The Shards’ Episode 3 Recap: Rollergirl Unleashed and Secrets Revealed

FX’s gripping series, The Shards, revels in the art of capturing exquisite visuals. Director Michael Uppendahl expertly draws the viewer into captivating scenes: a carefree girl disco-skates in slow motion, glowing with confidence; a circle of youthful friends enjoying lunch as the camera twirls around them; an elegant dancer claiming the lens’s attention; a car speeding along a hidden, winding road; a model perfecting her dramatic Oscar goodbye; and a young man weeping into the scent of his absent partner’s jacket. When the show finds beauty, it holds tight and invites the audience to bask in it.

At the heart of this episode is a pivotal event: the unexpected disappearance of Really Rhonda, portrayed by Ivy Wolk. Known for her quirks and cherished by classmates, Rhonda is described by Bret’s narration as what we’d now identify as neurodivergent, exhibiting symptoms similar to Tourette’s. Yet, she remains unapologetically true to herself, clinging to the fading roller-disco fashion with pride.

“She didn’t care about others’ opinions,” Bret reflects. “Imagine the freedom in that.” Befriending Really Rhonda offered a respite from the self-image pressures that dominated their lives otherwise. Her absence hits Bret hard, echoing the void left by Matt’s disappearance.

Bret’s search for answers deepens. He visits Matt’s poolhouse, enveloped in a poignant moment as he clutches and cries over Matt’s jacket. Later, a threatening phone call rattles him, easing only when he invokes Robert’s name.

The Shards Ep 3: Bret looking at phone

Determined, Bret trails Robert to a family-owned property on Cielo Drive, infamously known for the Manson murders. He waits until Robert departs with an ominous bowling bag and takes a look inside himself. To steady his nerves, Bret murmurs a mantra, “Being afraid is so lame. You are not a coward.”

Misleading crosscutting makes it look like he’s on the verge of rescuing Really Rhonda, when in fact he appears to have been too late. We see the Trawler, who’s been feeding her live eels, drag her out of the cage, while in the here and now Bret discovers a bloody jacket from his high school covering an equally bloody pet iguana.

Honestly, I’m just relieved Really Rhonda didn’t get tortured on camera too badly. By taking so much screentime to present her as an endearing and magnetic figure, the show makes us truly dread the prospect of her torture and abuse at the Trawler’s hands. Making you want to see sexy murder hijinks and then regret when they actually arrive is a smart technique.

So is the repeated use of fairy-tale storytelling and imagery. The hidden chamber in which Really Rhonda has been caged has its roots in slashers, gialli, and serial-killer true crime, but it also evokes Hansel & Gretel and Bluebeard. Terry Schaffer whisks Bret through a secret road from Beverly Hills to the Valley that only he, Warren Beatty, and Jack Nicholson have the access code to — a hidden passage, the path through Mirkwood, the Yellow Brick Road. (The Trawler, it seems, also knows the number.) This all fits Bret’s obsession with passing from the world of childhood to adulthood, the metaphorical basis of so much myth and fantasy.

Terry is a more interesting, and even more loathsome, character than he appears at first glance. Sure, he likes to use his influence to bed high schoolers, but he’s also gratuitously, enormously cruel to his wife, Liz, whose career stalled out at ex-model when she married him. Now she holds his Oscars and gives speeches to an imaginary crowd, where she gets to say fuck you not only to showbiz people who wronged her, but to her disappointment of a daughter and terrible husband. Terry interrupts her, mocking her ruthlessly for her failures. It’s an ugly scene.

Bret’s great frustration, meanwhile, is that he can’t get any of his friends to care in the slightest about the disappearing kids. Instead, the gang is still pushing ahead with Robert’s party. They’re so unconcerned it’s like something out of It by Bret’s beloved Stephen King, where It’s malignant presence causes the people in the town of Derry to look the other way and forget anything they happen to see while they turn their heads. (The fundraiser Susan arranges, in which they place Really Rhonda’s face on bottled water instead of cartons of milk and don’t mention Matt at all, is like an Addams Family Values bit.)

Debbie also has them all planned for an appearance on a local teen TV show called Dance Off!, where a girl named Cha Cha Rodriguez (Bella Valdes) held the camera’s attention for the entirety of Blondie’s “Rapture.” Debbie craves that kind of attention, since she’s not getting it from Bret; she begins flirting with Ryan (Daniel Dale), Bret’s former hookup. She’s got a type, anyway!

Working with cinematogrpaher Cory Geryak, Uppendahl brings a genuinely filmic look to the proceedings. The light feels real and textured, illuminating the surface of things rather than being slapped on like a paint job. The show has a subdued dynamic range, letting the luxe lives of its characters and the depravity of its antagonist provide the lurid thrills. It’s an approach that’s working very well.

Billionaire’s $633M Divorce Payout Sparks Outrage from Wife

0

A courtroom drama unfolded as a wealthy hedge fund tycoon reportedly worked for years to safeguard his fortune before potentially parting ways with his spouse, according to recent testimonies.

Legal representatives for Laura Overdeck, both aged 56, accused John Overdeck of orchestrating a plan to minimize her financial share as their marriage dissolved, highlighting this accusation during the trial that commenced earlier this week.

The proceedings began on Wednesday under the watchful eye of New Jersey Superior Court Judge Bruce Buechler. This high-profile case, with coverage by Bloomberg, is shaping up to be the most significant divorce dispute the state has seen.

In their introductory remarks, Laura’s legal team argued that John had taken deliberate steps over many years to ensure his assets were well-protected against the eventuality of marital dissolution.

They alleged his tactical maneuvers aimed to leave Laura with an estimated $633 million, a sum they consider negligible in the context of his substantial wealth.

His lawyers meanwhile said that John, who according to Forbes is worth $8 billion, was now prepared to hand over $723 million in tax-free cash to his ex.

The main sticking point between the two, according to the outlet, is over whether Laura is entitled to an even bigger sum tied to the value of John’s firm Two Sigma.

She is seeking 35 percent of the value of his stake in the firm, which according to her lawyer would be worth $6.2 billion. His lawyers claimed it equated to $4.9 billion.

His lawyers have said that the firm is not a marital asset while adding that it was founded two years before they wed in 2002.

John’s lawyer Jonathan Wolfe said: ‘The company had done substantial work and managed hundreds of millions of dollars before the parties’ marriage.’

Her lawyer Therese Lyons countered that the company was just a ‘concept’ then and that it only started trading after they were wed.

The company grew exponentially during their marriage, John took the stand on Wednesday saying he had grown it from under $1 billion in 2001 to now $80 billion.

Lyons claimed that as well as managing the firm with his partner he also ‘worked tirelessly’ to hide assets from his wife.

She accused him of ‘planning his escape’ during their marriage, and accused him of a ‘scheme’ to strip billions out of their marital estate.

She said: ‘John Overdeck is not a man who woke up one morning and decided to divorce his wife.’

Wolfe said that John earned $685 million during their marriage, all of which was held in a joint bank account. Prior to their marriage, John had already made billions, he added.

Prior to co-founding Two Sigma with David Siegel, he had worked at DE Shaw & Co, an investment firm, and also helped Jeff Bezos launch Amazon.

Wolfe said that John’s offer to his estranged wife was ‘more than enough to meet the needs of the parties’ marital lifestyle’.

Laura is also now seeking hundreds of millions in treasury bonds that are held in a trust, as well as a court order handing her equal control of their family foundation.

Failing that order, her lawyers have asked the court to have John give 50 percent of the value of their foundation to a charity of her choosing.

According to a tax filing in 2024 seen by Bloomberg, their family foundation has assets in it totaling $920 million.

Laura holds a degree in astrophysics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

She also founded and oversees a nonprofit called Bedtime Math that helps parents teach math to their kids.

Shocking Courtroom Twist: Officer Reveals Psychologist May Have Coached Tragic Massachusetts Mom in Child Killings

0

Jurors bolted upright in their chairs, their focus sharpening in an instant.

In the crowded public gallery, brimming with women and media personnel, an air of intense anticipation suddenly prevailed.

This electrifying moment unfolded on the twelfth day of Lindsay Clancy’s trial. A police officer unexpectedly revealed that the prosecution’s narrative hinged on the allegation that a doctor had advised the mother of three to assert she had killed her children due to hearing voices.

On January 24, 2023, in the affluent suburb of Duxbury, Massachusetts, Clancy tragically strangled her three young children—Cora, aged five, Dawson, three, and the eight-month-old Callan—using exercise bands in their home’s basement.

Following the horrific act, she attempted to take her own life by slashing her wrists and neck before leaping from a second-floor bedroom window.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to three counts of first-degree murder.

She claims that she was in the throes of severe postpartum depression and psychosis and heard a voice commanding her to kill the children and herself, telling her it was her ‘last chance.’

Inside Plymouth County Superior Court on Wednesday morning, Massachusetts State Police Sgt Dan Lawlor was forced to admit that investigators discussed a ‘theory’ that a psychologist hired by the defense had planted the seed of that story in Clancy’s mind.

A few days after the killings, forensic psychologist Dr Paul Zeizel had visited Clancy at Brigham Women’s Hospital where she was receiving treatment.

During that visit, he let Clancy use his cell phone to call her husband Patrick.

In that call, which marked the first time the couple had spoken since that tragic night, Clancy told her husband that she had heard voices on the day of the killings.

During a fiery cross-examination from defense attorney Kevin Reddington, the officer admitted that one of the state’s theories was that Dr Zeizel told Clancy inside the hospital room to say she had been hearing voices, so as to help create a defense case.

Animatedly gesturing to Clancy sitting in her wheelchair at the defense table, Reddington pointed out that no one ‘could get access’ to the mom-of-three when she was hospitalized, with officers – including Sgt Lawlor – stationed outside the door.

Clancy’s parents and previous attorney weren’t allowed to see her. And Reddington had to get a court order so that Dr Ziezel could visit her.

‘Did you know that the prosecutor is saying that MY doctor told her to call Patrick to say she heard voices?’ he asked the officer.

Assistant DA Shanan Buckingham leaped to her feet and objected, while a stunned look shot across Sgt Lawlor’s face.

Judge William Sullivan quickly summoned a sidebar.

For around 10 minutes, all eyes in the courtroom were transfixed on the judge’s bench as the defense and prosecution battled it out.

Over the white noise, Buckingham’s voice could be heard growing louder and louder.

Reddington crossed his arms, bounced up and down on his toes and shook his head while she spoke. He then began gesticulating animatedly with his arms when it was his turn to speak.

The 18 men and women – who had likely only heard that stunning allegation for the first time in that moment – were transfixed, staring at the heated exchange, scribbling down notes and whispering to one another.

Clancy, dressed in a khaki green blouse in her wheelchair, also watched intently but gave away no emotion – in a courtroom where her every move and expression has fallen under intense scrutiny.

A local priest who had joined Clancy’s parents Paula and Mike Musgrove in the gallery turned and briefly spoke with them.

Ultimately, the jury was sent out of the room so that the two sides could spar in open court during voir dire questioning of Sgt Lawlor.

As the panel walked out, Reddington returned to the defense table and whispered to Clancy. The former delivery nurse nodded in response, before raising her eyebrows.

Under questioning, Sgt Lawlor testified that he saw Dr Zeizel enter Clancy’s hospital room.

He admitted that he wasn’t sure if the doctor closed the door or left it open but confirmed he could not hear anything that was being said inside.

He also admitted that he had been working with the prosecution team on the case and had spoken about possible theories with them.

Sgt Lawlor said he remembered speaking about the theory that the doctor told Clancy to make those claims to other police officers.

But he claimed he didn’t recall ever speaking to the prosecution team about it.

‘The conversation also included the fact that it was the psychologist who planted that seed in her mind?’ Reddington pressed him.

‘That would be the theory,’ the officer admitted.

During a brief recess before he repeated the account to the jury, Sgt Lawlor sheepishly paced the corridor outside the courtroom, his facial expression downtrodden.

He then quickly passed through the courtroom doors to escape the prying eyes of the public and media.

It was a stunning admission that the officer nervously repeated when the jury returned to the courtroom.

When pressed by Reddington, he also admitted that there was no investigative basis to the theory – that it was only speculation.

Dr Paul Zeizel, a highly-experienced, well-respected forensic psychologist who works with Reddington, was not in the courtroom to witness the accusation against his professionalism play out.

The psychologist has so far attended several days of the trial, often sitting with Clancy’s parents in the row behind her two nurses.

How much trust should we place in expert witnesses when lives and justice are at stake?

The defense’s move to expose the so-called theory comes as prosecutors have tried to cast doubts on Clancy’s claims that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings.

As part of this, they have raised questions about Clancy being alone in the hospital room with Dr Zeizel, hinting that this was the first time she mentioned hearing voices.

To date, friends, family members and medical professionals have testified that Clancy never told them she was hearing voices prior to the killings.

But exposing the theory during the officer’s testimony might mark a blow to the state’s case as the defense was able to show the jury that investigators found no evidence to support it.

As the officer was excused and left the courtroom, Reddington leaned back in his chair and smiled.

The trial continues.

Lifelong Democrats in Michigan are contemplating a shift that could dramatically impact the political landscape. Alarmed by the progressive stance of candidate Abdul El-Sayed, particularly his anti-Zionist remarks, many Jewish voters are considering a pivot to Republican contender Mike Rogers as a defensive strategy. This group, comprising more than 100,000 voters in a state previously decided by a mere 19,000-vote margin, is poised to significantly influence the upcoming election. Such a potential exodus could spell disastrous consequences for the Democratic Party, possibly shifting Senate control to the Republicans.

Abdul El-Sayed’s bid for the Michigan Senate seat is embroiled in controversy following his endorsement from a pastor with a controversial history. The pastor had previously commended Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, known for his inflammatory antisemitic rhetoric, calling him a “truth teller.” Compounding the issue, El-Sayed’s campaign has invested $75,000 for consulting services with the pastor’s nonprofit organization. Is this a strategic effort to win votes, or does it signal baggage that could weigh down El-Sayed’s campaign?

Affordable celimax Retinal Cream: Save on Amazon’s $25 Deal

0

A secret coupon promotion has made it possible to purchase the celimax The Vita-A Retinal Shot Tightening Dual Cream for under $25, making this anti-wrinkle treatment more accessible than ever.

For those on the hunt for an effective retinoid cream without the high-end price tag, the celimax offering could be the solution. Typically retailing at $30, the cream is now available for $24, thanks to a current 20% discount, presenting an ideal opportunity to try it out.

Although I haven’t personally tested this specific K-beauty cream, I have tried its popular counterpart, The Vita A Retinal Shot Tightening Booster from the same celimax line. The booster made a noticeable difference in my skincare routine, brightening dark circles and firming up my skin, which piqued my interest in the Dual Cream.

celimax The Vita-A Retinal Shot Tightening Dual Cream

Both products emphasize anti-aging benefits, with the Dual Cream crafted as a rich formula rather than a booster. It includes 0.05% retinal, along with 3% matrixyl and 5% panthenol, all working together to smooth fine lines and enhance skin hydration for a softer appearance.

Retinal stands out for those seeking wrinkle solutions, as it converts one step closer to retinoic acid than retinol, offering potentially enhanced benefits. Products with retinal are gaining traction among those focusing on addressing fine lines, texture inconsistencies, firmness, and uneven skin tone. However, as with all retinoids, it’s important to introduce them slowly into your routine to mitigate potential dryness or irritation.

The celimax booster that I’ve used contains 0.1% retinal and 3% Matrixyl, and celimax recommends starting every other night when introducing retinal into a routine. The brand also recommends sunscreen the following morning.

At $24 with the coupon, the Dual Cream is especially appealing for anyone curious about stepping into retinal skincare without spending $50 or more. For an anti-aging cream built around retinal, peptides and hydrating panthenol, under $25 is a price worth checking twice.

Accused LSU Cheerleader Assailants Fight Legal Battle for Justice

0

In a controversial move, the defendants accused of sexually assaulting and abandoning LSU cheerleader Madison Brooks are utilizing several legal strategies to evade justice before their trial, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The individuals involved, Casen Carver, 22, Desmond Carter, 21, and Kaivon Washington, 21, are confronting numerous rape charges connected to the tragic January 2023 incident that left the 19-year-old victim abandoned on the side of a busy highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The trial for Carter is set to commence on Monday. Meanwhile, Carver faces charges of video voyeurism along with first and third-degree rape, with his courtroom proceedings scheduled for November 30.

Sadly, after being left on the road, Madison was struck by an Uber driver who was unaware of her presence in the dimly lit conditions, leading to injuries that claimed her life at the hospital.

As Carter’s trial approaches, the Daily Mail uncovers that the defendants have resorted to various tactics to avoid going to trial, including an effort by Carter’s lawyers to prevent Madison’s family from wearing her favorite color during the proceedings.

The 21-year-old’s legal team had argued that the family dressing in pink constituted a threat directed at the jury and would violate his right to a fair trial.

But furious prosecutor Sonya Cardia-Porter hit back, calling the move an ‘absurd exaggeration’ and ‘unpersuasive’ and noted that Madison’s family are ‘silent, passive spectators’.

Last week, Judge Gail Ray ruled the family would be allowed to wear pink during next week’s proceedings but banned photographs of the 19-year-old from being worn on t-shirts.

Kaivon Washington, 21, Casen Carver, 22, and Desmond Carter, 21, are all facing rape charges. Carter’s trial is set to begin August 17,  while Carver’s has been pushed to November. A trial date for Washington is yet to be set

The move is just one of a multitude of wheezes the defense teams have used to get off the hook and, despite the trial being imminent, have filed a motion trying to dismiss Carter’s first-degree rape charge and try him only on a second charge of third-degree rape, claiming the two are the same and would thus cause him to face double jeopardy.

Co-defendant Carver’s trial has already been pushed back until November after the prosecution made repeated attempts to boot Judge Ray off the case after Carver was caught sending texts telling his father ‘she (Ray) knows how to help us’ after discovering her son is a convicted rapist.

Ray’s 46-year-old son Nelson Taylor was convicted in 1997 of multiple counts of rape and burglary involving teenage girls.

Carver was also involved in another egregious legal maneuver when he attempted to sue Madison’s mother Ashley Baustert for defamation over an interview she gave to veteran broadcaster Nancy Grace in 2024.

The 22-year-old sued along with Washington’s uncle Everett Lee, 32, who was also in the car on the night of Madison’s death, although the rape charges against him were dismissed without prejudice by a Louisiana Grand Jury.

According to Carver and Lee, Baustert defamed them by implying the pair are rapists in a July 2023 Fox Nation special program called ‘Left For Dead: The Case of Madison Brooks’.

Baustert had said when asked if she’d been to any hearings in the case: ‘It’s just too hard. I know what they’re going to say. It’s…

‘Of course, they’re going to say what they’re going to say. They’re going to victim blame and act like this was a consensual act. We all know it wasn’t. It’s very hurtful to listen to it.’

In an interview with the Daily Mail last week, Baustert said she believed it was her ‘duty’ to be in court for the legal proceedings.

She said: ‘My immediate family plan to attend every day of the trial. It’s going to be hard, especially because I have two other children at home.

‘Separating those feelings and then coming home and being a mom is going to be a challenge.

‘Honestly, I don’t know how I prepare. I’m just going to take it moment by moment, day by day.

‘If I need to leave the courtroom, I’ll quietly excuse myself. But I’m going to try my best to be there. I feel it’s my duty to be there for her.’

Madison died in January 2023 after meeting the four men in Reggie’s Bar – a popular student hangout that has since been shut down.

The men had offered to give Madison a lift home after she lost her phone and friends, with surveillance footage showing the quintet leaving the bar in which the LSU student appears visibly drunk.

Troubling video filmed by Carver and included in the prosecution case shows the now 22-year-old laughing and telling the camera: ‘These guys are crazy! They finna [fixing to] rape her.’

Prosecutors claim Madison’s muffled voice can be heard above blaring music yelling: ‘Get off!’

And, they say, the men then dropped her off on Burbank Drive, alone in the dark at 3am, where she was hit by an Uber that killed her.

Man Arrested for Persistently Stalking Woman’s Home

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a disturbing turn of events, Kendrick O’Neal Bradley, 28, was apprehended yesterday on charges of stalking a woman. Reports indicate that Bradley had an unsettling desire to “look at” the victim, leading him to twice trespass onto her front porch. Alarmingly, he allegedly confessed to an officer that he should keep away from women and might have attempted to engage in a sexual act with the victim had the circumstances allowed.

The first incident occurred around 1 a.m. on July 20. The woman’s doorbell camera recorded footage of a man accessing her sheltered front porch. In a peculiar move, he took one of her flip-flops, tucked it into his waistband, and then made a hasty retreat.

The tension escalated on August 8 around 10 p.m., when the victim was startled by a loud noise outside. Upon checking her doorbell camera, she witnessed a man, who was carrying a backpack, slowly making his way to her porch. Reacting promptly, she switched on her exterior lights, which prompted the man to retreat across the street to an abandoned house. He lingered there for about five minutes, fixated on her home.

The victim immediately contacted 911. Unfortunately, the man disappeared before Gainesville Police Department officers arrived on the scene.

Because of her fear of the man, the victim went to stay with a friend, and at about 11 p.m. on August 8, she saw the same man on her doorbell camera. She used the two-way audio feature to tell the man she was calling police and she ordered him to leave her property, but the man did not appear to be deterred by this and remained in the area for some time before leaving.

The responding police officer noted that between July 20 and August 8, the same man was repeatedly seen walking past the victim’s house, causing emotional distress to the victim.

A photo line-up was administered to the victim, and she reportedly ruled out all but the picture of Bradley; however, she said she could not be sure Bradley was the man she’d seen at her house because Bradley’s face was “chubbier” in the photo.

The officer noted that GPD has recent body-worn camera footage of Bradley, and he has lost weight since the photo in the line-up was taken. The officer identified the man in the doorbell camera video as Bradley.

Bradley was arrested in the 1700 block of NW 6th Street on August 11 and was interviewed at GPD Headquarters.

Post Miranda, he reportedly identified himself in the victim’s doorbell camera video and admitted to taking a flip-flop from the front porch. He reportedly said he often walks by the victim’s house, and after seeing the victim getting out of her car, he has walked by her house and stayed in the area to “look at” her. He reportedly said he should not be around women, and if he had encountered the victim while he was on her property, he probably would have attempted to have sex with her.

Bradley, who is described as homeless in a court document, told Court Services that he has been in the area for about two months. He has been charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and stalking. He has three felony convictions (non-violent) and three misdemeanor convictions (non-violent). Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

P-Square’s Future at Risk: Former Colleague Warns of Regret over Past Decisions

A former employee of British American Tobacco, known as CDO, has stepped forward to support Lola’s impact on the early success of the music duo P-Square. He asserts that she played a crucial role by offering vital opportunities that significantly boosted their career. Furthermore, he stands by Peter Okoye’s marriage to Lola, arguing that prior apprehensions about her influence have proven unfounded.

CDO has cautioned that both P-Square and Jude Okoye might come to rue their persistent familial discord, suggesting they could view their actions with regret a decade or more down the line.

Addressing the family tensions, CDO expressed concern that all involved parties, including P-Square and Jude, might look back with regret in the coming 10 to 15 years over their current decisions.

He candidly shared, “A decade from now, or even 15 years, they may find themselves filled with remorse. Both P-Square and Jude could end up regretting their present choices.”

“Ten years from now, 15 years from now, they will all be full of regrets. Both P-Square and Jude. They will regret what they are doing now,” he said.

CDO also spoke about Lola, saying he knew her personally from his time working with British American Tobacco.

“I worked with British American Tobacco. I know Lola,” he said.

According to him, Lola played an important role in P-Square’s early career and helped expose the duo to opportunities within the entertainment industry.

“Lola gave P-Square the platform,” he said.

He recalled her involvement with Rhythm Council and FKG2, claiming she ensured P-Square performed at several FKG2 events when the company was among the major corporate event managers.

“Lola made sure that she put them on almost every FKG2 event,” he said.

CDO further credited Lola with helping the brothers establish themselves as P-Square.

“Lola single-handedly held them and dragged them to P-Square, to becoming P-Square,” he said.

Speaking about Peter Okoye’s relationship with Lola, CDO described Peter as “the most humane person in that family” and said he understood why Peter chose to marry her.

He acknowledged that some members of the family reportedly had concerns about Peter marrying a woman about 10 years older than him.

“There’s nobody that would see his younger brother or son getting married to a woman that is about 10 years older than you… and be happy,” he said.

However, CDO argued that those concerns should have been set aside if Lola proved to be a good person.

He also questioned claims that Lola would control Peter or negatively influence him, noting that their marriage had continued for several years.

“You people have seen this marriage go on for so many years, and none of those happened,” he said.

The comments have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing with CDO while others questioned his account of Lola’s role in P-Square’s career.

Trump Faces Federal Lawsuit for Alleged ‘Profound Corruption’ in Truth Social Sale Scheme

On Wednesday, a federal lawsuit was initiated against the Trump administration, alleging a breach of the First Amendment. The suit claims the administration is selling exclusive early access to posts on Truth Social, prior to them becoming publicly available.

Described in the complaint filed in the Southern District of New York, this transaction is labeled as “profoundly corrupt.” It argues that the President could potentially profit by disclosing market-sensitive government information to those prepared to pay his private company.

The complaint further argues that “The First Amendment guarantees equal access to the President’s public announcements, and even content-neutral burdens on that access must be narrowly tailored to serve a significant government interest.” It stresses there is no valid, let alone imperative, reason to allow President Trump to benefit monetarily from public presidential information.

The lawsuit has been filed by the Freedom of the Press Foundation and The Intercept, a nonprofit digital news outlet. They are being represented by a legal coalition comprising CREW, Yale Law School, the Public Integrity Project, and Altshuler Berzon LLC.

Last month, Truth Social’s parent company introduced a new feature, Truth API, offering early access to posts from the president and other officials for a fee of up to $100,000 monthly. Reports indicate that at least 10 customers have signed up for this service.

At the same time, the Trump Justice Department has repeatedly argued
