Parents Detained for Alleged Punishment Involving Hot Sauce Consumption by Daughter

0

A couple from Florida has been taken into custody, facing accusations of punishing their daughter by making her ingest homemade hot sauce as a penalty for lying.

Robert and Ashley Eldredge were detained in Brevard County on March 13, charged with child abuse and simple assault, a third-degree felony. Court records examined by Oxygen do not specify if the couple has entered a plea regarding these charges.

The affidavit suggests that the young girl reported her parents forced her to drink a homemade hot sauce, a fiery mix of red peppers, onions, and oil, repeatedly. The most recent incident allegedly occurred on March 11, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit shared with Oxygen.

According to the affidavit, the child claimed that on that day, she was accused of lying about marking a cat with ink, prompting her mother to administer a spoonful of the concoction. She also mentioned being left alone at home for nearly three hours on the same evening.

During an interview with authorities, the girl recounted that her mother, Ashley, would sometimes hold her nose shut to force her to swallow the sauce. She claimed to have an allergy to one of the sauce’s ingredients, which caused her stomach pain and often led to vomiting.

As authorities wrote in the affidavit, the child had visible welts and bruises on her legs which she attributed to her parents striking her with a belt and a hand. The girl indicated in the affidavit that her parents have allegedly used a wooden spoon to cause bruises on her body.

Robert allegedly told police in the affidavit that he used a belt on his daughter as punishment. Meanwhile, per the affidavit, Ashley allegedly confirmed one occurrence where her daughter vomited after drinking the beverage and that she did force the girl to ingest it.

An attorney for Ashley and Robert Eldredge did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Oxygen. The couple’s next court date is April 7.

What Happens if the US Takes Control of Iran’s Most Valuable Asset?

0

President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered the deployment of an additional 2,500 Marines and sailors to the Persian Gulf, as tensions with Iran continue into their fourth week. The conflict has led to increased scrutiny of Iran’s strategic moves, specifically its control over oil tanker traffic in the crucial Strait of Hormuz. Attention is now also focused on Iran’s Kharg Island, a pivotal point in the region.

Kharg Island, situated about 16 miles from the Iranian mainland, is far more than just a geographical detail in the Gulf. It serves as the central hub for approximately 90 percent of Iran’s oil exports. The island’s location in waters that reach depths of up to 100 feet makes it ideal for accommodating large tankers, which cannot access the shallow shores of the mainland.

Securing control of Kharg Island would deliver a significant blow to Iran’s oil industry, potentially pushing Tehran to lift restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is vital, as it normally facilitates the flow of about 20 percent of the world’s oil supply.

However, seizing Kharg Island is no small feat. The newly deployed Marine Expeditionary Units are well-trained for rapid deployment in crisis situations, excelling in operations such as raids, evacuations, and limited territorial seizures. Yet, landing on Kharg does not automatically ensure a sustainable hold over the island.

Marine Expeditionary Units, now being deployed to the region, are trained to be deployed swiftly in a crisis. The units are ideal for raids, evacuations and limited seizures. But just because US forces are capable of landing on Kharg does not guarantee they would be able to hold it.

American ground forces on Kharg would be vulnerable to attack from the Iranian mainland from missiles or drones. Amphibious American forces would also have to be escorted by air support to ensure they’re not attacked on the way to the target.

What opposition would a US landing face? It would not necessarily be a dramatic beach massacre straight out of an old war film. But some 8,000 people live on Kharg, and it’s likely that some military units are still functioning there.

US troops could certainly expect sabotage of key facilities, mortar and small arms attacks, but these would be manageable. The greater danger is a dirty, layered counterattack.

US control of Kharg would cripple Iran's oil industry, prompting Tehran, the US hopes, to reopen the Straits of Hormuz, through which roughly a fifth of the world's oil normally flows

Iran entered the war with the Middle East’s largest ballistic missile stockpile — estimated 2,500 to 6,000 missiles-strong. Iran’s Fateh and Shahab short-range ballistic missiles have a range of 750km, and the newer Fattah-1 hypersonic missiles are designed to evade advanced air defense systems.

That’s on top of a sizable drone arsenal and multiple underground facilities  — along with vast number of small boats and submarines capable of disrupting shipping across the Gulf.

There’s also the threat of a chemical weapons attack against US forces. Iran has deployed chemical weapons before — and might do so again if backed into a corner. Tehran’s battlefield chemical weapon capabilities, which they deployed during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War, have been developed into a sophisticated arsenal.

Indeed, as of 2024, Israeli officials reported with ‘high confidence’ that Tehran has supplied weaponized pharmaceutical-based agents to proxies in Iraq and Syria.

Whilst all of these capabilities are now heavily degraded, the threat remains.

Ultimately, however, the nearby mainland coastline is the real threat. The region near Kharg is a mountainous hard-to-target network of potential bunkers and underground facilities, while coastal towns like Bushehr provide a multitude of short-range firing points.

Would a blockade make more sense? In narrow military terms, probably yes.

A blockade pressures Iran by exerting control over Kharg’s ports and the strait without leaving a Marine battalion exposed on a conspicuous target within Iranian range.

It is hardly clean or safe, but it is easier to envisage than a long-term occupation of an island under constant pressure from the mainland.

Regardless, there are no easy answers here – and almost certainly no swift journey home for US forces.

Iran has warned that any attack on its oil and energy infrastructure would provoke retaliatory strikes against oil infrastructure and military partners in the region. The US can also expect increased pressure on shipping lanes, more retaliation by proxy groups and heightened global market anxiety.

Capturing Kharg is not, in itself, an end to the war. It risks escalating the conflict with unpredictable consequences.

Yes, US Marines could likely secure the small island. But the real challenge is whether America could maintain control of it and easily resupply the force — all while mitigating Iranian retaliation from the mainland.

28-Year-Old Teacher Admits Romantic Involvement with 15-Year-Old Student, Discovered by Teen’s Aunt

0

In a disturbing revelation from Ohio, a teacher has been exposed for engaging in a prolonged and inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student. This educator, betraying her position of trust, inundated the young boy with thousands of text messages, expressing a misguided love for him, before ultimately being discovered by the boy’s aunt.

Jamelah Daboubi, aged 28, who taught 10th grade at Horizon Science Academy in Columbus, Ohio, admitted to her misconduct in February. She faced multiple charges, including gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, as detailed in court documents reported by WBNS.

In April 2025, the situation reached a critical point when the Columbus police were alerted by the teen’s aunt. Responding to a call, they arrived at her residence on Salado Creek Drive, located on the northeast side of the city, according to prosecutors. This incident underscores the serious breach of trust and the impact of such actions within a community.

Daboubi was hit with a slew of charges, including gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, per court documents obtained by WBNS.

In April 2025, Columbus police responded to a call from the teen’s aunt and went to her home on Salado Creek Drive on the city’s northeast side, according to prosecutors.

The aunt said she harrowingly discovered her nephew, over whom she has guardianship, in a car with the teacher.

When interviewed by police, the teen admitted that he had a sexual relationship with Daboubi, including kissing and touching.

The teen also admitted that they had been ‘texting for a couple of months and engaging in sexual activity for a period of time,’ prosecutors said.

Police seized the 15-year-old’s phone, uncovering hundreds of calls and thousands of brazen texts between him and Daboubi.

The texts even included declarations of their twisted ‘love,’ according to the statement.

The perp was fired from her job at the Horizon Science Academy, the school confirmed in a statement released April 21, 2025.

She was initially hit with two counts of sexual battery, which were later amended by authorities, prosecutors said.

The court reportedly recommended a sentence that includes five years of community control, mandatory counseling, the removal of her teaching license, and community service.

As part of her plea deal, Daboubi will be required to register as a sex offender.

When she is sentenced at a later date, she’ll be locked up for 18 months, according to the outlet.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, and Daboubi’s attorney for comment.

This ordeal follows a Washington state high school teacher’s arrest on Monday, after she allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old student inside her classroom closet.

Madeline Gregory, 29, is accused of sexually assaulting the boy at Sprague High School, after telling him she was in a ‘sexless marriage’, court papers said.

Investigators said both the boy and Gregory admitted to the months-long relationship, with the student claiming she threatened suicide if he called it off.

Gregory told investigators that the two had groped one another and that she performed oral sex on the boy inside the closet in her classroom numerous times.

Cheney Free Press reported that the alleged assaults were also carried out inside a gym closet and in bushes next to the school’s tennis court.

The age of consent in Washington is 16, but it is illegal for adults in authority positions to have sexual relationships with teens who are at or above the age of consent who are in their care.

A friend of the alleged victim told police that Gregory told him that she was going to get a divorce because she ‘won’t have sex with her husband’, the court filings state.

Test Your Core: Achieve This Plank Duration After 60 to Outperform 90% of Your Peers

0

A seasoned strength coach clarifies the importance of core strength for individuals over 60.

As one ages, maintaining a robust core becomes increasingly crucial. The muscles surrounding your midsection and spine are fundamental in stabilizing almost every movement. Whether it’s walking, ascending stairs, lugging groceries, or simply standing upright, a strong and agile core plays a key role. When these muscles are well-conditioned, your body moves with enhanced confidence and precision.

Throughout my coaching career, I’ve observed that improvements in core strength often manifest subtly, even before individuals become consciously aware. There’s a noticeable enhancement in balance, posture becomes more aligned, and everyday actions become more fluid and less taxing. Acting as the body’s central support, the core quietly fulfills its role every time you move.

This is where the plank exercise becomes significant. This straightforward position not only engages the core but also involves the shoulders, hips, and legs in a coordinated effort. Unlike exercises that require bending or twisting, the plank focuses on teaching the muscles to stabilize the spine. This capacity to maintain stability under pressure makes it a reliable indicator of core strength.

That’s where the plank comes into the picture. This simple position challenges the entire core while also recruiting the shoulders, hips, and legs to work together. Unlike exercises that involve bending or twisting, the plank trains the muscles to stabilize the spine. That ability to maintain control under tension makes it one of the most reliable measures of core strength.

The best part is that the plank works as both a test and a training tool. The longer someone can hold a strong plank position, the greater the endurance of their core muscles. That’s why coaches frequently use plank hold times as a quick benchmark for overall core strength.

How to Execute a Perfect Plank

Before worrying about how long you can hold a plank, it’s important to focus on quality. A strong plank position keeps the body aligned from head to heels while the core muscles stay engaged throughout the hold.

Follow these steps to perform a proper plank:

  1. Start face down on the floor with your forearms under your shoulders.
  2. Straighten your legs behind you and plant your toes on the ground.
  3. Lift your body so it forms a straight line from head to heels.
  4. Brace your core and squeeze your glutes.
  5. Hold the position while breathing steadily.

Form Tip: Avoid letting your hips sag or rise too high. Your body should remain in one straight line throughout the hold.

Plank Strength Rankings After 60

Plank hold times provide a useful way to measure core endurance. The longer someone maintains proper alignment, the stronger and more resilient the stabilizing muscles around the spine become. This matters because those muscles help protect the lower back, support posture, and improve balance during everyday activities.

While everyone’s starting point looks a little different, plank times can give a helpful snapshot of where your core strength stands. Use the rankings below as a general guideline for assessing your performance.

How Do You Rank

  • Below Average: Less than 20 seconds
  • Average: 20 to 40 seconds
  • Good: 40 to 60 seconds
  • Very Good: 60 to 90 seconds
  • Top 10%: 90 seconds or longer

If you can maintain a strong plank for 90 seconds or more, your core strength likely exceeds 90% of most people in your age group.

How to Improve Your Plank Score

Building a longer plank hold often comes down to consistency and proper progression. The goal is to strengthen the core’s stabilizing muscles while gradually increasing the time they can remain under tension.

Here are several effective strategies for improving your plank score:

  • Practice shorter holds more frequently: Multiple sets of 20 to 30 seconds often build endurance faster than a single long hold.
  • Focus on perfect alignment: Keeping your body in a straight line activates the correct muscles and prevents energy leaks.
  • Strengthen supporting muscles: Exercises like glute bridges, bird dogs, and dead bugs help reinforce core stability.
  • Add plank variations: Side planks, plank shoulder taps, and plank marches challenge the core in different ways.
  • Progress gradually: Add five to ten seconds to your hold time as your strength improves.

Consistent practice usually produces noticeable improvements within a few weeks.

Best Daily Tips for Building Core Strength

A strong core develops through regular movement and smart training habits. The muscles that stabilize the spine respond well to consistent exercise and controlled repetitions. Small daily habits can make a meaningful difference in how the body feels and moves.

  • Train the core regularly: Short sessions performed several times per week help build endurance.
  • Strengthen the hips and glutes: These muscles work together with the core to stabilize the body.
  • Maintain upright posture throughout the day: Sitting and standing tall encourages the core to stay engaged.
  • Prioritize controlled movement: Smooth, deliberate repetitions activate deeper stabilizing muscles.
  • Stay consistent with your routine: Regular practice helps the core grow stronger and more resilient.

Stick with these habits and your core will continue supporting stronger movement, better balance, and greater confidence in everyday activity.

Chappell Roan Faces Backlash: Banned from Brazilian Concert After Emotional Incident

Chappell Roan has been barred from performing at the Todo Mundo no Rio festival following accusations that she dispatched her security team to intimidate Jude Law’s 11-year-old daughter. The incident allegedly occurred after the young girl walked by the singer.

Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, is a 28-year-old singer who was in São Paulo for a performance at Lollapalooza. During her stay, Ada, Jude Law’s daughter, reportedly recognized Roan at a hotel and approached her breakfast table for a closer look.

According to the child’s stepfather, soccer player Jorginho Frello, Roan sent her security team to confront the young girl. Jude Law, 53, shares Ada with his former partner Catherine Harding.

The incident drew the attention of Eduardo Cavaliere, the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, who announced Roan’s ban from the upcoming Todo Mundo no Rio concert through a statement on the social media platform X.

“As long as I am responsible for our city, Chappell Roan will never perform at Todo Mundo no Rio!” Cavaliere proclaimed, referencing the festival scheduled for May. He added, “I doubt Shakira would do something like that! By the way, Jorginho, your daughter is already the organization’s guest of honor in May!” Cavaliere’s current term as mayor runs until 2028.

The Daily Mail has reached out to a rep for Roan about the mayor’s action.

Roan hit back against Frello’s narrative, which he’d shared on social media, with a video apology posted to Instagram Stories on Saturday.

She said the security guard who approached Frello’s family was ‘not my personal security.’

The singer clarified: ‘I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. They did not come up to me. They weren’t doing anything.

‘It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions.’

Since her rise to stardom in 2024, Roan has been outspoken about the pitfalls of fame, publicly rejecting the idea that she should accept unwanted attention.

She has had a sometimes contentious relationship with her fans, with the artist previously calling out behavior that she considered ‘creepy’ and ‘invasive’ in social media posts.

But she said in Saturday’s post, ‘I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children. That is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something, that you would do something. If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.’

In August 2024 Roan posted a video to TikTok in which she said, ‘I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous.

‘It’s weird how people think that you know a person because you see them online and you listen to the art they make…I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior, okay?’

She followed that up with a lengthy post to Instagram, saying, ‘I want to be an artist for a very long time. I’ve been in too many nonconsensual physical and social interactions and I just need to lay it out and remind you, women don’t owe you s**t.’

Roan continued: ‘When I’m on stage, when I’m performing, when I’m in drag, when I’m at a work event, when I’m doing press…I am at work. Any other circumstance, I am not in work mode. I am clocked out.’

She added, ‘If you’re still asking, “Well, if you didn’t want this to happen, then why did you choose a career where you knew you wouldn’t be comfortable with the outcome of success?” – understand this: I embrace the success of the project, the love I feel, and the gratitude I have. What I do not accept are creepy people, being touched, and being followed.’

The rising entertainer has earned a reputation for being a complainer, with fans suggesting she change her name to ‘Chappell Moan.’

Israel Targets Infrastructure in Lebanon, Sparking Concerns Over Significant Civilian Impact

0

In brief

  • An Israeli strike has pulverised one of the main routes linking southern and central Lebanon.
  • Israel has ordered its military to destroy all Litani River crossings and step up the demolition of homes in Lebanon.
  • International law generally prohibits militaries from attacking civilian infrastructure.

Israel has intensified its military actions in Lebanon, targeting a critical bridge that connects southern Lebanon to the rest of the country. This comes after military orders were issued to eliminate all crossings over the Litani River and increase the demolition of homes near the southern border.

The destruction of infrastructure and residential buildings on Sunday represents a major escalation in Israel’s military operations in Lebanon. The region was thrust into conflict on March 2, after the militant group Hezbollah launched attacks on Israeli soil.

While international law typically forbids attacking civilian infrastructure, the United Nations human rights chief has condemned Israel’s actions in Lebanon, particularly criticizing the widespread evacuation orders it has issued.

Sunday’s offensive destroyed a key crossing on Lebanon’s coastal highway, which was an essential route connecting the southern and central parts of the country, cutting through agricultural areas.

Earlier that day, an Israeli military spokesperson announced the army’s intention to strike the bridge, following through on that warning.

Israel’s strikes on Lebanon have killed more than 1,000 people, including nearly 120 children, 80 women and 40 medical personnel, according to Lebanon’s health ministry. Lebanese authorities do not otherwise distinguish between civilians and militants.

Earlier, an Israeli was killed in his car near the border with Lebanon after what the military described as a “launch” from Lebanese territory. It was the first Israeli civilian death linked to fire from Lebanon in the current war. Two Israeli soldiers have also been killed in fighting in southern Lebanon.

Israeli defence minister Israel Katz said on Sunday that the military had been ordered to destroy all bridges over the Litani River used for “terrorist activity,” to prevent ‌Hezbollah militants and weapons from moving south.

The Israeli military had already destroyed three bridges in southern Lebanon in the last 10 days.

Katz also said the military was ordered to accelerate the demolition of Lebanese homes in “frontline villages” to neutralise threats to Israeli ‌communities.

He described the approach as similar to the model used in Beit Hanoun and Rafah in Gaza, where the military created buffer zones by clearing and demolishing buildings near the border.

Ramzi Kaiss, Lebanon researcher at Human Rights Watch, said that international law requires armed actors to take into account the civilian harm caused by strikes on infrastructure like bridges, even if the targets were being used for military purposes.

“If all these bridges are struck, and the region that is south of the Litani becomes isolated from the rest of the country, then the civilian harm is going to be so immense that you have a humanitarian catastrophe as people still living in the south won’t be able to access food, medicine and other basic needs,” ‌Kaiss said.

Destroying homes in southern Lebanon wholesale would amount to wanton destruction, which is a war crime, he added.

The Israeli military says its troops are carrying out what it describes as ground manoeuvres and targeted raids on Hezbollah militants and weapons stores in southern Lebanon. Israeli officials say the air and ground campaigns are aimed at protecting residents in northern Israel near the Lebanese border from Hezbollah attacks.

Obama Criticized for Commending Late ‘Russiagate’ Investigator Mueller

0

The digital landscape was set ablaze following former President Barack Obama’s tribute to Robert Mueller, the former FBI Director, who passed away on Friday night at the age of 81. Obama’s message, lauding Mueller’s steadfast dedication to the rule of law, resonated widely across social media, stirring both admiration and controversy.

Mueller, a pivotal figure in contemporary American politics, was the special counsel charged with probing claims of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, purportedly to aid then-candidate Donald Trump. This investigation remains a contentious issue, with the Trump administration branding it as part of a “treasonous conspiracy” allegedly orchestrated by the Obama administration to undermine Trump’s presidency.

In his message shared on X, Obama praised Mueller as “one of the finest directors in the history of the FBI.” He credited Mueller with transforming the bureau in the aftermath of 9/11 and highlighted his role in saving countless lives. Obama’s words underscored the profound respect Mueller commanded due to his unwavering commitment to the principles of justice and democracy.

The former president extended heartfelt condolences from both himself and Michelle Obama to Mueller’s family and all those who admired him. This public acknowledgment from Obama served as a testament to Mueller’s legacy as a respected public servant.

“Michelle and I send our condolences to Bob’s family, and everyone who knew and admired him.”

Richard Grenell, a staunch Trump ally and one of the president’s special envoys, was aghast that Obama would highlight Mueller’s obligation to “the rule of law.”

“YOU got away with manipulating US intelligence to try and take out a political enemy because of Mueller,” Grenell argued on X. “He protected you as you attacked the rule of law.

“Shameful. You are a total fraud.”

Last year, the Trump administration released a trove of documents showing efforts by Obama national security officials to bury certain “Russiagate” intelligence in the final weeks of the Obama administration — while whipping up an alternative assessment of the supposed “boldest yet” Russian influence campaign on the American electorate.

Mueller’s probe only focused on the latter.

“Obama set the operation in motion against the Trump campaign in 2016,” former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos wrote on X in response to the ex-president’s post.

“It was the only time in American history a president attempted to derail the smooth transition of power,” Papadopoulos said. “Mueller’s job was to cover it up and attempt a coup against the Trump administration.

“They both were exposed in a spectacular fashion.”

Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in 2017 about meetings with Russian intermediaries and was later pardoned by Trump.

Conservative commentator Steve Guest argued that Mueller “was the tip of the spear for [Obama’s] weaponization of the DOJ.

“Spare us,” Guest said in response to Obama’s fawning post.

Conservative writer Mark Hemingway described Obama’s post as a “bizarre hagiography” to Mueller.

“There’s no need to immediately speak ill of the dead, but this bizarre hagiography to a man that ruined many lives through derangement and incompetence isn’t needed either,” Hemingway wrote on X.

Trump faced criticism of his own Saturday for a post celebrating Mueller’s death.

“Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president wrote on Truth Social shortly after Mueller’s death was announced by his family.

Chappell Roan Defends Jude Law’s Daughter Amid Jorginho Frello’s Security Guard Allegations

0

RIO DE JANEIRO — Grammy-winning singer Chappell Roan has addressed allegations made by Brazilian-Italian football star Jorginho regarding an incident involving his stepdaughter. The controversy arose after the young girl reportedly recognized the singer.

Jorginho Frello, commonly known as Jorginho and a player for Flamengo, claimed that his wife and her 11-year-old daughter were at the same hotel in Sao Paulo as Roan. The singer was visiting Brazil for the Lollapalooza music festival when the incident took place.

In a detailed Instagram post shared on Saturday in both Portuguese and English, Jorginho recounted the event. He explained that during breakfast, his stepdaughter spotted the artist and was simply excited to confirm her identity. The child, he noted, is the daughter of his wife, Catherine Harding, and British actor Jude Law.

According to Jorginho, the girl remained quiet and did not make any requests. However, a security guard allegedly approached their table and addressed his family “in an extremely aggressive manner,” speaking to both his wife and stepdaughter.

Following the incident, Jorginho criticized Roan, suggesting that such behavior did not merit the admiration of her fans.

Roan addressed the incident on Sunday, also on Instagram. The singer said that the security guard was not her personal security and that she didn’t see a woman and a child.

“It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions,” Roan said. “I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do no hate children.”

Rio’s new mayor Eduardo Cavaliere weighed in on the controversy late on Saturday, saying that while he was mayor Roan would never perform on Copacabana Beach as Madonna and Lady Gaga have, and as Shakira will do in May.

“I doubt that Shakira would do that!” he said, adding that Jorginho’s daughter would be a guest of honor at the Colombian superstar’s upcoming free concert on Rio’s sprawling sands. Cavaliere replaced former Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes on Friday.

Roan, who is openly queer and taps into drag culture, was the sassy toast of the pop world in 2024 with tracks that include “Good Luck, Babe!” “Red Wine Supernova” and “Hot To Go!” from her 2023 album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.”

Roan nudged aside Sabrina Carpenter to win the Grammy for best new artist last February.

After the lengthy texts, Jorginho posted a story of his daughter’s excited reaction upon arriving at Carpenter’s show at Lollapalooza. “Everything is well with the girls, and thanks for the messages,” he said.

Jude Law’s Ex Reveals Adorable Photo of Their Daughter Following Chappell Roan Encounter

0

Jude Law’s former partner expressed her gratitude to Lewis Capaldi for his thoughtful gesture on Sunday after he took a photo with Law’s daughter. This came in the wake of a distressing encounter involving Chappell Roan, which reportedly left the young music fan in tears.

Jorginho, a former Chelsea and Arsenal player who is married to Catherine Harding, addressed the incident on Instagram. He claimed that his wife’s daughter with Jude Law, aged 11, was threatened by a bodyguard of the Pink Pony Club singer after spotting the celebrity at their hotel in Brazil.

Catherine shared a photo of her daughter, believed to be Ada Law, smiling alongside Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi. The picture was taken after his performance at Lollapalooza 2026 in São Paulo, where Chappell Roan was the headliner.

Lewis gave a thumbs up to the camera with Catherine also jumping in for a snap as she captioned the post: ‘Thanks for your kindness’.

Chappell Roan has since apologized, clarifying that she did not instruct any security personnel to approach Jude Law’s daughter.

Jorginho, the girl’s stepfather, publicly criticized the singer on social media for the actions of her security guard towards the child.

Chappell has now responded, saying in a video on her Instagram Story: ‘I’m gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard – who is not my personal security…

‘I didn’t even see. I didn’t even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me, no one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast at my hotel. I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. So the fact that a security guard who is…

‘I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not. They did not come up to me. I did not do anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe it as there’s no action been taken.

‘I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. I am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.

‘If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.’

It seemed that the ordeal had an impact on Cat’s daughter, as The Voice contestant later posted on Instagram they decided to skip Chappell’s show.

Cat shared on Instagram that she and her daughter decided to skip Chappell’s show and posted an excited video of her after seeing Sabrina Carpenter in concert at the festival the day before.

She captioned the post: ‘This was Ada’s reaction yesterday to arriving to watch @sabrinacarpenter.

‘Our daughter decided she didn’t want to go to the show tonight after how we were treated… so instead we had a girls day shopping and then out to dinner.

‘Thank you everyone for the kind messages, all is well!’

In a lengthy Instagram statement, Jorginho publicly criticised Chappell’s security for threatening Cat’s daughter after she saw the star while having breakfast at their hotel.

He wrote: ‘I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today.’

‘My wife (@catcavelli) is in Sao Paulo for @lollapaloozabr. This morning, my daughter woke up incredibly excited, she even made a sign because she was so happy to see an artist she really admires, or used to admire.’

He continued: ‘By coincidence, they’re staying at the same hotel as this artist. During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her.

‘And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything.

‘What happened next was completely disproportionate. A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter, saying that she shouldn’t allow my daughter to “disrespect” or “harass” other people.

‘Honestly, I don’t know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment. He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears. My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot.

‘I’ve lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are. What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone.

‘It’s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans. At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this. I sincerely hope this serves as a moment of reflection. No one should have to go through this, especially not a child.’

Jorginho concluded: ‘@chappellroan WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION.’

Representatives for Chappell Roan did not immediately respond to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.

Jorginho’s post quickly went viral, and internet users did not hesitate to offer their input on the contentious altercation.

The story even caught the attention of Rio Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere, who banned Roan from performing in the city.

‘I mean that as long as I’m in charge of our city – this young lady @ChappelRoan will never perform at Todo Mundo no Rio! I doubt that Shakira would do that! By the way, @FrelloJorginho your little one is already the guest of honor from the organization in May!’ Cavaliere wrote in a translated post from Portuguese.

The mayor then added that Ada would be invited as a special guest to the upcoming Todo Mundo no Rio, which is a series of huge international shows. Shakira is set to headline this year.

Roan has had an occasionally contentious relationship with her fans, with the artist previously calling out behavior that she considered ‘creepy’ and ‘invasive’ in previous social media posts.

In August 2024, around the time of her sudden rise in popularity, Roan posted a video to TikTok where she said, ‘I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous.

‘It’s weird how people think that you know a person because you see them online and you listen to the art they make … I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior, okay?’

She added, ‘If you’re still asking, ‘Well, if you didn’t want this to happen, then why did you choose a career where you knew you wouldn’t be comfortable with the outcome of success?’ – understand this: I embrace the success of the project, the love I feel, and the gratitude I have. What I do not accept are creepy people, being touched, and being followed.’

Jorginho and Harding married last year after four years of dating. In 2023, the departing Arsenal footballer got down on one knee for the singer, surrounded by red roses and candles, while being serenaded by a violinist.

The pair also starred together on fly-on-the-wall series Married To The Game, which premiered in February 2024, and follows the partners of some of the best Premier League footballers, shedding light on their lives beyond the pitch.

Catherine has previously spoken about the challenges of having a blended family, admitting it is difficult when different households have different rules for their children.

Catherine was 23 when she dated Jude, then 41, who was filming on location in the Czech Republic as he grew close to the aspiring musician.

He and his now wife Phillipa Coan also have two children – born in 2020 and 2023.

Chappell was previously blasted by Boy George over her self imposed boundaries with fans, as he insisted the singer should ‘own your fame and cheer up.’

The Culture Club frontman was responding to a viral video which shows Chappell filming herself as she confronts a group of fans who had allegedly been following her around Paris.

The video, filmed by an onlooker, shows Chappell telling her camera that she feels ‘disregarded as a human’.

‘I’m just trying to go to dinner, and I’ve asked these people several times to get away from me,’ she says. Chappell then focuses on one fan who continues to ask for an autograph.

The musician says: ‘This person I’ve asked several times to go away, and they will not… They’re hiding their face, because they’re ashamed.’

Boy George offered Chappell some advice, saying she should embrace the attention while she can as fame fades, insisting it’s all part of the package when you become a pop star.

Writing on X the Karma Chameleon hitmaker said: ‘It’s probably not helpful but I have been doing this fame thing for a while and you learn slowly and painfully that you don’t get a free pass once you turn yourself into a bird of paradise.’

‘I watched @ChappellRoan filming the paps in Paris and I laughed because I have kicked off at them many times. The trick is to own your fame.’

‘Yes, it’s annoying at times but so is being ignored and told your a ‘has-been’. Life is always now and I think Chappell looks great but cheer up girl.’

‘The world is at your feet stop kicking it! It takes so much more time to say no to a picture or a signature. Boundaries are boring. Break them with the magic of kindness!’

Some X users were quick to defend Chappell though with one replying to the post: ‘Why is everyone so eager to tell women to just take unwanted attention.’

In 2024 the Good Luck Babe! hitmaker slammed fans for ‘harassing’ her and ‘stalking’ behavior and said she doesn’t ‘give a f***’ if that makes her ‘selfish’.

She discussed dealing with attention on an episode of The Comment Section podcast and said at the time she had ‘pumped the brakes’ on fame.

‘People have started to be freaks, like, [they] follow me and know where my parents live, and where my sister works,’ she told host Drew Afualo. ‘All this weird s***.’

Chappell explained that she had made a promise to herself that she would stop making music if fans gave her ‘stalker vibes’ or made her family feel as if they were in any ‘danger.’

Chappell later stood by her stance on Instagram. In a lengthy statement, she wrote, ‘I’m not afraid of the consequences for demanding respect.’

The singer added, ‘This isn’t a new situation. Why is a girl expressing her fears and boundaries so infuriating?’

‘For the past 10 years I’ve been going non-stop to build my project and it’s come to the point that I need to draw lines and set boundaries.’

‘I don’t agree with the notion that I owe a mutual exchange of energy, time, or attention to people I do not know, do not trust, or who creep me out – just because they’re expressing admiration.’

The likes of Miley Cyrus have publicly defended Chappell. Miley revealed in 2024 that she had reached out to the rising star to offer support, and explained: ‘I wish people would not give her a hard time.’

‘It’s probably really hard coming into this business with phones and Instagram. That wasn’t always a part of my life, and I’m not a part of it now.’

Trump Administration Sues Harvard: Allegations of Inadequate Protection for Jewish Students

On Friday, the Trump administration initiated legal action against Harvard University, accusing it of neglecting the safety of Jewish students amid the tensions that have simmered since the onset of the Israel-Gaza War over two years ago.

“Since October 7th, 2023, far too many educational institutions have become breeding grounds for anti-Semitism, with Harvard being no exception,” stated Attorney General Pamela Bondi in a Justice Department release. “This lawsuit highlights the Trump Administration’s firm stance on holding educational institutions accountable and striving to eliminate discriminatory practices that jeopardize student welfare.”

The legal complaint, brought before the Federal District Court in Boston, charges Harvard with fostering a “hostile educational environment” where Jewish and Israeli students have faced physical assaults, harassment, and intimidation. According to the filing, safety concerns are so pronounced that some students have resorted to wearing baseball caps to discreetly cover their yarmulkes—a traditional cap with deep religious significance, predominantly worn by men.

This lawsuit marks another chapter in the ongoing friction between the Trump administration and Harvard. Previously, the university took legal action against the administration after federal funding crucial for its research was blocked. The court ruled in Harvard’s favor in that case.

The recent filing accuses the university of permitting protestors to impede access to classrooms and other educational facilities, raising further concerns about campus safety and student rights.

“Harvard’s response to this: do nothing,” the lawsuit said. “Its faculty and leadership turned a blind eye to antisemitism and discrimination against Jews and Israelis.”

The lawsuit pointed to Harvard’s pro-Palestinian encampment which the lawsuit alleges the university allowed to last 20 days, with professors canceling or excusing students from class to join the “illicit demonstrations.”

Friday’s lawsuit also alleged that the university “rewarded” demonstrations, noting one instance in November 2023 in which faculty members brought burritos and candy to students who were students occupying a university building.

Some of the evidence cited in the lawsuit has previously been disputed by federal courts, including allegations from a student who said he was assaulted during a 2023 protest.

The Trump administration said Harvard has violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which prohibits discrimination against race or national origin in federally funded programs or activities.

The administration is asking the court to declare that Harvard is in material breach of Title IV, which could allow the federal government halt existing grants. The lawsuit requested that any grant payments made to Harvard during the time of alleged non-compliance be returned.

It also asked for a government-approved independent monitor to oversee compliance with the legislation.

“Harvard has taken substantive, proactive steps to address the root causes of antisemitism and actively enforces anti-harassment and anti-discrimination rules and policies on campus,” a Harvard spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill responding to the lawsuit. “… Harvard’s efforts demonstrate the very opposite of deliberate indifference.”

“Harvard cares deeply about members of our Jewish and Israeli community and remains committed to ensuring they are embraced, respected, and can thrive on our campus,” the Harvard spokesperson said in the statement.

“We will continue to prioritize this important work and will defend the University against this lawsuit, which represents yet another pretextual and retaliatory action by the administration for refusing to turn over control of Harvard to the federal government,” the spokesperson added.
