Inset: Joseph Sellers (Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office). Background: The area in Mesa, Ariz., where Joseph Sellers allegedly stabbed a woman 19 times with a box cutter and “brutally” beat her following a minor car crash that they got into (Google Maps).
In Arizona, a woman suffered a stabbing and severe beating in a Burger King parking lot after she stopped to exchange information following a minor car accident. The man involved in the accident attacked her without any provocation, as reported by local police.
Joseph Sellers, aged 30, faces charges of attempted second-degree murder in connection with the February 20th incident. The victim was hospitalized with significant injuries, including a collapsed lung and 19 stab wounds approximately half an inch deep on her face, neck, and left torso. These injuries resulted in serious and disfiguring harm, according to court documents accessed by Law&Crime.
Details from a probable cause affidavit for Sellers’ arrest reveal that he admitted to police that they had pulled over near a Mesa Burger King. The location was where the woman was discovered in a severely beaten and bleeding condition following their minor traffic collision.
The affidavit states that Sellers claimed anger over the collision and believed he was being “gang stalked.” He stopped to exchange information when the woman reached into her purse. Sellers, aware that Arizona allows open carry of firearms, started hitting her repeatedly for 30 seconds to a minute, aligning with surveillance footage of the episode.
Sellers acknowledged that it was plausible she was simply reaching for her information, but he expressed indifference to this possibility, as noted in the affidavit.
“He admitted his intentions were to harm the victim, and had taken her cell phone afterwards in an attempt to identify if she was following him, even though they were going opposite directions during the side swipe collision,” the affidavit says.
Mesa Police found the victim in the Burger King parking lot, located at 4403 E. Broadway Road, and transported her to the hospital. She also suffered a broken tooth and was “bleeding profusely from her face, neck, and chest” when officers made contact with her, according to cops.
“She attempted to call police after the other driver had departed but found her cell phone missing,” the affidavit says. “[The victim] was able to do so using her smart watch.”
Sellers fled the state after the attack and was located in Las Vegas several days later, according to police. He was allegedly behind the wheel of the same vehicle he was driving on the day of the stabbing, but its rims had been painted a different color. Sellers was also reportedly caught with the victim’s cellphone.
“A search warrant was authored for the defendant’s vehicle, at which time multiple box cutters were located, matching the injuries sustained by the victim,” the affidavit says. “The defendant was interviewed under Miranda, at which time he … admitted to being in a traffic collision with the victim, whom was a complete stranger to him, and engaging in an assault against her.”
Sellers was extradited back to Mesa, Arizona, and booked on charges of attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery, and burglary. He is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on April 2.
Megan Fox cranked up the temperature following a social media snub of her former partner, Machine Gun Kelly.
On Tuesday, the actress stirred up Instagram by posting sultry photos from her bedroom, shortly after she decided to block the musician on the platform.
In the enticing images, Fox can be seen lounging on a bed clad in a plaid micro-skirt, a snug white baby tee, thigh-high socks, and high heels. She accessorized with reading glasses and styled her hair into playful pigtails.
“It is double pleasure to deceive the deceiver,” she intriguingly captioned the post.
The “Transformers” icon opted to block MGK after he persistently left flirtatious remarks on her posts, despite their split.
Fox’s name no longer appears on MGK’s following list, and the comments he wrote on her posts earlier this month no longer show up.
When the “Jennifer’s Body” actress posted a carousel of racy snaps to Instagram on March 3, MGK — aka Machine Gun Kelly and born Colson Baker — seemingly tried to shoot his shot in the comments section.
“Stoked i have your phone number,” he wrote beneath the photos of Fox, 39, rocking a black corset top and thong.
He wrote another suggestive comment on her March 10 Instagram post, where Fox wore a black latex bra, hot pants with the thong straps poking out and thigh-high tights.
“Stoked we had a baby,” the “Lonely Road” hitmaker penned.
The former couple — who began dating in 2020 — ended their on-again, off-again relationship in 2024 while Fox was pregnant with their child.
In January, MGK shut down reports that he and Fox were rekindling their romance.
“Mainstream gossip media is so 🌽 ,” he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time.
But that same month, Fox and the “Bloody Valentine” musician were spotted out with their daughter, Saga Blade, at a restaurant in Calabasas, Calif.
In fact, the exes have been seen together on several occasions with their baby girl, who was born in March 2025.
Tiger Woods has announced a temporary retreat from the public eye to focus on his health following his recent arrest for driving under the influence (DUI). This marks the first time the renowned golfer has addressed the incident publicly.
Woods was detained last Friday after his SUV flipped onto its side while he was attempting to overtake a truck and trailer at high speed in the affluent area of Jupiter Island, Florida. Authorities discovered two pills in his possession during the arrest.
On Tuesday, the 50-year-old golf icon declared his intention to seek professional help, nearly a decade after completing a private program to combat his dependency on painkillers.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” Woods stated. “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
He added, “I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.”
A humiliated Tiger Woods stares down the lens for his mugshot after being arrested for DUI
Woods broke his silence on Tuesday, confirming that he would be taking time away
The 50-year-old is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr.
Woods faces charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit a lawful test. He is due in court next month.
His arrest came just over a week before The Masters amid rising speculation that Woods could make an appearance at Augusta National.
Woods made his return to competitive action during the TGL finals for Jupiter Links last week, just days before the accident, after being sidelined since October following a seventh back surgery.
However, following the scandal of last Friday, Woods has confirmed that he will not be making an appearance as he takes time away for his health.
‘Tiger Woods is a legend of our sport whose impact extends far beyond his achievements on the course,’ the PGA Tour said in a statement released shortly after Woods spoke out.
‘But above all else, Tiger is a person, and our focus is on his health and well-being. Tiger continues to have our full support as he takes this important step.’
This was not Woods’s first issue behind the wheel. He was arrested for another DUI in 2017 after police found him slumped in his car in Florida with five drugs in his system, including two painkillers.
Tests found the active ingredient for marijuana, two painkillers – Vicodin and Dilaudid – he sleep drug Ambien and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.
Woods’ life turned upside down with his car when he was involved in a high-speed crash

He later claimed he’d been self-medicating for pain caused by his fourth back surgery and insomnia. Woods did not specifically address the marijuana issue and he wasn’t found with any of the drug in his possession.
Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving and received a year of probation, a $250 fine and was ordered to undergo 50 hours of community service. He was also banned from drinking alcohol during the probation.
In July of that year, Woods completed a private program to address his dependency on painkillers.
At the time, Woods announced that he would ‘tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends.’
Woods was later involved in a similar crash in 2021 in California, which shattered his right leg after he was trapped under the vehicle. He needed multiple surgeries in order to recover from his injuries.
He also crashed into a fire hydrant in November 2009 as he tried to flee his Florida home after wife Elin Nordegren discovered he had been having an affair. It sparked an unraveling of his reputation that he has never truly recovered from.
Woods, who told officers he had taken sleeping pills that night, reportedly attempted to escape in his SUV, only to have Nordegren follow him in a golf cart. Neighbors ultimately found Woods unconscious and bloody before calling 911.
A long succession of other women – porn stars, strippers, prostitutes, hostesses, waitresses and more – soon came forward claiming they had slept with Woods.
The golf icon was arrested for another DUI in 2017 after police found him slumped in his car
After his 2017 arrest, Woods was found with five drugs in his system, including two painkillers
Earlier on Tuesday, he entered a plea of not guilty for his latest DUI, hiring cut-throat attorney Douglas Duncan to represent him.
Duncan also fought Woods’ legal battles in 2017 when the golfing icon faces similar DUI charges.
After clambering out of the passenger side window of his vehicle following Friday’s incident, Woods refused to give a urine sample to cops.
An arrest affidavit seen by the Daily Mail has since revealed that the golf icon, 50, told police officers he was ‘looking down at this cell phone and changing the radio station’ before his rollover crash on Jupiter Island.
When officers searched Woods, they discovered two white pills inside the left pocket of his trousers. They were marked ‘M367,’ which is hydrocodone. It is a highly-addictive opioid used to treat severe or chronic pain.
Woods, who has battled addiction to painkillers in the past, was also said to be ‘sweating profusely’ after the incident and an officer noticed his movement was ‘lethargic and slow.’ He was also said to have been battling hiccups.
The 15-time major winner’s eyes were also said to be ‘bloodshot and glassy’ and his pupils ‘extremely dilated.’ When asked if he is currently taking any prescription medication, Woods replied: ‘I take a few.’
Joseph Duggar has surfaced in the news following his recent release from incarceration.
Duggar’s attorney, Albert Sauline, informed Us Weekly on Tuesday, March 31, that Joseph is “currently flying out of Panama City Beach airport with his father, Jim Bob Duggar.” Sauline added, “Jim Bob was in Panama City Beach but was not present in the courtroom this morning.”
Joseph, who is 31 years old, secured his release on Tuesday after a bail bondsman acted on the family’s behalf, according to Sauline’s statement.
Earlier on the same day, Joseph was detained in Florida as confirmed by the Bay County Jail. The former star of “Counting On” faced arrest in Arkansas earlier this month on grave charges involving lewd and lascivious acts, specifically molestation of a victim under the age of 12, and inappropriate behavior by an adult.
As his legal proceedings unfold, Joseph Duggar has submitted a plea of not guilty in the child molestation case. Court documents obtained by Us Weekly reveal that Duggar, 31, filed a written plea of not guilty and has requested a jury trial on Sunday, March 29. The Bay County Jail verified Duggar’s status on Tuesday, March 31.
According to records viewed by Us on Tuesday, Joseph entered a written plea of not guilty and requested a jury trial. Joseph was subsequently released on a $600,000 bond.
Joseph stands accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in 2020 during a family trip to Florida. According to an affidavit obtained by Us, the alleged victim told a Arkansas’s Tontitown Police Department detective in a forensic interview that there were “several instances of sexual abuse” involving Joseph.
The girl recalled feeling “uncomfortable” and “confused” during the alleged incidents. She claimed that Joseph “apologized for his actions” and “the incidents stopped occurring.”
In addition to the child molestation allegations, both Joseph and his wife, Kendra Duggar, have been charged with four additional counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree. Kendra, 27, was arrested on the same charges earlier and subsequently released on a $1,470 bond.
A spokesperson for the Duggar family told Us in a statement, “[Kendra’s] is a misdemeanor charge totally unrelated to the Florida case.”
UPDATE 3/31/26 at 2:05 p.m. ET — Us Weekly can confirm Joseph Duggar is out of custody after posting his $600,000 bond on Tuesday, March 31. Original story below: Joseph Duggar’s bond has been set after his arrest on child molestation charges. “He’s asking to be treated as fairly as anyone else, regardless of his […]
A source with knowledge of the case exclusively told Us that Kendra’s arrest “has nothing to do with Joseph’s” molestation charge.
“After his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there. They came to her house,” the insider said. “Apparently, they had two rooms where the lock of the doorknob was on the outside instead of inside. They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids.”
Joseph and Kendra tied the knot in 2017 following a brief engagement. The couple share four children: Garrett, Addison, Brooklyn and Justus.

Dayton Webber, known both for being a quadruple amputee and a professional in the sport of cornhole, is now facing serious legal troubles. Accused of shooting a friend to death, his most recent mugshot from Maryland shows a pallid and weary appearance.
On Tuesday, the 27-year-old was brought back from Virginia, where he reportedly escaped following the fatal incident on March 22 that resulted in the death of Bradrick Michael Wells. Webber is now charged with first- and second-degree murder, along with a firearm offense, in Charles County, Maryland, where the latest booking photo was taken.
Authorities allege that Webber fired two shots at Wells’ head and then solicited help from witnesses to dispose of the body in La Plata.
Details from Detective Mark Bigelow with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reveal that on March 22, Webber used his white Tesla to pick up two acquaintances who joined him in the back seat. The witnesses, whose identities remain confidential, reported that Wells was in the front passenger seat when they got into the car.
Around that time, a “heated argument” reportedly broke out between Webber and Wells, both aged 27, as documented by Bigelow.
‘During the argument, Webber pulled a gun out and shot the victim twice in the head,’ the detective added.
Webber allegedly asked the backseat passengers to help him remove the victim from his car, but they refused and exited the vehicle before he sped off with Wells’ body still in the front passenger seat.

Dayton Webber, now 27, said his passion for cornhole began when he was about 8
According to charging documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Wells’ body was found in a yard on Newport Church Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland. He was pronounced dead at the scene
According to charging documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Wells’ body was later found in a yard on Newport Church Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Webber reportedly became a quadruple amputee as a baby due to a blood infection that ultimately led to sepsis.
‘They suggested he be baptized and given his last rites,’ Webber’s mother, Natalie, told ESPN in 2023. ‘That just didn’t enter my thoughts that I was going to lose him.’
Ultimately, his arms were amputated just above the elbow, giving him the ability to pin objects between his upper arms. It’s this trait that allowed him to become a competitive cornhole player, ultimately joining the American Cornhole League in 2023.
‘At first, it took me a little while to get it there to the board consistently,’ he told ESPN of his cornhole obsession, which began at age 8. ‘I was able to compensate the grip on the bag by just grabbing the corner of it with me propelling myself forward.
‘It’s something I’ve been doing my whole life, is overcoming things that people didn’t think I can do.’
Interestingly, this was the second piece ESPN did on Webber. As a 12-year-old wrestler in Maryland, he was featured in an ESPN.com article.
‘I like wrestling better than any other sport,’ he told ESPN.com. ‘I like using my strength and being fit. And I don’t have to rely on other people to do stuff for me like you do in football. Sometimes when I watch my teammates in certain situations I wish I had hands, but I just try to do things my own way.’
Webber is due back in court next month.
According to former girlfriend Tori Mattingly, Webber has an ‘angry dark side’ that many people are unaware of.
Mattingly told TMZ that the pair were initially friends before they dated for four years until they split in February 2025. After their relationship ended, she also became romantically involved with Wells.
She claims that Webber would often ‘lash out’ during his furious outbursts when they were together, but he refused to seek help after she urged him to go to therapy over his anger issues.
They went their separate ways in February of of 2025 because he wasn’t prepared to change his ways, Mattingly explained.
Webber’s ex also shared a video with TMZ which shows him screaming at her for not letting him use her car.
‘I asked you to get off my property!’ he is heard shouting repeatedly in the clip.
Webber was diagnosed with a bacterial infection as a child that ultimately led to sepsis
Dayton Webber is an avid outdoorsman, in addition to being a professional cornhole player
As a result, Mattingly says she ‘isn’t surprised’ by the murder allegations against Webber.
She also took aim at those sympathizing with her former partner in an emotional post on Facebook, writing: ‘Watching people say ‘this doesn’t sound like him’ or ‘he would never do that’ is honestly sickening. You didn’t live with him. I did.
‘For four years, I saw the side of him that nobody else wanted to believe existed. The anger. The control. The abuse. The kind of darkness you don’t just ‘mistake.’ The kind that makes you feel unsafe in your own home, in your own skin.
‘So no… I’m not shocked he’s being convicted of murder. Because I know what he’s capable of. I lived it. Every single day.’
Victoria’s nation-first phone ban was first introduced to government schools in 2020 and will now capture all schools, including private and Catholic, from January 28, 2027.
In a significant move to enhance focus and learning environments, new legislation unveiled today prohibits students from using smartphones and wearable technology, such as Apple Watches and wireless earbuds, during school hours.

Under the updated law, students must turn off their mobile phones and store them away until the school day ends. Meanwhile, wearable devices are required to have their internet connectivity, recording capabilities, and notification alerts disabled.
Victoria is set to become the pioneer state in Australia to impose such restrictions on wearable technology within school premises.
Exemptions will be made for students who need these devices for medical reasons.
In emergency situations, parents or guardians can still contact their children by calling the school directly.
Students were found to be more focused during classwork and more social during breaks after the ban was first introduced in 2020, according to an independent review.
Government schools also reported fewer incidents involving phones.
“The evidence shows it worked and now we’re going further, so every Victorian student, in every Victorian school, can put their phone away and focus on learning,” Victoria’s Education Minister Ben Carroll said.
Victorian Deputy Premier and Education Minister Ben Carroll. (Eddie Jim.)
The universal, state-wide ban will reduce screen time and encourage more “learning time” for students, Premier Jacinta Allan added.
Independent and Catholic school bosses have supported the imminent legislation.
“We welcome today’s announcement and acknowledge the government’s efforts to balance access to electronic devices with the need to support positive learning environments and student wellbeing,” Independent Schools Victoria Chief Executive Rachel Holthouse said.
After Victoria introduced the ban in 2020, almost every other Australian states and territory followed suit with similar legislation.

Pair metformin with low‑sugar, high‑fiber meals for steady blood sugar.
For those newly prescribed metformin, it’s essential to recognize how dietary choices can impact both blood sugar levels and the medication’s side effects. As a primary treatment for type 2 diabetes, metformin is most effective when combined with a considerate, low-impact diet. Below is a practical guide to optimizing your diet for better results with metformin, highlighting foods to avoid, to include, and ways to enhance its benefits.
Avoid sugary drinks, fried foods, and heavy alcohol use.
Metformin is instrumental in managing type 2 diabetes by enhancing the body’s insulin utilization and reducing the liver’s glucose output. Unlike some diabetes treatments that increase insulin production, metformin works by boosting insulin sensitivity and decreasing glucose production, potentially aiding in weight maintenance or even promoting slight weight loss over time.
Choose low‑glycemic fruits, lean proteins, and healthy fats daily.
Dr. Daniel Atkinson, clinical lead at Treated, explains, “Metformin is effective and widely used because it acts on multiple pathways that contribute to high blood sugar, from the liver to the muscles and gut.” By addressing the fundamental causes of insulin resistance, metformin is often the first medication doctors recommend when lifestyle adjustments alone are insufficient for maintaining blood glucose within the recommended range.
What is metformin?
Metformin is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes by helping the body use insulin more effectively and reducing the amount of sugar the liver releases into the bloodstream. It does not raise insulin levels like some other diabetes drugs; instead, it improves insulin sensitivity and lowers glucose production, which can support weight‑neutral or even modest weight‑loss effects over time.
According to Daniel Atkinson, MD, clinical lead at Treated, “Metformin is effective and widely used because it acts on multiple pathways that contribute to high blood sugar, from the liver to the muscles and gut.” Because it targets core mechanisms behind insulin resistance, it is often the first medication a doctor will try when lifestyle changes alone are not enough to keep blood glucose in the target range.
As global diabetes rates rise—around 537 million adults had diabetes in 2021, with numbers projected to climb—the role of drugs like metformin alongside diet and physical activity has become even more important.
Common side effects of metformin
Metformin is usually well tolerated, but many people experience mild, short‑term side effects when they start taking it. The most common are gastrointestinal issues such as:
Nausea or stomach discomfort
Bloating and gas
Diarrhea or constipation
A feeling of fullness or decreased appetite
Occasional metallic taste in the mouth
These symptoms often improve over a few weeks as the body adjusts, especially if the dose is started low and increased gradually. In rare cases, metformin can cause a serious condition called lactic acidosis, particularly in people with kidney or liver problems or those who drink heavily, which is why doctors review alcohol intake and kidney function before starting therapy.
Understanding these side effects helps you see why certain foods can make you feel worse, and why others can smooth out both blood sugar and digestion.
Foods to avoid while taking metformin
Sugary drinks and desserts
High‑sugar foods and beverages can spike blood glucose quickly, increasing the workload on metformin and making it harder to keep levels steady. The American Heart Association classifies items such as soda, sweetened coffee drinks, energy drinks, ice cream, and many breakfast cereals as common sources of added sugar.
For someone on metformin, pouring sugar into the tank is a bit like trying to drive a fuel‑efficient car while adding extra fuel that does not burn cleanly. Instead of grabbing a candy bar or soda when you feel tired, consider that repeated sugar hits can undo the stabilizing effect of the medication and increase the risk of weight gain and heart‑related complications over time.
Fried and very fatty foods
Fried and high‑fat meals can change how metformin is absorbed and may worsen common gut side effects. Studies suggest that fatty foods can slow or interfere with the drug’s uptake, which may mean you need a higher dose to achieve the same effect.
Regularly eating fried chicken, deep‑fried plantain, sausages, or fatty meats like bacon and ribs can also bump up cholesterol and triglyceride levels, which is not ideal for people managing diabetes and cardiovascular risk. That does not mean fat is the enemy, but choosing how it comes to your plate matters.
Alcohol‑heavy patterns
While small amounts of alcohol may be acceptable for some people on metformin, heavy or frequent drinking raises several concerns. Alcohol can lower blood sugar and increase the risk of hypoglycemia, especially if meals are skipped or meters are not checked often.
More importantly, alcohol together with metformin can strain the liver and slightly raise the already rare risk of lactic acidosis, particularly in people with kidney issues or liver disease. That is why many clinicians recommend limiting alcohol or skipping it entirely, and discussing patterns of drinking with the prescribing doctor.
Herbal “karela” or bitter‑melon–based supplements
Some people with diabetes turn to bitter melon (karela) because of its traditional reputation for lowering blood sugar. However, combining karela‑based supplements or strong herbal teas with metformin can increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
There is not enough large‑scale evidence to define a safe, standard dose for bitter‑melon products, so their effect can be unpredictable. That means adding them on top of metformin without medical supervision can lead to blood‑sugar levels dropping too low, especially if you are also trying to cut carbohydrates or exercise more.
Four swaps to protect your blood sugar and metformin
Foods to Avoid While Taking Metformin for Better Blood Sugar
Trade sugary foods for low‑glycemic fruit
Low‑glycemic fruits help satisfy a sweet tooth without sending glucose on a roller‑coaster ride. Examples include berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries), apples, pears, oranges, grapefruit, plums, peaches, and cherries. These fruits are rich in fiber and antioxidants, which support slower glucose absorption and better insulin sensitivity.
A small bowl of mixed berries or a fresh apple with the skin can be a smarter mid‑day snack than a packaged pastry or candy bar. Blueberries in particular have a glycemic index around 53, which is considered low and suitable for people watching their blood sugar.
Trade fried foods for baked or grilled fare
Swapping frying for baking, grilling, or air‑frying reduces saturated fat and may improve how metformin is absorbed. Instead of deep‑fried chicken or plantain, try baked chicken with skin removed, grilled fish, or roasted vegetables tossed lightly in olive oil.
These choices still provide flavor and satisfaction but are gentler on digestion and the cardiovascular system. Over time, this pattern can help manage weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol, all of which are important for people with type 2 diabetes.
Trade foods containing karela with safer herbal seasonings
If you enjoy herbal teas or traditional remedies, you can keep flavor without the extra blood‑sugar risk by using gentler herbs and seasonings. Options such as cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, and fresh herbs like basil or thyme can add depth to meals without potent blood‑glucose effects.
These seasonings can be used in soups, stews, or sauces instead of relying on karela‑based supplements. Cinnamon, for example, has been studied for modest effects on insulin sensitivity, though doses should remain culinary rather than medicinal unless a doctor agrees.
Trade alcohol for mocktails and non‑alcoholic drinks
Instead of alcoholic drinks, many people on metformin find success with non‑alcoholic “mocktail” options that still feel celebratory. Examples include sparkling water with lemon or lime, unsweetened herbal tea, or fruit‑infused water with a small slice of orange or cucumber.
If you choose to drink alcohol at all, it is generally safer to do so with food, avoid sugary mixers, and keep the amount light. Discussing your habits with a doctor helps tailor advice to your kidney function, other medications, and blood‑sugar patterns.
The bottom line on foods to eat and avoid on metformin
For most people, the goal is not perfection but pattern: more whole foods, fewer ultra‑processed items, and a focus on steady, low‑glycemic fuel. Emphasizing vegetables, legumes, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats creates a foundation that supports metformin instead of working against it.
Fiber is especially helpful; it slows glucose absorption and feeds beneficial gut bacteria, which can also ease some of the digestive side effects of metformin. Foods like artichokes, Brussels sprouts, lentils, chickpeas, oats, and beans are excellent sources of this stabilizing fiber.
Protein‑rich options such as plain Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu, fish, and poultry can help you feel fuller longer and reduce the urge to snack on sugary or fried foods. When paired with a small amount of healthy fat—avocado, olive oil, nuts, or seeds—these meals can support steady blood sugar throughout the day.
Above all, consistency matters more than any single “miracle” food. Regular meals, portion control, and regular physical activity help metformin work as intended and reduce the risk of long‑term complications.

Jabari Bush faces charges of murder, home invasion, and illegal possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting death of 41-year-old Terrence Cramer, as reported by the Stratford Police Department.
Police were dispatched to a home on Feeley Street at 1:44 a.m. on Saturday, where they found Cramer suffering from a severe gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, paramedics declared him dead shortly thereafter.
Authorities apprehended Bush later that day following a brief car chase. According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, Bush’s ex-girlfriend recounted being asleep beside Cramer when she was startled awake by someone in her bedroom, whom she identified as Bush.
The affidavit reveals that Bush reportedly exclaimed, “you’re here with another man!” before allegedly striking her in the face. She described seeing “sparks” similar to gunfire and then heard Cramer cry out, “I just got shot!”
Cramer suffered a gunshot wound to his right inner thigh and was lying in a pool of blood when cops found him.
Investigators later reviewed Ring doorbell camera footage that “clearly identifies Bush” as the man standing in front of her door throughout the night, the affidavit said. He allegedly entered the apartment through an unlocked door.
The woman told detectives she had dated Bush for about five years, but the relationship ended in March 2025. They dated on and off until January before she dumped him for good, per the complaint. She then started a relationship with Cramer in February.
She said Bush began calling her incessantly in March, which caused her to block his number while she also ignored his repeated Facebook messages. Bush also showed up to her work one day. When she ignored him, he began to “yell at her angrily,” according to the complaint.
Cramer served in the Bridgeport Fire Department for nearly a decade.
“Chief Edwards and the members of the Bridgeport Fire Department are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Firefighter Terrence Cramer,” the agency said in a statement. “Firefighter Cramer served the City of Bridgeport with dedication and honor for 9.5 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and safety of others. Firefighter Cramer was not only a valued member of our department, but also a friend, colleague, and public servant who will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Firefighter Cramer’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Bush remains in jail on a $3 million bond. His next court date is set for April 14.
