A Frontier Airlines flight faced an unexpected detour to a secluded runway at Atlanta’s airport on Sunday after a passenger issued a bomb threat. This led to an immediate law enforcement response, though the threat was eventually declared non-credible.

Frontier Flight 2539, traveling from Columbus, Ohio, had just touched down at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and was en route to its gate when the passenger reportedly made the alarming verbal threat.

In response to the situation and in collaboration with local authorities, the aircraft was directed to a remote part of the airport where law enforcement officials promptly addressed the issue.

Passengers were safely evacuated using airstairs and transported to the terminal by bus. Official assessments concluded that the threat posed no real danger.

The FBI and Atlanta Police Department told Fox News the incident remains under investigation, with Atlanta police taking the lead.

Atlanta police would not say whether anyone has been arrested.

A luxury vacation rental near Yosemite National Park has become embroiled in a criminal investigation following allegations that a homeowner transformed the serene retreat into a covert surveillance operation, complete with unsettling materials.

The property, located in Oakhurst, California, a popular stop for visitors en route to Yosemite, is now at the center of accusations against 44-year-old Christian Parmalee Edwards. Authorities claim Edwards secretly filmed guests during their most private moments without their consent.

The investigation was triggered on March 19 when detectives from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Granite Butte Way. This action came after receiving an alert from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), leading to grim discoveries.

According to the sheriff’s office, more than 4,000 digital files containing Child Sexual Abuse Material were uncovered during the search. The investigation was a collaborative effort with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Authorities accuse Edwards of utilizing the property as a short-term rental, all while surreptitiously recording guests without their awareness.

Investigators say the recordings were not made using sophisticated hidden devices but in a far more unsettling way.

In addition to the videos, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told Fox News that detectives also found Edwards in possession of ‘a lifelike child doll designed for sexual use,’ adding that ‘the doll’s hands were bound.’

Officials characterized the findings as evidence of behavior moving beyond digital consumption into increasingly alarming territory.

‘What detectives have found so far was that he was actually on site recording through cracks in the blinds in little private areas,’ Madera County Sheriff’s Office Director of Communications Kate Woertman told ABC30.

Sheriff Tyson Pogue described the disturbing scope of the alleged behavior in stark terms saying Edwards ‘secretly videotaping children clothed, but like zooming into inappropriate places on children.’

Detectives believe victims include between 10 and 15 women and at least one young child. 

Some footage allegedly captured individuals without clothing, according to investigators. 

The search of the home revealed what officials describe as a pattern of escalating behavior.

Investigators seized roughly 30 electronic devices, which they say contained thousands of illegal files. 

Authorities also reported finding new children’s clothing inside the home.

‘We found some brand-new children’s underwear. So, you can see the escalation here, that at some point he was probably going to become a hands-on offender,’ Sheriff Pogue said.

Officials say the property was used as a short-term vacation rental advertised online and privately. Detectives believe the recordings may date back to at least 2023

Authorities say Edwards was taken into custody while actively viewing footage he had recorded.

‘His last rental checked out on March 16. The video he was actually watching on his phone when detectives opened that phone was the recording from March 16,’ Sheriff Pogue said.

The sheriff’s office believes the property had been rented out since at least 2023 and formally listed as a short-term rental in 2025, raising fears that numerous guests may have been unknowingly recorded.

‘It’s a hub for worldwide tourism, so this was a typically commercial rented short-term rental,’ Pogue said, noting the home was also advertised through private channels like Facebook and Craigslist.

Residents in the quiet Oakhurst neighborhood say they had no idea what was allegedly unfolding.

‘I really hope they don’t let him out. Right now, it’s safe, and we didn’t even know we were in danger,’ neighbor Anthony Polfer told Action News.

Another local, Amy Gray, said she and her children narrowly avoided staying at the home.

‘He even offered me to move in over there at one point and pay him rent,’ she said.

Edwards was booked into the Madera County Jail on felony charges related to child sexual abuse material

Authorities note the case is still in its early stages, with thousands of files and devices still to be fully analyzed.

‘All electronic devices associated with Edwards were seized for further examination as part of the ongoing investigation,’ the sheriff’s office said.

In an unexpected twist of fate, a Kentucky man who transformed from a life of crime to a multi-millionaire overnight after winning a $167.3 million Powerball is now facing allegations of a puzzling theft. The man, James Farthing, 51, is accused of stealing $12,000 during a baffling home break-in over the weekend, a sum that pales in comparison to his lottery windfall.

According to Lex18, Farthing was apprehended on charges of second-degree burglary and marijuana possession. Security cameras reportedly caught him entering a home in Lexington on Saturday night.

Farthing is alleged to have taken $12,000 in cash and fled the scene in a black Porsche. Authorities later stopped him, noticing a marijuana blunt in the car and discovering additional marijuana during a subsequent search, as reported by the outlet, referencing an arrest citation.

He was smoothly taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Detention Center.

This incident marks Farthing’s third arrest since his lottery victory nearly a year ago.

The greedy burglar has spent the majority of his life behind bars at 25 different correctional institutions before claiming the state’s largest jackpot in April, alongside his 77-year-old mother, Linda Grizzle, and girlfriend, Jacqueline Fightmaster, the Smoking Gun previously reported.

Just days after toasting to the massive prize, the tatted-up criminal was cuffed in Florida for allegedly slugging a hotel guest in the face and kicking a deputy who tried to intervene. He pleaded guilty to the case earlier this month, according to Lex 18.

Farthing also violated his parole by leaving Kentucky without notifying his parole officer.

In February, he was charged in Scott County with intimidating a participant in the legal process after a woman reported to dispatchers that people at a residence had a weapon and wanted to hurt her, WKYT reported.

Farthing allegedly picked up the woman for a pre-arranged meet-up, where the overnight millionaire pressured her to take a “gummy,” she told police, according to the outlet.

Cops found marijuana and a gun after responding to the scene. Farthing is slated to go to court in April for that case.

Farthing still has other active cases, including a hit-and-run charge in Fayette County, Lex18 reported.

The frequent offender began committing crimes when he was just a teenager, with arrests on charges ranging from theft to reckless driving.

He only completed 10 years of formal schooling and earned his GED in prison, the Smoking Gun reported.

Illinois standout Andrej Stojakovic emphasized that the team’s ambitions extend far beyond their recent triumph.

“I want everyone to understand this isn’t the end for us,” he stated. “Reaching the Final Four isn’t our final goal. We’re here to win two more games.”

Freshman Keaton Wagler scored 25 points and Illinois ended Iowa’s underdog March Madness run by dominating in the frontcourt, beating the Hawkeyes 71-59 on Saturday to end a Final Four drought that dated to 2005.

“It’s better than I dreamt it would ever be,” coach Brad Underwood said. “Thirty-nine years in the business and that’s all I’m going to say about my side of this. This is about these guys.”

This will be the sixth trip to the Final Four for Illinois, which has never won a national title.

“This is what kids dream of,” said Wagler, who was named the South Region’s Most Outstanding Player. “I know I dreamed of this when I was growing up, playing in the Final Four, competing for a national championship. To be able to do it with the people around me, teammates, coaches, fans, managers, everyone, it means a lot … but we’re not done yet.”

Underwood’s emphasis on recruiting Eastern Europeans has paid off in this tournament. Tomislav Ivisic of Croatia, who stands 7-foot-1, and his 7-2 twin brother Zvonimir have shined in March.

The much taller Illini (28-8) outrebounded Iowa 38-21. David Mirkovic led the way with 12 rebounds. Illinois also outscored Iowa 40-12 in the paint.

“We were dominant on the glass from the first minute, even in the beginning of the game,” Tomislav Ivisic said. “They started the game better, but rebounding kept us in the game.”

Stojakovic, who was born in Greece but whose father is Serbian three-time NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic, scored 17 points for third-seeded Illinois. His dad watched proudly as his son punched his ticket to the Final Four, and Wagler’s parents – who met when they played basketball at a junior college in Kansas – cheered wildly throughout for their son.

“He gets probably not near enough credit for how tough he is because he’s very unemotional and very stoic,” Underwood said of the 19-year-old Wagler. “But he’s tougher than nails.”

Bennett Stirtz scored 24 points for the ninth-seeded Hawkeyes (24-13), who knocked off top-seeded Florida in the second round as part of an impressive run under first-year coach Ben McCollum, a four-time Division II national champion at Northwest Missouri State. Stirtz played for McCollum there, then followed him to Drake and finally Iowa.

The Illini went on an 8-0 run, with four points from Tomislav Ivisic, to take a 58-51 lead with less than five minutes remaining.

Isaia Howard made one of two free throws for Iowa after that, but an alley-oop dunk by Zvonimir Ivisic pushed the lead to 60-52 with about four minutes to go.

Sage Tate hit four consecutive free throws for Iowa to get the Hawkeyes within four with two minutes to go. But Stojakovic added a layup for Illinois before Wagler made two free throws to make it 67-59.

“Our lack of shooting caught up with us,” McCollum said. “I think that we couldn’t space it, and so when you can’t space it, you can’t get to the rim. So it just became a problem where we were having to take tough 3s.”

It was the second meeting this season for these Big Ten rivals. Illinois won 75-69 on Jan. 11.

Illinois never led in the first half but took its first lead just after halftime. There were a dozen lead changes before the Illini pulled away.

Buzzkill

The game was delayed for about 10 minutes in the first half because of a buzzer malfunction that caused the horn to blare nonstop for seven minutes.

“Nothing I can control. … Just move on, move forward,” McCollum said. “It didn’t probably impact the fact that we gave up 16 (offensive) boards.”

All-tournament honors for 3 Illini

Along with Wagler, teammates Mirkovic and Stojakovic were also named to the all-tournament team for the region. Rounding out the team were Stirtz and Nebraska’s Pryce Sandfort.

A Lebanese-born man, accused of driving an explosive-laden vehicle into a synagogue near Detroit earlier this month, recorded a haunting video in the parking lot shortly before the incident, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, 41, a naturalized American citizen, proclaimed his plan to commit mass murder at what he claimed was the largest gathering of Israelis in Michigan on March 12, according to the footage.

While the synagogue included a preschool, fortunately, no children were harmed during the attack. However, one security guard sustained injuries, and the perpetrator ultimately shot himself as his vehicle erupted into flames.

The Daily Mail has obtained an exclusive screenshot from the video, showing the suspect with a stern expression outside Temple Israel. He is seen wearing a keffiyeh and poised with a high-powered weapon.

This evidence, among other findings, has led federal authorities to officially classify the incident as a terrorist attack.

Evidence includes photos, videos, and messages he sent to his sister in Lebanon while in the parking lot, including some he made while sitting in his car outside the temple in West Bloomfield the morning of the attack.

The source who provided the screen grab said it comes from footage of Ghazali playing ‘Hatha al-Sha’b ilayka nidaa,’ a revolutionary anthem in the Arab world which translates to: ’This people is a call to you.’

The chant, a declaration of loyalty and a plea for divine intervention, praises martyrs who die for their cause and includes a shoutout to southern Lebanon and Hezbollah, the terrorist group based there, the source said.

He then shot a second video playing a chant that supports the bombing of enemies and attacks on their fortresses.

He also posted a meme that morning to his collection entitled ‘Vengeance,’ with the message: ’There is no need to learn Hebrew anymore.’

The Daily Mail also obtained a photo of Ghazali at a gun range two days before the attack, showing him in a black jacket, wearing plugs in his ears as he stared down the barrel of a rifle.

Ghazali sent nearly two dozen images and messages to his sister that morning, sharing his Hezbollah-inspired ideology, references to martyrdom and his commitment to attack on what he described as Israelis, but in reality, was a reform synagogue of mostly Jewish Americans.

Another photo obtained by the Daily Mail shows the interior wreckage caused by the attack.

Fox News had released one photo of the shooter taken days before the attack, showing him posing with the rifle. That photo was also sent to the sister, the outlet reported.

Authorities said Ghazali drove almost 40 miles from his home in Dearborn Heights to the synagogue complex, which includes a preschool and childcare center.

Ghazali rammed a truck through the building’s entrance before security guards opened fire.

The attacker eventually shot himself after becoming trapped in the vehicle as it caught on fire. It was filled with commercial-grade fireworks and several jugs of gasoline.

Ghazali lived in a $315,600 home in nearby Dearborn Heights, and he worked at Hamido, a popular Middle Eastern eatery, where regulars say he was the ‘face of the restaurant.’ 

The gunman lost four family members – two brothers, a niece, and a nephew – in an Israeli airstrike in his native Lebanon shortly before he attacked the synagogue, authorities confirmed.
