Inside Look at Security Concerns Sparks Panic over Possible Threats to Trump’s Safety

0

In the wake of his clandestine departure from the NATO summit in Turkey, President Trump seemed unfazed by the newfound public attention detailing the extraordinary security measures employed by the Secret Service to ensure his safety.

Upon being questioned by reporters about potential dangers posed by Iranian missiles, he appeared to brush off any fears with nonchalance.

“I don’t worry about anything, to be honest. Whatever it is, you know my attitude? Whatever,” Trump stated, exuding his characteristic confidence.

Despite this public demeanor, sources revealed to the Daily Mail that the looming threat weighs on him as tensions with Iran persist and new threats emerge against his life.

First Lady Melania Trump reportedly shares a mounting concern for the President’s well-being, according to a source close to her. However, she remains assured that the Secret Service is adapting to these evolving threats, maintaining vigilance to protect him amid ongoing global tensions.

‘They want to take out the US leader, me,’ Trump said at the NATO summit prior to his departure from Turkey in July, citing intelligence reports he had reviewed that morning. ‘I’m on every single one of their lists.’

So far, Trump remarked, he had ‘been a little bit lucky’ but cautioned ‘that maybe doesn’t last very long, because that’s the way it goes,’ he said prior to leaving for the summit.

Meanwhile in Tehran, billboards with threats against the First Family have been spotted in recent days. One shows images of Melania, Barron and Ivanka Trump with their eyes edited shut and the word ‘KILLED’ labeled over them, while an AI-generated video highlighted the locations that Melania likes to shop at and how would-be assassins could target her.

Trump allies worry that the president is being ‘misled by the threat to his life’ posed by Iran.

The idea of the president leaving a NATO summit in a catering container was ’embarrassing,’ one source close to the White House told the Daily Mail.

The concern, another source noted, was that Iran is toying with Trump’s jumpy security team, knowing that they are extremely cautious.

Iran state media predictably used the report to mock the president’s ‘humiliation’ as a result of ‘fear of Iran’s military power’ and shared a meme of the president hiding in a food catering truck.

The details of Trump’s exit going public, one source worried, would make him less inclined to participate in the future. And reports that the CIA had low confidence in the intelligence detailing a threat to the president only confirmed suspicions from some officials that the threat was overblown.

‘Iran is really trying to assassinate the president in Turkey, a country that they have a relationship with?’ a separate source asked incredulously.

Sources told the Washington Post that the threats against the president’s life were ‘Israeli-derived’ rather than US-generated and said it was considered ‘low-confidence’ intelligence.

Trump’s military leadership was to blame, another source noted to the Daily Mail, suggesting that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine overreacted to the poorly sourced intelligence.

The Department of War did not respond to a Daily Mail request for comment.

However, a senior administration official strongly disagreed with criticism of the security plans in Turkey: ‘As the president has said, he has faced numerous threats on his life, including ones from Iran, and every measure is taken to ensure his safety. There is no such thing as “overreacting” when it comes to the Commander-in-Chief’s safety – that is a moronic take.’

Trump is normally more resistant to Secret Service orders for the sake of optics. He famously ordered agents to let him get his shoes and pause to raise his fist in defiance before exiting the stage after he was shot in the ear by a would-be assassin in Butler, Pennsylvania, in 2024.

He faced another attempted assassination at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, in September, two months before the election.

When he was evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner after a gunman tried to storm the event in April, Trump adamantly lobbied agents to return to the dinner and finish the event, before finally conceding to reschedule it.

But the ongoing war in Iran has him taking threats more seriously.

‘I go by Secret Service and the military. They wanted me to go in a different flight, a different plane, for safety,’ Trump told reporters Tuesday.

The frequent security concerns, one Washington insider noted, were shifting the conflict with Iran into more personal territory.

‘I got him before he got me,’ Trump boasted to ABC News after Ayatollah Khamenei was killed in February. ‘They tried twice. Well, I got him first.’

One source close to the White House noted that the president is more concerned about the increased threat to members of his family, particularly his 11 grandchildren.

Trump’s 19-year-old granddaughter Kai is leaving soon for the University of Miami to start her freshman year, and is set to bring her Secret Service detail with her. His 20-year-old son Barron, meanwhile, is nearby the White House attending New York University at its Washington, DC, campus – and is always surrounded by Secret Service protection.

Sources believe that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, left, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Generak Dan Caine, right, overreacted to the security threat in Turkey

The Secret Service revealed in July that they had investigated more than 10,000 threats to its protectees in the first half of this year, the head of the agency revealed.

And just this month, a man was caught with an illegal rifle and body armor while allegedly scouting Trump‘s Los Angeles golf club ahead of his visit there.

‘A potential tragedy was averted,’ said ATF Special Agent Kenneth R Cooper.

The president occasionally reminds Iran publicly that if anything happens to him, he has set up a fail-safe plan for revenge.

‘I’ve left instructions, if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,’ he told the New York Post in July.

The Daily Mail reached out to the White House for comment.

West Ham’s Revitalized Transfer Revolution: New Leadership Ignites Return to ‘Academy of Football’ Glory

0

Just an hour before West Ham kicked off their season, a buzz of speculation swirled among journalists inside the bustling London Stadium. Bets were being placed—who would be the first to voice discontent?

David Sullivan, the controversial former co-chair, was rumored to make an appearance, despite advice to stay away. How long would it take for West Ham supporters to vocalize their dissatisfaction? Thirty seconds? Five minutes? Perhaps when Portsmouth scored their first goal?

The fanbase, renowned for their relentless protests over the club’s management, had used every avenue—boycotts, banners, and black balloons. Yet, despite their efforts and warnings, the team now faced their first Championship season in 14 years, traveling to Burnley on Sunday. Even after Sullivan’s resignation amidst allegations of sexual misconduct, claims he refutes, his looming presence continued to cast a shadow.

However, the fans’ frustration seemed more directed at a first-half hydration break blaring with dance music, rather than the looming specter of an unwanted guest. It was clear they were intent on not letting an unwelcome presence sabotage their hopes for a fresh start.

While Sullivan may still own a significant share in the club, his grip has loosened; he no longer steers the ship nor inks the checks. A new chapter beckons for West Ham, with fresh hands at the helm.

West Ham still, incredibly, have Jarrod Bowen, who committed his future to the club despite their relegation to the Championship

He can watch, as he did last Saturday, and confide in those around him that the team needs more pace, another striker and a creative midfielder, but he’s not in a position anymore to do much about it, even if his son is still angling to get some young lads on trial. Karren Brady isn’t there anymore either. ‘No more BS’ was the message on the red cards fans brandished last season, in a nod to Brady and Sullivan. They go into the season having got their wish.

And they still, incredibly, have Jarrod Bowen. Over the past three Premier League seasons, only Erling Haaland, Mo Salah, Ollie Watkins, Cole Palmer and Bruno Fernandes scored more goals than Bowen. Now, he’s playing in the Championship. Good luck, everyone.

New signing Manor Solomon, signed for £10million from Tottenham, said Bowen’s decision to stay helped convince him to make the move to east London.

‘I thought, like everyone else, that Jarrod would leave this summer and go to the Premier League, even to one of the top teams, but he decided to stay,’ said Solomon. ‘It was one of the key reasons why I decided to sign for West Ham.’

Club insiders talk of a fresh start and, at long last, finding a sense of normality. Not many football clubs are all that normal deep down but few have been less able to claim it in recent years than West Ham. Nils Koppen, the new head of recruitment, has not been at the club long but is already trying to put data-led systems in place to ensure smooth running of the transfer operation.

It’s one that’s bagged Brighton full back Joel Veltman on a free transfer, Solomon from Tottenham, and is on the verge of signing £22million Celtic midfielder Arne Engels.

‘Patient is a good word but it is, more than anything, about trying to make it right,’ explained boss Nuno Espirito Santo. ‘All the deals we want to make, the player has to come with a purpose, with a clear mindset of what we expect. We don’t have too much time but the priority is to make it right.’

It’s not always been that way.

‘Anyone who can put those processes in place will revolutionise West Ham,’ one insider told Daily Mail Sport.

This is a club that’s been so remarkably short of them. Koppen is the fourth recruitment boss in just 18 months after Tim Steidten, Kyle Macaulay and Max Hahn, so is it any wonder that the Hammers are still having to right the many, many wrongs of previous transfer windows.

Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville have been sold for the best part of £150million but there’s other deadwood that needs shifting. Nuno wants rid of Niclas Fullkrug and Jean-Clair Todibo. Brentford have enquired about full back El Hadji Malick Diouf, who only signed last summer for £20million, while Aston Villa have held talks over Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Few signings encapsulate West Ham’s ridiculous running over recent years like that of Todibo, originally loaned in from Nice by Steidten with an obligation to buy should they stay up. By the time that came around, Steidten was gone and so was manager Julen Lopetegui.

Todibo clashed with his replacement Graham Potter, was dropped for bad timekeeping, then refused to play in West Ham’s survival showdown against Leeds on the final day of last season under Nuno, having told him he would not play for him again. The Frenchman did not attend West Ham’s media day for this season so has a generic close-up picture of his face on the official website unlike the rest of the squad, who all posed in the new home kit. Wan-Bissaka and Fullkrug also missed it.

West Ham remain in talks with Arsenal over a move for winger Reiss Nelson and want Chelsea centre back Axel Disasi, who impressed hugely on loan last season. The Hammers are after Ireland striker Troy Parrott and are also keeping an eye on former Leicester front man Jamie Vardy as a potential back-up. How fun might that be? Vardy is nearly 40 but that didn’t stop Teddy Sheringham from firing West Ham to promotion all those years ago.

The ongoing, messy and complex boardroom struggles rumble on, too, with Czech billionaire and West Ham stakeholder Daniel Kretinsky wrestling it out with former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley over the shares of David Gold’s family. Staveley has an eye on Sullivan’s, too.

Some behind the scenes are excited by the prospect of Staveley’s involvement, with one source describing her as ‘proper switched on’, yet it was Kretinsky whose pitch persuaded Bowen to stay and lead the promotion challenge.

West Ham might just have a few budding youngsters to help him, too. It had become a bit of a running gag that West Ham called themselves the ‘Academy of Football’ yet failed to hand a single full Premier League debut to a graduate of their youth system in five years from February 2020.

There won’t be one this season for obvious reasons, and one of their most recent additions to the ‘Wall of Graduates’ at their Chadwell Heath base Freddie Potts, son of club legend Steve, has just joined Club Bruges on a permanent deal. Hammers never like to see one of their own depart, especially one with that much claret and blue running through his veins.

The emergence of Lewis Orford and Mohamadou Kante, though, provides two reasons why the club felt it was worth banking the £10million for Potts.

Orford impressed Nuno during pre-season and has been referred to behind the scenes as having a touch of Michael Carrick about him. He has been at the club since he was five. His parents, grandfather and girlfriend sat in the stands to watch him control the midfield against Portsmouth. Kante has the physicality that just might suit the rough and tumble of the Championship.

And so, despite all the upheaval and uncertainty, there was a genuine feeling around the London Stadium last Saturday that this is a club ready to embrace their fresh start.

“There is nothing that posting pictures on the internet can do. I avoid it usually in moments like this. But I’m here with my head in my hands and I don’t know what else to do in aside from praying for her soul, which I have done and will continue,” the One Tree Hill alum shared in a lengthy Instagram tribute.

Lenz continued, “I’m crushed. I knew the wild little blonde. Was she nine? Ten? I was eighteen. She ran through the Screen Gem studio hallways at 222 E44th St. laughing and playing games in between blocking and camera rehearsals. Long, unruly curls trailing behind her.”

“She knew her lines and everyone else’s. Her intelligence was astonishing. She understood scenes and nuance and human struggle like no child I’d ever seen on camera,” Lenz said. “And she’d sit with you for a great conversation, then giggle and go play. Legendary Pitcher and Groundbreaking Surgery Namesake Tommy John Passes Away at 83

0

Pitching legend Tommy John, known for the groundbreaking elbow surgery that extended his time on the field by 14 years, has passed away at 83, as confirmed by the New York Yankees.

John’s life came to an end at his residence in Bradenton, Florida. While the cause of death remains undisclosed, he had faced a prolonged battle with bladder cancer and other health issues in recent years.

In a heartfelt statement, the New York Yankees expressed their grief over John’s passing. The team highlighted his pivotal role in their roster and his cherished status among fans. His impressive persistence and post-surgery feats not only transformed countless athletes’ careers worldwide but also somewhat eclipsed his prowess on the mound, notably including two consecutive 20-win seasons with the Yankees.

Reflecting on his overall contributions, the Yankees paid tribute to John’s competitive spirit, his affinity for engaging conversations, his gracious character, and his status as both an athletic figure and a medical trailblazer. They extended their heartfelt sympathies to his family and close friends.

In August, John hinted at his health struggles when he missed the Yankees’ Old-Timers Day, sharing a message of farewell to his friends and fans who had supported him during his remarkable 26-year career.

“I will never forget you,” John said in his message posted to social media.

After suffering what had been up to then considered a career-ending injury, John, then 31, underwent ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction surgery on his left (pitching) elbow in 1974, with the revolutionary procedure being performed by Dr. Frank Jobe. The procedure was named after John and has since become commonplace, performed on thousands of players — not just pitchers — with a typical recovery time of a year to 18 months.

John, a four-time All-Star nicknamed “The Bionic Man,” went on to pitch for 14 more seasons after the surgery.

John had 124 wins in 355 games at the time of the procedure. He pitched in 405 more games, winning 164, and finishing with a career record of 288-231 with a 3.34 ERA in 760 career appearances. Besides eight seasons with the Yankees, for whom he won 91 games over two separate stints, John pitched for the Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics.

Tragic Event at Minnesota Daycare: Owner’s Morning Violence Claims Lives of Family

0

A Minnesota daycare became the scene of a devastating tragedy as its owner fatally shot his wife and young daughter before taking his own life. The horror unfolded during the morning drop-off.

“This is a horrific, tragic situation,” stated Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson on August 12 during a press conference. “Nothing is worse than leaving your child at a place you believe to be secure, only to receive a phone call telling you otherwise.”

A parent was horrified upon discovering the deadly events at Brown Bear Childcare on August 12, prompting them to immediately dial 911.

“They witnessed the events occurring inside the residence at that time. Yes, our witness clearly identified the suspect,” explained Johnson. “We can confirm that the deceased suspect was responsible for the deaths of his wife and daughter.”

When police arrived at the home-based daycare on Tyler Avenue North, they discovered three lifeless bodies: a 41-year-old man who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and in the basement, his 41-year-old wife and 7-year-old daughter, both victims of stabbing. The family was believed to have lived in the residence.

Six “very, very young” children were already inside the daycare at the time of the killings, said Hopkins, and were reunited with their families.

Authorities say the deaths may be linked to a same-day killing in the nearby town of Burnsville, where a 78-year-old woman was found stabbed to death inside a home.

“We believe it is a close family relative of the suspect in Hopkins,” Burnsville Police Chief Matt Smith said in a press conference. “The suspect, we believe, had been recently living in that residence.”

The Hennepin Medical Examiner has not released the identities of the victims or the cause and manners of death, a spokesperson told Oxygen.

After news broke, the daycare community shared its shock.

One mother whose son had previously attended the daycare described the husband as “aloof,” according to the New York Times.

Neighbor Jessica Morlock, who worked with the couple on some community projects, told the outlet that they seemed like “really kind and generous people.”

Meanwhile, Amanda Marx, a nurse who lives across the street from the daycare, saw police trying to break down the front door and one officer carrying out a child.

As she told the Associated Press,  “I’m just trying to figure out how to explain to my 7-year-old why there’s crime scene tape on our deck.”

The daycare has been licensed in the state since 2019 and accepts a maximum of 10 children, the AP reported. A description on the daycare’s Facebook page describes it as “a warm, caring environment to help children learn and grow.”

Spokespeople from the Hopkins Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Oxygen.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the greater community. However, the impact is significant.

“This was one of those ones that you’ll remember throughout your entire career,” said Johnson, “if not life.”

Grieving Husband’s Desperate Journey: Hours Spent Driving with Deceased Wife Beside Him

Police allege that a Louisiana man transported the body of his wife across state lines, her lifeless form seated next to him, following a fatal encounter.

Authorities in Memphis, Tennessee, apprehended 50-year-old Tyronne Brazille after they uncovered the deceased body of his wife, Lanessa Bradford, in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Thursday.

Brazille had embarked on a journey exceeding five hours from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before law enforcement halted him and uncovered the grim reality that Bradford had been fatally shot.

According to a report by WREG, the couple, married for many years, had been involved in a dispute prior to the tragic event.

Longtime friend Shelicka Decker revealed that Bradford, an elementary school employee, had been contemplating leaving her husband in the weeks leading up to her untimely death.

‘She had the money saved up. She had come up with a plan, and she was going to just vanish. That was the only way she would be able to get away from him,’ she said.

‘She was going to leave her car, she was going to leave all the things behind, and she had been in touch with her family that was out of town, and that’s how she was going to make this move to get away.’

Decker added that the pair’s marriage had been strained and Brazille suffered from mental health issues, the outlet reported.

‘He never put his hands on her up until recently, like maybe two or three months ago,’ she said.

According to Decker, Brazille had previously threatened to end his life if Bradford tried to leave him.

Investigators discovered they had been at the Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge before Bradford was killed.

Police told WREG that Brazille fled the area after allegedly killing his wife and drove through several states until he was finally stopped in Memphis due to a traffic violation.

After hearing the news of how Bradford was found, her friend Decker told the outlet: ‘Where was his mind at during that ride?

‘Like, it’s so crazy. It’s so crazy and heartbreaking.’

The elementary school where Bradford worked requested a welfare check at her home after she failed to show up to work for a few days, the outlet reported.

‘It’s such an unfortunate situation, like everybody, she was such a good person. Everybody, she uplifted a lot of people, a lot of parents,’ Decker told the outlet.

‘My prayers are with her family and friends as well as his, because we were all friends. We all, you know, hung around each other, and this is just not the same person that we grew up with.’

Brazille was arrested in Memphis as a fugitive and is set to appear in court on Monday.

He currently awaits extradition to Louisiana where he will face a murder charge over his wife’s death, according to WREG.

The Daily Mail reached out to the Baton Rouge and Memphis police departments for comment.
