Anthony Albanese Set for Exclusive National Broadcast

0
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will address the nation tonight in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the fuel crisis.

Prime Minister Albanese is expected to present Australia’s strategy for addressing the ongoing conflict and its effects on fuel availability, along with ways that Australians can contribute to the efforts.

His special address is scheduled for 7 PM AEDT and will be broadcast live across all television and radio networks. Viewers can also tune in via the stream at the top of this page or on 9news.com.au.

This address offers the Prime Minister an opportunity to explain the government’s fuel plan and to alleviate public anxiety regarding the situation in the Middle East, according to Charles Croucher, Nine’s chief political editor.

“Such addresses are relatively rare,” remarked Croucher. “They usually occur during significant national events or crises.”

“It reminds me of the historic moment when Robert Menzies solemnly informed Australians that the nation was entering World War II,” he added.

Croucher said the timing of this national address is important.

This is the last opportunity for Albanese to address Australia before the Easter break and, in many states, school holidays.

“The next two weeks should also see the [Middle East] conflict end, according to President Trump, and it will see a pinch point for the pressure on [oil] supply,” Croucher said.

He doubts Albanese will make any major announcements, such as fuel rationing, and said it’s more likely the prime minister will share a plan for the nation moving forward.

The last time a prime minister gave a nation address of this scale was during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Scott Morrison spoke to the people of Australia on the evening of Thursday, March 12 as borders slammed shut and the country went into the first of many lockdowns.

He outlined government plans to manage the impacts of the virus and reassured Aussies that “we are well prepared and are well equipped to deal with it”.

About 12 years prior, Kevin Rudd addressed the nation regarding the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) of 2008.

“I have absolute confidence that as a nation, we will get through these tough times together,” he concluded his address.

Tonight, Albanese will deliver his own national address while across the globe, US President Donald Trump prepares to do the same.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed today that he will “provide an important update on Iran” at 9pm on Wednesday local time (midday Thursday in Australia).

Leavitt’s announcement came just hours after Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that US forces could leave Iran in “two or three weeks”.

Jacksonville Beach ‘Senior Skip Day’ Arrests Could Lead to Lasting Impacts for Teens

0

The recent ‘Senior Skip Day’ at Jacksonville Beach, meant to be a day of carefree fun, took a serious turn as it concluded with a significant law enforcement operation. The result was the arrest of 13 individuals, the seizure of nine firearms, and the confiscation of over 100 grams of marijuana. Among those facing legal repercussions, eight are charged with felonies, highlighting the gravity of the situation, particularly for those aged 19 and under.

Ken Jefferson, a crime and safety expert with First Coast News, shared insights into the implications for the teenagers involved and pondered whether these events might serve as a deterrent for future behavior. Jefferson emphasized an important aspect of law enforcement’s approach to the event, addressing a common misconception about their preparedness.

“There was an assumption that law enforcement was caught off guard when the event’s organizers attempted to change locations at the last moment,” Jefferson clarified. “However, this was not the case. While it may have appeared sudden to the public, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) was not taken by surprise. They don’t reveal all their strategies beforehand, and despite the unexpected change, they were ready to respond effectively.”

This incident serves as a stark reminder to the community and its youth about the potential consequences of such gatherings, underlining the importance of responsible behavior and the vigilance of local law enforcement in maintaining public safety.

“In our eyes it was last minute, but it wasn’t last minute in JSO’s eyes,” Jefferson said. “They’re not going to disclose every move, every strategy to the public in advance. They had a location they knew they were supposed to conduct this event at, then all of a sudden, at the last minute, they switched it, but the sheriff’s office was prepared for that.”

Jefferson said operations like this require serious advance work: surveillance, intelligence gathering, strategic positioning, and JSO did all of it before a single teenager showed up.

“It takes planning. It takes time. They have to be strategic about it,” he said. “They have to have foresight and fore-vision as to what could happen. A lot of thought process goes into investigating these sorts of things.”

Jefferson was direct about the minors, some as young as 16, who showed up to the beach gathering with guns.

“When they’re that age, and they have deadly weapons, those weapons don’t know any better,” he said. “You pull the trigger, it’s going to respond like it’s supposed to respond.”

But he pushed back on any notion that youth is a mitigating factor here.

“No matter what their age is — 15, 16, 17 — they know what they’re doing,” Jefferson said. “They know that if something bad happens, they’re going to have to face the consequences. There should be no leniency for a 15 or 16-year-old who has a deadly weapon, willingly and knowingly, and knows that it could severely injure or kill someone.”

Unlike a misdemeanor, which can disappear from a juvenile record once someone turns 18, a felony doesn’t go away.

“It’s going to affect them for the rest of their life, whether it be trying to apply for a job, whether it be to vote, or whether it be to just blend into society as a normal person,” Jefferson said. “You have that record on you.”

He acknowledged that some people do turn it around. But the odds, he said, are not good, and the mindset that sometimes sets in after a first felony makes things worse, not better.

“Sometimes they have the mindset: I already got a felony, so it won’t hurt if I do this,” Jefferson said. “And that’s the wrong mindset to have.”

Teen takeovers and large gatherings that end in arrests have become a pattern in Jacksonville and across the country.

Jefferson said the problem runs deeper than consequences; it’s about who’s in the crowd.

“You always have that one or two that’s igniting the crowd and motivating them to do things they should not be doing,” he said. “A lot of juveniles who’ve never been in trouble find themselves getting into trouble because they’re persuaded or motivated by someone.”

As for whether repeated crackdowns will eventually register, Jefferson thinks so, but not yet.

“Over time, I think it will be a deterrent,” he said. “But as it stands right now, they feel they’re invincible. They feel they can do anything.”

The message law enforcement is trying to send, he said, is simple, and the hope is that it eventually lands.

“Law enforcement is trying to say to you: if you’re caught doing wrong in this type of setting, you’re going to go to jail. If you’re charged with a felony, it’s going to follow you for the rest of your life, and you don’t want that.”

Hegseth Discloses Outcome for Army Pilots Flying Near Kid Rock’s $3M Residence

0

Army pilots who recently maneuvered two helicopters near Kid Rock’s luxurious $3 million mansion in Tennessee have had their suspension lifted.

The pilots, whose identities remain undisclosed, flew past the grand White House replica during a training exercise as Kid Rock applauded and saluted them.

On Tuesday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the suspension had been revoked.

“No punishment. No Investigation. Carry on, patriots,” Hegseth declared in a post on social media. The Pentagon has yet to release an official comment on the matter.

Previously, a spokesperson for the US Army stated that the crews of the two AH-64 Apache helicopters were grounded pending an investigation into their conduct.

The suspension was a discretionary — but not unusual — step when an investigation is underway, Major Montrell Russell said.

‘The Army has confirmed that on March 28, two Apache helicopters from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Campbell conducted a flight in the Nashville area that has attracted public and media attention,’ according to a statement from the Army on Tuesday.

The Army said it would review whether the flight complied with FAA regulations and aviation safety protocol.

Kid Rock, who is an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump, told WKRN-TV on Monday that it’s not uncommon for helicopters from nearby Fort Campbell to fly near his home.

He said he is a big supporter of the military and he’s performed for troops overseas in Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.

‘I think they know this is a pretty friendly spot,’ he said. He noted that last Thanksgiving he was at Fort Campbell, a sprawling Army base on the Tennessee-Kentucky border, with Vice President JD Vance.

‘I’ve talked to some of these pilots. I’ve told them, ‘You guys see me waving when you come by the house?’ I’m like, ‘You guys are always welcome to cruise by my house, any time,’ he said.

Kid Rock posted two short videos on social media Saturday. Each shows a helicopter hovering alongside his swimming pool while the entertainer claps, salutes and raises his fist in the air.

One post included a caption by Kid Rock disparaging Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a frequent Trump critic.

Speaking at the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump suggested maybe the crews shouldn’t have done it before adding, ‘I like Kid Rock, maybe they were trying to defend him, I don’t know.’

In the videos, Kid Rock stands next to a replica of the Statue of Liberty and a sign by the pool that reads, ‘The Southern White House.’

His home on a hill overlooking Nashville was built to resemble the White House.

The helicopters were on a training mission when they stopped by Kid Rock’s house, said Maj. Jonathon Bless, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division.

The helicopters also flew over a ‘No Kings’ protest against Trump in downtown Nashville, but Bless said their presence had nothing to do with the protest.

Kid Rock said he thought it was ‘really cool’ that they stopped to hover at his house.

‘If it makes their day a little brighter for their service to our country, protecting us, I think that’s a great thing,’ he said.

Asked about possible repercussions for the crews, he said, ‘I think they’re going to be all right. My buddy’s the commander in chief.’

Trump’s Bold Oil Move Amid Rising Israel-Lebanon Tensions: A Call for Energy Independence

0

In Brief

  • US President Donald Trump has lashed out at allies, including the UK and France, for not joining strikes on Iran.
  • In a social media post, Trump said allies should buy US oil and go to the Strait of Hormuz and “just TAKE it”.

In a bold statement, former U.S. President Donald Trump has called on nations that did not support the U.S. and Israel in their military actions against Iran to purchase American oil and assertively secure their own supplies from the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump specifically named the United Kingdom and France as lacking in support during the ongoing conflict that has disrupted global markets, escalated energy prices, and prompted Iran to effectively block oil tanker traffic through the crucial Strait of Hormuz.

“To all countries struggling with jet fuel shortages due to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which chose not to participate in the decapitation of Iran, I have a proposal,” Trump stated in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday. “First, buy from the U.S., where we have ample supply. Second, muster the courage, head to the Strait, and just take what you need.”

“You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us.

“The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!”

He also criticised France for not letting planes carrying military supplies to Israel fly over French territory.

Israel threatens to destroy Lebanese homes on border

Trump’s comments came as Israeli defence minister Israel Katz said Israel would destroy all homes in Lebanese villages near the border and 600,000 people who fled the south would not be allowed home until northern Israel is secure.

Katz reiterated Israeli plans to establish a ‘buffer zone’ in southern Lebanon, saying that it would maintain control over a swathe of territory up to the Litani River once the war with the Iran-backed Hezbollah group ended.

More than 1.2 million people have been displaced and 1,200 have been killed since Israel launched a ground invasion into southern Lebanon against Hezbollah on 2 March, ignited by the group’s decision to open fire in support of Iran.

Israel says its current military operation in southern Lebanon is intended to expand the security buffer zone until Hezbollah’s threat to Israel is eliminated. The Lebanese government has described the operation as a violation of the country’s sovereignty.

The Litani River meets the Mediterranean about 30km north of Israel’s border, and the area between it and the Israeli border amounts to nearly 10 per cent of Lebanon’s territory.

Earlier this month, the Israeli military ordered residents to leave swathes of the south, the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut, and the group’s political heartlands in eastern Lebanon.

“All houses in villages near the Lebanese border will be destroyed, in accordance with the model used in Rafah and Beit Hanoun in Gaza, in order to permanently remove the threats near the border to northern residents,” Katz said.

European countries called on Israel to avoid further escalation, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Israel’s occupation of Lebanese territory was a “violation of their territorial sovereignty”.

Lebanon’s minister of social affairs Haneen Sayed said that Israel’s ground invasion, which she described as a “land grab”, was deepening the risk that Lebanese would be stuck in long-term displacement.

Iran has ‘necessary will’ to end war

It comes as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran had the “necessary will” to end the war with the US and Israel, but it was seeking guarantees the conflict would not flare up again.

The comment by the head of state — which boosted markets in the United States — came after a day of heavy strikes on Iran and followed a tough warning from the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The Guards threatened to retaliate against leading US tech firms such as Google, Meta and Apple from Wednesday if more Iranian leaders were killed in “targeted assassinations”.

The Guards accused 18 companies, also including Intel, Tesla and analytics firm Palantir, of being complicit in previous killings and warned they “should expect the destruction of their relevant units in exchange for every assassination in Iran”.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched the war on 28 February, killing Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and setting off a wave of retaliatory attacks across the region.

Trump has since zigzagged on whether Washington plans to further escalate the war that has roiled the world economy — possibly by deploying US ground forces — or try to end it through negotiations with Tehran.

Pezeshkian, in a phone call with the president of the European Council, said Iran had “the necessary will to end this conflict, provided that essential conditions are met — especially the guarantees required to prevent repetition of the aggression”.

Responding to a 15-point US plan to end the war last week, Iran had put forward a counter-proposal demanding a mechanism guaranteeing that Israel and the US would not return to war.

US defence secretary Pete Hegseth, speaking earlier after he visited US troops in the Middle East, vowed that “the upcoming days will be decisive. Iran knows that, and there’s almost nothing they can militarily do about it”.

Asked about next steps, Hegseth said that “you can’t fight and win a war if you tell your adversary what you are willing to do, or what you are not willing to do, to include boots on the ground”.

Trump had threatened Monday that if Iran didn’t agree to a deal, US forces would “obliterate” all of its oil wells, its main Kharg Island export terminal, and possibly its water desalination plants.

On Tuesday, heavy strikes hit Iran, including the central city of Isfahan and Tehran, where blasts occurred and air defences were activated.

Iranian state media also reported damage to a Shia religious centre in Zanjan, while the government said airstrikes had hit a plant making cancer drugs and anaesthetics, claims that could not be independently verified.

Man Charged in Gruesome Murder of DC Resident Found Bound and Burned in Upscale Neighborhood, Police Report

0

A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the murder of 40-year-old Syed Hammad Hussain, who was discovered deceased in his upscale Logan Circle condo in Northwest Washington this past February. Authorities describe the incident as exceptionally brutal, involving not only a robbery and violent assault but also an arson attempt posthumously.

Police have arrested 36-year-old Rico Rashaad Barnes from Northwest D.C., charging him with first-degree murder while armed in relation to Hussain’s death. Additionally, authorities have identified another suspect, currently detained for unrelated offenses, who is anticipated to face charges in this case as well.

The murder took place on the 1400 block of Rhode Island Avenue NW, an area in Logan Circle renowned for its bustling dining scene and luxury housing.

“This was an especially atrocious crime,” remarked Interim Metropolitan Police Chief Jeff Carroll at a press briefing on Tuesday. “Mr. Hussain was discovered with both blunt force trauma and burn injuries within his residence.”

Rico Barnes, aged 36 and from Northwest D.C., now faces charges of first-degree murder while armed, as documented by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Firefighters responding to reports of smoke around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 11 entered Hussain’s apartment, extinguished a small fire and found him unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later ruled the death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma and strangulation. Investigators determined the fire had been set after Hussain’s death.

Court documents obtained by Fox News Digital detail the violent sequence of events.

According to a 27-page affidavit reviewed by Fox News Digital, surveillance footage shows Hussain entering his apartment building around 1:30 a.m., followed closely by two men.

“The video shows two suspects appearing to follow Mr. Hussain into the building,” Commander Kevin Kentish of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division said Tuesday. “Shortly thereafter, the suspects knocked on the door, and Mr. Hussain allowed them inside.”

Once inside, investigators say, the encounter escalated.

On Monday, March 30, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 36-year-old Rico Barnes, of Northwest, DC. (Superior Court of the District of Columbia)

Video and witness statements, police said, revealed that Hussain was assaulted in the building’s lobby, struck and knocked to the ground before being forced toward his apartment. Detectives believe he was then dragged or carried inside, where the attack continued out of view of cameras.

When emergency crews later entered the apartment, they found Hussain lying face down with his wrists and ankles bound. Blood was visible on floors, walls and furniture, according to investigators.

The autopsy found multiple blunt force injuries, including skull fractures, as well as evidence of ligature strangulation. Burns to Hussain’s body were determined to have occurred after his death. Investigators allege the killing took place during a robbery.

The apartment had been searched, with drawers opened and items missing, including electronics, jewelry and cash. Authorities said that $50,000 worth of items were stolen from the condo.

“Video evidence was key in this case,” Kentish said, adding that detectives spent “countless hours” reviewing footage from inside the building and surrounding areas.

Exterior photo from surveillance video of suspect

Police say that Hussain did not appear to know his attackers before he was killed. MPD’s Interim Chief Jeffery W. Carroll said on Tuesday that Barnes and the other suspect appeared to have taken items from Hussain’s apartment after the attack.  (Superior Court of the District of Columbia)

That video trail revealed that the suspects left the building around 2:30 a.m. carrying multiple bags. Detectives tracked them across Northwest Washington using surveillance cameras and footage obtained with help from Metro Transit Police.

The suspects were seen walking along Rhode Island Avenue, then boarding a Metrobus and traveling toward the Georgia Avenue corridor before continuing by foot, according to investigators.

Through that process, police identified Barnes as one of the suspects.

Court documents say detectives matched surveillance images with police records and witness identifications.

A second suspect, identified in court documents as Alphonso Walker, was also linked to the crime through surveillance footage, witness statements and GPS data from an ankle monitor, which placed him in the area during the timeframe of the killing.

Barnes was arrested March 30 by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Police said they do not believe there are additional suspects.

Suspect seen on surveillance video

Police explained that a camera captured two people following Hussain as he walked into his apartment building the night he was killed. A short time later, the two suspects reportedly knocked on the building door, and Hussain let the pair in. (Superior Court of the District of Columbia)

Investigators said they do not believe Hussain had a prior relationship with the suspects before the day of the killing.

Carroll praised the work of homicide detectives and partner agencies involved in the case, calling it “strong detective work.”

“On behalf of the entire Metropolitan Police Department, I want to express my deepest sympathies to Mr. Hussain’s family and his friends,” Carroll said. “We know that this news does not ease the pain that you’re feeling, but we hope it does bring some level of closure.”

Barnes remains in custody as the case proceeds in D.C. Superior Court.

Tragic Love Triangle: Man Allegedly Murders Girlfriend, Purchases Bow Saw, and Fabricates Story of Her Leaving, Police Report

0

Left: Christopher Sanders (Little Elm Police Department). Right: Molly Richards (Little Elm Police Department).

A chilling case has emerged from Texas, where a man stands accused of murdering his girlfriend and fabricating a story of her leaving for South Dakota with another man. Christopher Charles Sanders, aged 53, faces murder charges in connection with the mysterious disappearance of 31-year-old Molly Richards, as documented by Denton County jail records and reported by Law&Crime. This case has its roots tracing back to October 2025.

The narrative unfolded when Molly Richards’ father, Steven Richards, alerted the Little Elm Police Department about his daughter’s situation. He recounted how she had moved in with Sanders at a residence in Little Elm in October 2025, based on details from an arrest affidavit obtained by the regional ABC affiliate, WFAA. Before disappearing, Molly had informed her father through a text message that she and Sanders planned a trip to South Dakota. The last time Steven saw his daughter was in November of that year.

Further complicating the case, Molly had confided in her father about Sanders being abusive. On December 1, 2025, Steven received a troubling message from her, stating she was seeking help at a mental health facility due to her bipolar disorder. Concerned about her welfare, Steven began seeking information from Sanders regarding his daughter’s whereabouts.

On December 15, Steven Richards reached out to Sanders with a pressing inquiry: “Went by your place. Where is Molly anyway?” reported WFAA. “There was no answer at the door, and I didn’t see her car. I am worried about Molly. Can you tell me where she is and how she is doing?” His plea underscored a father’s growing fear and desperation as the search for Molly intensified.

“Went by your place. Where is Molly anyway?” Steven Richards asked Sanders in a Dec. 15 message, per WFAA. “There was no answer at the door, and I didn’t see her car. I am worried about Molly. Can you tell me where she is and how she is doing?”

Sanders allegedly did not reply.

Authorities began investigating Sanders’ connections to South Dakota, the affidavit states, learning that Molly Richards’ vehicle had crashed in Deadwood, South Dakota. A witness told investigators that Sanders asked him to care for her vehicle while Sanders took her to a doctor about 40 miles south of Deadwood in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Sanders reportedly left her vehicle there and took a flight back to Texas, telling the witness that Richards had met a guy in Deadwood and wanted to stay with him at a motel in Rapid City. When Little Elm investigators contacted motels and other facilities in the area, none had seen Richards.

When investigators found Richards’ car and were able to secure a search warrant for it, they said they noticed a strong smell of cleaning products. On Feb. 19, authorities learned that her phone pinged in Denton near Sanders’ home, and days later, a woman watching Sanders’ dogs allegedly found items belonging to Richards, including a driver’s license.

The Little Elm Police Department posted a “Missing Person” flyer on social media on Feb. 25, stating that Molly Richards was last seen in Little Elm — a city just north of Dallas — in November 2025. “She was reported to have possibly traveled to South Dakota and has not been seen or contacted since,” the flyer added.

When investigators carried out a search warrant on properties owned by Sanders, they reportedly found bedding with blood residue, a receipt for a 24-inch bow saw, and 10 five-gallon buckets. Investigators believe Sanders killed Richards on or around Nov. 25, 2025, The Independent reported.

Sanders was booked into jail on March 16. Richards’ remains have not been found.

Augusta Initiates Parking Strategy Planning Following Completion of Downtown Roadwork

AUGUSTA, Ga. – As renovations take place, Broad Street is set to become a hotspot, even with the introduction of paid parking.

“I believe it’s a valuable investment. It will benefit the community and demonstrate that those who truly care about downtown are willing to make that investment,” shared Andrew Tarr.

After the roadwork concludes, Augusta Commissioners have given the green light to develop a parking management strategy for the downtown area, with some advocating for paid parking right away.

“I’m on board, and I think many of us are. It’s hard to find a city where parking is free these days,” expressed Commissioner Don Clark.

The ongoing construction is decreasing the number of parking spaces on Broad Street, prompting some local business owners to support the idea of metered parking to promote turnover.

“We need to have time management, especially in the real prominent spaces right in front of businesses so the people who are parking there are shopping at the retail stores and eating in restaurants and not people parking there all day,” said owner Brad Usry.

Commissioners say they are just approving directing staff to start the plan for parking management downtown, and though they did not approve it, there is support for having to pay to park in the area.

“I think it will be a good thing, I really do. I think we need a plan just keeping adding spaces you got to managed it,” said Commissioner Tina Slendak.

For Broad Street visitors, the two-hour parking signs may one day be replaced with signs that say how much an hour to park.

“We’re at the point now makes sense next step so let’s get the ball rolling,” said Commissioner Don Clark.

Coles County Animal Shelter Hits Full Capacity for Canine Residents

CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — The Coles County Animal Shelter is overflowing with dogs, prompting a heartfelt appeal from the shelter’s manager for local residents to spay and neuter their pets.

Julie Bennett, the shelter’s manager, revealed that all 32 kennels are currently occupied. In just 90 minutes on Monday, the shelter received an additional eight dogs, highlighting the urgent situation.

Judge Halts Construction on Trump’s Controversial Ballroom Amid Legal Dispute

The president demolished the East Wing of the property in order to build a much bigger space, including a massive ballroom.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has issued a temporary injunction to pause the massive project.

In his ruling, Judge Richard J. Leon emphasized, “The President of the United States serves as a caretaker of the White House for upcoming First Families.”

“However, the President is not the proprietor!” he asserted.

In a scathing judgement, Leon declared the president could not carry out extensive renovations without congressional approval.

Judge Leon further noted, “No law remotely grants the President the sweeping authority he purports to have.”

While presidents can oversee “care, maintenance, and repairs,” Leon clarified that current statutes suggest tasks such as replacing lightbulbs, mending broken furniture, and updating wallpaper.

Trump hit back at the judge in a Truth Social post.

“In the Ballroom case, the Judge said we have to get Congressional approval. He is WRONG!” the president wrote.

“Congressional approval has never been given on anything, in these circumstances, big or small, having to do with construction at the White House.

“In this case, even less so, because the Ballroom is being built with Private Donations, no Federal Taxpayer Money!”

It appears Trump did not read the injunction, because the judge had detailed how previously renovations were authorised and funded by Congress.

Leon is an experienced judge who was appointed to the bench by President George W Bush.

“Unless and until Congress blesses this project through statutory authorisation, construction has to stop!” Leon wrote.

The ballroom as it is currently designed has drawn the consternation of architects across the United States.
When Washington DC was planned by Pierre L’Enfant under the instructions of President George Washington, the Capitol was intended to be visible down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Trump’s ballroom would impede that line-of-sight.

Trump’s Supporter Faces Backlash for Unexpected Shift on Iran Conflict Following Disney Controversy

0

The Senate’s most outspoken advocate for military action surprised many by opposing further escalation of the conflict in Iran.

After weeks of urging the President to engage militarily with Iran, Senator Lindsey Graham has now shifted his stance, advising Donald Trump to de-escalate and focus on negotiating a peace agreement.

Graham hinted at a more ambitious objective: encouraging Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords, thereby normalizing its relations with Israel.

“Keep it up, Mr. President,” Graham wrote on X. “Scale back the conflict and ramp up efforts toward a groundbreaking peace agreement.”

However, Graham did not completely rule out the possibility of escalation, indicating that Iranian leaders would need to cooperate for peace efforts to succeed.

‘I support diplomatic efforts to end the conflict consistent with our military objectives, but it takes two to tango,’ he wrote.

But it still represented a major shift in tone from when Graham was cheering the President to ‘take Kharg Island,’ Iran’s main oil hub, which would put American ground troops at risk.

His critics quickly took note of the timing – as he tries to shift the news cycle off his highly panned trip to Disney World amid the partial government shutdown.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham was spotted walking through Space Mountain holding a bubble wand at Disney World in Orlando over the weekend, according to a report from TMZ

Conservative columnist Lydia Moynihan said on CNN: ‘Well, he went to Disney World this weekend, and I think he wants to bring some of that Disney magic back to Washington, D.C., clearly.’

‘Look, I think one thing that’s always been a hallmark of the right is ideological diversity, and I think it’s good for conservatives to push back and make sure that President Trump is not in an echo chamber and that he’s hearing what many in his base think, and so I’m glad to hear that articulated,’ she went on.

Before his Iran U-turn, conservative pundit Megyn Kelly tore into Graham for the optics of the trip.

‘He’s frothing at the mouth right now at the thought of thousands of our soldiers going over there,’ she exclaimed on her SiriusXM show Monday.

‘So what is Lindsey Graham doing to support those troops and the families who are preparing to put their lives on the line? He’s at Disney World.’

She also called out Graham for being a ‘single man with no wife, children or grandchildren’ noting he was talking around the Orlando park ‘with a bubble wand.’

‘There he is in the middle of Disney with a bubble wand. I’m sorry, but motherf***er! Look at him,’ she said of the 70-year-old.

TMZ had asked readers to send in pictures of members of Congress on vacation amid the partial government shutdown, which had left Transportation Security Administration workers without paychecks for weeks, resulting in airport chaos.

Trump signed an executive order last week to pay TSA employees using a different bucket of money, but the standstill is ongoing on Capitol Hill.

TMZ was able to obtain several photos of Graham walking around Disney World – including enjoying a breakfast at Chef Mickey’s and walking through Space Mountain holding a bubble wand.

Graham told the celebrity news site that Disney was just a stopover as he worked toward having Saudi Arabia sign the Abraham Accords.

‘I was invited to a meeting in South Florida on Friday with Trump official Steve Witkoff,’ Graham told TMZ. ‘[T]o talk about the possibility of normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel.’

‘I went to Orlando to meet friends after. I’m already back in South Carolina,’ he added.

Previously, Graham said that he was going to ask South Carolinians ‘to send their sons and daughters over to the Middle East,’ a comment that got swiftly rebuked by several Republicans, including those more aligned with Trump’s non-interventionist MAGA movement.

‘Washington’s war machine is hard at work. They are trying to drag us into Iran to make it another Iraq. We can’t let them,’ GOP Representative Nancy Mace posted to X last week.

‘And yes, when we say Washington’s war machine, we mean Lindsey Graham,’ said Mace, who’s running for South Carolina governor.

Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna, a top MAGA ally of the President, slammed Graham for advocating for ‘war everywhere.’

‘NO BOOTS on the ground. If Senator Graham wants to go fight in a foreign conflict, let him be the first to volunteer,’ Luna wrote

Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, who had been Graham’s closest friend in the Senate, also went after him.

‘Nothing like a single, childless, septuagenarian telling American mothers to send their children to possibly die in a war,’ the mother of three posted to X earlier this month.

Mace reveled in the news Tuesday, that Graham had changed his tune.

‘A week ago Lindsey Graham was ready to sacrifice the lives of 7,000 marines invading Kharg Island,’ Mace said. ‘This week he wants to end the war.’

‘I’m always ahead of the curve. Some people just take longer to catch up,’ the gubernatorial hopeful posted.

The Daily Mail reached out to Graham’s office for comment.
