grateful for you every day’. In the same post, he admitted he had earlier forgotten it was her birthday.

When contacted by the Daily Mail for comment, a spokesperson for the MPD shared a statement from Commissioner Toddrick Barnette with the Office of Community Safety of the City of Minneapolis.

O'Hara was brought on in November 2022 and tasked with overseeing an overhaul of the force following the killing of George Floyd

‘I want to thank Chief O’Hara for his service to the City of Minneapolis and for his commitment to public safety.

‘Chief O’Hara helped advance police reform efforts, replenish sworn staffing and guide the department through some of the city’s most challenging moments. We will continue moving forward — building trust in our police department through transparency, accountability, and collaboration with community member,’ Barnette said.

The Daily Mail contacted O’Hara and Forsgren Fisher McCalmont DeMarea Tysver for comment.

Open Heaven 29 May 2026 TOPIC – Don’t Remain In Bondage

MEMORISE: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. – Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

READ: Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 9-12

Open Heaven 29 May 2026 MESSAGE

Years ago, a young man heard me preach on the importance of surrendering all to God, then came to me saying, “Daddy, I have surrendered all to God now.” I smiled and responded, “Praise God! This means that we would be able to borrow your car because we want to go somewhere tomorrow for an assignment, and we had been wondering how we would transport ourselves.” He replied, “Ha! Tomorrow is Monday and I must go to work.” I said, “I know. We just want to borrow your car for one day.” He then said, “Ha!” I smiled and said, “My son, we don’t need your car. I just wanted you to know that you have not surrendered everything to God as you claimed.”

Sometimes, what keeps people in bondage is their attachment to material things. If Jesus sets a fellow free from satan and the bondage of sin, and the fellow still clings to the things of the world, he or she will remain in bondage even though Jesus has ‘unlocked his or her cell’. Galatians 5:1 urges you to stand fast in the freedom Jesus has given you so that you will not become entangled again with the yoke of bondage. To receive freedom, all you have to do is come to Jesus, but remaining free is a huge responsibility that requires you to stand fast in your liberty.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus encouraged everyone who is experiencing bondage to bring their burdens to Him so He can give them rest. It is important to understand that God doesn’t force liberty on people. This means that you must be willing to receive His freedom and stay in it. Anyone who loves the things of this world has chosen to remain in the devil’s captivity because the love of the Father will not be in the fellow. Such a person cannot walk in liberty and cannot abide with God forever (1 John 2:15-17).

Beloved, there is no benefit at all from associating with the devil. The riches that the devil promises those who serve him keeps them in bondage and actually robs them of their soul, which is far more valuable than all the wealth in the world (Mark 8:36-37). You must be willing to let go of anything that keeps you in chains and cry out to God for deliverance. If you are currently experiencing bondage in any part of your life, pray that the Lord will deliver you by His mighty power, in Jesus’ name.

Revitalize Your Core: 4 Bed Exercises That Outperform Planks for Those Over 60

A fitness expert reveals four bed-based exercises designed to enhance core strength and stability for individuals over 60.

As we age, weakness in the core muscles can significantly impact daily activities such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, and maintaining good posture. While many seniors turn to planks to fortify their core, this exercise often places excessive strain on the shoulders, wrists, and lower back, leading to discomfort. This discomfort can shorten exercise sessions and impede consistency, ultimately hindering long-term progress.

Bed exercises provide a more accessible method for safely and effectively rebuilding core strength. The bed’s soft surface supports the spine, enabling the abdominal muscles, hips, and lower back to engage in controlled movements that enhance stability and coordination. These exercises differ from traditional planks by focusing on dynamic core strengthening rather than static holds, fostering practical strength that seamlessly integrates into daily movements without overburdening the joints.

The following four exercises engage deep abdominal muscles while enhancing posture, pelvic control, and trunk stability. Each movement targets the core from a distinct angle, offering a gentle yet effective routine suitable for daily practice. Consistently performing these exercises will result in a stronger, more stable midsection, providing greater support for everyday activities.

The four exercises below activate the deep abdominal muscles while improving posture, pelvic control, and trunk stability. Each movement challenges the core from a different angle while remaining gentle enough for consistent daily practice. Stick with these exercises and your midsection will feel stronger, steadier, and more supportive during everyday activity.

Bed Dead Bugs

Dead bugs rebuild deep core stability better than many advanced abdominal exercises because they force the trunk to resist movement while the arms and legs work independently. Many adults over 60 struggle with lower-back tightness and poor posture because the deep abdominal muscles stop activating properly during movement. This exercise restores that control while keeping the spine supported against the bed. The slow alternating motion strengthens coordination between the upper and lower body while teaching the abs to brace naturally. Unlike planks that often create neck tension and shoulder fatigue, dead bugs allow focused core engagement without unnecessary strain. Performed with control, this movement quickly improves trunk stability and lower-body coordination.

How to Do It

  • Lie on your back on the bed
  • Raise your knees to 90 degrees
  • Extend your arms toward the ceiling
  • Tighten your core gently
  • Lower one arm and the opposite leg slowly
  • Keep your lower back stable
  • Return to the starting position
  • Alternate sides for 10 repetitions per side

Glute Bridge Holds

Strong glutes and a strong core work together during nearly every daily movement. When the hips weaken, the lower back and stomach area lose stability and posture starts collapsing forward. Glute bridge holds strengthen the backside while forcing the core to stabilize continuously during the lifted position. The bed creates a comfortable setup that reduces joint pressure while still allowing strong muscular contractions through the hips and abdominals. Adults over 60 often notice improved balance and easier standing movement after adding bridge holds consistently. The longer the body maintains tension during the hold, the more the deep core muscles activate to support the spine.

How to Do It

  • Lie on your back with knees bent
  • Keep your feet flat on the bed
  • Press through your heels
  • Lift your hips upward
  • Tighten your glutes and core
  • Hold the top position for 10 to 20 seconds
  • Lower slowly with control
  • Repeat for 5 to 8 rounds.

Bedside Toe Taps

Toe taps strengthen the lower abdominal muscles while improving pelvic control and coordination. Many adults lose lower-core strength because traditional ab exercises encourage momentum instead of controlled movement. This exercise forces the deep stabilizers to stay active while the legs move independently. The gentle tapping motion challenges the abs without placing pressure on the neck, shoulders, or lower back. Because the movement stays slow and controlled, the muscles surrounding the spine remain engaged the entire time. Consistent practice helps improve walking stability, posture, and lower-body control during everyday movement.

How to Do It

  • Lie on your back with knees bent at 90 degrees
  • Tighten your core gently
  • Keep your lower back stable
  • Lower one foot toward the bed slowly
  • Tap the toes lightly
  • Return to the starting position
  • Alternate sides continuously
  • Perform 10 to 12 repetitions per leg.

Side-Lying Core Crunches

Side-lying core crunches target the obliques and deep trunk stabilizers that support balance and spinal control. Many adults focus only on front-facing abdominal exercises while ignoring the muscles responsible for side-to-side stability. Weak obliques often contribute to poor posture, reduced balance, and slower walking mechanics after 60. This movement strengthens the waistline while improving coordination through the hips and trunk. The side-lying position also removes unnecessary strain from the neck and lower back, making the exercise far more comfortable than traditional floor crunches or extended plank holds. Slow repetition creates excellent muscular tension without requiring aggressive movement.

How to Do It

  • Lie on one side with knees slightly bent
  • Place one hand behind your head
  • Tighten your core gently
  • Lift your shoulders slightly upward
  • Squeeze through your side abdominal muscles
  • Lower slowly with control
  • Keep the movement smooth
  • Complete 10 to 12 repetitions per side.

Explosion and Fire Erupt in Dallas Apartment Building, Injuring Four and Filling Sky with Smoke

Authorities have confirmed that at least four individuals sustained injuries following an explosion and subsequent fire at an apartment complex in Dallas.

The incident unfolded around 1:20 p.m. at a two-story apartment building located in the Oak Cliff neighborhood, as reported by Fox 4. The situation prompted a response from nearly 100 firefighters who rushed to the scene to manage the blaze.

In a related incident, a separate explosion at a Louisville factory resulted in two fatalities and left several others injured, according to a company statement.

The Dallas apartment fire on Thursday stemmed from an explosion that left at least four people injured. According to KDFW, one of the victims was transported to a hospital, although details regarding the severity of their injuries remain unknown at this time.

Several victims were reported, the news outlet said. One person was taken to a hospital, but the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.

Sources told FOX 4 that fire crews were en route to the location to investigate reports of a gas leak when the explosion happened.

People in the area reported hearing an explosion before the fire, but the exact cause of the blaze was unknown. In addition, windows on neighboring buildings appeared to be blown out and debris was scattered across the street.

There also appeared to be a utility truck that was affected by the fire, the news station reported.

It was not clear how many people were in the building at the time.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Dallas Fire-Rescue. A large plume of black smoke could be seen above the fire.

Breaking: Israel Launches Second Airstrike on Southern Beirut Amid Fragile Ceasefire

0

In brief

  • A Lebanese military source says an Israeli strike in Beirut killed three people and wounded 15.
  • Israel has also declared all areas south of Lebanon’s Zahrani River “combat zones”.

On Thursday, Israeli forces expanded their military campaign by launching strikes on southern Lebanon and targeting areas near Beirut, marking the first assault close to the Lebanese capital in several weeks, despite an uneasy ceasefire.

According to a Lebanese military official, an airstrike hit an apartment south of Beirut. This incident is the second raid of its kind since a ceasefire between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah was established on April 17, following the outbreak of hostilities in early March. The Lebanese health ministry reported that the attack resulted in three fatalities, including a woman and two children, and left 15 others injured.

Israel’s military confirmed that it had conducted a “precise strike” in Beirut, although it did not specify the exact target of the operation.

In southern Lebanon, Israel intensified its offensive, leading to at least 11 deaths, including two children, and injuries to 21 more individuals, as confirmed by the Lebanese health ministry.

The Lebanese military also reported that a soldier was killed in a separate attack by Israel while he was driving in the Nabatieh region.

The strikes come as Lebanon and Israel prepare for a fourth round of talks brokered by the United States next week.

A ceasefire between Israel and the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah was supposed to have taken effect on 17 April but has never been observed.

Both sides accuse each other of violating it and justify their attacks by the other camp’s alleged breaches of the truce.

‘Highest level’ of projectiles fired since ceasefire

Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres, expressed concern and called on both sides to respect the ceasefire.

The UNIFIL peacekeeping force in Lebanon said that “Wednesday saw around 670 projectiles fired — the highest level since 17 April”.

Lebanon was dragged into the wider Middle East war in early March when Hezbollah launched rocket attacks on Israel in retaliation for the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, prompting Israeli strikes and a ground invasion.

The Israeli military on Wednesday local time declared all areas south of Lebanon’s Zahrani River, an area roughly 40 kilometres from the border, “combat zones” and told residents to evacuate ahead of attacks against Hezbollah.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported Israeli strikes on multiple south Lebanon locations, some of them deadly, including successive raids on the city of Nabatieh, one of which it said destroyed a mosque.

An AFP photographer saw fire and a thick plume of smoke rising at dawn and heard bombardment after a strike on a building in Tyre.

Ghazouane Halawani, a resident living near a building hit by a strike, told AFP that he believed Israel wanted to attack the ancient city’s “history and its civilisation”.

“We’re staying here. This is our country, our land, our life,” he added.

Legacy Media Reacts to Trump’s Image on America 250 Currency; Bessent Offers Clarification

0

At Thursday’s White House press briefing, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent took center stage with his engaging and informative approach, effectively conveying the administration’s key messages of the day while also sharing a few laughs with the press corps.

In his presentation, Bessent discussed various topics, including the introduction of the Trump Accounts app, the prospects of a new Iran Deal, and further insights into the anti-weaponization fund. As he concluded his remarks, he invited questions from journalists, with one topic in particular sparking significant interest. Congress is reportedly considering a change in currency law to allow the issuance of a $250 bill featuring President Donald Trump’s likeness. Currently, U.S. law prohibits the depiction of any living person, including presidents, on the nation’s currency.

Fox News Senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy inquired about the timeline for when Americans might see Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s signature alongside President Trump’s image on such a bill. Bessent responded, shedding light on details that an “exclusive” Washington Post article had tucked away in its coverage.

WATCH:

Bessent clarified two important points: first, current regulations prohibit living individuals from being portrayed on currency, and second, all U.S. currency must include the phrase, “In God We Trust.”

BREAKING: Secretary Scott Bessent reveals the Treasury Department is actively preparing for a historic $250 bill featuring President Trump, pending proposed legislation from Congress that would allow a living person to appear on U.S. currency:

“I have two mandates for U.S. currency, at present, no living person can be on U.S. currency, and the currency must say, ‘In God we trust.’”

“So right now there is proposed legislation, in front of the House and in front of the Senate to change the first requirement so that a living person, Donald J. Trump, could be on the $250 bill.”

“At Treasury we prepare things in advance. So we have prepared in advance that if the legislation is passed, but we will stick to the law.”

Bessent was clear: 1) No living person can appear on currency; 2) Currency must say, “In God We Trust.”

Bessent further clarified that it is the legislative body that will make the decision to change the mandate about living persons appearing on currency, and not the Treasury. If Congress wishes to alter the law to allow a living person to appear on new bills, then it will be done. Bessent drove home that his only job as Treasury Secretary is to be prepared for this possibility, should it happen.

You would think this would have adequately answered the matter, but legacy media’s gonna legacy. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, who apparently likes being the topic of failure theater when it comes to the press briefings, asked of Bessent: “Do you think it’s politically, it’s a good idea to put his face on a $250 bill when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries?”

CNN Reporter’s Story About Karoline Leavitt Blows Up That Whole ‘Fascist Trump Admin’ Narrative

Talk about a non sequitur. An issuance of a denomination of currency, particularly for commemorative purposes, has little to do one way or the other with people’s economic state. Their state won’t change much whether this commemorative currency is issued or not. Ergo, Collins has no point except to find a bone of contention with Trump’s face being on currency at all.

As Bessent does so well, he patiently restated what he said to Fox News’ Doocy just a few minutes ago. “It’s up to the Congress if the president’s face is on the $250 bill…”

Here’s a transcript with Collins’ interruption and Bessent’s answer:

COLLINS: But it is actually The Washington Post that is reporting that it is two political appointees from the Treasury Department who have asked agencies to be ready. Do you think it’s politically, it’s a good idea to put his face on a $250 dollar bill when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries…

BESSENT: I don’t really understand this Washington Post article. Terribly written, terribly edited. What it says is: Treasury is following the law, and that we’ve created the bill, and that it’s up to Congress, I really didn’t understand what the story was.

COLLINS: Are you saying you’re not involved in that, two of your own political appointees?

BESSENT: Yeah, of course, but we prepare for everything if it gets passed. Just like we were ready six months in advance for the One Big Beautiful Bill for tax guidance. So, we have to prepare in advance. You can’t draw something up the day before.

Collins was desperate for her soundbite, and pressed the same ridiculous question again.

COLLINS: Politically, do you don’t think it’s a good idea when people are struggling to afford gas and groceries?

BESSENT: I think that it’s bifurcated. Do you think we should have a 250th Anniversary celebration?

Collins tried to brush his Socratic redirect off by quickly saying, “Well, that’s happening anyway, but putting the president’s face on a $250 bill — “

Collins failed to realize she had stepped cleanly into Bessent’s rhetorical trap, and he snapped it shut.

BESSENT: No, no, no, Kaitlan, it’s not happening anyway. It’s happening because it’s being funded via, by private citizens, by the federal government, by state governments, by municipal governments, to celebrate our country. And I don’t think that there is anything untoward about having the President of the United States, the person who was President of the United States on the 250th Anniversary bill.

WATCH:

Collins and her meager viewership are really not concerned about the price of gas and groceries, nor does she care about celebrating America or the money being spent on these celebrations. Her issue is that Trump’s face will be a prominent historical marker of America 250, and will have a permanent place in United States history. Collins’ outlet CNN, and their legacy media cohorts, did all they could to try and ensure Trump would not be in office to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary. I shudder to think how things would look if they had succeeded.

Thank God, they didn’t. Now we not only have epic celebrations planned, but we also may have a new piece of Americana that bears Trump’s image, and marks this Golden Age that he has been instrumental in bringing about.

Cry more, legacy media.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.

Couple Caught Living in Rented Airbnb, Accused of Theft

Reported by Staff

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have apprehended Taylor Rose Marie Brown, 28, and John Lee Stephens Jr., 38, on accusations of unlawfully entering an Airbnb, residing there for several days, and committing theft. Court records in Alachua County list Brown under the alias Taylor Rose Marie.

On May 27, officers from the Gainesville Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of NE 7th Street. A witness informed them about observing a man and a woman exiting the Airbnb. The woman, clad only in a towel, reportedly walked up the street and attempted to hand the witness a spray bottle retrieved from the trash. The witness contacted the police due to the peculiar behavior and lack of a vehicle.

Upon arrival, the officer discovered Stephens inside the property. Stephens claimed he was there visiting his wife, who had purportedly gone grocery shopping at Publix and would return shortly. However, Stephens could not provide any proof of authorization to be inside the Airbnb.

The officer noted signs of forced entry through a dog door at the back of the house. Male clothing was scattered in the backyard, left out to dry. Inside, officers reportedly found Stephens’ debit and credit cards in a bedroom. It was observed that lightbulbs had been removed, meals were prepared, and the occupants appeared to have settled in comfortably. Several lightbulbs were allegedly found stored in a backpack within the residence.

A person who cleans the home for the owner of the Airbnb arrived while the officer was there, and that person said that two closet doors had previously been bolted shut, but they had now been pried open; it also looked like cleaning items had been taken. That person estimated the damage to the doors, locks, and dog door at about $250.

The officer also noted that there was a Publix electric shopping cart in the back yard, and the manager of the Main Street Publix said the scooter was valued at about $1,200.

The owner of the Airbnb reportedly provided doorbell camera videos that showed both Brown and Stephens entering the home.

About an hour later, the same officer found Brown in the 500 block of NE 16th Avenue; a search incident to arrest reportedly produced a glass pipe consistent with devices used to smoke narcotics.

Post Miranda, Brown reportedly said she lived at the Airbnb, had a key, and was given permission by “you” to stay there; she said she had been there since Sunday, and she invited Stephens inside to “clean himself” on Monday. She said they had sexual intercourse, and when they were done, she asked Stephens to leave, but he refused; she said she asked him to wash a pair of her pants, but she did not give Stephens permission to do his own laundry. She said she asked Stephens again to leave, and when he refused, she left.

When asked who had broken the dog door, Brown initially said it broke when she slammed a door, but she changed her story and said Stephens probably did it, but she didn’t know for sure. She reportedly said she broke the locks to the two closets, and she found a spray bottle in one of the closets and tried to trade it with the witness for a vase she saw on his property. She said she had cooked meals in the Airbnb and said the lightbulbs were hers. She denied knowing anything about the Publix scooter and said she used the glass pipe to smoke some “ice.”

Brown, whose listed address is in Massachusetts, has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She has three felony convictions (non-violent) and eight misdemeanor convictions (non-violent); she was arrested in January 2026 for refusing to leave a psychiatric hospital after she was discharged, and she was sentenced in February to 26 days in jail with credit for 26 days served. Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $32,000.

Stephens has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and grand theft. He has two felony convictions (including one sexual offense) and four misdemeanor convictions (three violent); he is a registered sexual offender and has served three state prison sentences, with his most recent release in 2022. He was arrested for false imprisonment and battery in 2023, but the charges were later dropped. Judge Rawls ordered him held without bail on the new charges, pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

Rhapsody Of Realities 29 May 2026: Grace, Mercy, And Peace

Rhapsody Of Realities 29 May 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Grace, Mercy, And Peace

TOPIC: Grace, Mercy, And Peace (Rhapsody of Realities 29 May 2026)

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ… (2 John 1:3).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

In several of the apostolic letters, the Spirit emphasizes a powerful benediction. For example, in some of Paul’s writings, he opens with the words, “grace, mercy, and peace, as in 1 Timothy 1:2, “…Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.” He repeats the same blessing in his second letter to Timothy and again to Titus.

The apostle John echoes it as well: “Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ…” (2 John 1:3). Why did the apostles consistently pronounce grace, mercy, and peace? It’s because of their profound importance in the Christian life.

The Scriptures reveal men and women who found grace in the sight of God. Noah, for example, found grace before the Lord even when judgment was determined upon the earth. Genesis 6:8 tells us, “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” Grace positioned him for preservation and victory. This shows that when grace locates a man, mercy follows.

Grace, mercy and peace work together. Romans 5:1-2 connects our peace with God to the grace of Jesus Christ in which we stand: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand….”

When you find grace in God’s sight, He becomes merciful toward you. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Grace is divine favour extended to you. It’s God’s work upon a person’s life.

In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word is “chen” and it means God’s gracious favour. Through that grace, through that act of divine favour, He exerts His influence upon your life to see to it that you succeed. His grace works upon your mind, helping you to think the right thoughts. It influences your heart and guides you to make the right decisions, beyond your natural ability or human intelligence.

Grace covers you, shields you, protects you, and keeps you from grave errors. Walk in this consciousness. You’re not left to your human ingenuity and ability alone; the influence of heaven is upon your life, directing your steps and causing you to produce results that exceed natural capacity. This is the life God has given you in Christ.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your abundant grace, mercy, and peace at work in my life. Your divine influence guides my thoughts, decisions and actions, leading me in the path of success and righteousness, established in victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Majority of Californians Support New Tax Plan Targeting Billionaires

0

More than half of prospective voters in California are in favor of a proposed wealth tax targeting billionaires, despite ongoing debates about its economic impact on the state. This initiative has sparked discussions around its potential benefits and drawbacks.

According to a survey conducted by the Public Policy Institute of California, 54% of likely voters support the tax plan. This proposal aims to introduce a one-time 5% tax on residents whose assets surpass $1 billion. Backed by labor unions, the measure is gathering momentum, with proponents claiming they have secured enough signatures to bring the issue to the ballot this November.

The survey, which took place from May 14 to 18, included responses from 986 likely voters. The results highlighted significant partisan differences in opinion. Among Democrats, a strong 76% expressed support for the tax, while a substantial 82% of Republicans opposed it. Independent voters presented a more divided stance, with 53% leaning in favor of the measure.

Income levels also played a role in shaping opinions. Voters earning less than $100,000 per year showed clear support for the tax. In contrast, those with higher incomes were more divided, with only 52% indicating they would vote ‘yes.’ This split underscores the complex dynamics at play in the ongoing debate over wealth taxation in California.

When the survey looked at voters’ income, those making making less than $100,000 decisively were in favor of the tax, but higher-income voters were more split. Just 52% of such voters said they would vote ‘yes.’

While renters favored the tax 71% to 27%, home-owning Californians saw a nearly 50-50 split in their stances on the issue.

Support was stronger in urban areas like Los Angeles than in the Central Valley, where 56% of likely voters said they would vote ‘no.’

Business groups and other opponents, including Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), have warned the state’s economy would be devastated by such a tax with CEOs fleeing the state alongside potential jobs. More than 108,000 jobs could be lost if the tax goes into effect, one analysis concluded, and $28 billion worth of wages would also be lost in California.

Unions insist the tax is needed to help California grapple with federal funding cuts and changes to the state’s health care and other systems.

But a paper released Wednesday by the Hoover Institution disputed claims by supporters that the tax would address a “$19 billion-per-year budget hole” caused by Washington. California had a spending problem with its Medicaid program that predated the federal cuts, researchers said.

“Costly spending increases reflect Sacramento’s inability to control a program it expanded through its own policy choices. A wealth tax doesn’t fix this spending problem; it just delays the reckoning,” said Joshua D. Rauh, an economics fellow at Hoover.

Still, supporters are doubling down on using the impending health care cuts to campaign for the tax. They pointed Thursday to a report that California’s uninsured population could double from the cuts and federal Medicaid work rules.

“California is heading toward a healthcare affordability and accessibility crisis,” said Debru Carthan, executive vice president of SEIU-UHW, one of the lead unions behind the tax proposal.

“Because of massive federal healthcare cuts, millions of Californians will lose coverage and hospitals will be forced to close their doors forever, unless billionaires finally pay their fair share.”

Already, a number of the ultrawealthy have announced they’ve left California. Some, like Google co-founder Sergey Brin, are pouring money into competing ballot initiatives.

Joe Rogan Critiques Trump’s Ambitious UFC Proposal for the White House

0

In an unexpected twist, Joe Rogan has voiced his concerns over a UFC event planned to take place next month right outside the White House. This revelation came during a candid exchange on Wednesday.

Rogan, a seasoned commentator in the world of mixed martial arts, expressed his apprehension about the event primarily due to its outdoor setting. Sharing his thoughts with guests Josh Thomson, a former UFC competitor, and John McCarthy, a retired referee, Rogan stated, “I don’t like the idea of fighting outside at all.”

He highlighted potential issues that could arise, such as the presence of insects and the intense summer heat that could affect the fighters’ performance and safety.

Adding another layer to the discussion, the event is being organized by former President Donald Trump. Interestingly, Rogan’s opinion of Trump has cooled in recent times, which may further influence his stance on the upcoming fights.

The fights are being hosted by Donald Trump, a figure Rogan has soured on recently.

‘In June, in DC, we looked it up last year – the same day was 100 degrees. Hot as f*ck. How about dehydration,’ Rogan began.

Thompson pointed out how large stage lights being stationed on the South Lawn were sure to attract insects.

‘The bugs are a big one,’ Rogan agreed. ‘How the f*ck are they going to do anything about the bugs?’

‘You’re gonna get bug strips everywhere? What are you going to do?’ he went on.

‘I just don’t think you should compete in a world championship fight in a non-controlled environment.’

Rogan – a former Trump supporter – said he found the whole concept ‘odd.’

‘It should be inside an air-conditioned arena. It should be a controlled environment,’ he said.

‘Just like you wouldn’t ask them to play a world championship basketball game outside in the sun. That would be crazy. You have to- you play in a f*cking air-conditioned arena and that’s how it should be.

‘Build a f*cking roof,’ he concluded.

As of writing, no such plans have been drawn up.

Rogan has been a play-by-play commentator for the UFC since 2002 and joined the company as an interviewer in 1997.

He recently soured on the president over his approach to immigration and foreign policy, after offering a last-minute endorsement and air-time on his popular podcast back in 2024.

Trump’s use of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the US military have both surfaced as sticking points.

In March of last year, Rogan reacted with rage to reports of innocent people being mistakenly rounded up and thrown into maximum security prisons in El Salvador.

In January, as Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota escalated, Rogan compared ICE agents’ tactics to those of ‘the Gestapo’.

The month before, Rogan told comedian Shane Gillis any type of war ‘would be a terrible idea’. The conversation occurred just before the US’s invasion of Venezuela.

Earlier this year, after the US’s initial strikes on Iran on February 28, Rogan called Trump’s military aspirations in the region ‘insane’.

He maintained Trump supporters should ‘feel betrayed’. Trump, 79, campaigned on an ‘America First’ foreign policy. Rogan is a self-professed libertarian whom many see as a centrist.

UFC Freedom 250, as it is being called, is slated for Sunday, June 14. The event’s name is a reference to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
