On Tuesday, January 27, hours before Shrinking Season 3’s supersized premiere was set to stream, Apple TV announced a rare, incredibly early Season 4 renewal! Ahead of Season 3’s finale, co-creator Bill Lawrence teased Season 4 on X, writing, “Excited to start completely new story next year. Feels scary/risky/fun.” He also added, “We always pitched a three season story on #Shrinking, grief-forgiveness-moving forward. We wanted to stay true to that and end the way we planned.”
After “new story” sparked some confusion, the Shrinking showrunner explained, “I mean that if we came back Season 4 and Jimmy turned to Brian and said ‘I’ve been thinking about it, and I’m STILL really sad about my wife dying’ we’d stop watching along w everyone else. Time jump. New story. Same gang.”
Ahead of Shrinking‘s Season 3 finale, viewers couldn’t help but wonder: Is Harrison Ford leaving Shrinking?! Why? Decider went deep on fan fears and shared our thoughts on Ford’s Shrinking future, but the worries stemmed from the fact that Paul retired and moved to Connecticut in the penultimate episode. If you worried that Shrinking would move forward without Ford, fear not! Lawrence assured everyone that “Same gang” means the “Same EXACT cast next year.”
“He is not leaving the show,” Shrinking‘s co-creator stressed. “He’s not going anywhere. Not an accident that Alice goes to college in Connecticut.” The fact that Alice is going to college at Wesleyan University in Connecticut provides tons of bi-costal potential for the series. So fear not, Ford will return, and we can’t wait to see what the team has in store.

A Michigan man, aged 33, is facing serious charges following the tragic death of a 3-year-old girl in his care. Authorities report that the girl was fatally struck by a pickup truck he was driving, during an alleged game of “racing” alongside the vehicle.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Richard Bryant, was apprehended last week in connection with the incident involving young Estella Johnson. Officials have suggested that alcohol consumption might have played a role at the time of the accident.
Bryant, who has been described by police as a “father figure” to Estella and is also engaged to her mother, is currently charged with reckless driving causing death and second-degree child abuse.
According to a statement from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, emergency services were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. on April 3 to the 13000 block of Darcy Circle NE. They responded to reports of a child being hit by a pickup truck. Despite efforts to save her, Estella was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe injuries she sustained.
Investigations revealed that Bryant was driving recklessly when the accident occurred, and authorities have highlighted the potential influence of alcohol. He is currently held at the Kent County Correctional Facility, and further charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
The child was identified as Estella Johnson, according to MLive. The outlet reported that Bryant initially told deputies that he and the victim were “just racing up the street,” with the girl running alongside his truck in a Cedar Springs mobile home park at the time of the incident. Bryant said he had been driving back from a nearby family member’s home with another child when Estella began running next to the vehicle.
Bryant told investigators he was traveling around 10 mph when he heard the child’s sibling yell for him to “Stop.” At that point, Bryant said he realized Estella was underneath the truck, MLive reported, citing a probable cause affidavit.
Bryant also allegedly said the girl suddenly “ran under the truck,” Grand Rapids, Michigan, ABC affiliate WZZM reported.
Authorities, however, reportedly noted possible signs of reckless driving at the scene, including what appeared to be recent acceleration tire marks near the residence.
Bryant further admitted to deputies that he is an alcoholic and consumes about a half gallon of alcohol daily, according to investigators, and officers noted an odor of alcohol during his transport to jail.
Witness accounts paint a chaotic and heartbreaking scene in the moments after the crash. A neighbor who rushed to help told Grand Rapids NBC affiliate WOOD that he attempted CPR on the child, but was unable to resuscitate her.
“I was doing compressions on her chest, but by the time cops or paramedics got here, she was already gone,” the neighbor said.
Another neighbor described the emotional aftermath as the child’s mother arrived.
“I said, ‘Alyssa, you need to get home right now. Your daughter’s just been run over,’” the neighbor said, adding that the mother “just bawled” when she learned what had happened.
Bryant reportedly has prior driving-related offenses, including a previous reckless driving conviction. He is currently scheduled to return to court on April 15 for a probable cause hearing, records show.
Meanwhile, those who knew Estella are remembering her as a vibrant and loving child. Her obituary describes her as “curious, intelligent, outgoing, and feisty,” adding that she “loved to pretend, to explore, and to fully immerse herself in play.”
A judge on Monday ordered Bryant to remain in custody on a $500,000 bond, court records show.
Republican efforts are in full swing as they pour financial resources into Georgia’s runoff election scheduled for Tuesday. This race is crucial as it seeks to fill the seat of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, with Republicans aiming to stave off any unexpected outcomes or a tight race with the Democratic contender, which could potentially lead to embarrassment ahead of the midterm elections.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, who once staunchly supported the MAGA movement but has since become a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, revealed in November her plans to resign from Congress early in the new year.
In the special election held last month, Republican Clayton Fuller and Democrat Shawn Harris emerged as the top contenders. The election featured candidates from both political parties on the same ballot.
However, as neither candidate managed to secure more than 50% of the vote, the race has advanced to a runoff phase.
In response, groups aligned with the Republican Party have been investing in advertising campaigns to motivate GOP supporters to participate in the upcoming polls.
Punchbowl News reported Monday that outside Republican groups have spent more than $1.5 million on TV ads, digital ads and mailers to increase GOP turnout in a district that went for Trump by nearly 37 points. Greene won her district – against Harris – by nearly 29 points.
If Harris can winnow that margin down to single digits it could suggest the GOP is in for a shellacking in the coming midterms, in which they’re trying to hold onto their Congressional majority.
Still, the Republican panic is likely overblown, with prediction markets giving Fuller a 98 percent chance of a win in the deep red district.

Trump endorsed Fuller in a Truth Social post on February 4, but later appeared to forget that he had done so, while addressing reporters on Air Force One.
‘They say whoever I endorse is going to win. But we have a lot of good candidates that want to take her place,’ Trump said on February 16.
The White House wouldn’t say whether Trump had forgotten that he had already made an endorsement in the race, instead pointing the Daily Mail to his original endorsement post.
Trump reposted the endorsement two days after the flight.
The Daily Mail found that Fuller previously donated $250 to James Mackler, a former Democratic candidate for the US Senate.
He also ran for Congress in 2020 and was endorsed by the With Honor Fund, a bipartisan group focused on electing military veterans with the aim of ending political polarization.
The group has endorsed Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans, with Emma Bloomberg, the daughter of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a Republican-turned-Democrat, sitting on the group’s advisory board.
Both Fuller and Harris are military veterans as the Iran war becomes a major voting issue.

Reacting to Trump’s foul-mouthed Easter post, in which he ordered Iran to open the ‘F***in’ Strait, you crazy bas*****,’ Greene posted to X Sunday that she thought the 79-year-old President had ‘gone insane.’
‘This [is] NOT what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly voted in 2024, I know, I was there more than most,’ she wrote. ‘This is not making America great again, this is evil.’
Harris, who’s also a cattle farmer, said in a CNN interview Saturday morning that Iran was a ‘war of choice’
‘We shouldn’t have been in it in the first place and Iran is not going to be an easy target,’ the Democrat continued.
When asked what his message was to voters who previously backed Greene, Harris pointed at the economy.

Fuller, an Air National Guard veteran who was previously deployed at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which has been a focus of Iranian strikes, has been supportive of the war – though hasn’t made that support a centerpiece of his campaign.
‘Our country is safe because of what President Trump has done regarding Iran,’ he said at a debate last month at the Atlanta Press Club. ‘It is a death cult that cannot be negotiated with.’
The Republican hopeful also gave Trump high marks on the economy in the March 22 debate.
‘The policies of President Trump are working for the people of GA-14,’ Fuller said. ‘Again, he inherited the worst economic inflationary crisis than any president in the last 50 years.’

The season 2 finale of ABC’s hit series High Potential delivered an unexpected twist with the presumed death of a key character, the revelation of Roman’s identity, and an unforeseen breakup.
In the gripping episode aired on Tuesday, April 7, stars Steve Howey and Kaitlin Olson, playing Wagner and Morgan respectively, teamed up to unravel the mystery surrounding Roman’s disappearance, Morgan’s ex. As the pair delved deeper into Wagner’s father’s connection and Willa’s (portrayed by Jennifer Jason Leigh) potential involvement, they found themselves in increasingly perilous situations.
The climax saw Wagner preparing to meet an individual who his father claimed held crucial answers. However, when Morgan arrived, she found Wagner gravely injured and bleeding, prompting an urgent call for first responders. His fate remains uncertain, though Howey, 48, is slated to appear in future projects such as Off Campus and Ransom Canyon, hinting at a potential exit from the show.
Meanwhile, the episode also placed Karadec, played by Daniel Sunjata, and Morgan at the center of a case involving a murder at Lucia’s (Susan Kelechi Watson) workplace. As the plot unfolded, Morgan began to suspect Lucia’s involvement in the crime. Discovering that Lucia had a hand in concealing the murder and had other criminal ties before her return to Los Angeles, Karadec had no choice but to arrest his girlfriend, leading to the end of their relationship.

The finale touched on Roman’s identity by having Willa reveal to Morgan that the FBI agent he was working with was allegedly conspiring against the government. Roman allegedly was also a double agent who seemingly killed the FBI agent when she wanted to come clean.
While Roman wasn’t unmasked, there was a presence at Ava’s (Amirah J) that appeared to be her missing father. The finale left a lot of unanswered questions, which will be addressed when the series returns in season 3.
Before season 2 came to an end, news broke in March that showrunner Todd Harthan exited the show to focus on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Christopher Paolini’s YA book series The Inheritance Cycle. The adaptation — titled Eragon — is cocreated with Paolini and Harthan will serve as coshowrunner alongside Todd Helbing.
High Potential, which premiered in September 2024, was created by Drew Goddard. The pilot was written by Goddard, who was expected to executive produce alongside Sarah Esberg, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret, Jean Nainchrik and Alethea Jones.

Thomas, meanwhile, was expected to serve as the showrunner before exiting in June 2024 — months before the series premiere. Harthan was ultimately announced as the new showrunner, who also served as an executive producer.
Harthan teased the vision for the series while speaking to Us Weekly in January.
“It’s a pretty bumpy ride. We’re going to start unpacking some pretty intense things with Morgan, as it relates to all things Roman,” he said at the time.“There are all kinds of trials and tribulations that are going to happen with the kids at home. It’s just going to get messy and complicated — hopefully in all the best ways so that the audience stays on the edge of their seats.”
He concluded, “Our job now as we get to the back half of the second season is to fill in some of the big blanks and progress some of the relationships. You’re going to see some intense things happen between Steve Howey’s character and Captain Wagner really starts to bloom in the back half. That causes some good soapy messes on multiple fronts. It’s just our normal MO of just trying to mix things up and keep the audience engaged and keep them guessing.”

SAN BENITO, Texas (Border Report) — On Tuesday, a pair of lawmakers from South Texas visited a federal detention center in this border town, where pregnant migrant teenagers, some as young as 13, are being held.
Democratic U.S. Representatives Vicente Gonzalez and Joaquin Castro dedicated about an hour to inspecting the facility, situated downtown just opposite San Benito’s museum.
In a recent public statement, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council expressed approval of actions taken by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Our adversary has faced an undeniable, historic, and overwhelming defeat in its cowardly, unlawful, and criminal aggression against the Iranian people,” the council’s statement declared.
“Iran has claimed a significant triumph, compelling the criminal United States to agree to its 10-point plan,” the statement continued.
“We extend our congratulations to the entire Iranian nation on this achievement and stress that until the particulars of this victory are fully established, it is crucial for authorities to exercise persistence and caution while maintaining the unity and solidarity of the Iranian populace.”
While Trump did not delve into the specifics of the plan, he referred to it as a “workable basis on which to negotiate.”
Accepting the proposal would mark a dramatic victory for the regime and would leave the US and its allies much worse off than they were at the start of the war.
The plan would allow Iran to continue enriching uranium while forcing the US to withdraw all combat forces from the region.
It would force the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions on Iran and require a US guarantee of non-aggression.
It would also require “compensation for damages inflicted on Iran”.
Iran said it would use the proceeds of their half of the toll to rebuild the country.
As a consequence of the toll, oil and other exports from the Persian Gulf would be able to be sold, but at a more expensive price. Six weeks ago, ships could pass through the strait without charge.
Iran has made no concessions in its 10-point plan.
“By accepting these conditions as the basis for negotiations, Trump has retreated from his desperate threats and bluffs,” a statement from the Supreme National Security Council has read.
Not mentioned in either countries’ announcements is the position of Israel on the ceasefire.

A Georgia mother has been handed a 40-year prison sentence, the harshest penalty available under state law, following reports from an elementary school teacher that she physically abused her child by kicking, punching, and choking them.
On April 2, Candice Nicole McClure was found guilty of one count of aggravated assault and two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, as stated in a press release from the District Attorney’s Office.
McClure maintained her innocence, entering a plea of not guilty, according to court documents.
The allegations against McClure emerged in 2023 when her child confided in a Cherokee County elementary school teacher about being kicked, punched, and choked. This disclosure triggered an investigation by the Canton Police Department and the Division of Family & Child Services (DFCS).
An unexpected visit to McClure’s home by a DFCS worker revealed bruising on the child’s leg and a forehead injury. Photographs of these injuries led to a medical evaluation, where doctors concluded that the forehead mark was consistent with a beating from a belt, as detailed in the release.
Prosecutors claimed the child had been abused for quite some time, referencing medical evidence and photos from 2016 that revealed injuries to the then-4-year-old in another country.
At the sentencing, McClure’s child—accompanied by an adoptive parent, a victim advocate and a service dog named Parker—said no one deserves abuse, per the release, and thanked the jury for allowing them to be heard.
Assistant District Attorney David Bailey of the Special Victims Unit called the teachers who reported the abuse, “heroes,” according to the press release. “They recognized the signs of abuse and created a safe place for the child to come forward.”
Oxygen could not immediately reach an attorney for McClure for comment.
Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are joyfully celebrating a significant milestone as their son Julian turns 16 today.

This decline usually isn’t marked by a single event; rather, it’s a gradual accumulation of tiredness, stiffness, and reluctance.
One straightforward method I’ve used to assess this with clients is the wall sit. It requires no special equipment or complicated preparation—just you, a wall, and your leg muscles doing the work. The duration you can maintain this position reveals a lot about the strength and capability of your lower body. Let’s explore why this is important, how to perform it correctly, and what your results signify.

The wall sit looks simple, but it digs into something many people overlook: muscular endurance. Your legs have to keep producing force without a break while your body stays in one position. There’s no bouncing in and out of reps and no chance to hide behind momentum. You settle into the position, and your muscles have to hold their ground.
That’s where isometric strength comes into play. Holding a position like this trains your muscles to stay switched on under constant tension. Your quads, glutes, and core work together to keep your joints stacked and your posture steady. Over time, that kind of training builds better joint stability, improves control, and helps your body handle longer stretches of activity without breaking down.
It also carries over directly to real life. Think about standing in line, walking through an airport, or lowering yourself into a chair and controlling the descent. Your muscles don’t get to relax between reps in those situations. They stay engaged and keep working. The wall sit builds that exact quality, which is why it’s such a reliable test.
You’ll also feel weak links show up pretty quickly. When your quads start to fade, your depth changes. When your hips lose tension, your knees drift or your posture softens. Holding a clean position for time shows that your legs can stay strong, controlled, and consistent even as fatigue builds.
Form matters here. A sloppy wall sit turns into a test of how long you can tolerate discomfort. A clean wall sit becomes a real measure of strength.
