John Boyega has entered fatherhood. The Star Wars actor revealed that he and his wife, actress Tae Heckard, welcomed a baby boy some time ago.
On Tuesday, October 13, Boyega announced the news on Instagram, sharing several photographs that included a maternity portrait with Heckard and a family snapshot featuring her older son.
“Our bundle of joy has been with us for some time now but thank you for all the well wishes,” Boyega wrote. “My sister is about to pop! Wish her well too!”
He closed the post with a lighthearted quip: “Back to feeding this big baby!”
The actor’s announcement followed reports earlier in the week that he had quietly married almost two years ago and was preparing to welcome a son.
Boyega confirmed his marital status in a recent interview with The Guardian, after the reporter spotted a wedding ring on his finger.
“Oh yeah, this is my wedding ring,” he said. “I’ve been married for coming up to two years now.”

The 34-year-old actor also discussed his expanding family, which already includes a young stepson.
“My baby’s on the way. We got a baby cooking,” he said. “So, you know, my life is completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family. It’s been so nice with the timing.”
While Boyega did not name his wife during the interview, Heckard has since changed her Instagram profile name to “Tae Boyega.”
Heckard, who is known for her role on The Game, is also the mother of a 10-year-old son with former NBA player Brandon Jennings.
Boyega has previously spoken about the importance of being an involved parent and making time for his children.
“I just want to make sure I’m present, I’m consistent and full of love,” he told The Guardian.
Boyega and Heckard have not disclosed their newborn son’s name or his date of birth.
