A recent incident at Hollywood Burbank Airport involved a Southwest Airlines pilot who was recorded informing passengers that the aircraft had to perform a go-around maneuver. This decision was made after the plane briefly touched down because the runway was not fully cleared as anticipated.

The event took place last Thursday, with the Boeing 737 arriving from Las Vegas, as reported by KABC. In a video obtained by the station, the pilot addressed the passengers over the intercom, explaining, “Hey folks, just a quick update. The ordered runway wasn’t quite clear when we were going to touch down there, so we had to go-around.”

He assured the passengers that it would take an additional 5-10 minutes before they could safely land. This communication highlights the importance of safety protocols in aviation, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken, even if it means a brief delay.

One passenger told KABC that the plane’s wheels briefly touched the runway before the aircraft took off again at a steep incline. 

The Federal Aviation Administration told Fox News Digital on Saturday that “The flight crew of Southwest Airlines Flight 2353 executed a pilot-initiated go-around after briefly landing at Hollywood Burbank Airport in California.”

“There were no other aircraft or vehicles involved,” the FAA added.

A Southwest Airlines spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “We don’t have any internal reports of a runway incursion, and the FAA has indicated to us they do not either.”

“From our initial reports, the pilots performed a routine go around before landing safely. Nothing is more important to Southwest than the safety of its customers and employees,” the spokesperson added.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A significant labor dispute at one of the largest shipbuilders for the U.S. Navy concluded Saturday as hundreds of workers returned to their posts at Bath Iron Works after approving a new agreement.

The Bath Marine Draftsmen’s Association, after an extensive union meeting at a local high school, ratified a fresh four-year contract, effective immediately, according to the shipyard. This brought an end to the strike that had persisted for a week.

Associated with the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), one of the nation’s most prominent unions, the Bath Marine Draftsmen’s Association includes professionals such as designers, nondestructive test technicians, technical clerks, laboratory technicians, and associate engineers, as stated by the union.

Famed for the slogan “Bath built is best built,” Bath Iron Works faced the strike shortly after U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s morale-boosting visit, where he emphasized the importance of ramping up defense production amid ongoing military efforts in Iran.

As a key shipbuilder for the Navy, Bath Iron Works secured a multiyear deal in 2023 to construct several Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. These guided missile destroyers are considered vital to the Navy’s surface fleet, with an additional vessel recently added to the contract under an option exercised last year.

Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, has found love once more, this time with a Filipino nurse who is 35 years younger.

At 81, the former Hollywood lighting director expressed his delight, describing himself as ‘blessed and beyond happy’ after enduring years of hardship, particularly following his estrangement from his daughter Meghan after her 2018 nuptials to Prince Harry.

Mr. Markle shared, “I never anticipated finding joy and happiness at this stage of my life. After feeling neglected and sorrowful for such a long time, I am now cherishing life again.”

“Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I feel incredibly fortunate to have met someone special who cares for me deeply,” he added.

Mr. Markle’s newfound romance with 46-year-old Rio Canedo blossomed as he was recuperating from a significant surgery last December, during which he had part of his left leg amputated below the knee. This relationship marks a new chapter in his life after parting ways with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, when Meghan was just five.

Rio, a mother of two grown children, had no idea who Mr Markle was when she first met him in mid-December of last year after he checked into the rehab hospital where she works in Cebu, a city in the Philippines that Mr Markle and his son Tom Jr, 59, moved to in January 2025.

Mr Markle, who has never met his son-in-law Prince Harry or his grandchildren Archie, six or four-year-old Lilibet, nearly died after doctors were forced to amputate his left lower leg after a massive blood clot blocked the supply of blood to his foot.

He spent four days in intensive care followed by weeks in hospital before being moved to a specialised rehabilitation unit in another medical centre.

This week he invited the Mail on Sunday to spend time with him and his new love and said he expected a backlash from the ‘Sussex Squad’, the notoriously cruel online trolls who support Meghan and Harry, but added: ‘I know some people will say hurtful things but I don’t care.

‘I want to talk about this because I never thought I would ever be happy again. 

‘I want people to know you’re never too old to find peace and love.

‘There’s a lot of negative things going on in the world and if my story can give a little hope to one person then I’m happy. 

‘The haters will hate but, to be honest, I don’t give a damn. Life is for living. There’s nothing more important in life than love.’

Mr Markle became estranged from Meghan, 44 – who is only two years younger than her father’s new girlfriend – after he suffered two heart attacks on the eve of her May 2018 wedding and was unable to walk her down the aisle.

Meghan entered St. George’s Chapel on her own and was escorted part-way down the aisle by King Charles (then Prince of Wales) with her mother Doria being the only member of her family at the wedding.

Mr Markle claims he made repeated attempts to contact his daughter privately before eventually going public in a bid to reach her.

He said: ‘I still don’t know why she ghosted me.’

In his memoir ‘Spare’, Prince Harry claimed Meghan ‘lost’ her father after Mr Markle started speaking to the Press.

Mr Markle (who says he only spoke publicly when private efforts to reach his daughter failed) lived in Rosarito, Mexico, a four-hour drive from the 16-bathroom home Meghan and Harry bought in Montecito, California after they stepped down as senior royals after Megxit.

He suffered a devastating stroke in 2022 which left him unable to speak for weeks and decided to move to the Philippines last year in a bid to avoid constant reminders of his daughter and the grandchildren he longs to see but has never met.

Today he has regained his power of speech which he puts down in great part to speaking all the time to his new love.

He said: ‘After my stroke things were not great. I wanted to go to the other side of the world to a place where the people are kind. 

‘The Philippines have a gentler way of life. I never expected to meet Rio and have my life changed in such a wonderful way.’

Watching the pair together this week in the comfortable hotel-style room they share on the 12th floor of the rehab centre in Cebu, it is clear they share a very special bond.

Rio constantly fusses over Mr Markle and the two are openly affectionate and comfortable in each other’s company, laughing frequently and poking fun at each other.

When she holds his hand, as she often does, he beams with genuine delight.

She has him on a strict no sugar diet and he has lost a lot of weight. She pushes him to drink more water and hides the chocolate I bring him as a gift promising to ratio it to one piece a day as a special treat.

‘I’ve got pneumonia but I’m not feeling sorry for myself because I have Rio taking such good care of me.

‘I hardly watch the news. I live in a world where people are kind to each other. The nurses and doctors here in the Philippines are wonderful.

‘People here don’t have all the worldly goods we have in the West but they respect and care for older people.

‘There are young trainee nurses here who we call the ‘munchkins’ and all I hear all day long are peels of laughter.

‘I was sad about Meghan for so long but now I finally feel like I can laugh again. Life is good.’

The retired Hollywood lighting director has two of his three Emmy awards (TV’s Oscars) on display in his room but there are no pictures of Meghan.

I told him I remembered visiting him in Rosarito when he had pictures of Meghan and all his family, plastered across the walls.

‘Yes, family is important, but how long can you live in pain? Sometimes you have to move on. I have moved on.’

He speaks daily to Samantha, his eldest daughter from his first marriage who lives in Florida and suffers from MS, making the lengthy trip to the Philippines impossible for her.

His son Tom Markle Jr. lives 20 minutes away from Mr Markle’s rehab centre and visits once a week,

Both of his eldest children, from his first marriage to Roslyn Loveless (they divorced in 1975 after 11 years of marriage) approve of his relationship with Rio.

As for Rio, she appears devoted to Mr Markle – who she affectionately refers to as ‘Sir Tom’ – but knew nothing of his royal connections when they met.

She said: ‘I met him on the first day he came here, last December 16, as he was being taking off the ambulance from the hospital. He waved at me.

‘I was a bit worried because someone had told me he had a reputation for being grumpy.

‘But I started working with him and he is a total gentleman and someone who is kind and funny.

‘I didn’t know who he was when I met him. Here in the Philippines Meghan and Harry are not a big deal. 

‘Mr Markle is a kind man. All the nurses and staff love him. He’s funny.’

Rio, who blushes easily, is reluctant to discuss their romance except to say: ‘I care deeply for him.’

A divorcee, she has a 16-year-old son who is about to graduate high school and wants to be a teacher and a 22-year-old daughter who is at college studying to be a pharmacist.

Mr Markle says he knows some people will be critical and may even poke fun at his late-in-life relationship but ‘it honestly doesn’t matter to me.’

He said: ‘I’ve been through tough times which makes me appreciate the good times.

‘I finally at peace. I was in pain for so many years about what happened with my youngest daughter Meghan.

‘I could never escape the stories online and in magazines and newspapers. I was constantly hounded by paparazzi.

‘Over here I lead a quiet life. I am grateful for my health, for Rio and for the care I am receiving. I love the Philippines and I am enjoying my life.

‘I don’t care what people think any more.

‘I’m an old man and never thought I would be alive at nearly 82.

‘What happened with Rio happened naturally. We got close and she ended up moving in with me.

‘It’s a relationship I treasure. She makes me very happy and takes very good care of me.

‘I hope I make her happy too.’

Mr Markle wants to take Rio on holiday to America once he is well enough.

He does physiotherapy three times a week, is about to start aqua therapy and hopes to be fitted with a prosthetic limb later in the year.

Mr Markle, who worked on two hit shows – General Hospital and Married With Children, said: ’I would love to take Rio to Los Angeles and show her all the places in Hollywood where I worked for so many years.’

Would he drive to Montecito?

He laughs.

‘No, I would never do that. What’s the point?,’ he said.

‘I’d love to see my grandkids. It makes me sad that King Charles has only met Archie and Lilibet once or twice. 

‘How strange it is that me, over here in my little world, and him, the King of England, are both in the same boat. We both can’t see our grandkids.

‘I love Meghan. She is my daughter.

‘But I don’t know how much time I have left and I want to spent what time I have being happy. Rio makes me happy.’

As for the question of marriage – could Meghan wake up one day to find she has a Filipino stepmom?

Mr Markle said: ‘I would marry Rio if it was beneficial to her. But it’s not something we’ve discussed.

‘For now we are just enjoying life. I am grateful every morning I wake up and feel safe and cared for.

‘Rio has made me very happy.’

The grieving father of a young woman who was murdered by an undocumented immigrant in Illinois has issued a stark warning, urging for a shift in policies to prevent further tragedies similar to the one that claimed the life of Sheridan Gorman.

Sheridan Gorman, a freshman at Loyola University Chicago, tragically lost her life at the age of 18. On March 19, she was spending time with friends at a pier in Rogers Park when she was fatally shot. The alleged shooter, 25-year-old Jose Medina-Medina, is an undocumented immigrant. According to the Department of Homeland Security, he entered the United States in 2023 and was subsequently apprehended and released under the policies of the Biden administration.

During a court session on Friday, it was disclosed by prosecutors that Gorman had discovered Medina-Medina concealed behind a lighthouse. As she alerted her friends about the suspicious presence, Medina-Medina reportedly pursued them and fired a gun, hitting Gorman in the upper back.

In a separate incident in January 2025, Joe Abraham’s daughter, Katie, was also killed, highlighting the ongoing risk. Katie died in a hit-and-run accident in Urbana, Illinois, involving Julio Cucul-Bol, another undocumented immigrant. After crashing into Katie’s vehicle, Cucul-Bol fled the scene and was later sentenced to 30 years in prison for his actions.

Joe Abraham told Fox News Digital that there will be more victims dead if Illinois doesn’t change its immigration policies.

“I am speaking out because I know there will be more deaths and more victims. Not everyone dies, but there are innocent victims every day. And that’s why I’m speaking out. Because these policies are so reckless, so radical, so extreme,” he said. “There’s no balance to it. There is no consideration for anything.”

He said that the murder of Gorman and his daughter, Katie Abraham, are “very parallel” and show how immigration policy in Illinois needs to be changed.

“One was a point-blank murder shooting. The other one was a reckless person who was driving on the influence. But the difference is they were both violent. They were both done by people who shouldn’t be here. They were done by clearly people who were not here to better their lives,” Joe Abraham said. “They were clearly done by people who had severe diseases, like in Katie’s case. Her killer has HIV and is being treated now that he’s incarcerated, but Illinois did nothing to help him.”

Joe Abraham says his daughter was a “beautiful person” with a “sharp wit.”

“She was so personable. Her personality was so engaging, made everyone feel seen, heard, cared for, compassionate, fair-minded. She loved the water. She was a water polo player. She was a competitive swimmer. Did that all through high school. She had her whole life ahead of her. And see, you know, like a sponge, she soaked in life, every piece of it, and she was only 20. We still had so many plans ahead of us that were, you know, that are just gone because of reckless policies,” he added.

Similarly, Gorman was described in an obituary as someone who “had a way of making people feel seen, valued and believed in.”

“People often say someone ‘lit up a room’ or had ‘inner and outer beauty,’ but in Sheridan’s case, those phrases fall way too short. She radiated something even greater—a rare and unmistakable warmth, a spirit that was vibrant, compassionate, and full of life. She was funny, kind and deeply loving, with a heart that made space for everyone,” her obituary states. “She loved fiercely—her family, her friends, her community and her faith. She brought people together, lifted them up and made the ordinary moments feel extraordinary simply by being in them.”

A police source told Fox News earlier that the shooting was an apparent ambush, adding that the suspect was reportedly wearing some kind of face mask or covering.

After the shooting, Medina-Medina was spotted on security camera in his apartment building lobby waiting for an elevator, and wasn’t masked. A building engineer told police he knew the suspect who had a “very distinct limp and gait.”

Pictures of the suspect’s face were sent to a police database, and information from U.S. Customs and Border Protection identified the suspect as Medina-Medina. 

When Medina-Medina was in Colombia after his mother moved there with him from Venezuela, he was shot in the head, which resulted in the loss of a portion of his brain and skull, leaving him to relearn basic functions, his attorney said. Medina-Medina’s attorney said that he has the brain development of a child and cannot read or write.

Medina-Medina’s attorney also said that he suffers from epilepsy and still has bullet fragments lodged in his brain. The murder suspect turned himself in at the Texas border in 2023, where he was held in detention before being released. His attorney said that Medina-Medina requested to be sent back to Colombia, where his mother had moved to, but was transported by bus to Chicago. 

During Medina-Medina’s time in a shelter, he contracted tuberculosis, according to his attorney.

Long before Louis Theroux delved into the complexities of the ‘manosphere’, the acclaimed British documentarian may have inadvertently explored its fringes nearly three decades ago. At that time, he interviewed a male dating coach, often referred to as a ‘speed seduction specialist’.

In an episode of his series Weird Weekends, Theroux observed with skepticism as American author Ross Jeffries attempted to engage a woman at a California café using so-called hypnotic techniques.

The self-proclaimed ‘dating coach’, sporting glasses, displayed methods aimed at helping men bypass a woman’s initial judgments, often based on appearance, wealth, or social standing. He also bragged about maintaining relationships with multiple women simultaneously.

Figures like Jeffries, who specialize in instructing men on how to ‘capture’ women, have become central figures in the controversial manosphere. Here, influencers showcase their strategies while promoting damaging ideologies surrounding consent and attraction.

Creators such as Harrison Sullivan (HSTikkyTokky), Myron Gaines and Walter Weekes (Fresh & Fit), Russel Hatley, Stirling Cooper, and Hamza Ahmed push the envelope with extreme dating advice for men. Their content often includes guidance on ‘disciplining’ women or persuading them into situations like threesomes, through both online videos and costly coaching sessions.

Before the advent of the ‘alpha male’ TikTok dating coach, however, a faction of YouTube content creators propagated similar views in ‘street interviews’, when they asked women sexually inappropriate and awkward questions to ‘seduce’ them. 

But while the platform’s most notorious ‘pick up artists’ once had substantial followings, their clout has since dissipated – as we take a look at where they are now. 

Jack Manley 

Jack Manley earned over 1.4 million followers with videos titled ‘Hot Girls on Needy Guys’ and ‘Does Height Matter’

American YouTuber Jack Manley became internet famous in 2017 when he started hitting on inebriated women outside bars in Austin, Texas, and posting the clips online.  

He earned over 1.4 million followers with videos titled ‘Hot Girls on Needy Guys’ and ‘Does Height Matter’ as Jack, now 28, proved how his method of ‘seduction’ could overcome a perceived dating advantage like being too short. 

Uncomfortable clips showed Jack kissing women on the street or hoisting them onto his shoulder after a few minutes of chatting while demonstrating bizarre flirting ‘techniques’ like ‘saying nothing’. 

He leveraged his YouTube success into a coaching programme called ‘The Manley Method’ but stopped posting one year later. 

His channel has been wiped, barring 10 videos, but he is frequently featured in ‘cringe compilations’ put together by YouTubers like GunnarTV and Cody Ko.

In one video posted in 2021, Cody revealed Manley had migrated to OnlyFans at the time, but his account on the adult subscription platform has since been taken down.

Today, all that remains of Manley on the internet are stray comments about his whereabouts. One Reddit post reads: ‘Does anybody know what happened to Jack Manley TV?’ 

‘Seriously, I’m trying to find out,’ another message began. ‘He had a big channel and just completely disappeared three or four years ago…’ 

One Instagram page associated with Jack Manley is bizarrely described as a ‘charity organisation’. The last photo was posted on September 23, 2020, and shows Manley carrying a woman on his shoulder while holding a squirt gun with a microphone taped to it. 

Another profile associated with the controversial YouTuber has hundreds of short clips from his most popular videos and a link to his website – promising ‘My Best Product EVER’ – that is currently suspended. 

Justin Marc 

Controversial YouTuber and self-styled dating coach Justin Marc – who was accused of sexual assault last November – also posted ‘street interview’ videos on YouTube 

Justin Marc Aguiar, an Indian-origin YouTuber based in Toronto, was 17 when he started posting dating content on the platform. 

His earliest videos were about ‘picking up’ older women outside bars and clubs, along with ‘guides’ to dating ‘foreign girls’ and ‘how to get laid’ filmed in exotic locales like Cancun, Mexico. 

He plugged a website called ‘Lets Get Girls’ that promised to ‘explode your results with women’ before the controversial content creator – who was accused of sexual assault last November – started posting ‘street interview’ videos. 

In one such clip from 2021, the club promoter bragged about ‘picking up HOT Thai girls in Bangkok’ and included footage of him in bed with a scantily clad woman. 

He told viewers that the women he interviewed were ‘loving’ his ‘inappropriate’ questions about topics like oral sex, as Justin added: ‘They find it hilarious. I ended up making out with one of the girls.’

In another video, filmed in Helsinki, Finland, the ‘international dating coach’ advised his followers about ‘how to have sex in public’. 

The club promoter, who brags about lifestyle as a ‘VIP Nightlife Host’ on social media, also flogs $2,597 dating courses for men to ‘open, hook and close and pull gorgeous women’.

He also reportedly offers dating lessons from ‘certified pimps’ with their own social media followings, as Canadian news website CP24 reported they covered things like ‘how to cheat and juggle five girlfriends at once’. 

Justin has 143,000 YouTube subscribers and continues to post on his channel after he was accused of sexual assault. 

On November 27, 2025, Canadian media reported that Justin had been arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault that allegedly occurred at his apartment in Toronto’s entertainment district in August 2024. 

The 22-year-old woman, identified only as ‘Jay’, told CP24: ‘We thought we were going to a super-fun party. And when we got there, that was not the case. It was just Justin and his roommate.

‘I was being cornered in an uncomfortable position, so that’s why I was able to fight for myself and say “I need to get myself out of this situation.”‘

Jay added she was speaking out to warn other women about Justin’s tactics, explaining: ‘I would tell them not to engage with him. Don’t give him the time of day.  There’s no value in associating with a man like that.’

Justin’s lawyer, Dylan Finlay, said: ‘My client is presumed innocent. The charge laid against him is an allegation. At this stage, we are awaiting the specifics of what the allegation is, which will be provided to us through the disclosure process. 

‘That said, he denies sexually assaulting anyone. He will respond to the allegation fully in court.’

This isn’t the first time Justin has been accused of sexual assault; court records in Toronto show he was charged twice before, including in 2019 and 2023. Both charges were withdrawn. 

In the 2019 case, Justin agreed to an 18-month peace bond and paid a $500 surety. He was instructed not to communicate with the alleged victim or attend any place she lived, worked or went to school, CP24 reported. 

He also agreed not to possess any weapons. 

Since the latest allegation against Justin, he has continued to post on social media – including sharing NSFW clips of women dancing suggestively and kissing each other on Threads. 

Drew Meyers

Drew Meyers, who also goes by Eric Davis, is among the male YouTubers who amassed a large following from recording ‘pick up’ interviews. 

He has over 220,000 followers on Instagram, where Drew shares the most outrageous moments from his longer clips with titles like ‘Want to touch my banana?’, ‘What age did you lose your V-card?’, and ‘How TikTokers pick up girls’.

He hasn’t posted on Instagram since 2025, but the last clip racked up over 10 million views as Drew asked a girl to describe how she lost her virginity in a truck. 

Drew has seemingly shifted his content from YouTube to TikTok, where he has over 350,000 followers.  

In one video, captioned ‘I bagged her’, Drew chatted up a woman called Sophia, who claimed 30 men had tried to sleep with her in the ‘last week’. 

However, the prank-style video ended with Drew putting a brown paper bag over the woman’s head. 

Adrian Gruszka 

Adrian Gruszka’s videos have translated into a nearly two-million following on YouTube, but the page has been inactive since June 2025

YouTuber Adrian Gruszka or Adrian Gee started posting ‘intentionally awkward and funny’ content, including ‘public trolling’ and ‘street interviews’ in 2011.

Like other ‘pick up’ creators, Adrian has shared interviews with women about masturbation, infidelity, nude pictures or ‘d*** pics’ and their sexual preferences. 

In other videos, the ‘globetrotting’ dating entrepreneur – who also sells financial development courses online – demonstrated how he could ‘pick up girls while juggling’ or by putting on an Australian accent. 

Adrian’s Instagram profile has not been updated since January. 

In one of his most recent posts, Adrian reflected on his journey that began in 2012 with a ‘cheap camera, zero followers’ while vowing to ‘create like it’s my last year’ in 2026. 

Another video from January 14, which was recorded in Brazil, showed Adrian encouraging a friend to ask a group of women for a sip of their drink.

However, what began with prank videos gradually turned into street interviews as Israel asked women about their ‘body count’ – manosphere slang that refers to the number of sexual partners they have had.

In one video, posted last February, Israel seemed to reiterate the misogynistic belief held by communities within the manosphere that a woman’s worth is determined by her promiscuity. 

The video began with Israel saying ‘today’s agenda…trying to find a baddie to sleep with tonight on spring break’. At one point, he asked a girl her age for ‘confirmation’ before she replied she was 19. 

Elsewhere, when a girl asked Israel to take her on a few dates, he countered by saying: ‘What’s your body count?

‘If I’m investing, I want to know you have low mileage.’

As the conversation continued, Israel said ‘it don’t matter what the guy has, it matter what the woman has’. 

He added: ‘Does it make a man less of a man if he can’t change a flat tyre?’ 

A Sei whale that recently washed ashore at Rockaway Beach likely met its end due to a boat collision, according to scientists.

Specialists from the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society conducted a necropsy on this enormous 45-foot marine creature, which appeared on the beach last Thursday, officials reported.

During the animal autopsy, experts identified characteristic abrasions on the whale’s right flank. Further internal investigation revealed significant bruising in the surrounding tissues on that same side, officials noted, as reported by PIX11.

The initial evidence strongly suggests that a boat strike was the probable cause of the whale’s demise.

The whale, measuring 40 feet in length, was initially seen drifting approximately 15 miles off the Long Island coast before eventually coming ashore near Beach 95.

Swarms of the curious rushed to take photos of the whale and had to be cordoned off behind yellow tape, according to a Facebook post of the heartbreaking scene.

It’s extremely dangerous to stand near a dead whale, said experts.

When a deceased whale becomes beached, decomposition begins almost immediately. The whale’s body begins to bloat, and the sunlight’s heat hastens the process.

As the gasses expand, the skin thins and begins to give way. The pressure inside the whale builds to dangerous levels and can result in explosive consequences — and devastating injuries for anyone standing nearby.

Sei whales are listed under the Endangered Species Act, according to NOAA.
