A mother of two accused of stabbing her husband and young children before dawn in a Dallas-area suburb was seen in a heated argument with her husband the day before the alleged attack, the Daily Mail has learned.
Police arrested Holly Evelyn Flores, 37, on October 6 after responding to her Northlake, Texas, home following a 4:30 a.m. 911 call reportedly made by her husband.
First responders found her husband, identified by a next-door neighbor as 34-year-old Justin Hommel, suffering from a stab wound to the head.
The couple’s children—a three-year-old girl and a 10-month-old boy—were also discovered with stab wounds.
Hommel and both children were taken to a Fort Worth hospital and are expected to survive. Flores was arrested and faces two counts of attempted capital murder.
Police said Flores has not provided a motive for the alleged attack. However, a witness told the Daily Mail that she and her husband had been involved in a loud argument outdoors just one day earlier.
‘Yesterday I saw them arguing. I was out here working, I don’t know what the fight was about but I could see her pointing and waving her arms. She looked upset,’ an eyewitness told the Daily Mail.
The witness, a construction worker at a neighboring property, said Justin was ‘standing there listening and holding the baby’ as his wife shouted at him.

Police responded to a 911 call allegedly placed by Hommel at 4:30 a.m.
‘I didn’t think much of it; all couples fight. Plus she was so small compared to him.’
Authorities later said they had been called to the Hommel residence five times since March over wellness concerns.
Residents of the quiet Dallas suburb told the Daily Mail they were stunned by the allegations, saying the family had appeared to be the picture of domestic happiness.
‘They just look like the picture perfect family. The kids are so beautiful,’ one neighbor told the Daily Mail.
Another neighbor said the couple were consistently polite and often waved. He said he had noticed no indication of trouble since the family moved into the neighborhood in 2020.

That image of an idyllic family was also reflected across their social media accounts.
Flores, who uses the name Holly Hommel on Facebook, regularly posted photographs of her husband and their children.

On August 17, Holly Hommel shared a family photo of the four of them standing in front of a beach pier.
Holding her three-year-old daughter, Holly is pictured smiling and standing in front of Justin, who is cradling their infant son.
The day before, she posted another picture of her two children, showing her daughter kissing her son’s forehead.
Holly also appears to run a balloon decorating business. She has shared numerous photos of client’s Halloween parties, grand openings and birthday celebrations.
Justin appears to work as a health insurance expert.
‘Think of me as the Health Insurance Guru…’ Hommel wrote on his professional Facebook page, topped with a photo of him with Holly and their daughter.
Justin and the children are currently in the hospital, surrounded by family, police said, adding that their injuries are non-life threatening.
‘They’re still in hospital for observation, but I believe they are going to be okay,’ Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford said to reporters on Tuesday.
Holly is in custody at the Denton County Jail and faces two counts of attempted capital murder and one count of assault. She has not yet entered a plea, and police said she has not said much about what happened inside the home.
‘She’s more just in a, um, a stare, just not really saying a whole lot,’ Crawford said.
