Jonnie Irwin has disclosed that he was recently admitted to the hospital and is currently there.
The 49-year-old A Place In The Sun host was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020 and is now valiantly fighting terminal cancer. Since then, it has advanced to his brain.
Jonnie provided a health update on Instagram on Wednesday, noting that his physicians were keeping an eye on adjustments to the medicine he was taking to assist manage his discomfort.
The host has been receiving brain therapy, which he recently called “brutal.”
Jonnie expressed his hope that he will be discharged from the hospital in time for his engagement at A Place In The Sun Live at Kensington Olympia on Sunday.
Jonnie provided a health update on Instagram on Wednesday by revealing physicians were keeping an eye on changes in his medicine to assist him manage his pain.
He stated: “This week I was in the hospital being monitored for a change in my pain management regimen.
‘Hoping to leave in time to attend this weekend’s @aplaceinthesunofficial LIVE event at @olympialondon in Kensington on Sunday. Hopefully, you’ll be there.
Jasmine Harman and Laura Hamilton from A Place In The Sun will also be present.
Fans prayed for the presenter and expressed hope that he would be able to attend the event in the comment section of the post.

In an open conversation with AIG life on the OneChat podcast, Jonnie stated: “The program is to try and remain positive.” I find that somewhat putting my head in the sand to be positive.
Jess and I rarely discuss it, despite the fact that we have experienced several near-death experiences. at least twice.
Apart from those occasions, we haven’t really discussed it.In terms of money, we’re gradually setting up things, transferring account information, and placing things in her name, but staying optimistic is crucial. I accomplish it by keeping my mouth shut about it.
As he described the “brutal” day he walked home to tell his wife, “I’m not going to be here anymore,” Jonnie broke down in tears during the interview.
The television host was in Italy filming A Place in the Sun when he started to see “weird gold spots” while driving.
He was traveling with a crew member who became concerned and immediately drove him to the hospital, where he was informed that he had nodules all over his brain.
Jonnie immediately boarded a trip for the UK, where he visited a hospital.
“Within a few hours, I learned I had cancer,” he claimed.”Right” was my response as well.
My close buddy Rahul was sitting next to me when they informed me that I had six months to live and that I had terminal cancer a little time after.

The father of three tried to understand the news and the terrifying idea of telling Jessica as he wandered home in a haze.
Rafa and Cormac, their now two-year-old twins, were only born two months earlier by Jessica. Rex, who is four, is also a child of the couple.
Jonnie sobbed, “I didn’t think I was shakable like that.”
I was quite shaken. The toughest thing I’ve ever had to do was tell my wife when I had to go home.
How do you tell a mother who gave birth to twins just two months ago? How do you inform them that you won’t be there any longer?
I recall it as if it were yesterday. Since receiving brain therapy, I have lost all recollection, yet the horrific experience still nags at me.
All I can recall doing was holding her and apologizing, and I still feel bad.
After receiving negative test results for weeks, Jonnie was handed a two- to three-year lifeline when physicians discovered a mutation in his tumour.
The phrase “mutation” is typically alarming, but in this case it was the best possible news, he added.
‘That mutation meant they had a medicine that could target some fault in the tumour and that could buy me an additional two or three years,’ the patient said.
“I recall pulling away and just breaking down in tears.” I hadn’t received any good news in weeks, so that gave me a sense of relief.
“This wonder medication, Osimertinib, will give me two to three years.”
‘No,’ I said. Consequently, the lesions have expanded once more after six months.
After receiving his diagnosis, the two to three years his physicians had predicted for him “suddenly evaporated,” and six months later, Jonnie was undergoing brain therapy, which he characterized as “brutal.”
He said, “You lose all your barnet, your memory, and your patience.”
“I have a very short fuse; it hasn’t made me a better person, that much is clear.”

Every day is difficult, but I try to be as optimistic as I can. I’m determined to do just that, even if it means sticking my head in the sand.
Jonnie also explained the rationale behind his two-year concealment of his cancer diagnosis.
The only reason I kept it a secret, he claimed, was because I needed to work to support my family and pay the bills.
And the moment you reveal you have cancer, everyone immediately writes you off.
I was forced to keep it a secret. It was really challenging to maintain my façade while living under such a large cloud.
For the first 1.5 years, I was able to work. Unfortunately, one of the companies refused to renew my contract because they said they couldn’t provide insurance. My income was severely damaged as a result.
I had the impression that I had been abandoned. Within a week, they had hired new employees, and I could then see someone else doing my job.
Jonnie claimed that he made the decision to talk about his terminal prognosis while dodging camera flashes and taking pictures with followers.
‘The day came when I decided I’m going to tell the world, and I just thought as well I might earn some money for the family,’ he said.
It has lifted a tremendous burden from my shoulders. I began living anew on the day I declared publicly that I have terminal cancer. I reverted to my former self, Jonnie Irwin.
“I feel actually alive.”
Jonnie claimed he had changed his diet and made sure he got adequate sleep at night among other aspects of his lifestyle.
But after his health saw a “massive downturn” a few months back, he quit working out.
Up until three months ago, he had been frequently exercising, but then his health had suddenly declined.
‘I used to be able to do 40 press-ups in the morning, but now I can’t do one. I simply stopped because it made me realize that I can’t do it.
Jonnie has now bought some gym equipment in the hope of getting back to what he loves.
He also plans on seeking help from a therapist.
Jonnie said: ‘I’ve probably only cried five times. I need to speak to someone and open Pandora’s box.’
Jonnie Irwin was born in 1973 and raised in Bitteswell, Leicestershire. Prior to becoming an estate agent, he attended Lutterworth Grammar School and Community College.
Irwin and co-presenter Jasmine Harman were chosen from among hundreds of candidates in 2004 to host the Channel 4 program A Place In The Sun – Home Or Away. The real estate program became an unexpected smash and was syndicated extensively. Additionally, Irwin frequently hosts the BBC programs Escape To The Country and To Buy Or Not To Buy.
Irwin’s own program, Dream Lives for Sale, which he assisted people in leaving their homes in the UK in order to purchase their dream businesses, was broadcast on Sky 1 in January 2011.
Later that year, he started a new series The Renovation Game which aired on weekday mornings on Channel 4.
In addition to his work as a presenter, Judicare, which bills itself as a “specialist law firm providing clients with legal advice on all matters related to overseas property,” also employs him as a commercial director.
Jessica Holmes and Irwin were wed in September 2016. Before relocating to Newcastle, the couple resided in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and have three sons.
Irwin received a diagnosis of terminal lung cancer on November 13. I don’t know how long I have, but I try to stay optimistic and my mentality is that I’m living with cancer, not dying with it,’ he said in an interview with Hello magazine.
