NATO Allies Prepare Evacuation Plans for Potential Russian Attack

0

Lithuania and Poland are drawing up evacuation plans to prepare for the possibility of a full-scale war with Russia.

The preparations include procedures, logistics and infrastructure planning, as well as potential civilian evacuation routes through the Suwalki Gap.

Described as Nato’s “Achilles heel”, the Suwalki Gap is a roughly 60-mile stretch of land connecting Poland and Lithuania. Nato military leaders fear it could become a target for an attack ordered by Vladimir Putin.

The corridor runs between Belarus, a close ally of Moscow, and Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave.

If Russian forces moved from Belarus across the gap to Kaliningrad, the Kremlin could potentially cut Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania off from their allies in central and western Europe.

Vilnius and Warsaw are working on a bilateral agreement that would establish the framework for the evacuation plans, according to Lithuania’s National Crisis Management Centre.

The announcement came as Lithuania began nationwide emergency drills, including exercises to test evacuation procedures along its border with Poland.

Moscow has increasingly tested Nato’s resolve through a series of suspected covert attacks targeting countries on or near the alliance’s borders.

Lithuania and Poland are developing evacuation plans in the event of full-blown war with Russia

Lithuania and Poland are preparing evacuation plans in case of a full-scale war with Russia

Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of Lithuania’s National Crisis Management Centre, said: “Procedures, logistics and infrastructure capabilities are being analysed together with colleagues from Poland, and the plan itself should be developed once an agreement is reached between the two countries.”

He said the arrangements would also include provisions for evacuating civilians from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Authorities are also considering border controls if a threat emerges, both to support mobilisation and to “prevent people in certain key roles from leaving the country”.

Around 20 Polish officials were sent to Lithuania for exercises testing border procedures. The wider drills involve about 3,000 officials and 1,000 volunteers and are scheduled to continue until October 2.

Earlier this month, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said intelligence assessments indicated that Russia was preparing “plans for hybrid strikes using drones and missiles against countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland”.

He warned that the “provocations” were “far more dangerous than those we have faced so far”.

Russia is suspected of involvement in covert attacks against several sites in Nato countries, including a warehouse in Britain, a weapons factory in Estonia and an airport in Germany.

On September 18, airports in Rzeszów and Lublin, Poland, suspended operations after Moscow launched an attack on western Ukraine just miles from the Nato border.

The incident was the latest in a series of Russian strikes near Poland’s border in recent months.

Western intelligence officials told The Telegraph that Putin is preparing a “stealth mobilisation” following the State Duma elections, potentially allowing thousands of Russians to be drafted.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said Moscow may eventually have to change its recruitment methods and introduce some form of involuntary reserve call-up if it continues suffering casualties at the current rate.

The Russian leader is said to have been backed into a corner, with the military having suffered 1.5 million casualties, including 500,000 fatalities in Ukraine, and his invasion effectively at a stalemate.

Meanwhile, European leaders have warned that the Kremlin’s hybrid war against the West is likely to intensify ‘in months, not years’.

On Thursday morning, four Russian drones breached Moldova’s airspace.

Maia Sandu, the president of Moldova, wrote on X: ‘Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine reached Moldova again this morning. Four Russian drones violated our airspace, and at least one exploded in the north. Russia’s war endangers all of Europe.’

Earlier this week, the CIA warned of a Russian operation using seaborne drones against targets in Spain, France or Italy.

The attacks would see Russia fire 600 km-range drones from commercial ships, hitting ports, airports and other infrastructure, according to El Mundo, the Spanish newspaper.

Mother and Daughter Die of Cancer Just Hours Apart in Tragedy

Relatives have described their family’s grief after a mother and daughter died from cancer just 10 hours apart.

Cibele Marchis, 28, died at about 4 p.m. Thursday at a hospital in Mogi Guaçu, Brazil, according to G1.

Her mother, Maria Elisabete Nogueira, 56, died at approximately 2 a.m. Friday after being sedated at another hospital in the city, the outlet reported.

Family members said Cibele, who worked in digital marketing, was diagnosed in 2024 with a rare, aggressive cancer that began in her adrenal gland.

Around a year later, Maria learned she had pancreatic cancer. She had initially sought medical care believing her symptoms were caused by a gallstone, relatives said.

Cibele underwent multiple surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy. In December 2025, doctors warned the family that she was nearing the end of her life after developing infections, Bárbara Rodrigues dos Santos told G1.

During that difficult period, Bárbara said, the mother and daughter supported one another as they faced their illnesses.

“She [Maria] fasted for 24 hours, asking for a miracle for her daughter, and God answered. God gave her daughter back,” Bárbara said.

After recovering, Cibele was discharged from the hospital and looked forward to rebuilding her life, her relative said.

“She wanted to live,” Bárbara told the outlet, adding that Cibele remained undeterred by her scars and colostomy bag.

Maria, affectionately known as Bia, received less treatment because her cancer progressed quickly.

Her pain eventually became so severe that she needed morphine. She was admitted to the hospital on September 17, according to the report.

Cibele visited her mother while Maria was ill. About a week later, however, Cibele’s own condition deteriorated and she also required medical care.

“I arrived home from my trip on Wednesday, and my mother said that Bia was unwell,” Rowilson Leandro da Costa, Maria’s nephew and Cibele’s cousin, told G1.

“When I received the call on Thursday, everyone expected it to be my aunt, not Cibele.”

Rowilson said he organized Cibele’s wake. After the family returned home from saying goodbye to her, they received the news that Maria had also died.

“I had to tell my uncle, who was already grieving his daughter, that his wife had died too,” he said.

Rowilson said that Cibele was the couple’s only child, and that his uncle has been lost without them.

‘He lost his family. To come home and find no one there anymore. It’s sad, difficult,’ he explained.

Their family said that the mother and daughter both wished not to be told of their deaths if one of them was still alive.

‘Neither of the two wanted to see the other die,’ according to Rowilson.

‘They even commented on it, sometimes jokingly, other times seriously, and it happened. One never found out about the other’s death. It really is an astonishing thing.’

In March, Cibele shared a clip of her being hooked up to an IV drip, stating: ‘As long as your only problem is money, be grateful.

‘Worse is facing something that not even all the money in the world can solve.’

She often posted photos alongside her mother, and the two appeared to travel a lot before their final days.

Eloá Righi, Cibele’s business partner, recalled her never letting her sickness bring her down.

‘She didn’t let cancer define her. She didn’t want to be known as Cibele who has cancer, but rather as Cibele who works, has fun, lives, and has cancer,’ she said.

Her mother had a similar way about her, according to well-wisher Jorge Vitorino.

‘Bia was a light wherever she went: a joyful, affectionate woman with a generous heart, who left unforgettable marks on everyone who had the blessing of sharing her life,’ he shared.

‘Her life was a constant example of faith, love, affection and dedication to family and friends.’

Police Chief Dies After Delivery Truck Driver Hits His Car

A Maryland town is grieving after its longtime police chief died in a head-on crash involving a delivery truck.

George William Bacorn Jr., 62, who led the Denton Police Department, was killed Friday morning on a road near Easton, according to authorities.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., Bacorn was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound behind a Chevrolet Silverado. In the opposite lane, 31-year-old Antonio Jaquan Handy was behind the wheel of a Ford Transit delivery van.

Maryland State Police said the delivery truck crossed the double yellow center line for reasons that remain unclear. It first clipped the Silverado’s side mirror before crashing into Bacorn’s SUV.

Bacorn was pronounced dead at the scene. Handy sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to a nearby trauma center, police said.

The Silverado’s driver was not hurt, and authorities reported no additional injuries.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation. Its findings will be submitted to the Talbot County State’s Attorney’s Office, which will decide whether charges should be brought against the delivery-truck driver.

Denton, the seat of Caroline County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, has been mourning a police chief who served the community for 36 years. Tributes have come from residents, local officials and Maryland’s governor.

Bacorn served as police chief for 36 years and was beloved by the community. The governor of Maryland, Wes Moore, even released a statement mourning his death

Bacorn spent 36 years as Denton’s police chief and was widely respected in the community. Maryland Governor Wes Moore joined the tributes following his death.

The Town of Denton announced the loss in a statement, saying it was “with profound sadness” that officials confirmed the police chief’s death after the crash.

Town officials offered their deepest sympathies to Bacorn’s family and to the officers and staff of the Denton Police Department.

They also asked the public to honor the family’s privacy, while keeping Bacorn’s loved ones, the department and the town in their thoughts and prayers.

Moore said Bacorn “embodied the meaning of serving others” and devoted his life to protecting communities and helping keep people safe.

“Denton, Caroline County, and all of Maryland is a better place because of his courage and public service,” the governor said.

The governor ordered Maryland flags to be flown at half-staff and asked residents to join him and his wife in praying for Bacorn’s family, the Denton Police Department and the broader law enforcement community.

After the crash, Bacorn’s remains were taken to the Baltimore Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials later arranged a formal escort to return his body to Denton on Sunday.

Authorities closed roads along the roughly two-hour journey from Baltimore, Maryland’s largest city, to the Eastern Shore town.

Texas Man Arrested After Crashing Into Closed Kroger for Bathroom

0

A Texas man was arrested after police said he deliberately drove through the entrance of a Kroger grocery store because he needed to use the bathroom.

The unidentified driver allegedly became upset when he found the store’s doors locked and crashed into the building overnight Sunday, while the business was closed.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. Sunday in Rosenberg, Texas, according to police.

The collision caused extensive damage throughout the store.

Photos released by police showed the vehicle inside the grocery store, with shattered glass scattered both inside and outside the entrance.

The entrance’s metal door frames also sustained significant damage.

“On Sunday, September 27th, at approximately 0428, a known male individual intentionally accelerated into Kroger, causing extensive damage to the pharmacy entrance,” the Rosenberg Police Department wrote on Facebook.

“I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go but we strongly advise finding a store open for business…to do your business,” the department added.

Police identified the suspect only as a 60-year-old man.

FOX 26 reported that he was arrested on a criminal mischief charge.

On Poland-Ukraine Border, Residents Brace for Russian Hybrid Attack

0

DOROHUSK — Three separate warnings jolted this Polish border village in a single day, alerting residents that a drone or missile might enter from Ukraine and urging them to be ready to seek shelter.

High above Dorohusk, in eastern Poland, thin vapor trails stretched across the light-blue sky as military helicopters thundered overhead. At the nearby border crossing, just 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) away, traffic into Ukraine was halted three times. On one occasion, personnel were evacuated.

The alerts and border disruptions unfolded Thursday while The Associated Press was visiting the community. Together, they captured the growing tension along Poland’s eastern frontier, where Russia’s war in Ukraine — now in its fourth year — is being felt with increasing immediacy.

Fear deepened after two Russian drones exploded on the Ukrainian side of the Dorohusk-Yahodyn crossing during the early hours of Sept. 13. The blasts were loud enough to be heard clearly throughout Dorohusk.

“There is new restlessness and fear because you could hear those explosions very well on that night in our village,” said Dorohusk Mayor Wojciech Sawa. “We had never had something like that before. This was the first time the sirens wailed.”

Poland braces for a more serious Russian hybrid attack

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Sept. 17 that Russia was preparing hybrid attacks involving drones or rockets against European countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland. He warned that areas near the Ukrainian border could face particular danger in the months ahead. Other European leaders and intelligence agencies have issued similar warnings.

Dorohusk residents have spent years living alongside the conflict. In the first weeks of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, they watched Ukrainian refugees cross the border. Then, in July, a Russian missile traveled through Polish airspace before crashing roughly 90 kilometers (56 miles) inside the country.

Still, the latest drone strikes — along with the Polish government’s campaign to prepare people for potentially more serious incidents — have created a sharper sense of unease. For many residents, the official warnings have brought confusion as well as concern.

Children in Poland’s border areas evacuate as air-raid warnings sound

Jarosław Wójcicki, director of the Dorohusk school, said teachers and staff — including the school psychologist — now speak with students “practically every day” about how to respond and remain safe.

The school has been evacuated once so far. Wójcicki pointed to two basement rooms where students sheltered, with the windows covered to reduce the risk of injuries from flying glass if an explosion occurred.

“The older children had no problem at all, without showing any particular emotion,” the director said. “You could see a little fear among the younger children, but they were well looked after by their teachers.”

Wójcicki oversees the safety of hundreds of students who travel to the school from surrounding villages. His voice faltered as he described the weight of that responsibility.

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz visited the Dorohusk-Yahodyn crossing on Sept. 22, announcing that additional air-defense systems would be sent to the border area. He also said Patriot batteries had been positioned in both Polish regions bordering Ukraine, including the region where Dorohusk lies.

Poland still has work to do on civil defense readiness

Although government warnings have grown more urgent, even communities closest to Ukraine acknowledge that their civil-defense systems are still developing.

“We are at the beginning of the process of building civil resilience and the resilience of the state to threats,” said Mirosław Sokal, head of resident safety for Lublin, about 90 kilometers west of Dorohusk. “We have to remember that over the past 40 years we thought we would be living in peace.”

Until stronger infrastructure is in place, Sokal said residents should follow one basic rule during an air threat: move indoors and position themselves behind two walls, away from windows.

Sawa said most Dorohusk residents live in detached houses with basements, making those spaces the clearest option during an air emergency. “If I don’t have a basement myself, my neighbor likely does,” the mayor said.

But people on the streets of Dorohusk seemed more confused about their options in case of a real attack.

“For now, I sleep well at night, so I don’t really hear it,” said Irena Popek, a woman in her 80s. If planes are coming, she said, her basement was not an option as it was flooded. “I simply have nowhere to hide, and that’s it.”

Renata Pastuszo, a local shop employee, said she continued working through the recent siren alarm because it’s better to keep a positive spirit in front of the Russian threat.

Krzysztof Rulka, another resident, complained that alerts were now coming too often, leaving people confused about their meaning.

“If someone told me that a drone was going to explode in the center of Dorohusk, then I would know what to do,” he said. “But this kind of confusion — there’s an air attack somewhere in Ukraine — well, what am I supposed to do now? Run to Germany?”

Shooter Heads to Prison After Husband Fought to Save His Wife

A Nevada man has been sentenced to more than three decades in prison for killing a woman on the Las Vegas Strip during a robbery spree carried out on New Year’s Eve, which prosecutors described as the busiest day of the year to “make money.”

Jordan Ruby, 22, received a sentence Thursday of 35 years to life for the murder of 66-year-old Clarice Yamaguchi. He pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in August.

Ruby’s co-defendant, 24-year-old Jesani Carter, also pleaded guilty to killing Yamaguchi and 60-year-old Hyo Sup “Richard” Um, as well as multiple robbery charges. Carter is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 8.

Yamaguchi and her husband were visiting Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve 2021. As they walked through a mall parking lot toward their vehicle, Ruby and Carter pulled up in a BMW.

The passenger exited the car and demanded Yamaguchi’s purse. When her husband tried to fight him off, a gunshot was fired, striking Yamaguchi.

Yamaguchi’s daughter spoke in court about the moments leading up to her mother’s death.

“The last thing my mom witnessed was my dad fighting with everything he had against her attacker to protect the love of his life,” she said, according to local CBS affiliate KLAS.

Robert Yamaguchi told the court that he believed Ruby should have received a “death sentence.”

“I am really disappointed,” he said.

Prosecutors described Carter as the “leader of this rampage that went on in our community,” while saying Ruby had demonstrated remorse.

Ruby accepted responsibility for his role and said nothing could justify his actions.

“I should have never been there, and now I have to live with that for the rest of my life and I’m sorry,” he reportedly said. “And I took your loved one away from you, and the rest of her family. I am working on rehabilitating myself, growing, developing, God blessed me with a second chance.”

According to a courtroom report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Ruby and Carter fled the scene and went to Sahara Las Vegas. There, they allegedly tried to steal a backpack from an employee and fired at him before heading to Palace Station.

At Palace Station, police said the pair robbed a woman at gunpoint in a parking garage. They then took Um’s wallet and shot him to death.

The two men escaped but were later arrested after crashing their BMW into a tree.

Before pleading guilty, Carter told the Review-Journal in a jailhouse interview shortly after his arrest that police had detained the wrong person. He claimed to be a high-stakes gambler who already owned expensive clothing and therefore had no reason to commit robberies.

“I’m gonna be free tomorrow,” he said.

Chris Brown Hangs Backstage With His Children Royalty and Aeko at L.A. Tour Stop

0

Chris Brown brought two of his children along for his latest Los Angeles tour dates.
After joining Usher for back-to-back performances at SoFi Stadium on Sept. 25 and 26, the singer posted a series of Instagram photos featuring his daughter, Royalty Brown, 12, and son, Aeko Catori Brown, 6.

The snapshots showed Brown spending time with his children backstage. Royalty and Aeko both wore denim shorts and hats that echoed their father’s style.
“Gang,” Brown wrote in the caption.
Royalty also shared her own behind-the-scenes highlights, including a picture with Love Island USA alum Huda Mustafa.

A few days before the family reunion backstage, Brown celebrated Royalty by sharing her latest school photo on Instagram Stories.
“My baby growing up on me… So proud of everything you are,” he wrote. “THE FIRST BLESSING THAT CHANGED MY LIFE .”

Royalty, Brown’s daughter with Nia Guzman, was born on May 27, 2014. His son Aeko, whom he shares with Ammika Harris, was born on Nov. 20, 2019. Brown is also the father of 4-year-old daughter Lovely Symphani with Diamond Brown, as well as baby Arrow with Jada Wallace.

Brown has previously opened up about the joy he finds in watching his children grow and develop their own personalities.
“It’s fun, it’s funny to see them grow, see different things they learn… they teach you. I’m loving it, I’m having a blast,” he told Big Boy’s Neighborhood.
Despite the spotlight surrounding his music career, Brown said his children experience a more personal version of him.
“I think majority of the time when I am with my kids they only see Chris,” he explained. “It’s a challenge, but it’s a good journey though.”
Brown and Usher launched The R&B Tour in June. Their co-headlining stadium run is scheduled to continue Sept. 29 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Fans Applaud Sabrina Carpenter’s Casting in Upcoming Fred Astaire Biopic

0

Sabrina Carpenter at the 02 Arena in 2025

Movies

Classic Hollywood is making a comeback on the big screen, with filmmakers continuing to revisit the stars and stories that shaped cinema’s golden age. One of the most anticipated projects in that trend is an upcoming Fred Astaire biopic, with Tom Holland taking on the legendary dancer. Details about production and a release date remain limited, but new casting updates are already generating excitement. Sabrina Carpenter is expected to play Astaire’s celebrated performance partner, Ginger Rogers—a choice many fans believe is remarkably well matched.

Hollywood appears eager to look backward, with a growing number of films drawing on the glamour and personalities of earlier eras. The new Fred Astaire movie will offer audiences a dramatized look at one of Old Hollywood’s most enduring figures, played by Tom Holland. Although the project has yet to reveal much about its schedule, the cast is steadily coming together. Carpenter’s involvement as Ginger Rogers has been especially well received, with fans quickly highlighting the apparent chemistry and visual resemblance between the pop star and the screen legend.

The cast of an upcoming Fred Astaire biopic takes shape

The film’s expanding lineup is giving fans even more reason to follow the Astaire biopic. Alongside Holland and Carpenter, Margaret Qualley is joining the production, bringing several high-profile names to the story of the Astaire family.

Holland will portray Fred Astaire, while Qualley is set to play his sister, Adele Astaire, who achieved recognition as a vaudeville performer. The Hollywood Reporter says Carpenter will appear as Ginger Rogers, Astaire’s longtime dance partner and co-star. The pair shared the screen in 10 films and became synonymous with the elegance and precision of classic Hollywood musicals before eventually pursuing separate careers.

Paddington director Paul King is behind the Sony Pictures project, which draws from Kathleen Riley’s book The Astaires: Fred and Adele. The role marks Carpenter’s first major movie part since her rise to pop stardom, though acting is familiar territory for her. She began as a child performer and became widely known for playing Maya Hart on Girl Meets World at age 15.

A natural Old Hollywood look

Carpenter’s casting as Rogers has been met with enthusiasm in part because of their strikingly similar appearances. Rogers became known in the 1930s for her polished blonde curls, animated features and effortlessly playful screen presence. Carpenter often channels a comparable retro aesthetic through oversized waves, vintage-inspired gowns, dramatic eye makeup and a bright, expressive smile—all elements that fit the visual language of Old Hollywood.

Their similarities extend beyond appearance. Rogers was celebrated for her wit, confidence and mischievous sense of humor, qualities that also feature prominently in Carpenter’s public persona and performance style.

The differences

There is, however, one obvious difference between the two performers: height. Rogers was approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, slightly above average for a woman born in the 1910s, while Carpenter is closer to 5 feet. That makes the modern star considerably shorter than the actress she will portray.

Still, the height gap is unlikely to pose a serious challenge for the production. Holland is also somewhat shorter than Astaire was, and filmmaking techniques, period costumes and carefully planned staging can easily minimize those differences on screen.

Elizabeth Holmes Vows to ‘Prove My Innocence’ in Prison Selfie

0

Elizabeth Holmes says she is still “fighting to prove my innocence” and hopes to return home to her children, making the declaration in a post featuring a tender pre-prison selfie with her longtime partner, Billy Evans.

The 42-year-old former Theranos executive broke her public silence from prison on Sunday night, marking what she described as 1,216 “endless days and nights” behind bars while insisting that her legal fight to overturn her conviction continues.

Holmes’s X account shared a photograph of her smiling alongside Evans, 33, the hotel heir and father of her two young children.

The affectionate photograph appears to have been taken before Holmes began serving her sentence. Wearing everyday clothes and a blue baseball cap, she rests her head against Evans as they pose outdoors.

“I was silenced for a long time. And then imprisoned,” Holmes wrote.

“I am fighting to prove my innocence and come home to my babies and the love of my life.”

Holmes is serving her sentence at Federal Prison Camp Bryan, a minimum-security facility in Texas. She was convicted in 2022 on four fraud and conspiracy counts linked to Theranos, the blood-testing startup whose dramatic collapse exposed its failed claims and business practices.

Her latest message comes as she approaches a potentially significant step toward release.

Holmes shared a selfie taken before her imprisonment with longtime partner Billy Evans, saying he “fights fiercely” for their family and adding: “I love him beyond space and time.”

Last week, reports said Holmes had been approved to transfer to an Austin-area halfway house next summer.

The former Silicon Valley star is scheduled to move to the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle on August 23, 2027, according to an update listed by the Department of Justice’s Victim Notification System.

The facility is only a few miles from the Austin neighborhood where Evans lives, which could make visits with him and their children easier.

Holmes initially received an 11-year-and-three-month federal prison sentence. In March, that term was reduced by a full year to 10 years and three months, although she is expected to spend less time in custody overall.

In Sunday’s post, Holmes also explained how her social media accounts have remained active during her incarceration.

“I have now been imprisoned for 1,216 endless days and nights,” she wrote. “During that time, as we fight for freedom, my loved ones have helped manage my account. Billy is one of the people carrying that responsibility for me.”

Holmes then praised Evans, who has continued to support her through the collapse of her business empire, her criminal conviction and her time in prison.

“He fights fiercely for me and our family,” she wrote. “I love him beyond space and time.”

Holmes said that from now on, messages containing her own words would be signed with her initials, ‘-EAH,’ while unsigned posts would come from the ‘team’ running the account.

‘I am profoundly grateful for the support we receive as we fight to expose the truth and challenge deeply entrenched perceptions,’ she added.

‘Opening letters from my supporters at the end of unforgiving days constantly ignites the fire in my heart.’

Holmes concluded with a Bible verse: ‘The truth will set you free.’ John 8:32.’

The defiant statement represents the latest attempt by the disgraced entrepreneur to reenter the public conversation after years in which her spectacular rise and fall became one of Silicon Valley’s most notorious scandals.

Theranos was once valued at around $9 billion after Holmes claimed its technology could perform a vast array of medical tests using just a pin prick of blood.

But the company’s claims unraveled following reporting by The Wall Street Journal, eventually leading to its collapse and Holmes’s prosecution.

She continues to challenge her conviction and has sought clemency after her efforts to overturn the verdict through the appeals process suffered setbacks.

Her prison life is a far cry from her years as a celebrated tech billionaire.

Holmes earns just 31 cents an hour working as both a re-entry clerk and law clerk at Bryan, helping other inmates prepare for life outside prison and assisting with legal matters.

She has also been ordered to pay, jointly with former Theranos executive and ex-boyfriend Ramesh ‘Sunny’ Balwani, hundreds of millions of dollars in restitution to victims.

Weekends appear to provide something of an escape from the monotony of prison life.

Recent Daily Mail photographs showed Holmes spending visiting hours with her son William, five, and daughter Invicta, three, on the grounds of the Texas prison.

Holmes has previously described visits from Evans and their children as the highlight of her week.

Her latest social media intervention also comes as Holmes is thrust back into the spotlight by You Can See Everything, Nathan Fielder’s documentary chronicling her final weeks of freedom before she surrendered to prison.

Fielder moved into Holmes and Evans’s California home and filmed them for 34 days as the couple confronted the reality that Holmes would soon be separated from their children.

In the documentary trailer, Evans even acknowledges that he once considered whether Holmes could be scamming him.
