Heidi Montag took a pause from supporting her husband Spencer Pratt’s run for mayor to enjoy a meal with a friend on Friday.

The possible future First Lady of Los Angeles, 39, was seen having breakfast at Jeannine’s Restaurant & Bakery, located in the upscale celebrity haven of Montecito.

After her meal with a companion, Montag packed her leftovers and returned to her vehicle.

The “I’ll Do It” singer stepped out without makeup, opting for a casual look in a long-sleeved shirt and grey sweatpants.

While Pratt focuses on his mayoral ambitions, Montag has been preparing for her upcoming performance at the Neon Skies Festival in Canada.

She will perform alongside fellow pop divas Kesha and Slayyyter on July 18 in Edmonton, Alberta.

It comes after Pratt shut down allegations that his bid for Los Angeles mayor is being filmed for a reality TV show.

The former MTV star, 42, is currently running against rivals Mayor Karen Bass, Councilwoman Nithya Raman, and progressive Christian minister Rae Huang.

TMZ and Deadline claimed that The Hills alum had signed up for an unscripted series to document his campaign for mayor.

Pratt announced he was running for the position in January, one year after his Pacific Palisades home burned down in the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.

However, a spokesperson for Pratt shut down the allegations in a statement to The Wrap on Thursday.

‘This is inaccurate. There is no series in production and cameras have not been following the campaign.’

The spokesperson further stated that Pratt has not signed any contract to film a reality show that follows his run for L.A. mayor.

‘He does not have any signed contract. No contract exists related to this because it isn’t true.’

Pratt also responded to a report that he has been living in a Bel-Air hotel amid his campaign after previously claiming he had been residing inside a trailer after his home burned down last year.

TMZ reported on Wednesday that the star was staying at Hotel Bel-Air while his wife and children are living in the town of Carpinteria.

Pratt offered his response on X by penning, ‘Hey guys, why don’t they wanna talk about why I need a hotel in the first place?

‘Karen Bass let my home burn down. Also 6,000 of my neighbors. NBD.’

The former reality star also told TMZ that he has been living at the hotel for safety reasons after receiving death threats amid his bid for mayor.

The trailer was not able to keep him safe and he explained the hotel has ‘its own armed security and that has become the only option.’

He referred to the supporters of his rivals as ‘Bassholes and Ramaniacs’ before sharing he has gotten death threats from ‘whackos.’

‘Since I destroyed them in the debate, and am surging in the polls, they are getting increasingly desperate and hostile. I can’t talk about specific threats, but that lot is unsafe now.’ 

Earlier this month, Pratt took part in a debate alongside Bass and Raman which resulted in his chances of winning surging afterwards.

And he has also received support from his close friends and other celebrities, including reality star Kristin Cavallari, music producer David Foster, comedian Heather McDonald, and Paris Hilton.

Two individuals find themselves in custody following an investigation into a fraud scheme involving counterfeit USPS money orders in Madison County, Alabama. The local sheriff’s department unraveled the fraudulent activity after receiving a complaint from Redstone Federal Credit Union on April 23.

The complaint centered around a member, identified as Tylasia Scott, who had reportedly turned in seven USPS money orders across several branches throughout Madison County. The transactions led to Scott unlawfully obtaining nearly $7,000. Subsequent verification revealed these money orders were fraudulent.

As the investigation unfolded, Tylasia Scott was apprehended and now faces seven charges of possessing a forged instrument in the second degree. The situation captured the attention of a USPIS Special Agent from Birmingham, who joined forces with local investigators to delve deeper into the case, with an eye on identifying any additional conspirators involved in the scheme.

Following the investigation, Tylasia Scott was arrested and charged with seven counts of Possession of a forged instrument, second degree.

Due to the rapidly developing nature of the case and the potential for additional suspects, a USPIS Special Agent based in Birmingham coordinated with investigators and assisted in the ongoing investigation.

MCSO said that their agency was granted a search warrant to search a residence located in the 100 block of Baxter Avenue in Huntsville. While searching the home, detectives located additional fraudulent USPS money orders, identity documents, credit and debit cards, narcotics, firearms, and USPS property.

According to MCSO, a man identified as Kenneth Belt was at the home during the time of the search warrant. He was arrested and charged with eight counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument, Second Degree.

Both were transported and booked into the Madison County Jail.

“Financial crimes like these not only target businesses and financial institutions, but they also undermine trust within our communities. I’m proud of the work our Criminal Investigation Division has done alongside the United States Postal Inspection Service to quickly identify those responsible and remove additional illegal activity from our streets. This investigation is far from over, and we fully expect additional arrests and charges as detectives continue following the evidence.”

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, in partnership with the United States Postal Inspection Service, is actively investigating the incident.

A fiery explosion rocked a lumber mill in Searsmont, Maine, on Friday, prompting an ongoing investigation by authorities.

Details regarding the number of injuries or fatalities have not been disclosed by officials as of now.

The Camden Fire & Rescue team confirmed their involvement, stating that they have dispatched a crew to assist with the incident.

“Our thoughts are with the injured, the medical professionals providing care, and the first responders working diligently to manage the situation,” the department expressed in a Facebook statement. “We expect our team to be engaged in support efforts for several days.”

Local news outlets, including WABI, have reported multiple injuries stemming from the explosion.

Ben Hamel, the mill’s purchasing manager, told the Bangor Daily News that the fire started in an area where wood shavings are packaged. The fire then spread to a nearby dust silo, which exploded.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.

A trooper at the scene told bystanders there is a “major fuel leak” and urged them to move away from the area, according to the outlet.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills posted on X noting she has been briefed on the unfolding situation.

“I urge folks to stay clear of the area, follow the instructions of law enforcement, and allow emergency personnel to respond,” Mills wrote in a statement on X. “I ask Maine people to join me in keeping all those affected in their thoughts.”

Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, added he is “praying for the safety and well-being of first responders and everyone else on-site.”

“I’m aware of the fire and explosion in Searsmont,” Golden wrote in an X post. “I ask locals to follow law enforcement instructions, and to look to official channels and trusted sources for more information as it becomes available.”

Searsmont is a small rural town about one and a half hours northeast of Portland and about four hours north of Boston.

Maine State Police and the Augusta Fire Department did not immediately respond to additional inquiries from Fox News Digital.

David Hasselhoff, famed for his role in Baywatch, has stirred concerns over his health after being spotted in a wheelchair recently, following ongoing health challenges.

The 73-year-old actor, who gained global fame as the dashing Mitch Buchannon, appeared notably frail and almost unrecognizable while leaving a physical therapy session in Los Angeles.

Sporting silver hair, the star was also seen with a bandage on his ankle, a few weeks after undergoing knee and hip replacement surgeries.

His devoted wife, Hayley Roberts, 45, was by his side, attentively assisting him as he was escorted to a waiting vehicle.

Hasselhoff leaned on Roberts for support as he carefully got into the car.

The  Daily Mail learned that the actor’s health is improving after he underwent replacement surgery on his knee and hip.

A representative for Hasselhoff revealed he had undergone the procedures after he was seen using a wheelchair to get around Los Angeles airport. 

They added that he was now doing well and was focused on his recovery. 

Hasselhoff had told photographers in July that he was planning to have surgery on his knee when he was seen limping through Los Angeles airport on a trip to Cancun. He was later seen being pushed in a wheelchair by an airline worker.  

At the time, a source told the Daily Mail that the actor was ‘living on borrowed time’ after years of hard living.

Hasselhoff had struggled with alcohol abuse in the past, exemplified by the leak of a 2007 video apparently shot by his daughter Taylor Ann, in which he was clearly intoxicated.

She quizzed him about his drinking in the tense video and worried that it might harm his role in a Las Vegas production of The Producers that he had been appearing in at the time.

After the clip was released, Hasselhoff claimed that it had been done so intentionally by his daughter to reveal his behavior when he was drunk.

Hasselhoff’s nature walk came just over a year after the tragic death of his second wife and former Baywatch costar, Pamela Bach at the age of 62.

She was found dead at her home in March 2025 after taking her own life.

Bach was married to Hasselhoff from 1989 until their 2006 divorce and they were parents to daughters Taylor Hasselhoff-Fiore, 35, and 33-year-old Hayley Hasselhoff.

A spokesman for Hasselhoff exclusively told the Daily Mail at the time: ‘Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff.

‘We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.’

Although they starred together on Baywatch, Hasselhoff and Pamela met earlier, on the set of his science fiction series Knight Rider in 1986.

He was married to his costar Catherine Hickland at the time, before they divorced in 1989.

Hasselhoff and Bach reconnected that year when she was cast on Baywatch and they later married in 1989.

After his divorce, the actor began dating his wife Hayley – who is from Wales – in 2011 and they got married in Puglia, Italy, in 2018.

On Friday, Attorney General Wilson indicated that if Murdaugh is convicted again in a new trial, prosecutors might consider pursuing the death penalty. This follows the Supreme Court’s recent decision to nullify Murdaugh’s previous murder convictions.

Throughout the nation, flags were solemnly lowered to half-staff in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day, a tribute to the brave officers who have sacrificed their lives in service. This observance is part of Police Week, a time dedicated to honoring these fallen heroes and supporting their families, as emphasized by the White House.

Peace Officers Memorial Day, established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy along with a joint congressional resolution, falls on May 15 each year. The week encompassing this day is designated as National Police Week, during which Americans are encouraged to remember the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers. In a proclamation by President Donald Trump earlier this week, he urged citizens to engage in ceremonies and activities from May 10 to 16 and called on state governors and officials to lower flags in tribute.

The tradition of lowering the flag is an act guided by the US Flag Code, signifying a national gesture of respect and mourning for officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This symbolic gesture serves as a reminder of the ongoing risks faced by those who wear the badge.

In his proclamation, Trump took the opportunity to critique policies he considers detrimental to law enforcement, such as “soft-on-crime” approaches, unchecked illegal immigration, and cashless bail systems. He argued that these factors contribute to increased crime rates, putting officers and communities at unnecessary risk.

Trump took the opportunity in the proclamation to address “soft-on-crime policies, rampant illegal immigration, and reckless cashless bail programs” that he claims have contributed to surging crime rates at the detriment of officers and cities being needlessly put in harm’s way.  

“The officers standing on the front lines never faltered in their duty to protect the innocent and confront the guilty, yet they were too often hindered, and even punished, for carrying out the mission they had sworn to uphold,” the president wrote.

Throughout the week, various services and ceremonies were held, including a candlelight vigil on Tuesday and a memorial service on Friday, during which Vice President JD Vance delivered a tribute.

According to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, a DC-based non-profit that honors fallen officers, there were 363 officers added to the memorial in 2026. Of those, 109 were killed in 2025, and an additional 254 officers died in previous years, with many of their stories untold.

To further the memorial initiative, some individual states and cities posted their own tributes, including the Tampa Bay Police Department, which shared a video honoring its own 32 officers lost in the line of duty.

Despite the honorable intention, social media naturally reacted to those supporting the day in accordance with the president’s proclamation.

“You’re a supporter of the Pedophile in Chief. He hates Peace Officers, and is actively trying to emasculate them by pardoning and giving TAX MONEY to Jan 6 rioters,” one person wrote on X.

Others, however, took a more empathetic approach.

“No matter people’s politics, honoring officers who lost their lives protecting others should never become controversial,” wrote another.

A highly esteemed Army officer from Matteson, Illinois, is being honored this Friday.

Captain Antoine Lewis, serving in the U.S. Army, tragically lost his life in March 2019 when Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed shortly after leaving the runway.

In tribute to his memory, his family has unveiled a memorial scholarship this Friday.

This scholarship is a tribute to Captain Lewis, who perished in the devastating crash years ago. Now, his family and the community have united to introduce a scholarship for local high school students, commemorating his legacy.

On this Friday, the family of Lewis followed through on a heartfelt promise by launching the scholarship in remembrance of the brave serviceman.

“We’re continuing what we know would’ve been some type of investment,” Captain Lewis’ mother Antoinette Lewis said.

The community gathered in the captain’s hometown in the south suburbs.

“Captain Louis was raised here in Matteson He dedicated his life to uplift the others through his military service,” Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin said.

Family and friends wore Captain Lewis’ favorite colors to help mark the bittersweet moment. His father, Rodney Lewis, says he still struggles with the loss.

“My son, he was a meticulous dresser,” Rodney Lewis said. “He would dress in a black suit with red inside.”
