AFL WAG Annalise Dalins Leads Celebrity Arrivals at Derby Day

A-list celebrities and high-profile socialites embraced Derby Day’s signature monochrome dress code on Saturday, arriving in striking black-and-white ensembles at Flemington Racecourse.

Television and radio stars, influencers and glamorous WAGs helped launch the Melbourne Cup Carnival in classic Derby Day style.

Annalise Dalins topped the celebrity arrivals in an elegant all-white design by Alin Le’Kal, perfectly capturing the event’s traditional aesthetic.

The 25-year-old AFL WAG wore a corseted bodice paired with a minidress styled to resemble an elongated suit jacket.

Dalins posed alongside her Collingwood star fiancé, Josh Daicos, completing the outfit with a dramatic wide-brimmed white hat by milliner Jill Humphries.

She matched the ensemble with an A-Esque leather clutch and strappy heels by Lana Wilkinson.

Carrie Bickmore appeared in high spirits despite recently revealing that her national Hit Network drive show with Tommy Little will come to an end at the close of the year.

The 45-year-old radio presenter chose a bridal-inspired silk creation by Van Der Kooij, featuring a fitted bodice and dramatic, voluminous skirt.

She swept her blonde hair into a slick up-do and topped it with an oversized matching bow, drawing attention to her chunky gold earrings.

A pair of lace Christian Louboutin heels completed Bickmore’s sophisticated Derby Day outfit.

Nadia Bartel commanded attention in a ruffled tulle design from J’Aton Couture, featuring a corseted sweetheart-neckline top and a structured hem that flared dramatically at the hips.

The former WAG, 41, added sheer gloves and a wide-brimmed hat before arriving with her partner, Peter Dugmore.

Lana Wilkinson opted for an all-black look, revealing a hint of midriff in a coordinated top-and-skirt ensemble by Toni Maticevski.

The 44-year-old shoe designer attended with her husband of 16 years, Liam Wilkinson, by her side.

Jessie Murphy and her former Carlton star husband Marc Murphy were also in attendance.

The blonde beauty, 36, slipped into a white satin suit jacket over a matching slip skirt, finishing her look off with a wide-brimmed hat.

One model, Bella Henry, 23, opted for a rocker-themed look, stepping out in a black mohawk cap to match her lace dress.

The blonde beauty spoke with the Daily Mail about her chic outfit, revealing that it wasn’t Halloween-inspired.

‘I don’t think it played a part. My stylist Alicia just pulled some amazing pieces together with the designers and I think they are going for fun fashion,’ she said.

Bella went on to say the mohawk was ‘the perfect piece’ for the windy and rainy weather.

‘Because it’s so heavy, it feels very weighted and secure so I’m not going to fly away,’ she said.

Derby Day is the traditional curtain raiser to one of the world’s most famous weeks of racing, with more than 90,000 people expected trackside.

The ritzy Birdcage will be packed to the brim with Australian celebrities and the high-society set all looking to enjoy the races – and free canapes.

While Derby Day may be the strictest of all dress codes with its black and white scheme, it’s far from the only event during the spring racing carnival with a theme.

Melbourne Cup is all about bright colours and patterns while Oaks Day, also known as Ladies’ Day, encourages women to wear ‘all things feminine’.

The final day of the week, Stakes Day, is far more relaxed, and while some rules are in place, it’s nothing compared with the kick-off event of the season.

More to come.
