Howie Mandel Apologizes to Kelly Ripa for On-Air Tension: What Led to the Unexpected Moment

0

Howie Mandel has extended an apology to Kelly Ripa following a tense moment during his guest appearance on “Live With Kelly and Mark” earlier this week.

The 70-year-old television host appeared on Monday’s episode alongside Ripa and her co-host, who is also her husband, Mark Consuelos.

During the show, the conversation turned to Mandel’s youthful appearance, with Ripa expressing disbelief at how well he’s aged, suggesting it “doesn’t make any sense.” Mandel responded sharply, indicating he wasn’t pleased with the way the compliment was given.

On Saturday, Mandel took to Instagram to clarify the situation, stating that his reaction was intended as a joke.

Standing by a picturesque sandy shore, Mandel shared with his followers, “I’ve been contemplating for 48 hours whether this post is necessary, and I’m still unsure if it’s the right decision.”

‘Philosophically, I don’t believe that somebody who’s a comedian needs to apologize for a joke. It is a joke, it is meant as a joke, and it’s not meant to offend.’

At one point, the pair brought up how great he looked at his age with Ripa saying that 'it doesn't make any sense.' However, he clapped back by explaining he did not like how the compliment was phrased; Ripa seen earlier this month in L.A.

Mandel then admitted ‘this is hard for me’ before giving a message directly to Ripa.

He expressed that she has been ‘incredibly supportive’ of him over the years and added, ‘Not only have I been a guest on her show, but I have cohosted with her and I have known her for years.’

The star said that when he ‘goes out there, I just try to be entertaining and funny.

‘And sometimes as a comedian, things don’t land the way you mean them to land. And… I don’t know how to say this…’

Following a brief pause, Mandel stated, ‘Not only do I want to say I’m sorry to Kelly but – and this is the hardest part – you’re right. You’re absolutely right, and I’m sorry I didn’t see it that way.

‘But after a lot of thought and self reflection, I… I look great for my age, I really do. I really… I look fantastic. And I just have to embrace the fact that I look this good,’ he said in conclusion.

In the caption of his latest post, the comedian simply typed out: ‘Message to @kellyripa.’

Earlier this week on Monday, Mandel joined Ripa and Consuelos on Live With Kelly And Mark.

His appearance came five months after the America’s Got Talent judge celebrated his 70th birthday last year in November.

However, the couple then expressed their disbelief over his age – much to Mandel’s chagrin.

‘It doesn’t make any sense,’ Ripa began, before Mandel interjected, asking: ‘What do you mean it doesn’t make any sense? That I look great?’

Ripa and Consuelos then scrambled to defuse the situation, as Mandel told them he didn’t like the way they phrased the compliment.

‘No. No. No,’ he told the couple. ‘I don’t like that because that’s a caveat. When you tell someone you’re 70, and they say you look great… ‘

Ripa chimed in again during the tense moment, assuring the actor that’s not what they meant.

‘We’re not saying you look great for 70 [years old],’ the TV host assured him. ‘We’re saying you look great and I don’t believe you’re 70.’

'No. No. No,' he told the couple. 'I don't like that because that's a caveat. When you tell someone you're 70, and they say you look great... '

‘We’re not saying you look great for 70 [years old],’ the TV host assured him. ‘We’re saying you look great and I don’t believe you’re 70’

However, Mandel refused to let the comment go, explaining to the pair why it offended him.

‘No. No. It’s like saying you’re smart for a stupid person,’ he told them. ‘”Oh, you seem smart, you seem smart,” you see, no, I don’t look good.’

Thankfully, he then attempted to lighten the mood as he jokingly agreed he looks ‘gorgeous’ before sharing his workout routine with the hosts.

‘Your friend, [TV show host] Jerry O’Connell, got me into the most ridiculous workout I’ve ever done in my life,’ he shared.

‘I swim but have these cables which I tie onto my ankles and then I attach them to whatever is at the side of the pool,’ he continued.

‘Then he gave me these frying pan paddles and I swim for an hour and go nowhere,’ he exclaimed, adding he gets ‘so lost in it.’

Mandel said he takes them everywhere when traveling for work, joking that he’s scared a few kids in hotel pools.

‘You’re doing everything we’ve trained children not to do in a pool,’ Ripa joked.

Mandel has previously discussed aging and during an interview with Health Insight back in 2022, he opened up about his success and happiness before turning 70.

‘You learn, and you get a perspective. What was important to me in my 30s is not important to me now.’

He added, ‘And you realize that things you chase don’t matter, and it’s just the ability to get up and even chase something. It’s about doing, just doing.’

The star expressed the importance of getting up and tackling your goals.

‘Just get up and do it. We all have goals –  I want to be older, I want to be taller, I want to be richer, I want to be famous, and so on.’

Mandel continued, ‘And if you achieve any of these things you’re trying to achieve, they’re never the reason for your contentment or happiness.’

Open Heaven 30 March 2026 – Conduits Of Power

Open Heaven 30 March 2026 Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Conduits Of Power

Open Heaven 30 March 2026 TOPIC – Conduits Of Power

MEMORISE: Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. – Ecclesiastes 9:8 (KJV)

READ: Mark 6:53-56 (KJV)

53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

54 And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 25-27

Open Heaven 30 March 2026 MESSAGE

Every part of the life and being of a Christian who is totally surrendered to God is a potent weapon in God’s hands. For example, just as we see in today’s Bible reading, clothes that are worn by people who have submitted their lives and all to God can become conductors of God’s power.

Jesus’ garment was full of power; the sick touched the hem of His garment and were made whole, as we see in today’s Bible reading. In Acts 19:11-12, God performed special miracles through Paul, such that aprons and handkerchiefs that he had worn were taken to the sick, and they received their healing. Paul was not even among the first twelve apostles; he was a persecutor of the gospel of Jesus Christ until he was saved. However, after his conversion, God performed special miracles through him. God is a miracle worker, but He is looking for vessels – men and women – who will believe Him so that He can release His power on the earth through them.

Child of God, your heavenly Father wants His power to flow through you so He can establish His Kingdom wherever you are. However, before your garment (which signifies your life) can become a conductor of God’s power, your internal garment has to be pure. Today’s memory verse tells us that our garments should always be white. This has nothing to do with always wearing white clothes; instead, it has everything to do with the heart. If a fellow’s heart is not surrendered to the Lord and is full of greed, that person’s garment cannot carry God’s power. Gehazi could have carried a double portion of Elisha’s anointing, but greed made him lose what could have been his spiritual inheritance (2 Kings 5:20-27). Judas could have been the one through whom God healed the man at the Beautiful Gate in Acts 3:1-11. God could have performed mighty miracles through him, just as He did with the other apostles, but greed made him end his life shamefully (Matthew 27:3-5).

Beloved, God wants you to be a conduit of His power like Peter and Paul. However, you cannot reveal His power when you are not surrendered to Him. If you are yet to surrender totally to God, I implore you to do so today so you can be a carrier of His power. I pray that the Lord will clothe you with His garment and make you a conductor of His power, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 30 March 2026 KEY POINT

DCLM Daily Manna 30 March 2026 — Tragedy Of Parental Indulgence

DCLM Daily Manna 30 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Tragedy Of Parental Indulgence

TOPIC: Tragedy Of Parental Indulgence (DCLM Daily Manna 30 March 2026)

KEY VERSE: And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD’S people to transgress. – 1 Samuel 2:23,24

TEXT: 1 Samuel 2:22-25 (KJV)

22 Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

23 And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.

24 Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord’s people to transgress.

25 If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

In his thought-provoking message, “Dare to Discipline,” Victor Yap points out a crucial truth: godly parents can sometimes end up raising ungodly children. It is a common mistake for pastors, elders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, and fellowship leaders to assume that their kids will naturally believe in God, automatically turn out well, and eventually follow in their footsteps. The reality is that when parenting goes awry, and children stray, it is often not because the parents are bad people. Instead, it is usually due to being unprepared, ill-adjusted, misinformed, or lacking guidance in parenting. So, if you’re a parent, strive to be available, accountable, active, attentive, and capable. The alternative can lead to a life filled with heartaches.

Eli’s family serves as a prime example of failed parenting. His sons were wild and immoral, yet he did not stop them. Though he was the High Priest, shockingly, he learned about his sons’ wrongdoings from others instead of through his own careful oversight. When he finally heard about their serious misdeeds, his reprimand was little more than a gentle nudge. Unsurprisingly, the sons brushed off his feeble protest. Eli was an indulgent father who could not keep his family in check. While he could bless pilgrims like Hannah and mentor a Samuel, he failed to manage his own household. He allowed his wayward sons to continue serving as priests until they desecrated the Lord’s offerings, undermined the faith of the people, defiled women in the temple, and led many into sin against God.

Unfortunately, we see the same indulgence that Eli showed playing out in many families. Some parents cover the wrongdoings in their families and their children’s lives to hold onto their positions in the church. As we reflect on today’s message, let us commit ourselves as parents to nurturing our children’s spiritual health. We should encourage them to participate in church activities, retreats, and youth fellowship gatherings so they can meet Jesus early on.

It is important not to get so caught up in their academic or career achievements that we fill their schedules with extra lessons, sports, or commercial activities, leaving little room for their spiritual growth. Today, let us humble ourselves before God and earnestly pray for the lives and restoration of our wayward sons and daughters. With God, there’s always a chance for repentance and renewal. While it may have been too late for Eli and his sons, we who are alive still have hope.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Weak parenting is a breeding ground for regrets and agonies.

Is Danielle Staub Making a Comeback to ‘RHONJ’ for Season 15? Get the Latest Scoop!

Following the announcement that Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Dolores Catania are set to reprise their roles for the 15th season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, speculation has been rife about potential returns of Danielle Staub and Kim DePaola. Excitement is building as fans ponder what new dynamics these familiar faces could bring to the table.

EXCLUSIVE: Danielle Staub Not Returning to 'RHONJ' Despite Rumors to the Contrary

Credit: MEGA

To delve deeper into these rumors, Reality Blurb reached out to an insider for clarity on the situation.

According to the source, “Kim D is definitely being considered for a comeback. She has genuine connections with the cast members and an extensive history with both them and the series.”

The insider further emphasized that her potential return is driven by Bravo’s understanding that they need someone who can add a bit of controversy and intrigue to the mix.

Aside from that, the insider insisted she’s in the running because Bravo knows “they need someone to stir the pot.”

“She’s never been afraid to be that person,” they added. “Love her or hate her, she’s authentically herself and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.”

As far as Danielle goes, though, the source spilled there’s “not a chance production would bring her back.”

“They gave her a second chance, and that resulted in her pulling Margaret’s hair hard, which production was not a fan of,” they explained. “They like drama, but violent behavior has always been something they’re not in favor of.”

“She hasn’t been brought back in years, has hardly been discussed in years, and isn’t on production or Bravo’s radar to bring back,” they elaborated.

The insider also pointed out that Danielle was “the first guest ever to be on Watch What Happens Live,” but still hasn’t returned to the network in quite some time.

“Was she even invited to Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip? No,” they shared. “So many of the other women were, and she wasn’t. If she was SO important to Bravo and even REMOTELY on their radar for season 15 of RHONJ, trust there’d be some sort of contact with her.”

The source concluded by also sharing Danielle “doesn’t have relationships currently with any of the women on the cast,” so a return for her “simply wouldn’t make sense.”

“Ultimately, Bravo finds her to be a liability given her past behavior, and there’s not a chance she’s coming back,” they said.

When Reality Blurb initially confirmed Teresa, Melissa, and Dolores were returning to the franchise, a source stated that fans “long believed it would either be Teresa or Melissa due to all of the tension and issues that arose during season 14 with them refusing to talk to one another, but Bravo ended up bringing them both back. It absolutely helps that they made up off-camera and are now getting along as a family unit. Bravo stressed during the last season that something needed to change, and the cast could not go on like this.”

They noted that Teresa and Melissa have “legions of fans,” and so Bravo knew cutting one or the other “wouldn’t make sense.”

“As far as Dolores goes, she’s always been neutral, but she’s absolutely a fan and network favorite,” they added. “Bravo put her on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island not only because they enjoy her, but also due to her popularity. She’s easy to work with, pleasant, and was the only person able to navigate the very split cast of season 14 of RHONJ without taking sides.”

Shocking Discovery: Yosemite Vacation Rental Exposed for Secretly Filming Guests with 4,000 Unauthorized Files

A vacation property near the iconic Yosemite National Park has become the focal point of a troubling investigation in California. Authorities have reportedly unearthed thousands of files containing suspected child sexual abuse content, alongside a disturbingly realistic child-like doll designed for sexual purposes.

Christian Parmalee Edwards, aged 44, was apprehended on March 19 following a search warrant carried out at a residence on Granite Butte Way in Oakhurst, located approximately 15 miles from Yosemite National Park, as reported by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

It is alleged by investigators that the premises operated as a short-term rental, where unsuspecting guests might have been clandestinely filmed during private moments.

A short-term vacation rental near Yosemite National Park is at the center of a disturbing California investigation that authorities say led to the discovery of more than 4,000 files of child sexual abuse material and the arrest of a 44-year-old man.

The search led detectives to uncover over 4,000 files believed to contain child sexual abuse material.

During the search, detectives said they discovered more than 4,000 files of suspected child sexual abuse material.

“Detectives also found Mr. Edwards to be in possession of a lifelike child doll designed for sexual use,” a spokesperson for the Madera County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital. “The dolls hands were bound.”

Authorities also reported finding new children’s clothing.

“This showcases the escalation in behaviors from viewing digital images to filming to physical behaviors,” the spokesperson said.

Officials added that Edwards was watching a recently recorded video when detectives arrived to serve the warrant.

The investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which flagged suspected distribution of illegal material originating in Madera County.

Detectives worked alongside the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force to carry out the search, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Edwards was booked into the Madera County Jail and faces multiple felony charges related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Authorities say more charges — including invasion of privacy — could be added as the investigation progresses.

Officials said electronic devices tied to Edwards have been collected and will undergo further forensic review.

A judge reduced Edwards’ bail from $225,000 to $75,000 during his initial court appearance, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

“Protecting the innocent, upholding the law, and holding offenders accountable remains a top priority of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Tyson Pogue said in a statement. “We stand ready for when our community needs us most.”

Mother Sentenced to Prison for Tragic Abuse: Daughter Found Deceased in Bathtub After Being Forced to Live in Shed

Insets, top to bottom: Sophia Mason and Samantha Johnson (Merced County District Attorney). Background: Cops investigate after finding Sophia”s body in a bathtub in 2022 (KFSN).

A 34-year-old woman from California has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for confining her 8-year-old daughter to a shed where the child eventually died. The girl’s body was left to decompose in a bathtub for several months before being discovered.

Samantha Johnson entered a plea of no contest to charges of manslaughter and two instances of child abuse related to the death of her daughter, Sophia Mason. In exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed to drop the murder charge. On Thursday, a judge handed down a sentence of 15 years and 8 months to Johnson.

Authorities discovered Sophia’s remains in a Merced bathroom on March 11, 2022, approximately 50 miles northwest of Fresno. Her body was found in a state of decomposition after she had been reported missing.

Johnson was arrested immediately following the discovery, while her boyfriend, Dhante Jackson, was apprehended roughly six months later. Although he initially faced similar charges, Jackson pled guilty to a lesser charge last October and was released with credit for time served.

According to San Jose Mercury News, Johnson had initially left Sophia in the care of family members shortly after the child’s birth. Sophia’s grandmother raised her until Johnson reclaimed custody in 2021. Over the following 15 months, at least seven reports of abuse emerged. However, social services failed to act or notify law enforcement, which was a breach of California law, as reported by the Mercury News.

“This isn’t justice,” Sophia’s aunt Emerald Johnson wrote in a victim impact statement, per the Mercury News. “Sophia didn’t get to live her life. Her life was cut short. [Samantha] and Dhante both deserve to rot in prison for the rest of your lives.”

The aunt concluded: “But regardless of these sentences, I know that God has the last say for you both. You will get the karma that you truly deserve.”

Lynn Linnen, another of Sophia’s aunts, had a frank assessment of the defendant’s parenting skills.

“You failed,” Linnen told her, the Mercury News reported. “Instead of protecting her, you allowed her to suffer and die.”

As Law&Crime previously reported, Sophia was forced to live in a shed in the backyard of her home in the final months of her life.

According to the Merced Sun-Star, Johnson told investigators that the last time she saw her daughter alive was on Feb. 10, 2022.

On that day, she took Sophia out of the shed to clean the feces covering her body, according to the report.

Johnson then left the girl alone in a bathroom with Jackson, the man she knew was abusing her daughter both physically and sexually at the time, authorities reportedly claimed.

She reportedly told investigators that soon after, she heard a “thud.”

The next day, a sliding door was left open in the home, reports the Merced Sun-Star, and Johnson assumed her physically weakened daughter had gone out on her own.

Johnson stated that she believed that Sophia had run away.

This scenario is most parents’ worst nightmare, but Johnson refused to search for her daughter or report the girl missing.

“Jackson told Johnson that your daughter does not want to be with you and does not want to be your daughter anymore. Johnson stated that Jackson told her this, so that is the reason why she stopped looking for [Sophia],” reads the report.

Police officers discovered Sophia’s body exactly one month after Johnson last saw her daughter.

After days of searching for Sophia in response to an at-risk missing juvenile report, officers with the Hayward Police Department said they finally located the residence where Johnson was living with Jackson.

Hayward police officers say they faced one more hurdle when Johnson and Jackson refused to answer the door, so they waited until Johnson left home.

“On Mar 10, 2022, as detectives continued their investigative efforts, it was determined probable cause existed to arrest Johnson for corporal injury on a child,” HPD wrote in a press release. “Detectives also received information Johnson may be at an address in Newark. Hayward PD Officers responded to the area, located Johnson, and took her into custody.”

MPD then obtained a search warrant for the home where Johnson and Jackson were living with Sophia, where authorities discovered the missing girl.

Shocking Twist: Florida Election Volunteer Nabbed for Theft of Encrypted Access Key Before Critical Vote

0

An election volunteer from Palm Beach County was taken into custody on Saturday night following accusations of stealing an encrypted access key from a voter registration terminal. The incident reportedly occurred during a training session on March 19, just days before the special election held on March 24.

Authorities from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office released a statement indicating that photos captured during the training session showed 59-year-old John Panicci committing the alleged theft. However, the incident was not reported until March 27, three days after the election took place.

The Sheriff’s office expressed concerns over the key, which, although configured solely for training purposes, posed a potential security risk. Officials warned that someone with technical expertise could theoretically reverse engineer the key’s encryption, possibly reintroducing it into a voter registration kiosk with malicious intent.

Panicci, who describes himself on Facebook as a “huge tech nerd, car guy, and photographer,” claims to have studied computer programming at the University of Maryland. His profile notes that he is self-employed, providing computer consulting and repair services, while also mentioning his attempts to launch a t-shirt store on Etsy.

Additionally, his social media activity reveals numerous posts critical of former President Donald Trump, with a noticeable increase in such posts leading up to the volunteer training session.

County Judge Frank Castor set Panicci’s bail at $6,000 during a hearing on Sunday, March 29, at the jail, according to court records. An initial case conference is scheduled for May 21 before Circuit Judge Sherri Collins.

The Sheriff’s office says that, “While the key was configured solely for training databases, there was concern that a knowledgeable individual could potentially reverse engineer the encryption and reintroduce it into a voter registration kiosk for malicious purposes.”

Panicci describes himself as a “huge tech nerd, car guy and photographer” on his Facebook profile, which says that he studied computer programming at the University of Maryland, and that he’s currently self-employed in “computer consulting and repair,” but also references a t-shirt store on Etsy he’s “struggling to get off the ground.”

His Facebook page also contains ample evidence of Panicci’s Trump Derangement Syndrome – with an increase in the days just prior to the election volunteer training.

With his tech background, apparent financial struggles, and Trump Derangement Syndrome, I’m sure his possession of the encrypted access key was just an accident.

UCLA Women’s Basketball Triumphs Over Duke, Secures Spot in Final Four Showdown

SACRAMENTO – In the world of sports, there are moments that demand resilience and improvisation.

Just before the game was set to begin at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday, an unexpected hitch occurred when the national anthem singer’s microphone failed right at the start of the performance.

Unfazed by the technical glitch, the audience spontaneously filled the void, lifting their voices to complete the anthem. By the time the song concluded, a replacement microphone was found and harmony was restored.

This impromptu unity set the tone for what would unfold over the next two hours with the UCLA women’s basketball team.

Initially, the Bruins appeared disjointed and struggled to find their rhythm in the first half. But as the game progressed, they regrouped, driven by a collective desire to ensure that their journey didn’t end before reaching the Final Four—especially for their six seniors who have been pivotal to the team’s success.

There’s more basketball to play for top-seeded UCLA after it rallied for a 70-58 victory over third-seeded Duke in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Surging ahead with a 15-2 run to end the third quarter and open the fourth, the Bruins shook off their early turnover problems to reach a second consecutive Final Four.

“Final Four!” jubliant fans chanted in the final minute. “Final Four!”

UCLA (35-1) will play either Texas or Michigan in a national semifinal on Friday at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix in the Bruins’ second consecutive appearance in the Final Four.

They’ll be seeking their first NCAA title after losing to UConn in a semifinal last year.

Center Lauren Betts overpowered the Blue Devils (27-9) with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. The Bruins also got a huge spark off the bench from Angela Dugalic, who tallied 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

The season goes on after UCLA mostly cleaned up its turnover issues and outscored Duke, 20-8, in the third quarter.

UCLA could finally forget about its early troubles late in the third quarter when Gianna Kneepkens rose for a straightaway 3-pointer that pushed the Bruins into a 47-45 lead. Kneepkens roared in celebration as the Bruins fans who packed most of the lower bowl of the arena howled in delight.

Dugalic followed with a turnaround jumper, layup and a putback in which she was fouled. By the time she made the resulting free throw, the Bruins were up 56-47 early in the fourth quarter and well on the way to their 29th consecutive victory.

It didn’t take long for UCLA to realize it was in for a far different challenge than it faced in November on the way to a 30-point blowout of the Blue Devils without Lauren and Sienna Betts.

Coming off a breathless buzzer-beater against LSU two days earlier, Duke was fearless in attacking the Bruins from the opening tip.

The Blue Devils built an early double-digit lead, largely on the strength of UCLA’s sloppiness.

After a first half in which her team struggled to run its offense, UCLA coach Cori Close huddled with point guards Kiki Rice and Charlisse Leger-Walker in front of the bench before heading to the locker room.

The Bruins piled up 12 turnovers – many unforced – in falling into a 39-31 halftime hole, and that was after five relatively clean minutes to close the half.

Midway through the second quarter, UCLA already had tallied 10 turnovers. Leger-Walker tried to find Angela Dugalic inside with a bounce pass that went out of bounds. Kneepkens stepped out of bounds. Lauren Betts committed an offensive foul. The Bruins couldn’t get a shot off on another possession, leading to a shot-clock violation.

The list went on.

Meanwhile, Duke executed at a much higher level while building a 10-point lead. The Blue Devils did a good job of denying Lauren Betts the ball or swarming her when she finally did get it. Betts had eight points on a meager five shots to go with only two rebounds at the game’s midpoint.

Things would soon get much better for Betts and her team.
