Exclusive: First Look at Brave Flight Attendant Defying Odds After Being Catapulted 320 Feet in LaGuardia Crash

0

For the first time, an image of Solange Tremblay, an Air Canada flight attendant who narrowly escaped the LaGuardia plane crash, has emerged from her hospital room.

Tremblay was seated in a jump seat when the aircraft collided with a firetruck on the New York City airport’s tarmac last Sunday night. The impact ejected her 330 feet away from the plane. Tragically, the crash claimed the lives of both pilots.

Despite the chaos, Tremblay remained conscious throughout the entire ordeal, as recounted by her daughter, Sarah Lépine. She was discovered on the tarmac, still secured in her seat.

The collision left Tremblay with severe injuries, including shattered legs that now require a series of surgeries, according to Lépine’s post on a GoFundMe page set up to support her recovery.

In addition to requiring skin grafts for her legs, Tremblay suffered a spinal fracture that may necessitate further surgical intervention. Following the initial surgery, she encountered complications that led to the need for a blood transfusion.

‘My mom has suffered so much from this event and regrettably her struggles are far from over,’ Lépine said. ‘She will have to undergo several other surgeries, along with intensive rehabilitation to learn how to walk again.’

At the moment, our greatest fear is the risk of infection which could lead to other horrifying complications if her injuries become infected,’ she added.

Lépine’s latest update included a photograph of her mother in her hospital bed, smiling alongside her daughter despite the severity of injuries.

‘My mother dedicated her entire life as a flight attendant, and was very proud of her work. She loved serving the public and helping them travel safely from their respective destinations,’ Lépine continued.

‘Right now, my mom needs your help. She is in New York for the foreseeable future for her recovery where she remains in constant fear of sustaining further damages than she has already suffered.’

The GoFundMe campaign has already amassed more than $134,000 in donations.

Tremblay has been a flight attendant with Air Canada Jazz since 1999, according to her Facebook.

Air Canada pilots Mackenzie Gunther, 30, and Capt. Antoine Forest, 24, were killed in the crash. Their bodies have since been repatriated to Canada.

The crash happened late Sunday night as the jet was landing and struck an airport fire truck that had initially been cleared to cross the runway to respond to a separate incident aboard another plane.

The unidentified air traffic controller quickly realized the mistake he had made and was heard pleading for the fire truck to stop, but it was too late.

Surveillance footage released on Monday captured the violent impact, which sheared off the nose of the Air Canada plane, which was traveling at about 150mph.

Aviation experts said the tragedy could have been far worse had the truck struck the plane’s fuel tanks.

There were 72 passengers and four crew members aboard the aircraft. Forty-one people required hospitalization, including two firefighters. Most have since been released from the hospital.

The destroyed Air Canada plane and the fire truck were towed from the crash site late Wednesday as the National Transportation Safety Board continues its investigation.

The agency said Thursday that the truck has been placed in an undisclosed, secure location and deferred to questions about the status of the plane to Air Canada, which didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

The airline has said the plane will be placed in a hangar and that it would soon begin the process of reuniting passengers with their baggage and personal belongings.

Revitalize Your Walking Stamina: 5 Chair Exercises Perfect for Seniors Over 65

0

A certified fitness trainer has identified five chair-based exercises that can enhance walking endurance more effectively than traditional treadmill workouts.

Improving walking endurance isn’t solely about time spent on your feet; it’s also about the harmonious functioning of your muscles. The hip flexors propel your legs forward, the calves and Achilles tendon manage the push-off, and your core ensures stability and efficiency. When these muscle groups are strong and well-coordinated, walking becomes smoother, more comfortable, and easier to maintain over extended periods.

For individuals over 65, it’s crucial that these muscle groups operate optimally. If one area is lacking, the body compensates, often leading to increased fatigue during walking. That’s why exercises targeting these specific muscles are so beneficial. They bolster the hip flexors, core, calves, and other supporting structures, ensuring they are prepared and resilient enough to support longer walking sessions.

I’ve introduced these seated exercises to clients aiming to boost their endurance without immediately resorting to lengthy walks. Using a chair for support allows individuals to concentrate on precise movements and effective muscle activation. This focus often translates into improved performance when transitioning from seated exercises to actual walking.

I’ve used these seated movements with clients who wanted to improve endurance without jumping straight into long walks. A chair provides stability, which allows you to focus on quality movement and muscle engagement. That combination often leads to better carryover when it’s time to get up and walk.

The five exercises below target the key muscles that drive walking performance. Perform them consistently, and you’ll build strength, improve coordination, and support the kind of endurance that makes every step feel more efficient.

Seated Leg Lifts

Seated leg lifts directly target the hip flexors, which play a major role in lifting your leg with each step. When these muscles are strong and responsive, your stride feels smoother and more controlled rather than forced. At the same time, your core stays engaged to keep your torso steady, which helps reinforce better movement patterns. Many people notice this exercise quickly “wakes up” the front of the hips, and with consistent practice, it carries over to more efficient walking and less fatigue.

Muscles Trained: Hip flexors, lower abdominals, and core stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Sit tall on a chair with your hands gripping the sides.
  2. Brace your core and keep your chest upright.
  3. Straighten both legs forward.
  4. Lift one foot a few inches off the ground.
  5. Lower your foot back down with control.
  6. Repeat on the other side, alternating rep-to-rep.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Alternating leg lifts, slow tempo lifts, single-leg lifts.

Form Tip: Keep your chest tall and avoid leaning backward.

Seated Calf Raises

Seated calf raises focus on the calves and Achilles, which are responsible for pushing your body forward every time your foot leaves the ground. When these muscles are working well, each step feels lighter and more efficient instead of heavy and tiring. The controlled up-and-down motion also helps improve strength around the ankle joint, which supports better stability. Over time, this translates to a stronger push-off and more consistent walking rhythm.

Muscles Trained: Calves and Achilles.

How to Do It:

  1. Sit with your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Place your hands on your thighs.
  3. Press through the balls of your feet to lift your heels.
  4. Pause briefly at the top.
  5. Lower your heels back down slowly.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 15 to 20 reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Single-leg calf raises, slow tempo raises, pause raises.

Form Tip: Lift your heels as high as possible for a full range of motion.

Seated Core Rotations

Seated core rotations help train the muscles that keep your torso stable while your body moves. Walking naturally involves a subtle rotational pattern, and when your core can control that motion, everything feels more balanced and efficient. This exercise builds that control in a simple, low-impact way while also improving coordination between your upper and lower body. As that connection improves, walking tends to feel smoother and more natural.

Muscles Trained: Obliques, rectus abdominis, and core stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Sit tall with your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Hold your hands together in front of your chest.
  3. Rotate your torso to one side.
  4. Return to the center and rotate to the other side.
  5. Continue alternating in a controlled rhythm.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 16 to 20 alternating reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Slow tempo rotations, pause rotations, weighted rotations.

Form Tip: Rotate through your torso rather than swinging your arms.

Seated Flutter Kicks

Seated flutter kicks bring a steady, rhythmic challenge to the hip flexors and lower core, closely mimicking the alternating pattern of walking. Because the movement is continuous, the muscles stay engaged longer, which helps build endurance rather than just strength. It also encourages coordination between the two sides of the body, resulting in a smoother stride. With regular practice, this translates to better stamina and less fatigue during longer walks.

Muscles Trained: Hip flexors, lower abdominals, and core stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Sit tall near the edge of a chair.
  2. Lean back slightly while keeping your chest lifted.
  3. Extend your legs forward.
  4. Alternate lifting one leg at a time in a fluttering motion.
  5. Maintain a steady rhythm throughout.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Slow flutter kicks, alternating hold kicks, single-leg kicks.

Form Tip: Keep your core engaged and avoid rounding your back.

Seated Marching

Seated marching ties everything together by reinforcing the exact pattern your body uses when you walk. Each knee lift strengthens the hip flexors while the core works to keep your posture upright and steady. The alternating rhythm helps build coordination and confidence, especially for those looking to improve how their walking feels day-to-day. Over time, this simple movement carries over directly to smoother, more controlled steps.

Muscles Trained: Hip flexors, quads, and core stabilizers.

How to Do It:

  1. Sit tall with your feet flat on the floor.
  2. Brace your core and keep your chest upright.
  3. Lift one knee toward your chest.
  4. Lower it back down with control.
  5. Alternate legs in a steady rhythm.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 20 alternating reps. Rest for 30 seconds between each set.

Best Variations: Slow tempo marching, pause marching, alternating holds.

Form Tip: Keep your torso tall and avoid leaning backward.

Daily Habits That Help Improve Walking Endurance After 65

Shutterstock

Improving walking endurance goes beyond exercise alone. The body adapts best when strength work, daily movement, and smart progression all come together. When these habits are practiced consistently, they reinforce the strength you’re building and make each step feel more efficient over time.

  • Walk regularly with intention: Even short walks help build endurance when you focus on posture, stride, and rhythm.
  • Strengthen the muscles that drive each step: Targeting the hips, calves, and core helps reduce fatigue and improve efficiency.
  • Pay attention to posture while walking: Staying upright allows your body to move more naturally and reduces unnecessary strain.
  • Progress gradually over time: Increasing distance or time in small increments helps the body adapt without feeling overwhelmed.
  • Stay consistent with both movement and recovery: Regular activity paired with adequate rest helps the body rebuild and improve endurance.

Netanyahu Announces Expanded Military Operations in Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions

0

Benjamin Netanyahu has commanded an escalation of Israel’s military efforts in Lebanon, citing Hezbollah’s continued capability to launch rocket attacks.

Israeli forces have advanced into southern Lebanon, aiming to dismantle the Iranian-backed group responsible for inciting conflict by unleashing missile strikes on Israel in retaliation for the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Israel commenced what it describes as “limited and targeted ground operations,” focusing on strategic Hezbollah locations to neutralize threats to nearby border areas.

During a Sunday address, the Israeli Prime Minister announced his directive for the military to broaden the “existing security buffer zone.”

Speaking from northern Israel, Netanyahu stated, “I have just instructed further expansion of the existing security buffer zone.”

‘We are determined to fundamentally ‌change the situation in the north.

‘We eliminated thousands of Hezbollah terrorists, and above all, we eliminated the immense threat of 150,000 missiles and rockets that were intended to destroy the cities of Israel.’

He added: ‘Hezbollah still has a residual capability to launch rockets at us.’

Netanyahu also said Israel has created ‘visible cracks in the terror regime in Tehran’.

‘Iran is not the same Iran,’ he said. ‘Hezbollah is not the same Hezbollah, and Hamas is not the same Hamas.’

The three are ‘battered enemies fighting for their very existence,’ he claimed.

‘Instead of them surprising us, we are surprising them. We are the side that is acting, we are the side that is attacking, we are the side that is initiating, and we are deep in their territory.’

The Israeli premier boasted that Israel has created ‘three security zones deep in enemy territory.’

Hezbollah, an Iranian proxy which maintains significant control in Lebanon’s politics, and Israel are long-time enemies and fought a 13-month conflict that ended in November 2024.

Hezbollah was created in response to Israel’s occupation of Lebanon during the 1980s.

It was massively weakened in the last conflict and in the last month Israel has battered its stronghold in Dahieh, a Shia heartland in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

The terror group’s decision to fire rockets at Israel last month drew fury from the Lebanese government who accused them of pulling the country into war.

The government ordered Hezbollah to give up its weapons and issued arrest warrants against members for smuggling weapons.

But Israel has demanded stronger action and intensified strikes on its neighbour.

Last week, military chief Lt Gen Eyal Zamir said they had advanced ‘the targeted ground operations and strikes’ against Hezbollah, and that this would be a ‘prolonged operation’.

That came after a statement from defence minister, Israel Katz, who said Israeli forces had destroyed crossings over the crucial Litani river, which it claimed was being used by Hezbollah to transport reinforcements.

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun said the strikes were a ‘prelude to a ground invasion’ amounting to a ‘policy of collective punishment against civilians’.

More than 1,100 people have killed in Lebanon since the beginning of the war, with over 3,500 people injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

More than one million people have been displaced.

Missiles fired from Iran and Lebanon have killed 19 people in Israel, according to the Israeli ambulance service.

Earlier this month, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Canada released a statement which warned a significant Israeli ground invasion would have ‘devastating humanitarian consequences’ and it ‘must be averted’.

Meanwhile, Israel is also facing threats from the Houthis, who have claimed they will choke off a second major oil shipping route.

In a significant escalation to the month-long war, Iran’s proxy group in Yemen yesterday issued a warning over the waterway which is known as the ‘Gate of Tears’ in Arabic.

The Bab al-Mandeb Strait connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and is used as an alternative to the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively shut down.

If both routes are compromised, the impact would extend far beyond the region, hitting supply chains, energy markets and shipping costs worldwide.

Ten per cent of global seaborne trade passes through the Red Sea, including a fifth of the world’s container traffic and car shipments and 10 per cent of crude oil.

The 1,400-mile-long body of water links the Indian Ocean to the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal.

Yesterday, the Houthi rebel group fired missiles at Israel and vowed to carry out more attacks.

The Houthis have held Yemen’s capital Sanaa since 2014 and, so far, have stayed out of the US-Israeli war on Iran.

The group’s attacks on ships during the Israel-Hamas war caused chaos in the Red Sea, through which billions of pounds of goods pass each year.

Between 2023 and 2025, Houthi rebels attacked more than 100 merchant vessels with missiles and drones, sinking two ships and killing four sailors.

Tragic Discovery: Over 30 Bodies, Including Children, Unearthed in Kenyan Mass Grave

0

Authorities in western Kenya have discovered at least 33 bodies, including those of children and dismembered remains, from a mass grave, sparking concerns about a potential clandestine transfer from a hospital morgue. The grim discovery, made on Thursday, has left the community seeking answers.

Investigators unearthed the remains of 25 children and eight adults, along with body parts placed in sacks, at a cemetery owned by a church in Kericho, according to official reports. The incident has raised serious questions about the handling and disposal of these bodies.

Mohamed Amin, head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, addressed the media, stating, “Our investigation has revealed that these bodies were moved from Nyamira District Hospital to a private cemetery in Kericho.” The authorities are now focused on determining whether the transfer and burial of these bodies were conducted lawfully.

The Associated Press reported that Kenyan law allows hospitals and morgues to dispose of unclaimed bodies after 14 days with court authorization.

Government pathologists conducted autopsies Thursday to determine the cause of death, though the identities of the victims have not been released.

Authorities have arrested two people in connection with the case.

Local media reported the bodies were transported in a government vehicle by unidentified individuals and buried hastily, with some gravediggers later alerting police.

“We need authorities to conduct a thorough investigation,” resident Brian Kibunja said.

Another resident, Samuel Moso, said authorities should “reveal if the government was involved or if a different group of people was behind the mass burial.”

There have been three major mass-grave incidents in Kenya over the past three years.

Police in 2023 uncovered hundreds of bodies buried in a forest in Kenya’s coastal Kilifi region, exhuming mass graves tied to a religious leader accused of starving his followers to death.

In 2024, authorities recovered nine bodies from a dumpsite in Nairobi, the Eastern African nation’s capital.

The latest discovery comes as concerns grow among some Kenyans over alleged abuses by police.

Missing Voices, a human rights group, said it documented 125 extrajudicial killings and six enforced disappearances in Kenya over the past year, compared to 104 reported killings the year before.

Explosive Court Showdown: Kyle and Jackie O’s Legal Battle Unveiled

Broadcasting powerhouse ARN is gearing up to face former co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson in court to defend its decision to terminate their $100 million contracts.

In the upcoming legal battle, the company aims to spotlight Henderson as a crucial witness, claiming that Sandilands engaged in sustained bullying and harassment during their time on the KIIS FM breakfast show. These accusations have surfaced following Sandilands’ multimillion-dollar lawsuit challenging the contract termination.

According to reports by The Australian, Henderson has supplied ARN with detailed accounts of instances where Sandilands allegedly “bullied, berated, and belittled her both on-air and off.” Among these incidents is a notable episode on February 20, which reportedly left Henderson in tears due to Sandilands’ harsh remarks.

An insider from ARN revealed to the publication, “If Kyle pursues this further, he may face significant repercussions… Jackie has already made her grievances clear to management behind the scenes.”

Henderson’s written complaints not only address the incident on that particular day but also chronicle various other instances of Sandilands’ unacceptable conduct towards her, extending well beyond his final on-air comments.

Despite ARN also terminating Henderson’s $100million, 10-year contract after she expressed her unwillingness to continue on the Kyle & Jackie O show, the network is now reportedly offering her a return to KIIS FM with a solo program.

‘It’s also worth noting that Jackie is not taking any legal action (against ARN) – and that’s because she is being looked after,’ the source added.

Sandilands appeared at the Federal Court on Friday for a directions hearing. He alleges that the termination of his contract with the company was invalid because there was no act of serious misconduct and the termination breached Australian Consumer Law.

According to damning legal letters released by the Federal Court, Henderson refused to present alongside her former radio co-star Sandilands ‘ever’ again after their relationship broke down in the middle of their February 20 live show.

ARN axed the pair’s $200million contract deal after a segment in which Sandilands slammed Henderson for her ‘fixation’ on astrology.

Henderson said ‘that’s not fair’ and left the studio in tears, before her own $100million contract was terminated.

Less than two weeks later, on March 3, Sandilands received a letter from ARN accusing him of making ‘abusive, humiliating, and belittling comments’ to Henderson, which included attacks on her character, work ethic, and job performance.

‘You stated that everybody at the radio station was talking about these failings, thereby impressing on her the idea that her conduct and performance was so bad, that they were generally the talk of the station,’ the letter read.

ARN claimed Sandilands’ comments were not made in jest, and demonstrated a ‘manifested hostility’ towards Henderson that was ‘calculated to offend and distress her’.

Should radio hosts be held accountable for on-air clashes, or is controversy just part of the job?

Henderson has reportedly provided ARN with a list of occasions when Sandilands allegedly ‘bullied, berated, and belittled her on and off air’, including the February 20 incident in which his harsh on-air comments left Henderson in tears

The broadcaster claimed Sandilands had damaged the business because Henderson refused to ‘ever present with you again’.

Days after the blow-up, Henderson released a statement saying she ‘did not quit or resign’.

Sandilands was given 14 days to remedy the situation or his contract would be terminated, but ARN did not propose any solutions in either its initial or subsequent correspondence.

He was ordered not to comment on the situation, disparage anyone at ARN, or victimise staff who had complained about his conduct – or risk termination.

A response from Sandilands’ lawyer Kevin Lynch on March 10 claimed the broadcaster was aware of his client’s ‘tone, style, voice and robust character’, to the point where it was willing to pay him $100million.

Mr Lynch also noted that the broadcaster had a 30‑second delay to censor or remove any disparaging comments but chose not to do so.

He said ARN created a ‘Catch-22’ when Sandilands was not given a way of resolving the situation.

The court also released an affidavit sworn by Mr Lynch, who detailed the pair’s respective on‑air roles and their long working relationship.

Mr Lynch said Sandilands was the ‘dominant and abrasive personality who is deliberately outrageous and often offensive’, while Henderson was a ‘warmer and more emotionally attuned character.’

‘Mr Kyle Sandilands is one of Australia’s most prominent and recognisable radio broadcasters,’ Mr Lynch wrote.

‘He has been a continuous presence on Australian commercial radio for more than 25 years since his commencement on the commercial radio station known as ‘2Day FM’ in 1999.’

Sandilands has co-hosted The Kyle and Jackie O Show – originally on 2Day FM – since January 2004, before moving to KIIS FM a decade later.

‘The program is consistently the highest-rated FM breakfast show in the Sydney metropolitan market,’ Mr Lynch wrote.

‘The program is high-energy and controversial involving the broadcast of (amongst other things) material that is irreverent and naturally provocative, including using crude humour, ribald comedy and sexual innuendo.’

Mr Lynch said The Kyle and Jackie O Show was ‘occasionally controversial’.

‘Banter and tension between Mr Sandilands and Ms Henderson is a central dynamic to the program,’ he wrote.

Sandilands’ lawyer, Kevin Lynch, said Sandilands was the ‘dominant and abrasive personality who is deliberately outrageous and often offensive’, while Henderson was a ‘warmer and more emotionally attuned character’

‘Mr Sandilands generally performs the role of the dominant and abrasive personality who is deliberately outrageous and often offensive, whilst Ms Henderson plays a moderating role as a warmer and more emotionally attuned character.

‘The characters which Mr Sandilands and Ms Henderson play are designed to be an exaggeration of their respective personalities.’

Mr Lynch set out the alleged harm done to Sandilands by the termination of his contract.

Sandilands’s career and livelihood were ‘uniquely dependent upon the maintenance of a continuous, daily relationship with this radio audience,’ he wrote.

‘Every day that Mr Sandilands is absent from air, the audience relationship that Mr Sandilands has cultivated is subject to erosion as listeners migrate to competitor programmes and form new habits,’ he wrote.

Mr Lynch said Sandilands’ ‘commercial identity’, including the value of his ‘personal brand’, was inextricably linked to his on-air presence, ratings and audience engagement.

‘The harm flowing from Mr Sandilands’ continued absence from the program is compounding in character: the longer the absence, the more difficult and uncertain the task of audience recovery becomes,’ he wrote.

‘Radio audience behaviour is such that listeners who are lost during a period of absence may not return, or may not return in the same numbers, once a broadcaster resumes.’

Mr Lynch said the loss of listeners was, to a significant degree, ‘irreversible’, and the damage arising from that loss ‘perhaps impossible’ to quantify.

Among the orders Sandilands seeks is his reinstatement.

‘Mr Sandilands is willing to work with a co-presenter or, if Ms Henderson is willing, with Ms Henderson,’ Mr Lynch wrote.

‘He presented the program without Ms Henderson and without issue on previous occasions, including in the days immediately following 20 February 2026.

‘ARN has not considered or attempted to allow either such course.’

The matter will return to court on April 24.

Judge Faces Backlash for Racially Insensitive Comments to Black Defendant: A Call for Justice Reform

0

Judge John E. Jordan III (Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida).

A judge in Florida is set to receive a public reprimand after making racially insensitive comments directed at a Black man, where he asked if the man had ever “chopped cotton before.”

The recommendation for this disciplinary action was made on Friday by the Judicial Qualifications Commission, which is responsible for overseeing judicial conduct in Florida. The remarks in question were made by Orange County Judge John E. Jordan III during a court session last year.

The commission’s report highlights that Jordan was overseeing a plea hearing in July 2025 for a 33-year-old Black woman involved in a felony battery case. During the hearing, the state requested that she complete 30 hours of community service. Jordan then turned to the woman’s great-uncle, inquiring if he owned any farmland.

Jordan, as noted by the commission, remarked, “All my family’s farming. They’d love me out there. You ever chopped cotton before? You know what that is? You take a hoe and you knock out the weeds. That’ll straighten you up real quick doing that stuff.”

The commission deemed Jordan’s comments as “inappropriate,” pointing out the historical stereotype of associating Black individuals with cotton picking. Jordan acknowledged that his comments were “ill-considered” and admitted it was the first instance of using the term “chopping cotton” in his courtroom.

“Judge Jordan insists that he is not a racist, and does not make rulings or decisions improperly based on race, and the Commission has no evidence that such has occurred,” the findings said. “If the Commission had such evidence, then the Commission would be making a far different recommendation of far more severe sanctions, up to and including removal from office.”

Jordan pointed to the fact that Florida A&M University, a historically Black college, invited him to join the school’s law advisory committee.

The “cotton” comment was not the only thing that drew the commission’s ire. In April 2025, Jordan was overseeing jury selection for an aggravated battery case when “unprofessionally scolded two public defenders in a manner that was not patient, dignified or courteous,” the commission wrote.

Jordan was “seemingly annoyed” that the lawyers had not conferred with their client about challenges to prospective jurors.

“How much time do you need?” the judge asked. “Can I get you something to eat? Something to drink?”

When the public defenders complained they were being “unfairly treated and rushed,” Jordan allegedly raised his voice and told them to “shut up.”

“That is rude,” a public defender stated.

“Shut up,” Jordan responded, per the commission.

The attorney held his ground: “No, that is very rude,” he said.

But Jordan apparently wasn’t backing down.

“Shut up,” Jordan allegedly repeated. “I’m not going to listen to two people arguing. I’ll listen to one. Okay?”

Jordan ended up calling a mistrial, saying “I’m not going to deal with pettiness like this” and recused himself from the case, per the commission.

The judge has been on the bench since 2005, per his biography page. The Florida Supreme Court will hand down the punishment for Jordan based on the commission’s findings.

Politico Under Fire: Controversial Cartoon of Trump Sparks Outrage and Backlash

0

Politico has removed a controversial cartoon criticized for its seemingly anti-Semitic portrayal of President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following a backlash from its audience.

The illustration, created by cartoonist Sean Delonas, depicted the two leaders draped in blood-stained Jewish prayer shawls and yarmulkes, seated in a rowboat poised precariously at the brink of a waterfall.

Included in the scene are Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, the latter shown clutching a bottle of blood.

Netanyahu is caricatured with an exaggerated nose, reminiscent of derogatory depictions from Nazi-era propaganda, seated at a table smeared with blood and surrounded by piles of money.

Beside him, Trump is illustrated as noticeably overweight, sporting an orange-hued complexion, and playing a lute-like instrument.

The word Amalek is written in the background of the cartoon, a direct reference to the arch-enemy of ancient Israel as depicted in the Hebrew Bible.

The sketch appears to be a recreation of Hieronymus Bosch’s painting from the late 1490s called Ship of Fools.

Delonas named the boat in his rendition the ‘Ship of Neocons’, a reference to the neoconservatism or neocon movement of the 1970s.

The neocon movement supported strong US military power and pushed for an aggressive, interventionist approach to foreign policy that was aimed at spreading democracy.

Politico was met with major backlash online after it included Delonas’s sketch in the Cartoon Carousel on its website Friday. The carousel displays a collection of the ‘best’ political cartoons of the week.

‘Politico is trash. Sean Delonas should be fired and blackballed,’ one critic wrote on X in response to the ‘vile’ cartoon.

Another echoed: ‘One of the worst and most anti-Semitic cartoons I have seen from a prominent political outlet in my lifetime.

‘Shame on the cartoonist Sean Delonas. No accident this is being posted on the eve of Passover. Shame on Politico.’

‘Truly disturbing but not surprising from Politico – they are extreme propaganda and it’s only getting worse,’ a third person added.

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer even commented on the sketch, calling it ‘disgusting.’

Politico has since removed the drawing from its website, replacing it instead with a note from the editor.

‘We removed a cartoon by independent cartoonist Sean Delonas from this week’s gallery after weighing comments from readers that it did not meet our standards,’ the note stated.

‘Sharp arguments and provocative imagery in political cartoons are within bounds.

‘Images that could be reasonably interpreted to rely on ethnic stereotypes or employing tropes that have been involved in historically hateful ways are not.’

The statement further noted that the cartoon round–up is ‘designed to be a representation of a broad range of opinions –– not an endorsement of the views of any particular cartoon or cartoonist.’

Politico published the cartoon amid the war in Iran, which began last month with US and Israeli strikes on Iran that triggered Iranian attacks on Israel and neighboring Gulf Arab states.

Israel also invaded Lebanon while targeting the Iranian-backed terror group, Hezbollah.

Delonas, in a post on his blog, responded to the criticism. He wrote: ‘The neocons have been criticizing me and fellow journalists lately for our anti-war stance.’

He responded to the claims that Netanyahu had an ‘exaggerated’ nose in the sketch, noting that ‘all the figures have exaggerated features — it’s a cartoon.’

‘I drew more exaggerated noses on Senator Ted Cruz and the GOP elephants in the cartoon than on Bibi. Is that anti-Semitic as well?’ he questioned.

Addressing the use of the word Amalek, Delonas said: ‘A recent comment by Benjamin Netanyahu about Iran was, “Remember what Amalek did to you. We remember and we act.” Am I not allowed to quote Bibi’s religious references? I used “Amalek” because Bibi used it.’

The Daily Mail has approached Politico, the White House, and reps for Cruz and Graham for comment.

Smoke rises following an Iranian missile strike in Southern Israel on Sunday, March 29, 2026

Smoke rises following an Iranian missile strike in Southern Israel on Sunday, March 29, 2026

Netanyahu announced Sunday that Israel will widen its invasion of southern Lebanon.

He said Israel would expand what he called the ‘existing security strip’ in Lebanon as Israeli forces continue to target the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group.

‘We are determined to fundamentally change the situation in the north,’ he said on a visit to northern Israel, adding that ‘Hezbollah still has residual capability to fire rockets at us.’ There were no immediate details.

In Lebanon, officials say more than 1,100 people have been killed in the fighting since the Iran war began.

Trump last week said Iran wants a deal to end the nearly four-week war, but Tehran’s top diplomat has rejected having any talks with Washington.

Trump, whose daily statements have swung wildly from threatening to conciliatory, said talks to end the war were ongoing with Iran, but that officials in Tehran were covering them up out of fear.

‘They are negotiating, by the way, and they want to make a deal so badly,’ Trump told a dinner for Republican members of Congress.

‘But they’re afraid to say it, because they figure they’ll be killed by their own people,’ he said. ‘They’re also afraid they’ll be killed by us.’

Tehran’s top diplomat slapped down Trump’s comments, saying the country did not intend to negotiate.

‘We seek an end to the war on our own terms, of course, and in a way that it will not be repeated here again,’ Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told state TV.

Danville Church Provides Complimentary Fuel to Dozens Over the Weekend

In a commendable response to the increasing burden of gas prices, a community-driven initiative unfolded in Danville, Illinois, courtesy of the compassionate efforts of Mosaic City Church. This past Saturday, the church’s leaders orchestrated their inaugural gas giveaway at the Oasis Gas Station, an event marked by generosity and kindness. By the end of the day, they had filled up the tanks of 80 vehicles, extending a lifeline to those grappling with financial strain.

As the Easter holiday approached, the church’s lead pastor, LeStan Hoskins, was motivated by a desire to give back to the community. “Especially with Easter a week away, we felt it was crucial to step up and support our neighbors,” Hoskins shared. He emphasized the church’s commitment to making a tangible impact and raising awareness about their congregation’s mission. “We want to be there in times of need, and we want people to know that we’re here,” he continued. “The church is not a building; the church is a people. So we want to be the people who are out in the community being the hands and the feet of Jesus.”

James Blake Requests Removal from Kanye West’s ‘Bully’ Credits: Here’s Why

James Blake has publicly announced that he wishes to withdraw his partial credit from Kanye West’s recent album, “Bully.”

In a recent post on Vault, the 37-year-old Blake expressed, “The way I manipulated his vocals and crafted the track from his freestyle is somewhat present, but it’s largely mixed with newer vocal takes. The essence of my original production is largely missing. My initial version is an entirely different creation in spirit.”

Currently, Blake is listed as a producer on West’s track “This One Here,” which is part of the “Bully” album that was released on Friday, March 27.

“I’m happy for the fans, but I’ve requested to be removed from the producer credits for now because I don’t want to claim credit for work that’s not mine,” Blake explained. “This version isn’t what I made with Ye. It’s nothing personal!”

GettyImages597568520 Kanye Wests Quotes About His Mental Health

Kanye West, who also goes by Ye, has openly discussed his struggles with mental health over the years. In 2016, he was hospitalized after unexpectedly canceling a concert. Two years later, with the release of his album “Ye,” West disclosed his diagnosis of bipolar type-1 disorder, famously stating, “I hate being Bi-Polar, it’s awesome,” in the album.

He concluded, “I just hit a point where I don’t want to be credited on music where I can’t affect the end result.”

Blake and West, 48, had been friends and collaborators for many years, though their bond seemingly dissipated by 2023.

“We haven’t seen each other for a little while. I think it’s probably a no-comment from me,” Blake told Variety in October 2023, seemingly reacting to West’s controversial antisemitic remarks. “I say that with sadness.”

West was suspended from Instagram in 2022 after making a series of derogatory and false comments about Jews while simultaneously praising dictator Adolf Hitler and Nazism. He issued a public apology in January, two months before “Bully” was released.

“In early 2025, I fell into a four-month long manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life,” West wrote in an open letter published by the Wall Street Journal, blaming his behavior on his bipolar disorder. “One of the difficult aspects of having bipolar type-1 are the disconnected moments — many of which I still cannot recall — that led to poor judgment and reckless behavior that oftentimes feels like an out-of-body-experience.”

Feature Kanye West Antisemitic Apology is Long Overdue

Kanye West has apologized for his antisemitic behavior, but one group dedicated to combating bigotry isn’t letting the rapper get off that easily. “Ye’s apology to the Jewish people is long overdue and doesn’t automatically undo his long history of antisemitism — the antisemitic ‘Heil Hitler’ song he created, the hundreds of tweets, the swastikas […]

He continued, “I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”

West further apologized to the Black community, claiming he “let [them] down.”

“My words as a leader in my community have global impact and influence. In my mania, I lost complete sight of that,” he concluded. “As I find my new baseline and new center through an effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise and clean living, I have newfound, much-needed clarity.”
