NASA has released a groundbreaking image of Earth captured from the far side of the moon during a flyby conducted by the Artemis II astronauts. This momentous occasion was celebrated in a phone call by former President Donald Trump, who praised the astronauts as “modern-day pioneers.”

The image, taken from a perspective never before seen by human eyes, has been likened by NASA to the famous “Earthrise” photograph snapped by astronaut Bill Anders during the Apollo 8 mission nearly six decades ago.

NASA has named this new photo “Earthset,” paying homage to the iconic image from 1968.

In a post on X, the White House shared the photo with the caption, “Humanity, from the other side. First photo from the far side of the Moon. Captured from Orion as Earth dips beyond the lunar horizon.”

Trump took a call with the astronauts on the Artemis II mission late Monday, saying: “Today you’ve made history and made all of America really proud. Incredibly proud.”

“Humans have really never seen anything quite like what you’re doing in a manned spacecraft. It’s really special,” Trump added. “I want to personally salute and congratulate Commander Reid Weissman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen.“

NASA reported that the Earthset photo was captured through the window of the Orion spacecraft around 7 p.m. ET on Monday during a flyby of the moon, without giving any of the four Artemis II crew members specific photographer’s credit.

NASA described the view from the photo as a “muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface.”

“The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime,” NASA wrote. “On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region.”

The Orion holds 32 cameras, according to NASA. Fifteen cameras are fixed to the spacecraft, and 17 are handheld by crew members.

Artemis II Mission Specialist Christina Koch remarked upon the beauty of the Earth from the crew’s unique vantage point, calling it “special.”

“The thing that changed for me, looking back at Earth, was that I found myself noticing not only the beauty of the Earth, but how much blackness there was around it and how it just made it even more special,” Koch recalled.

The Artemis II astronauts begin their journey back to Earth Tuesday, with the crew expected to travel a total of 695,081 miles total from launch to splashdown. Their mission is projected to be over 4,000 miles further from the Earth than Apollo 13.

The Artemis II capsule is projected to make its West Coast splashdown early Friday evening off the coast near San Diego.

“Your mission paves the way for America’s return to the lunar surface very soon,” Trump told the Artemis II crew.

As someone deeply invested in health advocacy and with years of experience interviewing leading medical professionals, I am well-versed in the developments of hormone replacement therapy. Despite my extensive research and understanding, I never imagined it would be relevant to my own life—perhaps due to a bit of pride.

I eat well, exercise, focus on sleep and take my vitamins. I ‘do everything right.’ So, when my doctor ran through the standard menopause symptom checklist at my recent annual gynecological checkup, I swatted them away with pride.

Hot flashes? No.

Stubborn belly fat? Absolutely not.

There’s no reason for women to suffer through the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Trust me, I know

Brain fog? Yes — but I’ve been that way since birth.

Vaginal dryness? Nah.

Periods still regular? Completely.

Sex drive, ok? Solid.

Then she asked something I never saw coming.

‘Any shoulder pain?’

I froze. For months, I’d had a bizarre and maddening shoulder injury that nothing could alleviate.

I’d blamed it on my first Wyoming winter and a snow shovel. But as someone who can still crank out dozens of strict push-ups, I found it baffling and somewhat humbling that I couldn’t shake it.

‘Why are you asking about my shoulder?’ I asked.

It turns out that musculoskeletal pain, particularly ‘frozen shoulder,’ is a well-documented but underreported symptom of perimenopause.

Estrogen, one of that hormones that decreases in women’s bodies as they age, has potent anti-inflammatory properties, and as it drops, tendons and joints become inflamed and slow to heal.

My jaw hit the floor.

My doctor put me on the lowest dose estrogen patch plus a low dose of progesterone.

Within three weeks, my shoulder was 90 percent better.

One of my first thoughts was: why don’t more women know about this?

Well, we know the answer – and it has to do with one of the biggest travesties in American medicine.

Every major figure in the study of MRT — Dr Michelle Milovina, Dr Mary Claire Haver, Dr Lisa Mosconi, Dr David Sinclair, Dr Drew Pinsky, Dr Peter Attia (all of whom I’ve interviewed) — all share one thing in common: a white-hot, barely contained fury over a single study called the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI).

Launched in 1991, the WHI was meant to be the definitive word on women’s health. But in 2002, the WHI was abruptly halted when researchers claimed that estrogen plus progestin (a synthetic compound that mimics progesterone) dramatically increased the risk of breast cancer, heart disease and stroke.

The findings rocked the medical community and the media erupted. Doctors stopped prescribing the hormones overnight and an entire generation of women were essentially abandoned — terrified of the very medicine that could help them.

But the study was fundamentally flawed.

The average participant was 63 years old — over a decade past the critical ‘window of opportunity’ for hormone therapy. The WHI also used synthetic progestins and oral estrogens, forms now considered largely obsolete.

Look at data for women in their 40s and 50s today who take modern, bioidentical, transdermal (patch) delivery. The risk of breast cancer risk doesn’t just shrink, for most women, it virtually disappears.

One botched study and millions of women suffered needlessly. Countless others have even died from preventable hip fractures or heart disease because their doctors were too frightened to prescribe the medicine that could have protected them.

MRT, I believe, is a miracle for women because it helps maintain our biology at its source. Estrogen and progesterone aren’t just ‘sex hormones.’ They’re the female body’s master regulators, governing nearly every major system.

But, starting at 40-year-old, her estrogen and progesterone levels start to drop. And when they go, they don’t just take your periods with them. They take the biological scaffolding that hold everything together.

The brain: Estrogen fuels the brain’s glucose metabolism. When levels drop, the brain essentially begins to starve, producing the brain fog so many women dismiss as normal aging. 

Even more alarming, long-term estrogen deprivation significantly increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Women already represent nearly two-thirds of all Alzheimer’s cases. This is not a coincidence.

Sleep: Progesterone converts in the brain to a neurosteroid called allopregnanolone, which activates GABA receptors essentially acting as a natural, safe sedative. 

Women on MRT consistently report that the 3am wakeups stop. Deep, restorative sleep returns. Everything else follows.

Metabolism: Estrogen optimizes insulin sensitivity. Without it, the body becomes less efficient at processing carbohydrates and dramatically more prone to storing visceral fat, the dangerous kind packed around your organs, aka ‘menopause middle.’ 

Restoring estrogen restores metabolic flexibility. The weight that seemed impossible to shift suddenly responds again.

Heart and bones: Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the US. Not breast cancer, which is what almost everyone fears the most. 

Estrogen keeps arteries supple and maintains healthy cholesterol ratios. It also governs bone-building cells. Without it, women can lose up to 20 percent of their bone density in just five years. The result of too little estrogen is osteoporosis, a ‘silent killer’ that announces itself only when a hip shatters.

Skin, hair, nails and joints: Estrogen is a primary driver of collagen synthesis, the structural protein that keeps skin firm, hair strong, and joints cushioned. 

I’ve been open for years about using collagen peptides and they absolutely help. But here’s the critical piece most people miss: if estrogen is low, your body’s ability to use that collagen is compromised. 

MRT and collagen supplementation aren’t competing strategies. They’re synergistic – one restores the engine, the other provides the fuel.

Additionally, the benefits of MRT are cumulative. Improved brain chemistry and progesterone-backed sleep lead to lower cortisol and more energy. When your insulin sensitivity is optimized, your metabolic flexibility returns.

Suddenly, you have the capacity to train harder, eat better and stay consistent. That’s when the results start to compound: stronger joints, healthier skin and better body composition — not from a single ‘miracle fix,’ but because the entire system is working in harmony again.

If you are suffering, don’t let pride stand in your way. We have the science to live better for longer. It’s time we start using it.

CHICAGO — DePaul University students are calling for the reinstatement of a student group focused on Palestinian issues, which they say has been unjustly suspended.

The students allege that the organization was put on hold last year and are pushing for it to be reactivated.

Members of the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter at DePaul have stated that their group faced sanctions in 2024, with the suspension set to last until 2027.

According to the students, this action was taken as a consequence of their outspoken stance on alleged injustices against the Palestinian community.

“I should be looking forward to graduating and celebrating my achievements here,” said Tes, a Palestinian student affected by the suspension.

Through tears, Tes told the story of how her experience attending DePaul had only made her feel more marginalized, even questioning the possibility of her diploma being stripped away.

“My parents automatically were like, ‘Was this the right decision?’” Tes said. “We’ve seen students from different universities having their diplomas taken away, them not being able to walk the stage.”

She rallied Tuesday with other students who share the same feelings of discrimination on campus.

They say they received a letter from the university in 2024 stating that the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter would be sanctioned, claiming the chapter was antisemitic.

The letter was received after a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus was dismantled.

The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, said that organization has now been suspended for the next two years.

“We have filed discrimination complaints with the Illinois Department of Human Rights. It is why we are committed to pushing for transparency, accountability and justice. Because this moment is more than one campus,” said Estrella Vazquez, district director for state Rep. Lilian Jimenez.

Their efforts have garnered support from other religious leaders.

“It is not antisemitic to be in solidarity with Palestinians,” said Rabbi Brant Rosen, with Tzedek Chicago.

“DePaul, you need to check yourself out. Live up to your Vincentian mission. Or take the name Vincentian and take the name Catholic off your identity,” said Father Michael Pfleger, with Saint Sabina Church.

The DePaul campus has been a hot spot for conflict between supporters of Israelis and Palestinians.

Hate crime charges were filed after two Jewish students were attacked outside a student center.

DePaul said in a statement, “As a Catholic institution, DePaul University compassionately upholds the dignity of all members of our diverse, multi-faith, and inclusive community. DePaul has no tolerance for any act of hatred or discrimination.

“The university is steadfastly committed to investigating every reported complaint of harassment or discrimination. Students, faculty and staff can report incidents online, by email, by phone, or in-person. Anonymous reporting options are also available. These reporting mechanisms are publicly stated in related university policies, posted on flyers on our campuses, and routinely publicized to our community in email communications.

“Free expression is a core value at DePaul. We draw a distinction between protected speech and action that violates our Code of Student Responsibility. Following a Student Conduct Process, this student organization was found to be in violation of multiple university policies and was sanctioned accordingly.”

An undocumented immigrant from Haiti, initially detained and later released by the Biden administration in 2022, has been arrested following a brutal incident that took place in Fort Myers, Florida. The suspect, Rolbert Joachim, 40, is accused of fatally attacking a woman with a hammer outside a gas station in broad daylight.

According to records from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Joachim faces charges of second-degree murder and criminal damage to property. The violent act was captured on surveillance footage, which reportedly shows Joachim shattering the windshield of the woman’s car before approaching her and delivering fatal blows to her head with a hammer.

The victim, whose name has not yet been disclosed to the public, was reportedly employed as a store clerk at the gas station where the attack occurred. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been involved in the investigation, highlighting the alarming nature of the crime.

This tragic event has raised questions about the policies regarding immigration enforcement and the monitoring of individuals released after detention. The suspect, Rolbert Joachim, remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.

She was also the mother of two teenage daughters, according to a report from local outlet Gulf Coast News.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) assisted the Fort Myers Police Department in tracking down and arresting Joachim on Mango Street in Fort Myers.

Joachim first entered the U.S. in August 2022 and was released into the country under the Biden administration, according to DHS.

A federal judge issued a final order of removal against him later that year, but he was granted Temporary Protected Status — which expired in 2024.

“This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer,” DHS acting assistant secretary Lauren Bis wrote in a statement. “This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him temporary protected status. Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life.”

ICE has lodged a detainer against Joachim, and he will be deported regardless of the outcome of the case.

“The arrest of this criminal is an example of how ICE and local authorities can work together to swiftly bring criminals to justice and make our communities safer,” Bis said.
