Christian Zionists Counter Anti-Israel Narratives from the Biblical Heartland

0

Last month marked the opening of a significant visitors center in Har Bracha, a town in the Samaria region of the West Bank. This achievement was spearheaded by The Israel Guys, a Christian Zionist organization devoted to supporting the development of the Land of Israel. Over the last 20 years, they have brought over 5,000 volunteers from across 35 countries to assist in this mission.

Joshua Waller, the CEO of The Israel Guys—formerly known as HaYovel—emphasizes their mission of showcasing the progress and vitality in the biblical heartland. This stands in contrast to widespread media depictions that often highlight conflict in the area.

“We live among the local communities, witness their daily lives, and share these realities globally,” Waller shared with News Media. “Our goal is to invite thousands of people from around the world to experience this for themselves.”

“Many support the Jewish community yet struggle with the term ‘settler violence,’ often influenced by propaganda. Jews living in Judea and Samaria are sometimes mischaracterized as a radical threat, but by visiting the center, you’ll discover a completely different narrative,” Waller stated.

“You will see that it is a fake narrative built by the international community … it is a straight-up war against the Jewish [people],” he added.

The organization’s volunteer programs include the Heartland Experience, a 10-day trip to Israel combining touring, volunteer work and interaction with local residents; the Grape Harvest trip, a two-week program held in late summer and early fall that focuses on helping farmers with the harvest; and the Men’s Pruning trip, a two-week program in early spring focused on pruning vineyards.

Other programs include Zion Ops, a four-week program for young adults ages 18 to 30, and Day Visits, which offer two-hour visits to Har Bracha.

In 2004, Tommy Waller, Joshua Waller’s father, traveled to Israel for the first time, where he met Nir Lavi, founder of Har Bracha Winery. Lavi shared his plan to fulfill the vision of the Prophet Jeremiah: “You shall again plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant and eat them as ordinary food” (Jeremiah 31:5).

Waller Sr. asked how he could help.

In 2007, after moving with his wife, Sherri, and their 11 children from Tennessee to Har Bracha, Waller Sr. established HaYovel, a U.S. nonprofit that provides Christian volunteers with an opportunity to work the land alongside Israeli farmers.

In 2013, the organization sought to counter anti-Israel rhetoric by launching The Joshua & Caleb Report TV show, its first dedicated pro-Israel media project, which in 2018 transitioned into a weekly podcast. Five years ago, the organization rebranded as The Israel Guys and stepped up its advocacy efforts.

The Israel Guys currently counts more than 20 team members and, since its founding, has helped develop some 120 farms. Volunteers who come to Judea and Samaria work alongside local farmers, planting trees, erecting fences, harvesting crops and assisting with infrastructure projects.

In the aftermath of the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre of 1,200 Israelis, The Israel Guys launched Operation Ittai and raised $3.85 million to provide tactical supplies to communities in the area and strengthen their defenses against possible terrorist attacks.

The group went viral at the time after bringing American cowboys to Israel to help farmers whose workers had been called up as reservists.

Addressing media coverage of recent incidents involving Christians in Israel, Waller said the narrative that they are no longer welcome in the country is false.

“People put a lot of money into trying to make it seem as though Christians would somehow be better off living in Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Jordan or other Arab countries surrounding Israel. Factually, that is completely wrong,” he told News Media.

“I know Christians living in those places, and I even know Christians living in areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority, and they suffer immensely. The fact is that Israel is the safest place for Christians in the entire Middle East. It is the only place where the Christian population is growing,” he added.

Volunteers, Waller explained, have come from a wide range of Christian denominations, including Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals, Mormons, Amish and Mennonites.

He emphasized that Israel is a partner for peace and urged nations to align themselves with biblical values, which he said could pave the way for “some incredible days ahead.”

If antisemitism leads to efforts to destroy Israel, he added, “that’s not an option,” saying Israel would have to fight that war while The Israel Guys would continue to “help on the information side.”

“The Bible says that this land that was desolate will become like the Garden of Eden. We are literally seeing it happen. It’s beautiful to see volunteers participate in the fulfillment of that prophecy and witness the ancient words of the Bible come back to life,” Waller said.

Rafael Devers Smashes Homer in Boston Comeback Amid Mixed Fan Reactions

0

Fans at Fenway Park experienced a sense of déjà vu, something that is all too familiar in the world of baseball.

Rafael Devers made a notable return to Boston, marking his first game back as a rival player. He hit a remarkable 26th home run of the season for the Giants, although they fell to the Red Sox, 6-4, on Friday night.

Devers, who spent nine solid seasons at Fenway Park before being traded to the Giants by the Red Sox in June 2025, was back in a setting he once called home.

As Devers stepped up to bat in the top of the first inning, the Fenway crowd offered a mixed but mostly chilly reception, with boos drowning out applause, despite his cheerful demeanor.

Devers’ pivotal moment unfolded during his second appearance at the plate in the fourth inning, as he made a significant impact for his team.

The Giants entered the inning trailing 5-1 after the Red Sox scored five runs against Logan Webb in the bottom of the third.

With two outs in the fourth, Drew Gilbert hit a two-run home run off Red Sox starter Sonny Gray to cut the deficit to 5-3.

Devers came to the plate next and took Gray dead center, taking a four-seam fastball yard to bring the Giants within a run of his old team, cutting the lead 5-4.

It was Devers’ 26th home run of the season and his first at Fenway Park since leaving the Red Sox.

Devers’ homer continued a season in which he has remained the Giants’ primary power hitter despite the team’s overall struggles, as they arrived in Boston at 52-75, long out of the National League’s otherwise contentious playoff chase.

Entering Friday, the 29-year-old had played in all 127 of the Giants’ games and was hitting .244 with a .320 on-base percentage and .470 slugging percentage.

He had 117 hits, including 31 doubles and 25 home runs, along with 69 RBIs and 67 runs scored.

Devers’ .789 OPS is his lowest since 2018 — his first full MLB season — but he’s still top three among Giants hitters in WAR for the fourth-place NL West club.

The Red Sox originally signed Devers as an international free agent in 2013.

He debuted in 2017 and became one of the franchise’s most productive hitters, helping the team win the 2018 World Series, where he hit .294 in the postseason overall.

His relationship with the organization worsened during the 2025 season following disagreements over his defensive role, and Boston eventually traded him to the Giants.

Meghan and Harry’s U.K. Return: PR Expert Warns Against Rushing to Capitalize

In a surprising turn of events, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they will be leaving California to return to the United Kingdom. This decision, revealed earlier this week, marks a significant shift six years after their headline-grabbing departure from the U.K. and their official duties as senior royals. Concerns surrounding Meghan’s mental health and security were central to their decision to initially leave Britain.

Back then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to forge a path away from royal obligations, aiming to carve out an independent life. They ventured into lucrative partnerships with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify, launched charity initiatives, and shared their story in a high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan further pursued entrepreneurship with her lifestyle brand As Ever, while Harry published his memoir, Spare, which became a bestseller. Despite these ventures, their deals with Netflix and Spotify fell short of expectations.

The couple is now preparing for a homecoming to the U.K., where their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are set to start school this fall. The reasons behind this unexpected move remain speculative. Some suggest that King Charles’ health may be a factor, prompting Harry’s desire to be nearer to his father during this time. Others speculate financial challenges may have influenced their decision to return.

Regardless of their reasons, this relocation opens the door for potential reputation management, according to Olivia Bennett, Senior Digital PR Director at the agency Go Up. However, achieving this successfully depends heavily on their strategic actions moving forward.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need to give people ‘new material’ if they want to change ‘the old story’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRA0C6QxuGA[/embed>

“The only way to change the perception is to give people enough new material that, over time, it starts to outweigh the old story,” Bennett said. “The move could help with that. If they’re here regularly, doing ordinary things and building a life rather than constantly announcing what they’re doing, they could gradually become less of a spectacle. For me, that’s much more powerful than a big relaunch.”

In Meghan’s case, she has the chance to “establish herself in Britain as a successful businesswoman rather than simply as a former member of the royal family,” Bennett added. If she correctly repositions herself, she could have another lucrative market for her As Ever brand. (The Suits star is also rumored to be taking on her first major acting role in a U.K.-based Netflix project.) Meanwhile, Harry can focus on his charities and philanthropic efforts to give them “more relevance with UK audiences and institutions.” He’ll also likely be concentrating his energies on the upcoming 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

The big mistake the Sussexes must avoid in their U.K. return

Where the Sussexes could go wrong is in leaning too hard into a major publicity campaign. A try-hard approach could backfire with a skeptical public.

“I’d let the first few months be quite routine: school, family, existing work, occasional appearances. Boring can actually be useful because it normalises them,” Bennett said. Once they stop making headlines with their every move, they’ll have freedom to pursue their various projects with less scrutiny.

“If I were advising them, I’d build familiarity first and monetise that attention second,” she explained. “The opportunity is there, but trying to cash in too quickly could make the whole thing look calculated.”

Only time will tell if people buy the new version of Harry and Meghan, she added.

“I wouldn’t judge this by how many positive headlines they get in the first six months. I’d look at whether the nature of the headlines changes,” she said. “Are people still talking about Oprah, the memoir and the family fallout every time Harry and Meghan appear? Or are journalists eventually writing about what they’re actually doing now? If the latter happens, that’s the real rebrand.”

Tragic Car Crash Claims Young Mother-of-Four After Fatal Decisions

0

In a tragic sequence of events, a beloved mother of four from Idaho met an untimely death following a devastating car crash, resulting from two critical mistakes, as confirmed by police authorities.

The incident claimed the life of 30-year-old Courtney Cramer, who lost her life after a collision involving two vehicles at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The tragic crash occurred at the intersection of N 3900 E and County Line Road in Idaho Falls.

Residing in Rigby, Cramer was heading north on North 3900 East when she failed to come to a stop at a stop sign, according to the Idaho State Police, who released a statement on Wednesday.

Subsequently, her vehicle was hit by a white 2026 Ford F250 pick-up truck, driven by a 59-year-old man, as the officials reported.

The eastbound pick-up collided with the driver’s side of Cramer’s silver 2018 Honda Odyssey, sealing the unfortunate fate of this young mother.

Cramer was not wearing a seatbelt when the collision happened, while the male driver, whose identity was not disclosed, was.

She was rushed to a local hospital after the violent crash, which left both cars totaled and on the side of the road.

Cramer died in the hospital from injuries sustained in the accident, according to the Bonneville County Coroner’s Office.

Cramer’s public social media said she had been born in Lehi, Utah, but lived in Rigby, a small city with a population of about 6,000.

The mom-of-four had posted about one of her daughters as recently as May 4, celebrating her baptism.

‘She looked like the little angel she is,’ Cramer wrote.

Cramer regularly uploaded cheery pictures of her children and idyllic family life.

In October, she posted that one of her daughters, who had experienced medical issues, had just turned one year old.

‘I will never be able to put into words how much I love her and how much she has brought to our family,’ Cramer wrote.

Cramer’s funeral has been scheduled for Saturday. A public obituary has not yet been released.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Idaho State Police, Cramer’s family and the Bonneville County Coroner for further comment.

Rebuild Core Strength in Bed: 5 Exercises for 65+

0

Think sit-ups are too taxing after reaching 65? Consider these 5 gentle exercises you can do in bed to maintain strong core muscles.

>

For those over 65, maintaining core strength boosts everyday activities, providing support when getting out of bed, standing with a straight posture, walking assuredly, or handling objects without feeling unstable through your torso. While sit-ups effectively target the front abdominal muscles, they can sometimes strain the neck, hips, or lower back.

Conducting a workout in bed offers a cushioned surface for gentle core exercises without it feeling like a full-fledged gym routine. In this comfortable setting, you can work on core control, stability, and mild rotational movements either to kick off your day or to recharge later. The familiar feel of the bed makes it an inviting spot to begin exercising.

For older adults, exercises should be chosen carefully to engage the core without demanding extensive range of motion. The objective is clear: foster strength through manageable, purposeful repetitions. These five moves provide varied roles for your midsection, ensuring the exercises are accessible and straightforward to perform.

Incorporate these simple bed exercises into your routine three to five times a week. Begin with one or two sets, and gradually increase your effort as you grow more comfortable with the movements.

Dead Bug Heel Taps

Dead bug heel taps are a solid first move. They make your abs work before the reps get complicated, but still work hard enough to get a result. Lower one heel at a time, and keep the pelvis steady on the bed to maintain stability. Controlling the movement helps the lower back feel more supported during other exercises and daily movement. Keep the tap small at first. If your back starts to arch, shorten the range and own the rep.

Muscles Trained: Abs, deep core, hip flexors.

How to Do It

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent.
  2. Lift your feet so your knees stack over your hips.
  3. Brace your core and keep your lower back steady against the bed.
  4. Lower one heel toward the mattress.
  5. Tap lightly, then bring the leg back up.
  6. Switch sides and continue alternating.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side.

Best Variations: Single-leg heel taps, smaller-range heel taps, slower heel taps.

Form Tip: Keep the tap small enough that your lower back stays steady.

6 Wall Exercises That Shrink Belly Overhang Faster Than Gym Classes After 60

Glute Bridge March

The bridge march quickly brings the hips into your core work. Once you lift one foot, your abs have to help keep your pelvis level while the glutes hold the bridge. It’s a practical way to build trunk strength from a position that feels less intimidating than the floor. Keep the march slow enough to feel the hips working evenly.

Muscles Trained: Glutes, hamstrings, abs, deep core.

How to Do It

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the bed.
  2. Place your arms by your sides.
  3. Press through your feet and lift your hips.
  4. Hold the bridge position.
  5. Lift one foot a few inches off the bed.
  6. Lower it, then switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 8 marches per side.

Best Variations: Glute bridge hold, bodyweight glute bridge, smaller bridge march.

Form Tip: Keep your hips level as each foot lifts.

Seated Knee Tuck

Seated knee tucks give your abs a clear challenge from the edge of the bed. Use your hands for light support, lean back slightly, and adjust the range based on how strong the rep feels. The exercise should feel active through the front of your midsection without turning into a fast leg swing. Smaller tucks work well when you keep them controlled.

Muscles Trained: Abs, hip flexors, deep core.

How to Do It

  1. Sit near the edge of the bed.
  2. Place your hands beside your hips for light support.
  3. Lean back slightly while keeping your chest lifted.
  4. Brace your core.
  5. Lift both knees toward your torso.
  6. Lower your feet with control and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps.

Best Variations: Single-leg knee tuck, smaller-range knee tuck, seated march.

Form Tip: Keep the movement controlled so you feel the work through your abs.

4 Standing Exercises That Improve Balance Better Than Walking After 60

Bent-Knee Windshield Wipers

Bent-knee windshield wipers train the core through gentle rotation. The knees move side to side while your shoulders stay relaxed on the bed. A small range is plenty, especially if your lower back tends to take over. Move slowly enough to bring the knees back to center with control.

Muscles Trained: Obliques, abs, deep core.

How to Do It

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent.
  2. Lift your feet so your knees stack over your hips.
  3. Extend your arms out to the sides for support.
  4. Lower both knees a few inches to one side.
  5. Bring your knees back to the center.
  6. Repeat on the other side.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 2 to 3 sets of 6 to 8 reps per side.

Best Variations: Smaller-range wipers, feet-down knee drops, slower bent-knee wipers.

Form Tip: Keep both shoulders relaxed against the bed as your knees move.

New York Grandmother Found Deceased Near Las Vegas Airport Following Cryptic Bitcoin Texts

0

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of a New York grandmother in Las Vegas has reached a tragic conclusion. Family members confirmed on Friday that the missing woman was found deceased.

Alisa Goods, a 63-year-old grandmother to five, was last seen departing a friend’s residence on August 8 near Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue. Her family subsequently reported her missing on August 10, as stated in a missing person report and confirmed by KLAS-TV.

On Thursday morning, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to an alarming call. The report indicated a “deceased woman” near a drainage ditch by Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid International Airport, as reported by KTNV.

Alisa Goods

The body was identified as Alisa Goods, confirming her death near the airport after she vanished during her Las Vegas trip.

Authorities found and identified Goods at the scene, sadly confirming her passing, as noted by the local news outlet. The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding her tragic death.

“Our hearts are broken. We were notified that my aunt was found—unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be,” Goods’ niece, Alana Calloway, said in a statement provided to the station.

“This is an unimaginable time,” the statement continued. “Words cannot describe the pain our family is experiencing right now. We just want to thank the public for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. We also want to thank the media for helping bring attention to this situation. This hurts so deeply. We are still trying to learn the details surrounding her death. We ask for continued prayers and privacy as we grieve.”

Police reviewed surveillance footage that appeared to show Goods “falling down an embankment, getting back up and then collapsing” on Aug. 8, the day she disappeared, with “no further movement observed after that,” according to KTNV.

Additional surveillance video from that day showed a woman believed to be Goods near the airport that afternoon, the station reported.

News Media has reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for additional information.

Goods had been staying with her longtime friend Roger John, who told KLAS-TV that she left his apartment around 12:45 p.m. Aug. 8 to take a bus to a nearby CVS to buy iron pills but never returned.

“Last I saw her, she was going down the stairs. And I said, ‘OK, see you later,’ And that’s the last time I saw her,” John told the station.

John said he was not immediately alarmed because Goods sometimes spent hours shopping. When she failed to return, however, he began calling and texting her before contacting her family.

“This is not like her to just go missing,” Calloway previously told the outlet. “She has a family that loves her, cares about her. We want her home and want her home safe and alive.”

The mystery surrounding Goods’ disappearance deepened when her family said they began receiving unusual text messages from her phone on Aug. 12, four days after she was last seen.

The sender allegedly asked for gas money and Bitcoin , requests that raised suspicions because Goods did not drive and did not have a car in Las Vegas, according to her family.

“I said, ‘What do you need gas for? The car?’ My aunt does not drive. There is no car,” Calloway told CBS News.

The family previously said the messages raised concerns that Goods may have been kidnapped. It was not immediately clear Friday who sent the messages.

Tragic Drone Strike in Ukraine Mall Causes 16 Fatalities and Injures 13, Including Children

0

Russia is escalating its air ‌war on Ukraine as the conflict between the two countries now heads to its 4-1/2-year mark.

In a devastating strike on Ukraine, at least 16 lives were lost and over 130 individuals sustained injuries when Russian drones targeted a shopping center, an incident President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denounced as a shocking “act of barbarism”.

The city of Kryvyi Rih, which carries special significance as Zelenskyy’s hometown, bore the brunt of this daytime assault, according to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha. Among the wounded are 22 children, underscoring the tragic impact on the civilian population.

Hanzha reported, “There are 29 people in serious condition, including five children,” offering a grim snapshot of the human toll while sharing a harrowing image of thick black smoke rising from the afflicted industrial structure.

Providing an update on Saturday morning, Hanzha revealed that nine individuals, among them two children, are currently considered missing. Rescuers remain engaged in sifting through the debris of the devastated shopping center in search for survivors.

In condemning the attack, Zelenskyy described it as “absolutely cynical and despicable,” emphasizing that a second drone strike was launched on the shopping center thirty minutes after the initial hit, a move he asserted was a deliberate attempt to harm emergency response teams.

“Attacks like these are nothing less than terrorist acts,” Zelenskky said on Telegram, urging ‌the world to hold Russia to account. “We will definitely respond.”

In a separate attack on Friday, at least four people, including three children, were killed and a woman was wounded after a Russian drone strike in Ukraine’s southern region of Mykolaiv, Ukrainian state media said on Telegram.

Russia is escalating its air ‌war on Ukraine as fighting on the battlefield grinds toward the 4-1/2-year mark. On Thursday, 17 people were killed in a Russian ballistic missile attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.

Ukraine has also stepped up its own attacks on Russia, targeting oil facilities and logistics infrastructure to try to undermine Moscow’s ability to wage war.

Jets Rookie David Bailey Shines with First Preseason Sack

0

PITTSBURGH — Onlookers at Friday night’s game witnessed an electrifying moment courtesy of David Bailey, echoing what the Jets have anticipated all summer.

Early in the game, during the Steelers’ second possession, Jets newcomer David Bailey demonstrated his prowess. He expertly slipped past Steelers tackle Broderick Jones and brought down quarterback Will Howard, causing an 11-yard loss on a crucial third down.

“To me, it felt incredible,” Bailey shared with The Post following the Jets’ 17-0 triumph over the Steelers in the preseason. “It was a huge weight off my shoulders. Knowing my fellow line players and the coverage did their roles impeccably made it possible for me to capitalize on the opportunity.”

This was the kind of impactful performance the Jets had been eagerly awaiting from Bailey, especially after his understated showing in the game against the Buccaneers during the team’s preseason debut.

Selected as the No. 2 overall draft pick in April, the former Texas Tech sensation Bailey has been meeting expectations throughout training camp. Known for unsettling his own team’s offensive line, he also left a mark during joint practices with Tampa Bay. With rising hopes surrounding him, Bailey demonstrated yet again on Friday why he is one to watch this season.

“It was good to see that,” Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said. “Obviously, we know what he can do as far as a pass rusher. I already see in my head that there’s a couple of things that he has to improve on that showed up in the game and he will.”

In all, Bailey played 12 snaps and had two quarterback pressures and the one sack. It continues a strong summer for Bailey.

Quarterback Will Howard looks to get up after getting sacked by David Bailey (31) during the first half of the Jets' 17-0 preseason win over the Steelers on Aug. 21, 2026 in Pittsburgh.

“I feel like camp has been pretty good,” Bailey said. “I’ve been trying to soak in everything while just trying to get better. It’s been a great experience.”

The Jets interception drought is not officially over but they at least showed promise of it ending sometime soon.

They came up with two interceptions of Steelers QB Will Howard on Friday night. Safety Andre Cisco secured the first pick, ending a Steelers drive at the Jets’ 14-yard line. CB Sam Womack picked off Howard just before halftime to give the Jets another one.

The Jets set an NFL record in 2025 with zero interceptions, an incredible mark. Jets defenders repeatedly have said that they are focused on ending that streak.

“We were celebrating for our guys,” cornerback Brandon Stephens said. “It was good to see. We went a whole year without seeing it. Just to get that feeling back of getting an interception, two of them, it was big time.”

The kicking competition continues.

Brian Hickerson has spoken out following reports that both he and his brother were present when Hayden Panettiere passed away.

WASHINGTON — On the heels of the tragic passing of actress Hayden Panettiere, her sometimes boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, has broken his silence. Through his lawyer, Hickerson released a statement one day after news emerged that the DEA is now involved in looking into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The statement, disseminated by the Ellis Hinton law firm to outlets such as TMZ, emphasized that the investigation into Panettiere’s passing remains active and must be allowed to progress unobstructed.

“Authorities have publicly noted there was no indication of foul play,” Hickerson stated. “To honor Hayden’s family and the ongoing investigation process, no further comments will be provided at this time.”

Hickerson’s comment follows information reported by NBC News that he and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were present at the location of her death, as confirmed by a police report.

Hayden Panettiere was found dead in a South Carolina apartment on Sunday, prompting shock from the Hollywood world at the 36-year-old’s death. Friday would have been her 37th birthday.

According to multiple outlets, including the New York Times and ABC News, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency has joined the investigation into her death.  Both outlets cited anonymous sources familiar with the situation.

It’s unclear exactly what role the DEA is playing in the investigation, or if their involvement indicates officials believe there was a crime involved in her death.

Panettiere, best known for starring roles in TV’s ‘Heroes” and “Nashville,” died on Sunday in Greenville, South Carolina. Emergency crews reported the actress had been found in cardiac arrest and was unresponsive before she was pronounced dead.

According to police, there were no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances in the actress’ death, adding that they were called to the apartment by an acquaintance of Panettiere, who called 911. It’s unknown if either of the Hickerson brothers was the 911 caller.

Actress detailed addiction and early drug use in memoir

In her autobiography “This is Me: A Reckoning,” released in May, Panettiere detailed her struggles with alcohol addiction and her early introduction to drugs. The actress recalls being fed a pill by one of her reps before an early red carpet event for “Heroes,” when she was 16. The rep called the unknown drug a “happy pill.”

She described that experience as a teen and her later decision to opt to take the drugs before high-profile events as “the gateway drug that ushered me toward the good of pharmaceuticals and the downfall of addiction.”

In 2020, Panettiere would spend eight months in treatment for alcohol addiction, according to her memoir. While Panettiere details her path to recovery from alcohol addiction in her book, she does not detail an extensive history of drug use outside of the pills given to her as a teen.

Ex showed police a ‘bag of medication’ Panettiere had been taking

Brian did not become visibly emotional until EMS declared Panettiere dead, the police report states. According to the report, Brian also showed police “a bag of medication” Panettiere had been taking.

In her memoir, Panettiere noted that she had used alcohol to cope with “Brian’s abuse” among other personal traumas and stressors. Panettiere wrote that she had to fight for her life after Hickerson pinned her to the ground, punching her repeatedly. After another attack, Panettiere said she didn’t leave the house for weeks because of how battered her face had been from Hickerson’s punches.

Panettiere wrote that she struggled with “holding Brian accountable,” saying that it wasn’t until she met another survivor of domestic abuse while in treatment that convinced her to cooperate fully with the police.

While a district attorney had dropped domestic abuse charges against Hickerson after he was first booked in 2019, Hickerson was eventually convicted for his attacks on Panettiere. In 2021, Hickerson was sentenced to 45 days in county jail and four years’ probation after pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend.

“I didn’t want to see Brian suffer for the rest of his life, but I knew, in every inch of my heart, that he needed a long sentence,” Panettiere wrote.
